Rousseau s Discourse On The Origin Of Inequality
Rousseau, in his Discourse on the Origin of Inequality of Men, discusses the beginning and
development of inequality of individuals. Rousseau seeks to discern whether the unequal
treatment of men is dictated by natural laws or if it is a man made creation. When Rousseau
analyzes humans in the state of nature, he claims we are all animalistic by nature. Humans in
the state of nature are motivated by self preservation much like animals and also pity. The
difference between man and animals according to Rousseau is man s perfectibility. Because man
has very minimal needs in the state of nature, no concept of morality and limited interaction with
other individuals, he is generally happy. Because in the state of nature man embodies the quality
of perfectibility, he is able to adapt with his environment. As nature drives men to leave certain
areas it forces them to learn new skills as they come in to contact with one another more often.
As man connects with more and more individuals around him he becomes aware that he has
more needs. As men begin to live in societies with more people they start comparing themselves
to those around them and self preservation and pity are no longer their main goals. Now, they
have to do more work in order to be happy such as raise to greater heights then their fellow
humans. Moral inequality is created as division of labor and propertyrights are invented. Owning
property allows the rich to take advantage of the poor, leading to unstable relations

The Three Characteristics Of The Heroic Code In Beowulf
Despite all the that has passed since it was written, Beowulf, is still studied and admired to this
day as one of the greatest pieces of literature. The epic is story of brave hero called Beowulf
whom fights three horrifying monsters, each different and more difficult than the last one. He
lives and dies by a code known as the heroic code, which what will be discussed in this essay. The
three main characteristics that, according to the heroic code, are expected to be displayed by a
warrior are: courage, strength, and loyalty. Each has its positive and negative aspects. Some of the
negative aspects being along the lines of prideand what it entails. Many of the Christian views of
the narrator debate the heroic code as being a bit pointless. As the narrator points out in the story
the heroic code, although it sounds ideal and very admirable, it is quite flawed nonetheless.
The first characteristic in the heroic code is courage. Although both courage and bravery are
indeed excellent characteristics to have, especially when in immediate danger, they appear to be
a bit debatable to the narrator. Courage is highly valued, especially when telling stories of your
heroism. Often, for undaunted courage, fate spares the man it has not yet marked (572 573).
However, because many pagan beliefs in Beowulf don t say much about the afterlife, courage and
boasting about your heroism tend to go hand in hand. The belief that stories of your courage would
result in people always

Preparing A Brownie Pie
The best part of any meal is at the end. A good dessert can hurt or make a meal. A good pie or a
hot brownie with vanilla ice cream could be an excellent ending to a nice meal. To make the end
of the meal really delicious why not combine to two into one. To end your meal in an amazing
way mix, bake, and devour a brownie pie. When baking a brownie pie having the right
ingredients is a must. Having a good pie crust is essential. Pillsbury pie crust will work and taste
the best. Leave the crust in the freezer until one hour before making the pie. While it is defrosting
start mixing the ingredients for the pie. The ingredients needed for the brownie pie are: 2 cups sugar

Alternative Energy For Renewable Energy Sources
Algae Biofuel
For many years the world has depended on one form of energy for transportation, and that is
fossil fuels. This means as our demand for these fossil fuels increases our supply will decrease
dramatically. As supply dwindles and costs rise, nations will be forced to utilize alternative energy
sources. Coal, both non renewable and environmentally destructive, is the most likely near term
candidate for replacing oil as a primary energy source. In order to achieve a secure and stable
energy supply that does not cause environmental damage, renewable energy sources must be
explored and promising technologies should be developed. Biodiesel derived from green algae
biomass has the potential for high volume, cost effective production. It can be carbon neutral and
produced intensively on relatively small areas of marginal land. The quality of the fuel product is
comparable to petroleum diesel and can be incorporated with minimal change into the existing fuel
infrastructure. Innovative techniques, including the use of industrial and domestic waste as
fertilizer, could be applied to further increase biodiesel productivity. There is now research going
into renewable resources to replace these harmful fossil fuels. One of the newest and most
innovative of these resources is algal biofuel. (Olds, 2006). Also known as algae biofuel, and
oilgae, the majority of algae are photosynthetic so water, carbon dioxide, light, and minerals are
necessary for growth (Olds, 2006).

Compare And Contrast John Stuart Mill And Karl Marx
In the conceptualization of the predominant 19th century political thought process, none if any
were more influential than John Stuart Mill and Karl Marx. Both were philosophers, sociologists,
economists and political thinkers, but each held unique views towards the ideal government, to
freedom, and to the impact of the industrial revolution. Each discussed some of the ramifications of
the industrial revolution, and the ways in which the government can be re aligned for greater social
prosperity. John Stuart Mill(1806 1873) advocated for Liberalism, a system in which libertyand
equality would remain at the forefront of all political proposals, and representative interests.
Mill celebrated individuality, and the ability to not conform to a higher power. In contrast to
Mill, Karl Marx (1818 1883) was a revolutionary socialist who advocated for a complete social
revolution throughout society, in an effort to counter the ill perceived effects of capitalism.
Marx s central tenet relied upon the fact that he sought to abolish private property, and
monopolies, so as to enable all individuals to acquire an equitable means of living. Marx s belief
was that capitalism forces the economy into constantly being exploited, which in turn leads to
recessions. Mill believed that all power should be allocated to the individual; whereas Marx
believed that bestowing such power within a socialist regime would allow for the creation of a
truly egalitarian society. This paper will analyze how

Sparring Research Paper
Sparring It is your first time putting on your gear, with excitement running through your body.
You go from sitting on the side lines watching, from finally getting to know what it is like to
spar. You line up according to rank, and you turn and bow to your instructor, and then your
fellow classmate who you will be sparring. You step back and giup, as everyone else does, and
your instructor calls start. As you walk forward and start, you notice it is not as easy as it seems.
As a white belt you also notice you cannot just simply jump in and get everything down at that
exact time, but you notice how you will have to practice this your entire lifetime of taekwondo.

Tournament sparring is much more competitive. It is where you finally put your training to the
test, and try your best to win or achieve your goal. There are different types to levels of sparring
as well, such as states, or national. Some sparring tournaments allow full contact where knock out
is allowed. In a standard sparring match, you versus opponents with the same rank and usually
people within the same age range. Judges stand in the four corners of the rings, and when
someone makes contact on another person without being blocked, it is a point. In a sparring
match, the opponents might clash which means both strike each other at the same time, and no
points are counted. All points usually count as one, but if someone throws a successful and
controlled kick to the head with slight touch, it is two points. Three rounds will usually occur and
whoever has the most points by the end of the rounds will win. From there, the winners from each
round will continue to spar until there is one final winner. The winners will either get some sort or
trophy or medal for the place they come in. When you walk away from a tournament, you will
always learn some sort of lesson. It might be about what to do better next time, or how you should

Aristotle Voluntary And Involuntary Act Summary
In Book III Chapter one of The Nicomachean Ethnics, Aristotle has his explanation of the meaning
of the voluntary act and involuntary act. He thinks the criterion for judging whether a man should
be held accountable for one of his actions was whether he had acted voluntarily. As the main idea of
book three moral virtue, Aristotle starts his discussion from point out the issue of moral
responsibility, which can be considered as a basis of moral virtue, because if a man cannot be
responsible for the action he did, then theoretically the discussion is superfluous. For example, the
person was carried by the wind; then his behavior does not have any moral significance. Therefore,
Aristotle wants to make a distinction between the voluntary actions and the involuntary actions, that
is, for the moral responsibility to draw a piece of their territory, as a basis to talk about other... Show

Rebecca Nurse Quotes
Let you fear nothing! Another judgement waits us all! This profound exclamation is made by
the immensely wise and reputable Rebecca Nurse. Rebecca is a well known elderly woman in
Salem, Massachusetts. Rebecca Nurse and I closely resemble one another in that we are both
exceptionally nurturing with children, devout in our beliefs, and humble towards our
accomplishments. Firstly, Rebecca Nurse and I are similar because of our nurturing capabilities
towards infants and children. In the play The Crucible, it is revealed that Rebecca is the mother
of eleven children who have blessed her with 26 grandchildren. The fact that Rebecca conceived
and gave birth to eleven healthy babies reveals that she is well suited for motherhood. The fact that
she raised all of these children up to be adults, and eventually parents, proves... Show more content

deepen her relationship and understanding of God. Similarly, I also value any time alone to talk

Pierre-Simon Laplace s Accomplishments
Pierre Simon Laplace was a French mathematician who lived during the most violent time of France
s history. He made extensive contributions to several fields of mathematics and science including
statistics, chemistry, and most importantly physics and astronomy. He often used calculus and
differential equations to assist in his discoveries. He became a very prominent member in the nation
of France during his lifetime, holding many high positions and having close relations with
Napoleon Bonaparte during his reign of France. After a lifetime of achievements, Laplace became
known as one of the greatest French mathematicians of all time, if not the greatest.

These are also called potential functions, specifically in the fields of physics and engineering. The
solution to equation has the property that the average value over a spherical surface is equal to the
value at the center of the sphere [5]. These spherical harmonics are used for mapping the sky and
can be used to accurately describe the behavior of gravitational potentials. The equation can also be
used in steady state calculations such as Markov chains [5]. As a supplement to his work in
astronomy, Laplace worked with a French chemist, Antoine Lavoisier, on the invention of the ice
calorimeter. Calorimetry is the science of measuring the changes in the energy of a system by
measuring the heat exchanged between the reaction inside the system and its surroundings.
Therefore, a calorimeter was used to measure the quantity of heat transferred to or from an object,
often with the use of a thermometer to measure the changes in temperature. Laplace and Lavoisier
applied these quantitative methods to a comparison of living and nonliving systems. Laplace was
also very interested in the micro interactions between atoms and subatomic particles, which he
applied to macro interactions such as those found between celestial bodies

Gorsuch is a perfect match. He usually sides with companies, provides little room for
condemned prisoners appealing against death sentences, and goes out of his way to protect

New England Church Case Study
Dear Elders of the Highland church of Christ,
I hope you are all well and thriving continuously in the Lord. As you may know, my wife and I
are planning to move to London, England this winter, Lord willing before the summer to work
with the Stratford church of Christ. We are excited and are grateful for all the encouragement and
prayers that have been lifted in His Name for this work and our success in fulfilling the Great
Commission. We also thank God for the Highland congregation in your example of servitude and
love for Christ and lost souls.
The Stratford church of Christ was first founded in October 2002 after years of the East end of
London being without a congregation. These passionate, faithful saints grew in number and today

We desire this so that we may together model ourselves after Jesus and His Kingdom.
Secondly, we want to help grow and nurture Stratford to be an encouragement and blessing to not
just congregations in London but also to congregations throughout England, the United Kingdom,
and abroad.
Thirdly, we plan to engage in the outreach of this populated and diverse section of London through
one on one and group discussions and studies of Christ and His Word, developing a strong
presence, relationship, and service in the community, and by showing the city of London the beacon
of light the Stratford congregation is and can continue to be.
The Stratford congregation is a congregation of passionate Christians who have a desire to fulfill
the work of the kingdom, and they desire for us to labor with them in a full time capacity. A
work of this magnitude in a city ranked in the top 30 most populated cities in the World would
require for someone to help them on a full time basis. In order for my wife and I to move to
London and begin this work full time, we need to raise living expenses for this commitment of
about $1800 US dollars per month. The Stratford congregation is going to be able to support us
with ВЈ500 a week, which is roughly $633 USD. Their generous help will allow us to pay rent,
utilities, and transportation. The eventual goal of the congregation financially is to be completely
self supporting in the future. Until that time, we will need stateside help financially with living

Introduction
A typical scenario in a manufacturing company in Singapore is one in which all the strategic
decisions, including forecasting of future demand, are provided by an overseas office. The
forecast model provided by the overseas office is often inaccurate because the forecasting is

Bayesian dynamics time series and forecasting techniques can be used to solve inventory problems
because Bayesian inference statistics has the analogue idea that posterior knowledge (actual
sales demand) can be derived from prior knowledge (such as the manager s experience) and the
likelihood (the similar or expected trend) of the product demand (Box and Tioa, 1973; Jeffreys,
1961; Lee, 1988; Press, 1989). In many real life forecasting problems (for example when previous
demand data are not available for newly launched products), there is little or no useful information

available at the time when the initial forecast is required. Hence, the early forecast must be based
largely on subjective considerations (such as the manager s experience and the general demand of a
similar or comparable product). As the latest information (actual sales demand) becomes available,
the forecasting model is modified with the subjective estimation in the presence of the actual data.

all societies in countries around the world, either consumed moderately or in excess. University is

According to a study conducted by the Harvard School of Public Health, athletes reported more
binge drinking, heavier alcohol use, and a greater number of drinking related harms. Along with
these findings, researchers also found that despite athletes drinking heavier than non athletes,
student athletes displayed greater efforts in alcohol prevention and possessed unique motivations to
curb their alcohol consumption. As mentioned before, student athletes are consistently shown to be
an at risk population among university students. In a journal titled Protective behavioural strategies
and their relationship with negative alcohol consequences among college athletes , student athletes
participate in greater alcohol consumption as well as experience more negative consequences of
alcohol abuse. Within college populations, protective behavioural strategies have been shown to
reduce the impact of alcohol related negative consequences, however not much is known about
protective behavioural strategies among the at risk sub population of student athletes. According to
this study, protective behavioural strategies did little to increase the distance from alcohol
consumption and negative consequences. In conclusion, athletes display greater tendencies to

Supplements are intended to help out an athlete in areas where there may exist a deficiency. This
could be a lack of protein, creatine or even testosterone. And because of this any substance taken to
correct a deficiency could be considered a supplement to the athlete s diet even the multi vitamin he
takes with breakfast.
Sport supplementation has become a multi billion dollar industry that has seen its biggest growth
in the last five years and shows no signs of slowing down. It used to be difficult for someone to get
supplements, but now you can find things like Ephridirne, which has been banned by the NCAA, in

The main goal of the supplement industry is to produce legal alternatives to steroids. Sport
supplements come in all shapes, sizes, flavors and forms. And in the United States, the only
guidelines that need to be followed are those within the Hatch Act. According to the Hatch Act, in
order for any supplement to be legal it only needs to be found in a compound that exists in nature.
So what you end up with are legal and illegal supplements, but within the legal supplements you
have many categories.
It has to be said that neither supplements nor steroids can make an athlete great by themselves. Any

The Legalization Of Hard Drugs

A Case for the Legalization of Hard Drugs in the U.S.
The issue of drug abuse is a sad reality in every community, and drug prohibition is present
across the globe. Whether it is under the guise of protection of family values, or public safety,
prohibition disrupts more than it maintains. Many people view drugs as a problem but they can
also be viewed as a problem solver. This essay will address the socioeconomic issues with
prohibition of hard drugs, and argue for their legalization.
Prohibition crowds prisons with non violent criminals, exposing otherwise innocent civilians to the
dangers of prison life, and the mental and physical damage it does to not only their own
livelihoods, but to their families as well. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, in 2011, out
of 197,050 inmates in federal prisons, 94,600 were incarcerated for drug related charges, while
only 14,900 for violent offenses. That equates to 48% of the entire federal prison population
being incarcerated for drugs, with violent offenders only adding to 7.56%. The FBI states that of
all drug arrests in 2011, 81.8% were for simple possession, the remaining 18.2% for sale and
distribution. Therefore, there are over 77,000 federal inmates that were non violent civilians, whose
only crime was carrying an illicit substance. With legalization (or at least decriminalization), neither
the risk of incarceration nor the risk in becoming involved with illegal, and often

Essay on Servant Leader

Greenleaf s The Servant Leader
The Servant Leader discusses the importance of leaders who adopt a service oriented attitude in
which they care for the needs of others before their own. A servant leader need not be an actual
servant or have ever been a servant to become a servant leader. Rather, a servant leader is born
with or adopts an others first disposition. Climbing through the ranks may help to create a servant
leader, though it is not necessary. When leaders choose to see that the needs of their followers or
their organizations are the highest priority they become servants. The importance of servant
leadership should not be underestimated and it can be simplified and embodied in one timeless
phrase: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a way, the servant leader reads his or her audience and adjusts accordingly.
Under the heading Know the Unknowable В– Beyond Conscious Rationality is a discussion of
creativity. Leadership . . . imposes some intellectual demands that are not measured by academic
intelligence ratings (14). The success of a leader is not determined solely on their intellect.
While education certainly contributes, it is not a guarantee. What leaders need to know goes
beyond what can be taught in a classroom or read in a book. The servant leader relies on
intuition creativity. One of my favorite quotations appears in this section: Others will depend on
him to go out ahead and show the way because his judgment will be better than most. Leaders,
therefore, must be more creative than most; and creativity is largely discovery, push into the
uncharted and the unknown. Every once in a while a leader finds himself needing to think like a
scientist, an artist, or a poet (15). Ultimately, I find that Greenleaf would say that a combination
of intellect and instinct make the best leaders. This quotation also suggests that a leader must be
versatile rather than an expert in one or two areas. He or she should be able to step into the shoes
of others and find new perspectives. Greenleaf s discussion of Awareness and Perception offers
some especially important life

History Of Accounting Essays
Once upon a time, Luca Pacioli wrote a math book. It was just a little survey and should have been
treated like ordinary books of the time and read and then disappeared into historical archives and

The time was 1494. Columbus had discovered America just two years before. The author was a

The chapter on practical mathematics addressed mathematics in business. He said that the

their life together anymore. Kathy, who still thinks about why Nick left her often wonders how

Kathy ponders, My husband got to miss all this, that s what I kept thinking that he didn t have to
be around for any of this, and I was stuck at the El Rancho motel in San Bruno (Dubus, 34).
These thoughts evidently display that Kathy has still not moven away from her past, as the first
person she thinks about right after being evicted is her ex husband. Nonetheless, when she
meets Lester Burdon, she instantly feels an attraction towards him and feels that life has finally
changed. However, their affair is short lived, as Kathy feels that Lester does not want to fully
divorce his wife, and so she tries to let go of him for his own good. In one particular incident,
Kathy is reminded of Lester by the gun he mistakenly left in the car; In one fluid motion, I put

it is a significant reminder for her to stop running to him and take a step back. Although she is
trying to forget about him, it does not last for long as many things remind Kathy of Lester.
Throughout the novel Kathy is desolate and pensive, but not in a positive way. She tries to run

The Collapse Of The Space Shuttle Before Columbia
In the year of 2003, on February 1, a tragic accident had occurred in the atmosphere above Texas
as the space shuttle called Columbia was on it s way to land at the Kennedy Space Center. The
shuttle itself was on its 28th mission and was just one of the five space shuttles that was used
amongst NASA. But on this particular day, it wasn t like the rest because astronauts are supposed
to return home safely; that s not what happened on this day. There were seven astronauts that were
inside the shuttle. Their names were Rick Husband, David Brown, Michael Anderson, Laurel Clark,
William McCool, Kalpana Chawla, and Ilan Ramon. They had all died in an explosion within the
shuttle itself.
NASA was trying to figure out how this could ve happened. They ran through many possibilities
of what could ve gone wrong and they came to the conclusion that the reason the shuttle had
exploded when coming through the atmosphere was because a chunk of foam hilt a wing of the
craft. This was suspected to be the reason when tape was analyzed of the takeoff before
Columbia went into space. NASA wanted to know if it was the real reason but didn t want
anyone else to know of the issues besides them. The Department of Defense had asked
permission from the people working for NASA to use orbital spy cameras to analyze the problem.
But NASA had said no to their offer and went on to analyze and check the disaster for themselves
so that they knew what the problem was. They call this a common check .

Theme Of Nature In The Snows Of Hemingway
Hemingway loved nature and his stories transmit this love. They also reflect his belief that a man
is just an animal among animals. This trait is present in The Snows of Kilimanjaro and Big Two
Hearted River two of Hemingway s stories. Both take place in a land where the civilized men have
not destroyed its virginity and purity. But regardless of the purity of nature, death cannot be
escaped. Death is a natural phenomenon and it accompanies all the living. In his stories,
Hemingway s joins life with death, clarity with darkness, and creation with destruction. In both
stories the characters happen to be in a situation which uncovers their true nature, a nature which
seeks mental and physical wild freedom. The characters are escaping from death, but death is their
shadow.

The Modern Companies Working Environment Around The Globe...
Analyzing the composition of the modern companies working environment around the globe, it
can be concluded that the workforce is quite diverse. This diversity of the company s employees
may be determined by gender, race, age, religion, or physical characteristics. The importance of
the organization development is about understanding of how these characteristics of from the
organizational behavior. While many companies are willing to make a variety of work
environments, others find it difficult in terms of effective human resources management.
Generational diversity has become an essential element of many diversity strategies. Companies
are now managing a broader range of employees work needs and experiences as well as career
development choices. For example, while younger generations are climbing the corporate ladder
and entering the workforce expecting fast paced, highly inclusive workplaces that offer
customizable careers, retirement eligible employees are delaying their retirement plans. By the
same token, professional development resources that were once relegated to entry level and new
employees have become a necessity for workers at all levels. This broadening of employees needs
coupled with the increased responsiveness on the part of many organizations, benefits gender
diversity by helping change the norms and expectations about the way employees work, increasing
awareness about workplace trends in different cultural and national contexts, and promoting more

strengthening the body, developing coordination, and promoting physical fitness, but is that all
that the player gains? First of all, it is well accepted that exercise is good for our bodies and

decreases the risk of stroke, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Does that mean we get much
benefit of going to the gym five days a week as we would by joining a team and competing? Here
is where it gets interesting; studies show that if you find a sport and a team you like you will

International Economics, Cause Trade Restrictions
1.Introduction to Trade Policy.
When trading in an international market, a company must understand the ways, countries can
interfere with trade. These trade barriers, according to Kishore Kulkarni s book on International
Economics, cause trade to diverge from the comparative advantage pattern (pg.266). David Ricardo
s comparative advantage is an economic law that demonstrates the ways in which protectionism is
unnecessary in free trade (pg.145). This section will provide an in depth look at the trade restriction
known as a tariff.
Tariffs are a part of life for anyone attempting to trade internationally. This raises a question; why do
countries restrict trade in the first place? There are three legitimate reasons why tariffs might be
used. The first has to do with protecting a new industry; this is known as an infant industry.
According to Richard T. Froyen s book on Macroeconomics Theories and Policies, an infant industry
is one that is too underdeveloped to achieve comparative advantage or perhaps even to survive in
the global environment (pg.350). Such an industry may be small and undercapitalized to survive
without government intervention. This political intervention would be achieved through tariffs,
quotas, or subsidies. The next argument against free trade is known as the national defense
argument. In short, this argument would be applicable during a crisis; attempting to protect
important domestic industries, ensuring their products is well established.

Snowboarding jackets are an essential piece of gear that should keep the rider warm, comfortable
and protected from the harsh cold when riding on the slopes. The jackets are designed with many
features and take into account different atmosphere conditions, along with the requirements of the
sport itself. When purchasing a jacketthe rider needs to look at the two types of jackets, the Three
Layer System, the features of the jacket, and a few different technological fabrics. All of these
aspects are important when searching for the perfect snowboarding jacket. The first step in

There are three functions for this layer, which include waterproof, windproof, and breathability.
To be considered waterproof, a piece of clothing has to bear a water column of 4 to 5 ft (1).
Snowboarding jackets must also have taped seams, prevent water penetration, and covered
zippers. The next function in the system is windproof. The windproof of a jacket is very
important. Not only can the lack of this make the rider uncomfortable, but it can also affect the
breathability quality of the outer layer. The breathability quality allows riders to ventilate their
body through the fabric on the jacket and pushes perspiration away. While the Three Layer
System is important and needed in every jacket, so are the features that a snowboarding jacket
can acquire. Features in snowboarding jackets can be a very handy necessity with some
snowboarders, but may not be to others depending on skill level. Some of these features include;
powder skirts, wrist gaiters, venting zips, hoods, shells, pockets, and taped seams. Of all
features, the powder skirt is the most useful. This feature prevents snow from coming up into the
jacket if a wipeout occurs. Similar to the powder skirt are wrist gaiters, which prevent snow from
going up the sleeves or into the rider s gloves. Venting zips located under the armpit are definitely
a necessity in a snowboarding jacket for those warmer days on the slopes. The vents are constructed

The Concept Of Capacity And Capacity Utilization
1.2 The concept of capacity and capacity utilization
Capacity is very important but least understood concept in manufacturing and business world
(Klammer,1996). Different categories of people in business and manufacturing measure capacity
differently. For example, some financial managers might measure plant capacity in terms of the
equipment installed in the plant while operational supervisors might measure capacity in terms of
worker efficiency. Klein Summers ,(1996) defined an organization s productive capacity as the total
level of output or production that it could produce in a given time period . Capacity utilization is the
percentage of the firm s total possible production capacity that is being used. Therefore, an
organization should be most efficient if it is running at 100% capacity utilization. An organization s
full capacity is the minimum point on total cost function, a full input point on the aggregate
production function and a bottleneck point in a general equilibrium system. Full capacity should be
defined as a realizable level of output that can be attained under normal input conditions without

econometric models in estimation of the relative significance of the determinants in investment,

A Bombshell Climate Study
First of all, There is strong evidence that global sea level is getting higher and will continue to rise
during this century. There are some human activities, such as burning of fossil fuels and cutting
down tropical forests, have gained atmospheric absorption of heat trapping gases releases enormous
amounts into the air. It means that the Earths surface temperature increases, and the oceans absorb
that additional heat. There is no doubt that when the ocean is warmer, large ice formations, like

The National Football League ( Nfl )
The National Football League(NFL) is running one of its own games on the public, and as one the

American taxpayer. It should be of no surprise that with its religious like following, the NFL
receives the same taxexempt status as a church, exempted under the IRS 501 (c)(6) code from
paying federal taxes. The legislation puts the NFL as a non profit trade association which it has
been under since 1942. This statement intends me to ask what Steve Almond asked in his book

Corporal Punishment And Its Usage
Introduction The topic of whether or not parents and teachers should use corporal punishment in
the name of discipline had caught my eye for several reasons. One of the most important reasons
is that I was beaten by a wooden paddle while I was growing up. I was about 12 years of age
when my teacher beats all of my classmates including me just because one of us was misbehaving.
That was in Baghdad, Iraq, where teachers and parents are allowed to use corporal punishment
freely without any fear. Another reason is that I was born in a Catholic well educated family
that showed me what love and respect actually is. Hence, my parents didn t accept what that
teacher did and went to tell on her. They thought that a teacher should never do any kind of
physical harm to their children, even if they used to do so. Therefore, I chose this topic to read
more about corporal punishment and its usage in the United States. The key terms that are
important in this paper are defined to give a full understanding of the issue. The term corporal
punishment is defined as the act of disciplining a child through physical means ( Corporal
Punishment , 2006, p.1). However, there is a legal definition that most states use, which says,
Parents are allowed to use reasonable force in physically disciplining their children ( Corporal
Punishment , 2006, p.3). Later on, I will also talk about the effective ways of disciplining a child
that is nonphysical methods. One of them is timeouts which is

The Salience Of Attitude Importance In Cognitive Dissonance

favorite, I did not think I would get caught! You re not the only person to experience this. These
are classic reasons that people tell themselves or others whenever they made an action that did not
coincide with their moral compass. One does this in order to achieve balance or consistency
between one s logic and behavior. Another crucial component to the cognitive dissonancetheory is
how it affects one s attitude after making a decision. The decision could be of any... Show more

Importance Of Democracy In Wilhelmine Germany
To what extent was Wilhelmine Germany practicing democracy ?
Two important cornerstones of a democracy are the ability for the people to elect representatives,
and the willingness/power of these representative to make decisions in favour of their electorates.
Although there is no general consensus on parliamentization in Wilhelmine Germany, many
historians agree that Germans had a significant amount of experience with Democracy during this
era. This paper examines the political culture of Wilhelmine Germany and the parliamentisation of
the Reichstag in this period to assess the extent to which imperial Germany was practicing
democracy . Perhaps the strongest argument in favour of democratic tendencies in imperial
Germany is the remarkably high voting participation of the period. When Bismarck granted
suffrage to all men over the age of 25 for the direct election of an imperial Reichstag, he intended to
mobilize the German people without causing any real change. However, throughout the whole of
Europe, public education, military conscription, and growth of the popular press was changing the
relationship people had with the state. Consequently, there was a sharp increase electoral
participation in the years following the introduction manhood suffrage. Among eligible voters,
voting rose from 52% in 1871 to 85% in 1912. Voters not only turned out in high percentages, but
were habitual and consistent in the Reichstag elections that took place every three years. Sheri
Berman argues that elections must have been seen as meaningful, otherwise the German people
would not have bothered to turn out in such high numbers.
In addition to high participation rates, a high percentage of the population was represented in
elections relative to other great powers in this period. Whereas all men eligible to vote were
automatically registered in Germany, one third of the male population in Britain was precluded
from voting. In the United States, the need for voluntary registration in addition to discrimination
against African Americans led to only half of males of voting age participating in elections. Still,
critics of this outlook point to voting attitudes in addition to political intimidation and manipulation
during

Richard Hauptmann Research Paper
More than 4 percent of inmates sentenced to death in the United States are probably innocent
(McLaughlin). This means 96 percent of people on death row are guilty and Richard Hauptmann s
one of those 96 percent (Huffington 1). Richard Hauptmann was convicted in the 1932 kidnapping
and murder of the 20 month old son of Charles Lindbergh. There was known to be up to 13 ransom
notes left by Hauptmann that were identified as his handwriting. Each of them was asking for
money until one told the family where the baby was located. In the 1930 s controversial court case

its machine planing through mills to conclude that it had been processed in South Carolina, sold to
a Bronx lumber company, and purchased by Hauptmann in December 1931. But one ladder rail was

A Short Note On Da And Its Attack On America On September...
Introduction
This memo will contain information concerning Al Qai da and its attack on America on
September 11, 2001. This act of terrorism, as it is related to President Bush s speech on September
20, 2001, will show the accuracy of statements made by the President and any inaccuracies will be
addressed in the memo.
Background
Al Qai da began in the 1980 s due to the war between the Russians and Afghanistan. Al Qaeda The
Base was developed by Usama Bin Laden and others in the early 1980 s to support the war effort
in Afghanistan against the Soviets. (FBI.gov). Bin Laden created the group based on Syyid Qutb s
teachings that Jihad should be waged in order for the Quran to be what is followed in society. It
should be noted that after victory in Afghanistan the fighters that were in The Base began going to
countries in the Middle East spreading the jihad mantra around. With this happening rising
opposition began against the U.S. and other non Islamic governments. It is also prevalent to
remember the 1988 bombings of our embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in which Bin Laden
perpetrated.
The precepts in Al Qai da are attributed to; dislike of non Islamic countries, Jihad and dying in the
name of Jihad.
Al Qai da as mentioned earlier had began waging war against the United States long before this
month such as on October 12, 2000, a small boat loaded with explosives plowed into the hull of
the U.S.S. Cole, an American naval destroyer docked off the coast of Yemen. 17

Our Iceberg Is Melting, By John Kotter
Once upon a time a colony of penguins was living in the frozen Antarctic on an iceberg near
what we call today Cape Washington. From the first sentence of John Kotter s bestselling book,
Our Iceberg Is Melting, it is difficult to tell that one is about to read a great fable about how to
manage change in business as well as everyday life. ! The following summary will explain the key
moments of the fable and how they relate to our lives. First, let s introduce some of the more
important penguins the Leadership Council members. Louis, the head of the Leadership Council,
could perhaps be considered the CEO of the penguincolony. Alice is a smart, aggressive member of
the council, and is Fred s loyal confidant. Buddy is a young penguin council member who may not
be the brightest bulb in the box, but brings an element of trust among the council members. Fred is
the most curious of all of the penguins; although he was an unknown penguin in the beginning, he
ultimately plays a very important role in the change process. Jordan, also known as the Professor,
was the brains of the council; he could perhaps be considered the researcher of the group. Although
the penguins start out simply as individuals, in the end, they are a well working team capable of
effectively managing change. Fred, a quite curious penguin, studies the wonderful iceberg that the
penguins consider home. He comes across a problem which suggests that their beloved iceberg
may be in danger of

Ellen Degeneres Heritage And Clayman
B) Examine how organisation of talk (Heritage Clayman) influence authenticity. Ellen DeGeneres
was the 2012 recipient of the Mark Twain prize which recognises individuals who have made
significant contributions to American humour. The authenticity of DeGeneres speech is explored
by looking at only the extent to which the party orients to the overall structural organisation,
(Dimensions of Institutional Talk in Heritage Clayman, 2010, pp. 43). DeGeneres speech follows
the general conventions of an acceptance speech: showing appreciation for her recognition and the
people who have given her their support; stating how honoured she is and mentioning award by
name; sharing thoughts about being awarded; saying something inspiration, which in DeGeneres
case, was recounting how her trials and tribulations have made her the person she is today.
However, she manages to personalise her speech with her usual stream of consciousness style of
delivery, bold references to her sexuality and quips that challenges the audience s expectations,
thereby rendering her authentic.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her sentences are punctuated by ah , uh and um , together with quick turns of thoughts. Transitions
are often abrupt, such as the lines: (Money was) really all I wanted. This ah to everyone who flew
out, first of all, to be here, uh uh I thank you. While these elements approximate spontaneous
conversation and make her speech seem unplanned and personal in contrast to the usual concise, or
otherwise stylised structuring of acceptance speeches that sound contrived, simulated or performed
(Montgomery, pp. 402), it can also be argued that the tendencies identified are merely an attempt at
synthetic personalisation (Fairclough cited in Montgomery, 2010, pp. 403) to index

The Development Of Children s Education
5 7 years:
This age group of children will have to go through a transition from nursery to school; reception
year, (where practitioners still follow EYFS) and then children move on to key stage one, (where
teachers follow the National Curriculum Key Stage 1). Children s education is still based on play,
however now children have a lot more of adult led activities in which they learn to concentrate for
longer periods of time. The environment in schools that surrounds children is more complex
because the children get to learn more, therefore some displays might contain bigger amount of
more complex mathematical language than we can find in a nursery setting. As children go into
key stage 1, it isn t the only environmental look that changes, the equipment is also more
complex and advanced because it is aimed for children that are now at a higher stage of
mathematical development. As I discussed earlier Early Years Foundation Stage changes and
becomes the National Curriculum Key Stage 1; the system changes a little bit and instead of
carpet time that children used to have in the nursery becomes a lesson . Some children in reception
might still work on their emergent mathematics. However, as they move up to Key Stage 1,
children begin to learn a lot more complex mathematics and it is not longer emergent because they
have passed this stage which should be fully achieved by now...
Children who did not go to the nursery might find it harder to learn in school and achieve their

Care Delivery and Therapeutic Interventions Essay
The student has identified a need for service improvement by seeing accidental needle stick injuries
in the community. To demonstrate and have an understanding of the process that is involved the
student will create a service improvement plan that will reduce the number of needle stick injuries.
The student service plan is to introduce a Needle removal (see Appendix 1).
To implement change in a heath care setting, a PDSA concept will be used. Langley developed
the PDSA cycle to describe the importance s that the change and the developing of these crucial
changes which will hopefully help lead to the improvements (Langley et al., 2009) (see appendix

In the planning stage it helps to lay out goals for what is intended to be improved. It will set out
what the needle cutters focus will be improvements for the service and safety. The planning
includes the contact with the suppliers of the needle cutters to make sure that the materials they use
will meet the goal of the community setting.
The Quality Improvement Program is reviewed and approved by the Medical Advisory Council
and the Board of Directors annually. The National Health Minister, Lord Darzi supports the
ideas of the changes to the NHS and he was also the lead in the review of the NHS in July 2007.
The report subsequently produced and outlined changes for the NHS in order for it to be fair,
personal, effective and safe for the public (BMJ, 2008)
The reviews were done locally by medical staff in each region of the UK, which had brought about
the development of the models of care in each region so that the NHS would be up to standard and
can meet the changing needs (Darzi,2008)
In order for the PDSA service Improvement to be applied there are a number of stages required
before it can be implemented. Langley states that at the planning stage the proposed service for
improvement will need to be thought out carefully (Wright, 2004)
Firstly a community nurse setting would be used to pilot the test to find out if these changes help
reduce needle stick injuries on a small scale. This will cause less disruption

Ankle injuries are on the most common injuries that most athletes have to deal with throughout
their playing career, some research has shown that an ankle sprain is seven times more like to
occur than other injuries. With this being said a lot of coaches require their athletes to either tape
or have a brace on the ankle to prevent the injury from occurring in the first place, however
evidence has shown that the use of an ankle brace does not always prevent the injury from
happening. So the question becomes does the brace impair the athlete to perform at their highest
level. In this study they took ten healthy D 3 male athletes, and ten female athletes. They used

Difference Between Traditional Students And Adult Learners
Title There are more adult learners attending college than there were two decades ago, and it is
expected to grow and double the rate compared to traditional students by 2021 (Woods Frogge,
2017). Adult learners have different needs and expectations from their education (O Toole Essex,
2012). It is important for higher educationinstitutions to understand the differences between
traditional students and adult learners learningstyles. Educators should include adult learning
theories in their curriculum to meet the needs of these students. (76 words)
Difference Between Traditional Students and Adult Learners: Adult learners have a higher
internal motivation to learn, and they find an internal reward value for learning (Woods Frogge,
2017). Adult learners want to achieve the learning objectives and to learn new skills, and
traditional students are more focused on the grade that is earned (Woods Frogge, 2017). Since
adult learners work full time and raise a family, they want a flexible schedule with their education
courses (Woods Frogge, 2017). Adult learners have a higher commitment to their studies compared
to traditional students (Woods Frogge, 2017). Adult learners have a real life work experience that
they want to relate to their education (Woods Frogge, 2017). Adult learners have better time
management skills compared to traditional students (Woods Frogge, 2017) and are more self
directed learners (Merriam Bierema, 2014). Adult learners want to know

  • 2. Rousseau s Discourse On The Origin Of Inequality Rousseau, in his Discourse on the Origin of Inequality of Men, discusses the beginning and development of inequality of individuals. Rousseau seeks to discern whether the unequal treatment of men is dictated by natural laws or if it is a man made creation. When Rousseau analyzes humans in the state of nature, he claims we are all animalistic by nature. Humans in the state of nature are motivated by self preservation much like animals and also pity. The difference between man and animals according to Rousseau is man s perfectibility. Because man has very minimal needs in the state of nature, no concept of morality and limited interaction with other individuals, he is generally happy. Because in the state of nature man embodies the quality of perfectibility, he is able to adapt with his environment. As nature drives men to leave certain areas it forces them to learn new skills as they come in to contact with one another more often. As man connects with more and more individuals around him he becomes aware that he has more needs. As men begin to live in societies with more people they start comparing themselves to those around them and self preservation and pity are no longer their main goals. Now, they have to do more work in order to be happy such as raise to greater heights then their fellow humans. Moral inequality is created as division of labor and propertyrights are invented. Owning property allows the rich to take advantage of the poor, leading to unstable relations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Three Characteristics Of The Heroic Code In Beowulf Despite all the that has passed since it was written, Beowulf, is still studied and admired to this day as one of the greatest pieces of literature. The epic is story of brave hero called Beowulf whom fights three horrifying monsters, each different and more difficult than the last one. He lives and dies by a code known as the heroic code, which what will be discussed in this essay. The three main characteristics that, according to the heroic code, are expected to be displayed by a warrior are: courage, strength, and loyalty. Each has its positive and negative aspects. Some of the negative aspects being along the lines of prideand what it entails. Many of the Christian views of the narrator debate the heroic code as being a bit pointless. As the narrator points out in the story the heroic code, although it sounds ideal and very admirable, it is quite flawed nonetheless. The first characteristic in the heroic code is courage. Although both courage and bravery are indeed excellent characteristics to have, especially when in immediate danger, they appear to be a bit debatable to the narrator. Courage is highly valued, especially when telling stories of your heroism. Often, for undaunted courage, fate spares the man it has not yet marked (572 573). However, because many pagan beliefs in Beowulf don t say much about the afterlife, courage and boasting about your heroism tend to go hand in hand. The belief that stories of your courage would result in people always ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Alternative Energy For Renewable Energy Sources Algae Biofuel For many years the world has depended on one form of energy for transportation, and that is fossil fuels. This means as our demand for these fossil fuels increases our supply will decrease dramatically. As supply dwindles and costs rise, nations will be forced to utilize alternative energy sources. Coal, both non renewable and environmentally destructive, is the most likely near term candidate for replacing oil as a primary energy source. In order to achieve a secure and stable energy supply that does not cause environmental damage, renewable energy sources must be explored and promising technologies should be developed. Biodiesel derived from green algae biomass has the potential for high volume, cost effective production. It can be carbon neutral and produced intensively on relatively small areas of marginal land. The quality of the fuel product is comparable to petroleum diesel and can be incorporated with minimal change into the existing fuel infrastructure. Innovative techniques, including the use of industrial and domestic waste as fertilizer, could be applied to further increase biodiesel productivity. There is now research going into renewable resources to replace these harmful fossil fuels. One of the newest and most innovative of these resources is algal biofuel. (Olds, 2006). Also known as algae biofuel, and oilgae, the majority of algae are photosynthetic so water, carbon dioxide, light, and minerals are necessary for growth (Olds, 2006). ... • 6. Compare And Contrast John Stuart Mill And Karl Marx In the conceptualization of the predominant 19th century political thought process, none if any were more influential than John Stuart Mill and Karl Marx. Both were philosophers, sociologists, economists and political thinkers, but each held unique views towards the ideal government, to freedom, and to the impact of the industrial revolution. Each discussed some of the ramifications of the industrial revolution, and the ways in which the government can be re aligned for greater social prosperity. John Stuart Mill(1806 1873) advocated for Liberalism, a system in which libertyand equality would remain at the forefront of all political proposals, and representative interests. Mill celebrated individuality, and the ability to not conform to a higher power. In contrast to Mill, Karl Marx (1818 1883) was a revolutionary socialist who advocated for a complete social revolution throughout society, in an effort to counter the ill perceived effects of capitalism. Marx s central tenet relied upon the fact that he sought to abolish private property, and monopolies, so as to enable all individuals to acquire an equitable means of living. Marx s belief was that capitalism forces the economy into constantly being exploited, which in turn leads to recessions. Mill believed that all power should be allocated to the individual; whereas Marx believed that bestowing such power within a socialist regime would allow for the creation of a truly egalitarian society. He thinks the criterion for judging whether a man should be held accountable for one of his actions was whether he had acted voluntarily. As the main idea of book three moral virtue, Aristotle starts his discussion from point out the issue of moral responsibility, which can be considered as a basis of moral virtue, because if a man cannot be responsible for the action he did, then theoretically the discussion is superfluous. For example, the person was carried by the wind; then his behavior does not have any moral significance. Therefore, Aristotle wants to make a distinction between the voluntary actions and the involuntary actions, that is, for the moral responsibility to draw a piece of their territory, as a basis to talk about other... However, C and D can clearly reflect the meaning of the mixed actions, that is, in a situation, we are willing to make the choice which is voluntarily, but if it is in a different situation, then it against our wills. In this case, A should be praise; B should be blamed because Aristotle thinks this is characteristic of wicked; C cannot get the praise, but because of the pressure, it can get away from the blame. Rebecca is a well known elderly woman in Salem, Massachusetts. Rebecca Nurse and I closely resemble one another in that we are both exceptionally nurturing with children, devout in our beliefs, and humble towards our accomplishments. Firstly, Rebecca Nurse and I are similar because of our nurturing capabilities towards infants and children. In the play The Crucible, it is revealed that Rebecca is the mother of eleven children who have blessed her with 26 grandchildren. The fact that Rebecca conceived and gave birth to eleven healthy babies reveals that she is well suited for motherhood. Similarly, I also value any time alone to talk to God, in addition to weekly church services and youth group. Throughout Salem, Rebecca s reputation is that she is a very religious woman. Similarly, I am seen as a very religious girl at Hempfield. Coming from a Catholic school, I entered Hempfield with the label of being a Catholic school girl . He became a very prominent member in the nation of France during his lifetime, holding many high positions and having close relations with Napoleon Bonaparte during his reign of France. These are also called potential functions, specifically in the fields of physics and engineering. The solution to equation has the property that the average value over a spherical surface is equal to the value at the center of the sphere [5]. These spherical harmonics are used for mapping the sky and can be used to accurately describe the behavior of gravitational potentials. The equation can also be used in steady state calculations such as Markov chains [5]. As a supplement to his work in astronomy, Laplace worked with a French chemist, Antoine Lavoisier, on the invention of the ice calorimeter. Calorimetry is the science of measuring the changes in the energy of a system by measuring the heat exchanged between the reaction inside the system and its surroundings. Therefore, a calorimeter was used to measure the quantity of heat transferred to or from an object, often with the use of a thermometer to measure the changes in temperature. Laplace and Lavoisier applied these quantitative methods to a comparison of living and nonliving systems. On many issues, dear to conservatives Mr. Gorsuch is a perfect match. He usually sides with companies, provides little room for condemned prisoners appealing against death sentences, and goes out of his way to protect institutions. It seems clear he is personally, at least pro life. We are excited and are grateful for all the encouragement and prayers that have been lifted in His Name for this work and our success in fulfilling the Great Commission. Secondly, we want to help grow and nurture Stratford to be an encouragement and blessing to not just congregations in London but also to congregations throughout England, the United Kingdom, and abroad. Thirdly, we plan to engage in the outreach of this populated and diverse section of London through one on one and group discussions and studies of Christ and His Word, developing a strong presence, relationship, and service in the community, and by showing the city of London the beacon of light the Stratford congregation is and can continue to be. The Stratford congregation is a congregation of passionate Christians who have a desire to fulfill the work of the kingdom, and they desire for us to labor with them in a full time capacity. A work of this magnitude in a city ranked in the top 30 most populated cities in the World would require for someone to help them on a full time basis. In order for my wife and I to move to London and begin this work full time, we need to raise living expenses for this commitment of about $1800 US dollars per month. The Stratford congregation is going to be able to support us with ВЈ500 a week, which is roughly $633 USD. Their generous help will allow us to pay rent, utilities, and transportation. The eventual goal of the congregation financially is to be completely self supporting in the future. Until that time, we will need stateside help financially with living ... The Legalization Of Hard Drugs Trevor Allphin ENC1101 David Visser A Case for the Legalization of Hard Drugs in the U.S. The issue of drug abuse is a sad reality in every community, and drug prohibition is present across the globe. Whether it is under the guise of protection of family values, or public safety, prohibition disrupts more than it maintains. Many people view drugs as a problem but they can also be viewed as a problem solver. This essay will address the socioeconomic issues with prohibition of hard drugs, and argue for their legalization. Prohibition crowds prisons with non violent criminals, exposing otherwise innocent civilians to the dangers of prison life, and the mental and physical damage it does to not only their own livelihoods, but to their families as well. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, in 2011, out of 197,050 inmates in federal prisons, 94,600 were incarcerated for drug related charges, while only 14,900 for violent offenses. That equates to 48% of the entire federal prison population being incarcerated for drugs, with violent offenders only adding to 7.56%. The FBI states that of all drug arrests in 2011, 81.8% were for simple possession, the remaining 18.2% for sale and distribution. A servant leader need not be an actual servant or have ever been a servant to become a servant leader. Rather, a servant leader is born with or adopts an others first disposition. Climbing through the ranks may help to create a servant leader, though it is not necessary. In a way, the servant leader reads his or her audience and adjusts accordingly. Under the heading Know the Unknowable В– Beyond Conscious Rationality is a discussion of creativity. Leadership . . . imposes some intellectual demands that are not measured by academic intelligence ratings (14). The success of a leader is not determined solely on their intellect. While education certainly contributes, it is not a guarantee. What leaders need to know goes beyond what can be taught in a classroom or read in a book. The servant leader relies on intuition creativity. One of my favorite quotations appears in this section: Others will depend on him to go out ahead and show the way because his judgment will be better than most. Leaders, therefore, must be more creative than most; and creativity is largely discovery, push into the uncharted and the unknown. Every once in a while a leader finds himself needing to think like a scientist, an artist, or a poet (15). Ultimately, I find that Greenleaf would say that a combination of intellect and instinct make the best leaders. • 32. International Economics, Cause Trade Restrictions 1.Introduction to Trade Policy. When trading in an international market, a company must understand the ways, countries can interfere with trade. These trade barriers, according to Kishore Kulkarni s book on International Economics, cause trade to diverge from the comparative advantage pattern (pg.266). David Ricardo s comparative advantage is an economic law that demonstrates the ways in which protectionism is unnecessary in free trade (pg.145). This section will provide an in depth look at the trade restriction known as a tariff. Tariffs are a part of life for anyone attempting to trade internationally. This raises a question; why do countries restrict trade in the first place? There are three legitimate reasons why tariffs might be used. The first has to do with protecting a new industry; this is known as an infant industry. According to Richard T. Froyen s book on Macroeconomics Theories and Policies, an infant industry is one that is too underdeveloped to achieve comparative advantage or perhaps even to survive in the global environment (pg.350). Such an industry may be small and undercapitalized to survive without government intervention. This political intervention would be achieved through tariffs, quotas, or subsidies. The next argument against free trade is known as the national defense argument. In short, this argument would be applicable during a crisis; attempting to protect important domestic industries, ensuring their products is well established. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The jackets are designed with many features and take into account different atmosphere conditions, along with the requirements of the sport itself. When purchasing a jacketthe rider needs to look at the two types of jackets, the Three Layer System, the features of the jacket, and a few different technological fabrics. All of these aspects are important when searching for the perfect snowboarding jacket. The first step in purchasing a snowboarding jacket is determining what kind. There are three functions for this layer, which include waterproof, windproof, and breathability. To be considered waterproof, a piece of clothing has to bear a water column of 4 to 5 ft (1). Snowboarding jackets must also have taped seams, prevent water penetration, and covered zippers. The next function in the system is windproof. The windproof of a jacket is very important. Not only can the lack of this make the rider uncomfortable, but it can also affect the breathability quality of the outer layer. The breathability quality allows riders to ventilate their body through the fabric on the jacket and pushes perspiration away. While the Three Layer System is important and needed in every jacket, so are the features that a snowboarding jacket can acquire. Features in snowboarding jackets can be a very handy necessity with some snowboarders, but may not be to others depending on skill level. Some of these features include; powder skirts, wrist gaiters, venting zips, hoods, shells, pockets, and taped seams. Of all features, the powder skirt is the most useful. This feature prevents snow from coming up into the jacket if a wipeout occurs. Similar to the powder skirt are wrist gaiters, which prevent snow from going up the sleeves or into the rider s gloves. Venting zips located under the armpit are definitely a necessity in a snowboarding jacket for those warmer days on the slopes. The vents are constructed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. The Concept Of Capacity And Capacity Utilization 1.2 The concept of capacity and capacity utilization Capacity is very important but least understood concept in manufacturing and business world (Klammer,1996). Different categories of people in business and manufacturing measure capacity differently. For example, some financial managers might measure plant capacity in terms of the equipment installed in the plant while operational supervisors might measure capacity in terms of worker efficiency. Klein Summers ,(1996) defined an organization s productive capacity as the total level of output or production that it could produce in a given time period . Capacity utilization is the percentage of the firm s total possible production capacity that is being used. Therefore, an organization should be most efficient if it is running at 100% capacity utilization. An organization s full capacity is the minimum point on total cost function, a full input point on the aggregate production function and a bottleneck point in a general equilibrium system. The legislation puts the NFL as a non profit trade association which it has been under since 1942. • 39. Corporal Punishment And Its Usage Introduction The topic of whether or not parents and teachers should use corporal punishment in the name of discipline had caught my eye for several reasons. One of the most important reasons is that I was beaten by a wooden paddle while I was growing up. I was about 12 years of age when my teacher beats all of my classmates including me just because one of us was misbehaving. That was in Baghdad, Iraq, where teachers and parents are allowed to use corporal punishment freely without any fear. Another reason is that I was born in a Catholic well educated family that showed me what love and respect actually is. Hence, my parents didn t accept what that teacher did and went to tell on her. They thought that a teacher should never do any kind of physical harm to their children, even if they used to do so. Therefore, I chose this topic to read more about corporal punishment and its usage in the United States. The key terms that are important in this paper are defined to give a full understanding of the issue. The term corporal punishment is defined as the act of disciplining a child through physical means ( Corporal Punishment , 2006, p.1). However, there is a legal definition that most states use, which says, Parents are allowed to use reasonable force in physically disciplining their children ( Corporal Punishment , 2006, p.3). Later on, I will also talk about the effective ways of disciplining a child that is nonphysical methods. One of them is timeouts which is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Importance Of Democracy In Wilhelmine Germany To what extent was Wilhelmine Germany practicing democracy ? Two important cornerstones of a democracy are the ability for the people to elect representatives, and the willingness/power of these representative to make decisions in favour of their electorates. Although there is no general consensus on parliamentization in Wilhelmine Germany, many historians agree that Germans had a significant amount of experience with Democracy during this era. This paper examines the political culture of Wilhelmine Germany and the parliamentisation of the Reichstag in this period to assess the extent to which imperial Germany was practicing democracy . Perhaps the strongest argument in favour of democratic tendencies in imperial Germany is the remarkably high voting participation of the period. When Bismarck granted suffrage to all men over the age of 25 for the direct election of an imperial Reichstag, he intended to mobilize the German people without causing any real change. However, throughout the whole of Europe, public education, military conscription, and growth of the popular press was changing the relationship people had with the state. Consequently, there was a sharp increase electoral participation in the years following the introduction manhood suffrage. Among eligible voters, voting rose from 52% in 1871 to 85% in 1912. Voters not only turned out in high percentages, but were habitual and consistent in the Reichstag elections that took place every three years. Sheri Berman argues that elections must have been seen as meaningful, otherwise the German people would not have bothered to turn out in such high numbers. In addition to high participation rates, a high percentage of the population was represented in elections relative to other great powers in this period. Whereas all men eligible to vote were automatically registered in Germany, one third of the male population in Britain was precluded from voting. In the United States, the need for voluntary registration in addition to discrimination against African Americans led to only half of males of voting age participating in elections. Still, critics of this outlook point to voting attitudes in addition to political intimidation and manipulation during ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

DeGeneres speech follows the general conventions of an acceptance speech: showing appreciation for her recognition and the people who have given her their support; stating how honoured she is and mentioning award by name; sharing thoughts about being awarded; saying something inspiration, which in DeGeneres case, was recounting how her trials and tribulations have made her the person she is today.
