The document describes Leticia Lopes' experiments for a magazine cover and double page spread.
For the cover, Leticia found an image of model Barbara Palvin and enlarged it to fit the background. She used different fonts for the cover lines to make them readable. She added an exclusive tag in a colored box.
For the double page spread, Leticia matched the background color and extended the cover image. She used the same large font for the article title. She added lorem ipsum text, a quote box, and another image.
In her reflection, Leticia notes she may include different matching images and borders, as well as the Savoye LET font, in her final product.
2. Front Cover Process
• I researched on the internet some
model’s photoshoot and I found this
image of the model Barbara Palvin. To
enlarge the image I used the transform
tool and I hold the shift button so that
the image could fit perfectly with the
background. I found the masthead
font, (Fengardo Neue) on the website
1001 fonts and downloaded so that I
could edit the style of the font and
make match with the layout. Then I
started to add the cover lines in the
darkest parts of the image so that I
could continue using the white fonts. I
used the custom shape tool to create
the rounded rectangle and to make it
stand out more, I changed the colour
to a different colour that is matching
with the model’s coat. Then I used the
rectangle tool to create the small
rectangle that would have the buzz
word ‘Exclusive’.
3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– For this magazine cover I used two different fonts and
just changed the style of the font so that it could be a
bit different from each cover line. So I might use the
same idea of choose the fonts to make the cover
readable for the audience.
– In my final product I might include the box with the
‘exclusive’ because I think it will catch the audience’s
attention to read what is the main article from the
magazine and have an interest in buying
4. Double Page Process
• To create this double page spread I
tried to find a similar background
colour so that it could match with the
magazine cover. I selected a part of the
image to extend the background and
to make it looks like an actual double
page. In the title of the article, I used
the same font that I used in the cover
and make it bigger, this is helpful
because it could catch the audience’s
attention to read it. After that, I used
the InDesign to add the texts using the
type tool to make the texts into boxes
and used lorem ipsum so that it could
give me an idea about what I wanted
to my product to looks like. Then I
added a little type tool box to put the
sentence that the model said in the
interview, this helps the audience feel
curious to know what is the interview
about and why is she saying that.
Using the rectangle frame tool I could
add another image in the middle of
the texts.
5. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– I will include different images that will match with
the background and also add a border in the
images so that it could make it even more
interesting.
– I will also include the font that I found in the
website 1001, (Savoye LET).
