1. Story-telling Reflection
My Story is called ‘The Village’s Hero.’
The Planning Phase:
I chose to write a fantasy genre because fantasy has magic in it andit’sinteresting to put
magic in the story. The most interesting thing about my main character,Genjiro, is that he
has one magic pet in my story. I enjoyed creating the setting because I like to draw very
much.While making my plot diagram, I found it difficult to make the resoulution part because
it is hard think of how to slove the problem.My best idea during planning was to use a
frozen stautue, which melted by magic becausethis solved the problem.
While planning this story I learned that work is hard but, life goes on.
The Drafting Phase:
It was difficult to write my story because it took many days to finish.I am proud of my story
because I finished the movie with my group.During the Writing Workshops, I became better
at making dialogue.If I wrote it again, I would improve my story by making more dialogue
because it would be more interesting.
The Digital Phase:
I am proud of my movie because it took many days and we finished!
I found it difficult to create the storyboard because it’s hard to make ideas for the story.My
role was to be the script writer.I worked especially hard at script writing.The thing I am
most happy with is the setting because I liked the drawing and creating processes.While
making the movie, I learned many new technology skills in iMovie. I became much better at
zooming and panning.
If I made the movie again, I would try to make the picture better than they are now.
Collaboration:
Sometimes, I enjoyed group work because we agreed together.
Other times, I didn’t enjoy group work because we didn’t work as a team. When our
teamwork was weak, we worked by ourselves. While working in a group, I learnedwhen we
need to make group decisions and take time to build teamwork. During the unit, our group
became better at making movies.
What else?
During this story-telling unit I especially enjoyed creating the setting of a fantasy planet.
After this unit, I might continue to make books in my home. I can be an author &they can
also be illustrated by Grace.
