Name: RICE Yasmin
Planning – comments and mark out of 16/20
For full comments please see the pre-production marks sheet
Construction – Main Task – comments and mark out of 28/40
There is evidence of proficiency in the creative use of most of the technical skills
Footage:
Good use of camera, with good variety of shots, mostly in focus. Good use of
framing. Some good use of mise-en-scene (especially the use of locations).
Editing:
Video is edited to beat with good actions to beat. Good use of transitions that link
with song and visuals. Footage has been edited well, footage has been edited to
black and white effectively.
Overall:
Good video which meets the conventions of the genre. Good attention to visuals to
maintain audience interest. Narrative is sometimes unclear, is he stalking her? Do
they know each other? Are they in a relationship?
Construction – Ancillary Task 1 (Digipak) comments and mark out of 9/10
Yasmin has demonstrated excellency in the design of her digipak for her artist.
There is clear awareness of the industry conventions such as small print and
barcode on the back cover. Excellent and varied photographs are used
appropriately to the task. Good use of photoshop skills, such as transparency on
the front cover. However more could have been done with the inside cover –
perhaps a message for the fans from the artist on the photo.
Construction – Ancillary Task 2 (Poster) comments and mark out of 8/10
Yasmin has demonstrated proficiency in the design of her poster for her artist.
There is some awareness of the industry conventions with the addition of the
record label logo. Although more industry conventions could have been added
such as social media icons. Good design and choice of font tie this in well with the
digipak.
Evaluation – Comments and mark out of 17/20
Question 1: Answered excellently using a ‘youtube’ video. You have understood
the question well and clearly state out how your video conforms, and in parts
challenges your chosen genre. Excellent explanation about why you made the
choices you did, backed up with well researched examples from real videos within
the genre. You could have added a backing track to the video to made it more
interesting whilst watching.
Question 2: Answered using ‘Powtoon’. You have explained well how your poster,
digipak and music video all link with the same themes, fonts and colours so that
your audience will see them as a package. Good use of more real music industry
examples in this answer. You have a lot of detail on each slide, these could have
been broken down more so there was less to read on each slide, as sometimes
the video moves on quicker than you are able to read – excellent detail though.
2. Question 3: Answered excellently using ‘Tagul’ to create a word cloud, ‘Survey
Monkey’ to conduct audience research and ‘Calameo’ to create a magazine
showing the results in a creative manner. An excellent range of questions were
asked to a focus group, and good written feedback received. Excellent analysis of
the results highlighting your strengths and weaknesses, well done.
Question 4: Answered using ‘Prezi’. Most technologies used have been itdentified
well with good explanation of how you used each technology. You could have
included the new online technologies you used to answer your evaluation (prezi,
slideshare, calameo, survey monkey, tagul, powtoon).
Overall an excellent body of work. You have explained your design choices well
and reflected on what went well and didn’t. Excellent use of communication and
excellent use of ICT.
