Anthony Underwood received positive feedback and high marks for his coursework. His planning included good detail and analysis of stereotypes. His main video task showed excellence in technical skills like editing, camerawork, and direction that followed genre conventions and told a clear narrative. His digipak focused on the artist but unnecessarily included a love interest. His poster showed some understanding of conventions but was lacking some information. His evaluation answered all questions well using various media, explained creative decisions and linked to genre, but could have provided more details and reflection in some areas. He received an overall score of 82% and a Level 4 Grade A.

Name: Anthony Underwood
Planning – comments and mark out of 16/20
A good, confident piece of work with lots of great detail on various aspects of your
research and production. Some good analysis on stereotypes. Some good detail into
images used for various digipaks but at times can be too descriptive, but some good
analysis nonetheless.
Construction – Main Task – comments and mark out of 37/40
The candidate has shown excellence in the in the creative use of the technical skills.
Editing matches the beats well. Controlled use of the camera with a good variety of
shots. Mise en scene and performance follow genre conventions well and has a very
strong clear narrative. Strong direction of performers and excellent use of locations.
Construction – Ancillary Task 1 (Digipak) comments and mark out of 7/10
Digipak has been constructedwith good abilitywith good design links to chosen artist
and genre. Conventions clearly used with images of artist prominent. Good use of
fonts and images, plus additional information.Addition of ‘love interest’ from video is
unnecessary and confusing. Digipak should focus on the artist.Work is little more
than text added to images.
Construction – Ancillary Task 1 (Poster) comments and mark out of 7/10
Poster shows some understanding of conventions; with artist and artist name the
main focus. Some links to digipak with images used and font choice linked to video.
Release date should be included with some information on social media
added. Some more information needed – studio, key tracks, social media and where
to buy. Again, could be argued that advert is little more than text on an image.
Evaluation – Comments and mark out of 15/20
Question 1 – answered with great detail on decisions and construction using images
and SlideShare. Decisions have been explained using examples of own work with
strong links to genre conventions, audience, and MES. Also shows clear links to
narrative and rom-com conventions. Numerous examples to real word videos.
Question 2 – Some detail in answerusing Prezi - goodunderstanding of genre,
conventions and audience. Some detail as to how images are used to attract
audience. More could have been added on power of artist and how it is used
throughout all tasks. Clear links to real world examples.
Question 3 – answered using videos uploaded on YouTube and SlideShare.Good
reflection on audience feedback with some thought into how production could be
improved.More feedback could have been uploaded plus some images so reader is
aware of the scenes being discussed.Unknown if more than 3 people questioned, so
perhaps a bigger focus group would mean a stronger reflection of comments.
Question 4 – some good detail in answer using PowToon. Answer split into the
different technologies used in the various stages of production. Some detail into why
different technologieshelped and the impact they had on production. More detail
could have been added on reflection – could other tools have been used? Did you
use the best ones to evaluate your work?
Overall a good evaluation piece. All questions answered well with good
understanding of the questions. More detail needed to show full understanding. Work
at times too descriptive.
