Construction – Main Task – comments and mark out of 31/40
Footage:
Good controlled use of camera, good variety of shots, shots in focus. Good use of
mise-en-scene (especially the use of locations and performance) and genre
conventions. Good use of car lights to link to lyrics, Good narrative established which
challenges gender conventions.
Editing:
Video is edited to beat with some good actions to beat. Footage and editing match
lyrics and song. End montage effective.
Overall:
Proficient video that meets the conventions for a dance video. Good attention to visuals
to maintain audience interest. Narrative works well and plays with audience
expectations.
Construction – Ancillary Task 1 (Digipak) comments and mark out of 7/10
Evidence of proficiency in the creative use of most of the technical skills.
Front cover is good with clear understanding of layout. Back cover shows awareness of
design conventions. Inside covers show some effective creativity but both could easily
be front covers.
Construction – Ancillary Task 1 (Poster) comments and mark out of 8/10
Evidence of proficiency in the creative use of most of the technical skills.
Clear design and great image with excellent manipulation shown. Good variety of font
with good awareness of layout and design.
Evaluation – Comments and mark out of 16/20
Question 1:
Video – very good detail on how video conforms/challenges chosen genre. Great detail
on how mise-en-scene used in video especially the use of props, performance and
location. Good reference to real products with images taken from real products to show
how product conforms to genre conventions. Video clips would have been better if they
had sound! Some detail on technical conventions used – ‘thought beats’.
Question 2:
PowToon –good detail on how the 3 products work together with the same theme
running through each product. Clear design throughout with key elements – colour,
iconography, ‘star’ and image – used in all products creating meaning and familiarity
with audience. Good detail on use of ‘star’. Links to real products to show good
understanding of task.
2. Question 3:
Prezi– good post with a range of feedback from TA. Good reflective comments with
strengths and weaknesses identified and ways to improve work in future. Good use of
primary research – feedback and interviews.
Question 4:
Emaze – very good succinct detail on technologies used and how effective they were
in all parts of production. Could have had more of a critical response. Good last slide
on how different technologies used together just for 1 post.
Overall:
Posts show good understanding of task with some research and information. Work
lacks good use of terminology or links to technical elements.
Good use of technology in evaluation.
Practical work is of a good standard and student has made good progress.
