2. • My audience would be mainly
teenagers and young adults.
However, some older adults
may also enjoy the information
in my magazine. They will
obviously have to be interested
in rock and Gothic/ emo
clothes, songs etc. My
magazine is made for either
male or female and this is
shown as I have used mixed
gender bands all the way
through.
3. This is a video of my typical target
audience
This is my typical target audience. They can be
male or female, however I used a female for this
video. Jamie’s look (black hair, dark clothing), is
typically what I would expect my target audience to
look like and be wearing.
5. I attracted my audience by using:
• Colours: the colours I used
are very rock colours and
they relate to the genre.
Rock is a very dark and dull
coloured genre, there for I
used purple and black.
These colours are uni-sex
so they can be enjoyed by
both genders. The yellow is
used slightly throughout
the magazine to add
interest and make it
slightly more appealing/
stand out.
6. Feedback from focus group
• The focus group I used gave me a lot of ideas and gave me an
idea of what my target audience would like best. They all gave
a different idea for colours I should use; some purple & black,
some yellow & black. This is how I came up with using all
three colours.
• They also gave me an idea of what type of ethnicity my
magazine should be aimed at and what age range. This
allowed me to aim all my information and images to these
people specifically and gave me an idea of who would be my
typical target audience.
• Lastly they told me which mast head they felt would fit best in
my magazine and attract that age range, something that
would link to the genre, the magazine and be understood by
the audience.
