Story Board Adaptations and Changes
1. Story Board Adaptations and Changes
The story board for our product's narrative and performance has taken longer
than expected to complete due to several song changes and then changes to the
idea of what type of narrative we wanted to portray through our work, we took
into consideration the theory of James Baker when coming to how we want to set
out representation. we took into consideration what type of shots and
techniques were available to us and we chose which ones were able to correctly
put forth our message to the audience and which put forward representation the
way we wanted it when considering this video for example the high angle shots
helping the audience look down upon the main character in the video where as
in our previous bland idea of creating a simple music video of two characters
falling in love there wouldn't be much use for shots like this as there is not much
varying emotion.
We carefully organised our new narrative to put through the right messages
when deemed correct for example we didn't want the main character going
straight for the flowers so we had him walking down towards the florist
bumping into random people showing his mind fixed upon one focus which
could have the audience guessing and curious to what it is.
We chose to have one singular character towards the near end when the
grandma comes into play and this is due to us wanting to adapt James Baker's
third way of Mediation and making it easier for the audience to have that one
central focus throughout the video which would make it easier and more
entertaining for the viewer.
Our original video had none of these traits and ideas and would have been very
bland and plain, it would have had next to no relation to James Baker, Andrew
Goodwin etc… so my group thought it a good idea to change our idea completely
as to help us get a closer relation to their theories and hopefully create a greater
and more entertaining final product.
