Vice-President Possible In The National Honor Society
I am writing in reference to the Vice President position available in the National Honor Society. I have
a very strong interest in the Vice President position and I believe that I am qualified for the job. With
experience working in leadership positions in clubs at the collegiate school and outside of school, I
have a diverse background with much to offer. It is my understanding that you are deluged with
resumes for this position. Mine is one more, but I do have experience that is hard to come by. As my
resume indicates, I have worked in leadership positions locally and internationally. I have worked hard
to strengthen and develop the leadership skills needed to succeed. My experience is broad from
competing in speech tournaments to teaching

High School Student Analysis
Being a high school student has never been easy. There are expectations to receive exceptional grades,
be involved in many activities, and keep a part time job. Surviving in high school requires many skills
and qualities to make your time easier. Work ethic, perseverance, patience, and responsibility, are
characteristics I feel I possess as a high school student and future college student. Grades in high
school hold exceptional value. Scholarship committees and colleges search for students who have a
high grade point average. I am proud to say that I have kept my GPA above average, which for
females is 3.10 (Average High School). Not only have my grades been kept at an exceptional level in
my high school classes, but my college classes also. Throughout my high school education, I have
taken as many college classes as possible. While taking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have worked at Breadeaux Pizza for the past six years. I have learned what it means to work hard, by
putting in long hours and late nights. On average, I work twenty hours a week. While working, my

Breadeaux I have learned what it means to work hard and how to work with others. In working so
much, I have also learned to persevere, to keep moving. Working at Breadeaux is not always fun or
enjoyable, but I still have a job to do and am expected to show up. Along with working at Breadeaux, I

Historiographical Discussion Of The Duel Between Burr And...
A Historiographical Discussion of the Duel Between Aaron Burr and
The duel between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton holds a significant relevance in
American history and should be examined within the context of early American culture and politics.
The recent historiography of the incident provides us with a complex, evolving web of conflicting
interpretations. Since the day of this tragic duel, contemporaries and historians have puzzled over why
these two prominent American statesmen confronted each other on the Plains of Weehawken. What
circumstances or events could have motivated two of the most brilliant political minds in America to
endanger their lives and reputations by taking aim at each other on that dismal day? ... Show more

J. Lee and Conalee Levine Schneidman argued it was not Burr who was the instrument, but rather
Hamilton himself or rather Hamilton s distorted perception of Burr as his evil self that promulgated
the duel.3 This article entitled Suicide or Murder? The Burr Hamilton Duel, published in a 1980
edition of the Journal of Psychohistory, represents the first example of
psycho history to be discussed in this paper. The authors presented Aaron Burr as introverted and self
absorbed, a man forever compared to the saintliness of his namesake. His father was a reverend and
President of the College of New Jersey and his mother was the daughter of
Jonathan Edwards. Therefore, the Schneidmans argued, Burr had quite the reputation to uphold,

An Analysis Of Shakespeare s Henry IV
Centralizing a political theme of this whole saga is the consolidation of the country under the authority
of the monarch, fighting with feudal lords, enemies and the deceitful behaviors displayed.
Shakespeare tried to convey truthfully what is proclaimed to be war, and the personalities of others,
but a significant part of the latter consisted polemical writings exposed the machinations of
reactionary feudal lords and kings to chant. Consequently, this primarily explains the fact of what
Shakespeare idealized in Henry IV. Shakespeare described deviations from historical truth, but they
were not conscious of Shakespeare. An exception is the Shakespeare s desire to reduce the duration, to
satiate his events. Reading Henry IV it has endured the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Aristotle And Aristotle s Philosophy
Both Plato and Aristotle were prominent philosophers during their time and even today remain some
of the most well known philosophers ever. Aristotle was a student of Plato s and Plato s influence was
noticeable throughout Aristotle s work. Though Aristotle believed and would later teach a lot of
Platonic philosophy, that did not mean that he agreed with everything that Plato taught. One thing that
Aristotle would critique about Plato s teaching was his idea of what he called Forms and their role in
the world. Although both Aristotle and Plato believed that something s form helped classify what it is,
I found Aristotle s understanding of form to be more convincing because he believed that Forms
consisted within the one world in which we all already live as opposed to Plato who thought that the
world of Forms was separate from the world of everything else. Both men make very compelling
points to back up their beliefs, but I just felt Aristotle s theory was more believable.
For Plato, the sense of the forms was about the understanding of something higher. Plato believed that,
when one beholds the Forms, one exercises Pure Reason, and one is like the liberated prisoner [from
the allegory of the cave] who gazed upon the trees and mountains in the sunlit upper world (Palmer
67). Palmer simplified Plato s conception of the forms in saying that, Forms are the eternal truths that
are the source of all Reality (Palmer 67). One example that Plato used to show this was by

A Streetcar Named Desire Illusion Vs Reality Analysis
One s desire for a better sense of self perception has the power to convince themselves that living in a
state of illusions is more fulfilling than facing the reality of their problems. When an individual is
faced with the idea that others see them as a negative character, as per human nature, the individual
will turn to their own self perception to get a better opinion of themselves and, completely ignore their
own ability to see the differences between illusion and reality. As the result of being placed in an
unfamiliar environment, surrounded by conflicts that one cannot understand due to human nature, it is
possible for an individual to re live their own imagination and past successes. In order for one to
realize and clear the confusion, they must revisit their happy place, also known as illusions.

Summary Of Breashear s Success At The IMAX Team
The leader is one who mobilizes others toward a goal shared by leaders and followers. ... Leaders,
followers and goals make up the three equally necessary supports for leadership. Gary Wills, Certain
Trumpets: The Call of Leaders As leaders of the Adventure Consultant and Mountain Madness
expeditions to Mt. Everest, Rob Hall and Scott Fischer made a number of poor decisions that led to
the tragedy in 1996. However, the ignorance to the turnaround time, during the ascent to the peak, had
sealed the unfortunate fates of the climbers that day. The turnaround time of 2 p.m., (worst case
scenario) was when the climbers should start their descent from the peak. The climbers ignored this

Numerous differences explain the success of the IMAX team. First, Breashears and his team were
very focused on their shared goal of making an IMAX movie. This shared goal enforced stronger
collaboration between the team. In comparison, Hall and Fischer s expeditions originated from
individualistic goals. The leaders wanted to grow the reputation of the company, and each client
wanted to reach the summit. Second, Breashears carefully picked 10 paid experts in his team to
accomplish the goal. He mentions There wasn t a prima donna in the bunch. None of us harboured any
illusions about who the real diva was. Everest would take centre stage. Hall and Fischer had novice
climbers who had little to no experience climbing such high altitudes. Third, and more importantly,
Breashears was much better prepared for the expedition than Hall or Fischer. He is known to have
looked into numerous possible scenarios that the IMAX expedition might run into. Moreover, he was
prepared for two attempts to the summit by stashing a carefully calculated number of extra bottles of
oxygen. Whereas expeditions led by Hall and Fischer carried sufficient oxygen only for one trip to the

Many Americans do not see the effects it could have on African Americans down the road. Living in
poverty will continue for decades if the only jobs available for us are low income jobs. We always
have to work harder to get to where the whites are, it may take us a year to have something so simple
that they can get in a day. Hate will continue and poor schooling will continue. We have faith in our
children and we want the best of the best for them just as anyone else. Taking hand me down books, or
even using materials that are not legible, are not good learning materials. I want to be able to say that I
made a difference for those who are coming in this world a while from now to make sure they have it
better than I did. I want to fight for these rights, even if I dont have the chance to live free. I know my
works will benefit for one of my fellow brothers or sisters.

should be treated equally no matter what your skin color is. We all bleed the same blood and we all
have different outer appearances. Why can t we get together and become one? And happy. It is not just

Impact Of The Globalization Process Of Mattel
Nowadays, globalization has a great impact on companies, their internationalization process and how
they are seen in the different markets where they have presence. Globalization may affect the
company in almost every aspect.
When starting an internationalization process, companies must take into account that they will have to
adapt their products and marketing process in order to get the attention of customers in the new
market.

with Takara, a Japanese toy Company.
By doing this partnership the doll was modified in order to help the Japanese girls to be related to the
doll. When changes were done the Takara Barbie was create, this doll have smaller chest and legs, the
blue eyes where change for brown eyes. The revenues Mattel got by doing this changes were much
higher than the cost of it. In 1991 the business relation between Takara and Mattel came to an end,
because of this the Company decide to try the exportation of classic Barbie again, having a successful
result. This occur mainly because the Japanese market was ready to have a more sophisticated version
of the doll and the attitude Japan have of western goods had

Biological Theorists
What do biological theorists contribute to the discussion of learning and development?
Does the evidence they present support one position more than the other concerning whether
development influences learning or the other way around? Why?
Theorist John Tooby and Leda Cosmides contributions to the biological concepts of learning and
development argue in Evolutionary Psychology: A Primer that the goal of research in evolutionary
psychology is to discover and understand the design of the human mind. Evolutionary psychology is
an approach to psychology, in which knowledge and principles from evolutionary biology are put to

Power Corrupts In 1984 By George Orwell
Imagine living in a world with a dictator. You have numerous rules set in place where you can t do
certain things that may be normal to us in common life . You re tired of these rules, and start going
against them, this is 1984. In the story 1984 by George Orwell the theme is, power corrupts. Winston
hated Big Brother (the ruler of Oceania). He wanted everything about him to be gone, including his
followers, his rules, and the Inner Party in general. Winston was brought to Room 101 (a room used to
torture whoever using his or her greatest fear), and was forced to change his mind about Big Brother,
and ended up loving him. A claim you can make from 1984 by George Orwell, is that power corrupts,
or being strong willed, or determined can withstand strong power. In the text it states, He loved Big
Brother. This is at the end of the text showing it took Winston some time to really get controlled. He
had hated Big Brother with all of his power, and even broke laws or rules because he didn t like them!
He has stated many times how he despises Big Brother, as shown, A sort of vapid eagerness flitted
across Winston s face at the mention of Big Brother. This proves even when someone just brings up
the name Big Brother he gets upset, or has negative feelings towards him, Big Brother is someone that
Winston hates even when the smallest mention of him. This is changed at the end of the story because
of torture from O Brien, someone who Winston trusted. O brien got close to Winston

Analysis Of The Genocidal Killer In The Mirror
In the article, The Genocidal Killer in the Mirror, Crispin Sartwell focuses more on power and is
concerned with evil. Sartwell states that whether you believe you are among the evil people or not,
you are deeply malicious or a moral hero or just profoundly self deluded. He continues to point out the
timeline of all genocidal events that took place over 500 years, however, he doesn t list all of the
genocidal events during the current timeline. Theodore Dalrymple, the writer of Just Do What the
Pilot Tells You , argues that some people think a determined opposition to authority is principled and
romantic . However, Dalrymple maintains that in his experience as a doctor, people who do not obey
authority most of the time have unsuccessful relationships and a tumultuous life. He also emphasizes
this by asking a lady on an airplane if she believed in authority, she states that she disagrees and that
authority is restraining. He then challenges her by asking if it would be all right if he went to the pilot
and asked if he could fly the plane. The lady refuses and states that he does not have the training to fly
an aircraft. At this point, Dalrymple predicaments that we gave the pilot authority to fly the aircraft
through his training.
In The Genocidal Killer in the Mirror, Sartwell states that no problem is as profound and no evil as
prevalent as state power, but that furthermore, we all have the decisions to be deeply evil and that no
one should consider oneself too intelligent, humane, or pure. State power isn t evil because we need
laws and regulations to maintain civilization. Sometimes, authority feels as if they are above the laws
because of the status in society. Sartwell then asks, Are you a moral hero? He then points at Difference
in authority. This would be the state, the experts under normal situations. He also points out, Do you
believe what the authorities tell you just because they are authorities? Although it is possible to see the
authorities side before the person decides to follow their orders, however, this could lead to chaos. In
contrast, Just Do What the Pilot Tells You primarily focuses on the danger contained in blind
obedience. Dalrymple looks at Milgram s experiment

Executive Compensation Package, Stock Options
Executive compensation packages have been used both successfully and unsuccessfully to solve the
principal agent problem facing corporations these days. In this study, we focus on a specific element
of an executive compensation package, stock options. The use of stock options as a form of senior
executive compensation has been studied extensively to be a testament to the success of it s ability to
realign executive with shareholder interests. However, as the study reveals, prior to the Sarbanes
Oxley Act of 2002, there were many problems with the usage of stock options within corporations that
had a weak corporate governance structure. Problems included executive s incentives to focus on short
run profit, take on risky business strategies, and manipulations (legal and illegal) to fulfill executive
self interests. While it is difficult to measure the true effect of stock option s influence on executive
performance and behaviors, we see that the problems with stock option usage far outweigh the
benefits of stock options prior to the implementation of the Sarbanes Oxley Act.
In the ideal corporate governance system, the definition of a good senior management executive is one
that takes into consideration shareholders needs above his own. They work diligently to run the
corporation both on a day to day basis and to ensure its success in the long run. However, there are
often many incentives that disalign the interests between the shareholders (principal) and executives

African American Education History
The Declaration of Independence declared that all men were created equally. So why were people not
treated like it? We can conclude that they were not treated the same because African Americans faced
slavery, segregation, and other things that proved they were treated differently from Caucasians. We
had the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth amendment put into place to make the life of an African
American easier. However, just because there were amendments to help them, does not mean people
listened. In 1909 the National Association for the Advancement of Colored people was founded. This
was one of the biggest organizations made to help African Americans. The people working for the

What if it never went to the courts? What if they voted against it again and again? The world would be
a much different place today. African Americans and whites would still probably be separated. No one
would know any better to not put them together. There would most likely be a lot more fighting in the
world than there is today. And you would not see caucasians and African Americans being friends like
they are today. It is weird to imagine what the world would be like without this court case happening.
But because of it, the world has become a much better place, and it helped people become a lot more
friendly. Because of this court case, African Americans were able to get the same education as whites.
Thus increasing their knowledge. Before Brown v. Board of Education, one and forty African
Americans would get a college degree. Now, one in five African Americans will graduate college. Not
only did schools become unsegregated, but so did the work place. Both African Americans and
caucasians had the equal opportunity to work wherever the pleased, no matter what color skin tone
they were. However, even with all the better things in the world, there are still problems with equality.
According to reports, whites are finishing college at a much faster rate than African Americans. And
because of this, median income for African American families still remains only about three fifths that
for whites. This is not much better than it was

Brokeback Mountain Stereotypes
Cowboys define America. From rounding up cattle to hair raising gunfight duels, the Wild West has
become one of the most recognized symbols of what it means to be a true grit American. But what
happens when you mix this staunch, western culture with what traditional America believes to be its
toughest opponent: homosexuality? In Brokeback Mountain, Jack and Ennis embody the epitome of
the predictable American man: tough, masculine, and bold. As we expect them to saddle up and charm
all the pretty cow belles, the two men end up exploring their passion for one another and ultimately
fall in love. This tragic love story of two all american cowboys completely redefines the all too

Pathology and Epidemiology of Anterior Poliomyelitis Essay
Anterior Poliomyelitis is a highly infectious disease that attacks the anterior horn of the spinal cord.
Poliomyelitis translates to grey spinal matter inflammation. Polio is caused by a picorna virus that
enters the body through mucus membranes and then multiplies in the throat and being an acidophile,
can survive well in the stomach and small intestine. When viremia occurs and persists, the virus will
penetrate the capillary wall. Once this happens, it enters the central nervous system and begins
attacking motor neurons. Polio is tissue specific and will only multiply and attack neurons. this strict

form of paralysis. This is very rare and occurs in less than 2% of infections. While paralysis of the
legs is most common, it can affect the arms, or worse, spread to the trunk. When the legs are affected,

The Use Of Hypnosis And Its Effects On The Brain
Hypnosis has proven to involve much activity in the brain. It is much more than a person obeying,
there are underlying mechanisms in the brain that are still being studied today.
Evidence
Hypnosis has been used for a variety of reasons. Two categories it is used a lot in are addiction and
phobias. With the use of hypnosis, a person can connect the addiction to something extremely
distasteful which in turn makes the person not want to participate in the action anymore. Or hypnotism
can change the mindset of a person with an extreme fear so that they no longer associate that fear with
the object or action. Three studies were reviewed, a 2007 study on smoking cessation, a 2006 study on
dental phobia, and a 2007 study on needle phobia. A study by Carmody, Duncan, Simon, Solkowitz,
Huggins, Lee, and Delucchi (2007) researched different hypnosis interventions and then chose the one
they believed would be the most helpful and compared it to behavioral counseling. Both of the
treatments also had nicotine patches. The intervention was geared to heighten the commitment to stop
smoking as well as prevention. The hypnosis session included suggestion and guided imagery. Their
study consisted of 265 men and women that smoked at least 10 cigarettes a day and wanted to quit.
137 of those participants received hypnosis while 128 went through behavioral counseling.
The hypnosis treatment group received two hour long face to face sessions provided by a public health
educator that was

Crossing Boundaries Research Paper
Crossing boundaries is needed but the full potential is never achieved. The majority of people needs to
cross boundaries in several points of their life to reach their potential, but no one ever reaches their
full potential, however, crossing boundaries is an effective step toward reaching the full potential if it s
ever to be reached yet crossing boundaries is essential for achieving a goal or a dream. The full
potential is when consummating the whole list of goals in life and this list is never accomplished
because no one ever stops adding to their list, anyhow , if they stop, their life would be a plain,
straight road with no ups and downs, no directions, no houses or buildings, no sessions, just a plain,

Memories are a humans s small time machines for traveling to their past at anytime. The relation
found in Li s story also in Villawood Mum s about how they crossed boundaries physically but they
kept holding on to their memories, their memories were the only bridge to their old lives. Crossing a
specific boundary may not be just physical, it is also metaphorically and that s has a giant impact on
the psychological state. So when Li left his family and moved on to start his career in the Ballet
Academy, he spent the first years in the school in remembrance of his old life and he didn t move
forward because he was stuck between his past and present. His family was always there with him and
he mentioned that in this line: I couldn t stop thinking of my family back home. ( p.118), his memories
lived within him and the evidence is the acknowledgment of many details, stories and photos that are
found in his autobiography. Photos are the best way to translate a moment and keep it alive for ever. Li
had all his pictures kept and they are shown in his autography, and this can be related to the Villawood
Mums, they ve kept all their old photos and that s clearly shown in the film, when Maria and Zahoor
were talking about their old lives. The technique used is symbolism , because they used the images to
present the importances of their memories that they had kept. So crossing the boundaries

Bronx Zoo Research Paper
The Bronx Zoo: Welcome To The Jungle Where in the world can you see grizzly bears wrestling in the
water, giraffes walking through the grass, and penguins playing in the snow, all in a span of a few
minutes? How can you experience incredible and exotic animals without traveling across the world?
Lucky for us New Yorkers, we can experience the jungle without even leaving the area! Welcome to
the Bronx Zoo.
The Bronx Zoo was founded on November 8, 1899, by the Boone and Crockett Club which was later
renamed the Wildlife Conservation Society. On opening day the zoo boasted a whopping 843 animals

hospital was built. This new hospital was over ten times the size of the first one. Since medicine and
technology have changed in major ways over the years, the new animal hospital also has been updated

A Simple Barcoding System Has Changed Inventory Management...
Introduction Throughout history, a simple barcoding system has changed inventory management
forever. As the United States Postal Service required barcoding to make the mail sorting process more
efficient, grocery stores had a huge need to manage the quantities of thousands of items. As inventory
management evolved, the barcoding spread throughout supply chain management aiding in less waste,
storage costs, process tracking throughout the manufacturing processes, and helped improve customer
satisfaction. This short paper will go over how businesses have used barcoding, the history of
barcoding and some of the newer technologies like Radio Frequency Identification and Global
Positioning Systems.

For the purpose of this paper, it will steer away from most of the historical facts and stick with how
they tracked letters and packages. ( The history of the United States Postal Service, n.d.) After a
drastic increased demand for the postal services, the Post Office was looking towards technologies to
help it automate processes with postal sorters, address readers and an advanced coding system for the
times. By the 1970 s, the gained confidence in the service, demands increased even more. Again the
USPS had to reach out to the latest and greatest technologies. It was early in the 1980 s when the
USPS first purchased and used its first computer driven, single line Optical Character Reader (OCR)
which converted all of the data into a barcode. This became a huge money saver as forward post
offices only had to have a less expensive barcode sorting system. ( The history of the United States
Postal Service, n.d.) As technology aided in the efficiencies of the scanning processes, the USPS
started giving discounts to letters and packages that were pre barcoded. Having the letters pre
barcoded allowed for faster scanning, less manpower, and allowed the letters to bypass the OCR
scanners. By the year 2000, 59% of all letters were pre barcoded, a drastic increase of only 7% being
pre barcoded in 1990. By 2004, as technologies continued to improve and were able to now process

Rape And Sexual Assault In Game Of Thrones
The use of rape and sexual assault as a dramatic plot device in contemporary film and television can
turn out to be either highly successful or highly problematic for those involved and their viewers.
In many television shows of the 2010 s, most notably American Horror Story, these unspeakable acts
seem to employed as a form of light entertainment. A plot device, if you will. With seemingly no
direct link to the story being told or effect on what follows after. Similarly, Game of Thrones has
suffered mass criticism since it s premier back in 2011. However, the writers of GOT still vehemently
defend their choice of representation of rape and sexual assault crimes, stating that it is, and was, a
part of everyday life back in medieval times.
Comparing these small screen representations to those on the silver screen, it could be surmised that
rape and sexual assault in film is a more thought out process. Television writers are expected to turn
out numerous storylines throughout series and never seem to dwell on the one plotline for too long.
This very well may be why its representations of rape and sexual assault are so heavily criticised, as

Quotes For Flowers For Algernon
Intelligence or Long Life Today evolution of human intelligence has advanced us to the stage where
most of us are too smart to invent new gods but are reluctant to give up the old ones (Ruth Hurmence
Green). Flowers for Algernon is about a man named Charlie Gordon, he is 37, and has a low IQ of 68.
He will go through an operation that has never been done before. It is supposed to generate Charlie to
three times smarter. A while after he had undergone the operation his mind starts to deteriorate. He
was able to predict that his mind will deteriorate like Algernon s due to a series of experiments he did.
Charlie is better off doing this experiment. Charlie is better of going through the experiment be
because he can now see things clearly for the first time, he has the chance to experience what it is like
to be smart, and he knows how he truly feels. Initially, Charlie was not aware of what was going on
around him. He thought that everyone liked him and was his friend. He also was not very intelligent,
which is why he was oblivious to what was happening around him. After Charlie had the surgery he
was able to now notice that the people he worked with at the factory were not actually his friends. He
found out April 20, I never knew that Joe and Frank and the others liked to have me around all the
time to make fun of me (33 34). Now that he got the procedure he can now tell that his so called
friends, just liked him because they could make fun of him. Another example of him noticing things
for the first time is when the doctors were arguing Charlie felt that he know saw them for the first
time. He realizes about their personal life, how one has a wife that wants him to be successful and the
other wants some of the glory to. Once again, due to his intelligence, he notices more about the people
he interacts with almost every day. He noticed things that he has never realized, let alone thought
about. Additionally, Charlie now has a chance to be smart. This operation allows Charlie s IQ to triple.
Since Mrs.Kinnian suggested Charlie he got a chance to experience true intelligence, and love. After
the operation, he was able to comprehend more than the doctors, who were before smarter than him.

American Connector Company Analysis
Executive SummaryQuality and efficiency is the key to American Connector Company (ACC)

plant and is going to enter the US market with factories that will be efficient. ACC is in trouble and
needs to drastically change the way they do business if they want to survive.
Looking and emulating DJC is the first step American Connector needs to follow. American

Through this high quality and lack of flawed parts they have gained a good reputation, which was
something that was normally reserved for American companies. The continuous inspections,
replacement or worn parts and the high level of maintenance of the equipment allowed the factory to
run smoothly. The focus on fixing problems before they happened has led to fewer problems
encountered on the production line.
3) Links to Customers DJC maintained a close link with its customer and took the customer input to
adjust the connectors to meet customer needs. This allowed DJC to be proactive and stay ahead of
changing trends within the computer industry. The simplified designs they created required fewer raw
materials increasing efficiency and reducing costs.
4) Trade Secrets DJC reverse engineered many of its early connectors from designs from other
companies. This sped up the design process and allowed them to quickly enter the market. They did
not want the same thing to happen to them so they had contracts written up with suppliers and created
an internal design division that did their work in house. This allowed DJC to keep their innovative
ideas to themselves, maintaining their advantage over the competition.
5) Plant Layout DJC focused on the best way to produce connectors. Their plant layout and simplified
design process allowed for an efficient operation, utilizing the factory space to its fullest. The

However, with cybercrime, they could be scapegoats and may be innocent. It s not clear which
company did the hacking. The company can either stand with the two stakeholders at the expense of
supposed virtues, or it can turn them in to be investigated further even though the information leading
to them is insufficient.
Effects of conflict of interest to the organization
This situation may seem totally unrelated but in a great way affects the case at hand. The decisions
made by CyberTech will in a way not be genuine due to the influence of the presence of the suspects
in another case with them. Let s take an example that the OPM breach suspects were found guilty in
the case which subsequently led to termination of their job and charging by the court. This would lead
them not being able to facilitate the other case they have with CyberTech. As a result, it would
suppress them financially or even if arrested they would not be able to represent themselves in order to
proceed with the other mentioned case. This is a conflict of interest which comes with lame outcomes
of a bad image to the organization. As well known, a bad image for an organization greatly affects
how it operates and hence how it relates to its customers. The basic factor that prospective clients look
upon before proposing to work with a certain organization is the image of the organization

The Framework Popper Is An Intellectual Framework
The framework Popper is talking about is an intellectual framework. A neutral question is without
bias, informative leading, and isn t influenced by outside sources to receive the truest and most neutral
response; however, I define a neutral question as to be neutral in order to truth without a hidden
meaning within its structure, the opposite would be a leading question that encourages a desired
answer. So, there is no such thing as a neutral observation or perceiving something as neutral. The
statement suggests that areas of knowing lead us in a certain direction. By asking a question, one seeks
knowledge beyond a neutral way. What is the effect of bias on asking questions? Is prior knowledge of
something necessary before asking a question? Can we ask a question without context? How do areas
of knowing affect the neutrality of a question? The areas of knowing that will be looked at will be
natural science and history as scientists and historians find answers by beginning with questions and
observations. Several assumptions can be made such as if neutral questions are impossible then
everything carries bias. In order to ask a question and answer it, there can be no neutrality. All
questions are leading questions. It is impossible and possible to have a neutral question; this essay will
discuss the extent to which the statement is valid in natural science and history. There is no such thing
as a neutral question. Everything in science has a goal or ending that is trying to

The Consequences Of Globalization
The Effects of Globalization Globalization is communication among the people, businesses, and
governments of different countries. It has caused massive changes to the world because of all the
downsides that is has. Globalization is currently a controversial issue because some people think it s a
good thing, but some people think it s a bad thing. It means something different to everyone. The
consequences of globalization have been mostly bad because lower skilled workers got lower wages,
had to work more, and had poor working conditions. Also, it causes environmental devastation and
health issues. Although globalization can be bad, it can also be good because everybody involved can
be developed even if their countries are losing jobs because of the developing world. The
consequences of globalization have been mostly bad because lower skilled workers had to work more,
got lower wages, and worked in poor conditions. According to The True Cost film, the garment
workers in Bangladesh make $2 per day. This shows that the workers there are paid very little even
though they work in poor conditions. Also, according to The True Cost film, garment workers in
Cambodia took the streets to demand a wage of at least $160. This also shows that workers are paid
very little and clearly want a higher minimum wage because of it. Also according to The True Cost

Sir Thomas More s Utopia and Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince reflect the ideals of the Renaissance.
Their reflections of the Renaissance are similar; however, their representations of the Renaissance also
have distinct differences. The Renaissance or rebirth was a cultural movement that accompanied the
passage of Europe from the Middle Ages to modern times. Niccolo Machiavelli was an Italian civic

the values of the Renaissance to his political treatise, The Prince. Sir Thomas was an English lawyer,

Renaissance through their promotion of education, humanism, and reform. There are, nevertheless,
differences in how The Prince and Utopia reflect the Renaissance. Both Sir Thomas More s Utopia
and Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince reflect the ideals of the Renaissance; however, they diverge in
their reflections through their views towards realism, idealism, morality, religion, and rhetoric which
demonstrates that the Renaissance was a diverse cultural movement in early modern Europe. A variety

`` Gulliver s Travels `` By Jonathan Swift
By definition, dystopian texts are texts which take place in a futuristic, imagined universe in which
oppressive societal control and the illusion of a perfect society are maintained through corporate,
bureaucratic, technological, moral, or totalitarian control. Throughout the last two to three hundred
years, dystopian themes have been present in major, widely circulated texts, with the earliest listed
dystopian text, Jonathan Swift s Gulliver s Travels , dating back to 1726. And, while the 1800 s saw a

This was a main theme from George Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four , in which the main character,
Winston (and presumably, all other inhabitants of Oceania), lives in a home equipped with a telescreen
(what we, today, would liken a television or computer monitor, equipped with a webcam). Through the
telescreen, messages could be displayed to the resident, but everything happening inside the home
could also be seen and heard by Big Brother . To someone for whom the concept of Big Brother is
foreign (as is the case with the Big Brother housemates or with Winston in the book Nineteen Eighty
Four), having this telescreen or any other source through which you can be monitored without your
knowledge or consent, can be very unsettling.
The novel Nineteen Eighty Four really gave people something to think about. What might the world
turn into, if dictators or tyrannical governments rose up and took hold of society? Could it ever be
possible that the government might have such a hold on their citizens that thoughts could be
controlled, and lies could be twisted into believeable truths? These are all questions that Orwell s
Nineteen Eighty Four raised.
The impact that Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four has had on the literary genre of dystopian texts is

Food In Ancient China
In modern day China, 45 billion pairs of chopsticks are used each year. Ever since a long, long time
ago, China has been using the same tools to prepare their foods. In addition, their cooking recipes are
mostly affected by what can be grown in the area they lived in. All of their techniques and flavors are
combined into one single dish. Chinese cuisine has been full of special flavors and techniques for
many years.
Cooking To the Present Day
Ancient Chinese cooking has been full of special flavors and techniques for a long time. The article
Voyages in World History states, Shang Dynasty still used many of the same tools as today s cooks.
The Chinese consider cooking as more of a tradition because they use the same items for cooking
today and they haven t changed much. The article also states, The division between starch and dishes
made from cut up meat and vegetables continue to the present day. Even today, people are making
food the same way because what is in the food is still divided today. Northern China could only eat
vegetables and meat for a long time because it was too cold to grow rice, and Southern China could
grow rice.To summerize, China hasn t changed much of what they eat and what they use to make their
food for a long time.

The Debate Over Nozick s Experiment Thought Machine
I. Introduction
In what may seem a harsh generalization, I would like to begin by considering the likelihood that a
Christian would commit suicide? On first inclination we know that they would not because they
perceive suicide to be a sin. Even with a less nuanced version we know that in spite of the belief of
heaven and a perfect afterlife there has not been a wide scale mass extinction of Christians any time
lately. In asking a person this it is more than likely that they would likely they were being played a
joke on. My point is to say, in a sense, this is similar to why we see time and time again philosophers
in debate over Nozick s experiment thought machine. We see philosophers like Nozick advocate that a
life plugged into the machine is not in fact a life at all, and that if people were to be given the option to
stay plugged into this machine that provided them endless bliss they still would not take it. If the
question of why would a person not chose to plug into the experience machine is not clear, I once
again bring up the idea of a Christian committing suicide, which may people may find incredulous.
Why is it that it would be incredulous for a Christian to chose to live another life of more happiness,
yet it would not be so for someone to plug into Nozick s own experience thought machine?
If Nozick s experience machine ultimately offers happiness through a chosen series of experiences and
the gist/selling point of heaven is that there everything you would want

A Historiographical Discussion of the Duel Between Aaron Burr and The duel between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton holds a significant relevance in American history and should be examined within the context of early American culture and politics. The recent historiography of the incident provides us with a complex, evolving web of conflicting interpretations. Since the day of this tragic duel, contemporaries and historians have puzzled over why these two prominent American statesmen confronted each other on the Plains of Weehawken. What circumstances or events could have motivated two of the most brilliant political minds in America to endanger their lives and reputations by taking aim at each other on that dismal day? ... The authors presented Aaron Burr as introverted and self absorbed, a man forever compared to the saintliness of his namesake. His father was a reverend and President of the College of New Jersey and his mother was the daughter of Jonathan Edwards. An Analysis Of Shakespeare s Henry IV Centralizing a political theme of this whole saga is the consolidation of the country under the authority of the monarch, fighting with feudal lords, enemies and the deceitful behaviors displayed. Shakespeare tried to convey truthfully what is proclaimed to be war, and the personalities of others, but a significant part of the latter consisted polemical writings exposed the machinations of reactionary feudal lords and kings to chant. • 6. Aristotle And Aristotle s Philosophy Both Plato and Aristotle were prominent philosophers during their time and even today remain some of the most well known philosophers ever. Aristotle was a student of Plato s and Plato s influence was noticeable throughout Aristotle s work. Though Aristotle believed and would later teach a lot of Platonic philosophy, that did not mean that he agreed with everything that Plato taught. One thing that Aristotle would critique about Plato s teaching was his idea of what he called Forms and their role in the world. Although both Aristotle and Plato believed that something s form helped classify what it is, I found Aristotle s understanding of form to be more convincing because he believed that Forms consisted within the one world in which we all already live as opposed to Plato who thought that the world of Forms was separate from the world of everything else. Both men make very compelling points to back up their beliefs, but I just felt Aristotle s theory was more believable. For Plato, the sense of the forms was about the understanding of something higher. Plato believed that, when one beholds the Forms, one exercises Pure Reason, and one is like the liberated prisoner [from the allegory of the cave] who gazed upon the trees and mountains in the sunlit upper world (Palmer 67). Palmer simplified Plato s conception of the forms in saying that, Forms are the eternal truths that are the source of all Reality (Palmer 67). One example that Plato used to show this was by ... You have numerous rules set in place where you can t do certain things that may be normal to us in common life . You re tired of these rules, and start going against them, this is 1984. In the story 1984 by George Orwell the theme is, power corrupts. Winston hated Big Brother (the ruler of Oceania). He wanted everything about him to be gone, including his followers, his rules, and the Inner Party in general. Winston was brought to Room 101 (a room used to torture whoever using his or her greatest fear), and was forced to change his mind about Big Brother, and ended up loving him. A claim you can make from 1984 by George Orwell, is that power corrupts, or being strong willed, or determined can withstand strong power. In the text it states, He loved Big Brother. This is at the end of the text showing it took Winston some time to really get controlled. He had hated Big Brother with all of his power, and even broke laws or rules because he didn t like them! He has stated many times how he despises Big Brother, as shown, A sort of vapid eagerness flitted across Winston s face at the mention of Big Brother. This proves even when someone just brings up the name Big Brother he gets upset, or has negative feelings towards him, Big Brother is someone that Winston hates even when the smallest mention of him. • 15. Analysis Of The Genocidal Killer In The Mirror In the article, The Genocidal Killer in the Mirror, Crispin Sartwell focuses more on power and is concerned with evil. Sartwell states that whether you believe you are among the evil people or not, you are deeply malicious or a moral hero or just profoundly self deluded. He continues to point out the timeline of all genocidal events that took place over 500 years, however, he doesn t list all of the genocidal events during the current timeline. Theodore Dalrymple, the writer of Just Do What the Pilot Tells You , argues that some people think a determined opposition to authority is principled and romantic . However, Dalrymple maintains that in his experience as a doctor, people who do not obey authority most of the time have unsuccessful relationships and a tumultuous life. He also emphasizes this by asking a lady on an airplane if she believed in authority, she states that she disagrees and that authority is restraining. He then challenges her by asking if it would be all right if he went to the pilot and asked if he could fly the plane. The lady refuses and states that he does not have the training to fly an aircraft. At this point, Dalrymple predicaments that we gave the pilot authority to fly the aircraft through his training. In The Genocidal Killer in the Mirror, Sartwell states that no problem is as profound and no evil as prevalent as state power, but that furthermore, we all have the decisions to be deeply evil and that no one should consider oneself too intelligent, humane, or pure. State power isn t evil because we need laws and regulations to maintain civilization. Sometimes, authority feels as if they are above the laws because of the status in society. Sartwell then asks, Are you a moral hero? He then points at Difference in authority. This would be the state, the experts under normal situations. He also points out, Do you believe what the authorities tell you just because they are authorities? Although it is possible to see the authorities side before the person decides to follow their orders, however, this could lead to chaos. In contrast, Just Do What the Pilot Tells You primarily focuses on the danger contained in blind obedience. Dalrymple looks at Milgram s experiment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Executive Compensation Package, Stock Options Executive compensation packages have been used both successfully and unsuccessfully to solve the principal agent problem facing corporations these days. In this study, we focus on a specific element of an executive compensation package, stock options. The use of stock options as a form of senior executive compensation has been studied extensively to be a testament to the success of it s ability to realign executive with shareholder interests. However, as the study reveals, prior to the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002, there were many problems with the usage of stock options within corporations that had a weak corporate governance structure. Problems included executive s incentives to focus on short run profit, take on risky business strategies, and manipulations (legal and illegal) to fulfill executive self interests. While it is difficult to measure the true effect of stock option s influence on executive performance and behaviors, we see that the problems with stock option usage far outweigh the benefits of stock options prior to the implementation of the Sarbanes Oxley Act. In the ideal corporate governance system, the definition of a good senior management executive is one that takes into consideration shareholders needs above his own. They work diligently to run the corporation both on a day to day basis and to ensure its success in the long run. However, with cybercrime, they could be scapegoats and may be innocent. It s not clear which company did the hacking. The company can either stand with the two stakeholders at the expense of supposed virtues, or it can turn them in to be investigated further even though the information leading to them is insufficient. Effects of conflict of interest to the organization This situation may seem totally unrelated but in a great way affects the case at hand. The decisions made by CyberTech will in a way not be genuine due to the influence of the presence of the suspects in another case with them. Let s take an example that the OPM breach suspects were found guilty in the case which subsequently led to termination of their job and charging by the court. This would lead them not being able to facilitate the other case they have with CyberTech. As a result, it would suppress them financially or even if arrested they would not be able to represent themselves in order to proceed with the other mentioned case. This is a conflict of interest which comes with lame outcomes of a bad image to the organization. As well known, a bad image for an organization greatly affects how it operates and hence how it relates to its customers. The basic factor that prospective clients look upon before proposing to work with a certain organization is the image of the organization (Thompson, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Framework Popper Is An Intellectual Framework The framework Popper is talking about is an intellectual framework. A neutral question is without bias, informative leading, and isn t influenced by outside sources to receive the truest and most neutral response; however, I define a neutral question as to be neutral in order to truth without a hidden meaning within its structure, the opposite would be a leading question that encourages a desired answer. So, there is no such thing as a neutral observation or perceiving something as neutral. The statement suggests that areas of knowing lead us in a certain direction. By asking a question, one seeks knowledge beyond a neutral way. What is the effect of bias on asking questions? Is prior knowledge of something necessary before asking a question? Can we ask a question without context? How do areas of knowing affect the neutrality of a question? The areas of knowing that will be looked at will be natural science and history as scientists and historians find answers by beginning with questions and observations. Several assumptions can be made such as if neutral questions are impossible then everything carries bias. In order to ask a question and answer it, there can be no neutrality. All questions are leading questions. It is impossible and possible to have a neutral question; this essay will discuss the extent to which the statement is valid in natural science and history. It has caused massive changes to the world because of all the downsides that is has. Globalization is currently a controversial issue because some people think it s a good thing, but some people think it s a bad thing. It means something different to everyone. The consequences of globalization have been mostly bad because lower skilled workers got lower wages, had to work more, and had poor working conditions. Also, it causes environmental devastation and health issues. Although globalization can be bad, it can also be good because everybody involved can be developed even if their countries are losing jobs because of the developing world. The consequences of globalization have been mostly bad because lower skilled workers had to work more, got lower wages, and worked in poor conditions. According to The True Cost film, the garment workers in Bangladesh make $2 per day. This shows that the workers there are paid very little even though they work in poor conditions. Also, according to The True Cost film, garment workers in Cambodia took the streets to demand a wage of at least $160. As their names indicate, quantitative studies are about quantities and qualitative studies are about qualities. Quantitative research proposes to solve research questions by providing statistics or percentages while qualitative will offer explanations, concepts, on the how or why of the problems. • 37. Sir Thomas More s Utopia And Niccolo Machiavelli s The... Sir Thomas More s Utopia and Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince reflect the ideals of the Renaissance. Their reflections of the Renaissance are similar; however, their representations of the Renaissance also have distinct differences. The Renaissance or rebirth was a cultural movement that accompanied the passage of Europe from the Middle Ages to modern times. Niccolo Machiavelli was an Italian civic humanist, historian, diplomat, philosopher, politician, and writer during the Renaissance. He applied the values of the Renaissance to his political treatise, The Prince. Sir Thomas was an English lawyer, philosopher, statesman, and humanist during the Renaissance. He employed the ideals of the Renaissance to his Latin dialogue, Utopia. Both The Prince and Utopia reflect the ideals of the Renaissance through their promotion of education, humanism, and reform. There are, nevertheless, differences in how The Prince and Utopia reflect the Renaissance. Both Sir Thomas More s Utopia and Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince reflect the ideals of the Renaissance; however, they diverge in their reflections through their views towards realism, idealism, morality, religion, and rhetoric which demonstrates that the Renaissance was a diverse cultural movement in early modern Europe. Throughout the last two to three hundred years, dystopian themes have been present in major, widely circulated texts, with the earliest listed dystopian text, Jonathan Swift s Gulliver s Travels , dating back to 1726. And, while the 1800 s saw a good influx of dystopian texts, the first to catch my eye, and really grab hold of my attention wasn t published until 1949: George Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four . This was a main theme from George Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four , in which the main character, Winston (and presumably, all other inhabitants of Oceania), lives in a home equipped with a telescreen (what we, today, would liken a television or computer monitor, equipped with a webcam). Through the telescreen, messages could be displayed to the resident, but everything happening inside the home could also be seen and heard by Big Brother . To someone for whom the concept of Big Brother is foreign (as is the case with the Big Brother housemates or with Winston in the book Nineteen Eighty Four), having this telescreen or any other source through which you can be monitored without your knowledge or consent, can be very unsettling. The novel Nineteen Eighty Four really gave people something to think about. What might the world turn into, if dictators or tyrannical governments rose up and took hold of society? Could it ever be possible that the government might have such a hold on their citizens that thoughts could be controlled, and lies could be twisted into believeable truths? These are all questions that Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four raised. The impact that Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four has had on the literary genre of dystopian texts is undoubtable. The novel paved the way for many other s like it. As a text, Orwell s Nineteen Eighty Four followed a set of rules for what a dystopian text needed to be. It included an ... • 44. The Debate Over Nozick s Experiment Thought Machine I. Introduction In what may seem a harsh generalization, I would like to begin by considering the likelihood that a Christian would commit suicide? On first inclination we know that they would not because they perceive suicide to be a sin. Even with a less nuanced version we know that in spite of the belief of heaven and a perfect afterlife there has not been a wide scale mass extinction of Christians any time lately. In asking a person this it is more than likely that they would likely they were being played a joke on. My point is to say, in a sense, this is similar to why we see time and time again philosophers in debate over Nozick s experiment thought machine. We see philosophers like Nozick advocate that a life plugged into the machine is not in fact a life at all, and that if people were to be given the option to stay plugged into this machine that provided them endless bliss they still would not take it. If the question of why would a person not chose to plug into the experience machine is not clear, I once again bring up the idea of a Christian committing suicide, which may people may find incredulous. Why is it that it would be incredulous for a Christian to chose to live another life of more happiness, yet it would not be so for someone to plug into Nozick s own experience thought machine? If Nozick s experience machine ultimately offers happiness through a chosen series of experiences and the gist/selling point of heaven is that there everything you would want ...
