Concluding the radio trailer questionnaire results:
Forty percent of the participants were
eighteen years of age, thirty percent were 19,
twenty percent were twenty plus and the last
ten percent were seventeen years old.
All of the respondents said that the radio
trailer sounded as if it was a real life product,
and this was because of the following
reasons:
12. The date/channel and time of the
documentary was mentioned by the
off- screen presenter and all radio
trailers incorporate this vital element
so that if the listener is interested by
the trailer, they know when and
where to view the documentary.
13. -The sound levels of the radio trailer sounded
clear and professional. This was due to the way
we edited the audio clips on Adobe Premiere
as we ensured that the background music was
consistent and of a low volume during the
montage so that all the speech could be clearly
heard. Furthermore, we used a voice recorder
and a recorded the script in a quiet location so
that the speech of the presenter was clear and
that there was no background noise present.
14. Lastly, the participants said that the
collection of overlapping quotes (the
montage) built up interest and made it
entertaining to listen to as there was a lot
to take in, in a small period of time.
Overall people said that due to these
features, the overall product was of a
high quality
15. Sixty percent of people said that
they would give the rating of 10
out of 10 for how well the radio
trailer advertises and promotes
the documentary.
16. The majority of people asked (30 percent) said
that the main word that they would use to
describe the radio trailer would be “engaging”
and before I looked at the results for the answers
as to why people thought this, I contemplated
how this was possibly due to the fact that the
topic of the radio trailer is not given away
immediately and it gives the target audience a
chance to ponder and think of these quotes and
opinions and what they are based on. When I
looked at the final result, it turned out that this
was the case as a total of six people said that they
would “want to find out more” after listening to
the radio trailer.
17. Other comments from respondents included how
they felt that the music played a part in the
product sounding “upbeat” and others
commented on the quality of the sound and how
it sounded professionally constructed and how it
created tension and suspense when the presenter
started speaking. This was deliberately done by
our group as the theme of violence and
aggression that is built up from the quotes is
symbolically represented through auditory effects
of the music. Forty percent of people answered
that they thought the overall sound quality
sounded professional and of a high standard.
18. Lastly, all of the people who
participated in the audience feedback
for the radio trailer said that they
would be likely to watch the full
documentary and this fulfils our aim
as a group and as media producers as
we have created a stimulating,
engaging and entertaining product
that people would be interested in
viewing.
