Summary Of Chapter 7 Siddhartha
Chapter 7 Samsara
1. Siddhartha had killed his senses during his samana years which were awakened after meeting
Kamala. His life was always directed by thinking and fasting during samana years and the ordinary
people of the world were alien to him just as he was apart from them. The value of Siddhartha s
Samsara years is that he learns how to build relationships with others.
2. Siddhartha is affected by the life of rich men as he had learnt how to transact business affairs, to
exercise power over people, to amuse himself with women; he had learned to wear fine clothes and to
command servants. Yes, I think that wealth inevitably brings the problems of discontent, of sickliness,
of pleasure, of idleness, of lovelessness . Siddhartha succumbs to this life because of Kamala and the
temptation that he faces. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Siddhartha s decision with Kamala about the Buddha is that how peaceful and great life Buddha leads.
In Siddhartha, the change of his lustful ways begins to take place. The first sign of this change is that
he feels unhappy in whatever work does.
4. Siddhartha dreams that Kamala s songbird dies and then take sit out, held it a moment in his hand
and then threw it away on the road, and at the same time he was horrified, and his heart was aching as
if he had thrown away with this dead bird all that was good and of value in himself. The songbird is a
symbol of the spiritual aspect of Siddhartha s life, which is dying because of his worldly life. After
Siddhartha leaves Kamala, she releases the songbird from its cage.
5. He means that Siddhartha needs to get out of the current lifestyle he had been living. At the end of
this chapter, Siddhartha decides to leave the city and go to the forest. He leaves because he realizes
that the life he has been living is not good for him. Kamala rejoiced that she had pressed him so close
to her heart on that last occasion, had felt so completely possessed and mastered by

Allergic Response Essay
The response phase begins with antigen presenting cells, such as dendritic cells and macrophages,
found in the airway. These cells will capture, process and present allergens to helper T cells (Th cells.)
Th cells become activated and release cytokines. The allergen promotes eosinophil recruitment as
well. [4] Stimulated Th cells can differentiate into Th1 and Th2 cells from undifferentiated precursors,
known as Th0 cells. Th1 cells produce a specific set of cytokines that are involved in cellular
immunity, they are also responsible for delayed hypersensitivity reactions and macrophage activation.
Th2 cells also produce a specific set of cytokines, however they are involved in humoral immunity.
Regulatory T cells play a role in Th2 cells responses to allergens. [4] The allergen will bind to the IgE
antibodies on mast cells. The multivalent IgE s are cross linked, this activates the mast cells, causing
mast cell degranulation, releasing basophilic granules, which contain pharmacologically active agents.
These mediators are released into tissues, resulting in an allergic response. [2] The late allergic
response is a result of proinflammatory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

An Insight Into Indian Regional Navigation Satelitte System
CASE STUDY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN SPACE: AN INSIGHT INTO INDIAN
REGIONAL NAVIGATION SATELITTE SYSTEM There is beauty in space, and it is orderly. There
is no weather, and there is regularity. It is predictable. Just look at our little Explorer; you can set your
clock by it literally; it is more accurate than your clock. Everything in space obeys the laws of physics.
If you know these laws, and obey them, space will treat you kindly. Wernher von Braun, quoted in
Space: Reach for the Stars , Time magazine, 17 February 1958. THE WONDERS AND MAGIC OF
SPACE Outer space is mankind s common heritage, so all the countries must have equal access to the
outer space. In the past few decades science and technology have freed from the boundaries of earth
and making its way in to space. Space is captivating! Space is huge. The universe is bigger than we
can get it. The universe is large to the point that stars bigger than our Sun or even entire systems look
like little pinpoints of light since they are so far away. Space contains all of matter and vitality that has
ever existed, but then most parts of it are completely void. In this record, when we discuss profound
space, we typically mean the boundless extends of void range between planets. Space can be
excellent. The planets, stars, systems and nebulae make effortless and vivid shapes noticeable to our
telescopes. Space can be unsafe. In profound space we would kick the bucket immediately unless

Changes During The Elizabethan Era
During The Elizabethan Age, things were a lot, and I mean a lot more different than the things
happening in the now. Things, such as political power, education, government and even literature have
changed drastically because of the constant change happening in our society. In terms of politics, we
differ in the kind of government we are implicating. Back then we used to follow the political
structure of Monarchy, wherein we had a simplified social order of the Monarch or the queen, the
nobility class, the merchants, the yeomans, and the laborers. This structure gave people with higher
ranks complete power over those people on lower ranks. In the Elizabethan Era, Queen Elizabeth I
(the monarch) made all the ultimate decisions for her state.

Toaster Oven Essay
We have all had days where we just need one little piece of toast browned to perfection and not have
to turn on an entire oven and heat up the whole kitchen in the process. Or other times when you have a
house full coming over, and it seems as if you need just more oven rack to bake the rolls on or to keep
a dish warm while the meat finishes up cooking. Or maybe, it is a summer evening and a pizza sounds
amazing except the kitchen is still blazing from a record setting heat wave blasting through, and the
last thing you want to do is generate more heat in your kitchen.
The list of examples could go on and on as to why a toaster oven is an extremely essential kitchen
appliance to own alongside your conventional oven. Its small size, versatile ... Show more content on
Helpwriting.net ...
Along with saving money on energy because of its stature, the small size allows the toaster oven to fit
just about anywhere in the kitchen. Due to its compact size, a toaster oven can sit on top of other
appliances or on countertops, making it an easy appliance to place in the kitchen.
The size you choose determines what items you can cook inside. Obviously, the larger the toaster
oven, the higher the cost. However, considering you can use your toaster oven in much the same way
you can use a conventional oven, investing in a larger toaster oven is prudent.
Different Cooking Elements
Toaster ovens have various cooking elements, depending on what you are looking for. Many of them
come with a convection function. This means generated heat is continually circulated throughout the
oven by means of a fan. The movement creates an even cooking environment, ensuring that the top
and the bottom are cooked evening. That means heat spots are eliminated: one area of a pan of cookies
does not cook more than another. Convection ovens also cut cooking down by almost a third, saving
you not only time but also electricity and of course,

Zombie Consumerism In White Noise by Don DeLillo
Addiction... it is a word that almost everyone is afraid of. The most common addictions are on:
cigarettes, drugs or alcohol. There are million cases all around the world connected with these kinds of
problems. People are concentrating on them and are not aware that there are less severe kinds such as:
Zombie Consumerism. When we buy without thinking, motivated by a super low price, passion or
enormous appetite we are guilty of Zombie Consumerism. Shopping is seen by many addicts as a
release from stress and pain, so it can be assumed the inner working cognitively for a shopping addict
would become similar to that of a drug addict or alcohol addict. The characters in White Noise are
victims of Zombie Consumerism.
One of the main themes around which the novel is structured is death. The characters in this novel
realize that they are surrounded by death and that there is no escape. Even though they are aware that
the death is brought to them upon the products they buy and it causes them to suffer both physically
and mentally, they are ignoring the fact and they turn to the illusive comfort that consumerism
provides. The characters turn to consumerism as a way of escaping death. The products they buy
create some kind of comfort and seem as a solution of many problems. They become desperate
because they believe that buying unnecessary products continuously will help them with their hopeless
situation. Good example for this situation is the drug Dylar. Babette starts using

Fx s Suspense Series American Horror Story
FX s hit suspense series American Horror Story is continuing to become successful, despite some
lapse in ratings for the past couple of weeks. The show managed to rise above it and regain those lost
viewers. As for the critics, well the industry is basically saying, it s not that bad. The show is amazing
for the audience except for one thing, and apparently it is Lady Gaga s acting skills. She is having
anxiety issues regarding this and her doctor told her not to get off meds. The ratings of the show went
up this week according to Headline Planet and most of the viewers gained back were from 18 to 49
years old. This is definitely some good news to the series showrunner, Ryan Murphy. However, as

People in social media, specifically Twitter showed their sentiments on the subject. Some of the
comments would certainly cause an artist to be depressed, but the pop star is strong enough and knows
how to battle the issues. In an interview with Metro news, she admitted that she is actually on

Symbols Of Death In Halloween
Symbols of death have been commonplace in western cultures since their inception. However, the way
in which these symbols are interpreted have gone through significant changes as the human
relationship to death has progressed. This relationship has been fundamentally shaped by interactions
with disease, war, and varying levels of technology, which influences the amount of death individuals
encounter throughout their lives. This intersectionality of causal factors, symbolism, and interpretation
of the human condition, is continually illustrated through different cultural means, especially art and
décor and holidays. In the post war to contemporary period, Death has been largely removed from
Western cultures, particularly North America and Europe, as technological advancements, and the
sanitization of the public gaze have occurred. However, an indirect relationship to death still persists
through cultural interactions with Halloween. Analysis of the spaces in which death is opening
described, visualized, and indirectly interacted, need to occur to create a larger understanding the roots
of western cultural practices, and to understand the problematic aspects of the spectacle of death
through commodification.
Within the historical trajectory of Halloween the connections to death and human mortality are
abundantly apparent. Though there are many examples of cultural practices or holidays that celebrate
or commemorate death globally, the origins of Halloween can be directly

Great Afterlife Debate
In the Great Afterlife debate, Michael Shermer and Deepak Chopra embody two different opinions
concerning the existence of afterlife. Shermer points out that the concepts of afterlife and near death
experiences are illusion of the brain. Chopra disproves that afterlife is a concept from the scientific
perspective in the course of refuting the arguments of Shermer. In what follows, this essay is an
agnostic point of view for support neither of the arguers.... (THESIS......)
There are two separate parts of the debate in respect of the issue of afterlife. In the first place, Michael
Shermer argues that afterlife is not real on the basis of six main evidences from Deepak Chopra s
book, Life After Death: Burden of Proof. He considers that the belief of Chopra is almost entirely
based on faith, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shermer claims that the idea of afterlife or paradise are shaped and reshaped by the human mind to
refute the arguments forwarded by Chopra. By using the report about out of body experiences,
Shermer points out that it is impossible to have a world after death or any out of the body paradise. To
strengthen his argument, Shermer restates the argument that there is no afterlife since [paradise] is in
our thoughts and in our actions. It is in our lives and in our loves. It is in our families and in our
friends. It is in our communities and in our world. It is in the courage of our convictions and in the
character of our souls (The Great Afterlife, p15). On the other hand, Deepak Chopra refutes the
arguments made by Shermer and afterlife is about consciousness in the second place. He argues that
afterlife is not from imaginations and it is a state of awareness by citing the modern near death
experiences are of concrete nature. From the scientific and metaphysical perspectives, Chopra claims
that Hamlet was right to call death an undiscovered country, not because the living cannot reach it but
because heaven s geography keeps shifting (The

Kmart Past Struggles
Management is a key to success, and Kmart needs proper management to help create a positive image
that attracts more customers. Kmart s disorderly management and bankruptcy caused many customers
to shop with other retailers. According to Carr, Wal Mart and Kmart were the same size in 1990. Since
then, Kmart has grown far slower than its rival or the industry. Once one of the largest discount
retailers, Kmart filed for the biggest Chapter 11 bankruptcy for discount retailing in the United States
(2002). Struggling to find the right type of management has been one of Kmart s problems that
ultimately helped lead the company to its downfall. Kmart is constantly changing CEO s, and thus

When asked about particular items that the students were interested in purchasing at a store, some of
the responses were: food, clothes, school supplies, household products, and entertainment
merchandise. If Kmart offered wider range of these items at relatively low prices more students would
be interested in shopping there. According to the survey, specials that persuaded 4 out of the 12
students to shop at Kmart were: sales on bathroom supplies, kitchen appliances, school materials, and
pet food/toys. When asked how often the individuals went to Kmart the response was once or twice
every couple of months. The number one reason that all twelve of the students ever stopped or
considered stopping at Kmart was the convenient location.
A better marketing plan should be implemented to help differentiate Kmart from its competitors. The
Kmart located on Stadium Drive is right off U.S. 131 and is only a few miles away from Western
Michigan University and could generate more sales if more students and residents knew more about
weekly sales and product selection. Below are a few changes that this Kmart could make to increase
sales:
1. Radio and television ads could be created to show annual, monthly, and weekly deals on
merchandise encouraging people to shop at Kmart.

Ankle Sprains Overview Essay
PT Rehabilitation Plan
Ankle Sprains Overview
Ankle sprains have three degrees of injury ranging from 1 3. The level of the ankle sprain is
determined by the amount that the ligament is torn or stretched. A grade one sprain is categorized as a
slight stretching and damage to the fibers of the ligament. A grade 2 sprain is characterized as partial
tearing of the ligament and abnormal laxity of the ankle. A grade 3 sprain is characterized by complete
tear of the ligament if it can be pushed or pulled in certain movements there is gross instability. The
movements of the ankle are abduction, adduction, plantar flexion, dorsiflexion, and inversion,
eversion. The ligaments of the ankle hold the ankle bones and joint into position. These ... Show more

After disruption of the CFL, the PTFL inhibits adduction with the ankle in dorsiflexion.
Medial Ligaments: The deltoid ligaments which are the superficial and deep deltoid ligaments. The
greatest mechanical forces across the ankle joint are directed medially in the normal external rotation
of the foot in walking and running. This is reflected in the strength and thickness of the deltoid
ligament. Biomechanically, the deltoid ligament primarily prevents abduction. After division of both
components of the deltoid ligament, anterior instability of the ankle does not increase. Once the lateral
ligaments are cut, the deltoid ligament acts as a secondary restraint against anterior translation. The
fibular ligament primarily inhibits lateral translation of the talus. The deep deltoid ligament provides
the greatest restraint against lateral translation. In order to tilt the talus in valgus within the mortise,
the superficial and deep deltoid ligaments must be completely ruptured.
Syndesmosis ligaments of the ankle refers to the membrane connecting the tibia to the fibula. The 3
ligaments are the anterior tibiofibular ligament, the posterior tibiofibular ligament, and the
interosseous tibiofibular ligament. The most commonly injured ligament in syndesmotic sprains is the
AITF ligament. The movement that is allowed with these ligaments is limited due to their anatomy
that allows little range in eversion. These ligaments play little role in the stability of the ankle

These figures probably come as no surprise by current market standards and expectations; however,
these figures also suggest and demonstrate an important shift in the US auto industry in general. No
more are the days of the Big Three and their dominance of the market without foreign influence and
challenge. The US auto industry is alive and thriving with an abundance of oversea firms and
production that has captivated and elevated the consumer auto market domestically and will continue
to do so for the foreseen future. (3.3) Market Structure The current structure of the US auto industry is
a who s who of Fortune 500 companies, with long track records of success, and gold mines of
innovation. The current market structure in place has many of the same foundations as the industry of
the pre World War II era, with some important foreign additions from Japan and other countries (
Markets Data Center , 2011). In 2010, over 28 automobile firms registered sales within the United
States. The total number of foreign firms doing business in the US was 25. To make the point more
saliently, 90% of all firms selling autos within the US are from foreign soil. This number is a stark
contrast to what the industry looked like in the pre World War II era, and is probably hard to imagine
for the average consumer. However, the top producers in the US market

Mental Illness And Crime Is Not Cause Crime And Violence
Conversations associating mental illness with extreme cases of violence have become, and continue to
become, more and popular in the United States of America. Many people across the nation, and even
in other countries around the world, are demanding answers to an outstanding number of questions.
Why did these tragic events occur? Why do these tragic events continue to occur? Why is it that
whenever a mass shooting occurs the suspect claims insanity? What is insanity? Are they telling the
truth or is it just a cover up? Does mental illness really cause crime? There are so many questions all
with varying supplementary scenarios however, I will focus on my belief that although mental illness
does not cause crime and violence, it does contribute to it. I believe that the first and most important
problem in this controversy is the lack of understanding what both mental illness and crime is. Robert
Schug refers to both terms as umbrella terms in Stacy Mallicoat s Crime and Criminal Justice:
Concepts and Controversies (2016). Mental illness consists of numerous complex conditions that
alters one s state of mind with ranging severities and crime consists of varying levels of behaviors and
actions that are against the law. The relationship that exists between mental illness and crime is not
only crucial, but it is complex. When a crime is committed, ultimately the goal is for the offender to be
rightfully charged and punished. But let s say one who suffers from schizophrenia was

The Making of a Legend
What does it take to be a legend? How far would one go to be a legend in something one enjoys?
Jordan Burroughs will go the the ends of the earth to considered a legend in the sport of freestyle
wrestling. He went from underdog to top dog with years of hard work, unrelentless training, and never
giving up on his dream to be a legend in mans oldest sport...wrestling.
In ancient Greek mythology, Zeus wrestled Cronos in a battle over the universe in which of course
Zeus won. The great event was celebrated by making wrestling the last event in the Pentathlon. Back
in Ancient times greek men wrestled covered in olive oil and naked. To win one had to throw his
opponent or knock him down, but ancient greece was not the only ones who wrestled. In Mesopotamia
Sumerian caves had drawings in them of wrestling that dated back at least 7,000 years. Over in the
village of Beni Hasan, Egypt historians found wrestling how to drawings in tombs.
In present day wrestling a new up and coming star named Jordan Burroughs is taking the International
Freestyle Circuit by storm. Burroughs is 25 years old and became the seventh U.S. wrestler to win
three Olympic or world titles. Burroughs joined Bruce Baumgartner, Kevin Jackson, Leroy Kemp,

The scene opens on a two room apartment in Dublin. The furniture and other belongings are sparse
and worn out, revealing the family s financial troubles immediately. The act begins with Juno Boyle
and her daughter Mary discussing the murder of their neighbor Mrs. Tancred s son, written up in the
morning newspaper. Mary s brother Johnny irritably tells them to stop reading and leaves the room.

daughter against Boyle and attempts to point out to Boyle how difficult this must be for their daughter
and the repercussions she will have will affect her the rest of her life. When Johnny is killed, Boyle
has no idea because he is busy drinking his troubles away. Johnny s death affects Juno tremendously.
Juno has a spiritual transformation as she realizes how inconsiderate and selfish she was when Mrs.
Tancred s son died. Juno is now in the same position as Mrs. Tancred and is extremely remorseful for
her actions and lack of compassion. It took this great tragedy for Juno to realize that she needed to
leave her husband in order for her life and her love one s lives to turn around. Juno would leave her

Technology And Information Warfare During World War II
Warfare Will Be Determined By Electronic Means In A Few Decades, Either On The Ground Or In
Cyber Space. Since the end of World War II, the instruments of war have been completely upgraded
during the war; from motorization to mechanization. The powerful attack capability of mechanized
troops was fully demonstrated during World War II. Thus, the degree of mechanization in the army
became an important indicator to measure a country s defense capabilities. This standard has become a
popular standard in the world, in the subsequent several decades. Until 1991, the result of the first
Gulf War once again shocked the world. People first time realized the importance of battlefield
information. The United States and its allies with a strong communication capabilities and
reconnaissance capabilities won an overwhelming victory in the war. Information technology and
information warfare thus become the new trend of military development. Therefore, information
battlefield will undoubtedly become the mainstream in the next few decades; information supremacy
will be the most important determining factor in the future. This essay will briefly review the previous

the characteristics of information warfare; the essay will look at the actual examples in the world.

Stalin s Achievement of Total Power in the Ussr
Why was Stalin able to achieve total power in the USSR by the end of the 1920 s? Stalin s rise to
power was due to many different factors. Firstly, on Lenin s funeral day Stalin had given the wrong
date to Trotsky which meant that Trotsky never turned up. Stalin took great advantage of the Lenin
Levy and how they worshipped Lenin. Stalin had written a short book which had summarised all of
Lenin s ideas and plans. From the side of the new Bolsheviks, this showed Stalin as the true heir or
natural successor of Lenin which made it increasingly difficult for his opponents to criticise him and
his decisions. The absence of Trotsky at Lenin s funeral created a large amount of political damage for
him. Trotsky also had weaknesses and made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The role of the Politburo also helped Stalin achiever total power in the USSR by the 1920 s. This is
because when Lenin was bed ridden, power was passed onto the Politburo which consisted of Trotsky,
Stalin, Kamenev, Zinoviev, Tomsky, Rykov and Bukharin. The Politburo had decided that Stalin
should be the only person allowed to see Lenin, this was to reduce the pressure put on Lenin. However
rather than this helping Stalin s career, it almost ended it, this was because Lenin had grown to hate
Stalin. As a result of Stalin having a disagreement with Lenin s wife, Lenin had written a Political
Testament which portrayed Stalin as too rude, someone who would abuse his power and someone who
should be removed from his post. The real concern of the Politburo was not actually Stalin, it was
Trostky. Kamenev and Zinoviev never wanted Trotsky to take power and so they formed an alliance
called the Troika with Stalin. The Politburo had decided not to make Lenin s testament public as it not
only had criticisms of Stalin but of the rest of the leading communists. Also it is highly unlikely that
Stalin would have remained General Secretary of the Communist Party if Lenin s views had become
common knowledge. This all resulted in Stalin s achievement of total power in the USSR, he used
many factors and tactics such as factionalism, the strength of his position in the Communist Party, his
politically cunning skills and the lack of

From 2006 to 2007, Japan s inflation rate took a rapid increase from negative inflation in 2006 to
positive inflation rate in 2007. This sharp increase in inflation rate was likely to be due to the world s
shortage of rice crisis. As rice is Japan s main source of stable food, the rice crisis push up rice prices
globally, causing the inflation rate in Japan to rise sharply. Currently, there are speculation that Japan s
inflation rate may rose at the fastest pace in the decade as companies facing the global economic crisis
may pass higher costs to consumers.
Prices of daily necessities rose while pay stagnated, causing a sharp increase in consumer price index
and thus the increase in inflation rate.
3. Unemployment Rate
Japan s unemployment rate was 3.9% in 2008 and worsen during the global economy recession. The
ratio of jobs to applicants worsened, sliding to a two year low of 0.97. Currently, Japan s
unemployment rate rose to 5.2%, as the number of jobless rose to nearly 3.5 million. The total number
of jobless people climbed by 770,000 from a year earlier to 3.47 million in May, according to the
Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in its monthly report. Those with employment fell
by 1.36 million from the previous year to 63.42 million, as quoted by TOMOKO A. HOSAKA Jun 30,

The Electronic Health Record ( Ehr )
Introduction The Electronic Health Record (EHR) is a comprehensive electronic record of patient
health information (PHI) eventuated by one or more encounters in any care delivery setting. This
longitudinal information includes, demographics, vital signs, past medical history, progress notes,
problems, medications, immunizations, radiology data and laboratory reports. The EHR organizes and
automates the clinician s workflow. The EHR has the ability to create a complete record of a clinical
patient encounter as well as complementary other care related activities directly or indirectly via

Between EHR benefits and its disadvantages, it has been very difficult for decision makers to make a
decision regarding such systems. An evaluation is needed in order for decision makers to pick a side;
whether they support EHR implementation or not. Evaluation is decisive assessment of defined
objectives, based on set of criteria to solve a given problem. Evaluation mainly serves three purposes:
to compare results with the goals and excepted effects of the system, to direct work towards the
expected result with the help of formative evaluation during development and introduction of the
system, to use the finding and outcomes of the evaluation process as an experience base for future
projects(Ammenwerth, Gräber, Herrmann, Bürkle, König, 2003).Whereas, some define evaluation as
the systematic process of information collection about program activities and features to judge and
enhance its effectiveness. Evaluation leads to the settled opinion that something about the program is
the case, which may lead to a decision to act in a certain way(Institute, 2007). The process Evaluation
describes the implementation of an information source and judging the merits and worth which

Poppies At Argenteuil
Poppies at Argenteuil is a breathtaking work of art by Oscar Claude Monet, done in 1873 in oil on a
canvas background. The size of the painting is approximately 50 x 65 cm. As of today, Poppies at
Argenteuil is located at Musee d Orsay, Paris. Monet was born in Paris, France in the year 1840. He
was a student at Académie Suisse after serving two years in the French army. His aunt would buy out
his contract so long as he agreed to become a full time student at an esteemed institute of art. When
one first perceives this painting, they feel a strong sense of connection with the vibrant color and the

How Did Howard Carter Death Curse
Howard Carter was a british archaeologist that was known for many famous discoveries during the
early 1900 s. Carter was the lead archaeologist in the dig of Tutankhamun s (aka King Tut ) tomb. The
finding of the tomb was one of the biggest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century, even though
the opening of the tomb would forever change the team s lives. With all the excitement of this new
finding, the team threw caution to the wind and later opened the casket, little did they know that this
would later bring on a so called curse that was written in a prophecy many years ago for anyone who
disturbed the peace of a pharaoh. This curse became known as the death curse the boundaries for this
curse are limitless it knows no evil or good. According to the people in Carter s life he led a pretty
decent and well respected life for the time that he was alive, once the tomb was opened under his
command the curse began to slowly affect him and his teams lives no matter if they were good, bad,

this incident is the cobra was a sign of ancient egyptian royalty. This posed the question is the death
curse real? There are many other accounts of people from carter s team dying unexpectedly from
things such as blood poisoning. Many people began to ponder if the curse was a real life thing or a
mere ancient egyptian myth. The idea of the Death Curse has crossed many scientist and archaeologist
minds over the past few decades but it has yet to be proven with anything other than circumstantial
evidence from deaths on the

Post Fire Segmentation
An increase in elevation sees an abrupt change in vegetation structure and composition, occupied by
low growing sub alpine woodland dominated by snow gums and treeless valleys (Figure 1). Barker
(1998) found that post fire, the woodland consisted of regrowth from lignotubers. However, if fire
intensity is too severe, these lignotubers will be destroyed, severely impacting on the regeneration
process and vegetation structure (Barker 1998). Such conditions will burn vegetative cover, removing
or damaging the vegetation enough that the above ground parts die shortly after the fire event. In
seasonal, low intensity fires, woodlands burn slowly, where the above part of the tree survive and the
bark at the base of the trunk is damaged due to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Camac et al. (2013) found that in alpine heathlands, little difference in plant diversity and composition
across a fire severity gradient were found five years after landscape scale fire. They also suggest that
these heathlands are similar to temperate sclerophyllous shrubby vegetation types which re establish
within one to two years after fire. Whilst composition was not affected, vegetation structure was
impacted by a substantially higher amount of bare ground, increasing soil loss, invasive species and
lower shrub cover after burning (Camac et al. 2013). Alpine shrublands and grassland boundaries may
be affected by fires, where dynamics exist with grasses replacing shrubs over time in the absence of
fire disturbance (McDougall and Walsh 2007). As disturbance creates bare ground, this triggers the
cycle of shrub regeneration and dominance which may cause larger fires due to its high flammability
(Williams et al. 2006). If frequent fires persist however, the community structure of for example,
alpine wetlands, would result in large burned patches that take decades to recover or will not recover
at all due to the disruption of local hydrology (Williams et al. 2006). The loss of key stone species will
also cause longer regeneration (decades or even centuries) of various species (Walsh and McDougall
2005). It has been argued that intense, large, infrequent fires in the alpine landscape

Half Fitz Alternate Ending
The sun cast its golden light through the leaves and the trees and onto the metal plating of the jeeps

to him, at their fullest. It was beautiful and as he stared it reminded him of his home in Virginia, but
unfortunately home was far from where he was and the smoke from behind settled. His home was

oneself, but damage them. He stared thinking of the times he came home on leave. He tried to smile,

Essay on Bossa Nova, the Misunderstood
Brett Dorman
World Music
Prof. Searles
Bossa Nova: The Misunderstood
Tall and tan and young and lovely,
The girl from Ipanena goes walking and,
When she passes each one she passes goes, ‘Ahh.
These are the first lyrics of, probably, one of the most famous bossa nova songs sung by Frank Sinatra.
The melody of the song is as smooth as the singer, the rhythm is laid back, and the lyrics are simple.
Unfortunately, Frank Sinatra s portrayal of this Bossa Nova classic is detrimental to the music s
image. The Bossa Nova should not just be considered lounge music, for it is much more than that. The

The bataria has three primary instruments, the surdoo, agogo, and tambourine. The surdo is a
membranophone that acts as a bass drum and normally comes in three different sizes that vary in
pitch. These instruments are the heart of the entire ensemble. The tambourine is also a
membranophone that is normally played with one stick while the hand that holds the drum is used to
mute which helps accentuate some beats and muffle others. The agogo acts as the melodic instrument
even though there are only two notes that can be played. The agogo is an idiophone that resembles two
different sized cow bells attached together.
Samba is normally played at a fast tempo and contains many overlapping complicated rhythms

on threes while playing in duple (you will either hear this through accents or triplets). When listening,
we can hear the syncopation between the different rhythms due to the polyrhythm of the music. One
might ask how samba then relates to the Bossa Nova if the music itself is fast, loud, and has an
emphasis on percussion and not so much melody or lyrics. The structure of the Bossa Nova is pretty
much identical to that of samba except much more laid back; it is samba broken down to its bare
essentials (The Brazilian Sound, 55). However, the structure is not the only aspect of samba that
relates to the bossa nova, the melody is similar as well. The bossa nova

Tulip has very little debts with great potential for growth.
Tulip works with a single manufacturer, allowing high quality control levels.
Weaknesses:
Tulip s founders may lose sight of the potential scope of the business.
A limited number of consumers around UAE are aware of the Tulip brand.
The firm has limited cash flow.

Explain The Humanistic Approach In Health And Social Care
The humanistic approach is a person centred approach which depends on trust between the patient and
care giver. It is useful because it is non intrusive and it gives people a choice to change their life. It is
also used in lots of situations, this shows it is used often. However, it ignores people s behaviour and
is short term so this can affect the care given as the carer won t keep an eye on the behaviour which is
very important to observe when providing care. The behavioural approach only involves looking at
behaviour which is being observed. It is easy to understand and is a natural approach so you can t
really tell how someone actually feels because they might do something else. It also doesn t rely on
communication a skill which makes it easier for the health carer and patient if they are not able to
communicate well. However, this approach doesn t involve looking at what is occurring inside

The Pros And Cons Of Private Schools
Utilizing Private Schools Wreck Public Schools No one thinks twice about whether or not a child
needs an education. As children grow, parents must decide what route to take concerning education.
The options include, but are not limited to, sending children to a private or a public school. Deciding
which type of schooling depends solely on personal preference. The argument If You Send Your Kid
to Private School, You Are a Bad Person by Allison Benedikt, argued that sending children to private
schools ultimately depletes actions to achieve what is best for the students. Although, Benedikt s piece
uses premises, and personal testimonies, overall the argument presented is lacking.
Premises
If this article was written correctly with factual information, the author would have done well with
major premises followed by minor premises, but the information given is biased. Parents will often
send their children to private schools to make up for the poor education at the local public schools. To
make positive changes in public schools, parents need to send their children there. A premise the
author stated Parents have a lot of power (Benedikt, 2013) catches the attention of parent readers,
evidence follows this premise from common, American human beliefs. It is well known that the
parents of students have major influences on the way public school systems run. More challenging

Media By Alex Brunstad, Body Shaming And Social Media
Body shaming someone describes how mean the society can be to troll someone on their physical
appearance (Jain). Body shaming people affects their self esteem. People think it is normal to criticize
the body of others because they are accustomed to do it every day, that sometimes they do not even
realize it. Society body shames others all the time, instead of helping them feel secure and happy with
their bodies. They want other people to look the way they want to be look at. Body shaming is
affecting people physically and mentally.
No doubt, when people express how they feel on social media about other s bodies, it can affect the
people they have on their social media. Because they can be going through the same thing as the
person they are describing. Alex Brunstad in Body Shaming and Social Media , explains how she feels
about social media and that it actually affects her when someone talks about other people s bodies.
The author explains how she feels saying that social media, originally a platform by which I hoped to
give and receive support from likeminded individuals, quickly became a toxic environment for
strengthening my relationship with my body . People that feel insecure about their body expect that
others would accept them on how they look and receive support on how they truly feel about
themselves. Since they already know how they look, they do not need a remainder.
Body shaming is even more difficult to people that feel insecure about their body every day. In a
society that puts so much emphasis on body image and beauty, it is so easy to get caught up in self
condemnation and body shaming (Aceves). Society concentrates more on how the person looks
physically. Instead of, accepting them on how they are and concentrating on other things. For that
reason, people who feel offended thru others want to be accepted by them. They start to stop eating,
they become bulimic, anorexic or fall into depression. Just because they want to look at how society
wants them to look.
Therefore, to stop these bullies, people that are being body shamed need to stand up for themselves
and respond to the comments. For instance, if you are going to a family party and you know that they
tend to criticize your

Concrete Slab Foundations
A home s foundation is the bottom most layer that provides the support for a home. Depending on the
part of the country, the size of the home and when it was built, the type of foundation may vary.
Concrete slab foundations are the most common; some are built to sustain crawl spaces or basements.
Other foundation types are pier and beam, pile and spread foundations. Regardless of the type, all will
require at some point foundation repair. Signs of a foundation in need of repair include cracks in the
walls, bricks, drywall, tile or even the foundation itself. Other signs are sticky doorjambs and
windows, sloping floors, cracking or separating chimneys or fascia board. In some cases, mold may
accumulate in the cracks. Whether too much or not enough, water is the main culprit in foundation
repair cases. Over saturated soil expands pushing into the home and foundation and over time loses
stability, causing the foundation to again move and crack. Dry soil on the other hand contracts, pulling
away from the perimeter of the home, leaving little support for the foundation, causing shifts and
cracks. When foundation problems begin to appear it is crucial to repair them as soon as possible.
Early foundation repairs may prevent further problems down the road and save ... Show more content

When most people think about immigration to the United States, they think of the U.S. as being the
land of opportunity, where they will be able to make all of their dreams come true. For some people,
immigration made their lives richer and more fulfilled. This however, was not always the case. A place
that is supposed to be a Golden Land (Marcus 116) did not always welcome people with open arms.
Even after people became legal citizens of the United States, often times the natural born Americans

unfortunately that was not the case. They went through their daily lives, struggling in hopes one day
that their children would get good jobs and could have happy and successful futures. What is also
interesting is the fact that Rosa says, We would be honored if they are chosen to serve. We would be
very proud of our children for doing their duty for their country (Marcus 313 314). The fact that

Cowboy Pastor Research Paper
A cowboy pastor, what is that exactly? Many people may not have a clue what a cowboy pastor or
cowboy church is, even regular church goers. Cowboy churches can be found spread out across the
country, and one thing they all have in common is a lead cowboy pastor. One of those pastors is Kevin
Weatherby, head pastor of Save the Cowboy Ministry based in Kiowa, Colorado. Not only is he a true

and runs the Long X Ranch. Kevin says the best part of doing what he does is the people he gets to
meet. Mr. Weatherby explained that he gets to go cowboy for ranchers around him, and learn from real
good cowboys, and then Kevin gets those same cowboys he meets to come to Sunday church service,
where those cowboys learn from Kevin about the Gospel. When you think about that concept it is
quite fascinating and special. For those out their looking to do what Weatherby does his first piece of
advice said with a slight bit of humor is to run. On a serious note, Kevin said in order to be a cowboy
pastor you have to be real and authentic, because cowboys can sense when your not. Being the same
person you are on Sunday the other six days of the week, and being the same person you are Monday
through Saturday that you are on Sunday is crucial states Weatherby. He gives a great example of
using his horse trough to baptize people in, but that same horse trough is out watering horses all the
other days it s not being used. When asked about any misconceptions that go along with his job, Kevin
stated the biggest one is the fact that because he is a pastor his life is perfect and worry free, but Kevin
is the first to admit his

  • 3. Allergic Response Essay The response phase begins with antigen presenting cells, such as dendritic cells and macrophages, found in the airway. These cells will capture, process and present allergens to helper T cells (Th cells.) Th cells become activated and release cytokines. The allergen promotes eosinophil recruitment as well. [4] Stimulated Th cells can differentiate into Th1 and Th2 cells from undifferentiated precursors, known as Th0 cells. Th1 cells produce a specific set of cytokines that are involved in cellular immunity, they are also responsible for delayed hypersensitivity reactions and macrophage activation. Th2 cells also produce a specific set of cytokines, however they are involved in humoral immunity. Regulatory T cells play a role in Th2 cells responses to allergens. [4] The allergen will bind to the IgE antibodies on mast cells. The multivalent IgE s are cross linked, this activates the mast cells, causing mast cell degranulation, releasing basophilic granules, which contain pharmacologically active agents. These mediators are released into tissues, resulting in an allergic response. [2] The late allergic response is a result of proinflammatory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Things, such as political power, education, government and even literature have changed drastically because of the constant change happening in our society. However, the way in which these symbols are interpreted have gone through significant changes as the human relationship to death has progressed. This relationship has been fundamentally shaped by interactions with disease, war, and varying levels of technology, which influences the amount of death individuals encounter throughout their lives. This intersectionality of causal factors, symbolism, and interpretation of the human condition, is continually illustrated through different cultural means, especially art and décor and holidays. In the post war to contemporary period, Death has been largely removed from Western cultures, particularly North America and Europe, as technological advancements, and the sanitization of the public gaze have occurred. However, an indirect relationship to death still persists through cultural interactions with Halloween. A grade 2 sprain is characterized as partial tearing of the ligament and abnormal laxity of the ankle. A grade 3 sprain is characterized by complete tear of the ligament if it can be pushed or pulled in certain movements there is gross instability. Medial Ligaments: The deltoid ligaments which are the superficial and deep deltoid ligaments. The greatest mechanical forces across the ankle joint are directed medially in the normal external rotation of the foot in walking and running. This is reflected in the strength and thickness of the deltoid ligament. Biomechanically, the deltoid ligament primarily prevents abduction. After division of both components of the deltoid ligament, anterior instability of the ankle does not increase. Once the lateral ligaments are cut, the deltoid ligament acts as a secondary restraint against anterior translation. The fibular ligament primarily inhibits lateral translation of the talus. The deep deltoid ligament provides the greatest restraint against lateral translation. In order to tilt the talus in valgus within the mortise, the superficial and deep deltoid ligaments must be completely ruptured. Syndesmosis ligaments of the ankle refers to the membrane connecting the tibia to the fibula. The 3 ligaments are the anterior tibiofibular ligament, the posterior tibiofibular ligament, and the interosseous tibiofibular ligament. Does mental illness really cause crime? There are so many questions all with varying supplementary scenarios however, I will focus on my belief that although mental illness does not cause crime and violence, it does contribute to it. I believe that the first and most important problem in this controversy is the lack of understanding what both mental illness and crime is. Robert Schug refers to both terms as umbrella terms in Stacy Mallicoat s Crime and Criminal Justice: Concepts and Controversies (2016). Mental illness consists of numerous complex conditions that alters one s state of mind with ranging severities and crime consists of varying levels of behaviors and actions that are against the law. Firstly, on Lenin s funeral day Stalin had given the wrong date to Trotsky which meant that Trotsky never turned up. Stalin took great advantage of the Lenin Levy and how they worshipped Lenin. Stalin had written a short book which had summarised all of Lenin s ideas and plans. From the side of the new Bolsheviks, this showed Stalin as the true heir or natural successor of Lenin which made it increasingly difficult for his opponents to criticise him and his decisions. This is because when Lenin was bed ridden, power was passed onto the Politburo which consisted of Trotsky, Stalin, Kamenev, Zinoviev, Tomsky, Rykov and Bukharin. The Politburo had decided that Stalin should be the only person allowed to see Lenin, this was to reduce the pressure put on Lenin. However rather than this helping Stalin s career, it almost ended it, this was because Lenin had grown to hate Stalin. As a result of Stalin having a disagreement with Lenin s wife, Lenin had written a Political Testament which portrayed Stalin as too rude, someone who would abuse his power and someone who should be removed from his post. The real concern of the Politburo was not actually Stalin, it was Trostky. Kamenev and Zinoviev never wanted Trotsky to take power and so they formed an alliance called the Troika with Stalin. The Politburo had decided not to make Lenin s testament public as it not only had criticisms of Stalin but of the rest of the leading communists. Carter was the lead archaeologist in the dig of Tutankhamun s (aka King Tut ) tomb. With all the excitement of this new finding, the team threw caution to the wind and later opened the casket, little did they know that this would later bring on a so called curse that was written in a prophecy many years ago for anyone who disturbed the peace of a pharaoh. Barker (1998) found that post fire, the woodland consisted of regrowth from lignotubers. However, if fire intensity is too severe, these lignotubers will be destroyed, severely impacting on the regeneration process and vegetation structure (Barker 1998). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Camac et al. (2013) found that in alpine heathlands, little difference in plant diversity and composition across a fire severity gradient were found five years after landscape scale fire. They also suggest that these heathlands are similar to temperate sclerophyllous shrubby vegetation types which re establish within one to two years after fire. Whilst composition was not affected, vegetation structure was impacted by a substantially higher amount of bare ground, increasing soil loss, invasive species and lower shrub cover after burning (Camac et al. 2013). Alpine shrublands and grassland boundaries may be affected by fires, where dynamics exist with grasses replacing shrubs over time in the absence of fire disturbance (McDougall and Walsh 2007). As disturbance creates bare ground, this triggers the cycle of shrub regeneration and dominance which may cause larger fires due to its high flammability (Williams et al. 2006). If frequent fires persist however, the community structure of for example, alpine wetlands, would result in large burned patches that take decades to recover or will not recover at all due to the disruption of local hydrology (Williams et al. 2006). The loss of key stone species will also cause longer regeneration (decades or even centuries) of various species (Walsh and McDougall 2005). Body shaming people affects their self esteem. People think it is normal to criticize the body of others because they are accustomed to do it every day, that sometimes they do not even realize it. Society body shames others all the time, instead of helping them feel secure and happy with their bodies. They want other people to look the way they want to be look at. Body shaming is affecting people physically and mentally. No doubt, when people express how they feel on social media about other s bodies, it can affect the people they have on their social media. Because they can be going through the same thing as the person they are describing. Alex Brunstad in Body Shaming and Social Media , explains how she feels about social media and that it actually affects her when someone talks about other people s bodies. The author explains how she feels saying that social media, originally a platform by which I hoped to give and receive support from likeminded individuals, quickly became a toxic environment for strengthening my relationship with my body . People that feel insecure about their body expect that others would accept them on how they look and receive support on how they truly feel about themselves. Since they already know how they look, they do not need a remainder. Body shaming is even more difficult to people that feel insecure about their body every day. In a society that puts so much emphasis on body image and beauty, it is so easy to get caught up in self condemnation and body shaming (Aceves). Society concentrates more on how the person looks physically. Instead of, accepting them on how they are and concentrating on other things. For that reason, people who feel offended thru others want to be accepted by them. They start to stop eating, they become bulimic, anorexic or fall into depression. Just because they want to look at how society wants them to look. Therefore, to stop these bullies, people that are being body shamed need to stand up for themselves and respond to the comments. Depending on the part of the country, the size of the home and when it was built, the type of foundation may vary. Concrete slab foundations are the most common; some are built to sustain crawl spaces or basements. Other foundation types are pier and beam, pile and spread foundations. Regardless of the type, all will require at some point foundation repair. Signs of a foundation in need of repair include cracks in the walls, bricks, drywall, tile or even the foundation itself. Other signs are sticky doorjambs and windows, sloping floors, cracking or separating chimneys or fascia board. In some cases, mold may accumulate in the cracks. Whether too much or not enough, water is the main culprit in foundation repair cases. Over saturated soil expands pushing into the home and foundation and over time loses stability, causing the foundation to again move and crack.
