3. We conducted a questionnaire to receive audience feedback. We presented our
draft trailer in front of the A2 and AS students, as well as their friends and family
and students from another school. The audience filled in the questionnaire after
watching our trailer. We also conducted interviews after the screening for further
feedback. The feedback helped us improve our trailer and produce our final draft,
as the audience pointed out errors that we did not realise.
4. 81.8% of our participants claimed that the trailer would make them want to watch
the film. This suggested to us that our trailer met its aim in grabbing the
audience's attention, and appealing to them. Also our trailer is aimed at people
aged 15-20, and most of our audiences were in that age group, which proved to
us that those age groups are perfect for our trailer. Furthermore, this result
showed us that we made a positive connection with our audience.
5. 95.5% of our participants agreed to our titles linking to the theme of our trailer,
meaning we successfully expressed the horror theme and genre throughout our
trailer. Only 4.5% disagreeing with the question, highlighted that overall our
theme and titles were effective. With this result we became confident in the titles
we have chosen.
6. We were pleased that all our participants recognised our trailer was of a
horror genre, this underlined that we have used traits of a horror genre
effectively, also gave us confidence that our research on the trails were
successful.
7. As a result we found that 95.5% of our participants understood our plot,
meaning that we were able to disclose our plot to our audience. As a result we
did not change the plot, and kept it the same.
8. 68.2% of our participants recognised the development of our characters,
meaning we were able to show the development process of our characters
well, and our characters made a positive tie with our audience.
9. Our technical elements such as sound, camera shots and editing were important
for us during the making process. 86.4% of our participants believed our editing
and sound effects were proficient, which gave us confidence in our work, making
us believe that the editing had the effect we wanted it to have on the audience.
10. The comments were overall positive, however a criticism we received a numerous
times is that the characters voices were not clear enough due to the wind or the
soundtrack being too loud. With this comment we edited our final draft, increasing the
voices of our characters and we slightly decreased the sound effects and soundtrack
so that our audience are satisfied and can hear everything properly. The comments
suggested that our trailer was well made and appealed to the audience.
11. We interviewed people from the audience,
and she was one of them. In the interview
she stated that she particularly liked the
jump scare at the end, this shows that we
adapted well to our horror genre and this
had the effect we wanted on the
audience. She also said she liked the
sound effect of the music box, this gave
us confidence in the sound effects we
have used, making us realise that our
audience paid attention to the sound
closely. Our interviewee highlighted that
one of the camera angles she liked were
the close up shot of Ella, stating that it
was creepy. This shows that we were able
to give the audience the chilling feeling we
wanted to.

interviewed. He stated that he enjoyed our
trailer, and that he liked the camera
angles/techniques that we had used. He also
stated that he liked our ending. We were
happy with his comments as he liked the
ending of our trailer, and said he would like to
watch it in the cinema if it was to come out.
This showed us that our trailer pulled the
audience in and had an effect on them.
