  3. 3. ADVANCEDPORTFOLIOThe Advanced Portfolio is worth 100 marks.It is 50% of your A2, and 25% of your total A Level.You have a choice of 3 coursework briefs.You can complete the coursework individually or in groups ofup to 4.Your coursework brief must be approved by your teacher.
  4. 4. COURSEWORK BRIEFS1. A promotion package for the release of an album, toinclude a music promo video, a digipak for the album’srelease, and a magazine advertisement for the digipak.2. A promotion package for a new film, to include a trailer, afilm magazine front cover, featuring the film, and a poster forthe film.8. The first two pages of an original local newspaper, abillboard poster for the newspaper, and two hyperlinkedpages from the paper’s website.
  5. 5. COURSEWORK BRIEFSEach brief consists of a main task, and two ancillary tasks. Ifyou are working as a group you complete the main tasktogether, and the ancillary tasks individually.You are given an individual mark for each element of thecoursework.Read through the coursework briefs and think about whichone you intend to do.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA -PRODUCTIONConstruction – Moving ImageLevel 4 32-40 marksThe candidate is expected to demonstrate excellence in the creative useof most of the following technical skills:• shooting material appropriate to the task set; including controlled use of the camera, attention to framing, variety of shot sizes and close attention to mise en scene• editing so that meaning is apparent to the viewer and making selective and appropriate use of shot transitions, captions and other effects• recording and editing sound with images appropriately.Where a candidate has worked in a group, an excellent contribution toconstruction is evident.
