Essay on Summary of The Goal
Summary of The Goal
Alex Rogo is manager for one of UniCo s production plants. Recently Alex s plant, as well as the
others in his division, have been having major problems shipping orders on time. The company has
considered closing the plant and has given Alex only three months to make a significant
improvement or the plant will be closed and he as well as all of his employees will be without a
job. At this point everything seems to be crashing down around him while at a meeting, discussing
the future of the division, he recalls a chance encounter with an old acquaintance, a physicist named
Jonah. During their discussion Alex discovers that Jonah is currently involved in the science of
manufacturing organizations. Intrigued Alex ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bottlenecks are the areas (machines) in the plant that are constantly holding back the
production of the finished product. The philosophy behind this will become clear in a moment.
Philosophy of Ongoing Improvement Since the beginning of the industrial revolution
manufacturing organizations have followed the rules that idle time is lost time. That the only way to
make money is to keep everyone and everything operating at 100 percent. When in fact a plant that
runs it s resources at 100 percent all the time is actually a very inefficient plant. Most of the time
the struggle to meet efficiencies is taking the organization further away from it s goal. Excess
production creates excess inventories that in turn ties up money and slows down or impedes cash
flows. The key to balancing production is to search out those places in the plant that slows down all
the processes behind it, essentially a bottleneck. Obviously the bottleneck can t just be removed so
the rest of the process must be governed by the speed at which the bottlenecks can operate.
Release of materials must be staggered so that just as a batch is sent through the bottleneck another
batch is waiting in front of it to be processed. No other non bottleneck area can be allowed to
operate faster than the bottlenecks can handle otherwise the inventories will begin to climb again.

Structures Of Viruses
Viruses Viruses look different from one another. There are two structures for a virus, it s either
icosahedral or helical. The virus that is icosahedral can appear to be spherical or if you look
close enough it s icosahedral. This virus is made up of equilateral triangles. It s arranged into a
symmetrical fashion. A prolate is found in the bacteriophage of an icosahedral virus. Many animal
viruses or many viruses overall are icosahedral or helical. A helical virus has a capsid shaped into
a rod shape structure or a filamentous structure. Some of them are short while others are longer. It s
made up of genetic material and protein. Why they are a different from eukaryotes because they are
not made of cells and are not cells. All kind of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first reason is that they are helping us increase our knowledge in biology. Scientists learned
lots of new things thanks to viruses. For example, the basic technology of genetic manipulation
was developed from studies with bacterial viruses Another reason is that we use viruses a lot in
vaccines. Thanks to vaccines, our body creates antibodies to defeat the virus in the vaccine. This
is why you can be sick after getting a vaccine. Then when we actually get the virus, our body will
already have antibodies to use and defeat it. An example, is the influenza shot. Once you get it,
our body will create antibodies to fight off the virus. If you do get the influenza, it won t last as
long as it would have if you didn t get the shot. Viruses can also help with diseases. If a person is
missing a gene in one of their cells. we can modify the virus genetic material to have to missing
gene. Of course, scientists make sure that the virus won t get the person sick. Viruses can also
help with cancer prevention and how to control it. Sure there are vaccines but there is also
Virotherapy. Some viruses have been used to kill cancerous cells. There is a lot more reasons why
viruses can help us but I couldn t list them

Two Places Research Paper
A place were I lose all my worries. A place that brings me happiness. A place that makes me feel
in paradise. That place, is the beach. I remember going there with my family on a bright sunny
Saturday. Smiles on everyone s face, no negative energy but pure positive. It was a nice and
enjoyable day, I had lots of fun playing with my family in the water and also enjoying a
delicious lunch together. I hope someday, we can have another day like this where we can forget
about work and school and just enjoy a day full of excitement. Whenever that day may be, I just
hope it s legitimately soon. We all woke up early to arrive at an early time. My mom and dad

Fate Vs Free Will In Macbeth
In the Shakespearean tragedy Macbeth, the theme Fate vs. Free Will is shown throughout the play
in many different ways. The main person that this theme relates to is Macbeth, specifically when he
makes decisions on how to become king and take over Scotland.
In the beginning of the play, Macbeth starts out as the Thane of Glamis. It appears that he will
become a great fearless leader in this position. In act one, the witches tell Macbeth the first set of
prophecies. They tell him that he will become king of Scotland one day and is going to be named
the Thane of Cawdor in the meantime. All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Glamis! All hail,
Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor! All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter! (act

The Ethics Of Group Counseling
Ethics in Group Counseling According to the American Counseling Association (ACA, 2014)
Code of Ethics, ethical principles are based on a set of values that include autonomy,
nonmaleficence, beneficence, justice, fidelity, and veracity. These ethics apply to all types of
counseling, including both group and individual therapy; however, different aspects of these
ethical guidelines must be considered based on the therapeutic approach. This paper will identify
several of these ethical issues as they relate specifically to group counseling, while also evaluating
how these differences compare to ethical guidelines within an individual approach. Based on this
information, a final analysis will be provided on when therapists should choose group versus
individual for a client.
Identifying Ethical Issues in Group Counseling
According to the American Counseling Association (2014) Code of Ethics, ethical principles are
based on a set of values that include autonomy, nonmaleficence, beneficence, justice, fidelity, and
veracity. As an editor with International Journal of Group Psychotherapy, Virginia Brabender (2006)
further clarifies these principles as they relate to group therapy through focusing on four of these
values: beneficence, nonmaleficence, respect for autonomy, and fidelity.
Beneficence and Nonmaleficence Beneficence is a caregiver s responsibility to promote work that
will benefit the welfare of the client, while also preventing or removing harm. For

Identity In Mirror Image And Flowers For Algernon
George R.R. Martin once said, Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it
your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be
used to hurt you. In both stories of Mirror Image by Lena Coakley and Flowers for Algernon by
Daniel Keyes they have a common theme of identity and about how you find yourself. For both
the characters in the story they find themselves finally by first losing themselves. For example in
the short story of Mirror Image, Alice is a character who struggles to find herself and tries to
understand if this is truly who she is. The situation of Alice is that she is the first to successfully
have her brain transplanted in a new body, and due to this she is struggling to find her own identity.

The relationships that she has with others are affected due to her change, however through this

and her identity when she has a talk with Mr. Jarred when she hears him say to her, I ll tell her I
looked into your eyes and that I didn t see my daughter (Coakley, 18). Alice s journey to find
herself and her identity was a long where see was lost, but she shares a similar journey to others.
It also seems like this story can be considered an allusion and share a common theme to Flowers
for Algernon where Charlie Gordon is struggling to find

I have all the characteristics of a human being... but not a single, clear, identifiable emotion, except

fashionable and meticulous man that works on Wall Street. в є He is very approachable, gets all

Pawnee National Grassland Research Paper
Importance of preserving Pawnee National Grassland
WWF Panel
Good morning/afternoon WWF panel members,
The importance of preserving Pawnee National Grassland is essential, to not only us, but also for
the environment. Pawnee National Grasslands is one of the largest grasslands in the world,
situated in Colorado, USA. It covers over 700 km2 of area, which means that it has one of the
largest roles in shaping the environment in the surrounding area. Destroying Pawnee National
Grasslands will have dire consequences on the ecosystem, including causing a trophic cascade
devastating the food chain, increase the intensity and damage caused by flooding, and increase the
amount of carbon dioxide in the air which will cause global warming/climate change, ... Show more

These pollutants can involve anything from pesticides to fine sediments to poisons. However,
Grasslands act as natural water filters, helping prevent these pollutants from flowing down into
waterways. How does this work? Purification is carried out by microbes such as bacteria or fungi
in a biological process. However, this process only works well over time. Grasslands increase
the time required for precipitation to reach rivers hence increasing the purity of the resulting
water. However, if Pawnee National Grassland is replaced with roads and cities, the new
impervious surfaces will cause the water to flow faster and are a source of even more pollutants.
The cost of building a water filtration plant is around $6 8 billion, and it takes more than $300
million each year to operate it. So the choice is obvious to keep the free natural water filter rather
than to build a costly unnecessary replacement.
On the same note, not only will Pawnee National Grassland slow down the flow of water hence
increase the purity of the water, but the slower run off also allows the grassland to act as a flood
stop limiting the amount of water which can reach rivers like a sponge. If grasslands and native
vegetation are kept and allowed to regenerate there will also be no need for expensive solutions for

The Atheist Argument From Evil Essay
Have you ever encountered something and said to yourself Why me? Or have you wondered
Why do so many people lose their lives to murders or accidents? There is so much suffering in
this world that we hear about, including rapes, war, genocide, or natural disasters. Every person
has different disasters and oftentimes we cannot come up with a possible reason these happen to
us. This thought has led some philosophers, such as William Rowe, to believe that Goddoes not
exist. Although there are some logical possible reasons God permits evil, it seem unlikely that there
are logical reasons for the huge amount of suffering the world experiences. The large amount of
suffering seems to suggest that there is no God rather than an inactive one. The atheist argument
from evil goes as follows:
There exist horrendous evils that an all powerful, all knowing, perfectly good being would have no
justifying reason to permit.
An all powerful, all knowing, perfectly good being would not permit an evil unless he had a
justifying reason to permit it.
Therefore, God does not exist.
According to William Rowe, some evils may serve a greater good, such as free will. However,
there are other evils that seem to serve no greater good, such as natural evils that include cancer
or tornadoes that kill millions of people and other creatures every year. One example that Rowe
provides is the following: A fawn is horribly burned in a forest fire caused by lightning. It lies on
the forest floor

The Importance Of My Day At School
School started and I sat in the front with a group of people I didn t know. I looked around, seeing
a lot of students already talking to their friends. None of my friends were there. I looked down as
the teacher introduced herself. The class started and I just sat there exploring the room. I added
all of my things into my desk. Once the bell rang, I went to my next class. We had to stay
together as a class in the hallways, single file line as the teacher would say. The day went on the
same way until lunchtime. The first thing I did was walk around and find the other classrooms. I
spotted my friends and ran towards them. I gave them a big hug and I started talking to them. Once
they called my classroom to get up for lunchI had to leave them. I went up and got lunch and then
sat by myself. Two other people needed seats, so they moved to my side and sat with me. I kept
quiet until it was time for recess. I went out with my friends and we chased eachother around.
Soon we had to go back to our classrooms and finish our day. We said our goodbyes and finished
the schoolday.
My father picked me up and asked, How was your day at school? . I told him it was good, as I was
able to see my friends. He then told me I should make new friends, and that I should be confident
like I used to be. Always being a new kid at a school has its downfalls. Not everybody was like me,
and not everybody I talked to liked me either. My friends were the toys that I ve unwrapped so

Nurses Are Responsible For Numerous Things From Dispensing...
In general, nurses are responsible for numerous things from dispensing medication to keeping a
watchful eye on the patient s condition. This also includes keeping all paperwork and records up to
date and being the line of communication between the doctor, the patient and the family involved.
At times, nurses are even responsible for providing instruction and overseeing the work of aides
and assistants. Nurses also provide care beyond the physical healthcare work they do. For instance,
nurses offer emotional support for the patient and his/her family. These dedicated healthcare
professionals also ensure patients and their families understand the illness, how to manage the

Upon watching the video on the Angola Prison Hospice I became more aware of the importance
of the role of nurses/healthcare professionals in this particular setting. The healthcare
professionals and volunteers of the hospice program play an imperative role in providing not
only care in terms of temporary pain relief or for terminal patients, daily medications, but also
care in terms of humanizing the patients in the prison; not treating them in regards to their
crimes, but treating them with the same morality and thoughtfulness that they would any patient
and Roach s 6 C s serves as a foundation to those behaviors. As a volunteer or healthcare
professional in the Angola Prison Hospice I would implement the use of Roach s 6 C s through
my everyday behaviors at work. Roach s first C is compassion. We are all human beings and
regardless of whether one is a patient in a prison hospital or a patient in a children s hospital, we
are naturally inclined to put ourselves in that person s shoes and relate to their pain. By showing
empathy towards my patient and their family, that enables me to build a rapport with my patient
and his/her family and open a line of trust and communication between us. Relating to my patient
and understanding his/her pain and discomfort allows me to place myself in a position to further
express my compassion. I would refrain from judging my patient on the nature of his/her crimes
because I personally, believe in forgiveness.

I Collected Rhonda s Demographic And Intake Information
In the following, we will examine three progress notes from my work with Rhonda throughout her
treatment, a final clinical summary of the work, and a self reflection section on not only the
challenges, but also what was learned from our work together.
First, we will examine my initial clinical note on 8/15/16 with client, Rhonda Smith, session one.
During this first session, I collected Rhonda s demographic and intake information (Murphy
Dillon, 2015; Reamer, 2001). This included a signed consent for treatment, which we reviewed
and all her questions were answered, as well as signed medical releases for previous therapy and
agency records, i.e., DVIS, CPS, CASA, that will be requested (Murphy Dillon, 2015; Reamer,
2001). Additionally, she was informed about HIPAA, patient privacy rights, billing practices,
professional boundaries and expectations, and how to contact me during business hours, and after
hours crisis lines, and on call assistance phone numbers for resources if it is outside of my business
hours (Murphy Dillon, 2015).
Together with the above information, I collected a comprehensive history of Rhonda at our initial
session. She is a thirty six year old Asian American, born in Los Angeles, but moved to rural
Arizona when she was five because her father took a job on a cattle ranch. Rhonda s family were
refugees that moved to L.A. after the Vietnam War ended and her parents are first generation
Hmong Americans. Further, she has three sisters and she

A Better Understanding Of Diabetes And How Kids Are...
During the week that we spend at camp I hope that I will have a better understanding of Diabetes
and how kids are dealing and coping with it. Sometimes we forget that when an illness happens
in adults it is totally different on how it affects children so sometimes kids get ignored more often.
So I hope this week will give me a better insight into what it is like for a child with diabetes day to
day. My fear going into this week is that I won t be able to tell when a kid is having a low blood
sugaror a high one. I know what signs to look out for but I don t have a lot of experience with this
in kids. Kids are different on they present than adults so the fear is not recognizing it fast enough
to get help for the child. What I think that I will contribute to the camp team is that I will be able
to help with recognizing signs more quickly of hypo and hyperglycemiaeven though I still need
some work. I think this will be beneficial because there may be members of the team that are less
experienced so having someone that has at least seen this once will help. The previous
experience that I have had with medically fragile children is going to CCK for a weekend during
diabetes weekend and seeing a glimpse of children with this disease. I got to interact with the kids
and play with them as if they had nothing wrong with them. The kids that were there were
amazing to see on how they were coping with the disease versus their parents. Also what else was
neat to see is how

The Negative Effects Of Technology In Dave Eggers s The...
Imagine a world where everyone s enigmatic thoughts were exposed to the public. Today, in the
vast cyberspace, anonymity leads to audacious actions of cruel words posted by rather introverted
individuals who would not dare to speak those words in a face to face encounter. Furthermore,
they refuse to be held accountable for their actions and interfere with peace by creating chaos. The
phrases secrets are lies , sharing is caring and privacyis theft (CITE?) are explicated in Dave Eggers
, The Circle. Mae Holland follows these three mantras, justified by leaders of the Circle, to make
life changing decisions. A world extracted of anonymity and instead, policed by an omniscient
public is one cause to the negative effects of technology on one s private life. In The Circle,
programs are developed in the Circle to implicate improved and advanced living conditions
through the use of technology. Ironically, these programs such as Past Perfect , ChildTrack ,

portrays the negative aspects of technology on private lives shown through character experiences in
the novel and raises unethical issues about the programs created in the Circle, which correspond to

MINING
Mining is the procedure of retrieving coal or other minerals from a mine. This issue has many
reasons why we should and should not ban mining. We should not ban the retrieval of coal and
minerals as it provides most of the products and items we need in our everyday lives, also, mining
is an essential in the development of bigger and better cities. However, we should ban this due to
the fact that it is harming the environment everyday due to pollution, deforestation, etc.
First of all, we should not ban mining as it is one of the most substantial factors in producing most
of the items and products we have today. Items/products such as, phones, iPads, cameras, clothing,

Mba Rookies Research Paper
This year s NBA rookies won t revolutionize the league like the class of 1984, which featured
Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley and John Stockton. Chances are, it won t
upset basketball s cultural applecart like Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant did in 1996. Nor can it
be expected to usher in a new era of talent to an Association in transition, as LeBron James,
Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh did in 2003.
But when hoops historians pen the game s next tome, they may look back at the class of 2015 as the
one that strengthened basketball s shift toward skill and versatility.

Why People Learn English As A Foreign Language
Introduction There are many reasons why foreign language learners choose to learn English and
also a variety of approaches to teach English. Some of the motivations to gain proficiency in
English are; improved employment prospects, improved quality of life and to travel aboard. It is
important to consider these motivating factors when planning to teach a student who is learninga
foreign language. As the contributing factors will dictate how best to teach the foreign language
learner. This essay will try to describe, through the perspective of a case study and current
research, why and how people learn English as a foreign language.
Students Background Tere Serrano Luna is born in Mexico, her first language is Spanish and
she is presently learning English as a student at IMAC in Guadalajara. She speaks English and

Analysis Of In The Time Of The Butterflies By Julia Alvarez
In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez fictionalizes the harrowing lives of the Mirabal
sisters, who came to represent an underground resistance against the dictator of their native
Dominican Republic, Trujillo. Though the Mirabal sisters were indeed real and parts of Alvarez s
novel reflect true events, this is a fictionalized account of what these sisters faced throughout their
lives. Readers know from the beginning that three of the four sisters will not survive the regime,
but they were shown to be noble warriors for their people throughout the novel regardless. Alvarez
utilizes immersion, tension, and point of view to weave a unique story of survival and strength in
the face of opposition. Perhaps the most important tool that Alvarez uses to convey the story of the
Mirabal sistersis immersion. Readers are thrust into the world of the Trujillo dictatorship and
though they can only grasp the experiences through the eyes of the sisters, their lives are more than
enough to exemplify the cruelty of this dictator. From the beginning of the novel, DedГ© is silently
judging an American woman for her lack of understanding about Dominican culture. Through small
details like the fact that there are no street signs because most people can t read, there are
revelations about the country in itself without just stating facts and statistics. Alvarez uses many
other tools to immerse her readers and she notably uses Spanish words and sentences throughout
this English novel. Some sentences are translated throughout but she does choose to leave some
words untranslated both in dialogue and in the general narration from the sisters. Though this is a
simple idea, it reinforces the setting of the Spanish speaking Dominican Republicand assists in
immersing readers with only a few words. How and when three of the four Mirabal sisters died
is established before the book is even opened as it was a true event and it is identified in any
summary of the novel. Yet the story is partially told by these three sisters anyway, creating an
unbearable sense of tension throughout the book as readers wonder when they will read of their
deaths. They also continually interact with Trujillo, each scene making the family s

Cognitive Development According to Piaget Essay
Cognitive Development According to Piaget
Works Cited Missing
Cognitive development is defined as gradual orderly changes by which mental processes become
more complex and sophisticated, or the scientific study of how human beings develop in certain
orderly stages as they get older. The actual study of cognition refers to the process of knowing; it
is the study of all mental activities related to acquiring, storing, and using knowledge (Microsoft,
2001, p.3). How we as humans develop cognitively has been thoroughly observed and researched
by Jean Piaget. He was a cognitivist: he believed that our environment stimulates us to learn on our
own (make our own intelligence).

Within the Sensory Stage, there are six sub stages. The first sub stage is from birth to one month,
known as the reflex stage. When something enters their hand or touches their feet, they attempt to
grasp it. Also, when something is placed on their lips, they try to suck on the object thinking it is
food. Next is from one to four months, primary circular reaction. Now children begin to follow
objects with their eyes, they have some coordinated movements (everything they hold, they put in
their mouth), and they start repeated motions (kicking). Next is from four to six months, secondary
circular reaction. This is when children start to coordinate their eyes with their hands, they now
have foresight, and they start to act for results (behavior = attention). They start to experiment; they
connect events in the places they occur ( bath in the bathtub, changing on the changing table). Also
in this stage they develop object permanence. The fourth sub stage is from six to twelve months,
known as the coordination of secondary schema. They now have deliberate plans of exploration
(know where they want to go and what they want to do when they get there). They can also play
simple games, like taking objects out of a box and putting them back in. The next sub stage is from
twelve to eighteen months and is called the tertiary circular reaction stage. Children LOVE
experimentation in this stage. They begin to walk and get into everything. Also in this stage

Extend Fertility Analysis
This assignment is about a critical analysis of Christy Jones, founder of Extend Fertility and her
business plan about offering the service of retrieving and freezing young women s eggs to beat the
biological clock for the future use. Her business idea was to offer the service of combining the best
of class science, service, and storage of the eggs.
Finding the Idea
After several years of studying and then working to gain experience, women tend to prefer first
being successful in their job and build a career and delay parenthood until they are a older

Of course it is very good that nowadays there is the possibility to freeze your eggs, but how can
the best scientist and the best clinic help when your target group doesn t know you. Additionally,
as the target group are educated women in their twenties, they are most likely still at university or
in bigger cities. So showing presence there and to educational work would be a good idea.
Dealing with Competitors
As this was a fast moving business and the topic of freezing eggs wasn t new to competitors,
Jones knew that she had to act fast. Her goal was to become leader in this industry including the
scientific, service, storage, marketing and education aspect. With working closely with the
scientific leaders, building exclusive strategic partnerships within the industry and being the only
company with an FDA approved egg freezing science, Jones wanted to make sure that she is and
stays market leader in this industry. Though, it might have been very hard to be the only company
receiving exclusive rights for FDA approval. When fulfilling the regulations, also other companies
can be FDA approved (FDA, 2009). Additionally, a market analysis regarding other fertilitycenters
and their plans for the future would be helpful. There, new opportunities for alliances might come
up. Also, sharing studies and improving the procedure could be a possible side effect when
working with other organizations. There were also other companies on the market with the idea of

Eskimo Mothers Campaign Analysis
In order to solidify the First Nations place as designated outsiders in their own homeland (8) the
press had to show how Indigenous people become the other when compared to the white settlers of
Canada. In comparison to the white setters presumed racial superiority, the media would use
headlines and stories that evoked images of Indians as dependent children. One specific instance of
this is the federal government s poster campaign to instruct the Eskimo mothers about how to use
their newly awarded family allowance funds by the Department of National Health and Welfare
(148). This campaign created a standard that, despite being mothers and raising children in this land
for generations, the Inuit mothers were not capable of providing... Show more content on

During the Louis Riel 1885 North West Resistance, the press used their influence to shape the
narrative as an event fated to occur because, as the Gazette reported, it was inevitable that the
red skins would become the reckless, murderous devils which nature has made them in their
native conditions... [and] sooner or later it was inevitable that the red skins would make an
effort to regain control of the country, massacre and pillage the settlers (67). This description
paints a picture of First Nations as unable to escape an almost animalistic urge to kill and destroy
that is engrained in their very sense of self. In the press coverage of the 1885 Resistance, we can
also see the close ties between the use of the savage stereotype and the childlike Indian. Although
the press called for Riel to hang for his crimes against Canada, the Metis were described as the
poor misguided half breeds whom Riel swindled and bullied (67) which portrays them as lacking

The Organizational Cost Of Employees
The organizational cost of employees longer work life is placing an economic strain on the
organization s bottom line and by applying some microeconomic theories and applications; an
organization will be able to identify some possible programs that will help in the easing of this
economic strain. This economic strain on the organization s bottom line could be eased with more
focus being placed on maintaining employee s fitness and knowledge. This fitness and knowledge
programis the key because by applying pricing theory, equilibrium analysis, and economic
efficiency theory, a fitness and knowledge program for employees will lower the economic strain
on the organization s bottom line that is felt through new hires and time off due to sickness.
First, the economic strain on the organization s bottom line could ease with the use of supply and
demand theory. The supply and demand theory is synonymous with economics and not necessarily
thought of being used in the selection process of a program but they truly are one in the same.
The supply and demand theory will help in identifying and the development of programs that will
benefit both the employee and the employer, as there is a demand by both employees to be more
fit and by their employer for their employees to be fit.
The employee and the employer s desire for fitness is based on two different reasons, as a
employees desire is to be more fit and healthier with less use of sick time as well as for their
appearance. On the

The Difference Between Looking And Perception In Raymond...
What is the true difference between looking and perceiving? In Cathedral , l Carver reveals
human rediscovery through contrast in between characters whose perception determines the
narrator changes of mind. The narrator in Cathedral is modeled as an ignorant person who does
not seem to perceive the world with knowledge. Instead, he only has the ability to see the world
with his sight in the beginning of the story. His limited view to the world reveals his lack of human
experience in life thus he usually attempts to perceive life with his stereotypical view. The other
two characters, including the wife and Robert, are both perceiving the world with numerous life
experiences. They are the contrast to the narrator yet they are helping the narrator to rediscover
human worth through their ways of perceiving the world. Robert is especially the significant
person that changes the narrator mindby showing what he can do as a blind man. Raymond Carver
contrasts the wife and Robert with narrator in many directions to bring out the process of how the
narrator changes from an ignorant person to a man who starts to know how to perceive the world
with his mind but not the eyes.
The contrast between the wife and the narrator is shown through their different attitude toward
Robert s visit and also the lost of his wife. Robert is an extremely important person for narrator s
wife who suffers in her previous marriage and even commit suicide. The communication between

Definition Of Beauty In American Culture
It s human nature to desire to be perceived as beautiful, but who determines what beauty is or
looks like? The Merriam Webster dictionary defines beauty as the quality of being physically
attractive; qualities a person possesses that gives pleasure to the senses or the mind (Merriam
Webster). The definition of beauty can vary greatly between cultures and countries. We ll explore
the similarities and differences of beauty in Asian and American cultures. The concept of beauty in
most Asian countries is identified within Caucasian (Anglo Saxon) standards. Many Asian women
are unaware of the fact that this standard of beauty was shaped by the influences of Caucasian
standards on their society. A beautiful Asian woman is described as thin, pale skinned, black or
brown hair, and dark brown eyes. Modern Asian women often seek to have blonde hair and colored
eyes which further personifies Caucasian beauty.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the chapter?
Vanquish Logistics is a branch located in Lebanon Tennessee making a global SC network design
decision and what the primary issues they are facing today are. The primary issues the company
Vanquish is assessing today are transpiration management. The management system within
transportation has been crucial lately do to the big transition of moving locations. Truck loads
have been lost, pay stubs have been on hold, and missions have not been completed on time. Retail
and Central location have not been making matters any easier on the company. Another primary
issue would be the transition between the pickup times and when the deliveries need to be met.
When a delivery is not made on time this is problematic because this causes the company to lose
money. When they lose money, Vanquish does not get paid for the uncompleted mission. Some
issues that Vanquish can relate to in regards of chapter 6 are the retail locations. At the beginning
of the relocation process for Vanquish they had one large contracts with Nissan and Lamtec, but
since they have relocated, they have been winning more international contracts and not just strictly
domestic causing retail locations to become a big issue. One which has failed the design decision
that was made. Just like in chapter 6, it talks about the unequal shipment size and frequency. This
being said has minimized transportation cost and there has to be close locations so the freight can

Context
The word amphora derives from the Greek amphi (on both sides) and phoros (carrier). They are
terracotta vases of variable size with two vertical handles, by which they are carried on both
sides, designed for the transport and storage of liquids (principally olive oil and wine). They could
be painted on their bellies (as in this case).
A large portion of Athenian pottery was produced by the Group of Haimon and the Leafless
Group,[1] and was carried thence to ports around the Mediterranean. The rest was produced for
local use, specifically mixing, storing and transporting wine and oil.
Attic pottery was valued in the sanctuaries of the Etruscans, where they had additional roles: cultic
ritual, banqueting and votive offerings. These vases were bought specially for a given occasion
and signified a dedication to a divinity. Generally, Attic cups were common while amphorae were
rare.

Second, there is has also been a large increase in military and commercial aviation transportation.
Thirdly, due to more urbanization and city growth, natural birds and wildlife habitats have
become fewer. In this case, more birds and wildlife have began settling near airports. With the
increase in damages to aircraft from bird and wildlife strikes, how do airports prevent from future
collisions with bird and wildlife? Airports have many traditional ways of treating the issue. Some
are environmentally safe while others may cause controversy with environmental and government
groups. Each does have its pros and cons though. One method is the use of firearms. This method
is quick but requires precise accuracy and quick judgment Either shooting to scare or to kill and
remove the animal, this method is the least popular due to the fact that some wildlife are either
endangered or under environmental protection. For example a United States airport would lose it s
public opinion if one of the animal control employes opened fire upon an American Bald Eagle
which happens to be the national bird. The use chemicals is another method that is non violent to
deter bird and wildlife. Some airports use certain plants that produce chemicals and odors the
makes wildlife uncomfortable and stay away from the airfield. Though this method is non violent
to birds and wildlife, it does have its set backs. Chemicals used to spray around the airfield can

Genetic Relatedness Between Modern Humans And Neandertals...
a.Provide a brief summary of what we know about the genetic relatedness between modern humans,
neandertals and chimpanzees
Neandertals are similar to humans across most of the genome. They are about as similar as two
humans are to each other. However, in some parts of the Neandertal genome Neandertals had more
in common with chimpanzees than with humans. This shows that humans went through many
changes to make them different than chimps. According to Svante Paabo, Neandertals contributed
very little to the genetic makeup of modern humans. Researchers think that people who are lactose
intolerant may have inherited this gene from the Neandertals. FOXP2 gene is the gene that is
associated with speech in humans. Researchers found that it was also a gene in Neandertals. This
could mean that Neandertals could speak. Humans and chimps are only 1% different.

d.How might a gene that controls chewing influence the size of our brains?
In humans we have a genetic glitch (missing two letters) in the muscle making gene that controls
chewing. It only allows us to chew with the fraction of force that an ape does. Humans and
chimps have several independent bone plates in our skulls that let our heads get bigger as we
grow. The jaw muscle pulls against these plates. In an ape the forces can be enormous. All of this
power forces an ape s skull plates to fuse together at an early age, putting limits on how much the
brain can grow. In an human the plates remain open for growth until about age 30. This allows us
to make space for our brain to grow.

The Coach Research Paper
Sports are a form of entertainment, whether it is playing them or watching them. Yet part of the
entertainment is also the audience. The fans can have a large impact on the game itself as well as
your experience. We all have that one friend who is way too competitive, whether it involves sports
or just who finishes eating first. They cannot choose what things to be competitive at, for that
nature is in their blood. The Coach is the most competitive player out of the fans. In a game, you
will scarcely, see them sit down, and they are so competitive that they actas if they are actually
playing the game. They could be sitting as high as the nosebleed seats and shouting at the players,
telling them what to do, as if the players could somehow hear them. Yet they are being obnoxious to
the people around them, for, unfortunately, they can hear them quite clearly. Coaches are essentially
the backseat drivers of sports. The next fanwe have is the complete opposite of a Coach, hence the
quotation marks. Phonies come for the experience, not for the game. Phonies often come
wearing all of the team s gear, yet it is all for the aesthetics and for the sports façade. You may
think that the game is on their phone because that is what they ll spend most of their time
watching. Unlike the Coach, others will not notice or pay much attention to Phonies, yet you
will know they were there because it will be posted on social media or other public accounts.
Coaches tend to be stubborn and close minded, so not much bothers them. Except for the Rookie.
Rookies are the bane of Coaches. Unlike Phonies, they are genuinely interested in the game.
Unfortunately, they know little to nothing about the sport, and the people to suffer are the ones
like Coaches. They are constantly asking questions about how it works and what s going on in the
game, preventing others from fully enjoying and experiencing the game. Unlike Coaches, Rookies
do not bother the rest of the fans, but only the ones they are close with. One good thing about
Rookies is that they are honest. Followers also are not completely familiar with the game, yet they
try to be discreet about it. They go with the flow of the crowd, yet you

Alan Bennett s A Cream Cracker Under the Settee
How does Alan Bennett reveal Doris character, life and attitude in the dramatic monologue a cream
cracker under the settee ?
Many of Bennett s characters are unfortunate and downtrodden, as in the Talking Heads series of
monologues that was first performed at the Comedy Theatre in London in 1992, and then
transferred to television. This was a sextet of poignantly comic pieces, each of which portrayed
several stages in the character s decline from their initial state of denial or ignorance of their
predicament, through their slow realization of the hopelessness of their situation, to a typically
bleak Bennett conclusion.

She has an obsession with cleanliness and hygiene and does not believe that Zulema does a good
enough job. Because of this she stereotypes all younger people and believes them all to be rude and
not up to her high standards.
Doris does not approve of Zulema coming, because admitting she needs Zulema would mean
forfeiting her independence. Because of the fact Doris cant dust Zulema holds the threat of
Stafford house over her, which is the local old peoples home you d be better in Stafford house ,
this shows that Zulema wants Doris to be under someone else s control.
Throughout the monologue Doris shows that she is obsessive about cleaning, she does not
believe that Zulema cleans to her standard, ( she doesn t dust, she half dusts ) therefore she takes
it upon herself to do it, even though it has been forbidden be Zulema. Most probably in Doris case,
even if Zulema had cleaned thoroughly, it would not be good enough for Doris because accepting
that Zulema can do it would mean that she would not have to do it, Therefore taking away her
independence.
When Doris and Wilfred were younger they were said to of had a baby which had died at birth,
when the baby had died the nurse had raped it up in newspaper, and in Doris eyes she associated
this with being dirty . This reveals how Doris does not want her child to have anything to do with
anything dirty, even though it is dead, showing her

There are numerous accounts of actions by Roosevelt and his top armed forces advisors, which
reveal they were not only aware of an attack by Japan, but also they were planning on it, and
instigating that attack.
Roosevelt had wanted to enter the war for a long time. He believed Hitler would not declare war
on the United States unless he thought they were beatable. Also, the United States public opinion
was against going to war due to the stable and booming economy. Most of American society
before the Pearl Harbor attack also believed in the idea of isolationism. Americans didn t want to
get into the European war if they didn t have to. The only way in which Roosevelt could obtain
support from the American people to enter the war was that a member of the Axis Power needed to
make the first move. In other words, the Americans would need something to revenge from.
To get the Japanese to attack, Roosevelt would need to provoke Japan. Lieutenant Commander
Arthur H. McCollum provided him with a detailed, eight step procedure for making Japan to make
the first overt move into war. The United States government made an arrangement with Britain for
the use of British bases in the Pacific, particularly Singapore. They cooperated with Holland for
the use of base facilities in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia). They would give all possible
aid to the Chinese government of Chiang Kai shek. A division of long range heavy

Essay on The Hours by Michael Cunningham
In his novel The Hours, Michael Cunningham creates a dazzling fabric of queer references
managing to intertwine the lives of three different women into one smooth narrative. In this essay,
I will discuss what makes The Hours queer literature, how the novel has contributed to the queer
genre, the cultural significance of the novel, and I will discuss several points made in Jeanette
McVicker s critical article Gaps and Absences in The Hours. My aim, however, is not to say that
Michael Cunningham s The Hours is strictly a queer novel, but to highlight what makes the novel
queer and to discuss Cunningham s idea of sexual orientationas a fluid entity. To begin my analysis
on the queer narrative in The Hours, we must fist discover what... Show more content on

It is considerably easier to identify the queerness of the novel s characters and author than its
political purpose. Michael Cunningham, the novel s author, is a gay male and openly
acknowledges that his sexual orientation influences his work as can be seen by the fact that many
of his novels involve gay characters and gay experiences. In particular, The Hours features three
women who each have same sex experiences Virginia Woolf
, Laura Brown, and Clarissa Vaughn.
Virginia Woolf is a married woman who had public affairs with women and who shares a chaste
kiss with her sister during her narrative. Woolf is also the author of Mrs. Dalloway, a novel that
centers on Clarissa Dalloway, a woman who feels the same way as men feel (Woolf 36) about
women, yet marries a man as society dictates.
Laura Brown is also a married woman, like both Woolf and Dalloway, but rather than having
affairs with women, she, like Clarissa Dalloway, feels bound by her role in society and is greatly
unhappy with her situation. For a brief moment, she breaks away from her heteronormative life
and seems to truly desire to break free from the gender roles forced upon her while sharing a kiss
with her neighbor s wife, Kitty.
The question has been silently asked and silently answered, it seems. They are both afflicted and
blessed, full of shared secrets, striving every moment. They are both impersonating

Occupational Performance Model Paper
Using a person environment occupational performance model explain the occupational
circumstances of a person who is well known to you in a personal context.
Throughout this assignment various models will be looked at and one of those models will be
applied to a case study detailing the occupational circumstances of an individual. The models
described will be person environment occupational performance models, focusing on those three
subject areas, to detail what the client does in their daily life, the environments in which the
activities are done, their personal goals and attributes, and how all these factors affect the individual
s occupational performance. (Christiansen Baum, 1997) Models are significant theory which helps

Due to the addition of engagement this promotes the understanding that the client can find
satisfaction in engaging with occupations without performing them. It falls within the Person
Environment Occupation Framework this is due to the focus on the influences and connections of
the person and environment on meaningful occupations. The CMOP E places the client at the
centre of the model, assigning the focus on the client s needs and wants, this creates the
understanding that the client is the person who knows their life best and understands their
occupational performance concerns, therefore denoting the role of the occupational therapist is not
to carry out treatment or intervention on a client but with a client (Ikiugu, 2007) The CMOP E
places spirituality at the centre of the person, this is because it is believed that a person s
spirituality is where their motivation and self concept flow from, through occupations spirituality
can be found and expressed.

Blade Runner Versus Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep
Dana Langston
Blade Runner versus Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?...and the stupidity of comparing the
two. So, motherfucking Blade Runner. This piece of fucking cinematic masterpiece was
supposedly inspired by the book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (Do Androids Dream of
Electric Sheep?) written by author Philip K. Dick who was a literal dick I mean he was a piece of
shit. Here s the thing though: I think it s pretty fuckin stupid to compare Blade Runner and Do
Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? because they weren t intended to do the same goddamn thing.
Lemme explain. Like many great films, Blade Runner is based on the novel Do Androids Dream of
Electric Sheep? written by sci fi legend Philip K. Dick. The story follows a ... Show more content

For example, the driving force for Rick Deckard in Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? is the
money he would be making from retiring the Androids. As he sees it, the more money he makes,
the better an animal he can buy, because apparently he s too good for an electric sheep the
pompous fucking ass. In Blade Runner, the driving force is the fact that Deckard has been
forced to retire the Androids by the police department where, as far as the viewer can tell,
Deckard use to work but eventually quit. With a vast change in society and motivation, Blade
Runner and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? are stupid to compare. It is difficult for one
to see the relation in the two, other than a few basic plot points that are the same. One of these
plot points is the character Roy Batty, aka the sadistic fuckhead that gets pleasure from mankind
s heartbreaking distraught caused by Buster Friendly (who ain t that friendly, friend). In the
movie, Roy Batty and the other andies are violent criminals. They murder quite a few people
who get in their way, but they never kill out of some sort of psychopathic detachment. They
murder because they are afraid of dying, because they are plagued by the fear of the unknown.
And when Deckard dangles from the roof of Sebastian s apartment, Roy reaches out and hauls his
enemy onto the roof. In short, the Batty of Blade Runner is a flawed hero who empathized with
Deckard in his last

The Representation of Women, Men, and Sexuality in Music...
OVERVIEW
In this second update of 1991 s groundbreaking Dreamworlds, Sut Jhally critically examines the
representation of women, men, and sexuality in music videos. Jhally s primary argument is that
music videos, not unlike other forms of advertising and popular culture, represent the pornographic
imagination by offering a degraded and limited view of female sexuality based on narrowly defined
adolescent heterosexual male fantasies. Locating the stories and images of music video in a wider
context, the film explores how American popular culture, more generally, encourages and excuses
men s violence against women, and argues that we need a wider range of stories about femininity,
masculinity, and sexuality.
Special Note: This video ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
6. Market research drives a lot of what appears in music videos. This means that much of what
you see is designed to sell something whether it is specific products, ideas, or attitudes. Other
than CDs, downloads, concert tickets, or band merchandise, what do you think music videos are
designed to sell? 7. How does what Jhally defines as the Dreamworld of music video differ from or
echo the dreamworlds of other advertising genres?
ASSIGNMENTS
1. Cut out 3 or 4 magazine ads that feature pictures of men and women. Tape your ads to the
walls of the classroom and then walk around and look at what everyone else brought in.
Participate in a group discussion on any patterns you detect. What consistent stories about
gender are told in these ads? How do these images compare to the images in music videos? 2.
Interview other students about their use of music videos. Do they enjoy them? How often do
they watch? What do they think of the images used? What do they think of how men and women
are depicted? Do they think their own ideas about gender and sexuality have been influenced by
music videos and other media? Many people will say no to this last question. If they do, follow
up by asking them to explain their answer and where they think their ideas about gender and sex
come from. Also, ask them if they think their friends are influenced. Take notes, and write a
summary of the results of your interviews. Be prepared to discuss your findings with

Taking a Look at the City of Atlanta
Revenue Trends
With the continued sluggish economy, Atlanta s total revenue projections continue to decline from
the budget dating back to 2010 when the current mayor Kasim Reed took office. The City s
property tax base is the primary component accounting for 40% of the City s general fund revenues.
Property tax revenues have continued to experience declines associated with decreased
residential tax bases, negative reassessments, successful tax appeals and continued weakness in
the housing market. The City has demonstrated a measured response by continuing to budget
property tax revenue collection conservatively. To meet the projections, the collection rate in the
proposed budget was set to rise to 98%, up from the previous year s collection rate of 96%
(Pendered 2013). Public utility, alcoholic beverages and other taxes are the second largest
revenue source, at 23% resulting from franchise agreements of the use of the City s right of way
in providing public utilities such as telecommunications, gas and electric and from taxes imposed
on businesses operating in the City of Atlanta. Sales tax revenue is the third largest share of
general fund revenues accounting for nearly 20% of revenue anticipations. Sales tax revenue is
extremely flexible due to changes in economic performance associated with disposable income and
unemployment levels. Despite still declining revenues, the budget avoids service cuts and property
tax hikes, while adding about a million dollars to the

The Benefits Of Go Kart Motor Racing
Motor racing is a popular sport in United States and elsewhere in the world. It is recreational,
adventurous and competitive. Motor racing involves motorized vehicles in different kind of
racing or competition. More professional skills and technical knowledge are needed in some of
these high speed racing events such as rallying, car racing, etc. However, there are also motor
sports which are lower in cost and do not require skilled or well trained drivers. Kart racingis one of
them. Kart racing is an open wheel motorsport with small, open, four wheeled vehicles called
karts, go karts, with different transmission mechanisms depending on the choice of design. They
are usually raced on scaled down circuits. One typically starts with Karting before moving to the
higher ranks of motorsport. Out of all of the different types of racing in the game, Go Karts are real
fun and thrilling way to hit the tracks.
This project explores the distinct advantages that Go Kart should have in today s sports, the design
features needed to build a Go Kart, and how to stay safe in this fun motorsport.

There are many manufacturers and variants of Go karts models in the market. However there are
fewer models which can satisfy different tastes and requirements.

material of construction. This project identified Carbon fiber as an alternate material of construction,
which makes the vehicles light weighted. This material is sturdy and trouble free from cracks and
other defects to a great extent, and hence is safer and environment

Exploring The Historical And Cultural Context Of The Passage
Introduction American society produces new temptations every day and it is easy to fall into what
could be harmful to a relationship with God. It becomes difficult to live a Christian life when the
culture in which one lives is full of needs, desires, and ideas that are so contrary to what the Bible
teaches. During the beginning of Jesusministry, he also went through a few temptations at the
hand of the devil. He endured these temptations and persevered righteously in spite of them. A
few lessons can be learned by how Jesus handled these temptations. This paper will explore the
exegetical insights I gained from studying Matthew 4:1 11. The first part will present the context
gained from the broader and immediate discourse. The second section will help you understand
the historical and cultural context of the passage. The major segment of this paper will go verse to
verse through the selected passage and vary from interpretation and application. There will be a
brief conclusion to my findings on the question that will drive this paper. That question is, In what
way was Jesus temptation both a malicious tempting act on Satan s part and a required test to
prepare Jesus for his ministry?
Literary Context
First, we are going to take a look at the historical context of the time so that it can make us aware
of the specific elements that we need to know in order to better understand this passage. Second, a
quick survey of Matthew will be presented and how this

St Patrick College Peter Skrzynecki Analysis
An individual can t be influenced by their own selves but also the people that are surrounding him
/her. It is due to the pressure that others put on the individual which impacts against him/her
greatly as they are forced to accept it and go with it. Going with something that is not completely
accepted by the individuals will ultimately cause them to feel rejection. A poet, Peter Skrzynecki,
speaks of his personal experience which is strongly connected to belonging. An example is St
Patrick s college where he went to a school and felt like he didn t learn anything from there even
though he spent quite a long time there. Feliks Skrzynecki, another poem written by Peter, its

Theses decisions may not always make the individual happy which is evident in the poem, St
Patrick s College. Peter shows in the poem that his mother chose him to go to that school as she

in that kind of status. Peter Skrzynecki shows in St Patrick s College that his mother ironically
thought that going to St Patrick was What was best for her child, where Peter abides and goes to
the College so that he can still have a place in his mother s heart and not have the sense of
belonging between the two to break apart. Peter Constantly uses the term, eight years, where he is
reminiscing about the fun experiences he constantly faced when he went to school, for example,
Peter caught the 414 but like a foreign tourist, this exagerated experience shows that even though
he went there daily for eight years, he never felt connected to the other people who were also

Intentional Torts And False Punishment
Introduction This week we have been introduced to intentional torts, including battery, assault,
trespass of land, trespass of chattels, conversion and false imprisonment. Most of us are blind to
tortious acts, yet they are clearly occurring around us. This class will, in part, give us an attorney
s awareness of torts in the real world. In 2005 there were 2,012 intentional torts, slander/libel,
false arrest/imprisonment, and conversion claims in state courts. (Thomas H. Cohen) Many
more torts are too minor to ever result in a lawsuit. Below, I will discuss intentional torts that I
have experienced or which may occur in my daily life. Assault I commute into the city on the
MBTA commuter rail several days a week. It is typically an orderly, quiet ride. However, winter
delays cause extreme overcrowding that makes otherwise reasonable riders irritable.
Unavoidable bumping and jostling occurs but does not constitute a tort. However, not long ago
I was standing on a very crowded train when an irate man yelled at me to move or, he was going
to move me out of the way himself. I had no place to go and I was certainly in fear (or
apprehension, rather) that he would push, shove or otherwise place his hands on me. Restatement
(Second) of Torts В§21 states that an individual is liable for assault if he/she intends to cause a
harmful or offensive contact with the person of the other or a third person, or an imminent
apprehension of such a contact, and (b) the other is thereby put in

The Development And Development Of The Graphical...
This paper is based on CUDA, a parallel computing platform model, which utilizes the resources
of the Graphical Processing Unit (GPU), increasing the computing performance of our system,
hence creating a robust parallel computing unit. In this paper, we will be introducing a brief
history on CUDA, it s execution flow and it s architecture to handle processor intensive tasks.
We will also be highlighting some of it s real life applications and the difference in performance
as compared of the only CPU based architectures. Also, since most of the CUDA applications are
written in C/C++, we will also be exploring how CUDA provides the programmable interface in
such languages as well. Finally, we will be including the current research activities... Show more

So, in 2007, NVIDIA released CUDA, which provided the parallel architecture, to support the
usage of the GPUs. It was designed to work with programming languages such as C/C++ or
Fortran and this really helped specialists in parallel programming to use CUDA, rather than to
learn other advanced skills in GPU programming[10] . The model for GPU computing is to use a
CPU and GPU together in a heterogeneous co processing computing model[3]. The framework is
designed such that the sequential part of the application runs on the CPU and the computationally
intensive part is accelerated by the GPU. From the user s point of view, the application is faster
because it is using the better performance of the GPU to improve its own performance. пїј Figure1:

Giancarlo De Carlo was an Italian Architect. He wasn t known as an architect until the 1940s,
but rather a writer and a teacher. He trained as an architect in the 1940s, which was during the
Second World War, leading him to generate his philosophy towards life and architecture but he
did not start building until the 1950s. He was a founding member of Team X, Team X was a

attention to rebuilding built environments and their surrounding social and natural conditions.
Famous works by De Carlo include The Magistero at Urbino, 1968 76, Collegio del Colle at
Urbino, 1962 66 and Faculty of Economics at University of Urbino, 1986 99. De Carlo has strong
opinions about ModernismMovement; he often critiques the Modern Movement. He sees that the
Modern Movement was an opportunity wasted, as he had written a number of articles regarding
Modern Architecture.
Modernism was a radical movement that first emerged in the early 20th century, but was not
popular till after the Second World War. During the 1970s, many architects began to notice the
increasing failures of the Modern Movement. De Carlo has a lot of criticism towards the Modern

  • 2. Essay on Summary of The Goal Summary of The Goal Alex Rogo is manager for one of UniCo s production plants. Recently Alex s plant, as well as the others in his division, have been having major problems shipping orders on time. The company has considered closing the plant and has given Alex only three months to make a significant improvement or the plant will be closed and he as well as all of his employees will be without a job. At this point everything seems to be crashing down around him while at a meeting, discussing the future of the division, he recalls a chance encounter with an old acquaintance, a physicist named Jonah. During their discussion Alex discovers that Jonah is currently involved in the science of manufacturing organizations. Intrigued Alex ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The bottlenecks are the areas (machines) in the plant that are constantly holding back the production of the finished product. The philosophy behind this will become clear in a moment. Philosophy of Ongoing Improvement Since the beginning of the industrial revolution manufacturing organizations have followed the rules that idle time is lost time. That the only way to make money is to keep everyone and everything operating at 100 percent. When in fact a plant that runs it s resources at 100 percent all the time is actually a very inefficient plant. Most of the time the struggle to meet efficiencies is taking the organization further away from it s goal. Excess production creates excess inventories that in turn ties up money and slows down or impedes cash flows. The key to balancing production is to search out those places in the plant that slows down all the processes behind it, essentially a bottleneck. Obviously the bottleneck can t just be removed so the rest of the process must be governed by the speed at which the bottlenecks can operate. Release of materials must be staggered so that just as a batch is sent through the bottleneck another batch is waiting in front of it to be processed. No other non bottleneck area can be allowed to operate faster than the bottlenecks can handle otherwise the inventories will begin to climb again. In order ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Structures Of Viruses Viruses Viruses look different from one another. There are two structures for a virus, it s either icosahedral or helical. The virus that is icosahedral can appear to be spherical or if you look close enough it s icosahedral. This virus is made up of equilateral triangles. It s arranged into a symmetrical fashion. A prolate is found in the bacteriophage of an icosahedral virus. Many animal viruses or many viruses overall are icosahedral or helical. A helical virus has a capsid shaped into a rod shape structure or a filamentous structure. Some of them are short while others are longer. It s made up of genetic material and protein. Why they are a different from eukaryotes because they are not made of cells and are not cells. All kind of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first reason is that they are helping us increase our knowledge in biology. Scientists learned lots of new things thanks to viruses. For example, the basic technology of genetic manipulation was developed from studies with bacterial viruses Another reason is that we use viruses a lot in vaccines. Thanks to vaccines, our body creates antibodies to defeat the virus in the vaccine. This is why you can be sick after getting a vaccine. Then when we actually get the virus, our body will already have antibodies to use and defeat it. An example, is the influenza shot. Once you get it, our body will create antibodies to fight off the virus. If you do get the influenza, it won t last as long as it would have if you didn t get the shot. Viruses can also help with diseases. If a person is missing a gene in one of their cells. we can modify the virus genetic material to have to missing gene. Of course, scientists make sure that the virus won t get the person sick. Viruses can also help with cancer prevention and how to control it. Sure there are vaccines but there is also Virotherapy. Some viruses have been used to kill cancerous cells. There is a lot more reasons why viruses can help us but I couldn t list them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I remember going there with my family on a bright sunny Saturday. Smiles on everyone s face, no negative energy but pure positive. It was a nice and enjoyable day, I had lots of fun playing with my family in the water and also enjoying a delicious lunch together. I hope someday, we can have another day like this where we can forget about work and school and just enjoy a day full of excitement. Whenever that day may be, I just hope it s legitimately soon. My mom made them of course, they where remarkably tasty. It had some tomato, salad, mayonnaise, ham, onions, and ketchup. They tasted so delicious, tasting all the ingredients the sandwich had. Personally all ate them with big bright and happy smiles. Each one had some caprisuns along with our sandwiches. I sat on my towel I brought so I can sit down on the golden sand. I had my legs crossed as I was eating while looking at my surroundings. Couples walking by holding hands, a group of friends playing volleyball, and other families eating as well. There was lots of bright colored umbrella s everywhere you scan. Some colors like red, pink, yellow and green. You can taste a bit of the humid seawater as the slightly winds where blowing threw. I m not actually a talkative person. I m more like a shy person, usually sometimes I like to just go into my little world and pay more attention to my surroundings. I love how when you look out towards the dark blue ocean, you can inspect just water and water, it s like half of the world is just water, never ending water. You can eye some seagulls out in the ocean hunting for food or just chilling there. We played some games but mostly volleyball even though I m not really good at it. The main person that this theme relates to is Macbeth, specifically when he makes decisions on how to become king and take over Scotland. In the beginning of the play, Macbeth starts out as the Thane of Glamis. It appears that he will become a great fearless leader in this position. • 7. The Ethics Of Group Counseling Ethics in Group Counseling According to the American Counseling Association (ACA, 2014) Code of Ethics, ethical principles are based on a set of values that include autonomy, nonmaleficence, beneficence, justice, fidelity, and veracity. These ethics apply to all types of counseling, including both group and individual therapy; however, different aspects of these ethical guidelines must be considered based on the therapeutic approach. This paper will identify several of these ethical issues as they relate specifically to group counseling, while also evaluating how these differences compare to ethical guidelines within an individual approach. Based on this information, a final analysis will be provided on when therapists should choose group versus individual for a client. Identifying Ethical Issues in Group Counseling According to the American Counseling Association (2014) Code of Ethics, ethical principles are based on a set of values that include autonomy, nonmaleficence, beneficence, justice, fidelity, and veracity. As an editor with International Journal of Group Psychotherapy, Virginia Brabender (2006) further clarifies these principles as they relate to group therapy through focusing on four of these values: beneficence, nonmaleficence, respect for autonomy, and fidelity. Beneficence and Nonmaleficence Beneficence is a caregiver s responsibility to promote work that will benefit the welfare of the client, while also preventing or removing harm. For ... • 8. Identity In Mirror Image And Flowers For Algernon George R.R. Martin once said, Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you. In both stories of Mirror Image by Lena Coakley and Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes they have a common theme of identity and about how you find yourself. For both the characters in the story they find themselves finally by first losing themselves. For example in the short story of Mirror Image, Alice is a character who struggles to find herself and tries to understand if this is truly who she is. The situation of Alice is that she is the first to successfully have her brain transplanted in a new body, and due to this she is struggling to find her own identity. ... Alice finds peace with herself and her identity when she has a talk with Mr. Jarred when she hears him say to her, I ll tell her I looked into your eyes and that I didn t see my daughter (Coakley, 18). Alice s journey to find herself and her identity was a long where see was lost, but she shares a similar journey to others. Patrick Bateman Research Paper I have all the characteristics of a human being... but not a single, clear, identifiable emotion, except for greed and disgust...I feel lethal, on the verge of frenzy. I think my mask of sanity is about to slip (Easton Ellis 23). Patrick Bateman said this quote about himself in the book American Psycho by Brett Easton Ellis. In the novel American Psycho, Patrick Batemanis an unfathomably rich, fashionable and meticulous man that works on Wall Street. в є He is very approachable, gets all of the attractive women but he also bears secrets. Patrick Bateman is an avid cocaine user, chronic club goer and he also murders anything that breathes while he is on his blood lust. Not only does he kill people, but he also eats his victims as well. I can predict that Bateman will eventually be incarcerated, I can connect with Batemans desire for nice items, and I also can visualize the killing of every single person that he comes in contact with. в є... After saying that, Patrick killed the homeless man and his dog in the middle of the street. He left their bodies there and continued walking home. • 10. Pawnee National Grassland Research Paper Importance of preserving Pawnee National Grassland WWF Panel Good morning/afternoon WWF panel members, The importance of preserving Pawnee National Grassland is essential, to not only us, but also for the environment. Pawnee National Grasslands is one of the largest grasslands in the world, situated in Colorado, USA. It covers over 700 km2 of area, which means that it has one of the largest roles in shaping the environment in the surrounding area. Destroying Pawnee National Grasslands will have dire consequences on the ecosystem, including causing a trophic cascade devastating the food chain, increase the intensity and damage caused by flooding, and increase the amount of carbon dioxide in the air which will cause global warming/climate change, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These pollutants can involve anything from pesticides to fine sediments to poisons. However, Grasslands act as natural water filters, helping prevent these pollutants from flowing down into waterways. How does this work? Purification is carried out by microbes such as bacteria or fungi in a biological process. However, this process only works well over time. Grasslands increase the time required for precipitation to reach rivers hence increasing the purity of the resulting water. However, if Pawnee National Grassland is replaced with roads and cities, the new impervious surfaces will cause the water to flow faster and are a source of even more pollutants. The cost of building a water filtration plant is around $6 8 billion, and it takes more than $300 million each year to operate it. So the choice is obvious to keep the free natural water filter rather than to build a costly unnecessary replacement. On the same note, not only will Pawnee National Grassland slow down the flow of water hence increase the purity of the water, but the slower run off also allows the grassland to act as a flood stop limiting the amount of water which can reach rivers like a sponge. If grasslands and native vegetation are kept and allowed to regenerate there will also be no need for expensive solutions for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Atheist Argument From Evil Essay Have you ever encountered something and said to yourself Why me? Or have you wondered Why do so many people lose their lives to murders or accidents? There is so much suffering in this world that we hear about, including rapes, war, genocide, or natural disasters. Every person has different disasters and oftentimes we cannot come up with a possible reason these happen to us. This thought has led some philosophers, such as William Rowe, to believe that Goddoes not exist. Although there are some logical possible reasons God permits evil, it seem unlikely that there are logical reasons for the huge amount of suffering the world experiences. The large amount of suffering seems to suggest that there is no God rather than an inactive one. The atheist argument from evil goes as follows: There exist horrendous evils that an all powerful, all knowing, perfectly good being would have no justifying reason to permit. An all powerful, all knowing, perfectly good being would not permit an evil unless he had a justifying reason to permit it. Therefore, God does not exist. According to William Rowe, some evils may serve a greater good, such as free will. However, there are other evils that seem to serve no greater good, such as natural evils that include cancer or tornadoes that kill millions of people and other creatures every year. One example that Rowe provides is the following: A fawn is horribly burned in a forest fire caused by lightning. It lies on the forest floor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Importance Of My Day At School School started and I sat in the front with a group of people I didn t know. I looked around, seeing a lot of students already talking to their friends. None of my friends were there. I looked down as the teacher introduced herself. The class started and I just sat there exploring the room. I added all of my things into my desk. Once the bell rang, I went to my next class. We had to stay together as a class in the hallways, single file line as the teacher would say. The day went on the same way until lunchtime. The first thing I did was walk around and find the other classrooms. I spotted my friends and ran towards them. I gave them a big hug and I started talking to them. Once they called my classroom to get up for lunchI had to leave them. I went up and got lunch and then sat by myself. Two other people needed seats, so they moved to my side and sat with me. I kept quiet until it was time for recess. I went out with my friends and we chased eachother around. Soon we had to go back to our classrooms and finish our day. We said our goodbyes and finished the schoolday. My father picked me up and asked, How was your day at school? . I told him it was good, as I was able to see my friends. He then told me I should make new friends, and that I should be confident like I used to be. Always being a new kid at a school has its downfalls. In general, nurses are responsible for numerous things from dispensing medication to keeping a watchful eye on the patient s condition. This also includes keeping all paperwork and records up to date and being the line of communication between the doctor, the patient and the family involved. At times, nurses are even responsible for providing instruction and overseeing the work of aides and assistants. Nurses also provide care beyond the physical healthcare work they do. For instance, nurses offer emotional support for the patient and his/her family. These dedicated healthcare professionals also ensure patients and their families understand the illness, how to manage the illness (any special dietary needs or medications), and finally, of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Upon watching the video on the Angola Prison Hospice I became more aware of the importance of the role of nurses/healthcare professionals in this particular setting. The healthcare professionals and volunteers of the hospice program play an imperative role in providing not only care in terms of temporary pain relief or for terminal patients, daily medications, but also care in terms of humanizing the patients in the prison; not treating them in regards to their crimes, but treating them with the same morality and thoughtfulness that they would any patient and Roach s 6 C s serves as a foundation to those behaviors. As a volunteer or healthcare professional in the Angola Prison Hospice I would implement the use of Roach s 6 C s through my everyday behaviors at work. Roach s first C is compassion. We are all human beings and regardless of whether one is a patient in a prison hospital or a patient in a children s hospital, we are naturally inclined to put ourselves in that person s shoes and relate to their pain. By showing empathy towards my patient and their family, that enables me to build a rapport with my patient and his/her family and open a line of trust and communication between us. Relating to my patient and understanding his/her pain and discomfort allows me to place myself in a position to further express my compassion. I would refrain from judging my patient on the nature of his/her crimes because I personally, believe in forgiveness. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. I Collected Rhonda s Demographic And Intake Information In the following, we will examine three progress notes from my work with Rhonda throughout her treatment, a final clinical summary of the work, and a self reflection section on not only the challenges, but also what was learned from our work together. First, we will examine my initial clinical note on 8/15/16 with client, Rhonda Smith, session one. During this first session, I collected Rhonda s demographic and intake information (Murphy Dillon, 2015; Reamer, 2001). This included a signed consent for treatment, which we reviewed and all her questions were answered, as well as signed medical releases for previous therapy and agency records, i.e., DVIS, CPS, CASA, that will be requested (Murphy Dillon, 2015; Reamer, 2001). Additionally, she was informed about HIPAA, patient privacy rights, billing practices, professional boundaries and expectations, and how to contact me during business hours, and after hours crisis lines, and on call assistance phone numbers for resources if it is outside of my business hours (Murphy Dillon, 2015). Together with the above information, I collected a comprehensive history of Rhonda at our initial session. She is a thirty six year old Asian American, born in Los Angeles, but moved to rural Arizona when she was five because her father took a job on a cattle ranch. • 15. A Better Understanding Of Diabetes And How Kids Are... During the week that we spend at camp I hope that I will have a better understanding of Diabetes and how kids are dealing and coping with it. Sometimes we forget that when an illness happens in adults it is totally different on how it affects children so sometimes kids get ignored more often. So I hope this week will give me a better insight into what it is like for a child with diabetes day to day. My fear going into this week is that I won t be able to tell when a kid is having a low blood sugaror a high one. I know what signs to look out for but I don t have a lot of experience with this in kids. Kids are different on they present than adults so the fear is not recognizing it fast enough to get help for the child. What I think that I will contribute to the camp team is that I will be able to help with recognizing signs more quickly of hypo and hyperglycemiaeven though I still need some work. I think this will be beneficial because there may be members of the team that are less experienced so having someone that has at least seen this once will help. The previous experience that I have had with medically fragile children is going to CCK for a weekend during diabetes weekend and seeing a glimpse of children with this disease. I got to interact with the kids and play with them as if they had nothing wrong with them. The kids that were there were amazing to see on how they were coping with the disease versus their parents. Also what else was neat to see is how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Today, in the vast cyberspace, anonymity leads to audacious actions of cruel words posted by rather introverted individuals who would not dare to speak those words in a face to face encounter. Furthermore, they refuse to be held accountable for their actions and interfere with peace by creating chaos. The phrases secrets are lies , sharing is caring and privacyis theft (CITE?) are explicated in Dave Eggers , The Circle. Mae Holland follows these three mantras, justified by leaders of the Circle, to make life changing decisions. A world extracted of anonymity and instead, policed by an omniscient public is one cause to the negative effects of technology on one s private life. In The Circle, programs are developed in the Circle to implicate improved and advanced living conditions through the use of technology. Ironically, these programs such as Past Perfect , ChildTrack , SoulSearch and SeeChange introduce immoral issues. The plot of The Circle by Dave Eggers portrays the negative aspects of technology on private lives shown through character experiences in the novel and raises unethical issues about the programs created in the Circle, which correspond to the influence technology has in the real world. • 22. Analysis Of In The Time Of The Butterflies By Julia Alvarez In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez fictionalizes the harrowing lives of the Mirabal sisters, who came to represent an underground resistance against the dictator of their native Dominican Republic, Trujillo. Though the Mirabal sisters were indeed real and parts of Alvarez s novel reflect true events, this is a fictionalized account of what these sisters faced throughout their lives. Readers know from the beginning that three of the four sisters will not survive the regime, but they were shown to be noble warriors for their people throughout the novel regardless. Alvarez utilizes immersion, tension, and point of view to weave a unique story of survival and strength in the face of opposition. Perhaps the most important tool that Alvarez uses to convey the story of the Mirabal sistersis immersion. Readers are thrust into the world of the Trujillo dictatorship and though they can only grasp the experiences through the eyes of the sisters, their lives are more than enough to exemplify the cruelty of this dictator. From the beginning of the novel, DedГ© is silently judging an American woman for her lack of understanding about Dominican culture. Through small details like the fact that there are no street signs because most people can t read, there are revelations about the country in itself without just stating facts and statistics. Alvarez uses many other tools to immerse her readers and she notably uses Spanish words and sentences throughout this English novel. Some sentences are translated throughout but she does choose to leave some words untranslated both in dialogue and in the general narration from the sisters. Though this is a simple idea, it reinforces the setting of the Spanish speaking Dominican Republicand assists in immersing readers with only a few words. How and when three of the four Mirabal sisters died is established before the book is even opened as it was a true event and it is identified in any summary of the novel. Yet the story is partially told by these three sisters anyway, creating an unbearable sense of tension throughout the book as readers wonder when they will read of their deaths. They also continually interact with Trujillo, each scene making the family s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Next is from one to four months, primary circular reaction. This is when children start to coordinate their eyes with their hands, they now have foresight, and they start to act for results (behavior = attention). They start to experiment; they connect events in the places they occur ( bath in the bathtub, changing on the changing table). Also in this stage they develop object permanence. They are terracotta vases of variable size with two vertical handles, by which they are carried on both sides, designed for the transport and storage of liquids (principally olive oil and wine). They could be painted on their bellies (as in this case). A large portion of Athenian pottery was produced by the Group of Haimon and the Leafless Group,[1] and was carried thence to ports around the Mediterranean. The rest was produced for local use, specifically mixing, storing and transporting wine and oil. Attic pottery was valued in the sanctuaries of the Etruscans, where they had additional roles: cultic ritual, banqueting and votive offerings. These vases were bought specially for a given occasion and signified a dedication to a divinity. Generally, Attic cups were common while amphorae were rare. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the increase in damages to aircraft from bird and wildlife strikes, how do airports prevent from future collisions with bird and wildlife? Airports have many traditional ways of treating the issue. Some are environmentally safe while others may cause controversy with environmental and government groups. Each does have its pros and cons though. One method is the use of firearms. This method is quick but requires precise accuracy and quick judgment Either shooting to scare or to kill and remove the animal, this method is the least popular due to the fact that some wildlife are either endangered or under environmental protection. For example a United States airport would lose it s public opinion if one of the animal control employes opened fire upon an American Bald Eagle which happens to be the national bird. The use chemicals is another method that is non violent to deter bird and wildlife. Some airports use certain plants that produce chemicals and odors the makes wildlife uncomfortable and stay away from the airfield. Genetic Relatedness Between Modern Humans And Neandertals... a.Provide a brief summary of what we know about the genetic relatedness between modern humans, neandertals and chimpanzees Neandertals are similar to humans across most of the genome. They are about as similar as two humans are to each other. However, in some parts of the Neandertal genome Neandertals had more in common with chimpanzees than with humans. This shows that humans went through many changes to make them different than chimps. According to Svante Paabo, Neandertals contributed very little to the genetic makeup of modern humans. Researchers think that people who are lactose intolerant may have inherited this gene from the Neandertals. FOXP2 gene is the gene that is associated with speech in humans. Humans and chimps have several independent bone plates in our skulls that let our heads get bigger as we grow. The jaw muscle pulls against these plates. In an ape the forces can be enormous. The fans can have a large impact on the game itself as well as your experience. We all have that one friend who is way too competitive, whether it involves sports or just who finishes eating first. They cannot choose what things to be competitive at, for that nature is in their blood. The Coach is the most competitive player out of the fans. In a game, you will scarcely, see them sit down, and they are so competitive that they actas if they are actually playing the game. They could be sitting as high as the nosebleed seats and shouting at the players, telling them what to do, as if the players could somehow hear them. Yet they are being obnoxious to the people around them, for, unfortunately, they can hear them quite clearly. Coaches are essentially the backseat drivers of sports. The next fanwe have is the complete opposite of a Coach, hence the quotation marks. Phonies come for the experience, not for the game. Phonies often come wearing all of the team s gear, yet it is all for the aesthetics and for the sports façade. You may think that the game is on their phone because that is what they ll spend most of their time watching. Unlike the Coach, others will not notice or pay much attention to Phonies, yet you will know they were there because it will be posted on social media or other public accounts. Coaches tend to be stubborn and close minded, so not much bothers them. Except for the Rookie. Rookies are the bane of Coaches. Unlike Phonies, they are genuinely interested in the game. Unfortunately, they know little to nothing about the sport, and the people to suffer are the ones like Coaches. They are constantly asking questions about how it works and what s going on in the game, preventing others from fully enjoying and experiencing the game. Most of American society before the Pearl Harbor attack also believed in the idea of isolationism. Americans didn t want to get into the European war if they didn t have to. Intentional Torts And False Punishment Introduction This week we have been introduced to intentional torts, including battery, assault, trespass of land, trespass of chattels, conversion and false imprisonment. Most of us are blind to tortious acts, yet they are clearly occurring around us. This class will, in part, give us an attorney s awareness of torts in the real world. In 2005 there were 2,012 intentional torts, slander/libel, false arrest/imprisonment, and conversion claims in state courts. (Thomas H. Assault I commute into the city on the MBTA commuter rail several days a week. It is typically an orderly, quiet ride. However, winter delays cause extreme overcrowding that makes otherwise reasonable riders irritable. Unavoidable bumping and jostling occurs but does not constitute a tort. However, not long ago I was standing on a very crowded train when an irate man yelled at me to move or, he was going to move me out of the way himself. This paper is based on CUDA, a parallel computing platform model, which utilizes the resources of the Graphical Processing Unit (GPU), increasing the computing performance of our system, hence creating a robust parallel computing unit. In this paper, we will be introducing a brief history on CUDA, it s execution flow and it s architecture to handle processor intensive tasks. We will also be highlighting some of it s real life applications and the difference in performance as compared of the only CPU based architectures. Also, since most of the CUDA applications are written in C/C++, we will also be exploring how CUDA provides the programmable interface in such languages as well. Finally, we will be including the current research activities... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So, in 2007, NVIDIA released CUDA, which provided the parallel architecture, to support the usage of the GPUs. It was designed to work with programming languages such as C/C++ or Fortran and this really helped specialists in parallel programming to use CUDA, rather than to learn other advanced skills in GPU programming[10] . The model for GPU computing is to use a CPU and GPU together in a heterogeneous co processing computing model[3]. The framework is designed such that the sequential part of the application runs on the CPU and the computationally intensive part is accelerated by the GPU. From the user s point of view, the application is faster because it is using the better performance of the GPU to improve its own performance. Figure1: Core comparison between CPU and GPU 3. Architecture Since GPUs have large number of resources with hundreds of cores and thousands of threads to be utilized and have very high number of arithmetic and logical units. Hence it provides a huge parallel architectural framework to work with. Here is a block diagram that generally describes CUDAs architecture. Figure 2: Block diagram for CUDA Architecture[4] Basic Units of CUDA Figure 2 showed the top level block diagram of the overall architecture of CUDA. Now, exploring more on to the details, we will be discussing about the basic units of CUDA. Figure 3 : CUDA supported GPU structure [11] The architecture ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. Giancarlo De Carlo, An Italian Architect Giancarlo De Carlo was an Italian Architect. He wasn t known as an architect until the 1940s, but rather a writer and a teacher. He trained as an architect in the 1940s, which was during the Second World War, leading him to generate his philosophy towards life and architecture but he did not start building until the 1950s. He was a founding member of Team X, Team X was a group of architects that formed at the 9th congress of CIAM (CongrГЁs International d Architecture Moderne). Their aim was to reassess the role and function of architecture, paying attention to rebuilding built environments and their surrounding social and natural conditions. Famous works by De Carlo include The Magistero at Urbino, 1968 76, Collegio del Colle at Urbino, 1962 66 and Faculty of Economics at University of Urbino, 1986 99. De Carlo has strong opinions about ModernismMovement; he often critiques the Modern Movement. He sees that the Modern Movement was an opportunity wasted, as he had written a number of articles regarding Modern Architecture. Modernism was a radical movement that first emerged in the early 20th century, but was not popular till after the Second World War. During the 1970s, many architects began to notice the increasing failures of the Modern Movement. De Carlo has a lot of criticism towards the Modern Movement. Though he believes that the aims of the Modern Movement were correct and valuable, they failed to deliver to the users, they had failed to provide architecture ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. Speech On Road Safety 90 % of Indians are asking this question as they think that wearing helmet is an extra burden along with other burdens they carry in their daily life. People give lots of explanation for not wearing helmet while riding bike. In spite of hearing /reading all those accident incidents in news, bike riders still say no to helmet. Some think riding bike is adventures and exciting with no helmet, for some it s highly irritating, some thinks that carrying helmet wherever they go is highly impossible. They have seen loss of life due to accidentswhich could have avoided by wearing helmet and suffering of accident victim s family only in news paper. I just wish that no one experience loss of life especially due to ignorance. Every year around 1.2 billion people had been into accident in which half of accidents are bike related. Global Status Report on Road safety states that India is one of the leading countries in road accidents. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In tropical countries if we stuck in traffic it s difficult and we should suffer all these heat and sweat. To avoid that plan your office timing, look for peak hours and start from home earlier which will help to avoid traffic to some extent. We can do nothing for unconditional roads rather than waiting for the government to solve the problem. In that case we should drive carefully in optimum speed. Face shield in helmet gets affected by road dust, pollution, rain, heat; and gives blurred vision. So change the face shield or helmet itself as it is not safe to wear blurred vision helmet while driving. Driving faster is not fun and it is hazardous to you as well as to others. Carrying helmet is bit difficult but losing life is even more difficult. Keep in mind. Short or long trips helmet is must , we can t say only long trips get into accident. We don t know what will happen the very next moment, so taking precautionary measures is always ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
