Evaluation – Comments and mark out of 13/20
Question 1: Answered using adobe illustrator. This answer shows proficient
understanding of the forms and conventions used in the production. The use of the
grid (part 2) to show how you split your clips up is a good addition, however this
would have benefited from then comparing this to real media texts to back up your
points. Good application of Goodwin’s theory.
Question 2: Answered using a prezi. This answer shows proficient understanding
of the combination of main product and ancillary texts. Good break down and
analysis on design decisions throughout. However, more examples of real media
texts were needed. How do your products compare to what is in the market?
Question 3: Answered using word and slideshare. This answer shows proficient
understanding of the significance of audience feedback. Class feedback has been
reflected on well. Own research and data collected for music video in the form of a
small focus group of different ages. This could have been developed much further
with quotes from individuals, rather than generalising responses.
Question 4: Answered using powerpoint and slideshare. This answer shows
proficient understanding of the role and use of new media in various stages of the
production. All stages have been covered well.
Overall there is proficient skill in the use of digital technology and ICT in the
evaluation. There is proficient skill in choice of form in which to present the
evaluation, although more variety could have been used. All work has been
communicated well.
