What Is Literary Devices Used In Patrick Henry s Speech To...
On March 23rd, 1775, Patrick Henry delivered his Speech to the Virginia Convention. This speech
becomes one of the most famous speeches in American Oratory. His audience were white men, that
owned slaves and land, were wealthy, and men that received advanced education, compared to most
men at that time. Considering all of these factors, Henry uses kinds of logic and emotion that appealed
to them. In the Convention, Following a discussion about negotiating with the British, Henry presents
a counter argument, saying that the colonists should fight against the British. Patrick Henry uses a
variety of literary devices in his speech to defend his point, and convince the audience about his
argument. The most significant literary device used by Henry ... Show more content on

Henry knew his audience inside and out, which helped him persuade them effectively. In his logical
appeals, Henry uses facts, statistics, examples, past history and incidents to persuade the audience. On
the other hand, in Henry s emotional appeals, he uses diction, imagery, figurative language, allusions
to literature, use of religion and stories that arouse emotions to persuade the audience. These appeals
are meant to stir the audience s emotions. All of these factors played a big role in persuading the
audience at the Virginia Convention. As a young man, Patrick Henry failed at attempts at storekeeping
and farming before discovering before discovering his true calling: the law. Starting as a 29 year old
lawyer, Henry gradually developed as a politician and as a result, Patrick Henry is now recognized as

Wes Anderson Influence
Lukas Hamlescher Dr. Neuendorf COM 320 Preliminary Draft Wes Anderson is a staple in the
independent film community. He writes, directs, and produces most of his films. He takes time to
develop stories unique to him and from each other. Nonetheless, all of Anderson?s films have an
undeniable familiarity between them as he imprints his style on everything he creates. However, if he
did not have inspiration or influences for his films, his creativity and artistic flair may not have a
proper way to be displayed. His films could lack an essential essence whether in diversity of plot or
themes, etc. Perhaps without influences, Anderson would not be a filmmaker at all. Fortunate for all
fans of Anderson, he is inspired and does make films for many all over the world to enjoy. Therefore,
it is not only Anderson or any of his co workers we have to thank for his films but his inspirations as

It can also be said then that Anderson finds himself influenced by Ray not only thematically in in
terms of settings but in more in depth filmmaking tactics. For example, part of Anderson?s style is
centralized around precision of shot composition, mise en scene, and choreography of characters. This
takes focused pre planning and a dedicated thought process. Ray admits to similar pre planning and
precision in his production phase of filming. In an interview from a book entitled Satyajit Ray:
Interviews, Ray is asked about the procedures of rehearsing and setting up each shot. Ray responds, ?

Abstract: the open nature of the wireless medium leaves it vulnerable to drive or wedge packets
forcibly into a tight position referred as squeeze. This intentional interference with wireless
transmissions can be used as a launch pad for mounting Denial of Service attacks on wireless
networks typically; squeeze has been addressed under an external threat model. However, person with
depth knowledge of internet protocol specifications and network secrets can launch low effort squeeze
attacks that are difficult to detect and counter. In these attacks, the adversary is active only for a short
period of time, selectively targeting messages of high importance. We illustrate the advantages of
selective squeeze in terms of network performance degradation and adversary effort by presenting two
case studies; a selective attack on TCP and one on routing. In this work, we address the problem of
selective squeeze attacks in wireless networks. We show that selective squeeze attacks can be
launched by performing real time packet classification at the physical layer. To reduce these attacks,
we develop three schemes that prevent real time packet classification by combining cryptographic
primitives with physical layer attributes. We

Alexander II And The Russian Revolution
In the 1800 s Russia was facing a very difficult time. Russia s recent defeat in the Crimean war was a
wake up call to the autocracy. This defeat proved to the autocracy that Russia had fallen dangerously
behind their western neighbors, ultimately making it easy for other countries to attach and invade. At
that point, Russia knew it was time for a change and it started with Tsar Alexander II. Alexander II
took over as emperor due to his fathers (Nicholas I) death in St. Petersburg. Some say the reason for
Russia s backward spiral was because of him. However, in 1855 the reign of Alexander II in Russia
began and during his time he directed a period of political and social reforms. Some of the reforms
Alexander II thought had to be changed included: education, military, government, and judicial. Even
after trying to make multiple changes and reforms to better the government, someone was still not
clicking in the Russian government. The main reason the society had so many problems dealt with the
peasants. As many soviet historians have claimed, these reforms were put in place to pacify the
peasantry in order to ward off revolution. During this time the peasants had to work on their lord
owners land and didn t have many other options. While under the new Tsar Alexander II the
government ran into a dry wall and needed a way out. Alexander II did something that to this day goes
down as two perspectives. The first one can be seen as a charter of freedom

Safe Sex On College Campuses
Trying to choose a theory is never an easy task. In my opinion, there can be a group of six individuals,
each given the task of picking a theory to utilize, and every one of them could potentially pick a
different theory. The reason being, everyone has their own personal experiences and understanding of
what works best, or feels more comfortable executing. With health education, there are many theories
available to choose from, because of that, guidelines were developed. According to Hayden, there are
a total of five theories and they are as followed: 1. Identify the health issue or problem and the
population affected 2. Gather information about the issues or population or both 3. Identify possibly
reasons or causes for the problem 4. Identify ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my opinion, safe sex on college campuses would not be as much of an issue if practicing safe sex
were promoted more. According to Dr. Berman, only 22 schools in the nation currently require sex
education in schools. It can be understood that this subject is something people believe parents should
cover. However, let s be honest, not all teenagers want to talk about sex in general with their parents.
When the matter is not taken more serious at earlier ages, the behavior and acceptance of having
unsafe sex possibly continues on into adulthood. According to O Sullivan, the practice of unsafe sex is
most commonly due to an individual s lack of knowledge of what safe sex actually mean and what all
is included. They believe that safe sex is just another form of birth control. However, safe sex is not
just a method of birth control, it includes other components, but most importantly, a means of
preventing one from receiving or passing along

Employee Relations And High Turnover Environment
Employee Relations In High Turnover Environment Retail employment makes up a great deal of the
younger peoples jobs. The jobs require a low amount of skill, but also only give a lower amount of
pay. They are usually used as a building point for many as they begin their lives as working
professionals. Most often these positions are temporary and the turnover rate is exceptionally high.
According to Career Builder, an analysis of [Bureau Of Labor Statistics] by the National Retail
Federation, nearly a quarter of retail workers voluntarily left a job in 2010 (Career Builder, 2011).

I had never had a run in with any of my managers previously, but did not feel particular close to one
manager. His style was cold and to flat out tell you what to do while picking favorites with some of
the employees who had been at the location for a while. One particular day, the store was mobbed and
I was trying to keep up with folding clothes and telling customers about the deals available at the
moment. One of my co workers came over to me and said that my manager said he was going to run
me over and that I needed to hurry up in what I was doing. He felt that I was moving slow and not
getting enough of my tasks done according to his standards. The manager never said anything directly
to me and I never approached him or my co worker about it after the incident. After it happened, I
became very uncomfortable and insecure in my quality of work. I felt that when I came into work, I
was more of a hindrance than any actual help. About a week or two after the incident happened I put
in my 2 week notice and left. Since then, I still avoid the store because I see the manager working,
which is sad because I enjoyed working there and loved the clothing.

What Is The Success Of The Third Crusade
The Third Crusade is one of the most famous Crusades in history. This essay will examine the success
of this crusade through the perspective of the European force. The Third Crusade was aptly named
because it was the third wave of religious soldiers to travel to the modern day Middle East and wage a
war for the holy city of Jerusalem. There is a certain level of multiple causation that can be gleaned
from the beginnings of this Crusade. First, Richard I had recently become king after his father Henry
of England died in 1188 which may have pushed Richard to do something to prove himself to the
English people. There was also the ceaseless pressure of to reclaim Jerusalem for the Christians,
especially after their recent loss of the city and terrible loss at Hattin. ... Show more content on

The new pope, did not, unlike his predecessors, attempt to have the Church lead this latest Crusade
and instead turned to the three greatest rulers of Europe in 1190, Richard the Lion Hearted of England,
Philip Augustus of France, and Frederick Barbarossa of Germany. Frederick was the first to actually
depart from England for the Holy Land and with him he brought the single largest army to ever march
in the Crusades, a force of tens of thousands. Although this Crusade succeeded in capturing Acre,
Cyprus, and other outer territories, it failed in their main goal which was to capture Jerusalem for the
Christians. Therefore, when considering their primary objective, the Third Crusade was a

Essay on Gender and Power in The Arabian Nights
Gender and Power in The Arabian Nights
Works Cited Not Included
Contemplating the relationship between gender and power, one undoubtedly notices that tradition
regards men as the holders of official office and power. Historically, men have also always been the
leaders of their families, and turned to in times of trouble or need. Making generalizations is normally
a weak approach to any task; in this case however, it is necessary to do so in order to illustrate how
drastically opposite the situations prove in various selections from 1001 Arabian Nights. Rather than
men taking critical roles of power, the women characters, especially at crucial moments in the plot,
empower themselves far beyond the male figures, and, consequently, ... Show more content on

Even Aladdin s mother criticizes him for his ridiculous desire, My child, may Allah protect you! It
seems you ve lost your head! However, as a loving mother she tells him, my greatest desire is for you
to marry , and with that makes the boldest decision of the story: to approach the Sultan to request his
daughter s hand in marriage for Aladdin. The move, an unprecedented one, highlights beautifully the
incredible composure and boldness of Aladdin s mother. Even she questions, . ..how can I be so bold
as to ask for the daughter of the Sultan of China...? (164) In an ironic role reversal, Aladdin s mother
suddenly becomes empowered enough to carry out such a bold action. Through her ability to approach
the sultan to ask the most audacious of questions, Aladdin s mother refutes classic notions of the
power gender relationship. The decision to approach the sultan would have been valiant in itself for
even the most courageous man; the fact that a woman did this exemplifies the empowerment of
women in 1001 Arabian Nights and spurs doubt surrounding the classic idea that men are more
powerful than women.
Similarly, the gender power relationship is once again raised in Ali Babba and the Forty Thieves , and,
like Aladdin, the empowerment of the strong female characters leads to meaningful impact on the
story. Ironically, before this magical transition of power takes place, women are viewed are powerless
victims. For example, when

Analyzing The Proposed Calculations On The System Of Wifi...
MEASUREMENT SCENARIO We set up a testbed to assess the proposed calculations. Two entrance
systems, WiFi and Ethernet are joined with the VAN server, and the VAN server additionally functions
as the door to people in general Internet. The WiFi connection is constrained to 2 Mbps, the Ethernet
join for imitating the Cellular connection is restricted to 4 Mbps to consider asset limits, for example,
foundation traffic, for instance. The high edge β is situated to 50 s and the discriminating limit off is
situated to 20 s. We arbitrarily select 10 distinctive YouTube features with differing bit rates, each with
a greatest determination of 1080p and least length of 20 minutes. A complete assessment run
comprises of 10 runs every feature and determination, each with a length of time of 1000 s. Amid the
runs, the accompanying parameters are measured: the cradled recess in seconds, the player state,
which is either slowing down or playing, the current throughput, and the utilization proportion of WiFi
and cell correspondences in connection to the current throughput. The application particular
parameters, including supported recess and player state, are measured at the customer, while the
system parameters, for example, throughput and utilization proportion, are measured at the VAN
server. To measure the advantage of the calculations, we consider the accompanying execution
measurements: Nature of Experience (QoE): QoE shows how fulfilled a client is with YouTube feature

The Human Body Analysis
The human body components work in such a complex manner in order to keep the body functioning
properly. It always works to keep itself at equilibrium, maintaining all levels of its constituents. The
body controls what is ingested by analyzing it, then separating and taking whatever is needed by the
cells of the body. For example; to control excess glucose within the body, several mechanisms need to
take place in order to decrease the excess glucose to its appropriate level in the body. This is achieved
by the help of two important glucoregulatory hormones; insulin and glucagon, which are designed to
maintain flowing glucose concentrations at quite narrow ranges (Aronoff, Berkowitz, Shreiner Want,
2004). This essay will examine the events ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is where the hormones; insulin and glucagon interfere. Insulin is a regulatory hormone of glucose
which is produced and released by beta cells in the pancreas; an organ located behind the stomach
(Niddk.nih.gov, 2015). Insulin secretion is triggered by the presence of great amounts of glucose and it
helps cells utilize glucose as a form of energy (Niddk.nih.gov, 2015). It plays a major role in how the
body uses digested food for energy. It allows the body to use the immense glucose in a safe and
efficient manner, as excess glucose in the blood poses illnesses upon the body. First, insulin signals the
cells that there is glucose present for usage. The cells may need and take that glucose if they are in
need of energy or may reject that available glucose if they have sufficient amounts of it to carry out
their tasks (Anon, 2015). In the case where cells may reject the glucose, it will have to be used up
differently or stored. Insulin then carries glucose to other parts of the body like the muscle and liver
cells (Anon, 2015). Insulin triggers the liver and muscle cells to store excessive glucose in the form of
glycogen (Bano, 2013). When the muscle and liver cells use up or store the given glucose in the form
of glycogen, blood glucose levels decrease and insulin reduces the production of glucose in the liver
(Bano, 2013). The stored glycogen can later be reconverted back to glucose when sugar levels fall.
After providing glucose to the muscle and liver cells, the insulin will carry glucose to the adipose
tissue where fat cells are present (Bano, 2013). The fat cells will also accept the extra glucose and
store it for later

was the truth that must be followed? He thought his only choices were to choose the old Block way or
the young Unger way (279). The Christmas play about the Wisemen following the star to the savior in
Bethlehem, leads Thom to find his way. He realized that two wars did not confront him, only one s
two faces (287.) Thom understands that the war in Wapiti is to secure a right relationship with the

peace is not necessarily good. The peace based on neglect and evasion will destroy (xix). Pete also

belief (6,7). He followed exactly in his father s footsteps and he never thought for himself (165).
However, Pete comes to Thom s Sunday school class with the Métis to see for himself what his Papa

Robert Walton And Robert Walton In Frankenstein By Mary...
In Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, Robert Walton is comparable to Frankenstein s monster. Neither are
able to find any sense of belonging, and have a craving for the companionship of someone similar to
themselves.
Robert Walton plays an often overlooked role in this story, although he can be considered the primary
narrator. Walton is the captain of a failing expedition to the North Pole who discovers a freezing and
lost Victor Frankenstein. Walton nurses Frankenstein back to health, and Frankenstein tells Walton of
his misfortune of a life story. The similarities between Frankenstein and Walton are made fairly
obvious, as Frankenstein himself points out their somewhat similar pursuits of knowledge and failure
to realize their own limits, as well as warns Walton about the consequences of taking an obsession too
far, implying that Frankenstein sees a little of himself in the captain.
However, I think that there is an even more interesting observation to be made of Walton, by
comparing him to the monster. Both Walter and the monster experience a considerable amount of
loneliness, with a contrasting cause and a comparable effect. Both of them are also fairly intelligent,
with little education, creating another parallel between the two.
Walton s search for a like minded individual is seemingly endless. Walton is unable to find people
with thoughts and tastes similar to his own. This is made clear in Walton s letters to his sister. The
source of the monster s loneliness is a

economy. Economist Allen Sinai said, The Greenspan Fed is the all time champion in American
history (Church par. 1). In 1996 and 1997 he didn t do much of anything to the interest rates. From
February 1996 to December 1997, the Fed made only one change in interest rates: a quarter point
increase in March of 1997. He resisted pressure from inside and outside the Fed to slow down the
economy. Instead of being overly concerned about inflation, he seemed to have accepted the idea that
deep changes in the economy have made sustained growth possible without pushing prices up.
(Church par. 2) Because of Alan Greenspan, the Fed has learned to be more patient. It allows the
economy to grow faster than expected without putting on the brakes by raising interest rates.
However, Greenspan always stays on guard. He is a renowned numbers cruncher who keeps tabs on
the most obscure corners of the economy. Robin Leight Pemberton said that he was likely to back up
his predictions by citing such obscure data as vacuum cleaner sales in Iowa (Church Par 3). Greenspan
is reaping the praise of the financial community. There is a widely held sense that he has

John Froelich built the first gasoline powered tractor in Clayton County, Iowa, USA. John Froelich
was a grain elevator operator, and every harvesting season he would go a thresh farmer s fields, and
after years of using his bulky, heavy steam powered threshing machine he decided in 1890 to try and
mount a gasoline engine on his threshing machine. The steam powered threshing machine was bulky,
hard to transport, and dangerous to use in the fields. Since the thresher was steam powered it was hot,
and created sparks that sometime light the fields on fire. John Froelich was sick of dealing with this
dangerous machine and decided to mount a gasoline powered engine on it. His idea worked and he
harvested 72,000 bushels of grain in all. ( John Froelich, inventor of the gas powered tractor, is

Health Savings Account Essay
Are Health Savings Accounts Working Effectively?
Increasing health care costs has been a rampant issue in the US healthcare sector. In attempt to address
the issue, the government has enforced different measures. One of these measures includes health
savings accounts (HSAs), which were introduced on December 8, 2003 under the Bush
administration. HSAs were created under the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and
Modernization Act (Bonello Lobo, 2012). HSAs work by allowing consumers to purchase a costly
health insurance with high deductable, before opening HSA account in financial institution, whereby
certain amount of contributions are made to the account. Tax preferred basis is the main approach of
making the contributions. In other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most beneficiaries of HSAs do not required deductions offered under this accounts. This
apparently implies that the tax incentives offered under the HSAs undermine equality in the society.
Higher earning individuals are in a better position to cater for their medical bills in spite of cost.
According to report by NCPA, (2013), HSAs which have been evolving under Obama administration,
are the courses of the problem in the US health Care sector. The report informs that the accounts
established the 3rd party problem issue. Both the consumer and health care providers (doctor or
physician, or any other), lack the incentive to manage health care expenditures. In economics, price is
among the determinants that determine consumption of consumer.
NCPA, (2013) reported that consumers are more likely to consume more if prices decrease.
Economists also argue that demand is negatively correlated to price. That is, whenever price increases,
demand declines. This is very true according to law of demand and supply. The law argues that
quantity of product/service demanded in market declines/increases when price increases/declines. As
explained earlier, HSAs involve sharing of medical costs, and more specifically, consumers are able to
access costly medical care. Yet, neither consumers nor offers of medical care are involved in
evaluation of cost benefit analysis in the entire

Why Was Alexander Hamilton Was A Clever
Alexander Hamilton was a very clever man. Many believe that he was clever for the right reasons and
many also believe that he was clever for the wrong reasons. On the website www.theatlantic.com ,
Alexander Hamilton was placed 5th on the top 100 most influential Americans. I think that Hamilton
did amazing things such as being a founding father for our country but some people think that those
things just ruined our country from the very beginning. Born in the British West Indies, he arrived in
the colonies as a teenager, and quickly embarked on a remarkable career (History.com Staff). When
Alex was ten his father, James A. Hamilton, abandoned him, his brother, and his mother. Two years
later his mother, Rachel Faucette died of a fever. Alex received that fever at the same time as his
mother and his health inclined while his mother s declined. After both parents vanished, an older
cousin took Alex and his brother in to be a guardian. The cousin of the Hamilton s committed suicide.
The brother and Alex were both were left to be orphans. Alex traveled to America hoping for a better
life and I believe he created a good one. To have a better life, Alex decided to go to college even
though he was broke. Enrolled at King s College (now Columbia University) in 1774 (American

Description Of A Person s Personality

ESTJ vs. INFJ What is the Difference? A person s personality is his or her essence. It is what guides
decisions, emotions, and even thoughts. Some may wonder if it is possible to explore every nuance of
such a complex part of a being, but there are ways to determine what type of personality a person has,
and then branch off into a more detailed examination of that person specifically. Combined with other
factors, such as personality disorders and the environment that someone has grown up in, the Myers
Briggs Type Indicator, or MBTI, test and analysis can determine an accurate portrayal of a personality.
Created in 1943 by Katherine Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers, it is a system made up of four basic
functions and sub functions that combine to make a personality type. The mother and daughter team
constructed it off of Jung s theories (History 2). Based on this system, one of the most common
personality types in the US population is called an ESTJ, and one of the least common personality
types is called an INFJ. There are many differences and similarities between these two types. An ESTJ
personality, overall, is practical, fact based, and outgoing, whereas an INFJ personality is more private
and makes decisions based on feelings; however, both are organized people who make good leaders
and are capable of great success in roles that involve helping others.

The Shawl, By Cynthia Ozick
Between 1941 and 1945, over six million Jews were victims of the Holocaust, an attempt by the
German Nazis to exterminate the Jewish race. (Holocaust The Basics ). Adolf Hitler, the leader of
Germany, thought the Jews were the reason that Germany lost World War I (Jews in Nazi Germany
History Learning Site). Hitler blamed them for almost all of Germany s problems and he wanted to
exterminate the entire Jewish population. The Shawl , written by Cynthia Ozick, tells one of the many
horrifying stories from the Holocaust. The story has three main characters: the young mother Rosa,
her baby Magda, and her fourteen year old niece Stella. They were victims of the Holocaust who had
an awful experience in the Nazi concentration camps. Whenever the holocaust victims had to march to
different concentration camps, people who could not walk on their own in a line were shot on the spot,
including infants. Rosa protects Magda by hiding her in a magic shawl, but Stella selfishly takes away
the shawl, leading to Magda s death. Through the characters of Stella, Rosa, and Magda, Cynthia
Ozick shows the desperation and inhumanity that resulted when the Holocaust victims were denied of
their basic human rights. The Shawl is set late in World War II when the Allied forces were beginning
to penetrate into Germany itself. During the Holocaust, the Nazis denied the Jews basic human rights,
violating their rights to life, liberty, and property. Hitler said it was not enough for the Jews to

The Gap Between Development And Underdevelopment
In Walter Rodney s book he emphasizes the difference between development and underdevelopment.
According to Rodney, development is defined as a many sided process involving individuals, social
classes, and society as a whole. At the level of the individual it s represented by increased skill, greater
freedom, creativity, self discipline, responsibility and material well being. Rodney paid more attention
to material well being, freedom and skill at this individual representation. For Rodney the individual
development is directly linked to the development of the state. For the second side of development,
social class/group, Rodney states that development implies an increasing capacity to regulate both
internal and external relationships. For the society as a whole, development shows how man has the
ability to overcome downfalls and better their lives through making use of the earth s resources
available to him. In Rodney s book, he points out how Africa fits into these definitions of
development, but more so how they fit into the definition of underdevelopment.
Developed states are characterized by being highly industrialized, they have low unemployment,
improved social services, advanced farming industries with the technology to produce more in less
time and with fewer people. Underdevelopment should not be understood as the opposite or lack of
development but the very low level of development of a particular state when in comparison to other
states (especially wealthier

The Marketing Environment Of Krispy Kreme
Question 1
The marketing environment of any company plays an integral role in determining its capability to
develop long lasting customer relationships. It is important to note that businesses do not function in a
vacuum. Hence, every step that an organization takes is either caused by or has repercussions on
forces in its marketing environment (Tischler, 2013). The business milieu is continually mutating and
every organization, in turn, must be equipped to deal with these changes. The smartphone industry is a
good case in point with regards to constantly changing business environments. The Apple Samsung

Mr. Burns Drama Essay
Mr. Burns tells a story of the collapse of society after many fall ill due to nuclear power plants
destroying the earth. The play challenges common survival adaptations by introducing the desire for
nostalgic art, most specifically an episode from the Simpsons. The production of Mr. Burns includes
several different aspects that establish the play itself. Key components that bring a play to life are
directing, acting, set design, costumes, lighting, and sound. These characteristics and features of play
production are fundamentally the creation of the play.
Directing and acting are essentially what produces a play. There must be characters to tell the story,
and a director to tell the characters how to tell the story. The stage pictures of a production and the

In Act III, it is obvious how drastically different the set design changed because of the marvelous and
exorbitant figures and scenery of the statues, chandeliers, and tapestries. The set design establishes
relationships between the characters and the play by framing the action on stage and assisting the
characters with setting the tone and mood for the play. Without set design, the turmoil expressed in
Act II would not have been expressed to the extent needed. The set reflected a run down version of a
barely re established society. Not only does set design give insight of the setting of the play, but it also
broadcasts the point of view for the production. For example, during each scene of Mr. Burns, the
audience is shown each point of view from the fourth wall aspect. During Act II, when the characters
are creating a commercial, the audience is allowed to watch the silent drama between the characters as
well the as the struggle to recreate television.Set design is an element of a play the is immediately
recognized and established. The audience relates the environment of the set design to the world of the

Effects Of Pollution On Mount Everest
Mount Everest is being effected because of climbers. The people are bringing things up to the
mountain, but they are not bringing them back down. Due to the extreme weather conditions on
Everest, the debris stays frozen in place. Some food cans found on Everest even date as far back as the
early 1960s. The effect of the garbage and waste on Mount Everest is pollution and a mountain of
garbage. This is not healthy. Removing greater amounts of waste isn t the only solution to the
problem, though. Climbers and environmentalists have recommended additional methods to combat

Racial Orthodoxy
In her article Berrey (2011) studied why diversity became the accepted norm. In the study Berrey
examined data from the University of Michigan from 1965 through 2005. The data collected studied
the Opportunity Awards Program that was started by the university. The program was intended to
increase the diversity of the campus because at this time minority students made up less than .1% of
the school s demographic. To measure the success of the program school administrators used the
number of enrolled minority students as the gage of diversity. In the late 1980s the school changed
their approach from emphasizing disadvantage to emphasizing inclusion. Up through the early 2000s
the university continued to make changes to the diversity program. By this point most of the emphasis
was put on the marketable skills that were achieved from being a part of an interracial group, and less

that Berrey makes that some programs in certain contexts are concerned with race, but others seem to
not be concerned with race at all, as with what happened at the Michigan university. The article
discussed what Berrey found to be the three major reasons for why diversity became orthodoxy at
Michigan. The first and most dominant was the legal influence and precedent. The second was for the
economic and demographic context of a higher education institution. The third was of the everyday

How Did The Stock Market Crash That Led Up To The Great...
People began buying things such as cars and appliances on credit. Many people earned less money
than needed to live a comfortable lifestyle. Businesses were letting people with lower incomes buy
things on credit. Unfortunately the stocks rose faster than the value of the companies they represented.
When the stock market collapsed, these people did not have the money to pay back what they owed.
This resulted in financial ruin. Before the stock market crash investors traded about sixteen million
shares on the New York stock exchange each day. After Black Tuesday , billions of dollars were lost
wiping out thousands of investors. Had most of those investors sold their stock the day before the
crash, they would have received a large profit. The 1929 crash uncovered another problem in the
United States. The nations banking system was in trouble. In the 1920 s thousands of new banks were
opened, however, most lacked adequate money in reserves. Between 1923 and 1929, banks across the
country failed daily, but the general rising prosperity hid these failures. The crash made a bad situation
even worse, and banks failed at a more rapid rate.

Do We Have Control Over Own Fate Research Paper
Do we have complete control over own fate? An individual might ask. In my opinion, one has control
over their own fate. A person determines what their fut6ure will be like by making your own
decisions. A person determines whether one was to eat healthy or junk food, to exercise or to be lazy,
to have a positive attitude or a bad attitude. In my opinion, the only thing in life that one truly has full
power over is ourselves. It s the only us who holds that power, no one else. At times it may seem as
though someone or something has taken over and is dictating our actions. One must remember that it
was our choice in the first place to give that power up and it is ours to take back as well. The outcome

Operation Overlord Research Paper
The auditorium was far from full. Several dozen men and women immersed in dozens of
conversations in a hall intended to accommodate hundreds. Some gazed about the cavernous hall,
peered into the empty balcony or glanced at one of the many entrances. Others surveyed the large
stage where with a podium centered in front of plush curtains. For the most part they talked. Their
orders told them to report to the auditorium at 6:45 A.M. They were not to be late.
At 6:45 A.M. the main auditorium lights began to fade engulfing the hall in semi darkness. The stage
curtains parted to reveal a large viewscreen hung from the ceiling. A lone spotlight illuminated the
podium.
When the curtains had opened, an image flashed onto the viewscreen. Against a deep ... Show more

There are times we are called to undertake tasks where the chance of success is low. The task,
however, must still be attempted. We must still strive for success even when it is unlikely or even
impossible. If you do not understand that, you should not be here.
MacGregor paused as more nervous glances were exchanged.
Do not fear failure, but be fearful of hope, he said. Be very fearful of hope. We do not believe in hope.
We believe in planning. We believe in research. We believe in preparation. We plan. We research. We
prepare. We do not hope. We plan for success. We research for success. We prepare for success. We do
not ever hope for success. Ever. I will not tolerate it. If you want hope, go to a church. If you do not
understand that, you should not be here. If you do not understand that, I do not want you here. Good
morning and good hunting.
Robert MacGregor stepped from behind the podium. He walked down the steps at the front of the
stage and onto the main floor. He marched up the center aisle toward the main exit at the rear of the
auditorium. He did so in silence. He did so quickly. Every head turned and followed his withdrawal.
Every head now filled with his words. Every head now filled with his

Power Leads to Corruption
Power makes individuals corrupt
Corruption is when people in positions of entrusted power abuse their power for their own personal
gains [or to fulfill the agendas of the group they represent] (Transparency International). Lord Acton, a
nineteenth century historian, argued that power is the root cause of corruption. The more power one
has, the more corrupt one is likely to become ( Biography of Lord Acton. ). Although some
commentators argue that there is no correlation between power and corruption, however Lord Acton
was right because power makes individuals egocentric, makes the powerful less sympathetic towards
those who are inferior, and makes a person hypocrite.
First of all, power is such a tool that it makes individuals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They instead increased their own budgets as compared to the last budget and all of this was at the cost
of low subsidies on essential food items, electricity and other the necessities of life (Ali, Kalbe. Areas
That Matter Most. ). Hence a logical conclusion that follows is that powerful individuals use their
power for their personal gains and are not concerned about the effect of their doings on the society.
Another major reason because of which power tends to corrupt is that people with absolute power
usually become less sympathetic towards those with no or less power and do not consider the
perspective of other individuals. Adam Galinsky, a psychologist at Northwestern University conducted
a series of experiments to find whether powerful individual give importance to others or not. As part
of the experiment, Galinsky asked the participants to write letter E on their forehead. The results of the
experiment showed that participant who were primed with the feeling of power wrote E backward,
when seen by another person (Lehrer, Jonah. How Power Corrupts. ). This experiment clearly shows
how powerful individuals see the world through their own eyes and do not care for what other view.
Besides this, example from history also proves the point

Identifying and analyzing global integrated marketing campaigns
Abstract
Integrated marketing is a strategy regarding the application of consistent brand messaging across
myriad marketing channels. It came about after businesses realized that they needed to offer their
customers more than the regular method of advertising. Integrated communication is mainly focused
on the consumer rather than the needs of an organization. It has improved the performance of many
businesses in various markets and their brands. This paper seeks to identify the global integrated
marketing campaigns and analyze them with the use of case studies in the television and print media.
Introduction
In order for a business to create awareness of its products and convince people to buy them, it needs to
do a promotion of the product. This involves communication. The goal of promotion is create
awareness to consumers of a certain product in the market. Secondly, to persuade customers to choose
their product compared to rival products. Lastly, promotion aims to remind the customers on the
importance of buying the product. There are five main types of promotions:
Advertising
Personal selling
Sales promotion
Direct marketing
Public relations
The concept of integrated marketing communication (IMC) emerged in the late twentieth century. This
bore out of a realization by marketers that there was a need for businesses to offer more than
advertisements to their

side of the graph. This makes it very hard to see what the data is showing. Discussion Interpretation
(explain your results using science concepts) LiFi is the sending and receiving of information in the
form of light (LiFi, n.d.). This experiment replicated this by making two circuits. The circuit which
sends the information can be as simple as an LED, this can be seen in figure 3. However, to control
the information which the LED is sending, a different circuit needs to be made. This circuit is similar
to figure 3 but with the addition of an audio lead. This circuit can be seen in figure 4. Figure 3.

Can Continental Airlines Continue to Work Hard, Fly Right...
History of Continental Airlines
Continental Airlines began service in 1934 as Varney Speed Lines, named after one of its initial
owners, Walter T. Varney operating out of El Paso, Texas and extending through Las Vegas,
Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico to Pueblo, Colorado. The airline started with Lockheed
Vegas, a single engine plane that carried four passengers. The airline later flew other Lockheed planes,
including the Lodestar. It was renamed Continental on 1 July 1937 after a new owner Robert Six had
taken a forty percent ownership with Varney s co founder Louis Mueller. Six relocated the airline s
headquarters to Stapleton Airport in Denver in October, 1937. Robert F. Six was one of the legendary
patriarchs of U.S. aviation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most agreements permit airlines to fly from their home country to designated airports in the other
country: some also extend the freedom to provide continuing service to a third country, or to another
destination in the other country while carrying passengers from overseas. In the 1990s, open skies
agreements became more common. These agreements take many of these regulatory powers from state
governments and open up international routes to further competition. Open skies agreements have met
some criticism, particularly within the European Union, whose airlines would be at a comparative
disadvantage with the United States because of cabotage restrictions.
Internal Organization
He challenged all stakeholders in the air transport value chain to keep pace with an aggressive agenda
for industry change. After at least two years of lost growth, traffic is back to pre September levels in
most parts of the world. First quarter 2004 passenger traffic was 6.5% above the same period for 2001
while cargo volumes were 15.5% above 2001 levels. Firms in the commercial airline industry were
studied to ascertain their use of strategic market planning. The results indicate strategic market
planning and related techniques (Experience curve/cost analysis, portfolio analysis, investment
opportunity analysis, and PIMS)

The Romantic Works Of John Keats, Percy Shelley, And...
The romantic period, lasting from the late 18th to the early 19th century, followed the Age of Reason.
During this time people had an individualized, free, liberal, and imaginative attitude towards life.
Literature itself was full of introspection, emotion, passion, sublimity, beauty, and spontaneity, with
subjects such as humankind, the soul, flowers, the common people and more. Of all of the Romantic
values and subjects, the beauty, creativity, and morals of nature is what truly inspired human
imagination, and thus literature of the eighteenth and early nineteenth century. The underlying theme
of nature that is persistent through romantic poetry creates a bond between the poet and the common
man through short poems that express personal emotion that all can feel, as we all are connected to
nature. This can be seen through the works of John Keats, Percy Shelley, and William Blake. Percy
Shelley was a joyful and optimistic Romantic poet of the time who was concerned with the beauty and
passions of nature, creativity, and imagination. Nature is an ever present theme in his poetry as he
feels closely connected to nature s power. Ode to the West Wind is one of his most notable poems, and
one that truly exemplifies the idea of expressing personal emotion and feeling by using metaphors
from nature. He uses the west wind to symbolize the power of nature and the imagination that was
thus inspired by nature. It was almost even an agent for change. In the poem, the wild West wind

My Experience Of School Skiing
It was February sixteenth, I was in sixth grade and I had gotten a flyer for the annual school ski trip.
More excited than ever I took it home and put it on the fridge so my mom and dad would see it when
they got home from work. Twenty minutes after they got home they hadn t said anything, so I casually
took it off the fridge and placed it on the couch between my parents in the back room. My mom
looked at me with a tired sigh and asked what is was. I happily told her that it was an application form
for a school field trip coming up! She signed the form and stated that we d be renting skis from Barrie
s Extreme Sports Store. I was surprised that this wasn t a bigger deal! I had never been skiing before
and it was clearly something that needed way more attention! It was very upsetting. But on the other
side of the couch sat my dad, who would give me anything I ever desired. I m spoiled by both my
parents but he definitely spoils me more than my mother does, not to mention his constant enthusiastic
support. Skiing?! How exciting! You ve never been right? he exclaimed Nope, never been! You ll like
it, it s exhilarating! he was clearly very excited for me. That s when my brother, Lance, walked in.
What are we talking about, Lance began, Are we going skiing! Olivia is, you aren t my mother
responded. My brother, who had lots of questions, was not understanding why his little sister got to go
and not him. But I told him the details and that it was school trip. He got

Amelia Earhart Disappearance Theory
How could someone survive a plane crash? Since Amelia Earhart s disappearance, theories were
developed trying to explain what was taken into effect, after there was no response from her in the
Pacific ocean. Some either believe that Japanese troops kidnapped her, she died as a castaway, or that
Earhart lived under another identity. In the end, Amelia Earhart did survive her attempted voyage
around the world. Earhart s mysterious disappearance lead to different theories. One of those theories
is that the Japanese kidnapped Amelia Earhart and her navigator Noonan, holding them captive.
Earhart and Noonan were making a stop on Howland island, but before they arrived they lost
connection with the U.S. Coast Guard. Years later, a picture was discovered in the U.S. National
Archives displaying what is supposed Earhart and Noonan near Japanese troops. Along with the two
missing people in the photograph, parts of plane were behind them. An American spy took the picture.
An article in:
Kent Gibson, a facial recognition expert, who studied the photo, said in the History Channel special
that it s very convincing evidence that the photo is of Noonan. The hairline is the most distinctive
characteristic, Gibson said. It s a very sharp receding hairline. The nose is very prominent.
A facial recognition expert confirmed that the U.S. spies photograph could possibly be Noonan and
Earhart. Although it is very possible for Earhart and Noonan to be kidnapped, the picture with the

This speech becomes one of the most famous speeches in American Oratory. His audience were white men, that owned slaves and land, were wealthy, and men that received advanced education, compared to most men at that time. Considering all of these factors, Henry uses kinds of logic and emotion that appealed to them. In the Convention, Following a discussion about negotiating with the British, Henry presents a counter argument, saying that the colonists should fight against the British. He takes time to develop stories unique to him and from each other. Nonetheless, all of Anderson?s films have an undeniable familiarity between them as he imprints his style on everything he creates. However, if he did not have inspiration or influences for his films, his creativity and artistic flair may not have a proper way to be displayed. His films could lack an essential essence whether in diversity of plot or themes, etc. Perhaps without influences, Anderson would not be a filmmaker at all. Fortunate for all fans of Anderson, he is inspired and does make films for many all over the world to enjoy. Packet Hiding Methods For Avoiding Attacks Packet Hiding methods For Avoiding Attacks R.Roopini M.Tech, Software Engineering Ganapathy Engineering College , Hunter Raod ,Warangal Mr.K.Ranjith Khanna Assistant Professor, Department of CSE Ganapathy Engineering College , Hunter Raod ,Warangal Abstract: the open nature of the wireless medium leaves it vulnerable to drive or wedge packets forcibly into a tight position referred as squeeze. This intentional interference with wireless transmissions can be used as a launch pad for mounting Denial of Service attacks on wireless networks typically; squeeze has been addressed under an external threat model. However, person with depth knowledge of internet protocol specifications and network secrets can launch low effort squeeze attacks that are difficult to detect and counter. In these attacks, the adversary is active only for a short period of time, selectively targeting messages of high importance. We illustrate the advantages of selective squeeze in terms of network performance degradation and adversary effort by presenting two case studies; a selective attack on TCP and one on routing. In this work, we address the problem of selective squeeze attacks in wireless networks. We show that selective squeeze attacks can be launched by performing real time packet classification at the physical layer. • 5. Alexander II And The Russian Revolution In the 1800 s Russia was facing a very difficult time. Russia s recent defeat in the Crimean war was a wake up call to the autocracy. This defeat proved to the autocracy that Russia had fallen dangerously behind their western neighbors, ultimately making it easy for other countries to attach and invade. At that point, Russia knew it was time for a change and it started with Tsar Alexander II. Alexander II took over as emperor due to his fathers (Nicholas I) death in St. Petersburg. Some say the reason for Russia s backward spiral was because of him. However, in 1855 the reign of Alexander II in Russia began and during his time he directed a period of political and social reforms. Some of the reforms Alexander II thought had to be changed included: education, military, government, and judicial. Even after trying to make multiple changes and reforms to better the government, someone was still not clicking in the Russian government. The main reason the society had so many problems dealt with the peasants. As many soviet historians have claimed, these reforms were put in place to pacify the peasantry in order to ward off revolution. During this time the peasants had to work on their lord owners land and didn t have many other options. While under the new Tsar Alexander II the government ran into a dry wall and needed a way out. With health education, there are many theories available to choose from, because of that, guidelines were developed. However, let s be honest, not all teenagers want to talk about sex in general with their parents. When the matter is not taken more serious at earlier ages, the behavior and acceptance of having unsafe sex possibly continues on into adulthood. According to O Sullivan, the practice of unsafe sex is most commonly due to an individual s lack of knowledge of what safe sex actually mean and what all is included. This essay will examine the success of this crusade through the perspective of the European force. The Third Crusade was aptly named because it was the third wave of religious soldiers to travel to the modern day Middle East and wage a war for the holy city of Jerusalem. There is a certain level of multiple causation that can be gleaned from the beginnings of this Crusade. First, Richard I had recently become king after his father Henry of England died in 1188 which may have pushed Richard to do something to prove himself to the English people. There was also the ceaseless pressure of to reclaim Jerusalem for the Christians, especially after their recent loss of the city and terrible loss at Hattin. ... Essay on Gender and Power in The Arabian Nights Gender and Power in The Arabian Nights Works Cited Not Included Contemplating the relationship between gender and power, one undoubtedly notices that tradition regards men as the holders of official office and power. Historically, men have also always been the leaders of their families, and turned to in times of trouble or need. Making generalizations is normally a weak approach to any task; in this case however, it is necessary to do so in order to illustrate how drastically opposite the situations prove in various selections from 1001 Arabian Nights. The move, an unprecedented one, highlights beautifully the incredible composure and boldness of Aladdin s mother. Even she questions, . ..how can I be so bold as to ask for the daughter of the Sultan of China...? (164) In an ironic role reversal, Aladdin s mother suddenly becomes empowered enough to carry out such a bold action. Through her ability to approach the sultan to ask the most audacious of questions, Aladdin s mother refutes classic notions of the power gender relationship. The decision to approach the sultan would have been valiant in itself for even the most courageous man; the fact that a woman did this exemplifies the empowerment of women in 1001 Arabian Nights and spurs doubt surrounding the classic idea that men are more powerful than women. Similarly, the gender power relationship is once again raised in Ali Babba and the Forty Thieves , and, like Aladdin, the empowerment of the strong female characters leads to meaningful impact on the story. • 12. The Human Body Analysis The human body components work in such a complex manner in order to keep the body functioning properly. It always works to keep itself at equilibrium, maintaining all levels of its constituents. The body controls what is ingested by analyzing it, then separating and taking whatever is needed by the cells of the body. For example; to control excess glucose within the body, several mechanisms need to take place in order to decrease the excess glucose to its appropriate level in the body. This is achieved by the help of two important glucoregulatory hormones; insulin and glucagon, which are designed to maintain flowing glucose concentrations at quite narrow ranges (Aronoff, Berkowitz, Shreiner Want, 2004). This essay will examine the events ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is where the hormones; insulin and glucagon interfere. Insulin is a regulatory hormone of glucose which is produced and released by beta cells in the pancreas; an organ located behind the stomach (Niddk.nih.gov, 2015). Insulin secretion is triggered by the presence of great amounts of glucose and it helps cells utilize glucose as a form of energy (Niddk.nih.gov, 2015). It plays a major role in how the body uses digested food for energy. It allows the body to use the immense glucose in a safe and efficient manner, as excess glucose in the blood poses illnesses upon the body. First, insulin signals the cells that there is glucose present for usage. The cells may need and take that glucose if they are in need of energy or may reject that available glucose if they have sufficient amounts of it to carry out their tasks (Anon, 2015). In the case where cells may reject the glucose, it will have to be used up differently or stored. Insulin then carries glucose to other parts of the body like the muscle and liver cells (Anon, 2015). Insulin triggers the liver and muscle cells to store excessive glucose in the form of glycogen (Bano, 2013). When the muscle and liver cells use up or store the given glucose in the form of glycogen, blood glucose levels decrease and insulin reduces the production of glucose in the liver (Bano, 2013). The stored glycogen can later be reconverted back to glucose when sugar levels fall. After providing glucose to the muscle and liver cells, the insulin will carry glucose to the adipose tissue where fat cells are present (Bano, 2013). Neither are able to find any sense of belonging, and have a craving for the companionship of someone similar to themselves. Robert Walton plays an often overlooked role in this story, although he can be considered the primary narrator. Walton is the captain of a failing expedition to the North Pole who discovers a freezing and lost Victor Frankenstein. Walton nurses Frankenstein back to health, and Frankenstein tells Walton of his misfortune of a life story. The similarities between Frankenstein and Walton are made fairly obvious, as Frankenstein himself points out their somewhat similar pursuits of knowledge and failure to realize their own limits, as well as warns Walton about the consequences of taking an obsession too far, implying that Frankenstein sees a little of himself in the captain. However, I think that there is an even more interesting observation to be made of Walton, by comparing him to the monster. Both Walter and the monster experience a considerable amount of loneliness, with a contrasting cause and a comparable effect. Both of them are also fairly intelligent, with little education, creating another parallel between the two. Walton s search for a like minded individual is seemingly endless. Walton is unable to find people with thoughts and tastes similar to his own. This is made clear in Walton s letters to his sister. The source of the monster s loneliness is a ... The mother and daughter team constructed it off of Jung s theories (History 2). Based on this system, one of the most common personality types in the US population is called an ESTJ, and one of the least common personality types is called an INFJ. There are many differences and similarities between these two types. An ESTJ personality, overall, is practical, fact based, and outgoing, whereas an INFJ personality is more private and makes decisions based on feelings; however, both are organized people who make good leaders and are capable of great success in roles that involve helping others. • 25. The Shawl, By Cynthia Ozick Between 1941 and 1945, over six million Jews were victims of the Holocaust, an attempt by the German Nazis to exterminate the Jewish race. (Holocaust The Basics ). Adolf Hitler, the leader of Germany, thought the Jews were the reason that Germany lost World War I (Jews in Nazi Germany History Learning Site). Hitler blamed them for almost all of Germany s problems and he wanted to exterminate the entire Jewish population. The Shawl , written by Cynthia Ozick, tells one of the many horrifying stories from the Holocaust. The story has three main characters: the young mother Rosa, her baby Magda, and her fourteen year old niece Stella. They were victims of the Holocaust who had an awful experience in the Nazi concentration camps. Whenever the holocaust victims had to march to different concentration camps, people who could not walk on their own in a line were shot on the spot, including infants. Rosa protects Magda by hiding her in a magic shawl, but Stella selfishly takes away the shawl, leading to Magda s death. Through the characters of Stella, Rosa, and Magda, Cynthia Ozick shows the desperation and inhumanity that resulted when the Holocaust victims were denied of their basic human rights. The Shawl is set late in World War II when the Allied forces were beginning to penetrate into Germany itself. During the Holocaust, the Nazis denied the Jews basic human rights, violating their rights to life, liberty, and property. Hitler said it was not enough for the Jews to ... • 26. The Gap Between Development And Underdevelopment In Walter Rodney s book he emphasizes the difference between development and underdevelopment. According to Rodney, development is defined as a many sided process involving individuals, social classes, and society as a whole. At the level of the individual it s represented by increased skill, greater freedom, creativity, self discipline, responsibility and material well being. Rodney paid more attention to material well being, freedom and skill at this individual representation. For Rodney the individual development is directly linked to the development of the state. For the second side of development, social class/group, Rodney states that development implies an increasing capacity to regulate both internal and external relationships. For the society as a whole, development shows how man has the ability to overcome downfalls and better their lives through making use of the earth s resources available to him. In Rodney s book, he points out how Africa fits into these definitions of development, but more so how they fit into the definition of underdevelopment. Developed states are characterized by being highly industrialized, they have low unemployment, improved social services, advanced farming industries with the technology to produce more in less time and with fewer people. Underdevelopment should not be understood as the opposite or lack of development but the very low level of development of a particular state when in comparison to other states (especially wealthier ... The play challenges common survival adaptations by introducing the desire for nostalgic art, most specifically an episode from the Simpsons. The production of Mr. Burns includes several different aspects that establish the play itself. Key components that bring a play to life are directing, acting, set design, costumes, lighting, and sound. These characteristics and features of play production are fundamentally the creation of the play. Directing and acting are essentially what produces a play. Without set design, the turmoil expressed in Act II would not have been expressed to the extent needed. The set reflected a run down version of a barely re established society. The data collected studied the Opportunity Awards Program that was started by the university. The program was intended to increase the diversity of the campus because at this time minority students made up less than .1% of the school s demographic. To measure the success of the program school administrators used the number of enrolled minority students as the gage of diversity. In the late 1980s the school changed their approach from emphasizing disadvantage to emphasizing inclusion. Open skies agreements have met some criticism, particularly within the European Union, whose airlines would be at a comparative disadvantage with the United States because of cabotage restrictions. • 45. The Romantic Works Of John Keats, Percy Shelley, And... The romantic period, lasting from the late 18th to the early 19th century, followed the Age of Reason. During this time people had an individualized, free, liberal, and imaginative attitude towards life. Literature itself was full of introspection, emotion, passion, sublimity, beauty, and spontaneity, with subjects such as humankind, the soul, flowers, the common people and more. Of all of the Romantic values and subjects, the beauty, creativity, and morals of nature is what truly inspired human imagination, and thus literature of the eighteenth and early nineteenth century. The underlying theme of nature that is persistent through romantic poetry creates a bond between the poet and the common man through short poems that express personal emotion that all can feel, as we all are connected to nature. This can be seen through the works of John Keats, Percy Shelley, and William Blake. Percy Shelley was a joyful and optimistic Romantic poet of the time who was concerned with the beauty and passions of nature, creativity, and imagination. • 46. My Experience Of School Skiing It was February sixteenth, I was in sixth grade and I had gotten a flyer for the annual school ski trip. More excited than ever I took it home and put it on the fridge so my mom and dad would see it when they got home from work. Twenty minutes after they got home they hadn t said anything, so I casually took it off the fridge and placed it on the couch between my parents in the back room. My mom looked at me with a tired sigh and asked what is was. I happily told her that it was an application form for a school field trip coming up! She signed the form and stated that we d be renting skis from Barrie s Extreme Sports Store. I was surprised that this wasn t a bigger deal! I had never been skiing before and it was clearly something that needed way more attention! It was very upsetting. But on the other side of the couch sat my dad, who would give me anything I ever desired. I m spoiled by both my parents but he definitely spoils me more than my mother does, not to mention his constant enthusiastic support. Skiing?! How exciting! You ve never been right? he exclaimed Nope, never been! You ll like it, it s exhilarating! he was clearly very excited for me. That s when my brother, Lance, walked in. What are we talking about, Lance began, Are we going skiing! Olivia is, you aren t my mother responded. My brother, who had lots of questions, was not understanding why his little sister got to go and not him. But I told him the details and that it was school trip. He got ... Since Amelia Earhart s disappearance, theories were developed trying to explain what was taken into effect, after there was no response from her in the Pacific ocean. Some either believe that Japanese troops kidnapped her, she died as a castaway, or that Earhart lived under another identity. In the end, Amelia Earhart did survive her attempted voyage around the world. Earhart s mysterious disappearance lead to different theories. One of those theories is that the Japanese kidnapped Amelia Earhart and her navigator Noonan, holding them captive. Earhart and Noonan were making a stop on Howland island, but before they arrived they lost connection with the U.S. Coast Guard. Years later, a picture was discovered in the U.S. National Archives displaying what is supposed Earhart and Noonan near Japanese troops. Along with the two missing people in the photograph, parts of plane were behind them. An American spy took the picture. An article in: Kent Gibson, a facial recognition expert, who studied the photo, said in the History Channel special that it s very convincing evidence that the photo is of Noonan. The hairline is the most distinctive characteristic, Gibson said. It s a very sharp receding hairline. The nose is very prominent. A facial recognition expert confirmed that the U.S. spies photograph could possibly be Noonan and Earhart. Although it is very possible for Earhart and Noonan to be kidnapped, the picture with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
