Essay On Crime In Central America
Crime in Central America, especially in the Northern Triangle of Honduras, El Salvador, and
Guatemala are reaching stunning levels. Murder rates in the district are among the highest in the
world. Though the United States has offered a significant aid to Central America, it only adds to the
issue through its amounts of drug smuggling, weak gun control laws, and deportation policies that
have sent home more than a million illegal migrants with violent records. These nations, form a region
known as the Northern Triangle, the long term effects since the civil wars in the 1980s can still be
seen, leaving a history of violence and corrupt communities. Since then a huge number of
Salvadorans, Guatemalans, and Hondurans, have been arriving in the Unified States. About thirty

The cause and effect of violence is different in every country, The CFR (Council of Foreign Relations)
stated in a special report in 2012 organized crime is a clear legacy of the region s decades of war. The
two most prominent being Guatemala s civil war (1960 96) leaving as many as two hundred thousand
civilians dead and El Salvador s (1979 92) this time leaving as many as seventy five thousand dead. El
Salvador in particular has earned the title of the most world s most violent countries not at war. in
recent years. Since then, suddenly all who were rebel soldiers and or government officials were left
unemployed with no chance of opportunity. This quickly led to the formation of various gangs and
extreme crime rates, due to the easy access of leftover weapons. The most prominent gangs to come
out of Central America is La Mara Salvatrucha. This is also accompanied by multiple U.S gangs as
MS13 and MS18, Both being formed in Los Angeles by Salvadorans migrants who fled during the

Research Paper On Sally Ride
Sally Ride: A Name to Remember When growing up, a lot of kids say they want to be an astronaut
when they are older. This was not the case for Sally Ride. She claimed that she did not want to be an
astronaut and knew that there were little to no women in that profession. Then one day, the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) sent out flyers looking for women to become apart of
the program and that changed Sally Ride s life forever. NASA mainly recruited white males who were
in the military to work for them. It was not until the Equal Employment Opportunity Act was passed
that in a way forced NASA to consider women for some of their jobs. NASA then created a new job
for astronauts which was to help the pilot on space flights (Friedman). Sally Ride was a very good
student in high school and decided to go to Stanford University for college. At Stanford, she got her
bachelor s degree in physics which she then narrowed it down to X ray astronomy and free electron
laser research. Towards the end of her schooling at Stanford, Ride came across an article in the school
newspaper talking about how NASA was in search for scientist to become specialists on one of their
shuttles (Freni 151). Ride, just like 8,079 other people, sent in an application hoping to become a
member of NASA s 1978 astronaut class. After a lengthy wait, Ride was told that she was one out of
six women to be an astronaut candidate (Freni 152). On June 18, 1983, Sally Ride became the first

Sand Flies Research Paper
Sand flies (Diptera: Nematocera: Psychodidae: Phlebotominae) are a medically important group of
insects in Tropical and Sub tropical regions of the World (Rodani, 1840). They are small hairy yellow
or gray colored insects 1.5 4mm in length (Robert, 1994).There are three features that make sand flies
easy to recognize: when at rest, they characteristically hold their wings at an angle above the
abdomen; they are hairy; and they typically hop around on the host before settling down to bite
(Killick Kendrick, 1999). The life cycle of sand fly commences with the egg stage, followed by four
larval instars, pupa, and adults. Egg and larval dormancy and diapauses have been reported for sand
flies (Ready, 2013). The diurnal resting site includes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most important diseases, however, are the leishmaniases (Lainson, 1982). Leishmaniases, are
parasitic diseases with a wide range of clinical symptoms: cutaneous, mucocutaneous and visceral
leishmaniasis (Kravchenko et al., 2004). The most common form is Cutaneous Leishmaniasis, CL
(Akhoundi et al., 2016). Two protozoan species Leishmania major and Leishmania tropica are
important agents of CL throughout Pakistan. While Leishmania donovani causes Visceral
Leishmaniasis mostly in upper northern regions of Pakistan such as Chitral (Rab et al., 1995 and
Tanoli et al., 2005). Transmission occurs during feeding. The leishmania parasites develop into an
infective form inside the gut of the sand fly vector and are injected together with saliva into host body
during blood feeding (Kato et al., 2006) In the Old world the predominant sand fly vectors of
Leishmaniases include P. papatasi, P. duboscqi (Mukhopadhyay et al., 2000), P. longiductus and P.
smirnovi (Maroli et al., 2001), P. sergenti (Coleman et al., 2006), P. salehi (Azizi et al., 2012). In

Abstract
This leadership development plan (LDP) is tailored for its author and is not a research paper in the
traditional sense. The author begins with his personal framework for leadership. Included are the
results of several leadership assessment tools, information from coaching, and personal feedback, and
insights into the author s goals for career and leadership development. The report concludes with
thoughts on future development, and evaluating the progress of personal development.
Keywords: development plan, transformational leadership, behaviors, practices, learning process.

my failures.
Self Assessment
Ivan F. Rodriguez September 2012: Use of Power: Expert and referent, Leadership Style: Concern for
task, Team Skills: 90, Conflict handling Style: Competing. My contribution to the teams I lead is very
restrictive and task focused. This helps ensure team member s work is of the quality required, and
complete on time. I tend to work to ensure everyone knows their position and what they need to do to
complete tasks. My expert leadership approach brings my background experiences into the task at
hand, and help my team members learn and grow. I tend to not be overbearing in the information
presented but instead fill in when needed to give guidance to finish the task. I work closely with team
members to get information to all involved. If conflicts arise, I will push to get the conflict eliminated
through overpowering the situation with expert knowledge and experience.
I have interest and determination in building relationships, working leadership from the individual and
interpersonal level. I have little patience with individuals who are uncooperative or who create more
work for the rest of us. I have excellent communication skills that will help me to foster my LDP.
Although my emotional intelligence has improved over the years, my LDP considers the need to

My I Wish You d Die
I wish you d die
I whispered on the night of July 22, 2013. I laid in bed thinking about my, unfortunately, biological
father. I was comparing him to my step dad. Did I think he could of ever been as close of a father like
my step dad? A few days ago he had promised to pick me up earlier that evening so that we could
spend a whole day together the following day, but he never showed up. Many times this had happened
and I couldn t stand it no longer.
I looked at the clock and it ticked slowly, it seemed to be more tired than I was. A second seemed like
a minute, a minute seemed like an hour, the night seemed like an eternity. I anxiously waited for sleep
to engulf me. Hours later when the night sky was no longer black, like the ocean ... Show more

Oh. I m sorry he didn t show up honey then she went on telling me how he was irrelevant in my life,
despite him being my biological father.
A few minutes later as I enjoyed a delicious cup of chocolate the house phone rang. I has offered to
pick it up but my grandmother was already on her way. I sat in the kitchen sipping on my cup looking
out the window. The sky had grown gray and I felt the hairs on my back stand up. My grandmother
returned to the kitchen with eyes of sadness that stared at me as she stood under the arch. She tried to
say something but no words were produced.
Is something wrong I said asked? I had said as got up from my seat and made my way to the entrance

Your mother is on the phone. She, she wants to talk to you We made our way to the living room where
the phone was kept. I reached the phone and slowly placed it next to my ear.
Hello? I spoke with fear.

Christian, she sniffed. Had she been crying?

Ralph Waldo Emerson s Nature Analysis
Live in the sunshine. Swim in the sea. Drink the wild air Ralph Waldo Emerson. Emerson s quote
enlightens the idea of transcendentalism. Declaring to enjoy nature for what it is , to value the idea of
having the freedom of it and to realize there is more to life than what you are living. In the essay,
Nature , by Ralph Waldo Emerson he finds himself challenged by the honesty of nature, which
compares to Chris McCandless adventure in the book, Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer. First, one must
enjoy things as how they come. Emerson explains this feat in his essay by shadowing there is more
than what meets the eye to nature. His purpose for thinking this is shown in this, Nature never wears a
mean appearance (Emerson220). In this, Emerson ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Proclaiming this, Krakauer means after one experiences something so great they learn and are shaped
by the change they had. As one goes on in life they change, just like Chris is when he went to into the
wild. As the book goes on it avers, The fullest sense of the word, an epic journey would change
everything (Krakauer22). Displaying that Krakauer is referring to McCandless trip. How one thing
could change someone so much. The honesty of nature shaped McCandless as he was on this
adventure. It showed him how good life can be. As one can tell Emerson s essay and Krakauer s book
shows how on is shaped by the honesty of nature. Emerson and McCandless story are similar. They
both feel like nature is a pure thing. Comparing the two, when McCandless is living off the land and
how both feel like one should use the land to its full potential. Also, the two excerpts are similar for
both explain that nature is something that is truly aesthetic. As both stories set out to prove how one
can overlook how extraordinary nature is. It wasn t until McCandless set out into the wild that he
candidly appreciated the outdoors. Nature and Into the Wild both state that adults don t see nature in
full. McCandless and Emerson realize that there is copious more to nature as one grows older, but it s
rarely recognized. As McCandless takes his adventure into the wild, he realizes how superlative it is
and how one

Poisoning by Ingestion of Corrosive Chemicals
Introduction: Acute corrosive poisonings are caused by ingestion of corrosive chemicals which are
most commonly used as household agents. Intoxications with these kind of agents produce numerous
and severe post corrosive complications of the upper gastrointestinal tract. On the other hand, our
experience showed that corrosive agents may also cause injuries of the respiratory system, which
makes the treatment very hard and additionally complicates the severe clinical condition of the patient.
Objective: The aim of the study is to show the incidence of respiratory complications in acute
corrosive poisonings, the need of various clinical investigations and also the treatment and final
outcome of these kind of poisoning.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed clinical records of 415 patients hospitalized and treated at the
University clinic for toxicology and urgent internal medicine, in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, in
the period between 2007 and 2011. The protocol consisted of methods for analyzing the systemic
complications, with an accent on the post corrosive respiratory complications.
Results: From the total number of patients even 98 (23.61%) exhibited systemic complications, from
which 51 (52.04%) are respiratory complications. The majority of patients are female (n=40, 78.43%)
and the most common complication is pneumonia (n=47). The youngest patient in this study was 14
and the oldest was 87 years old.
Conclusion: Besides the gastrointestinal complications in the

The Adoption Of Electronic Health Records
According to a survey from SK A, after an initial migration to health IT solutions, practice owners
adoption of electronic health records (EHR) has plateaued with only about a 2.8% increase from
January 2014 to January 2015. The survey found that overall adoption by physicians is 62.8%, and
that, in general, the larger the practice, the (not surprisingly) higher the adoption rates, with 77.2% of
docs at medical groups of 25 or more members using EHRs this is compared to only 54.5% of solo
practitioners adopting the technology. Why the Drop in Adoption Rates? Other survey findings clearly
illustrate the fact that while EHRs do come with benefits, most are not embraced by physicians
because of their lack of functionality and difficulty of use. According to this survey , overall provider
satisfaction with EHRs has declined by almost 30% over the past five years. Conducted by the
American Medical Association and American EHR Partners, the survey questioned 940 practice
owners about their level of satisfaction with their EHR. What was interesting right off the bat about
these findings was that only 34% of physicians said they were satisfied or very satisfied with their
EHR systems compared to 61% of respondents who were satisfied only five years ago. The survey
also found: 42% of physicians described their EHR s ability to improve efficiency as difficult or very
difficult. 43% said they were consistently challenged with their EHR s ability to address productivity.

Many times in history great empires fall under those who cannot protect their king and who would
give up rather than help protect what is rightfully theirs. Robert Baden Powell was a prime example of
showing how to be as a scout, trying to be a good leader in the country to follow as most kids looked

for fortnight., He taught them basic skills on camping, observation, deduction, woodcraft, chivalry;
Chivalry was most important to Baden Powell. This was very successful for him and his workers; he
had set up a central Boy Scouts office and at the end of 1908, there were 60,000 Boy scouts. On
September 1909, was the first national Boy Scout meeting and it was held at the Crystal Palace in
London. 10,000 boy scouts showed up and also a group of girl scouts. Later on in 1910, Baden Powell

Foreshadowing In The Lottery Research Paper
Essay on Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
People think winning the lottery is a good thing. However, in Shirley Jackson s story, The Lottery the
winner gets something very crucial, getting stoned to death. Shirley Jackson uses, foreshadowing, the
attitude of the villagers, and the subtleness of the black box, to provide the gruesome ending of the
story for the reader. Making the story, eerie, serious, and horrifying, the story takes an unexpected
twist; the reader will soon realize that the lottery is not what they thought it would be. Bobby Martin

Analysis Of A Chimney Sweeper By William Blake
Have you ever heard about chimney sweepers? Well if you haven t chimney sweepers are little kids
between the age of 4 and 7 who are forced to climb up inside chimneys and clean residue off from
walls. These little children suffered from serious injuries physically, internally and mentally. This
torture started to build a deadly cancer because of all the toxins they would intake and to force
children to clean faster they would start a fire at the bottom. In some cases these children would have
serious burns or burn to death. The masters would buy in these children just to have them clean
chimneys and sleep in a cold basement on soot along with a dozen others. The master sweepers would
let these children starve, no bath, no clothes etc. the trend of having a chimney sweeper didn t start
until the 16th century in england and buy the 17th century it became more common because fires
would start due to the over residue built up within the chimney. William Blake is a victim of being a
chimney sweeper. His father sold him away when he was only 5 years old. After his father sold him he
would walk along the sidewalk barely able to say sweep because of how young he was. As he got
older he wrote a few poems, one of innocence and the other for experience. Reading these poems
contains such imagery from the strong diction used and tone. They give such context as to what blake
would see.. In William Blake s first poem, The Chimney Sweeper (from Songs of Innocence), the tone
used created such imagery with the diction used. When reading this poem you hear the misery, pain
and suffering not only did he go through but all the children that were being neglected from personal
hygiene, hunger, and body protection (clothes). He uses both negative and positive words to give the
reader an idea as to what he saw and felt. Negative were used more than positive because being a
chimney sweeper wasn t fun when you were 5 6 or 7 years old and seeing other little kids die from the
cancer from the toxins inhaled and some even burning in the chimney. William also gives a brief story
of what happened to his friend tom and then telling a dream of hopefulness to get away from the
torture that an angel saved them from but then just to wake up

All of these main characters shared a lot of common attributes. The first and most important attribute

We Are Fascinated By Robots
People are fascinated by robots. Movies for many years have explored themes of humanity and
artificial intelligence, and at what point those two mix. Perhaps what is so interesting about these films
is the question humans have been asking themselves for thousands of years, what makes something
human? Or even, What makes someone sentient ? It s an intriguing thought. The movie, I, Robot, asks
this question, but it also explores something called the Three Laws , and several moral theories. While
perhaps it doesn t answer any of the queries it brings up, the film is at the very least, curious and
thought provoking. The movie I, Robot is set in the vaguely near future where personal robots have
been integrated into society. These robots are in most every household, like the smart phones of today,
and they are being designed to look increasingly human. While most people in the movie consider
these robots as laptops or iPods that is, a piece of machinery that could do more harm or betray you
than a toaster could a Detective Spooner regards them with suspicion. Because of an car crash where a
robot rescued him instead of a young girl, as the robot calculated Spooner had a greater chance of
survival, the Detective distrusts all robots. Throughout the film, he is ridiculed for believing that
robots could be dangerous. They are all programmed with the Three Laws. Surely, with the Laws in
place, nothing can go wrong.
Spooner then meets a robot called Sonny, who

There are 03 types of strategies for selecting a target a market for Tucson textiles
Undifferentiated marketing This type of marketing views the market as one group with no segments
therefore using a single marketing strategy. Undifferentiated marketing generally involves targeting
the whole with one product and an undifferentiated marketing can be cheaper that other strategies
because there is only one product to produce. This strategy utilizes a single marketing mix to reach the
maximum number of consumers in the target market selected.
Differentiated marketing Here the marketing strategy targets different market segments with specific
marketing mix, which is designed to meet those segments needs. Differentiated marketing strategy
involves the preparation and communication of different brand and product messages to different
types of customers.
Concentrated marketing This type of marketing focuses on selecting a particular market. This strategy
can categorize the company into a single product. Concentrated marketing is famous for small firms
because mass distribution, production and mass advertising are not necessary these firms can achieve
profit with limited resources.

The Power Of Myth By Joseph Campbell
Culture is something that influences everyone s individual behaviorisms, both consciously and
unconsciously. Everybody has a personal culture, often learned from other groups, which then have
their own distinct characteristics. Joseph Campbell was a celebrated American scholar who studied
mythology, having popularized the idea of the hero s journey. The Power of Myth is a book based on
the six episode documentary Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth, in which Campbell and
interviewer Bill Moyers examine the human world. Both discuss Campbell s thoughts about
mythology, and ultimately culture. Campbell s The Power of Myth introduces important ideas that don

Moreover, Campbell dedicated his life to studying myth and religion, something that I probably
wouldn t choose to do with my time. Another instance where Campbell shared his dissimilar
observations of myths is his assertion that [i]f you were not alert to the parallel themes, you perhaps
would think they were quite different stories, but they re not. (Campbell 14). Campbell has studied so
many myths that he was able to find the universal lessons that humans have learned. Another
interpretation is that Campbell has made the generalization that all myths are essentially the same. I
believe that while there may be overarching themes found throughout myths, there are still key
differences that make each culture s mythology unique. Trying to group everything into a precise
category or combining all myths into a single monomyth makes any other possibilities obsolete. For
example, both my favorite TV show and book series retell well known fairy tales. Finding new
meanings in a story that is otherwise cliché can be eye opening. I think myths and fairy tales alike
reflect the variances between cultures and times, which fluctuate, but Campbell concluded that all
myths tell the same story. This is yet another disparity between Campbell s views on myth and my
own.
Campbell s personal values didn t seem to emphasize independence and diversity as much as mine.
For instance, Campbell said that marriage is the

A Research Study On Relational Database Technology
Abstract. In this report I will introduce the Memcached technology and provide more details about it.
In addition, I will explain how it works and how it differs than relational database technology.
Furthermore, I will use the finding of the paper Performance Evaluation of a Clustered Memcached to
present how Memcached can improve the performance of the web applications. The paper that I did
study is about a simulation project of using three different architectures of Memcached. The
simulation results will monitor the CPU and RAM usability of all the nodes in these three
architectures. I will explain the results and will discuss the findings of their results.
The relational database technology dominated the web applications for more than 30 years. This
technology is able to handle limited load to the database. However, the internet technologies and the
advents of the smart phones make the web applications to be accessible by many users and from any
location that is covered by the internet connectivity. In addition, currently, the web data in the internet
is dominated by the social networking and social media applications which include: Facebook,
Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and others. This kind of web applications will likely be prone to the high
load of the database layer. As a result, it was not possible for the relational database technology to
handle the database load for such applications. Even scaling out the application servers will not solve

Inside Out Theory
The origin of the eukaryotic cell is a concept that is widely debated in the world of science. In 1970,
Lynn Margulis proposed the endosymbiotic theory. More recently, Baum and Baum (2014) came out
with the Inside out theory for the origin of the eukaryotic cell. They refer to the endosymbiosis theory
as the Outside in theory. These two models propose that the eukaryotic cell arose from prokaryotic
origins. Only one of these theories is more parsimonious.
In the endosymbiosis theory, Lynn Margulis proposed the origin and evolution of the mitochondrion
and the chloroplast, two eukaryotic organelles (Bergstrom and Dugatkin, 2016). She hypothesized that
these two organelles were not originally internal components of a eukaryotic ancestor, ... Show more

The inside out theory is more parsimonious than the outside in theory in that it can explain eukaryotic
cell organization by the formation of extracellular blebs that enveloped the proto mitochondria. This
theory describes the whole process of eukaryotic cell formation including the formation of a nucleus
and ER. The endosymbiosis theory lacks the explanation for the formation of any of the other
organelles. It only describes that bacteria was phagocytized and became the membrane bound
organelles seen today. The endosymbiosis theory is not continuous; it makes a lot of jumps in the

Western Civilization Government
Chronological
For this essay, I will show chronologically the way government has changed throughout western
civilization. I will first give a brief introduction of each time period and then explain the type of
government or laws being used. Government is a very important factor to the prosperity of a
settlement, and throughout this time period multiple different type of governments were put into
effect. The most visual way that government changed throughout this time period is with the
development of a more sizeable party to govern as well as the complexity of the system. Early
governments began as a small leadership of a tribe or clan, however as bigger cities began to grow
many developed what is known as a bureaucracy in order to rule ... Show more content on

This new found kingdom was home of the Minoans. The Minoan society developed a social hierarchy
type of government meaning that depending on one s social status would show where he would have a
voice in the government. However, many communities would allow an individual to take power over
the land with a group of highly trusted nobles to guide him in the right direction. This shows how the
Greeks would use diverse types of governments in the different settlements they gained control over.
The Greeks would develop a new type of society called the Mycenaeans after they gained control over
Thebes, Athens, and Mycenae. The Mycenaeans were a military based society that was ruled by local
kings that followed the ruling of the king of Mycenae. The king and his warrior aristocracy were at the
top of the political chain where they would enforce and create laws for the citizens of Mycenae. One
of the most important political change for the Greeks would be the development of polis. Polis is
defined as a city state where a community of citizens, with no king, would become self governing and
develop their own laws. In order for the city state to prosper they would need to keep the population
low to prevent chaos or disagreements in the society. This would allow the Greeks to be able to
individually fit into the overall system of

Procurement And Procurement Of Procurement
Procurement is also referred to as the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services for commercial
purposes. Every decision unit, be it a farmer or a firm, sets procurement policies that govern its choice
of suppliers, products, and the methods and procedures of buying. Depending upon the size of the
decision unit and the complexity and level of formality of the agribusiness concern, procurement
practices are evolved in various segments. At the farm level, sourcing decisions to many inputs and
services are decided by push factors, which is based on the availability of input to be sourced off the
shelf. However, mismatch between what is required at the field and when may not be available. For an
individual farmer, inputs that are involved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Peer groups build and improve upon relationships with many stakeholders, such as input suppliers and
extension support system providers. This helps better handling of procurement challenges such as
identifying the needs of customers (farmers) and suppliers, choosing tools and processes to
communicate with suppliers, policies for evaluating proposals, and quotes and suppliers (pricing
aspects). It is important to note that group behavior and systems dominate the procurement process at
the farm level. 5 Pricing After having discussed procurement as a driver, one may look at pricing as a
supply chain driver in the agribusiness input sector. At the farm gate level, seeds are fairly priced on
the basis of market conditions. Fertilizer is a product that in India is highly price sensitive and
subsidized. The GOI has initiated nutrient based subsidy schemes from 2010, and is expected to
reduce fertilizer subsidy over the years. From the supply chain perspective, changes in central and
state government support for fertilizer prices in form of subsidy would impact demand and supply.
Another important agribusiness input is agricultural laborers. In India, supply of agricultural laborers
is becoming a problem, as majority of the rural population is no longer willing to work on demanding
jobs in the field. This situation could be the result

The Leader Of The People By John Steinbeck
Isolated Generation In the short story The Leader of the People John Steinbeck writes about a young
boy named Jody, who lives on an isolated ranch with his parents and a hired worker. Jody s parents are
stern with him and give him orders to take care of the ranch, but Jody wants to explore the world and
live like a normal child. After Jody finds out his grandfather is visiting, he is happy and wants to hear
about the adventurous stories his grandfather tells about the Great Plains. When Grandfather s tales
create a controversy, he tells Jody how the ocean is the end of discovery. In The Leader of the People
Steinbeck uses the ranch, ocean, and Grandfather to symbolically develop the conflict between past
and present. Steinbeck uses the ranch to symbolize isolation from the outside world. Since the ranch is
secluded away from other human activity, the family rarely leaves the ridge top. Steinbeck gives
characterization to the animals to demonstrate how isolated the ranch is; for example, the cat walks in
the direction of the road, but gallop[s] back again (1) and does not try to leave. When Jody s father
comes home, the dog look[s] up the hill toward the cleft in the ridge (2) and stares at the road. Like the
animals, Jody feels isolated because his parents teach him only about responsibilities he has to uphold
for the benefit of the ranch. Since Jody is taught to work hard, he does not get the chance to be around
other children. Although Jody does not have a lot of

The Great Recession Analysis
The Great Recession was financial down turn that happened from 2007 2009, largely because of the
housing market decline. The term recession refers to any significant decline in an economy that lasts
longer that a few months. Its beginning can be signified by two consecutive negative quarters of
economic growth. The great Recession caused many areas of the economy to struggle, one of the
biggest was the unemployment rate. In December of 2007 the unemployment rate was 5%. From that
point this number grew until it had reached 10% in October of 2010. Due to the unemployment rates
steady rise, the national output decreased.
The government created several programs to help the economy during the Great Recession. One of the

Hamlet Movie Adaptation
Hamlet was written in 1609 by William Shakespeare; Shakespeare is one of the greatest poets and
playwrights. Since the original performance of Hamlet, there have been many movie adaptations.
Some of the many well known film directors for these movies are Kenneth Branagh, Franco Zeffirelli
and Sir Laurence Olivier. From the above film directors, I will compare and contrast Zeffirelli s
production of Hamlet to the original Shakespeare s play Hamlet.
Zeffirelli s version of Hamlet is one of the sound versions of Hamlet. It was produced and starred Mel
Gibson in the late 1900s. Comparing the film version of Hamlet to the play, Zeffirelli has made
noticeable changes in the movie including some clothing choices and characters reactions. He also
altered and cut lines from the original Shakespeare play.
Shakespeare centralized the theme of revenge in the ghost scene in Act 1 Scene 5 with the use of
literary devices. In the movie adaptation, Zeffirelli used a different approach to portray the theme,
without the use of any literary devices. He instead used costume choices, characters reactions and
different word choices.
Zeffirelli used a creative way to portray Hamlet s father wearing a white shirt with black pants instead
of Shakespeare s choice of armour. He used this to show how Hamlet s father would look in 90 s
society. He made Hamlet wear black clothing throughout the movie to show that Hamlet was the only
one who cared and grieved throughout his mother s marriage and until his own death.
Zeffirelli changed the characters reactions throughout the scenes. One of the character changes is
during Hamlet s father s ghost soliloquy. Instead of his father being projected as angry towards his
wife and his brother in the movie, he uses a calm tone. In the movie while Hamlet was listening to his
father, he should have looked angry and upset. Instead he had no emotions while listening to his
father. In the movie, he should have an angry tone and should be eager to plot revenge on who killed
his father, instead he did not talk throughout his father s death story. Zeffirelli chose this so that the
audience will wait and anticipate when Hamlet s anger will grow and his reaction during the scene.

Essay on Domestic Terrorism
Domestic Terrorism
National terrorism has been the focus of attention since September 11. But now domestic terrorism is
becoming increasingly common among hate groups across the nation. Domestic terrorism can be
defined as visible crime, or street crime. These acts would consist of violent crimes, (acts against
people in which injury or death results) property crimes (acts that threaten property held by
individuals or the state) and public order crimes. (acts that threaten the general well being of society
and challenger accepted moral principles) It can also however be described as political crime,

More specifically, we read and study for classes because we are students. In turn, people in these
deviant groups plan and/or commit violent acts against people, other groups, the government, etc.
because they are in those groups. A specific example from the article would be in October 2004 in
Tennessee the FBI arrested Demetrius Van Crocker who hated the government and tried to acquire
explosives and chemical weapons so that he could blow up a government building. [1] His role was to
hate the government, and try to destroy it or hurt it in anyway. Perhaps the concept that would relate to
this article the best is deviance. Deviance is behavior that violates the standards of conduct or
expectations of a group or society. To our society these domestic terrorist acts and domestic terrorist
groups would be considered deviant. They violate the standards of conduct or expectations that we set
for our society, by committing acts of terrorism on people, other groups and our nation as a whole.
Deviance can tie into the labeling theory which is when the label of being deviant is applied to a
person. Furthermore, these people and groups would be seen as pure deviant(s), which means they are
perceived as deviant and actually are deviant. This brings us to our last concept, social control, which
are the strategies and techniques for preventing deviant behavior in any society. The article describes

After David put himself in God s hands he reminisced that God has not given him into the hands of his

Introduction From the sound of it, a fashion photographer is a person who makes a living in the
fashion world from taking photographs of clothing and accessories lines. Through this, the
photographer has the ability to communicate with the designer to make sure that the right qualities of
the fashion lines are emphasized. I got this information from common sense, but there are somethings

Middle-Class American Consumer Culture In The 1960 s
The 1960s was a time when the consumer based economy became customary in American culture.
Though apparent in previous decades, consumer culture matured during this time with middle class
Americans generating more disposable income due to the post war economic upturn. This newfound
wealth came channels for self expression that allowed new opportunities that challenged traditional
American philosophies regarding sex and other social norms. What was once considered taboo, could
now be bought at a price. The commercialization of sex founded a new sexually liberated America.
When World War II ended America experienced a baby boom . Americans were quick to procreate.
They felt the future held nothing but tranquility and prosperity. They were right. Between 1945 and

increase was due to government spending on projects such as the construction of interstate highways

She claimed that she did not want to be an astronaut and knew that there were little to no women in that profession. Then one day, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) sent out flyers looking for women to become apart of the program and that changed Sally Ride s life forever. NASA mainly recruited white males who were in the military to work for them. It was not until the Equal Employment Opportunity Act was passed that in a way forced NASA to consider women for some of their jobs. NASA then created a new job for astronauts which was to help the pilot on space flights (Friedman). Sally Ride was a very good student in high school and decided to go to Stanford University for college. At Stanford, she got her bachelor s degree in physics which she then narrowed it down to X ray astronomy and free electron laser research. Towards the end of her schooling at Stanford, Ride came across an article in the school newspaper talking about how NASA was in search for scientist to become specialists on one of their shuttles (Freni 151). Ride, just like 8,079 other people, sent in an application hoping to become a member of NASA s 1978 astronaut class. After a lengthy wait, Ride was told that she was one out of six women to be an astronaut candidate (Freni 152). On June 18, 1983, Sally Ride became the first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Adoption Of Electronic Health Records According to a survey from SK A, after an initial migration to health IT solutions, practice owners adoption of electronic health records (EHR) has plateaued with only about a 2.8% increase from January 2014 to January 2015. The survey found that overall adoption by physicians is 62.8%, and that, in general, the larger the practice, the (not surprisingly) higher the adoption rates, with 77.2% of docs at medical groups of 25 or more members using EHRs this is compared to only 54.5% of solo practitioners adopting the technology. Why the Drop in Adoption Rates? Other survey findings clearly illustrate the fact that while EHRs do come with benefits, most are not embraced by physicians because of their lack of functionality and difficulty of use. According to this survey , overall provider satisfaction with EHRs has declined by almost 30% over the past five years. Conducted by the American Medical Association and American EHR Partners, the survey questioned 940 practice owners about their level of satisfaction with their EHR. What was interesting right off the bat about these findings was that only 34% of physicians said they were satisfied or very satisfied with their EHR systems compared to 61% of respondents who were satisfied only five years ago. The survey also found: 42% of physicians described their EHR s ability to improve efficiency as difficult or very difficult. 43% said they were consistently challenged with their EHR s ability to address productivity. ... Well if you haven t chimney sweepers are little kids between the age of 4 and 7 who are forced to climb up inside chimneys and clean residue off from walls. These little children suffered from serious injuries physically, internally and mentally. This torture started to build a deadly cancer because of all the toxins they would intake and to force children to clean faster they would start a fire at the bottom. In some cases these children would have serious burns or burn to death. The masters would buy in these children just to have them clean chimneys and sleep in a cold basement on soot along with a dozen others. The master sweepers would let these children starve, no bath, no clothes etc. the trend of having a chimney sweeper didn t start until the 16th century in england and buy the 17th century it became more common because fires would start due to the over residue built up within the chimney. William Blake is a victim of being a chimney sweeper. His father sold him away when he was only 5 years old. After his father sold him he would walk along the sidewalk barely able to say sweep because of how young he was. As he got older he wrote a few poems, one of innocence and the other for experience. Perhaps what is so interesting about these films is the question humans have been asking themselves for thousands of years, what makes something human? Or even, What makes someone sentient ? It s an intriguing thought. The movie, I, Robot, asks this question, but it also explores something called the Three Laws , and several moral theories. While perhaps it doesn t answer any of the queries it brings up, the film is at the very least, curious and thought provoking. The movie I, Robot is set in the vaguely near future where personal robots have been integrated into society. Everybody has a personal culture, often learned from other groups, which then have their own distinct characteristics. Joseph Campbell was a celebrated American scholar who studied mythology, having popularized the idea of the hero s journey. The Power of Myth is a book based on the six episode documentary Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth, in which Campbell and interviewer Bill Moyers examine the human world. Moreover, Campbell dedicated his life to studying myth and religion, something that I probably wouldn t choose to do with my time. Another instance where Campbell shared his dissimilar observations of myths is his assertion that [i]f you were not alert to the parallel themes, you perhaps would think they were quite different stories, but they re not. (Campbell 14). Campbell has studied so many myths that he was able to find the universal lessons that humans have learned. Another interpretation is that Campbell has made the generalization that all myths are essentially the same. I believe that while there may be overarching themes found throughout myths, there are still key differences that make each culture s mythology unique. Trying to group everything into a precise category or combining all myths into a single monomyth makes any other possibilities obsolete. For example, both my favorite TV show and book series retell well known fairy tales. Finding new meanings in a story that is otherwise cliché can be eye opening. I think myths and fairy tales alike reflect the variances between cultures and times, which fluctuate, but Campbell concluded that all myths tell the same story. This is yet another disparity between Campbell s views on myth and my own. Campbell s personal values didn t seem to emphasize independence and diversity as much as mine. In addition, I will explain how it works and how it differs than relational database technology. Furthermore, I will use the finding of the paper Performance Evaluation of a Clustered Memcached to present how Memcached can improve the performance of the web applications. The paper that I did study is about a simulation project of using three different architectures of Memcached. The simulation results will monitor the CPU and RAM usability of all the nodes in these three architectures. I will explain the results and will discuss the findings of their results. The relational database technology dominated the web applications for more than 30 years. This technology is able to handle limited load to the database. However, the internet technologies and the advents of the smart phones make the web applications to be accessible by many users and from any location that is covered by the internet connectivity. In addition, currently, the web data in the internet is dominated by the social networking and social media applications which include: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and others. This kind of web applications will likely be prone to the high load of the database layer. As a result, it was not possible for the relational database technology to handle the database load for such applications. I will first give a brief introduction of each time period and then explain the type of government or laws being used. Government is a very important factor to the prosperity of a settlement, and throughout this time period multiple different type of governments were put into effect. The most visual way that government changed throughout this time period is with the development of a more sizeable party to govern as well as the complexity of the system. However, many communities would allow an individual to take power over the land with a group of highly trusted nobles to guide him in the right direction. This shows how the Greeks would use diverse types of governments in the different settlements they gained control over. The Greeks would develop a new type of society called the Mycenaeans after they gained control over Thebes, Athens, and Mycenae. The Mycenaeans were a military based society that was ruled by local kings that followed the ruling of the king of Mycenae. The king and his warrior aristocracy were at the top of the political chain where they would enforce and create laws for the citizens of Mycenae. One of the most important political change for the Greeks would be the development of polis. Polis is defined as a city state where a community of citizens, with no king, would become self governing and develop their own laws. • 33. The Leader Of The People By John Steinbeck Isolated Generation In the short story The Leader of the People John Steinbeck writes about a young boy named Jody, who lives on an isolated ranch with his parents and a hired worker. Jody s parents are stern with him and give him orders to take care of the ranch, but Jody wants to explore the world and live like a normal child. After Jody finds out his grandfather is visiting, he is happy and wants to hear about the adventurous stories his grandfather tells about the Great Plains. When Grandfather s tales create a controversy, he tells Jody how the ocean is the end of discovery. In The Leader of the People Steinbeck uses the ranch, ocean, and Grandfather to symbolically develop the conflict between past and present. Steinbeck uses the ranch to symbolize isolation from the outside world. Since the ranch is secluded away from other human activity, the family rarely leaves the ridge top. Steinbeck gives characterization to the animals to demonstrate how isolated the ranch is; for example, the cat walks in the direction of the road, but gallop[s] back again (1) and does not try to leave. When Jody s father comes home, the dog look[s] up the hill toward the cleft in the ridge (2) and stares at the road. • 35. Hamlet Movie Adaptation Hamlet was written in 1609 by William Shakespeare; Shakespeare is one of the greatest poets and playwrights. Since the original performance of Hamlet, there have been many movie adaptations. Some of the many well known film directors for these movies are Kenneth Branagh, Franco Zeffirelli and Sir Laurence Olivier. From the above film directors, I will compare and contrast Zeffirelli s production of Hamlet to the original Shakespeare s play Hamlet. Zeffirelli s version of Hamlet is one of the sound versions of Hamlet. It was produced and starred Mel Gibson in the late 1900s. Comparing the film version of Hamlet to the play, Zeffirelli has made noticeable changes in the movie including some clothing choices and characters reactions. He also altered and cut lines from the original Shakespeare play. Shakespeare centralized the theme of revenge in the ghost scene in Act 1 Scene 5 with the use of literary devices. In the movie adaptation, Zeffirelli used a different approach to portray the theme, without the use of any literary devices. He instead used costume choices, characters reactions and different word choices. Zeffirelli used a creative way to portray Hamlet s father wearing a white shirt with black pants instead of Shakespeare s choice of armour. He used this to show how Hamlet s father would look in 90 s society. He made Hamlet wear black clothing throughout the movie to show that Hamlet was the only one who cared and grieved throughout his mother s marriage and until his own death. Zeffirelli changed the characters reactions throughout the scenes. One of the character changes is during Hamlet s father s ghost soliloquy. Instead of his father being projected as angry towards his wife and his brother in the movie, he uses a calm tone. In the movie while Hamlet was listening to his father, he should have looked angry and upset. Instead he had no emotions while listening to his father. In the movie, he should have an angry tone and should be eager to plot revenge on who killed his father, instead he did not talk throughout his father s death story. Zeffirelli chose this so that the audience will wait and anticipate when Hamlet s anger will grow and his reaction during the scene. With the removal and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Chemistry Cake Testing Lab Report Chemistry Baking Project Factorial Experiment 9/25/17 Nick Arana, Joey Hensel Arana, Hensel Chemistry G Objective: The purpose of this experiment is to further comprehend the chemistry of baking a cake through research and experimentation. Background: It may be surprising; however, the process of baking a cake involves a sufficient amount of chemistry. A physical property is a property that can be observed or measured without changing the composition of matter. For example, the color of the cake does not affect the volume, texture, or flavor of the cake; it only affects the appearance of it. Color is a physical property of the cake. On the other hand, a chemical property is a property or behavior of a substance when it undergoes a chemical change or reaction. For example, a chemical property of the cake would be that the cake can burn, spoil, or be digested. Everything added to the cake batter affects the texture of it. For example, without the flour, the cake batter would be close to a liquid, but by adding the flour it gives the cake more volume and it changes the texture. A chemical reaction/change is any change that results in the formation of new chemical substances. When the cake batter bakes and turns into cake, this is a chemical change. In a physical reaction/change, the molecules rearrange, but it does not affect their internal structures (no new substance is formed). When eggs are whipped, it is a physical change or ...
