Continuous Quality Improvement Examples
Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) is an iterative process of: planning to improve a product or
process, plan implementation, analyzing and comparing results against those expected, and corrective
action on differences between actual and expected results. It is little used in clinical medicine. Anemia,
a complex problem in End Stage Renal Disease patients, served to test the ability of an unique
electronic medical record (EMR) optimized for daily care to empower CQI in practice. They used data
collected during daily care, stored in the EMR, and organized to display temporal relationships
between clinical, laboratory, and therapeutic events. Continuous Quality Improvement was invented
by Shewhart over 50 years ago, and he applied

Human Corruption depicts the abandoning of societal norms...
Human Corruption depicts the abandoning of societal norms and values for an unfair advantage or for
various other reasons including greed for wealth. Clearly, the person engaging in such activities is
driven by an ulterior motive or a vested interest through which he/she hopes to gain and take
advantage of their power against society with disregard to the rules and regulations governing such
behaviour. This central idea is explored vastly in Prayer before Birth , War Photographer , Mother in A
Refugee Camp and the three other poems through the use of elements such as stylistic features,
language techniques and form and structure. The respective poets employ these techniques in different
ways. In Prayer Before Birth , MacNeice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The images were described as spools of suffering . Sibilance is employed here to convey the pathos
and agony of the victims in the war situation, which has brought terrifying memories into the mind of
the photographer s memory. Pathos is also used in the poem Aunt Jennifer s Tigers in the line her
terrified hands will lie, still ringed with the ordeals she was mastered by as they convey the Aunt s
acceptance to the authority of the husband. The death of her husband wasn t enough to heal the
wounds from his torture and atrocities, which haunted her and left her scarred for life. The war
photographer remembers vaguely the woman whose permission he sought without words to do what
someone must in order to take a picture of her dead husband so that he can bring the deathly image
back home for work purposes. He is deeply saddened by this because the everyday society in which he
is living show apathy to the other realm where people suffer and die pointlessly in the war fields. He
realizes the pain he inflicts towards himself and the other suffering people due to the fact that he is
making a living out of capturing images of people s misery.
The fact that the main person remains anonymous throughout the poem, suggests that anyone in this
world, even you and I, could be also living a double life. This man is the symbol of truth for the
tragedy of society and

Definition Essay On Patriarchy
Guess What? You re a Feminist! Feminism is not a radical movement or a fringe movement or an
embarrassment or a fraud. Feminism is simple. The patriarchy does exist. To identify as a feminist is
to acknowledge that women are people, and, as such, women deserve the same social, economic, and
political rights and opportunities as other styles of people (i.e., men people). To be a feminist is also to
acknowledge that the world is not, currently, a fair and just and safe place for women to exist. Because
it is not. Obviously (see: everything ever). To deny these things makes you, at worst, a bad person who
hates women, including but not limited to: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Aniston,
Jennifer Lopez, your mother, Jennifer Lopez s mother, Jennifer Garner s Aunt Marcy, Michelle
Obama, Ellen DeGeneres, Cher, Julie Andrews, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney
Kardashian, Kraken Kardashian, Karphone Kardashian, Kickball Kardashian, Kornkob Kardashian,
and THE VIRGIN FUCKING MARY. At best, it makes you a complacent idiot. ONE MORE TIME:
If you are not a feminist (or something blamelessly ignorant, like a baby or a ferret or a college
freshman), then you are a bad person. Those are the only options. You either believe that women are
people, or you don t. To help you pick one, here ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Irving Independent School District V. Tatro Case Study
Special education programs and services are available in many school and are fast growing. In a high
school, a principal named Debbie Young has been presented with a situation with the parents of a
special education student. Mrs. Young has been a special education teacher and assistant principal in a
progressive and affluent school district in the South. Mrs. Young was approached by the parents of
Jonathan a severely disabled tenth grader whose parents want him to attend one of the schools in the
district. He is profoundly mentally disabled, has spastic quadriplegia, and has a seizure disorder. Mrs.
Young refuses his parent s request because of the huge expenses and the school is not an appropriate
place for Jonathan. Board of Education v. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Garrett F. (1999), is a case presented to argue that Debbie Young s decision to refuse Jonathan to
attend one of the schools in the district is wrong. In the case of Cedar Rapids Independent School
District v. Garrett F. (1999), Garrett is a student who is quadriplegic and is ventilator dependent,
therefore, he requires an individual nearby to attend to certain physical needs while he is in school.
His parents provided nursing services at school until he entered fifth grade. They then requested that
the school district to provide the services. The school district declined. The parents filed a suit against
the school district. In the end, the court agreed with the parents. It was granted that nursing services
were not related services, instead excluded medical services. Meaning that the student needed these
services to attend school. This case would help Jonathan s parents to prove that Mrs. Youngs refusal of
Jonathan was not right. Students with special needs have rights and protections under IDEA which
means that there must be some services provided to for them if its needed for them to attend school. In
their IEP, that is prepared for each student to receive special education services, a school must provide
these services to help the students attend school and receive an appropriate

Influence Of Aerodynamics On Subaru Sports Sedan Race Car
When a body moves with high velocity at that moment aerodynamics forces such as drag, lift (or
down force) are the primary concern that are caused by the airflow over the body. In engineering
aerodynamics principles are applied in every kind of design or structures such as automobiles,
aeroplanes, tall buildings and bridges. However, largely the aerodynamics principles are applied on
aeroplanes and automobiles. This project involves the influence of aerodynamics principles over the
rear wing of a Subaru Sports Sedan race car.

Comparing Meliodas s Character And Characters
Meliodas is undoubtedly my favorite anime character and character of this series. I love his calm and
strong personality and I ve completely fallen in love with his character design. He is the main
protagonist of the the Nanatsu No Taizai/Seven Deadly Sins series. He is the captain of the framed
Deadly Sins and owner of a tavern named the Boar Hat. He owns a demon splitting sword, Lostvayne,
and his main magical ability is Full Counter. His closest relationship is with a young girl named
Elizabeth. They meet when she is on the search for the Seven Deadly Sins. Even though he has the
appearance of a young child, Meliodas is over three thousand years old. He has emerald green eyes,
and messy blonde hair. He is very muscular, yet his height is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

But it is believed that Meliodas past stretches at least three thousand years back. He was close with the
Ten Commandments during the time the Ancient War occurred. Before the Demon Sealing, he has also
clashed swords with his own brother, Zeldris. The time point is unknown since Fairy Time is
unknown, but Meliodas was also among the knights during King s arrest for watching slaughter.
During that time, Meliodas was a Holy Knight for another kingdom, so afterwards, years later, he
became a Great Holy Knight in Danafor. He rescued a slave girl named Liz during this time even
though she protested against him. Liz began to fall in love with Meliodas after the two had grown
close, and they became lovers in which she was the most important person to him. Yet, Fraudrin
somehow found a way to escape the Demon Sealing years ago and nearly destroyed Danafor, in which
murdered Liz, right in front of Meliodas eyes. He apologized for not saving her but Liz told him they
d meet again and not to forget what they fought for which she is later shown to be Elizabeth. After
finally watching Liz die, Meliodas anger went out of control and he wiped off the entire Kingdom of
Danafor off the the face of the

The Satirical Transformation Of Gulliver Essay
The Satirical Transformation of Gulliver
Swift s Gulliver s Travels is difficult to come to terms with for a multitude of reasons. The most
immediate problem is that of genre. How may Gulliver s Travels be categorized? It s a fiction; it s
written in prose; it s a children s tale; it s a comedy; it s a tragedy; however, to say this is to say very
little. Clearly it s satirical, but that is not to say it s a satire. Arther E. Case, for example, thinks that it s
not a satire: it would be more accurate and more illuminating to call it a politico sociological treatise
much of which is couched in the medium of satire (Four Essays on Gulliver s Travels p. 105). In
response to Case s classification, I offer a question: what s the purpose of formal specification if there
are numerous imprecise labels to which this work may conform? Swift s masterpiece should be
entitled to its own donnée; thus, for the sake of this essay, I will shy from all comprehensive forms of
categorization. Instead, I ll consider Gulliver s Travels on its own terms, sui generis, to interpret its
unique presuppositions, many of which are expressed satirically. By allowing Gulliver, an uncritical
lover of man, to become a hypercritical hater of man, Swift has it both ways: Gulliver functions as
both the object and instrument of satire (Four Essays on Gulliver s Travels 106).
Perhaps one could reduce Gulliver s voyage to the country of the Houyhnhnms by describing it as a
carefully devised fable; however, this

Cambodia s Dominant Textiles Today
Cambodia is a country that has endured an abundance of war and turmoil, however over recent
decades the country has slowly recovered their rich culture and traditions that they lost during the
Vietnam War. The country today, still suffers from the loss they have endured within the structure of
their culture and society. In fact, Cambodia s dominant textiles today are an affect of the lost traditions
that have faded during the Vietnam War. Though warfare has torn a hole into their history taking
valuable traditions away from the country, Cambodia has adapted their way of dress and textiles
slowly to the modern world.
Located in Southeast Asia bordered by Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, Cambodia has a tropical warm
climate that is present year round. This accounts for the light daily attire as well as temple attire that
are worn throughout the country. Buddhism is practiced by 96.4 percent of Cambodians. The vast
majority of these belong to the Theravada school of Buddhism, which is also the official state religion
(Colgan, A. n.d. The People section, para. 3). The country s predominantly Buddhism following have
a profound impact on the art and textiles that have remained the same throughout the turmoil of the
Vietnam War. Between 1975 and 1979, under Pol Pot s leadership, the Khmer Rouge unleashed a
reign of terror that killed approximately a quarter of Cambodia s population through forced labor,
starvation, torture, and execution (Medvedev, 2010, p. 228). In fact with it

Failures Of Indira Gandhi
Week Ten: This weeks analysis on Indira Gandhi helped me unpack her successes and failures. Some
of the major failures that my group talked about was the forced sterilization, state of emergency,
religious divide, censorship and corruption. The mass forced sterilization was ultimate failure in my
eyes and as I talked about prior a major human rights violation. Interestingly, Indira Gandhi had no
gender policy during her reign. One would think that a women politician would want to address so
many of the problems that plague women on a daily basis. If I was a women in India during the time
where Indira Gandhi came to power, I would have been devastated that she was not interested in
improving women s rights. Indira also reinforced the religious divide within India, especially for the
Sikhs. She ended up exacerbating tensions in the region, which ultimately lead to her demise.
While she did have a lot of failures, this weeks class helped bring to light some of her successes as
well. Prior to this class I only really thought of her failures and even during class my group had a hard
time coming up with anything. I think her lack of credentials and her short sidedness made her ill
prepared to be a ruler. Throughout this class I began to admire Nehru and his leadership of India;
however, with Indira I felt myself being angry and disappointed with her ruling style.
Rajiv Gandhi s rise to power was even more abrupt than his mothers. He was even less qualified than

Dyslexia and life
For a long time, dyslexia has been causing many humans, especially children, to have learning
difficulties. The World Federation of Neurologists define dyslexia as, a disorder in children who,
despite conventional classroom experience, fail to attain the language skills of reading, writing, and
spelling commensurate with their intellectual abilities ( Dyslexia, 2013). Sometimes the letter m might
look like w, and the number 3 might look like 8; dyslexia basically makes it harder for people to
improve their language abilities. This is the behavior I wish to change because of the many negative
impacts it has on people s literacy skills and lives. Many dyslexic children have considerable
disadvantages while reading out loud or taking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students studying at Yale University have discovered that defects in a gene, DCDC2, are related to
problems in reading skills. The DCDC2 gene (when it is not supposed to) goes into contact with
KIAA0319, which is known as a dyslexic gene ( What is Dyslexia? 2013). None of these hypotheses
have been proven yet. Anyway, dyslexics can have difficulties understanding every time they begin to
read. The number of times dyslexia occurs or the time of the day it occurs cannot be told; whenever
those people are reading, the language complications can be seen. Two main theories have been
present regarding the reasons for why this behavior occurs, which are the cerebellar theory and the
magnocellular theory. We have proof that dyslexic people cannot process visual concepts (which
makes it harder for them to read or write). The magnocellular theory states that this occurs because
there is something wrong with the magnocellular pathways. Magnocellular pathways are part of the
central nervous system, and allow humans to process visual details from their surroundings. Scientists
believe that with these pathways not working, humans obtain dyslexia and are not able to remember
the presented information. On the other hand, the cerebellar theory says that people who have
problems in the cerebellum might become dyslexic. The cerebellum is basically responsible for human
motor control and language. Dysfunctions in the cerebellum can cause

Practice Of Trade After The World War I Essay
.1 Practice of trade before GATT
The history of GATT discussions and the present WTO are the birth right of commitments that the
countries have voluntarily agreed with each other. To appreciate the foundation of the present
blueprint of import protection across WTO member countries in addition to products and industries
within those countries, it is important to turn to the past. Western Europe after the World War I was
caught up with economic instability and disparity of the economic recovery following the World War
II was more evident in the context of international trade relations. Economic reconstruction after the
World War I was deficient in institutional machinery to make possible the reduction of trade barriers
that has arisen during the war and had become well established thereafter. The European countries had
faced political weaknesses and it was reflected in trade policies which was evident with the proposal
of equality of trade conditions in draft League of Nations was discarded in favour of a the provision
for the equitable treatment. The World Economic Conference held in 1927 found it indispensible to
call upon the governments to do away with maritime controls on trade, which incorporated, licensing
requirements, import quotas and foreign exchange controls. After over a decade of its formation, the
League of Nations had nevertheless had yet to sponsor any negotiations on liberalizing world trade

Economies of Scale
The largest single driving force behind mergers and acquisitions is probably economies of scale.
Economies of scale means that if you have a large company, you can leverage your suppliers. This is a
very powerful capability, and exercising it can be a strategic move for a company s operations. You
can save a tremendous amount of money on services such as health insurance we all know that health
insurance is extraordinarily expensive and getting more so every day. I know about the strategic
benefits of economies of scale from my personal experience of working as a consultant in a small
merger and acquisition in 2006 in which two failing private schools joined together to become one
successful entity. One of the major contributing factors for the success of this merger was that the
combined organization had more people who were buying health insurance; as a result, the health
insurance company substantially dropped their premiums because the risk was being spread across
more people. Large companies can also buy basic supplies such as paper, pencils, and paperclips less
expensively from suppliers when they buy in larger quantities. They simply get a

It shows this power by competitive pricing in tough markets. For example, in Europe 2013 there were
tough times for major companies like Danone to meet shareholder standards. But Nestle stated in an
article featured by Reuter competitive pricing helped to lift sales growth in spite of tough conditions in
emerging markets and Europe (Reuter). The ability to play with their price gave them the upper hand
as well as reevaluating investments within the company. The Chef Executive Paul Bulcke said
Investing in its strongest brands while divesting underperforming businesses, improving capital
allocation and structural efficiency should help to drive growth and preserve margins (Reuter). It
ultimately helped because they ended the quarter with a slight increase in sales across the board while
competitors were not so lucky. Ultimately when a product is profitable the price rises and when a
product is no doing as well the price will drop. Nestle seems to always sell at an average price, never
too high or too low from its nearest competitor in its prospective market. For lower income families in
emerging markets Nestle also has a strategy called PPP or also known as Poplar position products.

The Urbanization Of China s Urbanization
As we all know, with the enhancement of the world, the amount of cities in the world are augmenting
rapidly. For instance, when the People s Republic of China was established, most areas of China were
rural areas. However, when China has sufficient funds to program, we are definitely witnessing the
urbanization of China. China not only has plenty of advanced facilities in downtown, but it also is
feasting conveniences simultaneously that the urbanization is generating. This paper will explore some
aspects about the urbanization of China, and how economical force influence the urbanization. In
addition, the paper will analyze the relation between health of people and the urbanization. What is
more, the paper will also discuss the how the urbanization impact the population distribution in urban

all, the economical force is an assignable factor. There is no doubt that the economic base determines
the superstructures, law, as a means of superstructure, serves for the economy. Economical force is

Cause Of Mass Shootings
As most people already know in this year alone two of the biggest mass shootings in the United States
history. The two shootings that are explained are the shooting in Las Vegas, which killed 58 and
wounded 515 and the shooting in Texas which killed 26 and injured 20. You can also look at the
Orlando Florida shooting last year which killed 49 and had 58 wounded (Linnane). Shootings in
America have become more and more frequent, and it seems to some people that nowhere is safe. The
examples given were at a concert, a bar and a church. It seems that no matter where you go there is
now a risk of your life. Just imagine being in the shoes of someone who was in the Vegas attack.
Thinking that they will have a fun time when all of a sudden you see someone next to you drop dead
because someone has started to open fire. Everyone is in a panic trying to get to cover. You witness
people praying that they won t get shot as everyone piles up. How did this occur? Why are these
shootings becoming so common? Why do these horrible situations keep on occurring? Well, due to the
amount of guns in America, the lack of Mental Health Care, and the ease of obtaining a weapon, mass
shootings are increasing with more lives being lost.
It seems that one major reason for the mass shootings is the astronomical number of guns in America.

Personal Narrative Essay About Being In Sea Water
Noah was born on January 20, 2006. He was a few weeks early, and weighed in at only 5 lbs., 4 oz.
He showed early on what a fighter he is. He is my hero C.A.F.
I married a fish.
Now don t think I am insulting my dear spouse, implying that she looks like a slimy creature that
spends its life in the sea. I am simply trying to illustrate that C is all about being in the water at every
opportunity at her disposal.

Theory X, Theory Y
Theory X, Theory Y by Douglas McGregor is a motivation theory. Douglas McGregor is a social
psychologist and applied two sets of assumptions to the organizational structure called Theory X and
Theory Y. His theory is based on managerial views of human beings. In his book, The Human Side of
Enterprise, he outlined a new role for managers. He stated that managers should assist subordinates in
reaching their full potential, rather than commanding and controlling. Theory X is negative and
Theory Y can be stated as the opposite, positive. Douglas concluded that managers shaped their
behavior towards workers based on either the X or Y views.
Theory X presumes that average employees dislike work, are lazy, dislike responsibility, and must be

Theory X and Y call for managers to examine their assumptions about human nature and see how
these models lead to managerial practices. These assumptions will be reflected in management
attitudes toward employees, the kind and amount of participation they allow, and the outcomes they
expect. The strength of McGregor s theory is its significance. When McGregor formulated his theory,
companies competed on their ability to mass produce goods. Today, however, paying attention to the
human aspect is a requirement if any organization. Without a powerfully motivated, highly skilled,
self reliant human resource, organizations do not stand a chance to survive, much less compete.
McGregor s theory provides the solution to problems related to the human aspect of an organization.
Some of the weaknesses in McGregor s Theory X and Theory Y theory are that there is only so much
money that can be offered as motivation and only so much control that can be applied. People change
and so do motivators. McGregor states that a satisfied need no longer motivates. This theory has no
evidence to support Theory X or Theory Y. There s no validity in the assumption that managers who
modify their actions or behaviors will lead to more motivated workers (textbook citation p177). It is
part of the manager s job to exercise control and influence, and there are situations in which this

Dealing With Predatory Home Mortgages
It is no secret that tens of millions of homeowners got into trouble with predatory home mortgages.
Tens of millions of them have MERS originated Mortgages. If you asked the average mortgagor on
the street if they knew what a MERS originated Mortgage was, they couldn t tell you. They don t
know because they weren t told at closing that the funds they were receiving to buy their (generally
over appraised) home may NOT have come from the source named on their Mortgage or Deed of
Trust. Instead, the MERS® System was used because the borrowers loans were securitized. This
system was created specifically for that purpose (to track the sale and transfer of loans electronically,
in a MERSCORP owned database, with no regulatory oversight). You can t believe everything you
read either. Due diligence is required here.
I do not see either the federal or state governments coming out and educating homeowners on the
subject of MERS originated mortgages and securitization. Nope. People didn t start finding out about
securitization until 2009, just after the foreclosure mess was revealed in the media. Then there was the
bailout. People didn t understand that either. People didn t understand that the banks made some $53
trillion in credit default swap bets. In 2009, even most attorneys looking at the bigger picture for the
first time didn t know what credit default swaps were. Only the learned on Wall Street knew what they
were and how much money was made.

Analysis Of The Book The Night By F. Scott Fitzgerald
God, you do not know how happy I am to go home! Oh I should probably introduce myself. Hello I

Don Quixote Essay
Don Quixote is a classic novel although now a days many may not be entirely familiar with it. The
story of Don Quixote is filled with legendary actions that have survived our native tough. The phrase
and labels that tell the title come from someone deeply impractical. Don Quixote at the age of fifty has
not quite had what one would call a wild life, so far. He has never been married and still lives at home.
He has however found his calling in life, the profession of knighthood: he was spurred on by the
conviction that the world needed his immediate presence... (Book 1, Part 2). So the tales begin.

Dulcinea del Toboso who was also known as Aldonza Lorenzo, is Don Quixote s lady love, his

Then comes Lady Zoraida who travels with the Captain. French pirates had stripped her of her

wife of the Captain.
Dorothea is a beautiful traveler who decides to help the barber and the curate, only if they will help

his homosexuality. A few days ago, Ukraine State authorities convicted our client, in absentia, for
engaging in homosexual activities. As per your email of October 28, 2016, you have asked me to
research on the possible impact of the above mentioned conviction on our client s immigration and
refugee application in Canada. You have specifically asked me to address the following two questions:
Issues: 1. Will the conviction of our client in Ukraine, render him ineligible to make a refugee claim in
Canada? 2. Can the conviction for being a homosexual in Ukraine be used in any way to support our
client s refugee application in Canada? Short Answer: 1. No, the conviction for being a homosexual in
Ukraine does not render our client ineligible for refugee claim in Canada. 2. Yes, the conviction for
being a homosexual in Ukraine can be used to support our client s refugee claim in Canada.
Discussion: 1. Conviction for being a homosexual in Ukraine does not render our client ineligible for
refugee claim in Canada A criminal conviction for being a homosexual in Ukraine will not render our
client ineligible to make a refugee claim in Canada since homosexuality is not a criminal offense in
Canada. A determination of convention refugee status is made by an immigration officer or tribunal,

The Past And Future
Interrogative Suggestibility: Remolding the Past to Shape the Future In the court of law, a confession
is both a white knight for the prosecution and a nail in the coffin for the defense. These confessions
validity often go unquestioned, and, once their statement has been penned, the accused s fate is usually
sealed before they enter the courtroom. Confessions are often generated through the interrogation
process, and recent research has shown that law enforcement officials have the ability to alter and
even plant a memory in a subject s mind through interrogative suggestibility, which is defined as the
extent to which, within a closed social interaction, people come to accept messages communicated

One of the most popular and effective of these approaches is the supplementation of false information
into a scenario that the person being questioned was a part of (Wade, Green, and Nash 2010). If a
person witnessed an event and is forced to recollect said event, they will likely only remember the key
details. However, when asked to recollect on the finer aspect of the event, people will create false
memories in order to fill the gap (Gerrie, Belcher, and Garry 2006). This is evident by a recent
memory test in which subjects confidently but falsely remembered 17% of unseen information from
[an] event that they were shown multiple times and asked to recollect on it (Gerrie, Belcher, and Gary
2006 p. 689). Because it is evident that people will form their own memories regarding supplementary
information about an event they experienced, it is no stretch of the imagination that this fact can be
abused in order to form memories that suit someone else s narrative.
An accepted explanation for the induction of false memories is taken from a popular theory known as
the Fuzzy Trace Theory of FTT (Porter and Baker 2015). This theory suggests that there are two types
of memories processes: verbatim, which traces the exact aspects of an event, and gist traces, which
follow the semantics or the connotative elements. These suggestive techniques can be so effective that

development drivers. In order to overcome the limitations of the current briefing approaches, the
Dynamic Brief Development (DBD) concept was developed. This concept supports and encourages
brief development throughout the project life cycle as an approach to achieve client satisfaction and

Permitting brief development to take place without establishing the procedures that control its

Because brief development can add value or risk to the project or could add both, the well established
methodologies of Value Management (VM) and Risk Management

Athenian Democracy Dbq Essay
During the Golden Age in Greece, many things changed. Things that changed were the diversity of
political views and the social doings of the Athenians and the organization of the Athenians economy.
With the Golden Age, many groups worked together that wouldn t normally interact. The biggest
example of that is the relationship between Athenians and their democracy.
The first example of the relationship between the Athenians and their democracy during the golden
age was the diversity of political views that the Athenians followed. Too start in document 3 written
by Isocrates an Athenian political statesman, orator, and writer and made in the year 346 BCE and the
point they are trying to get across is that back then they did not have a political system/government
which in turn made the people do whatever they wanted which was bad. Then in document 4 written
by Aeschines an Athenian political statesmen, orator, and writer, and made in the year 330 BCE. The
author s point of view from this document is that how the three forms of government, autocracy,
oligarchy, and democracy work and the principles of them are. Also in document 5 written by
Thucydides an Athenian warrior, statesmen, and historian wrote in the year 410 BCE, what the author
is trying to say it all the reason why democracies are good and the outcomes of it. Finally, in document
9 written by Aristotle in Aristotle s Politics published in the year 326 BCE this document is about the
author s hatred towards tyranny.

How Did Eminem Influence People s Youth
Despite taste in music, age or nationality, everyone is bound to know the famous rapper, Eminem.
Many eagerly awaited his return to the music industry; while some hoped to never see his name on the

of the charts once again. Critics have claimed his lyrical content is inappropriate and effects the nation

encouragement in their lives.
Eminem was born Marshall Mathers III on October 17, 1972. His home life was extremely troubled.

Against all odds, he had succeeded far beyond what the world presumed possible. His personal life

prove his lyrics were not to always be taken literally.

The History Of Modern Corporate Collection
In the 1988, one year after Black Monday when Don Jones Industrial Average fell nearly 23 percent in
a single day, Art Auction the international art market journal published its annual edition with the
troubling headline: Is Corporate Collecting Dead? . Almost 20 years later, the financial crisis made
hundreds of bankers lose their jobs, and the image of people moving out their offices can still be
recalled even today, and the same question aroused again. The same questions may appear again and
again in the future, but as an essential part of world of art collecting, corporate collecting won t die in
the eyes of most people in the field.
The brief history of modern corporate collection
It is hard to chase back to the origin of the art patronage, since it is nearly as old as art itself, but the
shift from a model dating from the Renaissance, in which leaders of industry used the fruits of their
labor to purchase or commission superlative art either for their private residences or for the benefit of
the public (or of God and the Church), is surprisingly recent. So it s essential to isolate modern
corporate collecting from other great but older tradition such as hanging decorative pieces and
portraits of founders and other core members to embellish a boardroom or showcase the firm s
position or reputation.
Modern corporate collecting began in nineteenth century in the United States as a movement to
preserve the records, memorabilia, and products of a company.

Genesis 2 Vs Genesis
There are indeed two stories in Genesis on how we and the world came about. The first story starts at
Genesis 1:1 and go through Genesis 2:3; the second story picks up at Genesis 2:4 and goes through the
chapter ending at Genesis 2:25. In the first story, The Creation takes six days and man and woman are
created last after all the plants and animals are created. In the second story, The Creation focuses on
one day the sixth day, the man is created first, then all the plants and animals are created, and finally
woman is created.
Genesis 1:1 says, In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Later, in Genesis 2:4, it
seems that a second, different story of creation begins. These two stories actually describe the same
creation event. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first chapter of Genesis it presents the creation of man on the sixth day as the final point of
creation. Then, in the second chapter, the author gives a lot more detail regarding the creation of man.
People tend to claim contradictions between Genesis chapters 1 2. The first is in regard to plant life.
Genesis 1:11 records God creating vegetation on the third day. Genesis 2:5 states that prior to the
creation of man no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet
sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground.
So, which is it? Did God create vegetation on the third day before He created man (Genesis 1), or after
He created man (Genesis 2)? The Hebrew words for vegetation are different in the two passages.
Genesis 1:11 uses a term that refers to vegetation in general. Genesis 2:5 uses a more specific term
that refers to vegetation that requires agriculture, as in a person to tend to it, a gardener. The passages
do not contradict. Genesis 1:11 speaks of God creating vegetation, and Genesis 2:5 speaks of God not
causing farmable vegetation to grow until after He created man. It s easily misinterpreted in

Causes Of The British War Memorials
1. The British war memorials allowed many people to openly grieve and remember the thousands of
soldiers who lost their lives. It allowed millions of people to come to terms with the loss, isolate it,
and establish its limits. War memorials became the place people grieved individually or as a group. 2.
The First World War is what many have called total war, which means it was the first industrialized
war among industrialized powers. The war material that could be produced by those powers increased
by a factor of thousands with the weaponry and the projectiles that were fired at two sides. The 10
million that died in the First World War was by far the largest toll of deaths because of the enormous
weight of material that was turned into artillery. In 1914, this was the beginning of mass death. There
was no place to put the bodies (if they could be found) of so many; this created a situation that made it
impossible to literally mourn the dead. The notion of a ritual set of practices that had been in existence
for centuries collapsed completely during this traumatic time period. 3. The similarities of the Tombs
of the Unknown all represent fallen soldier(s). Most are guarded 24 hour a day. It wasn t until 1920
when the idea came about to honor the fallen with tombs and within a few short years all countries had
their own tombs developed for their fallen soldiers. The differences are some tombs are elaborate with

Persuasive Essay On To Kill A Mockingbird
Have you ever done something because everyone else was doing that thing? Have you ever bought
something because a friend or because everyone else has that thing? In To Kill a Mockingbird: The
Screenplay written by Horton Foote, Atticus Finch defends Tom Robinson an alleged rapist who was
an African American during the Great Depression. Everyone told Atticus what he was doing was
wrong, defending a black man during The Great Depression. Tom Robinson was an innocent man in
the Great Depression who s only case against him was that he was black and was seen near the scene
at the time when Mrs. Mayella was beaten. He was being unfairly tried and represented in the court
just because he was an African American during an extremely racist time in the South. Atticus saw it
different than everyone else, he was the only one willing to believe Tom Robinson when everyone else

everyone else is telling you are wrong. Atticus Finch Believed in Tom Robinson when no one else did.
Do what is right when everyone is telling you are wrong. When Atticus is defending people, he will do
whatever it takes to help that person out even if they can t afford his services. When Mr.Cunningham
was needing Atticus s services and couldn t afford them, Atticus came up with a way that would help

Determinism And The Part It Plays With Free Will
Determinism is an idea that states that everything can be explained because it has an adequate reason
for being the way it is rather than a different way, meaning that the world has natural laws and
everything happens for a reason. This is important as many philosophers have argued between the
extent of determinism and the part it plays with free will, taking the claim that if our behavior is
governed by natural causes, we are not morally free. Everything will happen due to reasons that have
built upon themselves and bringing forth an effect, which then brings about more causes. This is
taking the case of hard determinism. This issue is very significant when talking about ethics, as blame
and morality surround free will, and if we do not have free will can we be held responsible for our
actions? Before we blame a person we must decide if they could have refrained from what they did or
if it was inevitable due to causal determinism. I believe that free will and fatalistic/ determinism both
have an effect on our human lives and the way we make our choices, contributing to our moral
freedom.
Determinism does not necessarily mean we make no choices; simply put, it is that we make our own
choices and decisions and they are part of the causal process whereby we create further effects in the
world, leading to inevitable causes. Leucippus believed that nothing occurs randomly; everything has
a specific reason. An argument for the claim is that determinism deprives us of the power

and slightly contended. She is running one of her hands through her hair, humming a soft
tune. She stares at her father s portrait for a moment, and moves towards the living room.
The room is lavishly furnished, with the curtains drawn wide. Hedda sits on the sofa and
reads, footsteps are heard coming from the hallway. Hedda turns her head expectantly)
(Eilert Lovborg enters)

I did not expect to see you here so soon!
Hedda: Well look at your audacity! Nothing can stop me from coming back to my home,
where I am true to myself and I finally feel like I have some purpose in life. At least I am not

Lovborg: Nothing Hedda? (Looking towards her now flat belly) Don t you think that you
decision was a little too rash?
Hedda: It may seem rash to you. But you will never understand Eilert. The single thought of
raising that child... It brought back eerie memories of my mother. I feel as if my entire life
was a reflection of hers; especially from the moment I got married. The pregnancy just made
it too real for me to handle.
Lovborg: Your mother Hedda? You have never told me much about her...
Hedda: (calmly) Ah, what do you know about my mother eilert? In fact, what does anyone
even know about her? I have always been known as General Gabler s daughter. My mother

She had dreams Eilert; and she was very capable of achieving them too. However, once she
got married, everything changed. Everything. As each day passed by, her spirit began to

Human Corruption depicts the abandoning of societal norms and values for an unfair advantage or for various other reasons including greed for wealth. Clearly, the person engaging in such activities is driven by an ulterior motive or a vested interest through which he/she hopes to gain and take advantage of their power against society with disregard to the rules and regulations governing such behaviour. This central idea is explored vastly in Prayer before Birth , War Photographer , Mother in A Refugee Camp and the three other poems through the use of elements such as stylistic features, language techniques and form and structure. Sibilance is employed here to convey the pathos and agony of the victims in the war situation, which has brought terrifying memories into the mind of the photographer s memory. Pathos is also used in the poem Aunt Jennifer s Tigers in the line her terrified hands will lie, still ringed with the ordeals she was mastered by as they convey the Aunt s acceptance to the authority of the husband. The death of her husband wasn t enough to heal the wounds from his torture and atrocities, which haunted her and left her scarred for life. The war photographer remembers vaguely the woman whose permission he sought without words to do what someone must in order to take a picture of her dead husband so that he can bring the deathly image back home for work purposes. He is deeply saddened by this because the everyday society in which he is living show apathy to the other realm where people suffer and die pointlessly in the war fields. He realizes the pain he inflicts towards himself and the other suffering people due to the fact that he is making a living out of capturing images of people s misery. The fact that the main person remains anonymous throughout the poem, suggests that anyone in this world, even you and I, could be also living a double life. • 7. Definition Essay On Patriarchy Guess What? You re a Feminist! Feminism is not a radical movement or a fringe movement or an embarrassment or a fraud. Feminism is simple. The patriarchy does exist. To identify as a feminist is to acknowledge that women are people, and, as such, women deserve the same social, economic, and political rights and opportunities as other styles of people (i.e., men people). To be a feminist is also to acknowledge that the world is not, currently, a fair and just and safe place for women to exist. Because it is not. Obviously (see: everything ever). To deny these things makes you, at worst, a bad person who hates women, including but not limited to: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez, your mother, Jennifer Lopez s mother, Jennifer Garner s Aunt Marcy, Michelle Obama, Ellen DeGeneres, Cher, Julie Andrews, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kraken Kardashian, Karphone Kardashian, Kickball Kardashian, Kornkob Kardashian, and THE VIRGIN FUCKING MARY. At best, it makes you a complacent idiot. ONE MORE TIME: If you are not a feminist (or something blamelessly ignorant, like a baby or a ferret or a college freshman), then you are a bad person. • 8. Irving Independent School District V. Tatro Case Study Special education programs and services are available in many school and are fast growing. In a high school, a principal named Debbie Young has been presented with a situation with the parents of a special education student. Mrs. Young has been a special education teacher and assistant principal in a progressive and affluent school district in the South. Mrs. Young was approached by the parents of Jonathan a severely disabled tenth grader whose parents want him to attend one of the schools in the district. He is profoundly mentally disabled, has spastic quadriplegia, and has a seizure disorder. Mrs. Young refuses his parent s request because of the huge expenses and the school is not an appropriate place for Jonathan. Board of Education v. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Garrett F. (1999), is a case presented to argue that Debbie Young s decision to refuse Jonathan to attend one of the schools in the district is wrong. In the case of Cedar Rapids Independent School District v. Garrett F. (1999), Garrett is a student who is quadriplegic and is ventilator dependent, therefore, he requires an individual nearby to attend to certain physical needs while he is in school. His parents provided nursing services at school until he entered fifth grade. They then requested that the school district to provide the services. The school district declined. The parents filed a suit against the school district. In the end, the court agreed with the parents. It was granted that nursing services were not related services, instead excluded medical services. • 11. The Satirical Transformation Of Gulliver Essay The Satirical Transformation of Gulliver Swift s Gulliver s Travels is difficult to come to terms with for a multitude of reasons. The most immediate problem is that of genre. How may Gulliver s Travels be categorized? It s a fiction; it s written in prose; it s a children s tale; it s a comedy; it s a tragedy; however, to say this is to say very little. Clearly it s satirical, but that is not to say it s a satire. Arther E. Case, for example, thinks that it s not a satire: it would be more accurate and more illuminating to call it a politico sociological treatise much of which is couched in the medium of satire (Four Essays on Gulliver s Travels p. 105). In response to Case s classification, I offer a question: what s the purpose of formal specification if there are numerous imprecise labels to which this work may conform? Swift s masterpiece should be entitled to its own donnée; thus, for the sake of this essay, I will shy from all comprehensive forms of categorization. Instead, I ll consider Gulliver s Travels on its own terms, sui generis, to interpret its unique presuppositions, many of which are expressed satirically. By allowing Gulliver, an uncritical lover of man, to become a hypercritical hater of man, Swift has it both ways: Gulliver functions as both the object and instrument of satire (Four Essays on Gulliver s Travels 106). Perhaps one could reduce Gulliver s voyage to the country of the Houyhnhnms by describing it as a carefully devised fable; however, this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Cambodia s Dominant Textiles Today Cambodia is a country that has endured an abundance of war and turmoil, however over recent decades the country has slowly recovered their rich culture and traditions that they lost during the Vietnam War. The country today, still suffers from the loss they have endured within the structure of their culture and society. In fact, Cambodia s dominant textiles today are an affect of the lost traditions that have faded during the Vietnam War. Though warfare has torn a hole into their history taking valuable traditions away from the country, Cambodia has adapted their way of dress and textiles slowly to the modern world. Located in Southeast Asia bordered by Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam, Cambodia has a tropical warm climate that is present year round. This accounts for the light daily attire as well as temple attire that are worn throughout the country. Buddhism is practiced by 96.4 percent of Cambodians. The vast majority of these belong to the Theravada school of Buddhism, which is also the official state religion (Colgan, A. n.d. The People section, para. 3). The country s predominantly Buddhism following have a profound impact on the art and textiles that have remained the same throughout the turmoil of the Vietnam War. Between 1975 and 1979, under Pol Pot s leadership, the Khmer Rouge unleashed a reign of terror that killed approximately a quarter of Cambodia s population through forced labor, starvation, torture, and execution (Medvedev, 2010, p. 228). • 13. Failures Of Indira Gandhi Week Ten: This weeks analysis on Indira Gandhi helped me unpack her successes and failures. Some of the major failures that my group talked about was the forced sterilization, state of emergency, religious divide, censorship and corruption. The mass forced sterilization was ultimate failure in my eyes and as I talked about prior a major human rights violation. Interestingly, Indira Gandhi had no gender policy during her reign. One would think that a women politician would want to address so many of the problems that plague women on a daily basis. If I was a women in India during the time where Indira Gandhi came to power, I would have been devastated that she was not interested in improving women s rights. Indira also reinforced the religious divide within India, especially for the Sikhs. She ended up exacerbating tensions in the region, which ultimately lead to her demise. While she did have a lot of failures, this weeks class helped bring to light some of her successes as well. Prior to this class I only really thought of her failures and even during class my group had a hard time coming up with anything. I think her lack of credentials and her short sidedness made her ill prepared to be a ruler. The World Federation of Neurologists define dyslexia as, a disorder in children who, despite conventional classroom experience, fail to attain the language skills of reading, writing, and spelling commensurate with their intellectual abilities ( Dyslexia, 2013). Sometimes the letter m might look like w, and the number 3 might look like 8; dyslexia basically makes it harder for people to improve their language abilities. Students studying at Yale University have discovered that defects in a gene, DCDC2, are related to problems in reading skills. The DCDC2 gene (when it is not supposed to) goes into contact with KIAA0319, which is known as a dyslexic gene ( What is Dyslexia? 2013). None of these hypotheses have been proven yet. Anyway, dyslexics can have difficulties understanding every time they begin to read. The number of times dyslexia occurs or the time of the day it occurs cannot be told; whenever those people are reading, the language complications can be seen. Two main theories have been present regarding the reasons for why this behavior occurs, which are the cerebellar theory and the magnocellular theory. We have proof that dyslexic people cannot process visual concepts (which makes it harder for them to read or write). The magnocellular theory states that this occurs because there is something wrong with the magnocellular pathways. Magnocellular pathways are part of the central nervous system, and allow humans to process visual details from their surroundings. Scientists believe that with these pathways not working, humans obtain dyslexia and are not able to remember the presented information. On the other hand, the cerebellar theory says that people who have problems in the cerebellum might become dyslexic. The cerebellum is basically responsible for human motor control and language. You can also look at the Orlando Florida shooting last year which killed 49 and had 58 wounded (Linnane). Douglas McGregor is a social psychologist and applied two sets of assumptions to the organizational structure called Theory X and Theory Y. His theory is based on managerial views of human beings. He stated that managers should assist subordinates in reaching their full potential, rather than commanding and controlling. Theory X is negative and Theory Y can be stated as the opposite, positive. Theory X and Y call for managers to examine their assumptions about human nature and see how these models lead to managerial practices. These assumptions will be reflected in management attitudes toward employees, the kind and amount of participation they allow, and the outcomes they expect. The strength of McGregor s theory is its significance. When McGregor formulated his theory, companies competed on their ability to mass produce goods. Today, however, paying attention to the human aspect is a requirement if any organization. Without a powerfully motivated, highly skilled, self reliant human resource, organizations do not stand a chance to survive, much less compete. McGregor s theory provides the solution to problems related to the human aspect of an organization. Some of the weaknesses in McGregor s Theory X and Theory Y theory are that there is only so much money that can be offered as motivation and only so much control that can be applied. This is evident by a recent memory test in which subjects confidently but falsely remembered 17% of unseen information from [an] event that they were shown multiple times and asked to recollect on it (Gerrie, Belcher, and Gary 2006 p. 689). Because it is evident that people will form their own memories regarding supplementary information about an event they experienced, it is no stretch of the imagination that this fact can be abused in order to form memories that suit someone else s narrative. An accepted explanation for the induction of false memories is taken from a popular theory known as the Fuzzy Trace Theory of FTT (Porter and Baker 2015). This theory suggests that there are two types of memories processes: verbatim, which traces the exact aspects of an event, and gist traces, which follow the semantics or the connotative elements. These suggestive techniques can be so effective that in some cases ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Helpwriting.net This is attributed to the limitations of the current briefing approaches, which confine the development of the 23 A.A.E. Othman project brief to a certain stage. This perspective hinders the interaction between the client and the designer and impedes exploiting value opportunities and managing risk threats caused by brief development drivers. In order to overcome the limitations of the current briefing approaches, the Dynamic Brief Development (DBD) concept was developed. This concept supports and encourages brief development throughout the project life cycle as an approach to achieve client satisfaction and respond in an innovative manner to the brief development drivers, improve the briefing process, and to manage change orders effectively [6]. Permitting brief development to take place without establishing the procedures that control its development leaves the project brief uncontrolled and jeopardise achieving client s satisfaction. Because brief development can add value or risk to the project or could add both, the well established methodologies of Value Management (VM) and Risk Management (RM) are the most appropriate tools to manage dynamic brief development. Since better value could not be achieved unless associated risks have been managed, both methodologies ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Things that changed were the diversity of political views and the social doings of the Athenians and the organization of the Athenians economy. • 32. How Did Eminem Influence People s Youth Despite taste in music, age or nationality, everyone is bound to know the famous rapper, Eminem. Many eagerly awaited his return to the music industry; while some hoped to never see his name on the charts again. After a long break from the industry, Eminem made his return in 2010, rising to the top of the charts once again. Critics have claimed his lyrical content is inappropriate and effects the nation s youth negatively, but his fans argue that he and his 2010 return have been a source of inspiration and encouragement in their lives. Critics claimed he is corrupting the minds of the youth. Even still his talent was undeniable within the rap community. His ability write, rhyme and flow on the microphone continued to keep the attention of many. Against all odds, he had succeeded far beyond what the world presumed possible. His personal life was cast into the limelight, as it was the center of most of his music. Marshall touched on topics many would never rap about. He created an alter ego for himself, known as Slim Shady. He makes reference to the fast changes in many of his songs, Ya know, I just don t get it, last year I was nobody, now I am selling records. (Eminem). The criticism only gave him more to write about, most of the time exaggerating what critics had to say about him. Parents claimed he promoted and provoked violence in his songs, causing those that listened to his music to become violent. Gay activist protested against him at the 2001 Music Awards, claiming he was homophobic his lyrics were hateful (Eminem s Grammy Award Outrage, 2001). He had Elton John perform live with him at the show in order to prove his lyrics were not to always be taken literally. • 33. The History Of Modern Corporate Collection In the 1988, one year after Black Monday when Don Jones Industrial Average fell nearly 23 percent in a single day, Art Auction the international art market journal published its annual edition with the troubling headline: Is Corporate Collecting Dead? . Almost 20 years later, the financial crisis made hundreds of bankers lose their jobs, and the image of people moving out their offices can still be recalled even today, and the same question aroused again. The same questions may appear again and again in the future, but as an essential part of world of art collecting, corporate collecting won t die in the eyes of most people in the field. The brief history of modern corporate collection It is hard to chase back to the origin of the art patronage, since it is nearly as old as art itself, but the shift from a model dating from the Renaissance, in which leaders of industry used the fruits of their labor to purchase or commission superlative art either for their private residences or for the benefit of the public (or of God and the Church), is surprisingly recent. So it s essential to isolate modern corporate collecting from other great but older tradition such as hanging decorative pieces and portraits of founders and other core members to embellish a boardroom or showcase the firm s position or reputation. Modern corporate collecting began in nineteenth century in the United States as a movement to preserve the records, memorabilia, and products of a company. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Genesis 2 Vs Genesis There are indeed two stories in Genesis on how we and the world came about. The first story starts at Genesis 1:1 and go through Genesis 2:3; the second story picks up at Genesis 2:4 and goes through the chapter ending at Genesis 2:25. In the first story, The Creation takes six days and man and woman are created last after all the plants and animals are created. In the second story, The Creation focuses on one day the sixth day, the man is created first, then all the plants and animals are created, and finally woman is created. Genesis 1:1 says, In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Later, in Genesis 2:4, it seems that a second, different story of creation begins. These two stories actually describe the same creation event. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the first chapter of Genesis it presents the creation of man on the sixth day as the final point of creation. Then, in the second chapter, the author gives a lot more detail regarding the creation of man. People tend to claim contradictions between Genesis chapters 1 2. The first is in regard to plant life. Genesis 1:11 records God creating vegetation on the third day. Genesis 2:5 states that prior to the creation of man no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground. So, which is it? Did God create vegetation on the third day before He created man (Genesis 1), or after He created man (Genesis 2)? The Hebrew words for vegetation are different in the two passages. Genesis 1:11 uses a term that refers to vegetation in general. Genesis 2:5 uses a more specific term that refers to vegetation that requires agriculture, as in a person to tend to it, a gardener. The passages do not contradict. Genesis 1:11 speaks of God creating vegetation, and Genesis 2:5 speaks of God not causing farmable vegetation to grow until after He created man. • 36. Causes Of The British War Memorials 1. The British war memorials allowed many people to openly grieve and remember the thousands of soldiers who lost their lives. It allowed millions of people to come to terms with the loss, isolate it, and establish its limits. War memorials became the place people grieved individually or as a group. 2. The First World War is what many have called total war, which means it was the first industrialized war among industrialized powers. The war material that could be produced by those powers increased by a factor of thousands with the weaponry and the projectiles that were fired at two sides. The 10 million that died in the First World War was by far the largest toll of deaths because of the enormous weight of material that was turned into artillery. In 1914, this was the beginning of mass death. There was no place to put the bodies (if they could be found) of so many; this created a situation that made it impossible to literally mourn the dead. The notion of a ritual set of practices that had been in existence for centuries collapsed completely during this traumatic time period. 3. The similarities of the Tombs of the Unknown all represent fallen soldier(s). Most are guarded 24 hour a day. It wasn t until 1920 when the idea came about to honor the fallen with tombs and within a few short years all countries had their own tombs developed for their fallen soldiers. • 37. Persuasive Essay On To Kill A Mockingbird Have you ever done something because everyone else was doing that thing? Have you ever bought something because a friend or because everyone else has that thing? In To Kill a Mockingbird: The Screenplay written by Horton Foote, Atticus Finch defends Tom Robinson an alleged rapist who was an African American during the Great Depression. Everyone told Atticus what he was doing was wrong, defending a black man during The Great Depression. Tom Robinson was an innocent man in the Great Depression who s only case against him was that he was black and was seen near the scene at the time when Mrs. Mayella was beaten. He was being unfairly tried and represented in the court just because he was an African American during an extremely racist time in the South. Atticus saw it different than everyone else, he was the only one willing to believe Tom Robinson when everyone else was saying he was wrong because he was a black man. Sometimes doing the right thing happens when everyone else is telling you are wrong. Atticus Finch Believed in Tom Robinson when no one else did. Do what is right when everyone is telling you are wrong. When Atticus is defending people, he will do whatever it takes to help that person out even if they can t afford his services. When Mr.Cunningham was needing Atticus s services and couldn t afford them, Atticus came up with a way that would help him. Mr.Cunningham brought hickory nuts to Atticus in order to pay off a legal debt. No one would help Mr.Cunningham, but Atticus saw that he was a good man and was worth fighting for him even though he could not pay Atticus. He was the only one willing to help the poor in a time when almost no one had money. He is paying me for some legal work I did for him... That s the only way he can ... he has no money (Foote page 7).Atticus understood that it was tough times for most people and that the farmers had no money so he came up with a way for Mr. Cunningham to pay for his legal entailments when no else would help Mr.Cunningham. • 38. Determinism And The Part It Plays With Free Will Determinism is an idea that states that everything can be explained because it has an adequate reason for being the way it is rather than a different way, meaning that the world has natural laws and everything happens for a reason. This is important as many philosophers have argued between the extent of determinism and the part it plays with free will, taking the claim that if our behavior is governed by natural causes, we are not morally free. Everything will happen due to reasons that have built upon themselves and bringing forth an effect, which then brings about more causes. This is taking the case of hard determinism. This issue is very significant when talking about ethics, as blame and morality surround free will, and if we do not have free will can we be held responsible for our actions? Before we blame a person we must decide if they could have refrained from what they did or if it was inevitable due to causal determinism. I believe that free will and fatalistic/ determinism both have an effect on our human lives and the way we make our choices, contributing to our moral freedom. Determinism does not necessarily mean we make no choices; simply put, it is that we make our own choices and decisions and they are part of the causal process whereby we create further effects in the world, leading to inevitable causes. Leucippus believed that nothing occurs randomly; everything has a specific reason. An argument for the claim is that determinism deprives us of the power ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
