In this situation I do not believe that there is a hero. As the first article states, there are two sides to
every story, and as it also states there are few saints in this tale. Despite Andrew Jackson s positive
contributions, such as insuring that Cherokees were given equal pay, he still massacred thousands of
Native Americans. He signed the Indian Removal Act, which prompted the Trail of Tears, one of the
darkest events in American History in which 13,000 Cherokees were forced to walk miles from their
homeland. It also resulted in the Florida Seminoles, a war lasting nearly as long as the Iraq war. John
Ross was not perfect as well. Though he actively fought for the right of his people, he was a slave
