Main area of activity:
The main area that I will be working on in this project is graphic design and photography. I will be
taking my own images and using them to create a magazine/book that will be based on interior
design as I planned to develop in my critical context.
Rationale:
In the past years I have made different types of products and each one of them has gave me skills
that helps me today. In my past product I created a rotoscope of a character using the lasso tool in
Photoshop. It took me a while to get in the way that I wanted but at the end it was worth to have
tried. I also learned how to create different effects that would make the image interesting for the
viewer such as the glitch effect that I also used in the last project. I also was able to increase my
skills drawing as I always interested in illustration, I was actually able to show my skills in the client
project where I created a book about York using illustration that I created myself. For this project I
will ensure that I’m exploring even more so that I can be able to gain more skills during the
process, skills that will be helping me in the future. My previously product was a fanzine about
Dexter who is a serial killer, I really liked this project as I was able to create anything that I was
interested on and it allowed me to go further with my ideas. In this project it will help me develop
my idea to try something new, for example in this project I will be building a scale model which I’ve
never done before, it will be interesting to see how it will look like at the end. I remember how
unsure I was two years ago, I didn’t know much about Photoshop and the things that I could create
in the software, now I’m learning more every day and the things that will be building up this new
project.
Project Concept:
The concept of this project is to create a book that will be talking about interior design and different
types of design which I have recently researched about. The book will be appealing for students
and adults that are interested in interior design between the age range of 16 to 34. For this project
I wanted to develop new skills that would be interesting to achieve as it is my last year in college,
for that I will be creating and developing a scale model using simple materials such as cardboard
and card paper. For this I might need to research more about how to create the scale model so
that it could look like professional as I intent to build and for this I will be watching tutorials on
YouTube to get more information about that. The main goal of this project is to inform my audience
that interior design isn’t just about decorating, it is about making the space comfortable and safe
for the clients. I will be also creating illustrations as I feel like it would make the pages interesting
for the readers while reading the pages so that it could actually catch their attention. To make that I
will be using a graphic design and Photoshop to create all of my pages. I will also try gain more
skills from different forms of improve my work like create a nice background as I said that I would
improve in the past projects. I want to try something new in this project and for this I will be
researching in tutorials or websites to achieve this goal.

How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
To evaluate my product, I intent to print all of my work and create a survey so that the audience
could be able to express their thoughts about the product and what could be improved and how it
could be improved. Another way of evaluating my product is analysing existing products and
comparing them to my product. This will help me to see closely the aspects that should be
improved and the reasons why. For the existing product I will make sure that they are at the same
age range of my product as it might be appealing for a different age group. This analysis will help
me improve my future work and will lead me to be good at the area that I’m working on, I believe
that a good truth feedback will help me see the mistakes that I might have done that will be
improved in future projects in my career that it is just beginning. It will also help me to compare my
perspectives and the audience’s perspectives about the product to know what they were expecting
to see in this and future products.
