This is what I'm hoping to do with my design as I think this effect
looks really good. I like the idea of how the letters and words
make up the image and how the colour scheme is the same
throughout. With my design I will use a title and build it up with
images, a lot like this one but without the words.
I like how they have used the same colours as the game they are
advertising. I also like how they have used the neon green colour
to attract their audience, which contrasts greatly with the black
background.
The big writing in places I believe is also very eye- catching
because it leads you to it almost straight away, and begs you to
wonder why that’s big and the rest of the writings small. You
soon realise its like that so that even if you just glance through it
you know what message its trying to get across.
I also believe the skull works really effectively as Call of Duty is
about war and in reality what happens in war? Death. So the
skull for me clearly represents the sign of death and how that’s
the only thing that comes out of war. As the first line suggests
“Peace is filled with living casualties”.
Existing Product
I like the vibrant color of the background of this
design as it instantly catches the viewers eye.
Although I feel as though this design is aimed
at younger people as the design is quite wacky
and quirky, as you can see that from the game
models.
I also like how the on symbol is portrayed as a
amp cable and how each letter is made up by a
piece of gaming equipment. I think this is really
cool because it shows the viewers imagination
into not only seeing letters of the word game
but seeing equipment making the word.
I like how the background contrasts really well
with the message as I believe it makes the
message stand out even more than perhaps it
should do. Although I mentioned it was for a
younger audience it could perhaps also be for
an older one as we see a mace at the top of the
screen, indicating a bit of violence.
Existing Product
I think the design of this is really cool and
exactly what I want my to look like. I like how
the bricks make up the game over words as it’s a
big reference and shout out to the Mario
games.
The background contrasts really well with the
letters as well, which makes feel as if I should
sway to black rather than the grey I was going to
go for, as clearly shown here black really goes
with anything. The black could also represent
the game over as when you usually fail in games
the screen goes black so this could also be
referencing that.
The image also is mysterious as it doesn’t try to
catch your it wants you to find it, instead of the
other way round like many other posters. The
image also sends of quite a creepy/strange
message for someone seeing it and didn’t
perhaps understand the game reference.
Existing Product
This design is a lot like the first one apart from isn’t as war
themed as Call of Duty and a lot more family orientated. I
really like how the letters covey the image of the sword and
the symbol of the Zelda. Another reason I like this is because it
appeals to all ages as Zelda is a child’s game in truth.
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched
products have?
• The researched products are all related to game concepts.
• The researched products are all ideas that I would be generally interesting in doing as I think
they all look really good.
• They all focus on attracting their audience with bright colours or shout out to other games
• What aspects of the research will you include
within your on work?
• I would like to go for the similar idea of the Game over image and the Call of duty one as I
want my poster to incorporate meaning as this one does.
• I would also like to include in depth images like the Zelda one above as it really catches your
eye and drags you towards the image.
Questionnaire Analysis
Audience research
• Observation:
• I have noticed that more people are aged between 16-17 which is great as I really wanted answers from this type of age. I
have also observed that no one above 20 has submitted an answer which is positive as I want a perspective of a person of
that is of similar age fro me.
• What this says about my audience:
• This says that I have a reasonably young audience which I’m pleased about as it allows me to get a opinion
from people that have a similar outlook to me.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
• My product will appeal to my audience because it is dedicated to that age group. It isn’t for children but it
isn’t really for adults. It will also appeal to my audience because the poster includes games in which I
played as a kid and what people similar to my age played as a kid, so its kind of a memorabilia in a way,
memories for younger gamer.
Audience research
• Observation:
• My observation from this question is that more males have submitted my questionnaire and completed it
than females. This is good though as my theme is focused on games that stereotypically males tend to play
more than females.
• What this says about my audience:
• This says that my audience is predominately male and that perhaps more males would be more interested
in viewing my poster and understanding my poster. It also suggests that more males are more for my idea
than females as none of them have decided to submit a response.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
• My product will appeal to my audience by staying on the theme I am as I’m getting interest from guys
wanting to see more, my product will also appeal to my audience as if people are interested now when my
idea isn’t created its guaranteed to attract people when its done.
Audience research
• Observation: My observation of this is that more people are interested in the action/adventure genre. In
fact everyone who did the questionnaire chose action/adventure suggesting to me that, that is definitely
the most popular genre by far.
• What this says about my audience:
• This says that my audience is interested in the action/adventure genre.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
• My product appeals to the audience by using action/ adventure in it, it also appeals to my
audience by showing the interest they have in this particular genre implying that I should
probably use it.
Audience research
• Observation: This shows that I have mixed reviews about this question. As people are torn
between three different categories.
• What this says about my audience:
• This says that my audience are giving me their honest opinion onto what they
think would work
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
• My product will appeal to my audience because I will list the answers that I havebbengiven
and put them into my poster
Audience research
• Observation:
• Here I have observed that my submitters sre torn between two ifferant sugestions which is interesting.
• What this says about my audience:
• This says that they are interesting in both these things being incorporated in my poster which is good.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
• My product will appeal to my audeice by by listening to the sugesstions and forwarding them on to the design of
my poster to make it appeal to the audience.
Audience research
• Observation:
• I have observed here that one suggestion is bigger than the other one as shown in the image, implying that that
suggestion is more wanted so ill probably use that one instead of the other.
• What this says about my audience:
• This says that my audience are interested in two different option that I have suggested to
them, one more than the other, they want to see perhaps these two things incorporated in.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
• My product will appeal to this audience because I wil listen to them and put what ineed to put in, in
my poster.
Audience research
• Observation:
• Here I have mixed reviews about my question and mixed opinions, showing that the people who have submitted
their answers are giving their advice to me honestly
• What this says about my audience:
• This says that my audience are intrigued in this question and want to broadcast their ideas towards which they
think will go best with my poster.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
• My product will appeal to my audience by taking all the answers into account and applying them Into my poster.
Audience research
• Observation:
• This shows that my audience have submitted their answers towards this question and have answered their questions
specifically to them. With no guidance from myself.
• What this says about my audience:
• This says about my audience being interesting as they have all given me different ideas in this question showing
that they want my poster to be as good as I do.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
• My product will appeal to my audience as I will take their ideas into account and use them to evolve my
poster.
Audience research
• Observation:
• This shows that my everyone who submitted my questionnaire is all in favour of one specific option and
would be interested in seeing that in my poster.
• What this says about my audience:
• This says that my audience want a dark/creepy colour scheme as they think it will best suit my poster, this
also says that they didn’t think the other options were great selections or perhaps good ideas.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
• My product will appeal to its audience by listening to the audiences feedback and going with a
dark/creepy theme as I believe more people will look at it more, if it looks like this.
Audience research
• Observation:
• This shows that the people who submitted my survey all have strong
opinions on my last option and you can see this by the image
• What this says about my audience:
• This says that my audience are really invested in gaming which Is a great sign as this is where
I'm intending my audience for.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
• My product will appeal to my audience because my poster will be a gaming poster and by the
looks of this question it seems my audience really likes gaming so this will benefit them a lot.
Interviews
Interview 1
• Would you be interested in a black background? If not what
colour would you be interested in?
• Do you like the slogan “Games come alive”? if not what would
be a better one?
• Are you interested in Action being the main theme for the
poster? If not what would be a better option?
• What Kind of Games would you like to see included in this
poster? And why?
• What would intrigue you to look at my poster?
Interview 1
• Observation: The person I asked agreed with 75% of my questions and
wouldn’t give me a great answer for the last question as he didn't’t really know a
lot on games. Overall it was a positive experiences on my questions as it proved
my idea’s were good and I’m excited to use them for my final product
• What this says about my audience:
• This says that they are intrigued with my ideas and want me to go through with
them. As the person I asked didn’t disagree with my idea and didn’t give me a idea
to change something which is good to hear. Although I didn't’t really get decant
feedback on my last question so hopefully on the next person I ask the may be
able to give me a better response. This also suggests that my audience are liking
what I'm implying and want to see more.
• How will your product appeal to this audience:
• My product will appeal to my audience by keep doing what they are telling me to
do, if I keep following their advice then how can the audience not appeal to my
product.
Interview 2
• Would you be interested in a black background? If not what
colour would you be interested in?
• Do you like the slogan “Games come alive”? if not what would
be a better one?
• Are you interested in Action being the main theme for the
poster? If not what would be a better option?
• What Kind of Games would you like to see included in this
poster? And why?
• What would intrigue you to look at my poster?
Interview 2
• Observation: The person disagreed with a majority of my questions, but agreed
with the fact I should have a black background, which is a common theme between the two
people I have asked. The person gave me good feedback onto some ideas that I probably will
put on my design in the future. The person didn’t have any problems answering any of the
questions which is a huge plus.
• What this says about my audience:
• This says that my audience are Interested in most of my ideas that I'm putting forward and
you can see that from my observation. This also says my audience are keen on a few things
but would like to see some things incorporated and some things changed, which is great as
this can help me evolve my ideas.
• How will your product appeal to this
audience:
• My product will appeal to my audience as I will listen to my audiences feedback and
broadcast that through my product. My product will also appeal to my audience because I
will change and think about changing what my audience want me to change.

Research Evaluation
Research Evaluation
• Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method
– Product Research
– Strengths – The strengths of the product research was that I was able to get a good understanding of
what I wanted my product to look like and how to get it to look like that. Another strength is knowing
that if I wasn’t 100% sure with my idea I no knew what to expect so it helped me make my mind up.
– Weaknesses – The weaknesses of the product research was the products I was searching for in
particular wasn’t there so I had to go on a similar idea which still helped me but it would have been
better if I had an exact copy of what I wanted to do.
– Questionnaires
– Strengths – The strengths of the questionnaire was that it allowed me to get a clear view on what my
audience wanted me to include in my poster and what perhaps I shouldn’t include in my poster.
Another strength was that it showed me how old and the sex of what my audience would be who
would buy or gaze at my poster which was good.
– Weaknesses – The weaknesses of the questionnaire was that if people didn’t submit any responses
for it you wouldn’t get any feedback on your questions so the whole thing would be pointless.
– Interviews
– Strengths – The strengths of the interviews was that it gave me more serious and more thorough
feedback as I was talking to the person face to face. Another strength was that I got more interaction
and valid responses.
– Weaknesses- The weaknesses of the interviews was if the person I was asking didn’t really know
anything that my product was based on then he/she wouldn’t be able to answer them. Another
weakness was people would answer half-heartedly as they didn’t particular care.
Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get?
– I got a overall positive response from my survey as the people who took part
in it answered sensibly and honestly , which gave me decant feedback and
more information I could add to my design. My response was also positive
because I was able to post it onto my social media to get a wide response,
whilst since I was in a classroom I was limited to 10 people so I didn’t always
get the best response from them.
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
– Putting it on social media sites e.g Facebook or blackboard, I was able to get a
varied response like mentioned above. Although In a classroom environment I
was restricted to the people in my class or if they could be even bothered to
do my questionnaire.

  • 2. Existing Product This is what I'm hoping to do with my design as I think this effect looks really good. I like the idea of how the letters and words make up the image and how the colour scheme is the same throughout. With my design I will use a title and build it up with images, a lot like this one but without the words. I like how they have used the same colours as the game they are advertising. I also like how they have used the neon green colour to attract their audience, which contrasts greatly with the black background. The big writing in places I believe is also very eye- catching because it leads you to it almost straight away, and begs you to wonder why that’s big and the rest of the writings small. You soon realise its like that so that even if you just glance through it you know what message its trying to get across. I also believe the skull works really effectively as Call of Duty is about war and in reality what happens in war? Death. So the skull for me clearly represents the sign of death and how that’s the only thing that comes out of war. As the first line suggests “Peace is filled with living casualties”.
  • 3. Existing Product I like the vibrant color of the background of this design as it instantly catches the viewers eye. Although I feel as though this design is aimed at younger people as the design is quite wacky and quirky, as you can see that from the game models. I also like how the on symbol is portrayed as a amp cable and how each letter is made up by a piece of gaming equipment. I think this is really cool because it shows the viewers imagination into not only seeing letters of the word game but seeing equipment making the word. I like how the background contrasts really well with the message as I believe it makes the message stand out even more than perhaps it should do. Although I mentioned it was for a younger audience it could perhaps also be for an older one as we see a mace at the top of the screen, indicating a bit of violence.
  • 4. Existing Product I think the design of this is really cool and exactly what I want my to look like. I like how the bricks make up the game over words as it’s a big reference and shout out to the Mario games. The background contrasts really well with the letters as well, which makes feel as if I should sway to black rather than the grey I was going to go for, as clearly shown here black really goes with anything. The black could also represent the game over as when you usually fail in games the screen goes black so this could also be referencing that. The image also is mysterious as it doesn’t try to catch your it wants you to find it, instead of the other way round like many other posters. The image also sends of quite a creepy/strange message for someone seeing it and didn’t perhaps understand the game reference.
  • 5. Existing Product This design is a lot like the first one apart from isn’t as war themed as Call of Duty and a lot more family orientated. I really like how the letters covey the image of the sword and the symbol of the Zelda. Another reason I like this is because it appeals to all ages as Zelda is a child’s game in truth.
  • 6. Research Analysis • What common features do the researched products have? • The researched products are all related to game concepts. • The researched products are all ideas that I would be generally interesting in doing as I think they all look really good. • They all focus on attracting their audience with bright colours or shout out to other games • What aspects of the research will you include within your on work? • I would like to go for the similar idea of the Game over image and the Call of duty one as I want my poster to incorporate meaning as this one does. • I would also like to include in depth images like the Zelda one above as it really catches your eye and drags you towards the image.
  • 8. Audience research • Observation: • I have noticed that more people are aged between 16-17 which is great as I really wanted answers from this type of age. I have also observed that no one above 20 has submitted an answer which is positive as I want a perspective of a person of that is of similar age fro me. • What this says about my audience: • This says that I have a reasonably young audience which I’m pleased about as it allows me to get a opinion from people that have a similar outlook to me. • How will your product appeal to this audience: • My product will appeal to my audience because it is dedicated to that age group. It isn’t for children but it isn’t really for adults. It will also appeal to my audience because the poster includes games in which I played as a kid and what people similar to my age played as a kid, so its kind of a memorabilia in a way, memories for younger gamer.
  • 9. Audience research • Observation: • My observation from this question is that more males have submitted my questionnaire and completed it than females. This is good though as my theme is focused on games that stereotypically males tend to play more than females. • What this says about my audience: • This says that my audience is predominately male and that perhaps more males would be more interested in viewing my poster and understanding my poster. It also suggests that more males are more for my idea than females as none of them have decided to submit a response. • How will your product appeal to this audience: • My product will appeal to my audience by staying on the theme I am as I’m getting interest from guys wanting to see more, my product will also appeal to my audience as if people are interested now when my idea isn’t created its guaranteed to attract people when its done.
  • 10. Audience research • Observation: My observation of this is that more people are interested in the action/adventure genre. In fact everyone who did the questionnaire chose action/adventure suggesting to me that, that is definitely the most popular genre by far. • What this says about my audience: • This says that my audience is interested in the action/adventure genre. • How will your product appeal to this audience: • My product appeals to the audience by using action/ adventure in it, it also appeals to my audience by showing the interest they have in this particular genre implying that I should probably use it.
  • 11. Audience research • Observation: This shows that I have mixed reviews about this question. As people are torn between three different categories. • What this says about my audience: • This says that my audience are giving me their honest opinion onto what they think would work • How will your product appeal to this audience: • My product will appeal to my audience because I will list the answers that I havebbengiven and put them into my poster
  • 12. Audience research • Observation: • Here I have observed that my submitters sre torn between two ifferant sugestions which is interesting. • What this says about my audience: • This says that they are interesting in both these things being incorporated in my poster which is good. • How will your product appeal to this audience: • My product will appeal to my audeice by by listening to the sugesstions and forwarding them on to the design of my poster to make it appeal to the audience.
  • 13. Audience research • Observation: • I have observed here that one suggestion is bigger than the other one as shown in the image, implying that that suggestion is more wanted so ill probably use that one instead of the other. • What this says about my audience: • This says that my audience are interested in two different option that I have suggested to them, one more than the other, they want to see perhaps these two things incorporated in. • How will your product appeal to this audience: • My product will appeal to this audience because I wil listen to them and put what ineed to put in, in my poster.
  • 14. Audience research • Observation: • Here I have mixed reviews about my question and mixed opinions, showing that the people who have submitted their answers are giving their advice to me honestly • What this says about my audience: • This says that my audience are intrigued in this question and want to broadcast their ideas towards which they think will go best with my poster. • How will your product appeal to this audience: • My product will appeal to my audience by taking all the answers into account and applying them Into my poster.
  • 15. Audience research • Observation: • This shows that my audience have submitted their answers towards this question and have answered their questions specifically to them. With no guidance from myself. • What this says about my audience: • This says about my audience being interesting as they have all given me different ideas in this question showing that they want my poster to be as good as I do. • How will your product appeal to this audience: • My product will appeal to my audience as I will take their ideas into account and use them to evolve my poster.
  • 16. Audience research • Observation: • This shows that my everyone who submitted my questionnaire is all in favour of one specific option and would be interested in seeing that in my poster. • What this says about my audience: • This says that my audience want a dark/creepy colour scheme as they think it will best suit my poster, this also says that they didn’t think the other options were great selections or perhaps good ideas. • How will your product appeal to this audience: • My product will appeal to its audience by listening to the audiences feedback and going with a dark/creepy theme as I believe more people will look at it more, if it looks like this.
  • 17. Audience research • Observation: • This shows that the people who submitted my survey all have strong opinions on my last option and you can see this by the image • What this says about my audience: • This says that my audience are really invested in gaming which Is a great sign as this is where I'm intending my audience for. • How will your product appeal to this audience: • My product will appeal to my audience because my poster will be a gaming poster and by the looks of this question it seems my audience really likes gaming so this will benefit them a lot.
  • 19. Interview 1 • Would you be interested in a black background? If not what colour would you be interested in? • Do you like the slogan “Games come alive”? if not what would be a better one? • Are you interested in Action being the main theme for the poster? If not what would be a better option? • What Kind of Games would you like to see included in this poster? And why? • What would intrigue you to look at my poster?
  • 20. Interview 1 • Observation: The person I asked agreed with 75% of my questions and wouldn’t give me a great answer for the last question as he didn't’t really know a lot on games. Overall it was a positive experiences on my questions as it proved my idea’s were good and I’m excited to use them for my final product • What this says about my audience: • This says that they are intrigued with my ideas and want me to go through with them. As the person I asked didn’t disagree with my idea and didn’t give me a idea to change something which is good to hear. Although I didn't’t really get decant feedback on my last question so hopefully on the next person I ask the may be able to give me a better response. This also suggests that my audience are liking what I'm implying and want to see more. • How will your product appeal to this audience: • My product will appeal to my audience by keep doing what they are telling me to do, if I keep following their advice then how can the audience not appeal to my product.
  • 21. Interview 2 • Would you be interested in a black background? If not what colour would you be interested in? • Do you like the slogan “Games come alive”? if not what would be a better one? • Are you interested in Action being the main theme for the poster? If not what would be a better option? • What Kind of Games would you like to see included in this poster? And why? • What would intrigue you to look at my poster?
  • 22. Interview 2 • Observation: The person disagreed with a majority of my questions, but agreed with the fact I should have a black background, which is a common theme between the two people I have asked. The person gave me good feedback onto some ideas that I probably will put on my design in the future. The person didn’t have any problems answering any of the questions which is a huge plus. • What this says about my audience: • This says that my audience are Interested in most of my ideas that I'm putting forward and you can see that from my observation. My product will also appeal to my audience because I will change and think about changing what my audience want me to change.
  • 23. Audience Profile Category Demographic Content to appeal to this audience Age Range The age I want my product to be aimed at is 16-18 year olds. • Because 16-18 year olds will understand what the poster is about • The games advertised on the posters are only meant for 16-18 year olds Gender The gender I will be aiming my product at will be mainly males but females are welcome. • Because the games I will be showing are more male oriented. • Some games on this list attract both genders so that’s why I'm happen to both genders playing Psychographic My product will be fine for every physiographic as it doesn't offend any cultures or religions or views • The games including do not include anything that will offend anyone from any background. • People will want to play games that won’t offend them. Social Status My product will be aimed at all social status as it wont offend any social statuses • People will want to play a game that doesn't’t offend their class. • People will play a game where they can relate to the class of their character.
  • 25. Research Evaluation • Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method – Product Research – Strengths – The strengths of the product research was that I was able to get a good understanding of what I wanted my product to look like and how to get it to look like that. Another strength is knowing that if I wasn’t 100% sure with my idea I no knew what to expect so it helped me make my mind up. – Weaknesses – The weaknesses of the product research was the products I was searching for in particular wasn’t there so I had to go on a similar idea which still helped me but it would have been better if I had an exact copy of what I wanted to do. – Questionnaires – Strengths – The strengths of the questionnaire was that it allowed me to get a clear view on what my audience wanted me to include in my poster and what perhaps I shouldn’t include in my poster. Another strength was that it showed me how old and the sex of what my audience would be who would buy or gaze at my poster which was good. – Weaknesses – The weaknesses of the questionnaire was that if people didn’t submit any responses for it you wouldn’t get any feedback on your questions so the whole thing would be pointless. – Interviews – Strengths – The strengths of the interviews was that it gave me more serious and more thorough feedback as I was talking to the person face to face. Another strength was that I got more interaction and valid responses. – Weaknesses- The weaknesses of the interviews was if the person I was asking didn’t really know anything that my product was based on then he/she wouldn’t be able to answer them. Another weakness was people would answer half-heartedly as they didn’t particular care.
  • 26. Research Evaluation – What sort of a response did you get? – I got a overall positive response from my survey as the people who took part in it answered sensibly and honestly , which gave me decant feedback and more information I could add to my design. My response was also positive because I was able to post it onto my social media to get a wide response, whilst since I was in a classroom I was limited to 10 people so I didn’t always get the best response from them. – How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage – Putting it on social media sites e.g Facebook or blackboard, I was able to get a varied response like mentioned above. Although In a classroom environment I was restricted to the people in my class or if they could be even bothered to do my questionnaire.
