This document presents a systematic review and management guideline regarding the removal of cervical collars in obtunded adult blunt trauma patients, addressing the effectiveness of using CT scans with or without adjunct imaging. It recommends conditional cervical collar removal after a negative high-quality c-spine CT scan, based on the high negative predictive value of CT imaging, despite the low evidence quality. The document highlights the risks associated with continued collar use and the potential for unnecessary procedures with adjunct imaging.
