Teachers comments
1. Swift – some analysis using narrative theorists – Brannigan, Barthes, Propp, Todorov – with links to
how narrative is used in video.
No new analysis
2. Some very good detail on early influences and key artists working today. Good info on audience and
clothes. Could have had more detail on early pioneers of the genre – Goldie, LTJ Bukem
Grooverider….
Digipak – Some analysis with some attempt to establish how genre and audience are identified
using images and font. Some detail on how image is linked to album title.
Advert - Missing
Practise Digipak – Good work with clear links to genre.
Practise Video – Pop – some attempt to use conventions for pop – lip synch. Could have used more
conventions – dance routine, costume change
Practise Advert – good design with use of conventions found in genre. Good links to social media.
Addition of light is confusing.
3. Good use of avatars to show TA, with some good detail. Good detail on how clothes are part of this
genre. Could have used examples of other interests they may have – TV, cinema, games, and
literature.
4. Initial ideas taken from lyrics plus lyrics annotated. Is this for the old song?
5. Initial ideas and song choices discussed.
Permission requested using Twitter and permission given.
Good breakdown of what happens in each part of song with timings included.
Images in Location show some practise shots from video.
6. Good detail with key technical info included.
7. Lots of great detail on camera shot and movement plus location and action. But it is difficult to
decipher – redraft. Not done.
8. Plan included but could have used a key so we know what is camera and what the surrounding area
is. Plus some indication of where we are would be good. More detail still needed.
9. Good detail on where, how and why you have chosen specific locations.
10. Detail added with links to genre and narrative. Could have better info – what brands? How do they
link to genre?
11. Some detail added on props – good info on importance of time and how clocks are to be used.
12. Some detail on chosen actors (not characters), and why they would be appropriate. Needs more
info other than we are friends and it’s easier to communicate. Images needed. Added.
13. Equipment needed included but could have more detail. Why use a steadycam and not just
handheld? What good qualities have the camera? Better detail now added.
2. 14. Good detail on shooting schedule but not the whole production. Please add all aspects of
production. Post-Prod and re-shoot detail added.
Artists and song titles need capital letters! Check your spelling before you upload. Read your work so it
makes sense.
