Luther s Coming To Grace Summary
The film starts amid an electrical storm in 1505, as Luther is coming back to his home. Inspired by a
paranoid fear of losing his life in the tempest, Luther confers his life to God and turns into an
Augustinian priest. In the following scene, it is 1507 and Luther is a priest at St. Augustine s Religious
community in Erfurt. Amid his chance at the religious community, he is always pained by survey God
as a Divine force of loathe and retribution. Martin is supported by Johann von Staupitz, a more
established priest who is his boss and guide. Staupitz advises Luther to look to Christ rather than
himself. Later Luther conveys a letter for Staupitz to Rome, where he ends up noticeably harried by
the underhanded ways of life of those in the city. He additionally sees the skull accepted to be that of
John the Baptist and buys a liberality. It is amid this time Luther starts to scrutinize the veracity of
liberalities. Coming back to Germany, Luther is sent to Wittenberg, where he starts to show his
gathering that God is not a Lord of loathe, but rather a Divine force of affection. Luther starts to
underline the adoration for God rather than his judgment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(The returns will be utilized to fabricate St. Dwindle s Basilica in Rome, and to recoup the
Hohenzollern fixes to the Sacred See, progressed by Fugger, for the inauguration of Ecclesiastical
overseer Albert of Mainz and Magdeburg). In his congregation, Luther condemns the liberalities,
calling them only a bit of paper. He at that point posts his 95 postulations on the entryway of the
congregation, requiring an open verbal confrontation in regards to the liberalities. For this
demonstration, Luther is called to Augsburg, where he is addressed by chapel

Virginia Commonwealth University Personal Statement
It was dark and there were so many noises around me as I slowly woke up and recalled I was in a
hospital with abdominal pain. I then heard a familiar voice say Sweetie, wake up! Wake up! I opened
my eyes to a blurry image of my mother. Shhh... don t make any noises. We re leaving now. Just act
like you are fine. We ll try to sneak out before anyone notices , my mother said. She explained later
that she could not afford to pay hospital bills, so we had to leave before any physician checked over.
Living in Vietnam, I was filled with resentment towards their healthcare system, as people were
rejected treatment and left to perish in the streets. As a child, I therefore never considered medicine as
a career. My spark for medicine was unforeseen until I went on a high school field trip at INOVA
Fairfax Hospital in Virginia. Hovering over the glass ceiling of the operating theater, I watched
doctors performing coronary bypass surgery while witnessing the heart beat stronger and stronger. At
this magical moment, I was overwhelmed by the power of medicine to save people s lives. ... Show

The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 Essay
The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 was one of the largest disasters in American history. Practically
overnight the great city of Chicago was destroyed. Before the fire there was a large drought causing
everything to be dry and flammable, then a fire broke out in the O Leary s barn and spread throughout
the city. Many attempts were made to put out the fire but there were too many errors and problems in
the beginning. After the fire many people were left homeless and had to help build their city again
(Murphy, 39)

by the North to the South in the Civil War. No one is sure how the fire started, but the O Learys were
the scapegoats and got a lot of bad treatment after the fire (126). The fire spread from the O Learys
barn to the yards nearby. Soon it was spreading throughout the neighborhood. William Lee, a neighbor
a block away, saw the fire and ran to Bruno Goll s drugstore to turn in the fire alarm. Bruno Goll
refused to turn in the alarm because he said the fire truck had already gone past. So instead of arguing,
Lee went home to his family. At the courthouse the lookout on duty saw smoke, but thought nothing
of it, thinking it was just Saturday s fire and there was no reason to be alarmed. Then he looked up and
noticed it was a different fire and had his assistant strike the Box 342 for the fire department. Soon fire
trucks were at the scene and attempted to put out the fire. The fire department s Chief Marshal, Robert

No One Will Steal My Car Because It s An Old Clunker
Car theft usually happens when you least expect it. You may be walking to your car after a hard day at
the job only to find an empty spot where you thought you left it. As you walk through the parking lot,
hoping against hope that you may have parked it in another spot, the awful feeling finally sinks home:
your car was stolen. Unfortunately, this all too common experience happens to many people because
they weren t prepared. They thought it couldn t happen to them because they acted on common car
misconceptions about theft that left them without a car. Here are three of them: No One Will Steal My
Car Because It s an Old Clunker There are at least two reasons why this is a myth. First, old cars are
easier to steal because they lack the latest anti theft technology of the newest cars. While it s true that
smart thieves do find ways of defeating state of the art anti theft devices, there are fewer of them
around. It s basically a bell shaped curve thing. The more smarts required to steal a car, the fewer the
thieves around with the required smarts. The rest simply go after easy targets like your old clunker.
The second reason is that professional thieves often prefer older cars because ... Show more content on

Analysis Of Mr. Postag197v1
Mr. Linden, Leigh began in a rather defeated tone, I came to the city from uptown this morning,
however, I find I have fallen into a bit of a predicament. Somewhere in her mind, she wondered why
she was telling a complete stranger her problems, but the forefront was focused on just how desperate
she actually was. And what is that predicament? His voice seemed all to knowing as if he had found
out her problem from another before she could even say the words. Leigh s face was rosy, not wanting
to admit defeat quite yet. You d laugh if I told you, she said bashfully, looking away from his gaze that
seemed to bore into her. Mr. Linden smiled softly, almost a look of pity in his expression, at her
actions, but went along with them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It did not exactly hurt her in the way it might for another, it made curiosity coarse through her veins.
She looked between Mr. Linden, moving toward her with cautious movements as one might do with a
frightened animal and back down to the sleek cover of the book. There was not a speck of dust on the
book, a large difference to the others in the room as if it had been cleaned each day. Her thoughts
began to roll like thunder in her mind, the loudest screaming a chorus of why? . She knew regret
would fill her as soon as she betrayed the man s trust, however, she thrived off of impulsive choices.
With one last look at Mr. Linden, giving him a note of a silent apology, she flung back the cover
letting the pages tumble open. The book flew apart as if it had sprung to life and she dropped the
object onto the table with a scream, continuing to watch it closely as the parchment kept turning.
Leigh looked wildly at Mr. Linden who was frozen in place, staring slack jawed at the table, eyes
glossed over as if he was not looking at all. Within the seconds of their exchange, it seemed as if the
pages had begun to grow greener; their pictures looked so realistic she could mistake them for
something real. A real crop of stems sprouting from the center, perhaps, with teeny leaves on every
inch so delicate that they were barely the size of her thumb. Leigh blinked twice, then once more for
good measure. It was as if

Synthesis and Analysis of Iron(III) Oxalate Complex Discussion
This experiment initially involved the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate complex with the general
formula Kw[Fex(C2O4)y] zH2O. The variables x, y, and z were determined
through the duration of the entire experiment. Part 1 involves the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate
complex. The iron is first presented in its Fe2+ form, so it must first be oxidized to
Fe3+ before the oxalate ion will readily bind to it. Hydrogen peroxide is the oxidant of choice: 2Fe2+
(aq) + H2O2 (l) + 2H+ (aq) 2Fe3+ (aq) + 2H2O (l), in acidic solution.
The oxalate ion is then free to coordinate to the Fe3+ ion, forming a ... Show more content on

Part 2 of this experiment invoked the use of redox
titrating to determine the oxalate content (C2O42 ) of the salt. An aqueous solution of the iron oxalate
salt is prepared for titration, and the oxalate content is found through analysis
by measuring the volume of titrant.
Part 3 of the experiment utilized Spectrophotometry to determine the iron content in the iron (III)
oxalate complex. The results were combined with findings from Part 1 and
Part 2 to determine the empirical formula and percentage yield of the compound synthesized in Part 1.
Spectrophotometry is a routine laboratory test that has the added advantage
of being able to analyze multiple samples in a short amount of time. The most efficient way of
determining concentration is to prepare a set of standard solutions of known
concentration, record the absorbance readings at a fixed wavelength, and plot the absorbance vs.
concentration data. The wavelength of 520 nm was selected for experiment Part
3 because this is the maximum absorbance for the iron (III) ion. The Beer s Law Plot that was graphed
came out to be linear with an equation of:
Absorbance = 5.395 x 10^3(Fe^+2 Bipy) 0.0014.
The empirical formula that was determined was different from that of the true compound mentioned.
The empirical formula determined was:
K3[Fe(C2O4^ 2)3] 3 H2O
If had there been a better alternate method to determining the iron

Borge s Use of Berkeley s Idealism Essay
Borge s Use of Berkeley s Idealism
Jorge Luis Borges drew upon a number of philosophical and intellectual models in his writing, one of
which is George Berkeley s subjective idealism. In Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius, Borges paints a picture
of a perfect reality governed by Berkeley s idea that matter only exists in perception, and in The
Circular Ruins, he presents a man who creates a boy who cannot exist independent of his perception.
However, by employing Berkeley s logic in these stories, Borges is in fact denying Berkeley s ultimate
purpose: the justification of the existence of God.
In almost all of his work, Berkeley s fundamental goal is to logically disprove any thinking that
presumes the non existence of God (Muehlmann ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We may even assert that the existence of God is far more evidently perceived than the existence of
men; because the effects of Nature are infinitely more numerous and considerable, than those ascribed
to human agents. (Principles 109)
Borges uses the same theory and logic in his writing, but he aims instead to pick apart this assumption
of God.
The philosophy of Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius is described by one critic as a kind of ultra Berkeleyan
idealism according to which the only realities are mental perceptions (Dunham 36). On Tlön, there is
no concept of space or matter and, there are no nouns in their languages, only verbs and adjectives. In
effect, Borges uses subjective idealism to break down reality. Borges writes: The nations of that planet
are congenitally idealist. Their language, with its derivatives religion, literature, and metaphysics
presupposes idealism (Borges 23).
A system of geometry on Tlön rejects the principle of parallelism, and states that, as man moves
about, he alters the forms which surround him (Borges 28). This is perhaps an answer to a question
Philonous poses to Hylas:
Since all sensible qualities, as size, figure, colour, etc. that is, our ideas are continually changing upon
every alteration in the distance, medium, or instruments of sensation; how can any determinate

Germany as a Victim
Germany as a Victim
On the 16th June the German government, lead by Count Brockdorff Rantzau, were presented with the
Treaty of Versailles. They were originally given 14, and then 21 days, to agree to it. The treaty, which
included some 440 Articles, was not as vindictive as Clemenceau had wanted nor as moderate as
Lloyd George would have wished. It certainly fell far short of the conciliatory features of Wilson s
fourteen point proposals. (Evans and Jenkins) However, in order to decipher whether the end results
were destructive to Germany or not, it is necessary to asses not only the main points of the treaty

The most obvious term was the return of Alsace Lorraine to France. Schleswig was also returned to
Denmark after it had been annexed by Bismark. Also Eupen and Malmedy were to go to Belgium.
This act is thought to be justified by the fact that much of Belgiums industry was destroyed during to
war, whilst Germany remained relatively untouched. The Saar Basin was also to be overseen by the
League of Nations, the Saar coalfield by France, for fifteen years. This amounted to 13% of German

Infection control
Protective clothing including masks, gloves, gowns and goggles should be worn when coming into
contact with an infected person. The US Centres for Disease Control (CDC) recommend that the
protective gear leaves no skin exposed. These measures should be carried out for those who may
handle objects contaminated by an infected person s body fluids. In 2014, the CDC began
recommending that medical personnel receive training on the proper suit up and removal of personal
protective equipment (PPE); in addition, a designated person, appropriately trained in biosafety,
should be watching each step of these procedures to ensure they are done correctly. The typical
training period for the use of such safety equipment lasted approximately 12 days in Sierra Leone.
The infected person should be in separated from other people. All equipment, medical waste, patient
waste and surfaces that may have come into contact with body fluids need to be disinfected. During
the 2014 outbreak, kits were put together to help families treat Ebola disease in their homes, which
include protective clothing as well as chlorine powder and other cleaning supplies. Education of those
who provide care in these techniques, and the establishment of such barrier separation supplies has
been a priority of Doctors without Borders.

Language, Subsistence Practices, Kinship And Descent,...
In this paper I will be discussing in depth the Maori people. I will include a short background and a
quick summary of history and then describe a few aspects of their culture including: language,
subsistence practices, kinship and descent, marriage and household, beliefs and worship, and a unique
cultural practice.
The Maori, culturally Polynesians, are the indigenous inhabitants of New Zealand. The people who
call themselves the Maori are originally from the Polynesian islands and settled in New Zealand
around the 13th century. The tribes of the Maori did not identify themselves by a collective name until
European settlers arrived and then the use of the name Maori, which means ordinary came into use.
The Maori today make up about 15% (565,329 people) of New Zealand s population with the majority
living in urban area, while there are still few who live in the ancestral tribal areas. Many also live
overseas with 70,000 in Australia and 10,000 in England.
Around 1300 AD, a great migration of people set sail for what is now New Zealand. These people
came in seven very large canoes called Waka which were built to withstand rough seas and carry many
people including all of their possessions over long journeys. The present day Maori people can trace
their origins to the various Waka. The settlers from each Waka separated into tribes called iwi . As
time went on and population grew, the people spread out through the land and created a social

Comparably, in 1800s America, the Native Americans of Ohio Valley, led by Tecumseh and the

The Women Of Beauty
Women across the globe face this pressure to live up to a certain standard of beauty. Women will dye
their hair, wax their eyebrows, and some even spend thousands of dollars on plastic surgery, all in an
attempt to fit society s perception of beauty. African American women and women of color in
particular struggle to embrace their own unique beauty, especially when dealing with things such as
skin complexion, hair, and Afrocentric facial features. People have grown up in a society that leads
them to believe that beauty can be achieved if you have fair skin, straight hair, or having the ideal
body Societies views on what is attractive, can persuade another person s views on attraction.
Attraction is partially biological, but also social. Which is why it is important to have a vast selection
of beautiful women to show case that not only Eurocentric features are attractive. African American
women and other women of color need more representations of women that look like them in the

Essay Malaria
Malaria (also called biduoterian fever, blackwater fever, falciparum malaria, plasmodium, Quartan
malaria, and tertian malaria) is one of the most infectious and most common diseases in the world.
This serious, sometimes fatal disease is caused by a parasite that is carried by a certain species of
mosquito called the Anopheles. It claims more lives every year than any other transmissible disease
except tuberculosis. Every year, five hundred million adults and children (around nine percent of the
world s population) contract the disease and of these, one hundred million people die. Children are
more susceptible to the disease than adults, and in Africa, where ninety percent of the world s cases

To contract malaria, a mosquito, but not just any mosquito must bite a human. The only type of
mosquito that can infect humans with the malaria virus is the Anopheles mosquito. While there are
around three hundred eighty species of the Anopheline mosquito, only about sixty are actually able to
spread the disease to humans. Also, only female mosquitoes can distribute the disease, as male
mosquitoes do not feed on humans.
Mosquitoes pass malaria to humans through their salivary glands. Once the parasites have entered the
blood stream, they go to the liver. In the liver they mature and undergo reproduction, forming
merozoites. These merozoites enter the blood stream and inject themselves into red blood cells. Once
inside the blood cells, they reproduce rapidly and within forty eight to seventy two hours, the blood
cell bursts, releasing hemoglobin into the blood stream. It is the destruction of these blood cells and
the hemoglobin released into the blood stream that actually causes most of the symptoms.
While the most common way malaria is transmitted is from mosquitoes to humans, there are other
ways of catching the disease. One way is from mother to her unborn child. When a disease is
contracted this way it is said to have been transmitted congenitally. Another way is during blood
transfusions. This is why it is important to be tested for

the power system network to provide the necessary infrastructure to cater smart grid requirements.
PMUs provide time synchronized measurement of voltage and current phasors (Phadke and Thorp
2008) from different nodes of the power system network, which is used for monitoring and control.
NASPI (March 2015) and NERC (September 2016) suggest use of phasor data from the PMUs to
perform verification of dynamic models as well as validating parameters of power plant models. A
parameter identification toolbox for power system models developed using the ... Show more content

The mismatch in PMU measurements and dynamic simulators lead to anomalous result for application
such as event location, oscillation detection, islanding detection, and dynamic line rating as indicated
in (Zhao et al. 2015). While PMUs can measure and time synchronize the output phasor with great
accuracy, the internal signal processing may utilize several cycles of the input signal measurements to
calculate each phasor values. Thus, even if the PMU report phasor each cycle, the measurements is not
representative of the current cycle but of a number of the preceding and following cycles depending
on the sliding window of data used for the phasor estimation. This typically smooths out/filters faster
changes that may be present in the simulation output, rendering PMU output not comparable to
simulated response for the same disturbance when fast changing responses are present (applicable for
a very small time constant parameters in the model of the physical system). Phasor estimation can be
performed in electromagnetic simulators in which point of wave signal is available. Phasor estimation
of a point of wave signal is applied in electromagnetic simulator using enhanced DFT based algorithm
in (Romano, Pignati, and Paolone 2015). A mechanism for streaming simulated phasors from TSAT in
C37.118 format is proposed in (Zheng, Howell, and Wang 2015). However, these phasors do not

What Is The Purpose Of King Arthur
Introduction The choice of subject is based on the importance of Arthur s figure and characteristics in
medieval times and the fact that the Arthurian legend has inspired heaps of literature in the times after
the legend was first published. This synopsis uses the recognizable themes and symbols as a starting
point for the analysis and discusses whether the famous legend has had purpose and an influence.
Statement of purpose The purpose of this assignment as well as the chosen topic is to investigate the
literary figure of King Arthur. There will be a primary focus on how the authors of medieval times
interpreted the developing figure Arthur, and how perennial themes as well as capturing human traits

Game 3 Game Analysis
The basic way that I used to make profit is Trade on spread. I would take a long or short position
based on the dynamic difference between the spot price and future price. Normally, I am willing to
trade on the size of 20 contracts to ensure that I have sufficient margin to use when I firstly make a
loss on these contracts. Some other matters will be explained in the following games that I have
played in my personal game order.
In Game 2, what I need to do is try to avoid trade losses and achieve net profits at the end of the game.
At the beginning, the spot price and future price were a bit sticky to each other, the future price
fluctuated within 10 cents for quite a long time, so I chose to sell(buy) it at the higher(lower) price and
then to buy(sell) it at the relative lower (higher)price to make a small profit. In session 2, I made a loss
based on my wrong expectation so I should take a bit more risk to recover my losses in later sessions.
For example, If I short many contracts but the market is going up and the basis is widening, then I
need to buy the contracts to close my position as soon as possible, at the same time, I will long more
contracts and sell them when the market go further high to cover my losses and make profits.
In Game 3, I would be riskier to make profit. I take a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I made the trade in every session to catch the opportunity for profits. The main thing is that I want big
profit, which means I should focus on a long term position and increase my trade size as well. In facts,
If I see the basis keeps widening because the decrease of spot price is larger than the decrease of
future price, I will sell the contracts right away. However, it is not serious if I make a loss just because
of the fluctuation of future price, what I can do is to wait next session begin and buy the contracts to
close my position when the market falls further based on my right

Engstrom Mirror Plant
Milestone 2 Engstrom Auto Mirror Plant: Root Cause Case Study Analysis Sharon McClain SNHU
The Engstrom Auto Mirror plant is located in Richmond, Indiana and employs around 200 or more
people. The plant has been going through some changes over the last few years and has seen a decline
in employee motivation. The focus today will be to determine some of the root causes of the problems
facing the plant from an organizational view and a human behavior issue. The bottom line is
determining how to solve the issues the company is facing and move forward. Some of the questions
that will need to be answered is, why is motivation at an all time low, is the Scanlon plan benefiting
everyone in the company and can the plan be revamped with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Many employees felt they were doing all of the work and should get the bonuses, not management.
This plan led to the employees feeling as though they were not treated fairly because of the many rate
changes. The employees did not have input into the plan and felt management was playing games with
the formula. Most of us like to be valued as an employee and a person. This plan did not allow the
employees to feel this way. As the morale dropped, so did production and from there, the bonuses
dwindled. Instead of looking at themselves for the lack of bonuses, they blamed management. Their
lack of understanding on the rate changes did not help the process. According to Maslow s Hierarchy,
the employees needs were not met and frustration created tension, which created low to no production.
The company faced major decisions and needed this situation to be resolved quickly. The managers
faced a crisis and needed a solution before the plant was forced to close its doors and have to lay off
the employees. The Scanlon plan created problems within the company and questions had to be
formulated and put into place to be addressed before any major decisions could be made. Although the
Scanlon plan was a good plan, it was not a one size fits all plan. Changes needed to be made and what
type of changes had to be addressed. Some of the other difficulties facing the company was, no

Effects Of Communist Manifesto On Human Values
The Effects of Karl Marx s Communist Manifesto on Human Values
What was it like living in the times before the Communist Manifesto was introduced to society? What
kind of affect did this document have on the values of the average family? How did it influence the
values of the individual? Sometimes these values where affected in a way that does not come directly
from the release of the Manifesto but instead vicariously through other events brought on by the
document. Overall, an interesting topic to look at is what it meant to be human in the 1840 s. France is
representative of European nations at that time. Through France, the effects of the Communist
Manifesto on human values are evident.

Likewise, many of the old workers had been thrown out of employment, 3 and these numbers only
grew into the year of 1848. In a way Marx talks about this problem in the Communist Manifesto. In
this document, Marx introduced his idea to incorporate socialism into the government before
communism. This is mainly because socialism would prepare the way by nationalizing the means of
production and putting them under the control of those he viewed as the sole producers of wealth: the
workers. 4 This would take the control out of the hands of the wealthy and it would be given to those
people that had been the poorest in the previous years. His goal was to get the common people to have
a changed view of work once they started to be in charge of the producing of goods. This way, there
would be no rich and no poor, only economic equality would result.
Marx was intent on the subject of human change. Marx was often confronted with the charge that he
was trying to change human nature. However, his rebuttal was that human nature [had] changed many
times in the past, 5 and that it was possible to change it again. He acknowledged that it would have to
be a gradual change, but it was able to change. After all, we as humans are products of our
environment, particularly of the economic system in which we live. 6 The government and its actions

One of the obstacles that Sonny faced was the trial and error process that happened when Sonny and
the rest of the rocket boys were launching their rockets. Many of their rockets flew off course at
people, cars, and buildings, which had many people thinking that the boys should not be allowed to

their rockets blew up before ever lifting off of the ground. These problems made them have to find out
what went wrong and would make them spend hours trying to fix the problem. They did get through

When it finally hits bottom we give it two or three reels up. We turn the fish locator on and it glows
with action at all of the fish. My face lit up knowing that fish are down there. We then drop the trolling
motor down and gave the remote a few clicks. Slowly the boat glided into motion. As we troll along I
gave my new pole a few jigs. My uncle says he has one on. Suddenly, there was tapping at the end of
my fishing rod. I let some line out and the fish takes it. I gave it a pull and set the hook. My fish

Personal Theory
Alfred Adler was born in 1870 in Austria and developed his own theory on Individual Psychology in
1912. Adler s theory is closely related to Humanistic Psychology. Influenced by Freud, Smuts and
Vaihinger, Adler based his theory on the client s ability to live as a fully functioning adult in society.
Adler s holistic theory views each person as unified. Adler discussed birth order personality traits.
Adler s theory also discussed the roles therapists should take and the techniques that should be used in
Individual Psychology therapy sessions.
A major difference in Adlerian psychology compared to Freudian is the client is viewed as lacking
courage, instead of being mentally ill in Freud s theory. Adler s belief, that a person s consciousness is
the center of their personality differed from Freud s belief. (Wood, 2004). Adler agreed with Freud
that gratification is a central need but Adler goes on to also imply that clients have needs for power,
security, self esteem, achievement and social welfare. Day (2008) emphasizes that people can decide
how to state their needs, but may not be able to be in charge of their needs.
Furthermore, Adler had different viewpoints regarding

Women # 39
WOMEN IN HISTORY
AMELIA SHAHAN
CRITICAL ANALYSIS ESSAY 1
COLUMBIA COLLEGE
In the late 19th and early 20th century it was found that women were not being found in historical
texts. During the 1950 s and 1960 s there was interest in women s suffering, but there would not be a
true movement until the late 1960 s with the Women s Liberation Movement Success. What started out
as a tea party of four female friends in 1848 turned into a movement.
The Women s Liberation Movement sought to change the lack of history of women and to keep the
promise of a better future for women. They first wrote the Declaration of Sentiments , using the
Declaration of Independence as a guide. In this were 18 grievances. The Women s Liberation

Even with the growth of research, women history was still seen as separate from main history. In the
1990 s a call for a history based on gender so that a focus of both could be understood. A gender
centered history can be controversial to some feminists, the concern is that women experiences may
be lost. (Mary Menard, 1995)
Various groups have now formed to help expand women s history. The Women s History Network was
created for all those who are interested in Women History. We see Women history today in modern
curriculum. Professors who focus on Women s History has also increased. With opportunists for
women in higher education that is a trend that shall continue. Women s history is constantly
developing and change will continue with this third wave of activism.

Big Impacts On My Childhood
When I think of big impacts on my childhood, heroes are definitely near the top. Whether it was
Legolas from Lord of the Rings or Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, I wanted to save the world. Maybe that
s why I fell in love with comics early on. I wanted the admiration from my peers that these heroes got
from me, and yet, the world doesn t work that way. I realized pretty quickly that it wasn t like in the
movies and comics. The world didn t exist to give you a pat on the back whenever you did a good
deed. Maybe that s why from the moment I picked up my first XMEN comic, I fell in love. FINALLY
there were heroes who lived in a more realistic society. The world they protected, shunned them. They
were spat on by those they saved. Here I was, a geeky, straight A, small, spindly little fourth grader
with glasses and flood pants who had always tried to be the hero. Finally I had found a group of
people who were as unappreciated as I felt. It seems as though many others felt that way too, and
quickly Xmen became Marvels crowning glory, yet as the newest generation rolls in, Marvel has had a
stroke of luck with a film deal of the Avengers series, and of course the population eats it up. It seems
as though Marvel has been putting a lot of effort into anything Avengers since Fox owns the rights to
Xmen. This unfortunate fact makes me bitter because Xmen contains much more positive messaging
for audiences than the currently more successful Avengers. Xmen hasn t been getting much love

Constantine Stanislavsky is the Father of Today s Style...
Stanislavsky is the father of today s style of acting. Constantine Stanislavsky (1863 1938) was the
innovator for method acting. He changed the process of acting in which actors immerse themselves
into their characters as much as possible. He wanted acting to change to a realistic art. Stanislavsky
wanted his actors to avoid habitual mannerisms on stage (Worthen, 33). He used a method that
includes five techniques to help an actor submerge into their characters. The magic if, re education,
observation, motivation and emotional memory are all techniques Stanislavsky used to help mold his
actors (Bradford).
The first technique requires the actor to use their imagination. The magic if requires the actor to ask
themselves what my character would do in this situation. The next technique used is reeducation.
Whether it s being onstage to a live audience or on film, actors need to find a way to display true
human life movement. When figuring out body movement or body language actors must think of
every action as part of their character. Stanislavsky encouraged his students to observe people
whenever possible. He encouraged them to study their physical traits as well as their personality.
Stanislavsky reminded his students that every person is unique and therefore each unique trait should
be exhibited. The technique is a very valuable tool because actors often find inspiration by observing
others. Actors often ask themselves what is my motivation? This process entails a lot of why

Should We Just Ignore It? The divorce rate in the United States is higher than fifty percent today. The
divorce rate continues to increase in America due to many reasons, one of them being that society
today is a disposable society. Back in the day, when someone had a broken shoe he or she would fix it,
and if there was a problem with a couple s marriage, the two would work through it. But today, it is
easier to ignore the problem, throw away what we do not like anymore and move on to the next, which
is not the right way to live. In Lorrie Moore s A Kid s Guide to Divorce , Moore writes about a child

A Documentary On Food, Inc.
Agricultural Misconceptions Body mass index, or BMI, is used by doctors and health physicians to
measure excessively high levels of body fat in relation to lean body mass in an individual. Having a
BMI ratio that is considered above average or too high normally denotes persons at risk to several
health adversities such as heart attacks, liver damage, diabetes, and even more widespread, obesity. In
2005, the United States Department of Health and Human Services estimated that over half of the
adult American population was either overweight or obese, and many of these health concerns were
correlated with a person s diet and type of food consumption. In an attempt to assign blame for the
cause, political and social commentators claim that long standing farm subsidies on particular food
commodities correlate with rising obesity trends in America. In a documentary titled Food, Inc.,
opened to audience in 2008, award winning filmmaker Robert Kenner argues that current agricultural
policies on these subsidized food commodities are allowing major food corporations to mass produce
products that negatively affect the health of consumers nationwide. He contends that commodity crops
such as corn, wheat, and soybeans are heavily subsidized by the government to produce snack foods
that are high in calorie content but low in cost, becoming the prime choice for Americans looking for
cheap and readily available foods to eat. Kenner believes that government subsidies need to either be

According to some reports, nearly 11% of women and 5% of men in the United States are currently
taking one or more anti depressant medications. These medications can truly be life savers, helping
people get through some of the most difficult times in their lives, and there is certainly no shame in
seeking a little help to get through a challenging period. However, most people are uncomfortable
with the idea of taking a mood altering, prescription medication for their entire lives. Some people are
concerned about the potentially unknown, long term side effects of anti depressants. Others just want
to experience life naturally, without any drugs. There are several factors you need to consider before
you make the decision to discontinue anti depressant therapy. First off, ask yourself if your depression
really has gotten better. How has your mood been, generally speaking? Has your appetite returned to
normal, or are you eating considerably more or less than you normally would? Are you sleeping
better? How is your social life? Make sure that your depression really has lifted and that you haven t
just learned to live with the symptoms of depression. If you ve been stable for at least six months, are
feeling confident, have a good support system in place, and have the desire to stop treatment, it may
be time to ask your doctor about stopping your anti depressant therapy. It is very important that you do
not just stop taking your medicine. Your body has gotten used to your medication and abruptly
stopping it could cause serious withdrawal symptoms, including dizziness, nausea, fainting, and even
a return of your depression. Your doctor will likely wean you off of your medicine by gradually
lowering your dose over a period of time, usually a few weeks to a few months. This can be frustrating
for some people who see depression as a chapter in their life that they are eager to close. However, by

During the late 1800 s there was conflict between the Northern and Southern states causing what we
call now the Civil War. This war started due to free and slave states holding different opinions on
whether the government had the power to prohibit slavery in territories that were not yet states.
Abraham Lincoln was elected to office in 1860, pledging to keep slavery out of new territories. After
hearing about this seven southern slave states decided to secede and form a new nation, the
Confederate States of America. The Northern states did not acknowledge the secession fearing the
final outcome would be a division of all the states, this is where the Civil War began. From 1861 up
until 1865 there were many small battles fought ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to five months before Sherman had led the union into Atlanta. Sherman s plan which was revealed in
April, was described to destroy railroads in order to cease the transportation of supplies that
confederate troops needed, as well as make Joseph E. Johnston s army of Confederate soldiers retreat
back to Atlanta forcing them to surrender. A month after on May 5, 1864 Union soldiers attacked
Confederates at Dalton, Georgia and attacked Resaca four days later. On May 12 Johnston led his
soldiers to meet the Union army at Resaca where his army would battle Union soldiers from May 13
to May 15. Although Confederates had driven Union soldiers back on the second day of battle, after
Johnston received reports telling him of the Unions success in gaining position he decided not to
attack on the following morning and instead retreated his soldiers to Calhoun and Adairsville.
Following this evacuation, Confederates were supposed to ambush Union soldiers on Cassville road,
they were all positioned by May 19 in the morning, but the army retreated and waited for Union
soldiers to attack

I then heard a familiar voice say Sweetie, wake up! Wake up! I opened my eyes to a blurry image of my mother. Shhh... don t make any noises. We re leaving now. Just act like you are fine. We ll try to sneak out before anyone notices , my mother said. She explained later that she could not afford to pay hospital bills, so we had to leave before any physician checked over. Living in Vietnam, I was filled with resentment towards their healthcare system, as people were rejected treatment and left to perish in the streets. As a child, I therefore never considered medicine as a career. My spark for medicine was unforeseen until I went on a high school field trip at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Virginia. Many attempts were made to put out the fire but there were too many errors and problems in the beginning. After the fire many people were left homeless and had to help build their city again (Murphy, 39) Before the fire broke out on Sunday night, October 8, 1871 there had been a large drought causing everything to be dry and extremely flammable. No one is sure how the fire started, but the O Learys were the scapegoats and got a lot of bad treatment after the fire (126). The fire spread from the O Learys barn to the yards nearby. Soon it was spreading throughout the neighborhood. William Lee, a neighbor a block away, saw the fire and ran to Bruno Goll s drugstore to turn in the fire alarm. Bruno Goll refused to turn in the alarm because he said the fire truck had already gone past. So instead of arguing, Lee went home to his family. At the courthouse the lookout on duty saw smoke, but thought nothing of it, thinking it was just Saturday s fire and there was no reason to be alarmed. Then he looked up and noticed it was a different fire and had his assistant strike the Box 342 for the fire department. Soon fire trucks were at the scene and attempted to put out the fire. You may be walking to your car after a hard day at the job only to find an empty spot where you thought you left it. As you walk through the parking lot, hoping against hope that you may have parked it in another spot, the awful feeling finally sinks home: your car was stolen. Unfortunately, this all too common experience happens to many people because they weren t prepared. They thought it couldn t happen to them because they acted on common car misconceptions about theft that left them without a car. Here are three of them: No One Will Steal My Car Because It s an Old Clunker There are at least two reasons why this is a myth. First, old cars are easier to steal because they lack the latest anti theft technology of the newest cars. While it s true that smart thieves do find ways of defeating state of the art anti theft devices, there are fewer of them around. It s basically a bell shaped curve thing. The more smarts required to steal a car, the fewer the thieves around with the required smarts. The rest simply go after easy targets like your old clunker. His voice seemed all to knowing as if he had found out her problem from another before she could even say the words. Leigh s face was rosy, not wanting to admit defeat quite yet. She looked between Mr. Linden, moving toward her with cautious movements as one might do with a frightened animal and back down to the sleek cover of the book. There was not a speck of dust on the book, a large difference to the others in the room as if it had been cleaned each day. Her thoughts began to roll like thunder in her mind, the loudest screaming a chorus of why? . She knew regret would fill her as soon as she betrayed the man s trust, however, she thrived off of impulsive choices. With one last look at Mr. Linden, giving him a note of a silent apology, she flung back the cover letting the pages tumble open. The book flew apart as if it had sprung to life and she dropped the object onto the table with a scream, continuing to watch it closely as the parchment kept turning. Leigh looked wildly at Mr. Linden who was frozen in place, staring slack jawed at the table, eyes glossed over as if he was not looking at all. Within the seconds of their exchange, it seemed as if the pages had begun to grow greener; their pictures looked so realistic she could mistake them for something real. • 9. Oxalate Lab Essay Dr. Hjorth Gustin Chemistry 201 Lab November 8th, 2010 Synthesis and Analysis of Iron(III) Oxalate Complex Discussion This experiment initially involved the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate complex with the general formula Kw[Fex(C2O4)y] zH2O. The variables x, y, and z were determined through the duration of the entire experiment. Part 1 involves the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate complex. The iron is first presented in its Fe2+ form, so it must first be oxidized to Fe3+ before the oxalate ion will readily bind to it. Hydrogen peroxide is the oxidant of choice: 2Fe2+ (aq) + H2O2 (l) + 2H+ (aq) 2Fe3+ (aq) + 2H2O (l), in acidic solution. The oxalate ion is then free to coordinate to the Fe3+ ion, forming a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Part 2 of this experiment invoked the use of redox titrating to determine the oxalate content (C2O42 ) of the salt. An aqueous solution of the iron oxalate salt is prepared for titration, and the oxalate content is found through analysis by measuring the volume of titrant. Part 3 of the experiment utilized Spectrophotometry to determine the iron content in the iron (III) oxalate complex. The results were combined with findings from Part 1 and Part 2 to determine the empirical formula and percentage yield of the compound synthesized in Part 1. Spectrophotometry is a routine laboratory test that has the added advantage of being able to analyze multiple samples in a short amount of time. The most efficient way of determining concentration is to prepare a set of standard solutions of known concentration, record the absorbance readings at a fixed wavelength, and plot the absorbance vs. concentration data. The wavelength of 520 nm was selected for experiment Part 3 because this is the maximum absorbance for the iron (III) ion. The Beer s Law Plot that was graphed

  • 11. Borge s Use of Berkeley s Idealism Essay Borge s Use of Berkeley s Idealism Jorge Luis Borges drew upon a number of philosophical and intellectual models in his writing, one of which is George Berkeley s subjective idealism. In Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius, Borges paints a picture of a perfect reality governed by Berkeley s idea that matter only exists in perception, and in The Circular Ruins, he presents a man who creates a boy who cannot exist independent of his perception. However, by employing Berkeley s logic in these stories, Borges is in fact denying Berkeley s ultimate purpose: the justification of the existence of God. In almost all of his work, Berkeley s fundamental goal is to logically disprove any thinking that presumes the non existence of God (Muehlmann ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We may even assert that the existence of God is far more evidently perceived than the existence of men; because the effects of Nature are infinitely more numerous and considerable, than those ascribed to human agents. (Principles 109) Borges uses the same theory and logic in his writing, but he aims instead to pick apart this assumption of God. The philosophy of Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius is described by one critic as a kind of ultra Berkeleyan idealism according to which the only realities are mental perceptions (Dunham 36). On Tlön, there is no concept of space or matter and, there are no nouns in their languages, only verbs and adjectives. In effect, Borges uses subjective idealism to break down reality. Borges writes: The nations of that planet are congenitally idealist. Their language, with its derivatives religion, literature, and metaphysics presupposes idealism (Borges 23). A system of geometry on Tlön rejects the principle of parallelism, and states that, as man moves about, he alters the forms which surround him (Borges 28). This is perhaps an answer to a question Philonous poses to Hylas: Since all sensible qualities, as size, figure, colour, etc. that is, our ideas are continually changing upon every alteration in the distance, medium, or instruments of sensation; how can any determinate ... They were originally given 14, and then 21 days, to agree to it. The treaty, which included some 440 Articles, was not as vindictive as Clemenceau had wanted nor as moderate as Lloyd George would have wished. It certainly fell far short of the conciliatory features of Wilson s fourteen point proposals. These measures should be carried out for those who may handle objects contaminated by an infected person s body fluids. In 2014, the CDC began recommending that medical personnel receive training on the proper suit up and removal of personal protective equipment (PPE); in addition, a designated person, appropriately trained in biosafety, should be watching each step of these procedures to ensure they are done correctly. The typical training period for the use of such safety equipment lasted approximately 12 days in Sierra Leone. The infected person should be in separated from other people. What advertising strategy for the promotion of this new product would you use and why? The new product being produced is a state of the art tablet PC that has EV DO technology embedded within it. EV DO is the technology that allows cell phones to stay connected to the Internet via 3G and 4G signals at all times; it has never been implemented in a tablet PC yet. The advertising strategy for this product will concentrate on freedom and agility of those having the tablet PC, showing how they can leave their laptop and desktop computers at home while traveling, going to school or going on vacation. With freedom from clunky PCs being the unique value proposition of this product, the advertising will be heavily slanted to digital media, specifically those channels that best connect with mobile devices. The target market for this tablet PC will be smartphone users who want to do more while away from their traditional PCs. Social media including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn will be used, in conjunction with opt in landing pages on the company s website and blog. There will also be contests for tablet PC users to generate their own videos showing how they use the device. I will include a short background and a quick summary of history and then describe a few aspects of their culture including: language, subsistence practices, kinship and descent, marriage and household, beliefs and worship, and a unique cultural practice. The Maori, culturally Polynesians, are the indigenous inhabitants of New Zealand. The people who call themselves the Maori are originally from the Polynesian islands and settled in New Zealand around the 13th century. The tribes of the Maori did not identify themselves by a collective name until European settlers arrived and then the use of the name Maori, which means ordinary came into use. The Maori today make up about 15% (565,329 people) of New Zealand s population with the majority living in urban area, while there are still few who live in the ancestral tribal areas. Many also live overseas with 70,000 in Australia and 10,000 in England. Around 1300 AD, a great migration of people set sail for what is now New Zealand. These people came in seven very large canoes called Waka which were built to withstand rough seas and carry many people including all of their possessions over long journeys. The present day Maori people can trace their origins to the various Waka. The settlers from each Waka separated into tribes called iwi . As time went on and population grew, the people spread out through the land and created a social structure with iwi (tribes), hapu ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This serious, sometimes fatal disease is caused by a parasite that is carried by a certain species of mosquito called the Anopheles. It claims more lives every year than any other transmissible disease except tuberculosis. To contract malaria, a mosquito, but not just any mosquito must bite a human. The only type of mosquito that can infect humans with the malaria virus is the Anopheles mosquito. While there are around three hundred eighty species of the Anopheline mosquito, only about sixty are actually able to spread the disease to humans. Also, only female mosquitoes can distribute the disease, as male mosquitoes do not feed on humans. Mosquitoes pass malaria to humans through their salivary glands. Once the parasites have entered the blood stream, they go to the liver. In the liver they mature and undergo reproduction, forming merozoites. These merozoites enter the blood stream and inject themselves into red blood cells. Once inside the blood cells, they reproduce rapidly and within forty eight to seventy two hours, the blood cell bursts, releasing hemoglobin into the blood stream. It is the destruction of these blood cells and the hemoglobin released into the blood stream that actually causes most of the symptoms. While the most common way malaria is transmitted is from mosquitoes to humans, there are other ways of catching the disease. One way is from mother to her unborn child. When a disease is contracted this way it is said to have been transmitted congenitally. Another way is during blood transfusions. This is why it is important to be tested for ... The mismatch in PMU measurements and dynamic simulators lead to anomalous result for application such as event location, oscillation detection, islanding detection, and dynamic line rating as indicated in (Zhao et al. 2015). While PMUs can measure and time synchronize the output phasor with great accuracy, the internal signal processing may utilize several cycles of the input signal measurements to calculate each phasor values. Thus, even if the PMU report phasor each cycle, the measurements is not representative of the current cycle but of a number of the preceding and following cycles depending on the sliding window of data used for the phasor estimation. This typically smooths out/filters faster changes that may be present in the simulation output, rendering PMU output not comparable to simulated response for the same disturbance when fast changing responses are present (applicable for a very small time constant parameters in the model of the physical system). Phasor estimation can be performed in electromagnetic simulators in which point of wave signal is available. Phasor estimation of a point of wave signal is applied in electromagnetic simulator using enhanced DFT based algorithm in (Romano, Pignati, and Paolone 2015). Some other matters will be explained in the following games that I have played in my personal game order. In Game 2, what I need to do is try to avoid trade losses and achieve net profits at the end of the game. At the beginning, the spot price and future price were a bit sticky to each other, the future price fluctuated within 10 cents for quite a long time, so I chose to sell(buy) it at the higher(lower) price and then to buy(sell) it at the relative lower (higher)price to make a small profit. In this document, Marx introduced his idea to incorporate socialism into the government before communism. This is mainly because socialism would prepare the way by nationalizing the means of production and putting them under the control of those he viewed as the sole producers of wealth: the workers. 4 This would take the control out of the hands of the wealthy and it would be given to those people that had been the poorest in the previous years. His goal was to get the common people to have a changed view of work once they started to be in charge of the producing of goods. This way, there would be no rich and no poor, only economic equality would result. Marx was intent on the subject of human change. Marx was often confronted with the charge that he was trying to change human nature. However, his rebuttal was that human nature [had] changed many times in the past, 5 and that it was possible to change it again. • 30. Big Impacts On My Childhood When I think of big impacts on my childhood, heroes are definitely near the top. Whether it was Legolas from Lord of the Rings or Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, I wanted to save the world. Maybe that s why I fell in love with comics early on. I wanted the admiration from my peers that these heroes got from me, and yet, the world doesn t work that way. I realized pretty quickly that it wasn t like in the movies and comics. The world didn t exist to give you a pat on the back whenever you did a good deed. Maybe that s why from the moment I picked up my first XMEN comic, I fell in love. FINALLY there were heroes who lived in a more realistic society. The world they protected, shunned them. They were spat on by those they saved. Here I was, a geeky, straight A, small, spindly little fourth grader with glasses and flood pants who had always tried to be the hero. Finally I had found a group of people who were as unappreciated as I felt. It seems as though many others felt that way too, and quickly Xmen became Marvels crowning glory, yet as the newest generation rolls in, Marvel has had a stroke of luck with a film deal of the Avengers series, and of course the population eats it up. It seems as though Marvel has been putting a lot of effort into anything Avengers since Fox owns the rights to Xmen. This unfortunate fact makes me bitter because Xmen contains much more positive messaging for audiences than the currently more successful Avengers. Xmen hasn t been getting much love ... • 32. Constantine Stanislavsky is the Father of Today s Style... Stanislavsky is the father of today s style of acting. Constantine Stanislavsky (1863 1938) was the innovator for method acting. He changed the process of acting in which actors immerse themselves into their characters as much as possible. He wanted acting to change to a realistic art. Stanislavsky wanted his actors to avoid habitual mannerisms on stage (Worthen, 33). He used a method that includes five techniques to help an actor submerge into their characters. The magic if, re education, observation, motivation and emotional memory are all techniques Stanislavsky used to help mold his actors (Bradford). The first technique requires the actor to use their imagination. The magic if requires the actor to ask themselves what my character would do in this situation. The next technique used is reeducation. Whether it s being onstage to a live audience or on film, actors need to find a way to display true human life movement. When figuring out body movement or body language actors must think of every action as part of their character. Stanislavsky encouraged his students to observe people whenever possible. He encouraged them to study their physical traits as well as their personality. Stanislavsky reminded his students that every person is unique and therefore each unique trait should be exhibited. The technique is a very valuable tool because actors often find inspiration by observing others. Actors often ask themselves what is my motivation? This process entails a lot of why ... • 34. A Kid s Guide To Divorce By Lorrie Moore Analysis Sommer Abdelrahim EN 106 Professor Csedrik 27 February 2015 Should We Just Ignore It? The divorce rate in the United States is higher than fifty percent today. The divorce rate continues to increase in America due to many reasons, one of them being that society today is a disposable society. Back in the day, when someone had a broken shoe he or she would fix it, and if there was a problem with a couple s marriage, the two would work through it. But today, it is easier to ignore the problem, throw away what we do not like anymore and move on to the next, which is not the right way to live. In Lorrie Moore s A Kid s Guide to Divorce , Moore writes about a child and his or her mother. The two are sitting in their living room watching TV as they ... • 35. Sister Carrie Essay Theodore Dreiser s Sister Carrie is a simple tale of a young, pretty eighteen year old girl Caroline Meeber also know as Carrie. When Carrie got on the train from Columbia City to Chicago she had only few cheap items in her trunk and her sister s address on a piece of paper. Being only eighteen she was still quot;full of the illusions of ignorance and youth quot;(Dreiser, 7). She was both afraid of the things to come and exited by the countless possibilities offered by one of the largest cities of the late 19th century Chicago. As soon as Carrie arrives in Chicago various obstacles face her. She has no experience at working outside home, which makes finding any work very difficult. As soon as an opportunity to leave her boring life arrived Carrie took it and never looked back. All she cared about was the fact that now she no longer needed to work long hours for little pay. By becoming Drouet s kept woman she no longer had to worry about getting comfortable clothing, good meal and money. People knew her as Mrs. Drouet and she liked it. Through Drouet Carrie met her next man Hurstwood, a manager at Fitzgerald and Moy . Carrie flirted and spend time with him without giving it a second thought. It did not bother her that Hurstwood was twice her age in fact he was old enough to be her father. She never stopped to think that someone of his position, and in her eyes he was definitely much higher on a social scale than Drouet, might be married, have a family, responsibilities and obligations to them as well as to others. To Carrie quot;Hurstwood seemed drag in the direction of honor quot;(Dreiser, 128), but how would she know what honor was and what it meant? She had none otherwise she would never leave her family to become a kept woman and soon after that a home wrecker. Hurstwood left his wife, children and respectable job to carry on his affair with Carrie. He even stole from his longtime employers to be with Carrie. • 36. A Documentary On Food, Inc. Agricultural Misconceptions Body mass index, or BMI, is used by doctors and health physicians to measure excessively high levels of body fat in relation to lean body mass in an individual. Having a BMI ratio that is considered above average or too high normally denotes persons at risk to several health adversities such as heart attacks, liver damage, diabetes, and even more widespread, obesity. In 2005, the United States Department of Health and Human Services estimated that over half of the adult American population was either overweight or obese, and many of these health concerns were correlated with a person s diet and type of food consumption. In an attempt to assign blame for the cause, political and social commentators claim that long standing farm subsidies on particular food commodities correlate with rising obesity trends in America. In a documentary titled Food, Inc., opened to audience in 2008, award winning filmmaker Robert Kenner argues that current agricultural policies on these subsidized food commodities are allowing major food corporations to mass produce products that negatively affect the health of consumers nationwide. He contends that commodity crops such as corn, wheat, and soybeans are heavily subsidized by the government to produce snack foods that are high in calorie content but low in cost, becoming the prime choice for Americans looking for cheap and readily available foods to eat. Kenner believes that government subsidies need to either be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Research Paper On Never Let Me Go Never Let Me Go, starring Carrie Mulligan, Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield was previewed in Chicago at the AMC 21 Theater on Thursday, September 16th, 2010. It was, as the website AV Club put it, a film steeped in misery and despair. If you can handle that warning that this film is definitely a downer and you re not likely to leave the theater humming a happy tune, there is much to recommend in this effort from the director of Robin Williams One Hour Photo, Mark Rumanek. Rumanek is known mainly for his direction of music videos, but, ironically, he and Ben Affleck are talking about collaborating on a black comedy and it is Affleck s new film The Town that promises to give this Kubrick inspired director some competition at the Cineplex ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to some reports, nearly 11% of women and 5% of men in the United States are currently taking one or more anti depressant medications. These medications can truly be life savers, helping people get through some of the most difficult times in their lives, and there is certainly no shame in seeking a little help to get through a challenging period. However, most people are uncomfortable with the idea of taking a mood altering, prescription medication for their entire lives. Some people are concerned about the potentially unknown, long term side effects of anti depressants. Others just want to experience life naturally, without any drugs. There are several factors you need to consider before you make the decision to discontinue anti depressant therapy. First off, ask yourself if your depression really has gotten better. How has your mood been, generally speaking? Has your appetite returned to normal, or are you eating considerably more or less than you normally would? Are you sleeping better? How is your social life? Make sure that your depression really has lifted and that you haven t just learned to live with the symptoms of depression. If you ve been stable for at least six months, are feeling confident, have a good support system in place, and have the desire to stop treatment, it may be time to ask your doctor about stopping your anti depressant therapy. It is very important that you do not just stop taking your medicine. Your body has gotten used to your medication and abruptly stopping it could cause serious withdrawal symptoms, including dizziness, nausea, fainting, and even a return of your depression. Your doctor will likely wean you off of your medicine by gradually lowering your dose over a period of time, usually a few weeks to a few months. This can be frustrating for some people who see depression as a chapter in their life that they are eager to close. However, by following your dose ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This war started due to free and slave states holding different opinions on whether the government had the power to prohibit slavery in territories that were not yet states. Abraham Lincoln was elected to office in 1860, pledging to keep slavery out of new territories. After hearing about this seven southern slave states decided to secede and form a new nation, the Confederate States of America. The Northern states did not acknowledge the secession fearing the final outcome would be a division of all the states, this is where the Civil War began. On May 12 Johnston led his soldiers to meet the Union army at Resaca where his army would battle Union soldiers from May 13 to May 15. Although Confederates had driven Union soldiers back on the second day of battle, after Johnston received reports telling him of the Unions success in gaining position he decided not to attack on the following morning and instead retreated his soldiers to Calhoun and Adairsville. Following this evacuation, Confederates were supposed to ambush Union soldiers on Cassville road, they were all positioned by May 19 in the morning, but the army retreated and waited for Union soldiers to attack ...
