3. Research
• I think one strength of my research was that I watched video reviews
of the game that I had chosen to review, therefore I think this was a
strength because it gave me a good insight into how a review should
be structured and presented. Although I believe that one of my
weaknesses was that I didn’t watch a podcast and only stuck with
videos. I believe that if I had listened to a podcast it will have
influenced my final product and possibly could have made It better.
4. Planning
• I think one of the strengths of my planning was that I structured what
I would talk about in my review, for example I broke down my review
into categories and then wrote what specific points I would talk about
in that category. One weakness of my planning I think was that I
wrote out certain parts in paragraphs instead of bullet pointing. I
think would have improved my script because I would have been able
to have short and sweet points instead of long paragraphs.
5. Time Management
• I think I managed my time really well with this unit, for example I
have managed to finish and hand in everything on time to the best of
my ability. Although I believe that with more time I would have been
able to fix certain issues with my video if I had given myself more
time, for example some of the clips in my video where out of sync.
With more I believe I would have been able to sync up the audio with
the video clips.
6. Technical Qualities
• There are many similarities and
differences between my product
and the existing product. For
example both of the products are
reviews of the same game, both
include footage of the game and an
audio recording talking about the
person’s view of the game. One
difference in the videos I can see is
that in the existing product they
have used text in certain areas in
the video to show the hosts name
and to show what his is talking
about and to show that there will
be spoilers in the video. I did not
do this in my product.
7. Aural Qualities
• I believe that my work sounds good, I think I spoke clear and loud
enough into the recorder to be heard clearly. I think I was creative
with my script as I tried to keep it entertaining and not bland and
boring. I also tried to emphasise my voice in certain parts so it didn’t
sound like I was just droning on. Although I think one weakness with
my audio is that you can hear people talking in the background of my
audio, not very loudly but it’s still noticeable. To improve on this I
could try to find a different location to record where there are less
people around so there will be no background noises.
8. Audience Appeal
• I believe I have appealed to my target audience because I set out to
make a video/audio review of the game Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
My target audience are fans of the game series Uncharted, therefore
I knew that this video/audio review would appeal to them. I think
that instead of just specific bits being appealing to my audience that
the whole video/audio could be, as I did not include spoilers of the
game in my review, plenty of footage to show fans that might be
interested in playing the game, and my honest review.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I like that you used footage of the game to go with your audio.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
– I think your audio was a little quite and there was some
background noise which distracted me a little.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked that you used gameplay with your audio and I thought your
review was detailed.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
– I noticed that on the video the audio was out of sync with the
characters mouth moving, this put me off the video. Also I think
your voice could have been more energetic.
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I like the review I thought it was detailed and your voice was
energetic and not boring.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
– The noises in the background of your audio distracted me slightly
as well as the video being out of sync.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
– I agree with the background noise on my audio being distracting
and the video being out of sync is also quite annoying. I also agree
that I could have been a little more energetic in certain parts of
my audio.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I do not disagree with any points made on my feedback.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
When reading my feedback I can see what changes and improvements I
need to make to my product.
• The first change I need to make to my product is to record my audio
in a much quieter place as the background noises distracted the
listener.
• The second change needed to improve my product is that I need to
speak a little louder and more energetic to keep the listener
interested
• The third and final improvement I need to make to my product is to
fix the video being out of sync as it is distracting to the viewer.
I believe that if I made all of these improvements it would make my
product a lot better and more interesting to the listener.
