3. BIOSECURITY
Security from transmission of infectious
diseases & pests to a production unit is called
biosecurity.
Benefits of Biosecurity:
Helps to keep out diseases
Reduce the risks
Limits the spread of diseases
Improve overall health of the flock
Reduces mortality losses
Improves profitability

gate.
Preparation of vehicle and foot dips at main
gate.
Biosecurity line b/w shed area & residential
area should never be violated.
6. FOR ENTERING SHED AREA EVERYONE MUST FOLLOW!
Changing of shoe
Taking shower
Changing of clothes
Wearing gum shoes
At every house change your shoes, wash
your hands with disinfected solution.

sheds.
Establish a wash area away from the poultry
building.
8. VENTILATION
Ventilation means moving the right amount of
air at right time in such a way to manage
temperature, humidity & other environmental
factors for optimum bird performance.
Modes of Ventilation
Minimum Ventilation (Winter)
Transitional Ventilation (Modest Weather)
Maximum Ventilation (Summer)
9. STATIC PRESSURE
Static pressure is the difference between
inside & outside atmospheric pressure.
Unit
Water Column = Pascal
1WC = 250 Pascal
10. HUMIDITY
It is the measure of actual a amount of water
vapor in the air.
Relative Humidity:
It is a measure of the amount of water in the
air compared with the amount of water air
can held at current temperature.
It is expressed in %.
11. LIGHT SCHEDULE
