EXPERIMENT 1
My experiment is going to focus on taking about 6 still images then
putting them in a sequence as if they were moving. This will help
me with my
movement sequences for my real project.
I plan on doing this by setting up a camera on a tripod and filming a
walk
cycle of a Pipe-cleaner person I made the putting all the images into
a
premier pro document and adding sound.

REFLECTION
What elements of your experiment will you include in your Final product?
I did this to practice my smoothness and to see how many images it would take. This
will help me with my movement sequences for my real project. I do not plan on
using pipe-cleaners to make my models I have already made my models and they
are proper dolls made of wood and felt based on drawings I have done. They have a
similar structure as they are wire based so choosing pipe cleaners helped me
choose the positions pipe cleaners can do compared to my actual dolls. The use of
my animation is to show a nice story so through the movements, sound and script
and having smooth images makes it look less blocky and unreal. The smoothness
of the images and animation show the audience how much the animator enjoyed
the piece and how much time and effort they put into it and it all makes a rounded
piece of work.
Going forward from “Piper” I have learnt that wire can be manipulated but compared to
my actual dolls they have restrictive movements as they are made of wire and wood
in specific joints etc.
Taking this into consideration I will be sure to mention this in my plans for my project
The kit used was a camera and tripod set up on a desk at college using the plain table
colour as a background so it would be focused on the characters movements
instead of a busy background. The tripod was balanced and in the same place so
the animation was the same camera level and area as the camera not moving is key
to a good animation.
EXPERIMENT 2
I plan on taking a few short sequences to experiment on movement,
lighting,
Setting and locations. I will be sure to see how they all come out and see
if
There needs to be any changes. I do not own a tripod so I was resting my
camera on a step ladder but when it comes to the real thing I will be sure
to
have a tripod to make sure it stays in one place because even the
slightest
knock will throw the whole animation.

ANIMATION EXPERIMENT 2
PROCESS
REFLECTION
I made this experiment of real clips close to what I want to do for my final project.
These images
will be re-done and the reflection will show the improvements to make on doing this
experiment.
Because this was part of my final product I decided not to make a story board for my
Experiments but definitely will for the real one because then I have a structure to
follow and not just an idea in my head. When filming my experiment I considered
the
weather and the light as the light will keep changing as it was filmed outside. I will
take into
consideration that the outside weather will keep changing and I am considering
filming my
animation inside with a real backgrounds whether they are real photos that I have
taken or actual
plants and logs and on turf.
I also experimented with the timings but the way my animation photos were taken if
its too slow it
would look glitchy but if its too fast it would look silly so I need to find a balance
between the two.
