2. Process
• The first of the three
pages am going to make is
the front page.
• To start it of I used the
rectangle tool too make
the basic layout of the
page.
• The top banner I made
yellow to fit the chosen
scheme, but the second I
made blank but put a
black stroke of 10 around
it for a border.
3. Process
I took an image myself then
transferred it on to Photoshop
using the lasso tool too cut
around the two people the
resized it to fit in the borders.
This image fits the themes of
grunge and punk because each
of the people resemble one of
the genres.
4. Process
Using a separate Photoshop tab I
made my own win sticker. First I
used the circle tool making the
backdrop, the chose a font on
dafonts placing the swag and win
text, and the I got an image of
the Ramones logo of Google
saved it placed it then using the
magic wand cut parts out.
5. Process
My next step I started on the
top banner, which I chose too
be free items that come
inside the magazine.
I used dafont and the stroke
layer to make the text , the I
chose 5 band fitting the
theme and saved 5 images I
believe fit to be posters the
placed them resized them
and merged it all together
too fit on the bar.
6. Process
I then chose to add the chosen title
of the magazine which a got of
dafont and then using the stroke
tool added a white border so it
stand out.
I also added the headline for the
magazine doing the same process
of the title only using a different
font.
7. Process
• I then chose a sub heading
for the magazine but first
saved an image of the artist
its about and placed it,
then using the circle tool
made a empty circle too fit
the image inside, and using
the rubber cut around the
circle.
8. Process
• I then chose all the sub
headings for the page and
saved them all from
Dafont, I also made the bar
of x’s under the exclusive
by just typing x a lot.
• I then used the stroke
effect on each of them but
on the two over the image
I made yellow.
9. Process
• To finish off the page I
added the price and saved
an image of a bar code
from Google and placed it
then resized it.
• And that is the final
product.
10. Process
• I then chose to start the
design for my contents
page, I started this of with
the heading boxes, using
the shape tool I made the
yellow rectangle for the
title of the page and then
made smaller black ones
for each sub heading.
11. Process
• Then looking at examples of
contents pages from other
magazines I chose to place an
image.
• I saved an image of the Gorillaz
character 2-D, and using the
magic wand tool cut out the
backdrop. Then to make the
image stand out more and pop
out of the page I used to stroke
effect on the layer.
12. Process
• I decided to turn the image I
chose into a competition, using
two images of Google I saved
then placed then with the
magic wand cut them out.
• On the win sticker I used the
paint can so the colours would
match my scheme also I used
the stroke effect on it as well.
13. Process
• Using the web page Dafonts I
chose too use the Gorillaz font
and merged the two texts
Gorillaz and t-shirt.
• This was too show people
what there was too win and
also so the text matches the
advert.
14. Process
• Using the dafonts webpage
again I have chose two of the
fonts I had on my plan and
made the title for the
contents.
• I chose those fonts because
they each fit the theme of the
magazine of grunge and punk, I
also used the stroke tool again
this time making it white, so
the black stands out.
15. Process
• Next I chose the punk font
from dafonts and labeled each
of the sub headings as News
,Exclusive, Albums and Posters.
• I chose to make the text the
same yellow as the to bar, this
is so it matches the color
scheme of black and yellow.
16. Process
• Then using the grunge font
again I numbered each
heading I am adding to the
contents page.
• To choose the numbers and
how to number them I looked
at other magazines, and used
a similar pattern.
• I also used the stroke effect
again on all the numbers
making them black and yellow
again fitting the scheme.
17. Process
• I then had too think of two
pages for each subheading,
apart from the posters where I
chose 5 bands matching the five
posters on the front page.
• I made sure each page I wrote
fitted the themes and stayed
music related.
18. Process
• After making the main images and
text on the page I still had dead
space, so I chose to write a brief
advert and for a cartoon which fits
the theme and is eye catching.
• I used word to type it up the got
the images online and used the
magic wand tool and the stroke
effect.
• I made an arrow image to fit the
title of the cartoon, so it is clear
the text is about that.
19. Process
After the cartoon the bottom of the
magazine still had dead space, so
using the rectangle tool and dafonts I
made my own selling line matching
the scheme.
And to finish of the page I made a
web link for the page and placed it up
in the top right above the title box.
This is so people can find out more.
20. Process
• After I finished the
contents I started to make
my Review page.
• I started by reading some
reviews in other magazines,
then based on what I saw
used the shape tool to
make a basic idea of what's
where.
• I then got the title of the
page from dafonts and
placed it inside the shape
still sticking to the same
colour scheme.
21. Process
• I then used the chosen
bands logo next to the
title so people know
who the band are, I also
used dafont again to
place review under the
title, this is so people
know what there
reading.
22. Process
• I saved an image of
the internet then
placed it and used
the transformation
tool to resize it to
fit the page layout.
23. Process
Whilst watching VANT
perform I wrote down a few
notes then using these
typed up my review on
word.
I then moved the text over
to Photoshop resizing it to
fit and cutting it into
columns. I used the size tool
to turn the V into an initial
letter.
24. Process
• I saved an image of a 5
star rating and placed
it, then using the paint
can changed the
colours to make it into
4/5 stars.
• I then used the stroke
tool to make the last
star more visible.
25. Process
• To finish the review box
I added the bands web
page URL, saved there
newest album cover
and placed it.
• I also took the out now
and stream off the
bands own website.
26. Process
• To finally finish off the
page I saved 2 of the
bands other album covers
and placed them using
the magic wand tool to
cut the image alone out.
• I also used dafont to add
the number page and the
stroke tool so it matches
the scheme and the
numbers on the contents.
