Existing Product
The important things I have found in my research of existing product page is that that news
websites have mainly written down information hyping up the game event with a video link
related to the game the page is covering with the bottom of the site having other links to other
stories related to gaming.

The important things I have found in my research of existing products is that like before the page
mostly consist of text hyping up the game to the readers with images related to the game the
web page is covering with advertisements of gaming relating items and finally at the bottom
having other news stories relating to life in general and other gaming news.

Existing Product
What I have found in my research of existing products is that the mug image has image of both
Ezio and altiri in the famous poses from each game the star in from assassins' creed 1 to 2 to
brother hood this is effective in getting the target audience to buy it because of their existing
brand loyalty with the poses telling them these mugs are the real deal and not some cheap
knock off and also because since the character are in dynamic poses sometimes people will buy
thing just because the look cool.

What I have found through my research of existing products is that the image on the mug has
the chief in his iconic pose taken from the box art of halo 4 which will appeal to its target
audience as those who are brand loyal to the halo brand will recognize the image and know it
the real deal to and buy it and for anyone who isn’t brand loyal again sometime people buy
thing because they look cool enough

In my research of existing products I have found that shirt
design based on games have designs which use character
objects or vehicles found in the games in which this shirt
design has a schematic of a banished locus.

In my research of existing products I have found that any
shirt design based on games use predesigned images as
the image used on the image is also found on the cover
for assassin’s creed brother hood without the text below
the image.

based on video games usually reuse the art from
the front cover of the game for the poster design
with creative reworks to the design.

poster most posters reuse images used on the

When It came to researching existing products, I found that this behind the
scenes include footage of both the motion capture for cutscenes for the
game, interviews of the cast and crew from actors to programmers and story
writer’s and their opinions about working on the game with footage of
concept art and the process of making the assets for the game and what they
want from the games story going forward into sequel.

When it came to researching existing products, I found that this behind
the scenes video had more of a focus on the designers of the game the
history of how the game came to be what rules they had to follow
when it came to making the assets for the game and how they worked
and any problem they encountered during development with bits of
footage showing game play and the making of the assets for the game.
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
– One common feature I have found in the products I have research is that many
of them had footage or images or even use images in them.
– Another common feature in the product I have researched is the art style
which was realism.
– A final common feature in the products I have researched was when it came
to both the web page news and the behind the scenes was that they both had
developers talking about what aspect of the game they like and what they
plan to do in the future with the game or future game.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?
 One aspects of the research I will include within my own work will be to use
assets from the game that I am using as an advertisement for the game
company for t-shirt, mug and poster designs.
 Another aspect of my research I will include in my own product is how my
news web page is set as I will have an interview section with one of the
developers

Audience research
• Observation: from observation I found that 20% of my audiance preferred t-shirt
designs whilst 0% of my audiance preferred mug designs with 30% of my audiance
preferred poster designs and finally 50% of my audiance preferred all three.
• What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that a vast
majority preferer all three merchandise design.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: how my product will appeal to this
audience is because during production I will be making a shirt design, a mug design
and a poster design.

• Observation: an observation I can get from this is that 60% of my audience prefer a
cartoonish art style whilst 40% of my audience preferer a realistic art style
• What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that most of my
audience prefer a cartoonish art style
• How will your product appeal to this audience: my product will appeal to this audience
because I plan on using a cartoonish design for my merchandise image designs.

• Observation: an observation I can get from this is that 20% prefer a medieval fantasy theme for a game whilst
40% prefer a steam punk theme for a game with another 40% prefer a sci-fi feel for a game.
• What this says about my audience: what this say about my audience is that most prefer either a steam punk or
sci fi theme to a game whilst a small majority prefer medieval fantasy theme for a game.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: for this project I am taking a risk as I plan on having theme of
my game being medieval fantasy which I feel will allow for more creativity so it appeals to the small majority of
my audience and maybe if the creativity is good enough the other majority's may be appealed.

• Observation: an observation I can find in this questionnaire page is that 40% of my audience like strategy
games, whilst 30% of my audience first person shooters with the other 30% prefer puzzle games.
• What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that most want a strategy game over a
first person shooter or a puzzle game
• How will your product appeal to this audience: my product will appeal to this audience because the game a
plan on advertising is a strategy games which is the type of game the majority of my audience prefer.

• Observation: an observation I can take from these responses is that most people want a behind the scenes
video that went into the making of the game.
• What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that they may want to know what go’s
into making the game and maybe taking inspiration from it and taking it as a reference on what to do in their
project’s whether they be games or something else.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: how this will appeal to my audience is that I will take what has
been told to me and use as I guide on how to make my behind the scene’s video.

• Observation: an observation I can get from this questionnaire page Is that 72.73% of my audience prefer video
game trailers as advertisement where as 27.27% of my audience prefer gameplay reveals as advertisement.
• What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that most people prefer trailer as
advertisements for games.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: the way my products will appeal to my audience is that I plan on
making a gameplay trailer which will appeal to my audience in the vast mjority

• Observation: an observation I can get from this questionnaire page is that 45.45% of my audience preferred
black for the t-shirt colour whilst 18.18% preferred gray for the t-shirt colour and finally 36.36% of my audience
prefer white for t-shirt colour.
• What this says about my audience: what this says abut my audience is that they think that black would be the
best colour to contrast my design against.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: my product will appeal to this audience because I plan on
having the colour of my t-shirt be black to allow the design to contrast against it allowing it to stand out more.

• Observation: an observation I can get from this questionnaire page is that 9.09% of my audience prefer a hat
design for clothing merchandise whilst 36.36% of my audience prefer a shirt design for clothing merchandise
with 54.55% of my audience prefer jumper design for clothing merchandise.
• What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that most of my audience prefer to
have a jumper design for gaming advertisements.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: the way my product will appeal to this audience is that I plan on
changing my idea of doing a shirt design instead do a jumper design as that what the vast majority want.

• Observation: the observation I found in this questioner page was that most response expect
news and information regarding the topic the page was covering.
• What this says about my audience: is that they want the fact and information on the game
when it coming out what platform it releases on ect.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: my product will appeal to this audience
because I plan on using the answers I have gotten from this page and use them as a base on
how to set my news page out.

• Observation: an observation I can get from this questionnaire page is that 72.73% of my audience are between
the ages of 16-20 with 18.18% being between the ages of 20-24 with the other 9.09 being between the ages of
older.
• What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that most are teenagers to young adults
with a few being older.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: how my product will appeal to this audience is that the theme
of my game is medieval fantasy which is popular among teenagers and young adults.

 What do you expect from a t-shirt design based on a video game?
• I expect a shirt design to have something that come from the game like a character
or logo that can be found within the game.
 How would you expect a news page covering a video game to be set out?
• The way I expect a news page covering a video game is that have a brief
introduction with the page talking about features or upcoming one with an
interview with one of the developers.
 What do you expect from a poster design related to a video game?
• What I expect from a poster relating to a game is that the design reuses the cover
art of the games case or an original design.
 Would you prefer the art style of design being more cartoonish or realistic?
• I prefer more cartoonish styles
 When it come to mug designs used to promote a video game what do you expect
to find?
• When it come to a mug design promoting a video game, I expect it to use a design
that can be found in the game or use and existing the design in a new format or
design.
Interview 1
• Observation: from my observation of the interviewee is that they
are a hard core game as they knew a lot of technical word when
games are being develop such as assets which is a term used for
and object or NPC in the game.
• What this says about my audience: what this says about my
audience is that they are very observant on how game are played
and made and the merchandise used the advertise them and I need
to make sure put everything that I was told on what they expect to
find in every piece of advertisement merchandise.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: the way I plan on
appealing to my target audience is by creating a poster for my game
which would also be the front cover of the games box but also
make a symbol for one of the faction found in the game for a mug
design and vice verse for the shirt design and for my news page I
will have a brief introduction and some info on the game and an
interview part with one of the developers.

 What do you expect from a t-shirt design based on a video game?
• From my experience I have found that most shirt designs based on video games
usually have designs to do with what most player find in the game the shirt is
advertising.
 How would you expect a news page covering a video game to be set out?
• I would expect the page to give me detail about the game like what to expect from
the game and gameplay details.
 What do you expect from a poster design related to a video game?
• Usually they use the cover from the game.
 Would you prefer the art style of design being more cartoonish or realistic.
• I don’t really mind either.
 When it come to mug designs used to promote a video game what do you expect
to find.
• I find that most mug designs have the character or symbol on them.

• Observation: what I can observe from this is that this
person has basic information on what to expect from
advertisement merchandise based on video games.
• What this says about my audience: what this says about my
audience is that some of them are passive buyer with some
information on what go's into advertisement products and
how they are set out.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: my products
will appeal to this audience as a plan on following what
they expect for a news page covering a game with the mug,
t-shirt and poster designs using design of assets found in
the game the company is developing and using as an
advertisement for themselves.

 What do you expect from a t-shirt design based on a video game?
• To have images of characters and objects found within the game.
 How would you expect a news page covering a video game to be set out?
• The way I would expect it to be set would be to have some information on the
game like what to expect from game play or the story.
 What do you expect from a poster design related to a video game?
• Usually it consist of using the box cover design.
 Would you prefer the art style of design being more cartoonish or realistic?
• I prefer realistic.
 When it come to mug designs used to promote a video game what do you expect
to find?
• Usually I have found that mug design based on video game usually have the main
character on the mug in a pose.

• Observation: the observation I can get from this
interview is that the interview knows the basic of what
merchandise that is promoting a game looks like.
• What this says about my audience:what this says about
my audience is that I need to be thorough on how I
design the poster mug and shirt design so that they
know these product are advertising the game.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: the way
my product will appeal to this audience is because my
design for mug, poster and shirt design will include
thing that can be found within the game my made up
company is making.

 What do you expect from a t-shirt design based on a video game?
• Usually the design consists of having a character on the front.
 How would you expect a news page covering a video game to be set out?
• Usually the page I have read consist of having interview with the designer and
what people can expect from the game they are developing.
 What do you expect from a poster design related to a video game?
• Usually from what I have seen I consist of reusing the design of the front box cover.
 Would you prefer the art style of design being more cartoonish or realistic?
• I'm Morea less fine with both.
 When it come to mug designs used to promote a video game what do you expect
to find?
• What I would expect from a mug design is to either have the design being a
character in a pose or a symbol from a faction found in the game.

• Observation: the observation I can gather from this
interview is that the interviewee had basic knowledge on
what can be found in product advertisement for a game
• What this says about my audience: what this says about my
audience is that they have knowledge as to what can be
found both in and on advertisements for video game.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: the way my
product will appeal to this audience is by following what I
have learn such as having a character on the mug and shirt
design and reusing the box cover art for the poster and to
have my news page set up to where it has an interview with
one of the developers of the game and what to expect from
the game.

interviewee had variable knowledge of what go’s into
making promotional products for video games.
• What this says about my audience: this says to me that my
audience is very knowledgeable of how promotional
products are presented meaning I will need to be prices in
how I design my promotional products.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: my product
will appeal to my audience because I will take what I have
learned from these interviews and use them as a gudie on
how to set up and design my products I am using as a
promotional line for a made up company and the game
they are developing.

Existing Product The important things I have found in my research of existing product page is that that news websites have mainly written down information hyping up the game event with a video link related to the game the page is covering with the bottom of the site having other links to other stories related to gaming.

Existing Product What I have found in my research of existing products is that the mug image has image of both Ezio and altiri in the famous poses from each game the star in from assassins' creed 1 to 2 to brother hood this is effective in getting the target audience to buy it because of their existing brand loyalty with the poses telling them these mugs are the real deal and not some cheap knock off and also because since the character are in dynamic poses sometimes people will buy thing just because the look cool.

Existing Product What I have found through my research of existing products is that the image on the mug has the chief in his iconic pose taken from the box art of halo 4 which will appeal to its target audience as those who are brand loyal to the halo brand will recognize the image and know it the real deal to and buy it and for anyone who isn’t brand loyal again sometime people buy thing because they look cool enough
  • 6. Existing product In my research of existing products I have found that shirt design based on games have designs which use character objects or vehicles found in the games in which this shirt design has a schematic of a banished locus.
  • 7. Existing product In my research of existing products I have found that any shirt design based on games use predesigned images as the image used on the image is also found on the cover for assassin’s creed brother hood without the text below the image.
  • 8. Existing product During my research of existing products any posters based on video games usually reuse the art from the front cover of the game for the poster design with creative reworks to the design.
  • 9. Existing product • Like from before when it come to making a poster most posters reuse images used on the front cover of a games box.

Existing product When It came to researching existing products, I found that this behind the scenes include footage of both the motion capture for cutscenes for the game, interviews of the cast and crew from actors to programmers and story writer’s and their opinions about working on the game with footage of concept art and the process of making the assets for the game and what they want from the games story going forward into sequel.

Existing product When it came to researching existing products, I found that this behind the scenes video had more of a focus on the designers of the game the history of how the game came to be what rules they had to follow when it came to making the assets for the game and how they worked and any problem they encountered during development with bits of footage showing game play and the making of the assets for the game.

Research Analysis • What common features do the researched products have? – One common feature I have found in the products I have research is that many of them had footage or images or even use images in them. – Another common feature in the product I have researched is the art style which was realism. – A final common feature in the products I have researched was when it came to both the web page news and the behind the scenes was that they both had developers talking about what aspect of the game they like and what they plan to do in the future with the game or future game. • What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?  One aspects of the research I will include within my own work will be to use assets from the game that I am using as an advertisement for the game company for t-shirt, mug and poster designs.  Another aspect of my research I will include in my own product is how my news web page is set as I will have an interview section with one of the developers

Audience research • Observation: from observation I found that 20% of my audiance preferred t-shirt designs whilst 0% of my audiance preferred mug designs with 30% of my audiance preferred poster designs and finally 50% of my audiance preferred all three. • What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that a vast majority preferer all three merchandise design. • How will your product appeal to this audience: how my product will appeal to this audience is because during production I will be making a shirt design, a mug design and a poster design.

Audience research • Observation: an observation I can get from this is that 60% of my audience prefer a cartoonish art style whilst 40% of my audience preferer a realistic art style • What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that most of my audience prefer a cartoonish art style • How will your product appeal to this audience: my product will appeal to this audience because I plan on using a cartoonish design for my merchandise image designs.

Audience research • Observation: an observation I can get from this is that 20% prefer a medieval fantasy theme for a game whilst 40% prefer a steam punk theme for a game with another 40% prefer a sci-fi feel for a game. • What this says about my audience: what this say about my audience is that most prefer either a steam punk or sci fi theme to a game whilst a small majority prefer medieval fantasy theme for a game. • How will your product appeal to this audience: for this project I am taking a risk as I plan on having theme of my game being medieval fantasy which I feel will allow for more creativity so it appeals to the small majority of my audience and maybe if the creativity is good enough the other majority's may be appealed.

Audience research • Observation: an observation I can find in this questionnaire page is that 40% of my audience like strategy games, whilst 30% of my audience first person shooters with the other 30% prefer puzzle games. • What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that most want a strategy game over a first person shooter or a puzzle game • How will your product appeal to this audience: my product will appeal to this audience because the game a plan on advertising is a strategy games which is the type of game the majority of my audience prefer.

Audience research • Observation: an observation I can take from these responses is that most people want a behind the scenes video that went into the making of the game. • What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that they may want to know what go’s into making the game and maybe taking inspiration from it and taking it as a reference on what to do in their project’s whether they be games or something else. • How will your product appeal to this audience: how this will appeal to my audience is that I will take what has been told to me and use as I guide on how to make my behind the scene’s video.

Audience research • Observation: an observation I can get from this questionnaire page Is that 72.73% of my audience prefer video game trailers as advertisement where as 27.27% of my audience prefer gameplay reveals as advertisement. • What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that most people prefer trailer as advertisements for games. • How will your product appeal to this audience: the way my products will appeal to my audience is that I plan on making a gameplay trailer which will appeal to my audience in the vast mjority

Audience research • Observation: an observation I can get from this questionnaire page is that 45.45% of my audience preferred black for the t-shirt colour whilst 18.18% preferred gray for the t-shirt colour and finally 36.36% of my audience prefer white for t-shirt colour. • What this says about my audience: what this says abut my audience is that they think that black would be the best colour to contrast my design against. • How will your product appeal to this audience: my product will appeal to this audience because I plan on having the colour of my t-shirt be black to allow the design to contrast against it allowing it to stand out more.

Audience research • Observation: an observation I can get from this questionnaire page is that 9.09% of my audience prefer a hat design for clothing merchandise whilst 36.36% of my audience prefer a shirt design for clothing merchandise with 54.55% of my audience prefer jumper design for clothing merchandise. • What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that most of my audience prefer to have a jumper design for gaming advertisements. • How will your product appeal to this audience: the way my product will appeal to this audience is that I plan on changing my idea of doing a shirt design instead do a jumper design as that what the vast majority want.

Audience research • Observation: the observation I found in this questioner page was that most response expect news and information regarding the topic the page was covering. • What this says about my audience: is that they want the fact and information on the game when it coming out what platform it releases on ect. • How will your product appeal to this audience: my product will appeal to this audience because I plan on using the answers I have gotten from this page and use them as a base on how to set my news page out.

Audience research • Observation: an observation I can get from this questionnaire page is that 72.73% of my audience are between the ages of 16-20 with 18.18% being between the ages of 20-24 with the other 9.09 being between the ages of older. • What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that most are teenagers to young adults with a few being older. • How will your product appeal to this audience: how my product will appeal to this audience is that the theme of my game is medieval fantasy which is popular among teenagers and young adults.

Interview 1  What do you expect from a t-shirt design based on a video game? • I expect a shirt design to have something that come from the game like a character or logo that can be found within the game.  How would you expect a news page covering a video game to be set out? • The way I expect a news page covering a video game is that have a brief introduction with the page talking about features or upcoming one with an interview with one of the developers.  What do you expect from a poster design related to a video game? • What I expect from a poster relating to a game is that the design reuses the cover art of the games case or an original design.  Would you prefer the art style of design being more cartoonish or realistic? • I prefer more cartoonish styles  When it come to mug designs used to promote a video game what do you expect to find? • When it come to a mug design promoting a video game, I expect it to use a design that can be found in the game or use and existing the design in a new format or design.

Interview 1 • Observation: from my observation of the interviewee is that they are a hard core game as they knew a lot of technical word when games are being develop such as assets which is a term used for and object or NPC in the game. • What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that they are very observant on how game are played and made and the merchandise used the advertise them and I need to make sure put everything that I was told on what they expect to find in every piece of advertisement merchandise. • How will your product appeal to this audience: the way I plan on appealing to my target audience is by creating a poster for my game which would also be the front cover of the games box but also make a symbol for one of the faction found in the game for a mug design and vice verse for the shirt design and for my news page I will have a brief introduction and some info on the game and an interview part with one of the developers.

Interview 2  What do you expect from a t-shirt design based on a video game? • From my experience I have found that most shirt designs based on video games usually have designs to do with what most player find in the game the shirt is advertising.  How would you expect a news page covering a video game to be set out? • I would expect the page to give me detail about the game like what to expect from the game and gameplay details.  What do you expect from a poster design related to a video game? • Usually they use the cover from the game.  Would you prefer the art style of design being more cartoonish or realistic. • I don’t really mind either.  When it come to mug designs used to promote a video game what do you expect to find. • I find that most mug designs have the character or symbol on them.

Interview 2 • Observation: what I can observe from this is that this person has basic information on what to expect from advertisement merchandise based on video games. • What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that some of them are passive buyer with some information on what go's into advertisement products and how they are set out. • How will your product appeal to this audience: my products will appeal to this audience as a plan on following what they expect for a news page covering a game with the mug, t-shirt and poster designs using design of assets found in the game the company is developing and using as an advertisement for themselves.

Interview 3  What do you expect from a t-shirt design based on a video game? • To have images of characters and objects found within the game.  How would you expect a news page covering a video game to be set out? • The way I would expect it to be set would be to have some information on the game like what to expect from game play or the story.  What do you expect from a poster design related to a video game? • Usually it consist of using the box cover design.  Would you prefer the art style of design being more cartoonish or realistic? • I prefer realistic.  When it come to mug designs used to promote a video game what do you expect to find? • Usually I have found that mug design based on video game usually have the main character on the mug in a pose.

Interview 3 • Observation: the observation I can get from this interview is that the interview knows the basic of what merchandise that is promoting a game looks like. • What this says about my audience:what this says about my audience is that I need to be thorough on how I design the poster mug and shirt design so that they know these product are advertising the game. • How will your product appeal to this audience: the way my product will appeal to this audience is because my design for mug, poster and shirt design will include thing that can be found within the game my made up company is making.

Interview 4  What do you expect from a t-shirt design based on a video game? • Usually the design consists of having a character on the front.  How would you expect a news page covering a video game to be set out? • Usually the page I have read consist of having interview with the designer and what people can expect from the game they are developing.  What do you expect from a poster design related to a video game? • Usually from what I have seen I consist of reusing the design of the front box cover.  Would you prefer the art style of design being more cartoonish or realistic? • I'm Morea less fine with both.  When it come to mug designs used to promote a video game what do you expect to find? • What I would expect from a mug design is to either have the design being a character in a pose or a symbol from a faction found in the game.

Interview 4 • Observation: the observation I can gather from this interview is that the interviewee had basic knowledge on what can be found in product advertisement for a game • What this says about my audience: what this says about my audience is that they have knowledge as to what can be found both in and on advertisements for video game. • How will your product appeal to this audience: the way my product will appeal to this audience is by following what I have learn such as having a character on the mug and shirt design and reusing the box cover art for the poster and to have my news page set up to where it has an interview with one of the developers of the game and what to expect from the game.

Interview 5 • Observation: the observation I have got from this is that the interviewee had variable knowledge of what go’s into making promotional products for video games. • What this says about my audience: this says to me that my audience is very knowledgeable of how promotional products are presented meaning I will need to be prices in how I design my promotional products. • How will your product appeal to this audience: my product will appeal to my audience because I will take what I have learned from these interviews and use them as a gudie on how to set up and design my products I am using as a promotional line for a made up company and the game they are developing.
