What have you learnt from your audience feedback? Adam Scarratt
The first feedback received was from a number of questionnaire's that were handed out to our target audience. From this we learnt the best demographics for our audience will be aimed at 17-19 year olds but may have an abhorrent audience of 13 and below.  A very large majority of the recipient said they watch music videos so therefore the music video for this demographic would be most successfully found on the television and or on the computer-internet because its readily available to a world wide range of people and is easily accessible.     The questionnaire showed that the recipient prefer a music video of around 3mintues length.  When asked whether they preferred a narrative or performance based vides the highest response was narrative therefore in conjunction it also showed that, with comical being the favourite, and scary being second favourite, to be the most popular genre. The favorite music genre outlined by participants was Rock.With Drum and Bass being the second most popular.  Therefore from these results we based our video upon this and began a brain storm of ideas that combined most of the audiences feedback. Click link to see questionnaire results and also this link.
The second feedback received was from a focus group of media students in which we broadcasted our initial ideas from a PowerPoint presentation. After presenting a range of ideas for the video we opened the group into a discussion to which they could voice what they liked about the ideas, what could be improved to make the ideas better and what they didn’t like about the ideas. From this it enabled us to develop our ideas further and with feedback manipulate the ideas to improve the video.
Another source of feedback was from a test screening where we showed the final video to 3 people who fitted our target audience demographics and then asked them to voice their opinions on what they seen and what we could improve in the future. See video feedback here. From this feedback such idea’s were discussed: Song choice is very good and fits story line sufficiently Violence is something to be wary of. Zombie idea is original. The music choice isn’t for everybody, perhaps choose a more generic genre next time.
Another way in which we gained audience feed back was by posting the finished product onto Youtube and social networking sites such as Facebook. From this, people are able to comment upon the product and voice their opinions. Also people can like or disklike the video. They can share the link across the internet and post it onto various friends links and gain a wider readership of the product and gain even more feedback.  In total the video has got 205 views on Youtube and has such comments on Facebook as; “great! This was thoroughly entertaining”- Ed Brown 2011, “GOOD, loved the intense drama of the story line with combination of the song choice.”-JC Mustill 2011.
