1. Story-telling Reflection
My Story is called ‘A Magical Adventure’By:Kaopoon
The Planning Process:
I chose to write a story in theFantasy &Adventure genre because I think it’s fun and
magical and something that is special. Adventure is can make you happy, like the day we
went to camping. The most interesting thing about my main character, Sparkle, is that
he can use his horn to fight the witch. He is strong. We chose to the set the story in a
kingdom and a magical forest because it is beautiful and it is like a magical land. While
making my plot diagram, I found it enjoyable to make the plotbecause it was easy to
write all of the parts. My best idea during planning was the setting (the kingdom and the
magical forest).While planning this story I learned how to write flashback and sizzling
starts.
The Drafting & Revising Processes:
It was difficult to write my story draft because the first part was hard to write. I didn’t
know how to start.I am proud of my story because it has great pictures and a good plot.
During the Writing Workshops, I learned how to make fun and beautiful pictures. I
became better at drawing and coloring. While talking to MrCrawford I learned how to
make a fun great story by using more detail and using great words. If I wrote it again, I
would try to improve my story by coloring more darkly and making sure there are no
white spaces in the pictures. I would also speak more loudly when we record.
Digital Production and Editing:
I am proud of my movie because it has great pictures and great writing.I found it
enjoyable to create the storyboard because drawing is easy to me and I am good at it.
My role was to be the illustrator.I worked especially hard at drawing the witch and
unicorn and coloring neatly.The thing I am most happy with is the way I drew the
unicorn. While making the movie, I learned many new technology skills in iMovie. I
became much better at using dialogue, sizzling starts, flash-backs and drawing pictures.
If I made the movie again, I would try to include more flashbacks.
Collaboration:
Sometimes, I enjoyed group work because it was fun even though sometimes we were
tired. Other times, I didn’t enjoy group work because I had no idea what will happen
next or how we would write the climax.While working in a group, I learned how to make
a great story. During the unit, our group became better at making a great story by
everybody giving many ideas and details.
What else?
During this story-telling unit I was especially happy when I finished our story. After this
unit, I will continue to improve my stories so that they are morefun and more great to
read.
