3. I started by drawing the background on the
background layer and used a new layer for my pupils
and another layer for my mouth as that is the only
parts of the character to move. Using these
different layers to create the animation.
4. I then hid layers to create my animation and shot
the facial expressions move but also added in two
dark clouds which floated in to create a change in
the weather.
5. Finally I changed my facial expression to being
happy leaving my eyes in the same position as I
was looking at the clouds as it started to rain and
wrote the caption
“I love rain” because when my heads gone crazy
the rain cheers me up.
6. This is the timeline that I used to set
my frames for and do the speeds. I
had to experiment with the timings
because it took a while to work out
which timing worked best.
These are the layers I
used to complete my
animation. By using these
different layers it created
an animation as I’d made
the parts I wanted to be
animated and named
them so it was easier to
locate the layers.
Overall I feel my
animation was a good
attempt and now I can
improve my skills.
9. I did the castle without a template and made it my
background layer. I added a character and changed his stance
on a new layer to give the illusion of running. Adding the
beast and fire on a different layer made it easier to move
them and animate them.
In this second frame you see the beast has moved and the
fireball has missed the character who is now clearly in a
running position and it becomes clear he is being chased by
the beast and his fire balls.
10. Sadly the beast strikes him with the fire and I have shown
this by placing the fireball layer over the top of the character
running.
And of course the inevitable happens and the character is
burning on the floor beside the beast. I did this by creating a
new layer of the character and adding the flames.
11. What more do you need in a Halloween game than a
zombiefied Gravestone! This is just to fully understand the
character has died on a ghostly night. I did this all on one
layer as I didn’t need to animate it.
Writing pixel words was also a hassle and the design I
wanted was very tricky to do in Pixel form so I had to
improvise and tried to create a spooky last frame.
12. This is the timeline used for my frames and you can see that the last 3 frames are a little slower
than the other, that is because there’s things to take in and read. The timing son the frames
create a good fast paced animation which is what I was trying to portray
13. Naming the layers was easier to differ from each layer making the
creation process faster as I didn’t have to spend as long searching
for the right layers. Using arrow keys and my mouse I managed to
get it straight and structured.
15. This has helped me see that I can do the
skills for an adver game I just need the
confidence and the layouts to be better and I
have also learnt that Naming layers can really
boost the performance!
Overall this task is helpful and I feel its really
helped my skills.
