2. Process
• I opened up a new Photoshop document with the dimensions of an A4 piece of paper.
• I found an image of a fishing magazine on google images that I could potentially recreate
and downloaded it onto my mac so I could keep looking back at it for reference.
• I found an I image of a swordfish jumping out of water and dragged it into Photoshop. I
then toggled with the size to make it fit the entire document.
• I found the same font used in the original image and downloaded it onto my computer
from da.fonts – I then edited the leading and spacing until the font was manipulated into
a similar shape as the title on the original image. I then put a stroke over the white text to
make It stand out.
• To make the animals ’nose’ go over the title, I used the cloning tool to elongate it
seamlessly.
• I then write up the text (subheadings and anchorage) into the appropriate places on the
page and size them up – each differently – to generate the right amount of focus on each
subject. I the. Added small stoked to make them all stand out,
• Finally, I added in a price and a barcode to make it look more realistic.
3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product?
– Using the spacing and leading element really adds a sense of professionalism into the
product, so I will definitely use this.
– Putting a very small stroke on the writing makes it stand out against the background and
not blend in to anything behind it.
– I will use anchorages and subheading to make the cover have more magazine style
distictions.
