– The majority of some products use the colour black to contrast from
there lighter colours.
– All of the CD products either have a picture or a symbol to show what
kind of band they are.

– The different colours that stick out.
– I’ll come up with a title and an image that describes my theme
perfectly.

The chart shows that band members are the most common topic that comes to
mind when a band is brought up.

For when I comes to my product I will incorporate some band members into some
designs for the other merchandise.

The chart shows that most people think distorted text and images are more suited for Techno pop
genre than the others.

I plan to add some distorted texts to really get the audiences interest in wanting to see my
product.

The chart tells us that the majority of people would want to see a logo for the design rather than
artwork or the band members.
• What this says about my audience:
when people want see or have merchandise they would commonly spot a logo as
a pose to band members and artwork.

I plan on making my design with a logo that calls back to a favourite kind of film gerne time
travel.

Some people could see other colour on some band designs but the one that
show up the most frequently is the colour black.

I plan to add some darker colours to my design with a mixture of light colours
to give it the feeling traversing time lines.

The main merchandise I was going to put my design on does consist of

• Observation:
From the look of it this person is very much on board with my project, there
were a few things he said that were different like linking the film and the
colour scheme.

A member of the audience is on board with idea but has put his own little spin
on it.

audience:
Because of the answers to questions 1, 2 and 5 they show that the person is a
fan of the techno pop and want to show his support even if the film genre and
the colour scheme is different.

• What do you think of the idea of a techno pop band about time travel?
• it sounds quite creative and actually sounds quite like a 90s sort of thing.
• What comes into your mind when you think of techno pop?
• as someone who doesn't look at many songs, I am quite familiar with techno pop
because I do really enjoy good up beat songs.
• If you could link a film or series to techno pop what would it be?
• I do remember watching the movies Trolls and hearing a wide range of
songs which I'm sure one of them were techno pop.
• If you could choose the colour scheme for a techno pop poster what
would you choose?
• this question dose depend on the band itself but when I think about techno
music, I think of a dark atmosphere with a mic of bright lights of colours
(sort of how DJ's play music in dark rooms).
• Of all the band merchandise which one is your favourite and why.
• I think posters and t-shirts are a really good type of merchandise because if
you wear the band's t-shirts then your showing your liking to the band and
that goes the same with the posters.

Despite not being familiar with the genre of music he has given a clear and
detailed description of what the project could turn out to be.
• What this says about my audience:
Even though they know little about the genre of music they can still visualise the
finished product.

• The ways my product appeals to the audience are by the colour scheme and
the merchandise, one of their answers they talk about the dark atmosphere
witch matches my colour scheme I am going with. Also me and the audience
member also have the same merchandise ideas from T-shirts to posters.

balanced between on male and female of the fondness

• When I was researching I found out that there were
songs made in techno to be dark and gloomy when it
came to some night clubs.
• After a while of searching I mange to find some songs
that were more upbeat and happy songs that were
made to bring people together.

• When it comes to a majority of people attending a bands or
concerts it was mostly the middle class to them it was more a
leisurely past time.
• But there have been other times where some high class would
carter for band members or the concert if for being fans or for
various charities.

– Product Research
For the product research I used the internet to look up certain example I could use
for my research from images to the name of bands.
Positive – Thanks to the research, the various images and names of bands and
styles have given me a clear picture of what my product could turn out to be.
Negative – I couldn’t find anything specific regarding a band name that was all
about time travel.
– Questionnaires
Positive – Thanks to all of the response I received from the survey I could make
my product will thinking about what the audience wants to see.
Negative – Some of the results that I collected weren’t the ones I was hoping to
receive.
– Interviews
Positive – Thanks to the answers from the interview it gave me confidents that
the idea of a techno pop band about time travel can work.
Negative – There were some Reponses that had different takes on the ideas of the
band from music style and gerne.
26. Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get?
• The Reponses I got from the survey have been a mix of
50/50 of expecting what the answers would be and what
they wouldn’t be, from the merchandise to the design.
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
• I distribute the survey from a website called survey monkey
and I managed to get more than ten response for my survey.
Advantage – Thanks to the many response I received from the
survey I can now take all their thoughts into consideration before
and making my project.
Disadvantage – some the Reponses I got back had some
different outcomes than what I was hoping for but I could find a
way to some of those elements in.
