Editha Character Analysis
Sometimes the consequences of war are overlooked because of the circumstances. In this story,
William Dean Howells uses his characters to convey his own views on war. One can easily tell that he
was in no way a supporter. He does an outstanding job demonstrating the many reasons war is
harmful. Through the main character of his story Editha , William Dean Howells reveals that war is
not glorious, but is instead destructive.
Editha s character conveys the ignorance of the common people by highlighting the impractical ideas
she has about the war. Her beliefs gave a false hope and an unrealistic expectation as to what the
ramifications of war actually are. From evidence in the story, one would infer that the story was set
during the Spanish American ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only does war impact American families, but also America s enemies families. War is
heartbreaking, so it is unsettling that Editha chose to ignore the consequences of war just because
George is fighting under the American flag. When the two were discussing the war, Editha states that
there are no two sides anymore and there is nothing now but our country (Howells). As long as
America is first, she has no regards for anyone else in the world. She is justifying the murder of people
in the name of American patriotism. This almost makes the lives taken during war seem less valuable,
which is unacceptable. Through a letter that Editha wrote to George, she affirms her unawareness
regarding war. In the letter, she states that if George does not enlist, she will break off the engagement
because the man she would marry must be devoted to his country first (Free). Editha lives in Northern
New York, where it is difficult to see the repercussions of war. Because of this, Editha does not seem
to care that war affects every country involved, not just America. At the end of the story when Editha
visits the Gearson family, Mrs. Gearson remarks you thought it would be all right for my George, your
George, to kill the sons of those miserable mothers and the husbands of those girls that you would
never see the faces of (Howells). Her sarcasm emphasizes her strong

Functional Genomic Analysis of C. elegans Using RNA...
Introduction
Before we talk about this important experiment, do you know what a nematode is?
Specifically, this experiment used Caenorhabditis elegans, C. elegans for short. C. elegans is a little
worm (just like the kind you find in the ground), but has a very special place in modern biochemistry:
scientists have mapped its entire genomic sequence.
This sequence lets scientists know the character and location of all C. elegans genes. However,
biochemists do not yet fully understand what each gene does and the goal of this experiment is to find
the function of each gene within the worm. The connection between a worm s genotype and
phenotype is important, because, believe it or not, human beings and worms share many of the same ...

All eukaryotic cells get their genetic information from DNA, which are strands of nucleotides whose
order conveys genetic information to the cell. Structurally, DNA looks like a ladder. A DNA strand is
made up of a sugar phosphate backbone (similar to the sides of a ladder, alternating sugar and
phosphate) and is connected in the middle with paired purines and pyrimidines (fancy names for four
chemicals that make up the steps of the ladder). Scientists refer to the distinctive shape of DNA as a
double helix.
DNA replication is necessary for organisms to stay alive and reproduce. When cells replicate, the
DNA must also be copied so the daughter cells contain the genetic information necessary to perform
key chemical reactions. Cells have machinery that read the information in DNA and use these
instructions to make proteins. To make proteins, the DNA must first unwind in order to be read. This
small section is then replicated to form a single stranded RNA strand. The RNA strand then forms
what is called messenger RNA or simply mRNA. The mRNA is used to make the proteins the cell
needs.
In some viruses, however, the genetic material is double stranded RNA (known as dsRNA), rather
than DNA. These viruses inject their dsRNA into a host s cell. The

How Did Alexander The Great Affect The Age Of The...
Imagine a world without splendorous leisure activities. The people of the Hellenistic Age most
certainly couldn t! The creation of their extravagant culture that focused on the enjoyment of life and
the understanding of human emotion is owed to Alexander the Great s conquest of Persia and his
decision to mix his native Greek culture with the cultures of the new lands he now owned in his vast
empire. This extremely intriguing age, which lasted for about 300 years, was responsible for many of
the ideas that are still upheld in today s culture, and the people of this time established many important
artistic and philosophical ideals that have lasted for thousands of years. The Hellenistic Age began
after the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BCE (atg timeline). His conquest of Persia after the
Battle of Gaugamela in 331 BCE technically spurred Hellenism, or the spreading of Greek culture
(adtp). Alexander the Great s empire of over seventy cities spread all the way from the west of the
Mediterranean to the east of Persia, and became a hotbed for the mixing of cultures (thought co).
People within this territory assimilated the Greek language, which then allowed for the spread of other
parts of Greek culture, like arts, philosophy, and literature (world of atg). After conquering Persia,
Alexander the Great began to introduce aspects of Greek culture through his new empire in many
different ways. He encouraged his soldiers to marry with Persian women in order to

Renewable Energy And Jobs Review 2014
The 2014 renewable energy and jobs review 2014 was completed by The International Renewable
Energy Agency (IRENA). It provides in depth research about the recent trends in renewable energy
employment, prices and investment. These activities have affected job creation across a multi national
spectrum. Each year the growth in this sector generates substantial employment opportunities.
IRENA estimates that 6.5 million renewable energy jobs were accounted for in 2013. This analysis
also listed the largest employers of renewable energy jobs. These countries include in descending
order:
1) China
2) Brazil
3) United States
4) India
5) Germany

Liquid biofuels represents the next largest number of jobs at 1.45 million. These technologies include
ethanol and biodiesel. There is a heavy emphasis on farming production for this industry and a large
share of employment is found in harvesting various types of feedstock. The United States is the largest
producer of liquid biofuels and Brazil s sugarcane industry is the largest employer of this segment.
The report also indicated that wind employment remained stable around 0.8 million jobs. There have
been policy changes in several countries that have reduced installation jobs. In other industries in this
market like operations and maintenance, they have experienced a little growth. The uncertainty about
future policies in these various countries has had an impact. This has resulted in a significant drop in
new US installations and caused weak markets in Europe and India. However, China and Canada have
experienced a surge. Form the more than 834,000 jobs, Europe has accounted for approximately
58,000 of those jobs
Solar heating and cooling has been difficult to assess due to the difficulty and methodology of
information gathering. It is, however, estimated that this industry has employed 0.5 million people of
which about 70% were in China. Since the data availability for solar heating, small hydro and
geothermal is relatively low there has been potential for underestimation of jobs.

Differences Of Teaching And Learning In The 21st Century
Teaching and learning in the 21st century is advanced and fast paced, however it is often discussed
when the continuous need and want for change occurs. As 21st century education is changing at a
rapid rate our students are now more educated and empowered than ever before. The constant change
in 21st century education links in with globalisation and the many factors that influence social change.
The discussion throughout this essay will entail the major differences between 21st and 20th century
teaching and learning. It will also discuss the major impacts that the changes in globalization, and
factors that influence social change have upon education today.
Twenty first century teaching and learning is the education system that we have today. It prepares our
young learners with the advanced skills to address their challenges within their future. Certain core
competencies such as collaboration, digital technology, literacy and critical thinking and problem
solving are supported by the communication, technology and education that is provided in the 21st
century. Comparing teaching and learning in the 20th century, to teaching and learning in the 21st
century a high and vast amount of change is existent. In the 20th century, learning was mainly
textbook driven, today learning is driven by re search, digital technology, and the world around the
learner. In the 20th century teachers would provide passive learning, today in the 21st century teachers
are now obliged to provide

The Endangered Species Act By Pete Mccloskey
I was inspired to get involved in politics in the 1970s by my local Congressman, Pete McCloskey, a
leading environmental advocate, co founder of the first Earth Day, and one of the original authors of
the Endangered Species Act. As a lifelong hiker and nature lover, two of my early heroes were John
Muir, the founder of the Sierra Club, and Rachel Carson, a leading conservationist of her time. Today,
I enjoy hiking through Catoctin Mountain Park, biking along the C and O Canal, and I am committed
to preserving the wildlife and natural resources of the 8th District and Maryland. Among my top
priorities as your Representative in Congress will be protecting nature and addressing climate
disruption by supporting a transition to a clean energy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will also support regulatory measures and incentives to conserve energy in buildings, homes, cars
and other transportation, as well as funding for mass transit.
Fracking / Fossil Fuels
The shale revolution has provided a new source of natural gas and energy independence for the United
States, but it must be carefully regulated to keep our nation s water supply safe and clean. That s why I
am a firm supporter of the Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act. In Congress, I will diligently
work to end the Halliburton Loophole, which has dangerously exempted fracking from necessary
federal environmental regulation, and I will advance efforts to create stronger regulations by the EPA
to ensure that hydraulic fracturing is practiced in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.
I also oppose the Keystone Pipeline and support ending costly fossil fuel subsidies, which totaled over
$18.5 billion in the United States in 2013.2 This is a waste of taxpayer money, as the top five oil
companies earned $93 billion in profit in the same year.3 In Congress, I will fight to end Republican
expansion of oil subsidies and instead focus on incentivizing the production of clean energy that will
eliminate our dependence on coal and oil companies.

Roman Gladiator Beliefs
In ancient Rome, violence, democracy and religion were commonly used in gladiatorial combat.
Gladiators, who were often criminals and slaves, were thrown into arenas and compelled to battle with
an animal or another gladiator. After the fights, spectators would use hand signals and certain calls to
display their opinion of the gladiator s fate, either life or death. The final decision was left up to a
single judge, who was often heavily influenced by the crowd s opinion. The Romans enjoyed these
spectacles because they believed their gods did as well. The gods wanted justice, so they found
entertainment and fulfillment in killing criminals and slaves. These three parts of gladiator fights
played a large role in gladiator fights, as criminals and slaves fought to their death in ancient Rome s
theaters.

religious. Each game honored the dead and if a gladiator died during the battle, a certain procedure
was to be completed. An attendant would strike a blow to the forehead of the dead. While doing so,
the attendant was clad in a hat with wings and an ivory romper representing the messenger god,
Hermes. The gladiator would then be escorted to the underworld . During this procedure, the emperor,
priests, and vestal virgins were present. They lent a certain pseudo religious air to the contests . Since
the Romans were so firm and committed to their religion, gladiator fights was an appropriate source of

The Importance Of Media In Mass Media
There are many different media outlets, and alternatives available to individuals in today s society to
receive information other than what is available in mass media. One alternative media is PBS. PBS is
unlike many programming stations around the nation. Their idea is to treat people like citizens and not
as consumers. On the Public Broadcasting Service website, it describes how their take on the news is
quite different from other stations. They believe that they are America s largest classroom, the Nation
s largest stage, and a trusted window to the world (2016). I am going to describe in the following
paper the background of the Public Broadcasting Service, how their view is different than corporate
giants, and what type of future does a company like this have in the kind of media world we live in
today.
Public Broadcasting Service is a different kind of media outlet than many. PBS different than other
media sectors because it is a private and a nonprofit corporation (2016). The people that make PBS the
company it is today is the people that belong to America s television. The people of America s
television are noncommercial, educational licensees that operate in 350 member stations and serve all
50 states (2016). PBS does not only provide broadcasting to the fifty states in the United States, but
they also inform the people of Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa (2016).

Operant Conditioning Reinforcement Analysis
Reading Summary: The second half of chapter 3 is about Operant Conditioning and how it works by
using different reinforcement techniques to mold behavior. The chapter covers the different types of
reinforcements such as positive, negative, extrinsic, intrinsic, primary secondary, social, activity, and
material. In operant conditioning a variety of these types of reinforcements can be used to shape and
condition a subject to behave in a specific way. Word Count: 67 Learning Theory: Behaviorism is
constructed upon stimulus response actions and the way in which things learn from what is around
them. It shows how the environment is something that can affect future actions of a being and how
people develop habits of thinking and doing. Word Count: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I was in grade school I had teachers that would reward students for good grades and positive
behavior thus making it more likely for us to work hard to do better. I remember receiving candy, a
material reinforcer, recess extensions, an activity reinforcer, and even activity passes, an activity
reinforcer, for doing well. If I proved to know the content well enough, then I was allowed to skip an
activity in class to do something more fun such as a craft or a game instead. Or sometimes, those who
did exceptionally well on a quiz would be allowed to go to lunch early which also meant a longer
recess. These incentives to do well positively reinforced my work ethic so that I was studying more
and working harder to achieve good grades. I noticed as I went through school that my work ethic
strengthened the more positive reinforcement I received. If I began to slip, and my effort level
decreased then I would receive negative reinforcement from my teachers in the form of a bad grade, a
secondary reinforcer. This would then signal me to work harder so that I would not receive the same
low grade as before. The consequences I encountered from both working hard and slacking off shaped
the way I behaved in school. When offered incentives to do well and negative consequences for not
performing as well, I was induced to work hard and get good grades. One particular example of
Operant Conditioning I remember from my early education was when my father promised my class
McDonalds lunch if all of us got 100% on our spelling test. I remember our entire class studying
harder than we had before to achieve a perfect score on our test. We ended up making our goal and
being the highest scoring class all year for spelling tests. My father s positive reinforcement of our
habit to study hard affected my class and for the rest of the year my class had a notably higher work

How Did The Vietnam War Affect The Use Of Guerrilla Warfare
Beyond the lack of support from the United States citizens, the biggest reason that we lost was the
lack of intel in regards to the enemy and the land. Before the Vietnam War, most of our wars had a
very obvious enemy that we were fighting but this war was not the case. The most common enemy in
this war which was referred to as North Vietnamese and they used a Guerrilla Warfare tactic and
would blend in with the Vietnamese citizens. Guerrilla Warfare is also known as a hit and run tactic,
the enemy would attack and then as quickly as they attacked they would disappear into the jungle

North Vietnamese and Americans is estimated to be seventy five to one. There was an estimated ten

village between North Vietnam and South Vietnam that was considered a demilitarized zone and was a
very important village in the war. In early 1962 the United States Military Command Vietnam
established an Army Special Forces base not too far from the small village so they can use it as a
launch pad for small patrols into Laos so they can block the North Vietnamese from infiltrating South
Vietnam. By January of 1968 approximately six thousand soldiers occupied this base. The battle
started slowly with just 5 marines that were on patrol being killed and escalated into a full on out war
with an estimated fifteen thousand North Vietnamese soldiers being killed. The battle lasted seventy
seven days and ended up being the worst loss during the Vietnam War.
The Vietnam War became the worst lost in United States history due to the lack of support from the
citizens and soldiers and the poor planning from the government and upper command in the military.

Analysis Of Rugrats And It Has Some Of The Most Memorable...
The 90 s was an era full of amazing television series and animation shows that depicted a wide range
of characters from a decent assortment of diverse backgrounds for the time. One of my favorite shows
was the series Rugrats and it has some of the most memorable and recognizable characters on the
planet. For this case study, I want to discuss Chuckie Finster. Chuckie is best known for being Tommy
Pickles best friend, his crazy red hair, his big purple glasses, and for being the skittish older friend of
the bunch who was always unsure of the world around them. Initially, this paper will focus on his
reluctant and meticulous nature, then a deep analysis of Chuckie and his underlying problems will
better help in attempting to find viable treatments that would potentially help Chuckie in the long
term.
The term abnormal is usually defined as any departure from the typical; therefore abnormal behavior
is any pattern of responding that is rare or unusual. (Poling, et.al, 1990, p.281) Looking throughout the
Rugrats series, I believe that Chuckie does display some abnormal behaviors, especially for his age. I
find that it is imperative to mention that the characters in this show are primarily toddlers under the
age of three, with Chuckie being two and his companions being about a year and a half years old. With
this in mind, one must realize that what is considered normal to toddlers is not always understood to
be normal in the real world and adult society. Identifying

What Is The Purpose Of The Odyssey
Provide significant details about the author (120 1): Homer
Homer, the author of The Odyssey , was believed to be blind. ( Homer )
Homer s writings were used to teach Greek students how to read in school (Beers 120).
Style5 conventions (121) The 5 conventions Homer uses in his writing are invocation
(invoking action), in medias res (middle of action), epic similes (comparing heroic events to events in
everyday life), metrical structure (6 syllables per line so a passage will be easier for a speaker to
memorize), and stock epithets (descriptive adjective) (Beers 121).
Philosophies Greeks believed in many gods, and due to Homer s blindness, many people believed that
Homer had godlike abilities. This is because it was said by philosophers that after losing one sense
other abilities became stronger, which meant that Homer s other senses had become godlike (Beers
120). Every time the Greeks found something that they didn t understand they created a God to
explain the phenomenon (Massa). The main gods that appear in The Odyssey are Zeus, the god of the
Sky, who saves Odysseus multiple times, Poseidon, the god of the ocean, who holds resentment
toward Odysseus, Hades, the god of the Underworld, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, justice, war,
civilization, and peace, and Hermes, the god of mischief, who saves Odysseus many times but fools
around with him first. (Massa).
Criticism I believe that Homer was criticized for the possible inaccuracy in his stories. Homer was

Conclusion:
Though india is achieving good economic growth in recent years it is not able to perform well in HDI
and it is even lagging behind many of the countries which are far behind India in respective of their
economic development.
This is due to the high inequalities in the state governmennts plans and schemes.as we have observed
good governance leads to an improved HDI,Indian government must has to implement certain policies
to enhance its HDI ranking.
Measures must be taken immediately as india in next few decades is going to have a hude
demographic dividend and if the government fails to provide basic things like education and health
then their will be no economic development and the demographic dividend will turn into demographic
liabilty.

An Interview On Child Welfare
As a helping professional focused on child welfare, educational resources are essential to provide
children with adequate support. Often times, the children s advocates, caregivers and volunteers, need
assistance connecting with the school to secure social work services. There have been countless
occurrences where the child is faltering academically and the school is unaware that they are in foster
care. The teachers are overworked and unable to identity which children are in the greatest need
because there are many who struggle. Linking the advocates with social workers will help increase the
likelihood of the children s success. Increasing the awareness of the children s advocates, informing
them of the available resources, enhances their support system. An interview was conducted with a
social worker for several public schools to increase awareness of the free services offered to families
and children within the district. An interview was conducted with Ashley Fortune MSW, a school
social worker for several schools within Gilbert Public School District. Ashley Fortune received her
Bachelors in Social Work from Arizona State University, subsequently receiving her Masters in Social
Work. Throughout the duration of Mrs. Fortune s professional career, she explored various roles
within the field of social work. Post completion of her Bachelors, she worked in residential center for

Society as we know it has evolved tremendously in regards to the way we communicate and interact
with one another. There is a significant difference between the way we used to get in touch with our

Everyone get to have the opportunity and satisfaction of being a friend to someone or making friends
with a group of people. We must sincerely take a step back and ask ourselves, at what cost do we get
this easy access of making friendship? At the cost of befriending new people, without actually putting
in the necessary work and actions to build the foundations of that friendship (Q. Ta, Jenny 20014).
Most of these new friends that are being made every day are people that we cease to even meet face to
face during our lifetime. Some of these friends just remain behind the screens which we view them,
and we never even get to socialize out in public with those set of people that we befriended. There is a
major concern for the children population and adolescents all over the world in regards to social
networking. Minors can have access to a wide ranging digital world all from the bases of their
computer and handheld devices. The major networking sites such as Facebook along with the others
offer a portal for entertainment and linkage to meeting new people and friends. The risk and hazard for
potential child molesters, rapist, and murderers reaching the children have grown to sky rocket

Emotional Abuse And Neglect
Sneddon (2003) explained emotional abuse as the emotional mistreatment or negative response of the
child. Emotional abuse can include sustained rhythmic inappropriate emotional responses and
reactions to the child s emotions and behavior. For example, an inappropriate response may involve a
parent getting angry with the child in reaction to the child unintentionally breaking something and
yelling at the child extremely or calling the child names. In addition, other emotionally abusive
behaviors include terrorizing or belittling the child, isolating them from others, and rejection. Turner et
al. (2012) added that emotional maltreatment might include hostile parenting, such as poor stability,
inconsistency, negative interactions, low nurturing, coercion, and rejection of the child. ... Show more

There are varying definitions among advocacy groups, clinicians, and lawmakers. It is especially not
easy to prove actual, measureable harm to the child due to the emotional nature of the abuse
(Hamarman, Pope, Czaja, 2002). Smith Slep, Heyman, and Snarr (2011) outlined the difficulty in
defining emotional abuse, and also took into reflection cultural factors. Internationally, verbal
punishment is used 70 85% of the time (e.g. yelling). The question is then asked, is this emotional
abuse or is it piece of a family or group culture? After examining research and other definitions of
emotional abuse, their findings and definition support Sneddon s (2003) definition of emotional abuse,
outlining parental behaviors such as, degrading, humiliating, threatening, berating, abandoning, or
coercing the child, and using extreme discipline. Although there are many opinions and definitions
surrounding emotional abuse, there is agreement on the devastating effects caused by these behaviors

The Scandinavian Banking Crisis Of 1990
The Scandinavian Banking Crisis of 1990 Focus Sweden
This essay was done by William Segrave, and Muhidul Hussain only.
The majority of banking crises in last 30 years have been caused be deregulation of the banking
industry followed by rapid unstable credit expansion leading to a unsustainable asset pricing bubbles.
Scandinavian Banking Crisis was not exception. When the bubble bursts, the effects can ripple
through the entire economy, and can cause massive disruption and loss in confidence.
By 1985 Sweden was experiencing higher inflation rates that many other similar countries, caused by
high interest rates and volatile currency. Due to high inflation and a real after tax interest rates were
low or even negative. It is only following the banking crash that Swedish households faced positive
borrowing costs for the first time in 30 years. The Swedish economy managed to have negative
interest rates for so long due to the banking regulations, which were soon the be lifted.
Sweden had a regulated banking sector. Banks, insurance companies, and other institutions were
subjected to lending ceilings, and placement requirements (liquidity ratios) required them to invest in
bonds issued by the government and by mortgage institutions. Large budget deficits and an ambitious
programme for residential investment led to a situation where banks were required to hold more than
50 per cent of their assets in such bonds, typically with long maturities and with interest rates being

Perseverance Reflection
When I first started to think about what the theme of my lesson was going to be, I immediately
thought about my preschool and pre k students that I work with on a daily basis. What are they
learning now? What are some important concepts in life that haven t been taught in depth? What
concept can be difficult to comprehend without implementing drama? These were just some of the
many questions that were going through my head. When I first came across the book The Most
Magnificent Thing by Ashley Speirs, I immediately was captured by the theme of perseverance in the
book. The week that I found the book, I had been working with a student who was trying to complete
a puzzle and she was getting frustrated. I sat down with her and encouraged her to continue trying and
with a little help she completed the puzzle. The look on her face when she completed that puzzle was
electrifying. She was so excited and so proud of herself when she finally fit that last piece into the
puzzle. This experience helped me when choosing the topic of my monologue because when I came
across the book, I realized that the concept of perseverance would be a perfect concept to teach
through the integration of drama. One reason, I felt like the integration of drama would be so useful in
teaching this concept was that many students are probably able to comprehend the definition of
perseverance, but what does perseverance look like? How does it feel when you persevere? That is
where I thought integrating drama

Socrates And The Apology Of Socrates
Socrates is quite the unique individual compared to most, if not all, other Greeks at that time. In the
Apology, Socrates gives an analogy of himself being a gadfly and that his gadfly like actions are
favorable for Athens and that the actions are goods he is providing. From his service he claims to live
a more private life than a public life when discussing virtue. This paper is going to discuss Socrates
and his analogy of a gadfly, approach to others about virtue, his conduct effect on democracy, and a
comparison to a contemporary person that is similar to him. Firstly is Socrates analogy of himself
being a gadfly. He states ... you will not easily find another who, if I may use a ludicrous comparison,
clings to the state as a sort of gadfly to a horse that is large and well bred but rather sluggish from its
size, and needing to be aroused (Mulvaney 24). Socrates has said before that he absolutely adores
Athens. It is known for being a wise and strong city, and he would not leave Athens. He wants Athens
to remain that way and he tries to provoke people to act that way by examining them. Socrates wanted
people to be their true self and improve their personality. He talks to people in person or small groups
and this is where the comparison to a gadfly can be valid. A gadfly is small compared to a large bulky
horse, but when the fly stings the horse one part will twitch in turn causing another part to twitch.
Socrates is the gadfly and his actions permeate throughout the

Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst and The Tunnel By Doris Lessing both present two characters that
attempted to benefit themselves and as a result they experience a transformation from Innocence to

embarrassment because he is so ashamed of his own brother he attempts to suffocate him. By the age

Reasons For Going Hybrid Cars
8 Reasons to Go Hybrid 8 Reasons to Go Hybrid Sales of hybrid vehicles in the United States have
jumped from a curiosity of 17 sales in 1999 to 470,383 in 2014.[1] The annual growth rate of the
hybrid market has advanced across all makes and models and includes luxury vehicles, family sedans
and economy vehicles. Hybrid car owners can save hundreds of dollars on fuel costs, get maintenance
costs that are comparable to gas powered vehicles by spreading them over the life of the cars, enjoy
tax incentives and driving perks and find hybrid vehicles in attractive models from their favorite
manufacturers.[2] Hybrid Technology Becomes Increasingly Common This article will explore some
of the benefits of going hybrid, which include getting lower fuel costs, driving greener, cutting noise
pollution and reducing dependency on foreign oil. Increased hybrid options include affordable and
indulgent Hondas, Subarus, Acuras and many other models for single drivers, families and business
transportation. Benefits of going hybrid include but aren t limited to the following advantages: 1.
Increased Fuel Efficiency The Toyota Prius leads the market in hybrid fuel efficiency, according to
FuelEconomy.org, because the model gets almost about 50 MPG no matter where you drive or live.[2]
Other hybrid cars also get mileage ratings of more than 40 MPG. Hybrid cars can achieve these
astonishing efficiency ratings while enjoying the full range of torque, acc acceleration and driving

National Apology Case Study
A landmark event for Aboriginal People s struggle for rights is February 13, 2008, when in Federal
Parliament the then Prime Minister Kevin Rudd stood up to apologise to the Aboriginal People, for
Australia s past mistreatment on laws, policies and practices that effected the people of the stolen
generation (Welch, 2008 and National Sorry Day Committee, 2014). Aboriginal People have struggled
for rights since the British came to Australia but it was especially highlighted when the Aborigines Act
1905 came out. There were multiple things that lead to this landmark event, though the Bringing them
Home Report in 1997 was a huge step in helping the apology to come about (National Sorry Day
Committee, 2014). This essay will discuss in more depth what led to this event, what the goals of the
apology were, what the outcomes were and the ongoing impact has resulted.

Domestic-Based Terrorism Research Paper
Prior to the terror attacks of September 11th on the twin towers, life was far different than its current
regime. The Unites States wasn t officially involved in any wars, few Americans had ever heard of al
Qaeda or Osama bin Laden, and ISIS was inexistent. We deported half the number of people we do
today. Our surveillance state was a fraction of its current size and, astonishingly, you didn t have to
take your shoes off at the airport. The terror attacks prompted new attitudes and concerns about
vigilance and safety, bringing forth new policies that prioritized national security and defence like the
USA Patriot Act. These new attitudes have shaped the American people into a different state of mind,
one that is constantly suspicious of someone of the muslim origin, leaving openings for the
unsuspected people, the ones from home. Under the current United States law, ... Show more content

United States Foreign Policy and the War on Terrorism
In very general terms, it could be said that the United States makes foreign policy decisions based on
what we hope are the best interests of its citizens. On the surface, it would appear as if this has been
the case over the past several months, as the U.S. has waged its war against terrorism. If one were to
penetrate this surface, however, they would see that there is much more to this conflict than meets the
eye. Is Operation Enduring Freedom indeed justifiable? Most people would say yes, it is in our best
interests, because our forces are fighting against an injustice, for the purposes of establishing a
peaceful environment and bringing about humanitarian relief, which will ... Show more content on

Unfortunately, this has not been the case in Afghanistan. The United States reacted far too quickly in
declaring the war on terrorism. The Bush administration did not outline clear goals for the war, and in
their haste to fight the cause, and bring justice to the American people, they completely overlooked the
potential impact of their actions on non American citizens.
A major concern regarding the war in Afghanistan is the fact that there may have been more civilian
casualties as a result of bombings than there were in the attacks on the World Trade Center. The
estimates vary widely, but it has been suggested that at least 4000 people have died in Afghanistan
since the bombing campaigns began, although no one can come up with concrete numbers at this
point. Furthermore, this is only one conflict. The same is true regarding the large number of people
who have died in Iraq in the last decade, whether it was due to bombings, or because they suffered as a
result of economic sanctions imposed by the United States. These killings are reprehensible, and, as
Kathryn Sikkink, a political science professor at the University of Minnesota claims, ?military
methods that inevitably lead to significant civilian deaths are inconsistent with a human rights
approach, regardless of the intentions of the planners (SSRC).?

Designing A Design A Structure And Present It
The very first architect can be traced all the way back to the 27th century BC in ancient Egypt. His
name was Imhotep, who designed and planned the Pyramid of Djoser and is said to be responsible for
being the first to use columns in architecture (McRae). An architect can be described as some who
designs, plans, and perhaps even constructs buildings. Within the broad definition, the job of an
architect s spreads throughout the spectrum. Architects do much more than simply design a structure
and present it to a client. An architect must carry a variety of characteristics and knowledge that can
vary from project to project. Architects find themselves having to study a series of subjects such as
psychology, real estate, to even politics that contribute to their careers. Overall, an architect has to an
extent three basic sets of skills: math, drawing, and creative thinking. Architects use these three skills
in order to succeed in their field.
Although these three skills are necessary, many architects are not masters at these skills; many more
are afraid of having to know complex mathematics. Architect students will need the necessary skills of
math, drawing, and creative thinking in order to become successful architects. The rumors that an
architect has to be a mastermind in math is essentially false. Many architects agree that math used
daily is simple trigonometry to even easier addition, subtractions and division. While it is no lie that
math is used in architecture, it

Women In The Mexican Revolution
The Mexican Revolution was long and violent uprising of the people, that was caused by many

and the women are hidden from history with their story not being told. Before the Mexican Revolution
women were completely silent and hidden as they were supposed to be completely devoted to their
marriage, their family, and the catholic church. The Mexican Revolution gave these women a chance
to transform their roles within society and be recognized. Over the years, the image of the soldadera

into battle with their children on their backs. 2 They were everyday women who had roles that the
society viewed as normal. They were women who had families and took care of them at all stations of
life. Unfortunately due to female erasure in history the view portrayed in the picture distorted the
image of soldaderas because in reality, they were ordinary women that were extraordinary only in
their will to fight for what they believed in. 3 They were over sexualized and were viewed as women
that were there to please the male soldiers and provide their womanly charm on the battlefield so the
soldiers were not lonely. Other than the oversexualized depiction of them they were [also] depicted as

were trying to work for equality while being loyal to what they believed in. These depictions often
coincide with the roles that the women had during the Revolution. There many roles that the women

How Is Mark Antony Sympathetic
Mark Antony is one of the loyal and true friends of Julius Caesar. Most all the people of Rome loved
him, except those who wanted to have his power that he was going to attain of everyone. After Rome

Why Did Ancient Astronomers Study
Star Spotters by David Jefferis 8 202
Question: How did ancient astronomers study the sky?
Answer: These people used their eyes to look at the stars, moon, and sun. They also used an astrolabe
which could pinpoint and predict the moon, stars, planets, and sun s location. This information helped
them know when to plant their crops.
Question: What positive things does the sun do for us?
Answer: Life on Earth wouldn t be possible without the sun. It gives us light and warmth. Also, by
studying the sun, we can predict weather forecasts. These aided farmers in knowing when they should

grand scale one of the most absurd things I have read in some time. No law pertaining to say guns,

The British Soldier As A Drunken Brute
The beginning of the nineteenth century found the British army already engaged for the last seven
years in a war with the French. This war to oppose Napoleon would last until 1815, by which time the
British would be victorious. This triumphant British army, although successful throughout their
campaign with the French, was not openly considered a humble and advantageous force for society. In
fact, the common stereotype and popular image of the British soldier was negative, as the Duke of
Wellington stated the soldiers were the scum of the earth who have all enlisted to drink .1 For the
majority of the soldiers, this label was given inappropriately and carelessly. The Autobiography of
Sergeant William Lawrence, a British soldier who fought in the Peninsula and Waterloo Campaigns
during his fourteen year military career, offers an insight into the lives of the labelled soldiers and
interpretation of whether this label can be deemed accurate.
The idea of the British soldier as a drunken brute is inaccurate. The men who enlisted to fight against
Napoleon were more often than not forced to do so out of economic necessity. Soldiers delinquencies
seemed to many contemporaries to be the unavoidable result of the type of men who enlisted. 2 The
British army was made from voluntary enlistment, and this was thought to have produced a body of
army that was inferior in both character and discipline to the past British armies. For the volunteers,

Advantages Of Traditional Poe

Ariane Quenum

Abstract
Power over Ethernet or PoE is a technology that dispense electrical power and data transmission to
devices, such as IP cameras or phones, access points wireless or bluetooth. PoE devices that are placed
in remote locations stop not only the need for power outlets, but also cut down the installation costs
and enable the network devices to be adaptable in that region. Consumers and vendors of IP phones
were either supplying local power through an AC (alternating current) electrical outlet or using non
standards based proprietary solutions to provide inline powering. The release of 802.3af came ... Show

Since PoE is used by terminating equipment it consumes little power.
Besides being used in IP telephones, cameras or wireless transmission, PoE can assure a better safety
of a network while it operates as an inessential power supply. PoE makes the network planning
flexible and independent of switch cabinets and sockets. For a better security, it is necessary to shut
down all the PDs that are not in use or not necessary in the office or where are being used. Also with
the popularity of the PoE. it is very easy to use PoE with a variety of other devices.
On one hand, we have Power over Ethernet PSE (Power Supplying Equipment) which supplies PoE
PD devices with electricity via the data cable and is also a source of voltage. It may use either End
Span or Mid Span. The end span method basically means that there is a hardware device such as a
PoE capable switch at the beginning of the twisted pair cable. A PoE capable switch simply defines a
switch that has the capability of transmitting DC voltage over the twisted pair cable along with data.
Figure 1: Power supplied from LAN equipment with end span PSE
The other method, known as Mid span, provides power on the twisted pair cable at some point after
the switch/router but before the device you are powering. An example of a Mid span device would be
something like a Single Port PoE injector (Planet3 Wireless, 2005). A Single Port PoE injector has a
port for the incoming Ethernet cable, a cord for the

  • 2. Editha Character Analysis Sometimes the consequences of war are overlooked because of the circumstances. In this story, William Dean Howells uses his characters to convey his own views on war. One can easily tell that he was in no way a supporter. He does an outstanding job demonstrating the many reasons war is harmful. Through the main character of his story Editha , William Dean Howells reveals that war is not glorious, but is instead destructive. Editha s character conveys the ignorance of the common people by highlighting the impractical ideas she has about the war. Her beliefs gave a false hope and an unrealistic expectation as to what the ramifications of war actually are. From evidence in the story, one would infer that the story was set during the Spanish American ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only does war impact American families, but also America s enemies families. War is heartbreaking, so it is unsettling that Editha chose to ignore the consequences of war just because George is fighting under the American flag. When the two were discussing the war, Editha states that there are no two sides anymore and there is nothing now but our country (Howells). As long as America is first, she has no regards for anyone else in the world. She is justifying the murder of people in the name of American patriotism. This almost makes the lives taken during war seem less valuable, which is unacceptable. Through a letter that Editha wrote to George, she affirms her unawareness regarding war. In the letter, she states that if George does not enlist, she will break off the engagement because the man she would marry must be devoted to his country first (Free). Editha lives in Northern New York, where it is difficult to see the repercussions of war. Because of this, Editha does not seem to care that war affects every country involved, not just America. At the end of the story when Editha visits the Gearson family, Mrs. Gearson remarks you thought it would be all right for my George, your George, to kill the sons of those miserable mothers and the husbands of those girls that you would never see the faces of (Howells). Her sarcasm emphasizes her strong ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Functional Genomic Analysis of C. elegans Using RNA... Introduction Before we talk about this important experiment, do you know what a nematode is? Specifically, this experiment used Caenorhabditis elegans, C. elegans for short. C. elegans is a little worm (just like the kind you find in the ground), but has a very special place in modern biochemistry: scientists have mapped its entire genomic sequence. This sequence lets scientists know the character and location of all C. elegans genes. However, biochemists do not yet fully understand what each gene does and the goal of this experiment is to find the function of each gene within the worm. The connection between a worm s genotype and phenotype is important, because, believe it or not, human beings and worms share many of the same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All eukaryotic cells get their genetic information from DNA, which are strands of nucleotides whose order conveys genetic information to the cell. Structurally, DNA looks like a ladder. A DNA strand is made up of a sugar phosphate backbone (similar to the sides of a ladder, alternating sugar and phosphate) and is connected in the middle with paired purines and pyrimidines (fancy names for four chemicals that make up the steps of the ladder). Scientists refer to the distinctive shape of DNA as a double helix. DNA replication is necessary for organisms to stay alive and reproduce. When cells replicate, the DNA must also be copied so the daughter cells contain the genetic information necessary to perform key chemical reactions. Cells have machinery that read the information in DNA and use these instructions to make proteins. To make proteins, the DNA must first unwind in order to be read. This small section is then replicated to form a single stranded RNA strand. The RNA strand then forms what is called messenger RNA or simply mRNA. The mRNA is used to make the proteins the cell needs. In some viruses, however, the genetic material is double stranded RNA (known as dsRNA), rather than DNA. These viruses inject their dsRNA into a host s cell. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. How Did Alexander The Great Affect The Age Of The... Imagine a world without splendorous leisure activities. The people of the Hellenistic Age most certainly couldn t! The creation of their extravagant culture that focused on the enjoyment of life and the understanding of human emotion is owed to Alexander the Great s conquest of Persia and his decision to mix his native Greek culture with the cultures of the new lands he now owned in his vast empire. This extremely intriguing age, which lasted for about 300 years, was responsible for many of the ideas that are still upheld in today s culture, and the people of this time established many important artistic and philosophical ideals that have lasted for thousands of years. The Hellenistic Age began after the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BCE (atg timeline). His conquest of Persia after the Battle of Gaugamela in 331 BCE technically spurred Hellenism, or the spreading of Greek culture (adtp). Alexander the Great s empire of over seventy cities spread all the way from the west of the Mediterranean to the east of Persia, and became a hotbed for the mixing of cultures (thought co). People within this territory assimilated the Greek language, which then allowed for the spread of other parts of Greek culture, like arts, philosophy, and literature (world of atg). Differences Of Teaching And Learning In The 21st Century Teaching and learning in the 21st century is advanced and fast paced, however it is often discussed when the continuous need and want for change occurs. As 21st century education is changing at a rapid rate our students are now more educated and empowered than ever before. The constant change in 21st century education links in with globalisation and the many factors that influence social change. Gladiators, who were often criminals and slaves, were thrown into arenas and compelled to battle with an animal or another gladiator. After the fights, spectators would use hand signals and certain calls to display their opinion of the gladiator s fate, either life or death. The final decision was left up to a single judge, who was often heavily influenced by the crowd s opinion. The Romans enjoyed these spectacles because they believed their gods did as well. The gods wanted justice, so they found entertainment and fulfillment in killing criminals and slaves. On the Public Broadcasting Service website, it describes how their take on the news is quite different from other stations. They believe that they are America s largest classroom, the Nation s largest stage, and a trusted window to the world (2016). In operant conditioning a variety of these types of reinforcements can be used to shape and condition a subject to behave in a specific way. When I was in grade school I had teachers that would reward students for good grades and positive behavior thus making it more likely for us to work hard to do better. I remember receiving candy, a material reinforcer, recess extensions, an activity reinforcer, and even activity passes, an activity reinforcer, for doing well. If I proved to know the content well enough, then I was allowed to skip an activity in class to do something more fun such as a craft or a game instead. Or sometimes, those who did exceptionally well on a quiz would be allowed to go to lunch early which also meant a longer recess. These incentives to do well positively reinforced my work ethic so that I was studying more and working harder to achieve good grades. I noticed as I went through school that my work ethic strengthened the more positive reinforcement I received. If I began to slip, and my effort level decreased then I would receive negative reinforcement from my teachers in the form of a bad grade, a secondary reinforcer. This would then signal me to work harder so that I would not receive the same low grade as before. The consequences I encountered from both working hard and slacking off shaped the way I behaved in school. When offered incentives to do well and negative consequences for not performing as well, I was induced to work hard and get good grades. One particular example of Operant Conditioning I remember from my early education was when my father promised my class McDonalds lunch if all of us got 100% on our spelling test. I remember our entire class studying harder than we had before to achieve a perfect score on our test. We ended up making our goal and being the highest scoring class all year for spelling tests. The 90 s was an era full of amazing television series and animation shows that depicted a wide range of characters from a decent assortment of diverse backgrounds for the time. One of my favorite shows was the series Rugrats and it has some of the most memorable and recognizable characters on the planet. For this case study, I want to discuss Chuckie Finster. Chuckie is best known for being Tommy Pickles best friend, his crazy red hair, his big purple glasses, and for being the skittish older friend of the bunch who was always unsure of the world around them. Initially, this paper will focus on his reluctant and meticulous nature, then a deep analysis of Chuckie and his underlying problems will better help in attempting to find viable treatments that would potentially help Chuckie in the long term. The term abnormal is usually defined as any departure from the typical; therefore abnormal behavior is any pattern of responding that is rare or unusual. (Poling, et.al, 1990, p.281) Looking throughout the Rugrats series, I believe that Chuckie does display some abnormal behaviors, especially for his age. I find that it is imperative to mention that the characters in this show are primarily toddlers under the age of three, with Chuckie being two and his companions being about a year and a half years old. With this in mind, one must realize that what is considered normal to toddlers is not always understood to be normal in the real world and adult society. Identifying ... ( Homer ) Homer s writings were used to teach Greek students how to read in school (Beers 120). Style5 conventions (121) The 5 conventions Homer uses in his writing are invocation (invoking action), in medias res (middle of action), epic similes (comparing heroic events to events in everyday life), metrical structure (6 syllables per line so a passage will be easier for a speaker to memorize), and stock epithets (descriptive adjective) (Beers 121). Philosophies Greeks believed in many gods, and due to Homer s blindness, many people believed that Homer had godlike abilities. This is because it was said by philosophers that after losing one sense other abilities became stronger, which meant that Homer s other senses had become godlike (Beers 120). Every time the Greeks found something that they didn t understand they created a God to explain the phenomenon (Massa). The main gods that appear in The Odyssey are Zeus, the god of the Sky, who saves Odysseus multiple times, Poseidon, the god of the ocean, who holds resentment toward Odysseus, Hades, the god of the Underworld, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, justice, war, civilization, and peace, and Hermes, the god of mischief, who saves Odysseus many times but fools around with him first. These were just some of the many questions that were going through my head. When I first came across the book The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Speirs, I immediately was captured by the theme of perseverance in the book. The week that I found the book, I had been working with a student who was trying to complete a puzzle and she was getting frustrated. I sat down with her and encouraged her to continue trying and with a little help she completed the puzzle. The look on her face when she completed that puzzle was electrifying. She was so excited and so proud of herself when she finally fit that last piece into the puzzle. This experience helped me when choosing the topic of my monologue because when I came across the book, I realized that the concept of perseverance would be a perfect concept to teach through the integration of drama. • 28. National Apology Case Study A landmark event for Aboriginal People s struggle for rights is February 13, 2008, when in Federal Parliament the then Prime Minister Kevin Rudd stood up to apologise to the Aboriginal People, for Australia s past mistreatment on laws, policies and practices that effected the people of the stolen generation (Welch, 2008 and National Sorry Day Committee, 2014). Aboriginal People have struggled for rights since the British came to Australia but it was especially highlighted when the Aborigines Act 1905 came out. There were multiple things that lead to this landmark event, though the Bringing them Home Report in 1997 was a huge step in helping the apology to come about (National Sorry Day Committee, 2014). • 29. Domestic-Based Terrorism Research Paper Prior to the terror attacks of September 11th on the twin towers, life was far different than its current regime. The Unites States wasn t officially involved in any wars, few Americans had ever heard of al Qaeda or Osama bin Laden, and ISIS was inexistent. We deported half the number of people we do today. Our surveillance state was a fraction of its current size and, astonishingly, you didn t have to take your shoes off at the airport. The terror attacks prompted new attitudes and concerns about vigilance and safety, bringing forth new policies that prioritized national security and defence like the USA Patriot Act. These new attitudes have shaped the American people into a different state of mind, one that is constantly suspicious of someone of the muslim origin, leaving openings for the unsuspected people, the ones from home. United States Foreign Policy and the War on Terrorism In very general terms, it could be said that the United States makes foreign policy decisions based on what we hope are the best interests of its citizens. On the surface, it would appear as if this has been the case over the past several months, as the U.S. has waged its war against terrorism. If one were to penetrate this surface, however, they would see that there is much more to this conflict than meets the eye. Is Operation Enduring Freedom indeed justifiable? Most people would say yes, it is in our best interests, because our forces are fighting against an injustice, for the purposes of establishing a peaceful environment and bringing about humanitarian relief, which will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, this has not been the case in Afghanistan. The United States reacted far too quickly in declaring the war on terrorism. The Bush administration did not outline clear goals for the war, and in their haste to fight the cause, and bring justice to the American people, they completely overlooked the potential impact of their actions on non American citizens. A major concern regarding the war in Afghanistan is the fact that there may have been more civilian casualties as a result of bombings than there were in the attacks on the World Trade Center. The estimates vary widely, but it has been suggested that at least 4000 people have died in Afghanistan since the bombing campaigns began, although no one can come up with concrete numbers at this point. Furthermore, this is only one conflict. The same is true regarding the large number of people who have died in Iraq in the last decade, whether it was due to bombings, or because they suffered as a result of economic sanctions imposed by the United States. These killings are reprehensible, and, as Kathryn Sikkink, a political science professor at the University of Minnesota claims, ?military methods that inevitably lead to significant civilian deaths are inconsistent with a human rights approach, regardless of the intentions of the planners (SSRC).? His name was Imhotep, who designed and planned the Pyramid of Djoser and is said to be responsible for being the first to use columns in architecture (McRae). An architect can be described as some who designs, plans, and perhaps even constructs buildings. Within the broad definition, the job of an architect s spreads throughout the spectrum. Architects do much more than simply design a structure and present it to a client. An architect must carry a variety of characteristics and knowledge that can vary from project to project. Architects find themselves having to study a series of subjects such as psychology, real estate, to even politics that contribute to their careers. Overall, an architect has to an extent three basic sets of skills: math, drawing, and creative thinking. Architects use these three skills in order to succeed in their field. Although these three skills are necessary, many architects are not masters at these skills; many more are afraid of having to know complex mathematics. Architect students will need the necessary skills of math, drawing, and creative thinking in order to become successful architects. The rumors that an architect has to be a mastermind in math is essentially false. Many architects agree that math used daily is simple trigonometry to even easier addition, subtractions and division. They were women who had families and took care of them at all stations of life. Unfortunately due to female erasure in history the view portrayed in the picture distorted the image of soldaderas because in reality, they were ordinary women that were extraordinary only in their will to fight for what they believed in. 3 They were over sexualized and were viewed as women that were there to please the male soldiers and provide their womanly charm on the battlefield so the soldiers were not lonely. Other than the oversexualized depiction of them they were [also] depicted as loyal, self sacrificing companions to the soldiers or, in less sympathetic renderings, as enslaved camp followers: the loyalty of the soldier s wife is more akin to that of a dog to its master than to that of an intelligent woman to her mate. 3 While these depictions may have covered some women, most women were trying to work for equality while being loyal to what they believed in. This war to oppose Napoleon would last until 1815, by which time the British would be victorious. This triumphant British army, although successful throughout their campaign with the French, was not openly considered a humble and advantageous force for society. In fact, the common stereotype and popular image of the British soldier was negative, as the Duke of Wellington stated the soldiers were the scum of the earth who have all enlisted to drink .1 For the majority of the soldiers, this label was given inappropriately and carelessly. The Autobiography of Sergeant William Lawrence, a British soldier who fought in the Peninsula and Waterloo Campaigns during his fourteen year military career, offers an insight into the lives of the labelled soldiers and interpretation of whether this label can be deemed accurate. The idea of the British soldier as a drunken brute is inaccurate. The men who enlisted to fight against Napoleon were more often than not forced to do so out of economic necessity. Soldiers delinquencies seemed to many contemporaries to be the unavoidable result of the type of men who enlisted. 2 The British army was made from voluntary enlistment, and this was thought to have produced a body of army that was inferior in both character and discipline to the past British armies. PoE devices that are placed in remote locations stop not only the need for power outlets, but also cut down the installation costs and enable the network devices to be adaptable in that region. Besides being used in IP telephones, cameras or wireless transmission, PoE can assure a better safety of a network while it operates as an inessential power supply. PoE makes the network planning flexible and independent of switch cabinets and sockets. For a better security, it is necessary to shut down all the PDs that are not in use or not necessary in the office or where are being used. Also with the popularity of the PoE. it is very easy to use PoE with a variety of other devices. On one hand, we have Power over Ethernet PSE (Power Supplying Equipment) which supplies PoE PD devices with electricity via the data cable and is also a source of voltage. It may use either End Span or Mid Span. The end span method basically means that there is a hardware device such as a PoE capable switch at the beginning of the twisted pair cable. A PoE capable switch simply defines a switch that has the capability of transmitting DC voltage over the twisted pair cable along with data.
