Ministry And Gifts Of The Holy Spirit
Ministry and gifts of the Holy Spirit Ministry and the gifts of the Holy Spirit seem to be something
that a lot of the church have forgotten about. Of course if you were raised Pentecostal, this is
something you might be rather familiar with. However, I have ever heard anybody speak in tongues
being raised in a Nazarene Church, and I was very un familiarized with these gifts. It wasn t until I
was sixteen years old that I actually heard anyone speak in tongues. I had never heard about gifts such
as prophecy, Different kind of tongs, are The interpretation of tongs. Speaking in tongues was
something that was perceive to be scary. You didn t hear of people being healed, or if you did it
seemed hush hush, but I remember the church speaking a lot about was the gift of faith. In my
research of several different places, internet and books, I have found some interesting breakdowns of
the gifts of the Spirit. Ways that I had never heard of before, that actually were quite good. So there
are nine gifts laid out in 1 Corinthians 12:8 10. These are: 1. Words of wisdom ~ ability to make
decisions and give guidance that is according to God s will. 2. Words of knowledge ~ ability to have
an in depth understanding of spiritual issues or situations...resulting in bringing wisdom and guidance.
3. Faith ~ An unmovable trust in God that results in encouraging others to trust God more, no matter
what the circumstances. 4. Gifts of Healing ~ Miraculous ability to use God s healing power to

Coors Brewing Company Case Study
Background
The Coors Brewing Company was founded back in 1873 by two German immigrants Adolph Coors
and Jacob Schueler. The two combined invested $20,000, $18,000 of which came from Schueler and
the other $2,000 from Coors. The location of the brewery was in the mining town of Golden,
Colorado. This location was picked because Mr. Coors believed the key ingredient in beer was the
water source. The river that flowed through this mining town was perfect for his beer. The two
investors worked together for seven years until Coors bought out Schueler and became the sole owner
of the brewery in 1880. When prohibition finally hit Colorado in the year 1916, Mr. Coors was forced
to find other means of making money. The brewery was converted to produce malted milk which he
would then sell to candy companies. Four years after Adolph Coors passing, in 1929, prohibition is
ended and his son, Adolph Coors Jr., takes over the family business. The distribution range of the
company quickly expands and by 1948, it stretches across 11 states. It would remain this way for
almost 30 years before they start to expand to try and reach a nationwide audience. In 2005, now in its
fourth generation of Coors family management, the Coors Brewing Company votes to merge with
Molson Brewing Company in Canada to form the Molson Coors Brewing Company. Together they are
the world s seventh largest brewer. Two years later

Changes in Africa from 500 C.E to 1500C.E
The role of religion has changed over time in West Africa from the migration of Islam bringing its new
faith, rituals, and establishment of a greater connection with the outside world through trade and
cultural diffusion. However the unique African religion that existed beforehand was still retained; the
African culture still believing in animism and polytheism even after the spread of Islam. From 1000
1500 CE the role of religion has seen changes and continuities influenced by the spread of foreign
territories, economics, and political/social systems in West Africa.

In addition Islam did not change African gender systems and supplanted original religions, rather than
replace them. Although many changes were incorporated into its spiritual life, religion still determined
the ethical/moral code of the population determining the social and cultural manner of West Africa.
The Islamization that took place within West Africa from 1000 to 1500 CE brought a variety of
religious, political, and economic changes in its society, contrary to the diversity and individuality that
remained. With the spread of Islam came a broader trading network which brought Africa new ways of
communication with the outside world, bringing new ideas of faith and migrants to the area. Though
the movement of new faiths traveled across the Sudanic states bringing new forms of worship, religion
was still the main authority that determined the ethical/ social patterns of Africa. With this in mind
much of African religion was retained, leading many people to live a life devoted to animism and
several nature deities. Around the beginning of 1500 CE much of West Africa, especially Ghana, Mali,
and the Sudanic kingdoms, became a fusion of African culture and Islamic influence, with greater
connection to the outside world and Islam while great diversity

Electronic Information At The Bedside, And Barcode...
In recent years many innovations have been made to improve qualitative and quantitative aspects in
the nursing profession. It is no secret that to accommodate the recent healthcare reform and its
elevation of insured individuals, as well as the aging population, the medical industry has had to be
more meticulous in improving nursing care and ultimately patient safety. Technological advancements
such as the electronic health record (EHR), the electronic medical administration record (EMAR), and
a handheld device used for scanning patient armbands and medications were all introduced around
2007, and have facilitated the ability of nursing staff to promote effective documentation, verification,
and overall, communication. For this reason, this paper will focus on evidence that demonstrates how
electronic documentation at the bedside, and barcode scanning, have improved nursing care and
patient safety in various aspects of the health care setting.
When it comes to documentation the mantra of phrases, If it was not documented, it was not done
resides with many nurses. As Weiss and Tappen (2015) describe, If a nurse did not do something, he or
she will be left open to negligence or malpractice charges. Documentation is of utmost importance,
and nurses are taught that the most valuable piece of information that can deter them from possibly
losing a lawsuit is in fact, documentation. Nurses must be thoroughly knowledgeable of how the
process of documentation works.

Comparing Mugshots, Grandma s Kitchen, And Baja Grill
Growing up in the south, food is a very important topic. I enjoy exploring variety of food choices such
as Italian food, Hispanic food, and Asian food. I like to dine out a lot because I am not always in the
mood to cook. My hometown has excellent choices to choose from when it comes to dinning out.
Some of my favorite restaurants are Mugshots, Grandma s Kitchen, and Baja Grill. Mugshots is one of
my favorite burger restaurants. The Will s All American burger is my ultimate favorite. It includes:
two different types of cheese, bacon, scramble eggs, mayo, and ketchup. The atmosphere of the
restaurant favors a sports hall of fame museum. They also serve crafted beer made right in the city,

Therefore, we do not anticipate that the average consumers level of real income will decrease much
over the next 5 years. Exchange rate We present percent change year over year of period average in
exchange rate of local currency to US$. We believe this indicator is important as Cott corporation s
revenue and operation are in other countries apart from United States. The exchange rate will affect
the financial performance of the company and directly affect the consolidated financial statement
because the result has to convert to US. dollar. As shown in the figure , Both Canada and United
Kingdom currencies will continually appreciate against US. dollar. Implication for Cott Based on the
general indicator it would seem as though in the short term the economy is growing from the recession
with a high level of real GDP growth of 5%. However, with the continuously increase in oil price may
hold the overall economy from going well as expected. Moreover, the exchange rate for both UK and
Canada that continuously appreciate against US may affect consumption by consumer and the
operation of the company. Overall, we expect that the economic will grow at stable rate with relatively
increase for the next 5 years. Beverage and bottling industry For beverage and bottling industry, the
cost of acquiring and converting aluminum and PET resin constitutes the majority of bottlers

Tracking Shot In Serenity Crew
Starting at around ten minutes in and lasting around six minutes long is the tracking shot for the movie
Serenity. The shot introduces the characters and gives a look at the ship. The tracking shot helps to set
the tone for how the main characters are going to interact with each other. The tracking shot starts with
the introduction of two crew members of the ship, Wash and Mal. Because the shot tracks Mal as he
interacts with the crew members viewers know he is an important character. Jayne is the next crew
member to be introduced as Mal exits the cockpit. Zoe is next on the crew list followed by Kaylee and
Simon. Once this shot has been established the viewers know the pilot is Wash, who is seat belted in

From the dialog between the Wash and Mal the viewer learns they have a sarcastic type of
relationship. Both characters are equally lit showing which helps to show they have a strong

exits his room. Jayne dresses for action with weapons strapped on, t shirt, pants, and boots. Jayne and
Mal s interaction show a boss employee type relationship but still strong enough for equal lighting.
Zoe is Wash s wife, which the viewer learns when Mal tells her to talk to your husband when she
inquires if they are crashing. Zoe is dressed for action also wearing moveable clothing, boots, and has
a weapon strapped to her leg like Mal. There is equal lighting here also, and dialogue demonstrates
friendship. Kaylee s a mechanic, as the viewers see her holding a tool while working on an engine
with soot or oil on her. Kaylee wears a coveralls with the arms cutoff and a brightly covered shirt
underneath, suggesting a happy person. The lighting here also shows a strong relationship between the
characters. Simon is the ships doctor, which is learn through verbal conversation and when he gives

A Study On The Sustainability Cluster Essay
At one point in life, one must decide on what one would like to do in their future. My studies would
focus on detail studies in the sustainability cluster. Nowadays, sustainability is a topic which research
is still maturing and design relative new. My research would emphasize in ruralization of current
urban cities that would help increase innovative design presented in urban environment in Japan.
Many major cities in the US and around the world have developed such that much of the land has been
converted into urbanized areas. With an estimated 3 million people and greater living in those urban
areas, people have exhausted the land usage and have no choice but to rely on high rise buildings.
Many modern architects and landscape architects focus their careers on trying to create sustainable
cities, but are still limited by the maximum space they can work with. Others emphasize in the
incorporation of biophilic medium to solve the problem. As land space in some countries are limited
and most are reaching its capacities, architecture should focus on innovating designs that can create an
environment that would allow the people to benefit from its agricultural and urban function. Many
cities have become overpopulated, leading to people to live in high rise complexes. Minimal spacious
rooms are designed to accommodate single families that reside in many urban cities. Families of three
or four members settle to dwell in rooms where the size is compared to those of a single living

Reaction Paper On Modafinil
Modafinil
Modafinil is a very powerful wakefulness promoting drug and stimulant that was developed to treat
narcolepsy as well as other daytime sleep disorders. Its ability to prevent fatigue and sleeplessness is
just a part of the bigger picture. Extensive testing has indicated that it offers quite an impressive list of
cognitive benefits ranging from mental alertness and enhanced mood to better memory, reduced
fatigue, improved reaction time and increased motivation.
Modafinil has been listed as a Schedule IV controlled substance and is usually sold as a prescription

The action of Modafinil on the hypothalamus is what is believed to elevate the levels of histamine thus
greatly contributing to alertness and wakefulness. The effects of Modafinil have been shown to wear
off when the natural neuronal histamine is depleted by an inhibitor that is quite powerful. It runs
counter to methylphenidate which reacts in a manner different from the histidine decarboxylase
inhibitor, fluoromethylhistidine.
Oxerin/ Hypocretin: Much of the wakefulness promoting action of Modafinil is attributed to its action
on the hypocretin, rather oxerin system of the brain. It is situated within the hypothalamus and is
responsible for regulating appetite, arousal and wakefulness. The most common forms of narcolepsy
are usually caused by a lack of hypocretin which Modafinil addresses by acting directly through
oxerin neurons. By stimulating these neurons, the production of histamines and other
neurotransmitters related to alertness and wakefulness is also enhanced.

There will be plenty of houses, cars and other things needing to be fixed. Had the criminal charges
been for murder or something of that nature, he would not have been a good choice, because one
might question his trustworthiness. These four were easy because one needs: a leader to keep things
organized, someone to provide spiritual and emotional support, and someone to put things back
together again.
For the last two slots in the shelter they had a hard time deciding. Some wanted to pick the 16 year old
pregnant girl because she would be able to help repopulate the world. Plus, it s just hard to think about
killing someone carrying a child. They had stated, though that they would use logic and, other than
bringing a child into the world she no other attributes. A movie star and an athlete are nice for
entertainment purposes, but are they necessary for rebuilding a new society. Not really. The committee
decided to give the last two slots to third year medical student and African American militant
biological researcher. The medical student can provide medical care to those that get sick or hurt. The
biological researcher can provide insight into the effects the nukes had on the environment. When
building a new society there is going to be bumps along the way. The medical student and biological

Deception In Memoirs Of A Geisha By Arthur Golden
Thesis:
In the novel, Memoirs of a Geisha, by Arthur Golden the theme of deception is prominent. Through
the deception experienced by Sayuri, golden teaches his readers that deception can hurt but it can lead
to something better.
Methods of development:
Deception from Mr. Tanaka
I couldn t stop thinking about Mr.Tanaka. He had taken me away from my mother and father, sold me
into slavery, sold my sister into something even worse. I had taken him as a kind man. I thought he
was so refined, so worldly. What a stupid child I had been. I would never go back to Yoroido, I
decided. Or if I did , it would only be to tell Mr. Tanaka how much I hated him. (Golden pg.82)
But the truth is that the afternoon when I met Mr. Tanaka Ichiro really was the best and worst of my
life. (Golden pg.7)
Sayuri admired Mr. Tanaka and wanted to become his adopted daughter, after being taken away from
her home she was extremely hurt and felt stupid for believing in him.
She felt as though her life would never be the same again, and even tried to run away risking her
chances of becoming a Geisha.
Sayuri eventually benefited from this as she herself noticed that living in Gion allowed her to become
much more successful allowing her to take care of herself. She recognized that if she had remained in
Yoroido she would have never been able to achieve success and that she would still be living in her
little tipsy house with little to support herself.
Coming to Gion is also the reason she meet the

Evangelical Protestant Essay
To properly label a Christian an evangelical Protestant, one must ask four basic questions and receive
an answer that as a whole, evangelical Protestants accept as correct . The questions are: [W]hat must a
person do to be saved?[, W]here does religious authority lie?[, W]hat is the church?[,] and [W]hat is
the essence of Christian living? ( Evangelicalism , Dictionary of Christianity in America) Through
answering and receiving the correct responses, one should be able to define an evangelical Protestant.
The answer to the first question is found in Ephesians 2:8, For by grace you have been saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God[.] One must have faith in Jesus Christ by
accepting who He claims to be, the Son of God who is God. (John 1:1 4, 3:16 17, 14:6) In accepting

Communism in the Soviet Union and Why It Failed
Communism in the Soviet Union and Why it Failed
Communism is defined as a system of political and economic organization in which property is owned
by the community and all citizens share in the enjoyment of the common wealth, more or less
according to their need. In 1917 the rise of power in the Marxist inspired Bolsheviks in Russia along
with the consolidation of power by Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin, the word communism came to
mean a totalitarian system controlled by a single political party. This came to justify that the means of
production is controlled and the wealth is distributed with the goal of producing a classless or possibly
a stateless society. The ideological meaning of communism arose in 1848 with the

Stalinism became the basic model for most of these new governments. After Stalin s death in 1953,
Nikita Khrushchev began a rapid rise and in 1956 repudiated Stalin s tyrannical excesses in his
famous Secret
Speech at the 20th party congress. The next year he became the parties leader.
Krushchev ended the practice of bloody purges of the party membership, but his rule aroused
dissatisfaction among the other party leaders. He was kicked out in 1964. Leonid Brezhnev succeeded
him and was general secretary until his death in 1982, when he was succeeded by Yuri Andropov.
Andropov died in 1984 and the position was passed to Konstantin Chernenko. After Chernenko s
death in
1985 the leadership was passed on to Mikhail Gorbachev.
Both as an ideology and a practical system for the organization of a state, communism entered a
period of crisis in the late 20th century. By the 1980 s it had become quite clear that state owned
systems of economic production were unable to provide the same standards of living obtained in many
countries with free market economies. The unequal concentrations of wealth in capitalist countries
were matched by glaring concentrations of power in communist ones. It had become clear that the
maintenance of a one party communist rule tended to limit personal freedoms in a way unknown in
parliamentary democracies. The rise to power in the Soviet Union of leader Mikhail Gorbachev in the

Moral Panic Research Paper
Describe and discuss a moral panic from a social science perspective
This essay will look at what a moral panic is and where the term came from. We will then discuss the
moral panic of the rave scene in England during the 1980s and look at how and when rave started and
why it caused such a strong feeling of panic throughout the nation.
The term moral panic was first used by Jock Young to describe his 1960s study on drug users in
Cohen s book, Images of Deviance. However, the concept of moral panics was defined by Stanley
Cohen in Folk Devils and Moral Panics. Cohen identified a moral panic as when a condition, episode,
person or group of persons emerges to become defined as a threat to societal values and interests
(Cohen, 1972). In other words, it is when society as a whole has an unreasonable fear of particular
people because of how the media has portrayed them or a disproportional and hostile social reaction to
a condition, person or group (McLaughlin and Muncie, 2013).

Chain of Custody Preservation of Evidence
Chain of Custody amp; Preservation of Evidence Idris Rawls Westwood College It does not matter the
reputation you have earned for your high integrity and honesty, you will always be open to allegations

evidence. Evidence can be anything from tangible objects such as cartridge cases and firearms to
latent fingerprints and DNA. Evidence collection or recovery step in crime scene processing is the
methods, techniques, and procedures used in retrieving evidence. Patience and care are very important

seen with the eyes. Examples might be a blood stain that was bleached out, or semen stains that can t
be seen without special lighting, or a fingerprint on an on even surface, such as a tree (pp. 400).
Saferstein, R. (2011), also argues that visible evidence are made when an object touches a surface after

The Power Of Dance
The Power of Dance
Dance has been a natural movement form since the beginning of time. The origin of dance is
unknown, just as the knowledge of the benefits of dance are unknown to many in our society. Many
people do not enjoy dancing and also do not fully understand the positive benefits that come from
dancing. Researchers such as Edwards, Duberg, and many more have found countless mental and
emotional benefits of dance that originate from movement patterns, brain connections, and even
expressions of emotion. Many are aware of the physical benefits of dance, but beyond the physical
benefits of dance, there are also emotional and mental benefits that come from dance as well.
This paper explores my main question, how does movement through dance affect the mental and
emotional dimensions of wellness? I will explore the many unknown benefits that come from dance as
well as share expressions of my personal thoughts on the subject. I will also share my personal
experiences as well as others experiences with dance. In the research portion of my paper, I will cite
studies supporting both the mental and emotional benefits of dance. This paper will also explore the
perspective of a professor of dance, as well as the lived experiences of actual dance students. My
interview will support my paper as it reinforces the findings in literature. I will discuss my future
plans on the subject of mental and emotional dance; stressing the need for individuals to dance as the
benefits can be

The Movement Of Positive Psychology
The movement of positive psychology is a reminder that our field and study has been focusing on
things like anxiety, disease, weakness, and damage. This movement urged us to shift our focus to
include the study of strength and virtue as well. Positive psychology is stating that the field of
psychology is more than just the study of illness or health but rather it is also about work, education,
insight, love, growth, and play (Seligman, 2002). Positive psychology is the study of strengths that
enable individuals and communities to thrive and it is founded on the belief that people want to lead
meaningful and fulfilling lives.
Pain, suffering, and death can be integrated into positive psychology through the idea of what gives us
meaning in life. As human beings we are always looking for meanings in our life and how we should
live. We want to cultivate what is best within ourselves. As suggested in the readings on death and
dying, the authors stated that when people become aware of their mortality, they become freer and
even more compassionate (Martin, Campbell, Henery). This is because when we realize that there is
no escaping death, we no longer live life by societal norms and rules but rather live life by our own
rules. We learn to embrace life differently by focusing on the positive aspect of our life knowing that
death is waiting. From a positive psychology perspective, we are shifting our focus from the negative
aspects of our life to the mores positive aspects

A Brief Note On Children With Down s Syndrome
Shanleigh Blackburn 670207 Paediatrics Assignment: Down s Syndrome I believe that children with
Down s Syndrome can benefit greatly from Physiotherapy, due to the physical impairments often
associated with their condition. What is Down s Syndrome?: Down s Syndrome is a genetic condition
affecting one in every 1000 births world wide. It is estimated that 700 babies are born with Down s
Syndrome annually. (Robertson, 2016) Typically, there are 23 pairs of chromosomes in a normal,
healthy human being. One pair from the mother, one from the father. Chromosomes are found in every
cell of the human body, they carry a genetic code that determines specific traits in every human being.
(Park 625 627, 2014) Occasionally, one of the chromosomes may be missing or an extra copy of a
chromosome forms. When this happens, it results in a multitude of genetic abnormalities. These
abnormalities are classified as syndromes. (ndds.org/DownsSyndrome, 2016) Downs Syndrome
(Trisomy 21) is a genetic disorder caused by a third copy of chromosome 21. (Park 625 627, 2014)
There are three different types of Down s Syndrome; Trisomy 21, the most common form of Down s
Syndrome, where an extra copy of chromosome 21 exists in every cell. In Mosaicism, there is an extra
copy of chromosome in some of the cells, these children often present with fewer symptoms. And
lastly, Translocation, where there is an extra segment attached to chromosome 21 itself, often only
affects one set of chromosomes.

Explain Why Students Should Not Be Allowed To Have Cell...
Failure to pay attention. Lack of honesty. Poor grades. These are some outcomes of allowing
cellphones in class. Eight ball or word cookies may end up causing you to fail or miss an assignment.
Students should not be allowed to have and use their cellphones because of inequality, distractions,
and dishonesty. To begin with, students should not be allowed to have cell phones in class due to
inequality. Even though most students have cell phones, some do not. Students may be embarrassed if
they don t have a cell phone like all the other students. Another reason why inequality is an issue
because of the lack of power sources. Not all classrooms provide outlets or have enough outlets for
everyone to use. Everyone charging their phones at the same time or looking for an outlet at the same
time would be chaos. Secondly, distractions are a big ordeal in class. Cell phones are a problem due to
sounds and ringtones because they can cause a distraction during a lesson. Maybe in the middle of a
test and all of a sudden a ding or a ring goes off. You get all sidetracked and then lose track of what
you were thinking of or what the answer was. You may be tempted to want to play 8 ball or word
cookies. In the middle of the game the teacher ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Beach Boys Caroline
For this week s listening journal, I listened to Caroline No by The Beach Boys. There are many
characteristics of this piece that stood out to me, such as the relationship between the lyrics and the
musical quality and the musical elements that set the tone of the music. At the exposition of Caroline
No there is an eerie drum and cymbal introduction that has a sort of call and response relationship.
The cymbals would play a short melody and the drum beat would follow, this exchange occurred a
couple of times. This exchange between the cymbals and the drums made the piece seem melancholic
and mysterious and sets the mood for the rest of the song. The quality of the voice was interesting
because it was unlike most songs of The Beach Boys I have heard of before. Throughout the song, The
Beach Boys have a slow and relaxing tempo that does not shift as the piece progresses. For the most
part, the tempo remains steady and slow. This steady tempo is accompanied by lyrics that relate to the
overall melancholic mood of the song. The song talks about a girl named Caroline that used to be a ...

where is the girl that I used to know, how could you lose that happy glow, oh Caroline no. The words
go, know, glow and no all rhyme with each other. This is also present in the second verse between the
words away and say. Furthermore, the last word of each line is sung with melisma. For instance, the
word know is sung with several notes to one syllable. This musical element adds to the smooth and
earthy timbre of The Beach Boys. Also, there is falsetto and harmony throughout Caroline No. The
Beach Boys appear to sing above their normal range and this further contributes to the smooth and
melancholic musical quality. All the singers in The Beach Boys sing in harmony to a beat in

Food Stamps Essay
Food stamps are an important component of low income families monthly resources, increasing the
chances that families are able to meet basic needs (Ratcliffe, McKernan Finegold, 2008). This form of
food relief dates back to the Great Depression when many Americans lost their jobs and did not have
money to feed their families. People were starving while farmers produced abundant crop that could
not be sold due to a lack of consumers with buying power (Dorsch, 2013). The Federal Surplus Relief
Corporation which was a part of the Agricultural Adjustment Act, bought basic farm goods at low
prices and distributed the among hunger relief agencies in different states and local communities

great addition to the Food Stamp Act because it helped to better serve those in need. In 1993, the year

The Debate on Fighting in Hockey
There is no sporting event that brings an explosion quite like that of an ice hockey fight. Ice hockey
has always been stereotyped as brutal and unnecessarily violent, a game full of players who are
nothing but goons . Fighting in hockey is a form of sanctioned violence, as it has deemed acceptable
in hockey since the introduction of the National Hockey League in 1917. The league did note even
penalize it until the 1922 NHL season (Brandon 2013). A recent political uproar has taken place within
the hockey world as more people are pushing to have fighting completely removed from the game. As

Of course the biggest reason for the idea of banning fighting in hockey is for player safety and trying
to minimize potentially severe injuries. Players of the sport know what their getting into when they
take the ice night in and night out. Players take on full responsibility and many believe it needs to be
in hockey as it has always been
The leading case for why some critics believe fighting should be banned is the number of concussions
which stem from the players being struck in the head with a punch, or from their heads hitting the ice
when falling. Although there is potential for head injuries fighting is not the leading cause. In North
America alone, there were approximately 890 000 ice hockey players; these numbers have been on a
steady incline every decade. As more and more people play the game, more injuries occur, and
concussions have become a rapidly growing cause for concern in a number of sports, not just hockey.
The number of concussions resulting from hockey injuries has increased dramatically in the past two
decades, but it is important to know what the causes of these injuries are. A study conducted by
Rodney Paul and Andrew Weinbach (2011) over the course of two years, which included 555 hockey
players who played in the BCHL, one of the leading junior hockey leagues Canada, found that of all
the concussions stemming from two complete seasons, only 7.3% were caused from fighting. The
main causes of these concussions were a

Often student oriented teaching provides a relatively convenient platform for active learning, and I
count upon feedback from students to restructure my teaching methods. I appreciate that the use of
technology can breathe new life into the traditional way of teaching a subject. Based on my
interdisciplinary academic training, I realize that classroom teaching can prepare students to apply
knowledge and skills, gained from studying a specific subject, to a variety of areas. I find it
particularly rewarding that classroom teaching also offers an interactive means for motivating
undergraduate students toward a self teaching process. My teaching and mentoring experiences have
made me realize that a key element of my teaching process should focus on engaging students in
learning by connecting their ideas and organizing their thoughts on a topic. Relying on my research

What is the purpose of schooling?
7. Does education really change the society?
Educational sociology
Educational sociology determines the initial tendency of educators to view education from a social
point of view. It included a vast array of contents taught for the purpose of teacher training and others
interested in education. Educational sociology is by definition a discipline which considers education
within the purview of needs and values of society, it starts with the premise that education is a social
fact, a process and an institution, having a social function and being determined socially. These kind
of tendencies could be found in earlier educationists like Plato, the father of the philosophy of
education, who had a deep insight into the social function of education, and most of the great
educationists, especially Comenius, Rousseau, Pestalozzi, Fichte and Dewey explored the relations
between education and society.
However, since Herbart established pedagogy as a systematic theory, the main trend of educational
theory for a long time has been individualistic, in that it took the completion of an individual being as
the aim of education, with teaching seen as a deliberate and planned process of formal instruction.
Towards the end of the nineteenth century, in opposition to this individualistic theory, a pedagogy
emerged which held that the nature of education should be considered from a

Literary Criticism Of In Cold Blood
Truman Capote s In Cold Blood is a retelling of the true account of two men slaughtering four
members of a prosperous Kansas family on the night of November 15th, 1959. Capote s factual story
of the murders of the Clutter family, the arrest of two convicts, the trial and the convictions garnered
widespread media attention and fame for Capote. However, In Cold Blood has been critically analyzed
by both worlds of fiction writers as well as journalists on claims that the book is immaculately factual
(Plimpton). In In Cold Blood, Truman Capote delivers a single cohesive narrative of a true account
which is worthy of being considered an influential work in a new literary genre: The Non Fiction
Novel (Plimpton). Capote s style creates a detached yet penetrating effect of the savage murder of an
innocent family and is deemed too violent for young minds and hence banned in 1965. In spite of the

Nineteenth Century Egypt
Nineteenth century Egypt held a pivotal stance in European politics and sparked high interest in the
Great European Powers. A dynasty of slave soldiers referred to as the Mamluks were of the earliest
rulers of Egypt. The French, Ottomans, and British all affirmed their intent on seizing the country s
bustling city capital of Cairo, with some conquests being more successful than others. France and
Britain stood as worthy leaders, but it was the basic political, social, and economical foundations
created by the Ottomans that most influenced nineteenth century Egypt. Nevertheless, each of these
world powers played a significant role in modernizing Egypt and shaping the course of its history. The
Mamluks held control of large parts of Egypt in the early eighteenth century. However, they were not
a unified force. Several Mamluk families fought for control for over a decade, and the final years of
Mamluk rule were absolutely catastrophic for Egypt. The endless fighting alongside the extremely
high taxes destroyed Egypt s trade, which was one of the first triggers of the French invasion.
Napoleon Bonaparte intended on protecting French trade interests and also using Egypt to weaken
Britain s access to India. With pride and arrogance he believed that Egypt was to benefit from the new
developments and institutions made possible by the French, just as had happened in their own
revolution. He expected the Egyptian population, who was suffering under Mamluk rule, to welcome

Rejection And Desolation In Frankenstein
When it comes to the aspect of human nature, it can be concluded that as creatures of action, often
propelled by personal emotion, it is without a doubt that human beings have continued to shift away
from society s initial and original values, which in turn, results in society s formation of a biased
judgment as they are keeping away from what they consider to different or dissimilar. Over the course
of the past decades, it has become increasingly unchallenging for human beings to stray from
traditional beliefs. Furthermore, it has become apparent that humans have been very easily motivated
by and are often fueled by selfish desires. As human beings continue to be blinded by their overriding
emotions and allow themselves to be greatly affected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Over the course of the novels, it is revealed the ways in which dangerous tendencies can lead to
rejection and ultimately to physical and mental defeat. Put bluntly, these works illustrates the ways in
which rejection and desolation affects a certain character and the epiphany that ultimately comes to
light due to the tragic consequences they face. In Heart of Darkness, Kurtz highly dangerous instincts
ultimately causes him to be more susceptible to isolation, and consequently dies, possibly as his
punishment, with his final memorable words, The horror! The horror! (164). This phrase is significant
as it is almost a sense of realization, as Kurtz, the ultimately symbol of European colonialism,
recognizes the horror in his tendencies and the ways in which he has been blind to the ways in which
it has psychologically isolated him from the people in his life and more importantly, from humanity.
Furthermore, the nightmarish outcomes of rejection are completely depicted by the influence on
Frankenstein. Frankenstein, from the minute he is faced with the manifestation of his work, flees,
claiming that he felt mingled with the horror and the bitterness of disappointment (50). This illustrates
the ways in which he initially becomes destroyed psychologically, living in fear and seeking
vengeance, and then ultimately physically by his own creation. This event is highly significant in
terms of the consequences of rejection and the ways in which natural impulsivities can lead to down
fall, in that based on the superficial details, Frankenstein had abandoned his creation and lived in
anger and depression. And through this, it is clear to readers that he truly embodies monstrosity. Due
to his instinctive actions, he comes face to face with rejection that he had

The Country Has Made Over Their Long Living History
There are four international ports that connect the United States to Central America; Juarez is one of
these important four. Juarez once known as Paso del Norte (pass of the north) lies on the Rio Grande
(Rio Bravo del Norte). Juarez was founded in the 1600s and has since been in the top ten largest
populated cities in the world. When people think of Juarez and other cities in Mexico, there are many
stigmas held strongly against them. Nowadays, Mexico is perceived as a dangerous and horrible place
to live. Of course certain assumptions and stereotypes have some validity with the drug cartel,
murders, and high crime rates playing a part in their perception of the country. However, even with the
devastation and crime there is beauty and importance that lies at the very roots of Mexico. In my paper
I wish to express the many positive impacts the country has made over their long living history. Juarez
has been a strong and thriving city with an interesting history of its people, agriculture and the
economy. The history of Juarez starts in the sixteen hundreds, specifically in sixteen fifty nine when it
was known as Paso Del Norte. Spanish explorers sought out a route though the southern part of the
Rocky Mountains. At the time there were Native Americans that had already been located in that area
which made it perfect for explores to establish a community. The community had grown in importance
with the Santa Fe and Chihuahua s commerce passing through it. The

Native Son Adaptation
In Richard Wright s novel, Native Son, the overall issue was with the main character, Bigger Thomas,
being accused of raping Mary. The film tells the story of the main character Bigger Thomas, a 20 year
old African American man who is growing up in poverty on the Southside of Chicago. Native Son
displays a series of events and decisions made by Bigger that will alter his life. The purpose of this
essay to examine Richard Wright s film adaptation of Native Son, and to argue that Bigger Thomas
proves to be guilty of murder due to being present with the victim, him covering up the crime, and his
history of violence. Wright s 1940 novel, Native Son had stirred up real controversy by shocking the
sensibilities of both black and white America. Wright was inspired to make his readers feel the reality
of race relations and that is how Native Son came about. Wright used his observances throughout the
previous decade to sculpt the inherent challenges faced by the main character, Bigger Thomas, a 20
year old African American in the South side of Chicago. In a time, when the Great Depression was
impacting the economy, the Dust Bowl was crossing the country, and an anti lynching bill failed to
pass in Congress, the context of history became an important facet of Wright s creation of the film
adaptation. Firstly, Bigger Thomas proves to be guilty because he was with Mary on the day she was
last seen by anyone. Mary, Mr. Dalton s daughter, frightens and angers Bigger by ignoring the social

Analytic Hierarchy Process And Analytic Network Process
2.3.2 MCDA Models Related to Thesis Analytic Hierarchy Process and Analytic Network Process
There are different methods to solve multi criteria decision making problems. Analytic Hierarchy
Process (AHP) and Analytic Network Process (ANP) are two methods introduced by Tomas Saaty.
AHP tries to solve the decision problem by modeling it in a hierarchy while ANP is used when the
problem is so complex that cannot be modeled as a hierarchy. This complexity occurs because of the
effect of criteria on each other or the effect of alternatives on criteria. The Analytic Network Process is
a generalization of the Analytic Hierarchy Process. ANP approach comprises four steps [87]:
Step 1: Model construction and problem structuring: The problem should be stated clearly and
decomposed into a rational system like a network
Step 2: Pairwise comparisons and priority vectors: In ANP, like AHP, pairs of decision elements at
each cluster are compared with respect to their importance towards their control criteria. In addition,
interdependencies among criteria of a cluster must also be examined pairwise; the influence of each
element on other elements can be represented by an eigenvector. The relative importance values are
determined with Saaty s scale.
Step 3: Supermatrix formation: The Supermatrix concept is similar to the Markov chain process. To
obtain global priorities in a system with interdependent influences, the local priority vectors are
entered in the appropriate columns of a

Three Era s, Three Novels
Progress is a distinctive venture of man. The constant need to predict and control, instrumented by
science and technology, has led to astonishing possibilities for which the long term consequences are
unpredictable. There is, however, no ultimate goal of progress; and as limits continue to be broken, the
boundaries of human interference in nature are expanding indefinitely. Everywhere, there is a sense of
the unconquerable forces unwittingly evoked to serve the project of progress, bringing the project
itself into question. This idea has produced three novels that suggest the improvidence of man s quest
for authority from natural law; they are: Frankenstein, by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, H.G. Well s
The Time Machine, and Brave New ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He attempts to attain this by testing the laws of creation, and giving life out of the products of death.
Mary Shelley s Victor Frankenstein is the figure of man s conflict with nature, a man who wishes to
improve upon the works of science and break the gates that distinguish the physical world. He is
driven by the philosophy that, as stated by his esteemed professor, The labours of men of genius,
however erroneously directed, scarcely ever fail in ultimately turning to the solid advantage of
mankind (34, sic). It is ideas such as this that lay the foundation for the conflicts that inevitably follow
intrusion upon natural law. Men of genius, as Shelley will portray, may have conceptions of the reality
of the physical world, but cannot attain a complete conception of the natural. Yet again and again, men
will try. Frankenstein s narrator is another plagued by the reality of impossible ambition. On his ship,
caught in ice, he believes his will is strong enough to achieve their freedom: Oh! Be men, or be more
than men. Be steady to your purposes and firm as a rock. This ice is not made of such stuff as your
hearts may be; it is mutable and cannot withstand you if you say that it shall not. Return as heroes who
have fought and conquered and who know not what it is to turn their backs on the foe (198). To be
more than men is the ignorance that all three authors

Lack Of Ethics In College Sports
College Sports: The Modern Plantation
Currently, in America, there is a business in which the laborers put their bodies and health at risk
while bringing in billions of dollars in revenue. One could not be blamed for assuming that these
laborers must earn a fantastic living for themselves, yet this could not be further from the truth.
College athletes are considered amateurs and therefore are entitled to zero financial compensation.
While bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars for their schools, these athletes receive only a place
to sleep and tuition free education at the school. In America today the mostly white profiteers of this
system are legally committing fraud and profiting off of thebacks of young minority athletes; in this

Eugene McCormack stated in an article for the Chronicle of Higher Education that this alone is a huge
benefit for student athletes. He writes, there are many programs that help pay for the costs of college
athletes to return to school after their playing careers have concluded. This argument fails to hold up
when one realizes that if the student athlete is actually encouraged to focus on schools there should not
be so many trying to go back and finish. While no doubt it is a positive that these Universities are
allowing former athletes to come back, there should ve been more incentive to do well in class the first

Teenage Underage Drinking
In this day and age, underage drinking is very much rampant among teenagers ages 12 years old to 17
years old. It truly cannot be denied that teens of this generation are very much liberated and out there .
Because of these traits, the generation of teens is very much likely to indulge in alcohol drinking. This
is an issue that must be addressed for it possess a threat to the present generation and the generations
to come. An output of being liberated is the tendency for teenagers to frequently socialize with a
variety of people and this usually leads to influencing one another in various habits and one common
habit is alcohol drinking. Social factors like peer pressure, lack of guidance and a negative family
background can profoundly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A teenager on his or her crucial stages of development, have not fully developed the skill of decision
making. Thus pressure one feels from peers and the persistent exposure to the act can cause the
individual to eventually indulge in underage drinking for social acceptance. The struggle to fit in is
always a constant issue amongst our teenagers in this generation. And underage drinking has been a
status qualifier that signifies a person s dominance and liberation. This is why most peers would
encourage themselves to engage in such habits. Apart from that, without proper guidance and
supervision from parents or guardians, teenagers most likely are at risk to engage in underage
drinking. Without the reinforcement, they will grow up to believe that such habit is a form of mere
socialization and not a fatal grip for their future. Guidance is truly relevant. Without it, one day you
may realize the effect of underage drinking is very much morbid or worse, irreversible. Lastly, a
negative family environment is truly a major factor that molds a teen s young mind into what is
socially acceptable and what is not. If alcohol drinking is freely displayed at home, then this kind of
notion is most likely hardwired on the teenagers subconscious mind causing him/her to be very much
okay with the set up. A negative family environment will most likely cause the individual to engage in
negative coping mechanisms: such as underage drinking. Based on the data the researchers have
collected and the survey conducted, the researchers conclude that social factors strongly influence the
alcoholic tendencies of selected Engineering students because of peer pressure, lack of guidance and
negative family

Iwit Event Analysis
Event Purpose The 2017 Indy Women in Tech (IWIT) Championship presented by Guggenhein was a
new tournament for the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Over 140 players competed in
the LPGA event, which included several ancillary events in the buildup to the three day tournament in
support of STEM education and the Indianapolis tech scene. The LPGA event not only highlighted
STEM and tech, but showcased the Indianapolis Motor Speedway s course, the Brickyard Crossing
Golf Course.
Former Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, who works with Indy Women in Tech Inc., was a driving
force behind the multi year deal to bring IWiT to the city. The organization s mission is, To inspire
women and girls of all ages to pursue stem related ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, several attendees were there because of work or worked for one of the sponsored organizations.
The average age at the event was early 40s with more than 50% of attendees being college graduates.
Based off of the demographics of attendees, I would say golf is considered a favorite sport to over half
of those in attendance.
History
The IWiT Championship is a first time event with a commitment to continue to stay in Indianapolis
for three years. The tournament has committed to financially support local initiatives through
marketing platforms. In its first year, the tournament drew thousands of attendees each day. Not only
did it bring a vast amount of attendees, the event exposed attendees to the technology industry.
Impacts
The economic impact of IWiT resulted in national and international travel to the event, resulting in
hotel bookings. IWiT enhanced the continued sport reputation that Indianapolis upholds. Also, the
event drove direct facility operational expenditures for the Brickyard Crossing course and capital
investments to improve the grounds. The tournament engaged with outside courses and country clubs
to provoke day trips and overnight trips to attend the event. By staging the event, I would presume that
authorities lost money even though the city benefited greatly in terms of additional spending.
IWiT s initiatives to expose the tech hub that has relocated to Indianapolis has brought awareness to
the environmental

Thesis Statement For The Dust Bowl
= Topic sentence = Thesis Statement = Explanation = Quote
The dust storm was a hard decade for most people. People struggling to survive in the dark dust flying
around, making everyone sick and causing people to get serious diseases. My opinion is that, The Dust
Bowl negatively affected people who lived there in a personal way. The reasons are that diseases
spread around and dust was everywhere, life was hard during the Dust Bowl, and it was a depressing,
stressful time for people in the Dust Bowl and it was the worst man made disaster. During the dust
storm, a lot of diseases spreaded around and dust got everywhere. Those who inhaled the airborne

75% of the country and severely affect all of the prairie states . (30 Dust Bowl Facts: US History For

Of course if you were raised Pentecostal, this is something you might be rather familiar with. However, I have ever heard anybody speak in tongues being raised in a Nazarene Church, and I was very un familiarized with these gifts. It wasn t until I was sixteen years old that I actually heard anyone speak in tongues. I had never heard about gifts such as prophecy, Different kind of tongs, are The interpretation of tongs. Speaking in tongues was something that was perceive to be scary. You didn t hear of people being healed, or if you did it seemed hush hush, but I remember the church speaking a lot about was the gift of faith. In my research of several different places, internet and books, I have found some interesting breakdowns of the gifts of the Spirit. Ways that I had never heard of before, that actually were quite good. So there are nine gifts laid out in 1 Corinthians 12:8 10. These are: 1. Words of wisdom ~ ability to make decisions and give guidance that is according to God s will. 2. Words of knowledge ~ ability to have an in depth understanding of spiritual issues or situations...resulting in bringing wisdom and guidance. 3. Faith ~ An unmovable trust in God that results in encouraging others to trust God more, no matter what the circumstances. 4. Gifts of Healing ~ Miraculous ability to use God s healing power to ... • 4. Coors Brewing Company Case Study Logan M. Smith CWID: 11528601 MGMT 4513 Coors Brewing Company Case Study Background The Coors Brewing Company was founded back in 1873 by two German immigrants Adolph Coors and Jacob Schueler. The two combined invested $20,000, $18,000 of which came from Schueler and the other $2,000 from Coors. The location of the brewery was in the mining town of Golden, Colorado. This location was picked because Mr. Coors believed the key ingredient in beer was the water source. The river that flowed through this mining town was perfect for his beer. The two investors worked together for seven years until Coors bought out Schueler and became the sole owner of the brewery in 1880. When prohibition finally hit Colorado in the year 1916, Mr. Coors was forced to find other means of making money. The brewery was converted to produce malted milk which he would then sell to candy companies. Four years after Adolph Coors passing, in 1929, prohibition is ended and his son, Adolph Coors Jr., takes over the family business. The distribution range of the company quickly expands and by 1948, it stretches across 11 states. It would remain this way for almost 30 years before they start to expand to try and reach a nationwide audience. In 2005, now in its fourth generation of Coors family management, the Coors Brewing Company votes to merge with Molson Brewing Company in Canada to form the Molson Coors Brewing Company. Together they are the world s seventh largest brewer. Two years later ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However the unique African religion that existed beforehand was still retained; the African culture still believing in animism and polytheism even after the spread of Islam. From 1000 1500 CE the role of religion has seen changes and continuities influenced by the spread of foreign territories, economics, and political/social systems in West Africa. In addition Islam did not change African gender systems and supplanted original religions, rather than replace them. Although many changes were incorporated into its spiritual life, religion still determined the ethical/moral code of the population determining the social and cultural manner of West Africa. The Islamization that took place within West Africa from 1000 to 1500 CE brought a variety of religious, political, and economic changes in its society, contrary to the diversity and individuality that remained. With the spread of Islam came a broader trading network which brought Africa new ways of communication with the outside world, bringing new ideas of faith and migrants to the area. Though the movement of new faiths traveled across the Sudanic states bringing new forms of worship, religion was still the main authority that determined the ethical/ social patterns of Africa. With this in mind much of African religion was retained, leading many people to live a life devoted to animism and several nature deities. Around the beginning of 1500 CE much of West Africa, especially Ghana, Mali, and the Sudanic kingdoms, became a fusion of African culture and Islamic influence, with greater connection to the outside world and Islam while great diversity ... • 6. Electronic Information At The Bedside, And Barcode... In recent years many innovations have been made to improve qualitative and quantitative aspects in the nursing profession. It is no secret that to accommodate the recent healthcare reform and its elevation of insured individuals, as well as the aging population, the medical industry has had to be more meticulous in improving nursing care and ultimately patient safety. Technological advancements such as the electronic health record (EHR), the electronic medical administration record (EMAR), and a handheld device used for scanning patient armbands and medications were all introduced around 2007, and have facilitated the ability of nursing staff to promote effective documentation, verification, and overall, communication. For this reason, this paper will focus on evidence that demonstrates how electronic documentation at the bedside, and barcode scanning, have improved nursing care and patient safety in various aspects of the health care setting. When it comes to documentation the mantra of phrases, If it was not documented, it was not done resides with many nurses. As Weiss and Tappen (2015) describe, If a nurse did not do something, he or she will be left open to negligence or malpractice charges. Documentation is of utmost importance, and nurses are taught that the most valuable piece of information that can deter them from possibly losing a lawsuit is in fact, documentation. Nurses must be thoroughly knowledgeable of how the process of documentation works. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My studies would focus on detail studies in the sustainability cluster. Nowadays, sustainability is a topic which research is still maturing and design relative new. My research would emphasize in ruralization of current urban cities that would help increase innovative design presented in urban environment in Japan. Many major cities in the US and around the world have developed such that much of the land has been converted into urbanized areas. With an estimated 3 million people and greater living in those urban areas, people have exhausted the land usage and have no choice but to rely on high rise buildings. Many modern architects and landscape architects focus their careers on trying to create sustainable cities, but are still limited by the maximum space they can work with. Others emphasize in the incorporation of biophilic medium to solve the problem. As land space in some countries are limited and most are reaching its capacities, architecture should focus on innovating designs that can create an environment that would allow the people to benefit from its agricultural and urban function. Many cities have become overpopulated, leading to people to live in high rise complexes. Minimal spacious rooms are designed to accommodate single families that reside in many urban cities. • 17. Deception In Memoirs Of A Geisha By Arthur Golden Thesis: In the novel, Memoirs of a Geisha, by Arthur Golden the theme of deception is prominent. Through the deception experienced by Sayuri, golden teaches his readers that deception can hurt but it can lead to something better. Methods of development: Deception from Mr. Tanaka I couldn t stop thinking about Mr.Tanaka. He had taken me away from my mother and father, sold me into slavery, sold my sister into something even worse. I had taken him as a kind man. I thought he was so refined, so worldly. What a stupid child I had been. I would never go back to Yoroido, I decided. Or if I did , it would only be to tell Mr. Tanaka how much I hated him. (Golden pg.82) But the truth is that the afternoon when I met Mr. Tanaka Ichiro really was the best and worst of my life. (Golden pg.7) Sayuri admired Mr. Tanaka and wanted to become his adopted daughter, after being taken away from her home she was extremely hurt and felt stupid for believing in him. • 18. Evangelical Protestant Essay To properly label a Christian an evangelical Protestant, one must ask four basic questions and receive an answer that as a whole, evangelical Protestants accept as correct . The questions are: [W]hat must a person do to be saved?[, W]here does religious authority lie?[, W]hat is the church?[,] and [W]hat is the essence of Christian living? ( Evangelicalism , Dictionary of Christianity in America) Through answering and receiving the correct responses, one should be able to define an evangelical Protestant. The answer to the first question is found in Ephesians 2:8, For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God[.] One must have faith in Jesus Christ by accepting who He claims to be, the Son of God who is God. Both as an ideology and a practical system for the organization of a state, communism entered a period of crisis in the late 20th century. By the 1980 s it had become quite clear that state owned systems of economic production were unable to provide the same standards of living obtained in many countries with free market economies. The unequal concentrations of wealth in capitalist countries were matched by glaring concentrations of power in communist ones. We will then discuss the moral panic of the rave scene in England during the 1980s and look at how and when rave started and why it caused such a strong feeling of panic throughout the nation. The term moral panic was first used by Jock Young to describe his 1960s study on drug users in Cohen s book, Images of Deviance. However, the concept of moral panics was defined by Stanley Cohen in Folk Devils and Moral Panics. Cohen identified a moral panic as when a condition, episode, person or group of persons emerges to become defined as a threat to societal values and interests (Cohen, 1972). In other words, it is when society as a whole has an unreasonable fear of particular people because of how the media has portrayed them or a disproportional and hostile social reaction to a condition, person or group (McLaughlin and Muncie, 2013). Positive psychology is stating that the field of psychology is more than just the study of illness or health but rather it is also about work, education, insight, love, growth, and play (Seligman, 2002). Positive psychology is the study of strengths that enable individuals and communities to thrive and it is founded on the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives. Pain, suffering, and death can be integrated into positive psychology through the idea of what gives us meaning in life. As human beings we are always looking for meanings in our life and how we should live. We want to cultivate what is best within ourselves. As suggested in the readings on death and dying, the authors stated that when people become aware of their mortality, they become freer and even more compassionate (Martin, Campbell, Henery). This is because when we realize that there is no escaping death, we no longer live life by societal norms and rules but rather live life by our own rules. We learn to embrace life differently by focusing on the positive aspect of our life knowing that death is waiting. Chromosomes are found in every cell of the human body, they carry a genetic code that determines specific traits in every human being. Eight ball or word cookies may end up causing you to fail or miss an assignment. Students should not be allowed to have and use their cellphones because of inequality, distractions, and dishonesty. To begin with, students should not be allowed to have cell phones in class due to inequality. Even though most students have cell phones, some do not. Students may be embarrassed if they don t have a cell phone like all the other students. Another reason why inequality is an issue because of the lack of power sources. Not all classrooms provide outlets or have enough outlets for everyone to use. Everyone charging their phones at the same time or looking for an outlet at the same time would be chaos. There are many characteristics of this piece that stood out to me, such as the relationship between the lyrics and the musical quality and the musical elements that set the tone of the music. Educational sociology is by definition a discipline which considers education within the purview of needs and values of society, it starts with the premise that education is a social fact, a process and an institution, having a social function and being determined socially. These kind of tendencies could be found in earlier educationists like Plato, the father of the philosophy of education, who had a deep insight into the social function of education, and most of the great educationists, especially Comenius, Rousseau, Pestalozzi, Fichte and Dewey explored the relations between education and society. Up until the release of In Cold Blood, the non fiction novel lived in the form of many guises. Spanning several centuries from the end of the sixteenth century to the beginning of the twentieth century, several phases of documentary novel or the non fiction novel had been evolving in the literary world (Wainwright 2). One of the formulations, the metahistorical novel took the historical accuracy of an event with no factual accuracy. Others were more autobiographical, namely: the fictional autobiography (Wainwright 2). With the advent of the release of Capote s novel, In Cold Blood, a new style of writing emerged giving it the name: New Journalism. • 38. Nineteenth Century Egypt Nineteenth century Egypt held a pivotal stance in European politics and sparked high interest in the Great European Powers. A dynasty of slave soldiers referred to as the Mamluks were of the earliest rulers of Egypt. The French, Ottomans, and British all affirmed their intent on seizing the country s bustling city capital of Cairo, with some conquests being more successful than others. France and Britain stood as worthy leaders, but it was the basic political, social, and economical foundations created by the Ottomans that most influenced nineteenth century Egypt. Nevertheless, each of these world powers played a significant role in modernizing Egypt and shaping the course of its history. The Mamluks held control of large parts of Egypt in the early eighteenth century. However, they were not a unified force. Several Mamluk families fought for control for over a decade, and the final years of Mamluk rule were absolutely catastrophic for Egypt. The endless fighting alongside the extremely high taxes destroyed Egypt s trade, which was one of the first triggers of the French invasion. Napoleon Bonaparte intended on protecting French trade interests and also using Egypt to weaken Britain s access to India. With pride and arrogance he believed that Egypt was to benefit from the new developments and institutions made possible by the French, just as had happened in their own revolution. He expected the Egyptian population, who was suffering under Mamluk rule, to welcome them as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rejection And Desolation In Frankenstein When it comes to the aspect of human nature, it can be concluded that as creatures of action, often propelled by personal emotion, it is without a doubt that human beings have continued to shift away from society s initial and original values, which in turn, results in society s formation of a biased judgment as they are keeping away from what they consider to different or dissimilar. Over the course of the past decades, it has become increasingly unchallenging for human beings to stray from traditional beliefs. Furthermore, it has become apparent that humans have been very easily motivated by and are often fueled by selfish desires. Over the course of the novels, it is revealed the ways in which dangerous tendencies can lead to rejection and ultimately to physical and mental defeat. Put bluntly, these works illustrates the ways in which rejection and desolation affects a certain character and the epiphany that ultimately comes to light due to the tragic consequences they face. In Heart of Darkness, Kurtz highly dangerous instincts ultimately causes him to be more susceptible to isolation, and consequently dies, possibly as his punishment, with his final memorable words, The horror! The horror! (164). This phrase is significant as it is almost a sense of realization, as Kurtz, the ultimately symbol of European colonialism, recognizes the horror in his tendencies and the ways in which he has been blind to the ways in which it has psychologically isolated him from the people in his life and more importantly, from humanity. Furthermore, the nightmarish outcomes of rejection are completely depicted by the influence on Frankenstein. Frankenstein, from the minute he is faced with the manifestation of his work, flees, claiming that he felt mingled with the horror and the bitterness of disappointment (50). This illustrates the ways in which he initially becomes destroyed psychologically, living in fear and seeking vengeance, and then ultimately physically by his own creation. This event is highly significant in terms of the consequences of rejection and the ways in which natural impulsivities can lead to down fall, in that based on the superficial details, Frankenstein had abandoned his creation and lived in anger and depression. And through this, it is clear to readers that he truly embodies monstrosity. Due to his instinctive actions, he comes face to face with rejection that he had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. The Country Has Made Over Their Long Living History There are four international ports that connect the United States to Central America; Juarez is one of these important four. Juarez once known as Paso del Norte (pass of the north) lies on the Rio Grande (Rio Bravo del Norte). Juarez was founded in the 1600s and has since been in the top ten largest populated cities in the world. When people think of Juarez and other cities in Mexico, there are many stigmas held strongly against them. Nowadays, Mexico is perceived as a dangerous and horrible place to live. Of course certain assumptions and stereotypes have some validity with the drug cartel, murders, and high crime rates playing a part in their perception of the country. However, even with the devastation and crime there is beauty and importance that lies at the very roots of Mexico. In my paper I wish to express the many positive impacts the country has made over their long living history. Juarez has been a strong and thriving city with an interesting history of its people, agriculture and the economy. The history of Juarez starts in the sixteen hundreds, specifically in sixteen fifty nine when it was known as Paso Del Norte. Spanish explorers sought out a route though the southern part of the Rocky Mountains. At the time there were Native Americans that had already been located in that area which made it perfect for explores to establish a community. • 44. Native Son Adaptation In Richard Wright s novel, Native Son, the overall issue was with the main character, Bigger Thomas, being accused of raping Mary. The film tells the story of the main character Bigger Thomas, a 20 year old African American man who is growing up in poverty on the Southside of Chicago. Native Son displays a series of events and decisions made by Bigger that will alter his life. The purpose of this essay to examine Richard Wright s film adaptation of Native Son, and to argue that Bigger Thomas proves to be guilty of murder due to being present with the victim, him covering up the crime, and his history of violence. Wright s 1940 novel, Native Son had stirred up real controversy by shocking the sensibilities of both black and white America. Wright was inspired to make his readers feel the reality of race relations and that is how Native Son came about. Wright used his observances throughout the previous decade to sculpt the inherent challenges faced by the main character, Bigger Thomas, a 20 year old African American in the South side of Chicago. In a time, when the Great Depression was impacting the economy, the Dust Bowl was crossing the country, and an anti lynching bill failed to pass in Congress, the context of history became an important facet of Wright s creation of the film adaptation. Firstly, Bigger Thomas proves to be guilty because he was with Mary on the day she was last seen by anyone. Mary, Mr. Dalton s daughter, frightens and angers Bigger by ignoring the social ... • 45. Analytic Hierarchy Process And Analytic Network Process 2.3.2 MCDA Models Related to Thesis Analytic Hierarchy Process and Analytic Network Process There are different methods to solve multi criteria decision making problems. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Analytic Network Process (ANP) are two methods introduced by Tomas Saaty. AHP tries to solve the decision problem by modeling it in a hierarchy while ANP is used when the problem is so complex that cannot be modeled as a hierarchy. This complexity occurs because of the effect of criteria on each other or the effect of alternatives on criteria. The Analytic Network Process is a generalization of the Analytic Hierarchy Process. ANP approach comprises four steps [87]: Step 1: Model construction and problem structuring: The problem should be stated clearly and decomposed into a rational system like a network Step 2: Pairwise comparisons and priority vectors: In ANP, like AHP, pairs of decision elements at each cluster are compared with respect to their importance towards their control criteria. In addition, interdependencies among criteria of a cluster must also be examined pairwise; the influence of each element on other elements can be represented by an eigenvector. The relative importance values are determined with Saaty s scale. Step 3: Supermatrix formation: The Supermatrix concept is similar to the Markov chain process. To obtain global priorities in a system with interdependent influences, the local priority vectors are entered in the appropriate columns of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Three Era s, Three Novels Progress is a distinctive venture of man. The constant need to predict and control, instrumented by science and technology, has led to astonishing possibilities for which the long term consequences are unpredictable. There is, however, no ultimate goal of progress; and as limits continue to be broken, the boundaries of human interference in nature are expanding indefinitely. Everywhere, there is a sense of the unconquerable forces unwittingly evoked to serve the project of progress, bringing the project itself into question. This idea has produced three novels that suggest the improvidence of man s quest for authority from natural law; they are: Frankenstein, by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, H.G. Mary Shelley s Victor Frankenstein is the figure of man s conflict with nature, a man who wishes to improve upon the works of science and break the gates that distinguish the physical world. He is driven by the philosophy that, as stated by his esteemed professor, The labours of men of genius, however erroneously directed, scarcely ever fail in ultimately turning to the solid advantage of mankind (34, sic). It is ideas such as this that lay the foundation for the conflicts that inevitably follow intrusion upon natural law. Men of genius, as Shelley will portray, may have conceptions of the reality of the physical world, but cannot attain a complete conception of the natural. Yet again and again, men will try. Frankenstein s narrator is another plagued by the reality of impossible ambition. On his ship, caught in ice, he believes his will is strong enough to achieve their freedom: Oh! Be men, or be more than men. Be steady to your purposes and firm as a rock. This ice is not made of such stuff as your hearts may be; it is mutable and cannot withstand you if you say that it shall not. The struggle to fit in is always a constant issue amongst our teenagers in this generation. And underage drinking has been a status qualifier that signifies a person s dominance and liberation. This is why most peers would encourage themselves to engage in such habits. Apart from that, without proper guidance and supervision from parents or guardians, teenagers most likely are at risk to engage in underage drinking. Without the reinforcement, they will grow up to believe that such habit is a form of mere socialization and not a fatal grip for their future. Guidance is truly relevant.
