As we can see on
the results table,
Pop has been
voted the most
popular of all the
genres listed. That
means our group
should keep to the
pop genre and
show typical
elements of pop
conventions in
order to make it
known as soon as it
starts.
Although this question doesn’t pose as much importance for our production
of the music video, I believed that knowing which platforms people usually
use for music video viewing would enable us to find similar music videos
which we can base ours on.
I believe knowing
what the viewer likes
seeing in a music
video is a very
important element
and essential for us in
our production task.
The majority was split
between symbolism
and a narrative, and
this suggests that our
video will keep to
those two to appeal to
the audience.
This question
can help us to
see what music
videos other
people listen to,
and we can
then become
influenced by
the music
videos chosen.
The question asked enables us to find out specifically why they enjoyed it.
The typical responses were because they were humorous, because the
video was relevant, because the video has a meaning. Keeping to some
of these elements can make sure that our music video can turn out
professional.
I asked this
question to find
out who we should
cast as our main
role, since the
song is sung by a
male. The result
was half and half
so this means we
can freely choose
a girl or a boy to
play the main role.
Because the majority
said that the video
does have to match
the lyrics, we can
tailor our shot list
according to the
song lyrics.
Because the results were
typically high for viewings,
this can ensure us that our
music video will be seen.
This question is
similar to why they
enjoyed the music
video they chose,
however, this
question is for
music videos in
general. We can
find out specific
elements in a music
video to include in
ours.
At initial thought, I wanted to
include some violence and
death in our music video in
order to shock the viewer, and
adding emotion and feeling to
the video. However, the
responses suggest that they
wouldn’t enjoy the video as
much if any inappropriate
theme is shown.
