Golf Course Research Paper
Did you ever think that a gentleman s game could relate so much to a seventeen year old girls life?
Turns out you can relate anything if you try hard enough. Every day is a new day, similar to each hole
and golf course is different. You never know what the condition of the golf course will be and you don
t know what the weather might be while your playing. One of the biggest things I follow when I m
playing golf is to take one shot at a time just like the saying take one day at a time.
Imagine stepping up to the first tee of a golf course that you have never played before, you tend to get
up on the tee box looking to see where would be the best place to hit your tee shot. This reminds me of
starting freshmen year at a new school and looking around the cafeteria to see ... Show more content

As my senior year approaches just like my thoughts on the final hole I contemplated which college I
would like to attend. I wanted a college that was going to give me the best opportunities after and
during my college experience. I also knew that I needed a coach that would push me. I wanted a coach
and a golf team that would be there to help me grow and work hard to achieve not only my personal
goals but helps the team achieve theirs. On that last hole of the golf game getting ready for your final
putt of the round you take a chance and chose the line that you want to putt your ball on. When I
discovered Colorado State University and Coach Annie I felt I just chose the right line for myself. As
the final ball rolls toward the hole and coach Annie selected me as one of her new recruits I knew not
only that I had the right speed and the right line I knew I found the right college. I continue to stare
down the line and watch as my putt slowly falls in the hole, with my hands up I knew that I picked the
right line and have also made the best decision on wanting to become a Ram for Colorado State

Aristotle Voluntary Action Analysis
Aristotle continues to speak about virtue by bringing up actions that are voluntary and involuntary. He
then says that involuntary actions are done through ignorance or compulsion which would starts
outside the person. There are many situations in which both voluntary and involuntary actions can be
combined. He brings up an example of someone holding a family hostage and giving a person a
decision to do something bad. This person chooses, but also wants to do it to save their family. Since
the person wants to choose the best outcome, this is a voluntary action. This would be a noble act, but
it would make us do something bad. He also says that we should not do some noble things because it
may not be worth it. It is very hard to find where we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He says that children and animals are not in this category because they do not have the rational
thought. People would guess that choice relates to desire, but desire is in pleasure and pain where
choice is not. Choice is something that is within us and does not look at the end goals. Choice is how
we want to achieve something and it is not an opinion. Therefore, Aristotle says choice is definitely
voluntary. He then shifts to speaking that choice could be about deliberation. He says that there are
certain things we do not deliberate about, but the things we do deliberate about are the things that can
affect us. This deliberation can be seen more in the arts because it is more abstract than sciences.
When there is something unknown, we need to deliberate about it. Also, we look for the means to get
something rather than looking at the end goals. Deliberation helps us choose so it is part of choice and
desire. He then moves to talk about wishing. This is about how someone wants something. This has to
do with the means rather than the ends. Aristotle says that if we are moral, we want things that are
good, but if we are not moral, we would wish for something that seems to be good, but really is not.
Pleasure takes people of the moral track and they wish for something that seems good, rather than
what they should wish

Why The Collapse Of Patron And Broker
The Collapse of Patron and Broker
Throughout the 19th century, American government on the local, state, and federal level all utilized
patronage to amass political support in exchange for jobs and distributive goods. However, as the
century came to an end, there was a shift from this tradition to one that slowly transformed
bureaucracy from a spoils system to one of merit. There are many competing theories on why this
civil service reform emerged the way it did in the United States. Different test subjects were
investigated how and why merit penetrated the bureaucracy concluded that competition among
political parties when the majority began to see wavering support, but a more compelling view saw it
as a means for politicians to lighten their workload.
In his paper outlining the functions of political parties and bureaucracies throughout American history,
Martin Shefter uses the Progressive Era to illustrate how the decline of political party power leads to
bureaucratic reform. The party realignment of 1896 culminated in weak political parties that often had
one party in charge at a regional level. Consequently, any minority faction was useless in challenging
majority party policies. Unable to make a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to keep their large bureaucracies efficient. When controlled for lame duck congressmen, there is not a
significant difference in the way in which they voted, muddying Ting s argument that reform is the
result of such representatives who have an interest in making sure their replacement cannot exercise
too much power. They were able to determine this by creating dummy variables that corresponded to
the first three years of a president s term and measured the ability of a lame duck president to blanket

A Call For Justice And Unity
A Call for Justice and Unity
For many heroes like Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, and Frederick Douglas that fought
against racism and inequality in the United States, Malcolm X, a prominent and a real Muslim
minister, also during his life has influenced, urged and advocated for the black patriotism and right
and freedom for the American black people. He achieved this through a message he passed at a
meeting that was being sponsored by the active labor forum in New York. In his speech, he addressed
several concerns and issues such as integration, black Americans reunite to prevent white oppressors,
black Americans having control over the American soil, and as well as solving economic issues.
Malcolm X speech, until today, has impacted and influenced many black communities. On the other
hand, many others heavily condemned him as a racist individual due to some negative connotations he
used during his speech. Throughout Malcolm x speech, he was convincing, made good use of rhetoric
techniques and Pathos to get the attention of his audience. He had the skills and the ability to arouse
the emotions of his audience, therefore, in his speech, it seemed to most of his audience and
supporters were enraptured by his story.
It was so obvious that Malcolm x was a man of integrity and a true nationalist. Everything he did was
based on nationalism. In his speech, he addresses the issue of Black Americans by not taking control
over their land, politics and economy. He believes that

Descriptive Essay On My Winter Trip
There s nothing better than streaming down a mountain filled with snow, ski tips pointed straight, and
reaching a maximum velocity. For me, an annual ski trip in the mountains is an irreplaceable event.
The only problem with these trips is living in Kansas. At best, I must travel 8 tedious hours by car to
the West to obtain my ideal vacation. And the return trip is even worse because the fun is over, your
body and patience is exhausted, and you understand the long week of catching up on to do lists that
will follow. Most often, the excitement of the trip far outweighs the tedious trip home, but in January
of 2013, I might have been convinced otherwise as my trip home was filled with speeding tickets, car
problems, cramped spaces, and almost six extra hours of travel. As my groups last day of skiing at
Wolf Creek Ski Resort came to an end, we went to bed in good time in hopes of leaving very early the
next morning for an equally early return to Newton. As the driver, I was diligently driving through the
twisting and turning mountains with a purpose. For those who have driven in the mountains before,
you are well aware of the difficulties of maintaining a constant speed through steep grades of terrain.
And sure enough, almost 2 hours into our trip home, I see a highway patrolman make a U Turn, flip on
his lights, and I found myself pulling over my car. Cited for going too fast down the mountain, a very
rude and argumentative patrolman did not see validity in my

Business Case Project For Robo Airline Essay
Abstract
This paper is an outline of the business case project for Robo Airline. The paper shows the importance
of a business case before undertaking any project worth some future returns. It looks at the Wellington
town market gap and proposes a valid business case. The business case also puts forth the executive
summary, the objectives and mission of the business case project and their importance. It also gives
the project scope, project budget and timeline.
Key words: executive summary, business case, project scope, budget, project time line, and
assumptions.
Introduction and Background
A business case is an assessment of a prospective market opportunity, usually at the market level. A
market opportunity is a lucrative, a lasting and quite a sizeable problem. A business case can be simply
defined as an examination that is prepared at the product stage, and that leads to a go decision, or a no
go decision, on whether a potential firm can lay down plans to venture into the market potential and
hence solve the market problem(Brown, L. 2000). The company or the firm attempts to solve the
market problem by providing a suitable product, capable to match the industry competition. The
business case serves to simplify the understanding of investors.
This is the business case for developing a new airline to take care of the diverse interests of
passengers, investors, government personnel, tourists and visitors, and also business people. it has an

Shakespeare s Othello
In Poetics, Aristotle explains tragedy as an imitation of an action that is serious, complete, and of a
certain magnitude [...] through pity and fear effecting the proper purgation of these emotions. Aristotle
notes that a perfect tragedy must include the downfall of the prominent protagonist as a result of his
own tragic flaw, a complex plot, and the use of catharsis. William Shakespeare s Othello, concerns the
downfall of a noble, but greatly flawed, black general in the Venetian army. Through the various
elements present in the play, and in accordance with the criteria discussed in Poetics, it is evident that
Othello is an excellent example of a tragedy. Some may argue that Iago manipulated Othello, and
targeted his vulnerabilities. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aristotle states that a tragic hero, first, and most important [...] must be good (Aristotle 6). He further
explains that, any speech or action that manifests moral purpose of any kind will be expressive of
character: the character will be good if the purpose is good (Aristotle 6). Othello s goodness is
displayed when he defends himself from the accusations made by Senator Brabantio about his recent
marriage to Desdemona, Brabantio s daughter. Brabantio argues that Othello, practiced on her with
foul charms, abused her delicate youth with drugs or minerals that weakens motion (I, ii, (line
number)). To which Othello responds, she loved me for the dangers I had passed, and I loved her that
she did pity them. This only is the witchcraft I have used (I, iii, (line number)). Othello justifies his
actions by stating that he told her about the stories of his adventures which won Desdemona s interest
and love. This speech portrayed Othello s good character, which Aristotle mentions as a requirement
for a tragic hero. The second requirement noted by Aristotle for a tragic hero is that he/she must be,
highly renowned and prosperous (Aristotle 4. Othello despite being black is a successful general in the
Venetian army and is well respected by everybody. The Duke of Venice and the Senators refer to him
as valiant Othello (I, iii, (line number)). His high status is also noted when the Duke asks him to go to
Cyprus, Othello, the fortitude of the place is best known to you, and though we have there a substitute
of most allowed sufficiency, yet opinion, a sovereign mistress of effects, throws a more safer voice on
you (I, iii, (line number)). Even though Montano, the Governor of Cyprus, is present there the Duke
still trusts Othello with its protection, indicating that he is highly respected by the Duke. Finally,
Aristotle notes that for a tragic hero to exist, The change of fortune

Interview with Nick Sobre on Communication and Management...
When the drivers are not giving out rides they are welcome to sit around at the warehouse or do as
they please. Nick is usually there in the mornings to communicate and be around if anyone needs
anything.
What type of incentives do you give your workers?
Since the employee s job does not allow them to work up the ladder, Nick had motivated them by
providing a raise to the workers that show top performance. To earn a raise the employee must always
be reliable and show up when they are on the schedule. If Nick notices that a particular employee is
getting large amounts of tips, then he will ask that specific worker if he wants to come into work
earlier so that he has the bigger advantage of making more money. Many employees walk the poverty
line and can be a little needier than other workers, so it is important to Nick to let the workers know
when they are doing a good job and give them more confidence at what they do.
What do you find some of the most common miscommunication issues with your customers?
There are not too many miscommunications. The party bus has a form that the customer must fill out
ahead of time and Nick will usually call the customer a few days ahead of the party to make sure that
they are on the same page as him. The small miscommunication issue that is sometimes made is
making sure the party bus has the

Diagnosis And Treatment Of The Thoracic Spine
The thoracic spine is considered the least vulnerable to a disc herniation due to anatomic stability.
Although they are rare, physically demanding jobs, trauma, and extreme sports can lead to a thoracic
disc herniation (TDH). In order to be effectively treated, a TDH needs to be successfully diagnosed.
Successful diagnosis relies on a good differential diagnosis and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI),
the gold standard for visualizing a disc herniation. Once diagnosed, there are many treatment options,
which range from conservative care to invasive surgery. Rehabilitative therapy can be an effective and
safe way to manage a TDH. Surgery can also be effective, but there are serious complications and
risks associated. Considering patients with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Over the course of 15 treatments, the patient s symptoms improved and eventually disappeared. Five
months later, an MRI study of the patient displayed significant regression of the TDH. This case is a
good example regarding the positive impact of conservative care on the management of a TDH.
Although a disc herniation may naturally regress overtime, rehabilitation can support the process and
help restore function.
Rehabilitation can be an effective short term therapy, but the long term effects are questionable. As
discussed earlier, the soccer player studied by Baranto et al. (2) was promptly diagnosed and treated
conservatively for a TDH. This athlete went through a physical therapy trial and eventually was
symptom free. When the symptoms resolved, the soccer player continued to train while gradually
increasing the intensity. By the following soccer season, the player suffered a similar episode and was
diagnosed with a recurrent TDH. Once again, the patient was symptom free after conservative
treatment and playing soccer. About a year passed when he experienced another onset of symptoms
during training, and was then advised to stop playing. This patient was prone to reoccurrence, which
questions the long term effects of treatment. Timely and compliant treatment got this athlete back on
the field, but the intensity of the sport hindered the healing process.
Although not all TDH s are promptly diagnosed, they can still be managed effectively once
discovered. This

The Bible And The Holy Bible
Any Christian who reads the Holy Bible and studies to Bible knows many of Jesus s as parables. The
new testament is filled with numerous amount of parables which seem to be stories that Jesus told in
order to get his message across. The word parable comes from παροιμιαν which means a figure of
speech., and this is the way that Jesus spoke. I have spoken to you in figures of speech; the hour is
coming when I shall no longer speak to you in figures of speech, but tell you plainly of the Father.
(John 16:25) When Jesus spoke to the people this is how he spoke to them However, while it seems
that these were simple stories it is apparent from the reading that Jess s parables were methodically
thought through with each being very precisely accurate in the structure of the stories. Moreover,
followers can seem to have a different meaning to these parables because depending on the situation
and relationship with Jesus that a particular person had it is possible for the interpretation may not
match the next persons. Yet, Jesus has used these analogy to illustrate his point, people of Jesus time
may have understood him better when the parables could be related to their every day lives. In the new
testament of the Bible there is an astounding 46 parables. Of the 46 parables in the bible some of those
are repeated within the other gospel but one which is unique to all the others is one parable the good
Samaritan And these were important information that was needed in order for the

obesity. Besides, the secondary outcomes were based on metabolic and hormonal changes.6
For safety clinical assessment, patients were screened at the beginning and week 4, 8 and 12 during

Niemann Pick Disease Essay
Niemann Pick Disease
Niemann Pick Disease is an autosomal recessive disease, passed down through carrier parents, where
lipids gather in the cells of the spleen, liver, and brain creating an obstruction. There are four known
forms of the disease, Type A, Type B, Type C, and Type D, in which Type A and B compose Type I
and Type C and D make up Type II. Type A and B are a response to the lack of the enzyme acid
sphingomyelinase(ASM) which metabolizes sphingomyelin. When there is an absence of
sphingomyelinase the excess build up of sphingomyelin kills multiple cells stopping organ function.
Symptoms of Type A include: abdominal swelling, redness in the eye, feeding difficulties, and loss of
motor skills. Type A is the more severe of situations, not offering ... Show more content on

If Type C symptoms are present before the age of 1 it is not likely that the child will live to be five, if
symptoms arise during the school age it is possible that the child lives into their late teens, and in
some cases into their twenties. Type D is a variant of Type C, and is caused by a mutation in the NPC2
gene, creating, an abnormality in the interaction between cholesterol and brain cells. Type C is often
noticed affecting Puerto Ricans, while Type D is frequently observed to affect French Canadians. Type
II is most commonly diagnosed with a skin biopsy, in which skin cells would be observed while in the
process of moving and storing cholesterol. In Addition, other tests that may be performed are: bone
marrow aspiration, a liver biopsy, slit lamp eye exam, and sphingomyelinase assays. Miglustat has
been given as treatment for Type C patients to decelerate the nervous system symptoms, but there is
no treatment yet for Type D. Due to the mutations in DNA of Type C it is probable that a fetus could
be diagnosed while in the womb in specialized centers. Since both parents are carriers of this gene
mutation, there is a 25% chance their child will have this disease, and a 50% chance the

The Theory Of The Mind Body Dualism
René Descartes was a French mathematician, scientist, and philosopher of the 16th Century, who,
according to the Encyclopedia Britannica, was one of the first to abandon scholastic Aristotelianism
and created the first version of the modern mind body dualism or emotion (Encyclopedia Britannica).
Born on March 31, 1596, he was dubbed as the Father of Modern Philosophy. His theory on the mind
body dualism, also known as Cartesian Dualism, created a stem of the modern problem of the
relationship between the mind and body. He created the early version to further explain the interaction
of the mind and body, to create a firm foundation that can be explained through science and to prove
the existence and goodness of God, and how the soul could be immortal.
Along with that, he mentioned that the mind is different from the body. One of the basic thesis of his
Cartesian Dualism is that a mental substance cannot have a physical form, and that said physical form
cannot have experiences , for the mind and body cannot function without the other (Chin Tai Kim
337). In his Cartesian Dualism, René Descartes believes that every human being possesses a body and
mind (Nath 1). Though, there are some philosophers who might have agreed, disagreed or criticized
about his theory.
Philosophers such as Gilbert Ryle, critiqued about the Descartes Cartesian Dualism, for he believes
that the principle of Descartes Dualism theory is not valid enough and full of problems. He called

The New England And The Chesapeake Colonies Essay
European nations vigorously began to take over the newly discovered Americas throughout most of
the 16th century leading into the 17th century. England was very forceful in pushing out multiple
groups of people to the eastern coast of what is now known as North America. At that time there were
only two prominent regions in North America, they were known then as the New England and the
Chesapeake colonies. These two colonies would eventually band together to stand as one nation, but
that was toward the end of the 17th century. The beginning tells a completely different story, both
colonies had very different beliefs on what the exact reason may have been for the settlers to come to
the New World. They lived very different lives because of this. A lot of these differences affected them
politically in who they followed, socially in who they spoke with, and economically in who they
would do business with. Connecticut, Plymouth, Rhode Island, Massachusetts Bay Colony, and New
Haven all made up the region that was New England. It laid just north of the colony of Chesapeake.
The New Englanders wanted and longed for religious freedom. They were known as Puritan
Separatists, they wanted complete separation from the Church of England. Protestantism was an
evolution that thrived in England once the Church separated from Catholicism. These people wanted
to turn toward Calvinism, because of this they began to be called Separatists . They were not alone in
this, joined with them where

The United States Of America And Spain Essay
The late 1800s was a high tension and tumultuous time for both the United States of America and
Spain. Spanish Colonialism had long been receding from its once powerful stronghold in the 16th and
17th centuries, and in the 1890s, the United States would make certain to diminish the last of Spain s
outlets. The precedent for the American, superpower perspective of the late 1800s is in large part due
to President James Monroe s Doctrine establishing the United States as the sole entity of social,
political, and economic interest in the Western Hemisphere. The Monroe Doctrine clearly spells out
that any territorial advances (or in this case, any territorial claims, whatsoever) would be recognized as
an act of aggression and the U.S. would act accordingly (hint, hint war). This document shaped the
United States as the sole enforcer of both commerce and democracy in the Western Hemisphere in the
minds of its constituents. Thusly, it is the least bit unusual to see President McKinley asking to declare
war against the Spanish in defense of his country s interest. President William McKinley s Declaration
of War is written to the Congress of the United States as a plea to go to war in defense of American
interests and the Cuban people. The document was written in 1898, and its objective was simple:
persuade Congress to allow him to declare war. Although the document may shape William McKinley
as a strong proponent of the now called Spanish American War, he very much wished to

Asian American Role as Stereotypes
Asian American Role as Stereotypes
In David Henry s movie depicts how Asian Americans are stereotyped in the media and movies.
During the movie a Caucasian fools a director in audition and pretends to be a stereotyped Asian
American. Yellow Face is an Asian American movie that explains how Asians are used in mass media.
In doing so I would begin to explain how much negative effect it will be on society. I will use four to
five articles in my essay to show what roles Asian Americans get in the Hollywood movies. In general
Asian Americans students are most academic achievers but when it comes to act in movies they are
stereotyped and their English accent is used as foreign accent even thorough they are born American. I
will give all the information that is used in media about Asian Americans. In the movie when a
Caucasian movie star lies to be an Asian American. When the director know about that he is lying he
is not an Asian he a Caucasian they start fighting and for the race. But he becomes a famous star in
movies later on. After a while the director heard that his friend who is the Caucasian star s girlfriend.
He meets her and explains her and says, I think he make you fool do you know he is not an Asian? He
lied you for everything but she didn t listen and she starts arguing with his friend. Yellow face gives us
a unique understanding of Asian stereotypes.

Compare The Allegory Of The Cave And Fahrenheit 451
Fahrenheit 451 and The Allegory of the Cave relate in the sense that society is ignorant and fears
facing reality. In both, the discovery of something unknown or unfamiliar changes the characters
views on the world, especially after being exposed to something so different to what you have spent
your whole life knowing. In Fahrenheit 451, Montag, a man whose job as a fireman was to rid of
books by setting them on fire, met a young girl named Clarisse, who talked to him about the time
when firemen put out fires instead of starting them, and read and wrote books instead of trying to

In the Enuma Elish poem, a reminder of Christianity is evident when Marduk (a god) says, I shall
make stand a human being... (The Norton Anthology World Literature, Volume A, pg. 35) This
statement by Marduk signifies the Babylonian belief about the creation of man. On the other hand, the
Hebrew belief declares that God says, Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness... (New
International Version Bible, Genesis 1:26) The Babylonian and Christian belief is comparable since
each belief states that a god creates man. Likewise, there are variations between the two beliefs about
the method of creation. For example, the Babylonian belief states that Ea, the god of crafts, creates
man. Ea causes bone to appear and uses Qingu s blood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

watch this horrific sight every day. Child hunger is a serious problem and not just in Senegal but all
around the world! About 3.1 million children die every year from starvation all around the world.
Senegal does not have enough food to properly feed their children in order to do this Senegal needs to
provide less expensive food. But to do that they must also find inexpensive ingredients. So that way
less children will be waking up and going to bed hungry.

Buying a New Home
This paper will address what to consider when buying a new home and what affects like marginal
benefit, marginal cost, strength of the economy, domestic economy, and international trade, can have

economics can directly relate to the purchase of a house, because you must consider all the possible
affects your decision might have and the principles do a great job at helping you be more analytical

This value of U.S. currency does affect company profits, their budgeting, as well as manufacturing
costs. There are ramifications from a decrease in value of the dollar, examples are; capital investment,
multiple plant openings and closings. Because many companies over time have outsourced work to
foreign companies because the cost to employ people is cheaper, but the dollar has decrease in value
which is returning the factories or call centers back to the U.S. International trade is very important to
our domestic economy as it does decrease the value and power of the dollar, which will then change
our ability to afford things at a respectable price. This is the reason for consideration when purchasing
a home; these factors are necessary to your dream of owning a home. But when these factors are what
they are right now, you can see why many might find a purchase like a home is out of reach with the
decreased value of the dollar and a struggling economy. If Americans can start doing things a little
different, like consuming less and finding ways to innovate new ideas and more efficient ways to do
more, we can then find a solution to these failures in our economy.
For me at this time in life I see buying a home a good thing and a decision I am ready to commit too.
My reasoning is the location of where I am going to buy. Markets around the nation are very different

Charles Dickens And The Victorian Era
Charles Dickens and the Victorian Era The various themes and ideas of the Victorian era are perfectly
showcased in the many novels and short stories of Charles Dickens. The writers of the Victorian era
produced an enormous amount of the greatest novels to ever be written those that were realistic,
thickly plotted, crowded with characters, and long. They, more often than not, showed the
characteristics of the different social classes in society. Generally humorous, most books were targeted
to the middle, as they could relate to them the most easily. Dickens own works have extensive plots
woven throughout each of them, one in particular being that of Bleak House. That novel is considered
to be Dickens longest and contains a grand total of fifty characters, all of which are interconnected by
some standard. Its plot surrounds a mysterious murder and lawsuit. A large portion of Dickens
inspiration for his works came from his own childhood and adolescence. He was born Charles John
Huffam Dickens to parents John and Elizabeth on February 7, 1812. Charles was the second of their
eight children. As a child, the family employed two servants. One was named Mary Weller, and she
was instrumental in Charles life. She told him and his siblings made up stories, which she swore were
true, and thus stretched his imagination and fascination for storytelling. His father was employed as a

When I was working for Girls Rock Math a summer camp that incorporates arts activities as a method

increase in the girls interest when arts activities were present compared to when it was just plain math.
The first and second graders in my class appeared to be much more excited about the subject and more
concentrated when the teacher was trying to explain the instructions. This discovery makes me
wondering about the influence of arts integration has on students learning. Defined by The John F.
Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, arts integration is an approach to teaching in which students
construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form. By integrating arts into core subjects
teaching, educators are allowing students to learn through the arts, with the arts or accompanied by art
lessons. In fact, arts education has been constantly associated with higher individual achievement.
Established in 2012, the No Child Left Behind Act confirms learning the arts as a core academic
subject that all school should incorporate. It puts arts on equal footing with the other core subjects and

grid shell is it is noted to be the first twice layered lumber grid shell in the UK.(Harris et al.,

grid shell must obtain only compression force and the force is allowed to pass through the arch of the

Therefore grid shell can stand itself without any supports(Paoli, 2007). In order to accomplish the grid

situation is when the people, who are the principals, gives authority to the representative, who are the

the agent who has received authority from the principal to handle the issue that the principal is

Contrary to that, some observers have argued that it is not at all clear that informal processes like ADR
may be a disadvantage to minority groups any more than formal processes like settlement . Formality
may influence people to be on the right side of the law and play by the book, it risks imposing its own
obstacles to justice . The concept of justice is essential to ADR processes. In the framework of ADR,
the concept of justice involves the consent of the parties to play an active role in the resolution of their

satisfactory, if not excellent settlements of their disputes, with regards to their interest. 3.3 Principles

The Human Figure In Hellenistic Art
The human figure is something that artists have portrayed in sculpture for thousands of years. Each
culture and time period had different reasons behind the way they chose to depict humans. In ancient
Egypt, pharaohs were shown as idealized and emotionless, like gods. Yet in Hellenistic art, people
were depicted in dramatic scenes that showed them as very human and emotional. The way humans
have been depicted through sculpture and the reasons behind these canons have evolved and changed
over time.
The earliest examples of the human form in sculpture can be found in the Paleolithic era. While in the
Paleolithic era humans were rarely depicted in paintings, they were commonly depicted through
sculpture in small figurines. The majority of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike artwork from previous cultures and periods, Hellenistic sculpture was filled with drama. Many
works seem chaotic due to the amount of movement and action happening in them. There were also
pieces that were, while not chaotic, filled with extreme emotion. This can be seen in the sculpture
Dying Gaul , one piece of a larger group of sculptures (see fig. 7). A man is depicted in what is most
likely his last moment of life. He is a Gaul, the losers of a battle with the Greeks, and yet, he is shown
as human with strong emotions. His face is filled with the pain and sadness of knowing that he is
dying with a furrowed brow (see fig. 8). It is a strangely detailed and emotional death to give to one s
enemy. It shows a possible respect for their enemies and an understanding that they are human and
feel pain and have emotions as well. Much like previous Greek works of art, the muscles are well
defined and highly realistic. Yet, unlike Riace Warriors where the figures were just standing in a
relaxed and calm way, this figure is trying to hold himself up, and the realistic muscles make it easy to
see that this figure is using all of his strength to keep from collapsing. While it could be considered
overly dramatic, the way extreme emotion is used in this piece makes the audience feel the pain and
sorrow of the person in front of them even though he was the

General Description of Edwards SAPIEN XT Transcatheter Heart
Valve.
Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), or Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), is a
relatively new surgical procedure to combat aortic stenosis. When the aortic valve gets occluded from
a congenital defect, or damage from
calcium or scarring ,1 blood cannot flow through the valve efficiently. This leads to decreased
availability of oxygenated blood to peripheral tissues, and can be harmful or even fatal to patients.
When the malformations of the valve reach a critical point in which the patient s health will be
significantly affected by the lack of proper blood flow,
TAVR is an effective choice to combat stenosis. According to a study done by Samir
Kapadia, MD, TF TAVR (trans femoral transcatheter aortic valve replacement) exhibits a 95.7 percent
success rate. Thirty day mortality is limited to 0.4 percent, and stroke rate exhibited a 1.6 percent
incidence rate. Follow ups after one year showed a mortality rate and stroke rate of 17.5 percent and
3.5 percent, respectively.2 This data implies that while TAVR is effective, the procedure still has room
to improve. The Edwards SAPIEN

The negative aspect of humanism, which can be linked to psychoanalysis, is that the focus is primarily

The main focus of psychoanalysis is viewing the development and behaviour of a human being as

Stage design allowing the utilization of projected images on surfaces can create a dynamic canvas on
which to apply vision. The applications are only limited by your imagination and ability to position
the projector. Some examples include: a window space to see outside, a mirror to show symbolic
representations of character, floor space to create a pool of water, smoke, curtains etc.
Lighting design:
It is important when incorporating video into live performance that you consider the effect of lights on
the screen surface. One difficulty in setting lights is that they can significantly degrade the brightness
and colour of the screen images if there is light either directly hitting or bouncing from the floor onto
the screen.
One solution is to set the screen up from the floor and placing some blocks/staging in front to block
some of the bouncing light. When considering colour gels it is imperative to consider colours used in
the screen images and try to match them as well as possible to give a blended effect.
Mise en scène
Mise en scène is a French term and originates in the theater. It means, literally, put in the scene. For
film, it has a broader meaning, and refers to almost everything that goes into the composition of the
shot, including the composition itself: framing, movement of the camera and characters, lighting, set
design and gen earl visual environment, even sound as it helps

Stingless Bee Essay
It is believed that the bees have appeared on Earth about 125 million years ago in conjunction to
Angiosperms. The tribe Meliponini or native bees (Hymenoptera, Apidae) comprises about 300
species that in addition to obtaining food resources in plant species, they use them as a shelter. In
Brazil these bees are found in all ecosystems, and the Caatinga, despite environmental limitations,
comprises the largest number of stingless bees worldwide. The presence and the quality of the arboreal
vegetation present in an area is essential to the establishment of the stingless bees, showing an urgent
demand for research on these animals and their interactions in the places where they occur. Therefore,
this chapter aimed to evaluate the prevalence of

The Causes and Effects of Global Recession.
INTRODUCTION
Here a definition a recession as well a global recession is mentioned. Some causes and effects has
been listed. Due to recession occurring, I have identified the effects of recession based on Tesco.
The causes and effects of global recession.
Global financial crisis, increasing for a while, began to show its results in the mid of 2007 into 2008.
Worldwide stock markets have subsided, financial institutions have dropped and governments in even
the richest nations have had to develop packages to assist their financial organizations. Recession is
defined as a slowdown of activities in the economy over a time. The major effect of recession is
Inflation as well as currency crisis. A decrease in income may be another ... Show more content on

A decrease in world GDP occurred in many countries, specifically in developing countries. Imports
have also declined significantly in importing countries. This was obvious in countries such as China,
Taiwan, Mexico, Egypt and Russia. it was stated that GDP fell to 3.8% in the U.S. The impact of
recession on employment may not be felt for some time. Investigation in Britain shows that low
skilled, low educated workers and the immature are in a weak position to unemployment in a
downturn. It took Britain five years for unemployment to go back to its initial levels. From 2000 to
2003, the Federal Reserve lowered their target rates. They then raised the funds rate significantly
between July 2004 and July 2006. This added to an increase in number of years to the adjustable rate
mortgage rates and made it more expensive for homeowners. As a result, this may have also
contributed to the deflating of the housing bubble. Gross Domestic Product declined at an in the last
two years in the United States. When GDP collapses, economic growth will also plunge. This is as a
result of fewer goods being manufactured and therefore the rate of exports will reduce. It is said that
when exports decrease, it will not have sufficient funds to accommodate any growth in the economy
what so ever. As a result in the decline in GDP, employment rate will sooner or later begin to drop. As
a result of the credit crunch, consumers have less purchasing power therefore

Nomads In South American History
All along, history has been written through the eyes of Westerners. Indigenous inhabitants who did not
use the conventional way of recording events, that is, writing, has been overlooked from time and
time. Nomads for instance, orally passed information from one generation to another, but without
actual tangible evidence where information can be verified. It also does not help their case that we
tend to focus on history that are agricultural but most importantly, has resonance with the modern
world, which Nomads, both are not (Dickinson, January 2017). Other Natives like the Inca in South
America had no writing methods but meticulously kept record through tying knots on strings (Daniels/
Hyslop, p. 145). As people tend to look for formal writings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Also, some expert s claim that African Empires were contained within lands and their ship based
exports were only to Europe, especially after colonization. However, contrary to popular belief,
Westerners were not the leaders of navigational progress and European ships of the 15th century, were
not superior than those centuries earlier. Navigational knowledge of Spaniards of this time was
elementary and seamen were considerably ignorant on navigation according to Columbus (Van
Sertima, p.57). Normally, I would not generalize and that there may be some exceptions, but
Columbus is said to have spearheaded trans Atlantic navigation, thus, him saying that Europeans were
poor in navigation ought to have considerable weight. Europeans came into possession of such skills
during the Renaissance (Daniels/ Hyslop, p.) of the 14th century. Such maritime technologies
necessary to cross the Atlantic has been available to other non Western civilizations suchlike the
system of longitudinal and latitudinal coordinates that has been available in China since 100 B.C.,
lateen sail hoisted by Spain and Portugal which came from the Arabs, and the astrolabe, which
originated in ancient Greeks, but was diffused and developed for years also came from the Arabs (Van
Sertima, pg.57). Zheng He, a successful and famous Chinese commander is said to have navigated
decades before Columbus, judging from the year Ma Huan s compilation finished in 1451 (Mills,
p.137 141). Furthermore, Africans themselves navigated the Atlantic prior to Christ (Van Sertima,
p.57). This is proven by Thor Heyerdahl of Norway who tested the validity of previous statement by
building the exact replica of Egyptian ships, incorporating the same

The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program
Bullying Prevention There are many social problems in the US and throughout the world today. One
of the most significant of those problems is bullying (Macfarlane McPherson, 2004). More than
160,000 children avoid school each day because they are concerned about being bullied or because
they have been bullied and are too afraid to go to school (Macfarlane McPherson, 2004).
Cyberbullying the use of a computer or other electronic device to bully someone is also on the
increase. That can be harder to avoid, and children have even taken their own lives because of the
harassment. Nearly three million students are bullied through the internet every year (Macfarlane
McPherson, 2004). The number of children who are bullied gets larger each year, as does the number
of children who bully others. There are many reasons children are bullied, and just as many reasons
that children bully other children, but the main concern is how to stop the problem and keep all
children safe. Bullying can leave a serious imprint on the overall performance of students, and can
also affect their personalities (Phye Sanders, 2004). Because of the seriousness of the bullying issue,
there have been several bullying prevention programs launched in order to help students feels safer
both physically and emotionally (Phye Sanders, 2004). The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program is
one such program. It is designed to prevent bullying activities in schools and protect students from
harm. Bullying

Pros And Cons Of Ex-Convicts
According to Steve Chapman, a syndicated columnist and editorial writer at the Chicago Tribune,
Depriving ex convicts of the ballot is a mindless form of punishment that only discourages them from
becoming upstanding members of the community. Chapman makes the point that if it is thought that
ex convicts cannot change after serving time in prison, why let them out? If we allow ex convicts to
own property, drive cars, marry, reproduce, etc., why can t we trust them when it comes to choosing
our leaders? Roger Clegg, JD, the President and General Counsel of the Center for Equal Opportunity,
challenges Chapman s beliefs by stating in a debate held by the Legal Affairs Debate Club that there is
a reason we do not allow children, noncitizens, or the mentally challenged to vote. Their judgment
cannot be trusted when it comes to our leaders. Clegg believes ex convicts should be placed in the
same category. Although I agree with Clegg up to a point, I cannot accept his overriding assumption
that ex convicts should be placed in the same category as children, noncitizens, and the mentally
challenged. Going back to Chapman s statement, if we do not trust ex convicts to change and become
better people after serving their time, we would not let them out. In reality, they are trusted. ... Show

During Bondi s election, Bondi claims to have utilized the clemency rules. Clemency is a process that
provides convicted felons with the opportunity of a lifetime to be considered for relief from
punishment and seek restoration of their civil rights without having to apply or having to deal with any
waiting period. However, Florida reintroduced a mandatory requirement for those seeking restoration
of their civil rights. Anyone seeking restoration must submit an application and wait a minimum of
five years. Bondi claims that these rule changes have nothing to do with

Essay On Sectionals
Why Kid? said, my grandfather. I replied, simple, not everyone can do it, that why I love it. I love the
grind, I love the self torture, and of course the leading reason I look ripped in a singlet. Wrestling is
one of the most demanding sports there is. The dedication, hard work, dieting, endless practices, and
the everlasting season. Don t forget sectionals, then finally state. I can t tell you how many parties that
I had to turn down during the season because I didn t want to be tempted to binge eat. The countless

I woke up that morning walked up to my scale dropped all my clothes and suspensefully stepped up
onto my scale, and slowly looked down to see a daunting but expected result 177 lbs. 7 pounds, I
needed to lose 7 pounds. What did I do, well I did what any wrestler would do; I try to drop as much
water weight as possible. I had spit two full water bottle while chewing cinnamon gum; sat in a sauna
while wearing 3 trash bags, 2 jackets, and 2 sweatpants; I hadn t eaten all day but that should be a
given I mean I m a wrestler after all. This self abuse some would call; essentially, was all in the name
so I could walk on a mate for three periods then get my arm lifted(when you win a match the referee

state: I had one measly task in front of me. I needed to step onto an officially weighed scale and make

Secret Weapons Of World War Two
Secret Weapons of World War Two In a war of mass destruction and huge weaponry, development of
the next big offensive device was on the minds of all the leaders involved. Many of these weapons
were designed in secret laboratories under the top scientists and physicists in the world. High
emphasis and funding put into these designs, the developments flourished. Some of these weapons
were unbelievable successes, making their way to the battlefield meeting all the expectations set by
their imaginative creators. Others, however, did not make it any further than the testing unit.
Numerous previously unheard of ideas were presented, several being far ahead of their time. This was
cause for some of the weapons failures. Although, these were ... Show more content on

During its final testing, however, the Panjandrum nearly killed a filmer of the event, roaring towards
him and shooting rockets in every direction. Due to safety reasons, the project was discontinued after
that final test. Barnes Wallis, also British, designed what was called an Earthquake Bomb. This was a
bomb that fell from high above the earth, penetrated the ground, exploded, and caused an earthquake.
It was used towards the end of the war, on massively reinforced installations, underground caverns,
buried tunnels, and bridges. Some of Wallis bombs based on the Earthquake Bomb were used to
disable the German V2 factory, bury V3 guns, sink Tirpitz, the battleship, and other previously
undamageable targets. Another British bomb designed by Barnes Wallis was the Bouncing Bomb. The
concept was a bomb that bounced across water to avoid torpedo nets. It was designed to allow speed
and time of detonation to be pre determined. In May of 1943, a Bouncing Bomb was used to explode
German dams underwater, having a similar effect to Wallis other design, the earthquake bomb. Also in
the family of bombs developed by Great Britain, was the E61 Anthrax Bomb. This was a biological
bomblet, sub munition for the E133 cluster bomb. Within in was thirty five milliliters of anthrax
spores, or another pathogen,on 30.600 sharp flechettes. The anthrax bombs were relatively lightweight
and portable, because even just a

Tsunami
There are many types of natural disaster that are quite deadly (earthquake, tornado, volcanic eruption,
etc.). Out of all natural disaster that ever occurs on earth, I believe that tsunami is by far most
interesting one out of all. The reason why tsunami is very interesting is because it can be triggered by
many causes (earthquake, volcanic eruption, underwater landslide, fall of a large mass, etc.) On this
research paper; I will explain what exactly is tsunami, the 2004 Sumatra tsunami, and how to predict
tsunami.
Tsunami (also known as tidal wave or seismic sea wave) is a series of waves created by the
displacement of water, unlike normal ocean waves which are created by ... Show more content on

Unfortunately, it is estimated that around 35,000 people have lost their lives and around 500,000
people have lost their homes in Sumatra (around 15000 died in India). The aftermath report reported
that around 190,000 people are dead with 40,000 to 45,000 either missing or presumed dead. Even
though billions of dollars of humanitarian aid have been used to help all the effected region of the
tsunami disaster, some areas still have not recovered from this disaster. In 2011, an earthquake
registered at the magnitude of 9.0 9.1 hit the coast of Tohoku Japan (it is recorded to be the most
powerful earthquake ever hit Japan). The earthquake caused a giant tsunami waves with the highest
waves measured at the heights of 133 feet. Despite of Japan s precaution plan of Tsunami attack, the
damage that the tsunami and earthquake did was very severe. The tsunami walls that Japan created
around the nuclear plant has no effect because it is not a big as the tsunami waves thus resume the
damage that the tsunami has set its eyes on; multiple infrastructure damage, nuclear plant damage, and
severe nuclear plant radiation leak. It is estimated that around 15894 people are dead, 6152 are
injured, and 2562 people are either missing or presume dead. In 2015 September 16, an earthquake
registered at the magnitude of 8.3 hit the offshore of IL lapel and Chile. The tsunami waves arrived on

  • 2. Golf Course Research Paper Did you ever think that a gentleman s game could relate so much to a seventeen year old girls life? Turns out you can relate anything if you try hard enough. Every day is a new day, similar to each hole and golf course is different. You never know what the condition of the golf course will be and you don t know what the weather might be while your playing. One of the biggest things I follow when I m playing golf is to take one shot at a time just like the saying take one day at a time. Imagine stepping up to the first tee of a golf course that you have never played before, you tend to get up on the tee box looking to see where would be the best place to hit your tee shot. This reminds me of starting freshmen year at a new school and looking around the cafeteria to see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As my senior year approaches just like my thoughts on the final hole I contemplated which college I would like to attend. I wanted a college that was going to give me the best opportunities after and during my college experience. I also knew that I needed a coach that would push me. I wanted a coach and a golf team that would be there to help me grow and work hard to achieve not only my personal goals but helps the team achieve theirs. On that last hole of the golf game getting ready for your final putt of the round you take a chance and chose the line that you want to putt your ball on. When I discovered Colorado State University and Coach Annie I felt I just chose the right line for myself. As the final ball rolls toward the hole and coach Annie selected me as one of her new recruits I knew not only that I had the right speed and the right line I knew I found the right college. I continue to stare down the line and watch as my putt slowly falls in the hole, with my hands up I knew that I picked the right line and have also made the best decision on wanting to become a Ram for Colorado State ... • 3. Aristotle Voluntary Action Analysis Aristotle continues to speak about virtue by bringing up actions that are voluntary and involuntary. He then says that involuntary actions are done through ignorance or compulsion which would starts outside the person. There are many situations in which both voluntary and involuntary actions can be combined. He brings up an example of someone holding a family hostage and giving a person a decision to do something bad. This person chooses, but also wants to do it to save their family. Since the person wants to choose the best outcome, this is a voluntary action. This would be a noble act, but it would make us do something bad. He also says that we should not do some noble things because it may not be worth it. It is very hard to find where we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He says that children and animals are not in this category because they do not have the rational thought. People would guess that choice relates to desire, but desire is in pleasure and pain where choice is not. Choice is something that is within us and does not look at the end goals. Choice is how we want to achieve something and it is not an opinion. Therefore, Aristotle says choice is definitely voluntary. He then shifts to speaking that choice could be about deliberation. He says that there are certain things we do not deliberate about, but the things we do deliberate about are the things that can affect us. This deliberation can be seen more in the arts because it is more abstract than sciences. When there is something unknown, we need to deliberate about it. Also, we look for the means to get something rather than looking at the end goals. Deliberation helps us choose so it is part of choice and desire. He then moves to talk about wishing. This is about how someone wants something. This has to do with the means rather than the ends. Aristotle says that if we are moral, we want things that are good, but if we are not moral, we would wish for something that seems to be good, but really is not. Pleasure takes people of the moral track and they wish for something that seems good, rather than what they should wish ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Why The Collapse Of Patron And Broker The Collapse of Patron and Broker Throughout the 19th century, American government on the local, state, and federal level all utilized patronage to amass political support in exchange for jobs and distributive goods. However, as the century came to an end, there was a shift from this tradition to one that slowly transformed bureaucracy from a spoils system to one of merit. There are many competing theories on why this civil service reform emerged the way it did in the United States. Different test subjects were investigated how and why merit penetrated the bureaucracy concluded that competition among political parties when the majority began to see wavering support, but a more compelling view saw it as a means for politicians to lighten their workload. In his paper outlining the functions of political parties and bureaucracies throughout American history, Martin Shefter uses the Progressive Era to illustrate how the decline of political party power leads to bureaucratic reform. The party realignment of 1896 culminated in weak political parties that often had one party in charge at a regional level. Consequently, any minority faction was useless in challenging majority party policies. Unable to make a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. A Call For Justice And Unity A Call for Justice and Unity For many heroes like Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, and Frederick Douglas that fought against racism and inequality in the United States, Malcolm X, a prominent and a real Muslim minister, also during his life has influenced, urged and advocated for the black patriotism and right and freedom for the American black people. He achieved this through a message he passed at a meeting that was being sponsored by the active labor forum in New York. In his speech, he addressed several concerns and issues such as integration, black Americans reunite to prevent white oppressors, black Americans having control over the American soil, and as well as solving economic issues. Malcolm X speech, until today, has impacted and influenced many black communities. On the other hand, many others heavily condemned him as a racist individual due to some negative connotations he used during his speech. Throughout Malcolm x speech, he was convincing, made good use of rhetoric techniques and Pathos to get the attention of his audience. He had the skills and the ability to arouse the emotions of his audience, therefore, in his speech, it seemed to most of his audience and supporters were enraptured by his story. It was so obvious that Malcolm x was a man of integrity and a true nationalist. Everything he did was based on nationalism. • 7. Descriptive Essay On My Winter Trip There s nothing better than streaming down a mountain filled with snow, ski tips pointed straight, and reaching a maximum velocity. For me, an annual ski trip in the mountains is an irreplaceable event. The only problem with these trips is living in Kansas. At best, I must travel 8 tedious hours by car to the West to obtain my ideal vacation. And the return trip is even worse because the fun is over, your body and patience is exhausted, and you understand the long week of catching up on to do lists that will follow. Most often, the excitement of the trip far outweighs the tedious trip home, but in January of 2013, I might have been convinced otherwise as my trip home was filled with speeding tickets, car problems, cramped spaces, and almost six extra hours of travel. As my groups last day of skiing at Wolf Creek Ski Resort came to an end, we went to bed in good time in hopes of leaving very early the next morning for an equally early return to Newton. As the driver, I was diligently driving through the twisting and turning mountains with a purpose. For those who have driven in the mountains before, you are well aware of the difficulties of maintaining a constant speed through steep grades of terrain. And sure enough, almost 2 hours into our trip home, I see a highway patrolman make a U Turn, flip on his lights, and I found myself pulling over my car. • 9. Shakespeare s Othello In Poetics, Aristotle explains tragedy as an imitation of an action that is serious, complete, and of a certain magnitude [...] through pity and fear effecting the proper purgation of these emotions. Aristotle notes that a perfect tragedy must include the downfall of the prominent protagonist as a result of his own tragic flaw, a complex plot, and the use of catharsis. William Shakespeare s Othello, concerns the downfall of a noble, but greatly flawed, black general in the Venetian army. Through the various elements present in the play, and in accordance with the criteria discussed in Poetics, it is evident that Othello is an excellent example of a tragedy. Some may argue that Iago manipulated Othello, and targeted his vulnerabilities. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Aristotle states that a tragic hero, first, and most important [...] must be good (Aristotle 6). He further explains that, any speech or action that manifests moral purpose of any kind will be expressive of character: the character will be good if the purpose is good (Aristotle 6). Othello s goodness is displayed when he defends himself from the accusations made by Senator Brabantio about his recent marriage to Desdemona, Brabantio s daughter. Brabantio argues that Othello, practiced on her with foul charms, abused her delicate youth with drugs or minerals that weakens motion (I, ii, (line number)). To which Othello responds, she loved me for the dangers I had passed, and I loved her that she did pity them. This only is the witchcraft I have used (I, iii, (line number)). Othello justifies his actions by stating that he told her about the stories of his adventures which won Desdemona s interest and love. This speech portrayed Othello s good character, which Aristotle mentions as a requirement for a tragic hero. The second requirement noted by Aristotle for a tragic hero is that he/she must be, highly renowned and prosperous (Aristotle 4. Othello despite being black is a successful general in the Venetian army and is well respected by everybody. The Duke of Venice and the Senators refer to him as valiant Othello (I, iii, (line number)). His high status is also noted when the Duke asks him to go to Cyprus, Othello, the fortitude of the place is best known to you, and though we have there a substitute of most allowed sufficiency, yet opinion, a sovereign mistress of effects, throws a more safer voice on you (I, iii, (line number)). Since the employee s job does not allow them to work up the ladder, Nick had motivated them by providing a raise to the workers that show top performance. To earn a raise the employee must always be reliable and show up when they are on the schedule. If Nick notices that a particular employee is getting large amounts of tips, then he will ask that specific worker if he wants to come into work earlier so that he has the bigger advantage of making more money. Many employees walk the poverty line and can be a little needier than other workers, so it is important to Nick to let the workers know when they are doing a good job and give them more confidence at what they do. What do you find some of the most common miscommunication issues with your customers? There are not too many miscommunications. • 11. Diagnosis And Treatment Of The Thoracic Spine The thoracic spine is considered the least vulnerable to a disc herniation due to anatomic stability. Although they are rare, physically demanding jobs, trauma, and extreme sports can lead to a thoracic disc herniation (TDH). In order to be effectively treated, a TDH needs to be successfully diagnosed. Successful diagnosis relies on a good differential diagnosis and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the gold standard for visualizing a disc herniation. Once diagnosed, there are many treatment options, which range from conservative care to invasive surgery. Rehabilitative therapy can be an effective and safe way to manage a TDH. Surgery can also be effective, but there are serious complications and risks associated. Considering patients with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Over the course of 15 treatments, the patient s symptoms improved and eventually disappeared. Five months later, an MRI study of the patient displayed significant regression of the TDH. This case is a good example regarding the positive impact of conservative care on the management of a TDH. Although a disc herniation may naturally regress overtime, rehabilitation can support the process and help restore function. Rehabilitation can be an effective short term therapy, but the long term effects are questionable. As discussed earlier, the soccer player studied by Baranto et al. (2) was promptly diagnosed and treated conservatively for a TDH. This athlete went through a physical therapy trial and eventually was symptom free. When the symptoms resolved, the soccer player continued to train while gradually increasing the intensity. By the following soccer season, the player suffered a similar episode and was diagnosed with a recurrent TDH. Once again, the patient was symptom free after conservative treatment and playing soccer. About a year passed when he experienced another onset of symptoms during training, and was then advised to stop playing. This patient was prone to reoccurrence, which questions the long term effects of treatment. Timely and compliant treatment got this athlete back on the field, but the intensity of the sport hindered the healing process. Although not all TDH s are promptly diagnosed, they can still be managed effectively once discovered. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Bible And The Holy Bible Any Christian who reads the Holy Bible and studies to Bible knows many of Jesus s as parables. The new testament is filled with numerous amount of parables which seem to be stories that Jesus told in order to get his message across. The word parable comes from παροιμιαν which means a figure of speech., and this is the way that Jesus spoke. I have spoken to you in figures of speech; the hour is coming when I shall no longer speak to you in figures of speech, but tell you plainly of the Father. (John 16:25) When Jesus spoke to the people this is how he spoke to them However, while it seems that these were simple stories it is apparent from the reading that Jess s parables were methodically thought through with each being very precisely accurate in the structure of the stories. Moreover, followers can seem to have a different meaning to these parables because depending on the situation and relationship with Jesus that a particular person had it is possible for the interpretation may not match the next persons. Yet, Jesus has used these analogy to illustrate his point, people of Jesus time may have understood him better when the parables could be related to their every day lives. In the new testament of the Bible there is an astounding 46 parables. Of the 46 parables in the bible some of those are repeated within the other gospel but one which is unique to all the others is one parable the good Samaritan And these were important information that was needed in order for the ... On the other hand, in LIRA3 group, liraglutide was started at 0.6 mg injected subcutaneous once daily and increased up to 3 mg daily. • 15. Niemann Pick Disease Essay Niemann Pick Disease Niemann Pick Disease is an autosomal recessive disease, passed down through carrier parents, where lipids gather in the cells of the spleen, liver, and brain creating an obstruction. There are four known forms of the disease, Type A, Type B, Type C, and Type D, in which Type A and B compose Type I and Type C and D make up Type II. Type A and B are a response to the lack of the enzyme acid sphingomyelinase(ASM) which metabolizes sphingomyelin. When there is an absence of sphingomyelinase the excess build up of sphingomyelin kills multiple cells stopping organ function. Symptoms of Type A include: abdominal swelling, redness in the eye, feeding difficulties, and loss of motor skills. Type A is the more severe of situations, not offering ... Type C is often noticed affecting Puerto Ricans, while Type D is frequently observed to affect French Canadians. Type II is most commonly diagnosed with a skin biopsy, in which skin cells would be observed while in the process of moving and storing cholesterol. In Addition, other tests that may be performed are: bone marrow aspiration, a liver biopsy, slit lamp eye exam, and sphingomyelinase assays. Miglustat has been given as treatment for Type C patients to decelerate the nervous system symptoms, but there is no treatment yet for Type D. The Theory Of The Mind Body Dualism René Descartes was a French mathematician, scientist, and philosopher of the 16th Century, who, according to the Encyclopedia Britannica, was one of the first to abandon scholastic Aristotelianism and created the first version of the modern mind body dualism or emotion (Encyclopedia Britannica). Born on March 31, 1596, he was dubbed as the Father of Modern Philosophy. His theory on the mind body dualism, also known as Cartesian Dualism, created a stem of the modern problem of the relationship between the mind and body. He created the early version to further explain the interaction of the mind and body, to create a firm foundation that can be explained through science and to prove the existence and goodness of God, and how the soul could be immortal. Along with that, he mentioned that the mind is different from the body. One of the basic thesis of his Cartesian Dualism is that a mental substance cannot have a physical form, and that said physical form cannot have experiences , for the mind and body cannot function without the other (Chin Tai Kim 337). In his Cartesian Dualism, René Descartes believes that every human being possesses a body and mind (Nath 1). Though, there are some philosophers who might have agreed, disagreed or criticized about his theory. Philosophers such as Gilbert Ryle, critiqued about the Descartes Cartesian Dualism, for he believes that the principle of Descartes Dualism theory is not valid enough and full of problems. • 17. The New England And The Chesapeake Colonies Essay European nations vigorously began to take over the newly discovered Americas throughout most of the 16th century leading into the 17th century. England was very forceful in pushing out multiple groups of people to the eastern coast of what is now known as North America. At that time there were only two prominent regions in North America, they were known then as the New England and the Chesapeake colonies. These two colonies would eventually band together to stand as one nation, but that was toward the end of the 17th century. The beginning tells a completely different story, both colonies had very different beliefs on what the exact reason may have been for the settlers to come to the New World. They lived very different lives because of this. A lot of these differences affected them politically in who they followed, socially in who they spoke with, and economically in who they would do business with. Connecticut, Plymouth, Rhode Island, Massachusetts Bay Colony, and New Haven all made up the region that was New England. It laid just north of the colony of Chesapeake. The New Englanders wanted and longed for religious freedom. They were known as Puritan Separatists, they wanted complete separation from the Church of England. Protestantism was an evolution that thrived in England once the Church separated from Catholicism. These people wanted to turn toward Calvinism, because of this they began to be called Separatists . • 18. The United States Of America And Spain Essay The late 1800s was a high tension and tumultuous time for both the United States of America and Spain. Spanish Colonialism had long been receding from its once powerful stronghold in the 16th and 17th centuries, and in the 1890s, the United States would make certain to diminish the last of Spain s outlets. The precedent for the American, superpower perspective of the late 1800s is in large part due to President James Monroe s Doctrine establishing the United States as the sole entity of social, political, and economic interest in the Western Hemisphere. The Monroe Doctrine clearly spells out that any territorial advances (or in this case, any territorial claims, whatsoever) would be recognized as an act of aggression and the U.S. would act accordingly (hint, hint war). This document shaped the United States as the sole enforcer of both commerce and democracy in the Western Hemisphere in the minds of its constituents. Thusly, it is the least bit unusual to see President McKinley asking to declare war against the Spanish in defense of his country s interest. President William McKinley s Declaration of War is written to the Congress of the United States as a plea to go to war in defense of American interests and the Cuban people. The document was written in 1898, and its objective was simple: persuade Congress to allow him to declare war. Although the document may shape William McKinley as a strong proponent of the now called Spanish American War, he very much wished to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In both, the discovery of something unknown or unfamiliar changes the characters views on the world, especially after being exposed to something so different to what you have spent your whole life knowing. In Fahrenheit 451, Montag, a man whose job as a fireman was to rid of books by setting them on fire, met a young girl named Clarisse, who talked to him about the time when firemen put out fires instead of starting them, and read and wrote books instead of trying to eliminate all of them. When Montag learned this, he became rather curious and began collecting books and hiding them in his home to read and try to discover the meanings books held. He found that the reason society feared it so much was because the books writing could trigger negative emotions like sadness. Still, he wanted to show society that there is nothing wrong with that, and that books need to be brought back. Doing this meant putting his reputation in jeopardy, but having begun to see how ignorant society was, he couldn t sit and pretend to be happy with it. Society was trying so hard to create a utopia and avoid facing reality that they didn t stop to see how much of the world they were missing out on. Charles Dickens And The Victorian Era Charles Dickens and the Victorian Era The various themes and ideas of the Victorian era are perfectly showcased in the many novels and short stories of Charles Dickens. The writers of the Victorian era produced an enormous amount of the greatest novels to ever be written those that were realistic, thickly plotted, crowded with characters, and long. They, more often than not, showed the characteristics of the different social classes in society. Generally humorous, most books were targeted to the middle, as they could relate to them the most easily. Dickens own works have extensive plots woven throughout each of them, one in particular being that of Bleak House. That novel is considered to be Dickens longest and contains a grand total of fifty characters, all of which are interconnected by some standard. Its plot surrounds a mysterious murder and lawsuit. A large portion of Dickens inspiration for his works came from his own childhood and adolescence. He was born Charles John Huffam Dickens to parents John and Elizabeth on February 7, 1812. Charles was the second of their eight children. As a child, the family employed two servants. One was named Mary Weller, and she was instrumental in Charles life. By Shyam Kottegoda In this research paper I m going to describe about theater production technology which it is using digital production and how it is saturate to the mise en scene. Cinematic theater is term of using digital projection in contemporary theatre. That can be briefly described as a fusion of live performance and the magic of the big screen. By utilizing the best dramatic devices that each art form has to covey a story and entertain an audience; the possibilities to create interesting narratives and stage dynamics through the synergy of stage and cinematic design is exciting. The applications are only limited by your imagination and ability to position the projector. Some examples include: a window space to see outside, a mirror to show symbolic representations of character, floor space to create a pool of water, smoke, curtains etc. Lighting design: It is important when incorporating video into live performance that you consider the effect of lights on the screen surface. One difficulty in setting lights is that they can significantly degrade the brightness and colour of the screen images if there is light either directly hitting or bouncing from the floor onto the screen. One solution is to set the screen up from the floor and placing some blocks/staging in front to block some of the bouncing light. When considering colour gels it is imperative to consider colours used in the screen images and try to match them as well as possible to give a blended effect. Mise en scène Mise en scène is a French term and originates in the theater. It means, literally, put in the scene. For film, it has a broader meaning, and refers to almost everything that goes into the composition of the shot, including the composition itself: framing, movement of the camera and characters, lighting, set design and gen earl visual environment, even sound as it helps ... • 43. Stingless Bee Essay It is believed that the bees have appeared on Earth about 125 million years ago in conjunction to Angiosperms. The tribe Meliponini or native bees (Hymenoptera, Apidae) comprises about 300 species that in addition to obtaining food resources in plant species, they use them as a shelter. In Brazil these bees are found in all ecosystems, and the Caatinga, despite environmental limitations, comprises the largest number of stingless bees worldwide. The presence and the quality of the arboreal vegetation present in an area is essential to the establishment of the stingless bees, showing an urgent demand for research on these animals and their interactions in the places where they occur. Therefore, this chapter aimed to evaluate the prevalence of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This was obvious in countries such as China, Taiwan, Mexico, Egypt and Russia. it was stated that GDP fell to 3.8% in the U.S. The impact of recession on employment may not be felt for some time. Investigation in Britain shows that low skilled, low educated workers and the immature are in a weak position to unemployment in a downturn. It took Britain five years for unemployment to go back to its initial levels. From 2000 to 2003, the Federal Reserve lowered their target rates. They then raised the funds rate significantly between July 2004 and July 2006. This added to an increase in number of years to the adjustable rate mortgage rates and made it more expensive for homeowners. As a result, this may have also contributed to the deflating of the housing bubble. Gross Domestic Product declined at an in the last two years in the United States. When GDP collapses, economic growth will also plunge. This is as a result of fewer goods being manufactured and therefore the rate of exports will reduce. It is said that when exports decrease, it will not have sufficient funds to accommodate any growth in the economy what so ever. As a result in the decline in GDP, employment rate will sooner or later begin to drop. As a result of the credit crunch, consumers have less purchasing power therefore ... Indigenous inhabitants who did not use the conventional way of recording events, that is, writing, has been overlooked from time and time. Nomads for instance, orally passed information from one generation to another, but without actual tangible evidence where information can be verified. It also does not help their case that we tend to focus on history that are agricultural but most importantly, has resonance with the modern world, which Nomads, both are not (Dickinson, January 2017). Also, some expert s claim that African Empires were contained within lands and their ship based exports were only to Europe, especially after colonization. However, contrary to popular belief, Westerners were not the leaders of navigational progress and European ships of the 15th century, were not superior than those centuries earlier. Navigational knowledge of Spaniards of this time was elementary and seamen were considerably ignorant on navigation according to Columbus (Van Sertima, p.57). Normally, I would not generalize and that there may be some exceptions, but Columbus is said to have spearheaded trans Atlantic navigation, thus, him saying that Europeans were poor in navigation ought to have considerable weight. Europeans came into possession of such skills during the Renaissance (Daniels/ Hyslop, p.) of the 14th century. Such maritime technologies necessary to cross the Atlantic has been available to other non Western civilizations suchlike the system of longitudinal and latitudinal coordinates that has been available in China since 100 B.C., lateen sail hoisted by Spain and Portugal which came from the Arabs, and the astrolabe, which originated in ancient Greeks, but was diffused and developed for years also came from the Arabs (Van Sertima, pg.57). Zheng He, a successful and famous Chinese commander is said to have navigated decades before Columbus, judging from the year Ma Huan s compilation finished in 1451 (Mills, p.137 141). Furthermore, Africans themselves navigated the Atlantic prior to Christ (Van Sertima, p.57). • 46. The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program Bullying Prevention There are many social problems in the US and throughout the world today. One of the most significant of those problems is bullying (Macfarlane McPherson, 2004). More than 160,000 children avoid school each day because they are concerned about being bullied or because they have been bullied and are too afraid to go to school (Macfarlane McPherson, 2004). Cyberbullying the use of a computer or other electronic device to bully someone is also on the increase. That can be harder to avoid, and children have even taken their own lives because of the harassment. Nearly three million students are bullied through the internet every year (Macfarlane McPherson, 2004). The number of children who are bullied gets larger each year, as does the number of children who bully others. There are many reasons children are bullied, and just as many reasons that children bully other children, but the main concern is how to stop the problem and keep all children safe. Bullying can leave a serious imprint on the overall performance of students, and can also affect their personalities (Phye Sanders, 2004). Because of the seriousness of the bullying issue, there have been several bullying prevention programs launched in order to help students feels safer both physically and emotionally (Phye Sanders, 2004). The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program is one such program. It is designed to prevent bullying activities in schools and protect students from harm. Bullying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Pros And Cons Of Ex-Convicts According to Steve Chapman, a syndicated columnist and editorial writer at the Chicago Tribune, Depriving ex convicts of the ballot is a mindless form of punishment that only discourages them from becoming upstanding members of the community. Chapman makes the point that if it is thought that ex convicts cannot change after serving time in prison, why let them out? If we allow ex convicts to own property, drive cars, marry, reproduce, etc., why can t we trust them when it comes to choosing our leaders? Roger Clegg, JD, the President and General Counsel of the Center for Equal Opportunity, challenges Chapman s beliefs by stating in a debate held by the Legal Affairs Debate Club that there is a reason we do not allow children, noncitizens, or the mentally challenged to vote. Their judgment cannot be trusted when it comes to our leaders. Clegg believes ex convicts should be placed in the same category. Although I agree with Clegg up to a point, I cannot accept his overriding assumption that ex convicts should be placed in the same category as children, noncitizens, and the mentally challenged. Going back to Chapman s statement, if we do not trust ex convicts to change and become better people after serving their time, we would not let them out. In reality, they are trusted. ... This was a bomb that fell from high above the earth, penetrated the ground, exploded, and caused an earthquake. It was used towards the end of the war, on massively reinforced installations, underground caverns, buried tunnels, and bridges. Some of Wallis bombs based on the Earthquake Bomb were used to disable the German V2 factory, bury V3 guns, sink Tirpitz, the battleship, and other previously undamageable targets.
