• Definition
• The Hypodermic needle theory is a linear communication theory that
suggests that media messages are injected directly into the brains of
passive audiences. In this theory the media is seen as powerful and able to
‘inject’ ideas into an audience who are seen as weak and passive and
could be influenced by a message
• Example
• An example of this would be the Go Compare advert, which started of as
this very annoying advert. The company cleverly played on this annoyance
and used it as away to market their service.

• I find information by following the BBC news twitter
page.
• To seek advice or help with anything I go to a sub
reddit in witch people are talking about a similar
situation in with I'm stuck in.
• If I am a curious about something I go straight to
google and search the thing I'm curious about.
• If I am struggling with something I go to YouTube to
learn what I am stuck of and learn through videos.
7. Uses and Gratifications Personal
Identity
• To reinforce my personal values I follow groups on social
media such a facebook and reddit so we can all share our
opinions.
• I watch soaps to learn how to get out of certain
situations such as violent scenarios.
• Im inspired by Jadon Sancho due to him being 19 and
playing for one of the best teams in the world and
becoming not just a football player but a personal brand I
follow him on all of his social media platforms such as
Instagram, snapchat, twitter.

Social Interaction
• I identify with people through Instagram and seeing that we are actually
similar people maybe though the thing we both like or the clothes we
wear.
• it is easy to feel like you belong to something because you can be part of a
fan base witch everyone in there likes and are interested in the same
things as u
• Social media often comes into conversations and people can join in
because its something's everyone can relate.
• In this day of age, people can have to meet each other to become close
and create a strong bond this is due to social media and its easier to just
snapchap then or a simple text of Facebook.

• People use gaming as a type of escapism due to the fact its
like a fantasy world and you can do anything.
• Music is a great way of relaxation because you can just zone
out and listen to the singers story's and experiences.
• A lot of people go to YouTube for enjoyment because they can
see your favourite YouTuber doing crazy stuff and you can for
the length of the video think that your in the video with them.
