Matthew Wood received a C grade for his AS coursework with marks of 12/20 for planning, 37/60 for construction, and 13/20 for evaluation. The evaluation comments indicate that his answers showed a good understanding of the task, audience and genre, with some answers providing analytical detail, images, and research. Question 1:
Prezi – some detail on how conventions used in production, with some
understanding shown of how mise-en-scene used to set up narrative, and
conform/challenge genre codes. There is evidence of linking product to real products
to highlight argument. Good use of images.
Question 2:
GoAnimate – good detail on how representation and mise-en-scene used to
represent characters, with good links to audience expectations and how they can
relate to characters.
Use of theorists would have enhanced answer.
Question 3:
Word/SlideShare – good detail on distributor that you could choose with good detail
on reasons for choosing them.
Question 4 & 5:
PowerPoint/SlideShare – some good detail on typical audience for genre with some
detail on who they are with some evidence of real research.
Some detail on how audience was attracted using characters, with knowledge of
what needed to be put on place. Some audience feedback (needed more) included
showing if production goals had been met with some reflective comments.
Question 6:
Image– succinct detail on technologies used but no real sense of what was learnt.
Question 7:
Video – some nice detail on progress made with attention given to technical
elements. Clear understanding of progress made. The use of clips from both
products works well.
