You conducted research using product analysis, questionnaires, and interviews. Product analysis of magazines provided insights but lacked audience perspectives. Questionnaires received a good response when distributed online but have limitations without follow up. Interviews provided in-depth audience understanding but were limited in scope. Overall the mixed methods research captured both external influences and personal views to inform audience profiling.
2. Kerrang! The color scheme on the magazine
Is based on darker colors which
suggests the music is heavier and
alternative.
The font style and
color of the main
headline is large and
gold which links with
the title heroes. Also
the lightning bolts
either side of it may
be there to link the
heroes of rock with
the Greek heroes.
The actual title to
the magazine is
kerrang which is
the noise of a
guitar which
instantly shows the
buyer it’s a music
related magazine.
3. MOJO
The colour scheme
they have used is
black and white, this is
because the beetles
are old.
The magazine comes
with a free CD, this is
to help sell the
product giving them
something for “free”
convincing them its
worth it.
The top header is too
show the audience a
piece of what is
actually inside the
magazine.
4. NME
The headers say that
there is an exclusive
story inside which will
make the reader
curious and want to
know what this
exclusive news is.
They have used the large
image of the arctic monkeys
on the front of the page to
highlight the main article
also the image they have
used is eye-catching if you
are a fan of the band.
The magazine have used
the arctic monkeys
popularity again, they
have done this by
making the name of the
band in huge letters
spread across the page.
