2. TARGET AUDIENCE
ā¢ The target audience for our media product consist of adults aged approximately
between 18-28 years old, British and most likely male.
ā¢ A more particular audience would be males interested in boxing and a wider
audience would be anyone interested in films with a sport genre.
ā¢ In our media product we used mise-en-sene with the gym setting in one of the
scenes to fit the sport genre and the boxing characters were wearing sport clothes
and boxing clothes to fit the boxing theme.
ā¢ We chose the sport drama genre as we wanted to create a story line based on
boxing. Films such as āSouthpawā and āCreedā have the same genre and theme of
boxing.
3. PRE-PRODUCTION RESEARCH
Questionnaire
ā¢ We made questionnaires and distributed them to people we thought fit into
our target audience. The questionnaire allowed us to gain information on what
our target audience thought of the storyline and what they would expect from
a film with a sport drama genre.
ā¢ The questionnaires helped us to gain ideas on the location of the film, music we
could use and any changes we could make to the storyline.
ā¢ The most important question would be āWould you watch this movie?ā because
if our target audience wouldnāt watch our film it would make the film
unsuccessful.
ā¢ Overall, the questionnaire allowed us to adapt our film to fit our target
audience and make any changes if needed. It also gave us an idea of what our
target audience would want to see in a sport drama film.
