Sdb Research Paper
What is Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB)? Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB) is a common medical
disorder that is increasingly recognized in children almost 30 million American children are living
with SDB. SDB can range from frequent loud snoring to Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) a condition
involving repeated episodes of partial or complete blockage of the airway during sleep. When a child s
breathing is disrupted during sleep, their growing bodies are deprived of the one thing they need most
oxygen. In response, some children become restless, irritable, and hyperactive, while others
experience drowsiness, poor scholastic performance, bedwetting, chronic allergies, or any
combination of the above. Additional Benefits for children Ortho Tain® ... Show more content on

It is designed to feel like a pacifier that helps to familiarize the child with the process of wearing a
device in their mouth every night. This initial device is typically worn anywhere from one to four
months before moving on to the next step. Daytime wear and extended treatment time could be
recommended depending on the child s specific habits and their severity. Step 2: Ortho Tain® for Kids
During the second phase, a device specifically sized for each child is also worn at night. It works to
gently guide the incoming permanent teeth into the appropriate places, correct jaw relations, and
expand the arches to make room for the larger incoming adult teeth. This helps to eliminate and
prevent any improper dentition. This device is worn for only about two to five months before the final
phase of treatment begins. Step 3: Ortho Tain® for Kids Once the child has at least four permanent
teeth in the mouth, the third and final treatment begins with a device used to accommodate the
incoming adult teeth. This is a vital stage in our treatment process because as the adult teeth are
forming, the gum tissue fibers are beginning to anchor these teeth in the mouth. When using this third
phase of treatment, the Perfect Start System ensures the adult teeth erupt into their proper position and
the natural fiber bundles are able to form, therefore locking them into the correct alignment. This
method works to prevent any new erupting

Implementation Of Total Quality Management (TQM)
Implementation Of Total Quality Management ( TQM)
Introduction
The total quality management or TQM is the particular management approach which was originated in
the year 1950. It became popular in the early 1980s and from then on implemented in various ways in
different firms. It is the explanation of the culture and attitude of the organization that provides the
customer satisfaction with the products and the services. The culture will need quality in every aspects
of the operation of the company. The processes should be done in the right method by eliminating any
waste during the operations.
Basic Concept
The Total Quality Management ( TQM) can be defined as the holistic approach for the long term
success which can be visible in the ongoing development in every aspect of the organization process.
The overall transformation of the organization can go through various changes in different systems,
structures, practices and the attitudes.
Primary Elements Of TQM

In 1983, Kanter has described this process as different building blocks where effective organizational
changes are present. The traditional processes can be replaced with the modern strategic decisions.
When the entrepreneurs avoid the general ways of resolving a problem, then the traditional activities
of the lower level of the organization can be easily departed. A crisis may sometimes create a sense of
urgency in the employees mind and can force them to act immediately. In case of TQM , the crisis can
act as threat or various demands from the consumers for improving the quality of the services. The
leaders may interfere in the strategies after a crisis and can provide a new vision of the organization.
The leader must act as the prime mover in implementing the TQM

Valerian s Persecution
Valerian was a Roman emperor from the time of 253 260 A.D. At first he left the church be for the
most part. In the beginning of Valerian s reign, he tried to restore peace and security to the people
living in the empire including Christians. It wasn t until 257 A.D. that the persecution really started to
begin in the reign of Valerian. Christians were already been persecuted before Valerian s reign but the
persecution had slow down due to the fact that Gallus had little opportunity to succeed at it. From the
Bubonic plague to Persians breaking into Syria were a few of the situations that left Gallus with
limited opportunities to focus in persecuting the Church. That didn t mean in his reign there was no
persecution. In his reign, there was

Unemployment Rate Measurement Of Unemployment
Unemployment Rate Measurement The Labor force is composed by employment and unemployment.
According to the Economic fifth edition, the unemployment is when someone not currently at work
but who is available for work and who has actively looked for work during the previous month. There
are three types of unemployment: frictional, structural and cyclical unemployment. The
unemployment is one of the biggest problems that any society has to face it. The unemployment
reflects the status of the economy and amount of good and services stop producing and consuming.
That s why government pays close attention to the unemployment rate. The unemployment rate is

households over helping them to get more real number of people employed or unemployed. It gives an
estimate how many people are seeking for jobs. Unlike CES s survey, the person has to be 16 years
old or older. It depends on a situation of each individual person. The same person can be counted
twice falling into more than of the unemployment categories; frictional, structural, cyclical. For
example, this type of method falls in errors because people can lie about their situation. For example,
if a person says that he or she is looking for a job but it is not true will show false result. It is claiming
the unemployment benefits. Also, the situation of a person can vary from one month to another. The

Kurt Vonnegut Post Modernism Essay
Post modernism was commonly known in the late 20th century and is characterized by individualism,
identity, architectures, and the scientific revolution which is the source of knowledge. It is the way that
people think and look at the world today, post modernism is how it shapes the reality of things. A
person that was really known during the post modernism time was Kurt Vonnegut because of his
themes, and literary style during the post modernism time. The postmodern style was very different
from the modern style. Modern style was very flat and traditional. Postmodernism had a style of being
historical, using geometric shapes along the buildings, and very colorful. The idea from being

Nobody likes to have to depend on other people to do things for them, it shows the persons lack in
capability of doing something on their own. Being independent is determined by their way through
society and how they will act with the people around them. According to the Article of Reformed
Reflections Not everybody thinks the same way as someone else might think about a situation it is all
matter of opinion . Everybody has their own opinion about something, you don t have to agree or
disagree because it is a personal reference and nobody can argue with someone s personal reference to
try and change what they believe or think about the issue. Sometimes when you get caught up in being
an individual you might forget the world around you and might not realize the meaning of lifestyle.
According to a Christian faith they believe that Individualism is sinful . They might feel that
individualism is a sin because some people do not allow others to help them in the hardest part of their

The Capulin Volcano
The Capulin Volcano interestingly enough, is apart of what s known as the Raton Clayton volcanic
field (RCVF), a collected scattering of other volcano s that stretch well over 7,000 square miles.
Located in Northeastern New Mexico, the Capulin lies dormante, although some believe extinct, since
it s last volcanic activity more than 60,000 years ago. Capulin underwent a rather large eruption that
formed its current 1000ft cinder cone shape, which gave way to a number of small lava flows and
cinder eruptions [that] paved over the mound, steepening it s slopes (NASA, 2016). The base was
inital made from the hot ash, cinder, and rock debris of the eruption, and the lava flows themselves
were basalt, deriving from the melting of the mantle (Sayre and Ort, 2011). Due to ... Show more

Taking a look back to the past, although the history of each place are different, there is a common trait
that both area s shared around the same time. It is apparrent that not only was Colorado and the area of
Dinosaur Ridge submerged in water at the time of the Cretaceous period, but so was New Mexico and
the region that would be the Capulin Volcano. The rise in sea level covered much of the west and
connected one ocean to another and similar to Colorado, the sea level in New Mexico receded and
decreased periodically. When it expanded and covered an area, dark colored, fine grained, and thin
bedded marine sediments were deposited, [and] when the seaway contracted and retreated, beach,
river and delta deposits built out and covered the marine deposits (Sayre and Ort, 2011). Towards the
end of the Cretaceous period, the sea level dropped and perminatly retreated, much like in Colorado.
At present both Capulin Volcano and Dinosaur Ridge are recongized as national monuments and
easily accessable to the public, and various geological scientists, students and

Analyzing The Strengths Of Qualitative And Quantitative...
Q methodology was first introduced by psychologist William Stephenson (1902 1989). Q
methodology combines the strengths of both qualitative and quantitative methods (Brown, 1996). The
method is one that studies subjectivity and can be used on various researches. Subjectivity can be
defined as a person s communication of his or her point of view and it is always stems from a person s
internal frame of reference (McKeown Thomas, 1988). An internal frame of reference can refer to the
personal viewpoint of the respondent; in this research, it is the viewpoint of several people for reasons
why project are delayed. This frame of reference has been established through the experience of
working on or being in other ways involved in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, this reference provides much more information than a yes, no question ever did (McKeown
Thomas 1988). Q methodology uses the concept of ranking as simplified in Table 4.2. By asking
multiple people from SHTC to rank the 40 statements, the prioritization of these criteria comes forth.
All statements are based on people s opinion on why project delay, yet the comparison with other
people s opinions and ranking the statements will bring about the real subjectivity (Brown, 1993).
4.1.2 The Q analysis process As the method revolves around the ranking of statements, the process
starts by defining these statements. This set of statements, also referred to as the Q sample, should
comprehensively represent the concourse: the sum of all things people say or think about the issue
being investigated. The concourse is most typically collected through interviews and focus group
discussions. In addition, sources such as publications, essays, or any other sources related to the issue
may be used. The collection of the concourse and the Q sample is described in the previous chapter.
What is in fact investigated is not just the concourse itself, but the inherent operant structure that
exists in the concourse or the Q sample (Dryzek, Clark, McKenzie, 1989). The Q sample often exists
of statements, however, it can be created from basically anything: from words to paintings or even
songs (Brown, 1996). With the Q sample, the respondents can participate in the

Reflection Paper On Regular Council Meeting
Regular City Council Meeting
I have always prided myself as a person who knows virtually everything that happens around my
community. It is common for humans to judge or misjudge what they do not know or understand. Too
often we are quick to criticize and lash after what other people say or do simply because we do not
understand it. This fact describes the character and attitude of many people especially when it comes
to politics and how a country is run right from the top to the bottom. The average people is generally
unconcerned with political affairs like how politicians spend their tax money. You only need to look at
the dismally low voter turn out to confirm this fact. This should to change and for me, this change
came on 26th October 2017, when I decided to attend The Tempe City Regular Council Meeting. I had
never attended such a meeting before. Part of the reason is perhaps owing to the attitude of most
people as I explained earlier but more particularly, I had not seen any local issue that moved me
enough to demand the necessity to have my voice heard or to be curious enough to want to find out
about the secrets of the operations of the local government. Generally, I knew that the decisions made
and policies developed by the city government affected my life directly or indirectly. However, to sit
and watch all the work and grind that goes to the formulation of these policies and decisions has made
me realize that democracy is not self driving.
The Chambers
After completing my classes for the day, I went directly to Tempe City Hall City Council Chambers
which is housed in the Harry E. Mitchell Government Center. As I got in two minutes before the
official starting time, the room was almost fully occupied but I was lucky to secure a seat at a position
where I could follow the proceedings comfortably. The chamber is divided into two seating areas one
for the Council Members and the other for the members of the public. The two areas face each other
and are separated in the middle by a corridor that connects to two main entrance/exit points. The area
accommodating the councilmembers is at a relatively elevated angle compared to the area where the
citizens sit to facilitate easy and effective engagement.

Rhetorical Analysis Of Martin Luther King
In paragraphs 12 14 King uses a combination of rhetorical strategies to argue the urgency for changing
current segregation laws. Kings selective use of imagery, parallel structure, and metaphors helps bring
out the emotions of the eight clergymen, making them feel sympathy and understand Martin Luther
King Jr.s point of view.
In paragraph 12,Martin Luther King Jr focuses on addressing the opposition s statement that the direct
action is untimely. King is pushing with great ordeal for the change of unjust segregation laws, even
though his peers suggest that this is not the time for such big a change. In the same paragraph people
questioned King, Why didn t you give the new city administration time to act? Of which he responded
to by using a bit of logic that if he doesn t put pressure on the new administration, then no one would
ever see any change. He says this because even though Mr.Connor is a nicer than Mr.Boutwell, both
are segregationists , which meant that any hopes of change would be unlikely unless acted upon by an
outside force. Later on, king builds his credibility by referencing Reinhold Niebuhr, a religious
individual and his ideas about how, groups tend to be more immoral than individuals. Niebuhr, being
an American theologian, ethicist, and public intellectual, backs up Kings main argument because
Mr.Niebuhr has such high levels of clout, that the clergymen are able to understand that the reason
king is preaching for social change is because the 8

Essay about Anti-War Movement in the United States
Anti War Movement in the United States
During the late 60s and early 70s, anti war movement was steadily progressing in the United States.
The peace movement was directed to stop all forms of war. As the sixties wore on many anti war
groups began to form in the United States to protest for peace. These included the Black Panthers, the
SDS, Woodstock, music and flower power, and the Hippy Movement. The anti war movement
attracted people from college campuses, middle class suburbs, labour unions and government
institutions. Pacifists were also against the war on moral and religious grounds as they believed all war

The source portrays a negative image for the war in Vietnam as it shows young children running from
their homes which have just been bombed. This may have been one of the reasons for the anti war
movement because the distraught faces of the innocent children brought a feeling of guilt to the
American people. However this source is biased and may have been used as propaganda to try and

Source C is by Richard Hamer, an American journalist, writing in 1970 about the widespread

others are screaming in agony with a leg or arm blown off, or their guts hanging out . This is a
shocking sentence which made American people feel that the U.S involvement in Vietnam was
resulting in many gruesome and pointless deaths. This source is fairly reliable, however it may have

Tenant Landlord And Landlord Tenant
When entering into a landlord tenant relationship many people hope for the most reasonable easy
going tenant or landlord possible. As we all know that is easier said than done when choosing a tenant
a landlord must search to find a person they believe will in fact pay them rent, respect the property
that is being rented to them, as well as agree to all terms and conditions stated in the lease. A tenant
must be sure that he is renting from a reasonable, accountable landlord that will respect his privacy, as
well as fix any problems that may occur with the unit while the tenant inhabits it. In this situation both
parties have failed to uphold their duties to one another now it is time to determine who is liable for

There were no complications with Larry s compliance to these simple rules. In the beginning both
parties were very pleased with one another, both looking forward to a positive landlord tenant
relationship. The main duty that applies to this mediation is the duty to maintain premises, which
means that even after Roger moves in Larry must do his part to upkeep the apartment and continue to
maintain a habitable condition for Roger to live in (Beatty Samuelson, 2007). The required legal
standards of how the apartment must be kept are usually stated in the lease. Even if the standards the
landlord must meet are not present in the lease the implied warranty of habitability still applies which
states that the landlord must meet all standards set by the local building code so that the area is
sufficient for a human to inhabit it (Beatty Samuelson, 2007). Roger Renter has responsibilities that he
also must uphold, as a tenant the first most vital is the duty to pay rent. Larry is very pleased that he
has had no issues collecting Rogers rent money each month. Roger seems like a very reasonable
model tenant there have been no issues between the two until this leak in the roof started Roger did the
right thing by bringing it to Larry s attention so that he can fix the problem before it gets too out of

Another way dystopia is reveled in the novel is through the actions of John. When he is brought back
to London, he does not understand how and why the people live that way. The author makes it seem as
if the people have no feel for what freedom is, it is almost as if they are slaves, trained and
conditioned to do what they are supposed to do. In an attempt to get the people to believe and rebel
against the civilized world, John throws the soma out the window. Soma is a pill that is given to the
workers to take them to a soma holiday, a place where one is always happy and can not be bothered by
the outside world. After throwing the soma out the window, John and Bernard are taken to Mustapha

Innocence And The Death Penalty Analysis
In Richard Dieter s article Innocence and the Death Penalty: The Increasing Danger of Executing the
Innocent , he shares the mistakes and the dangers of the death penalty. Capital punishment had gotten
more and more controversial during the 90 s because of the risk of innocence. There was no DNA
evidence during this time to prove if a person was innocent or guilty, so when putting them to death
there was still a possibility that they were incorrect on the verdict. Today there are DNA tests that help
prove whether someone is innocent or guilty, but it cannot bring those back who have been executed
unjustly because of the death penalty. Lack of witnesses, the pressure from the public to solve the
case, and limited resources for the defendant were common obstacles and quickened them to be
charged as a suspect and then sentenced them to death based on the crime they committed . As
technology advanced with DNA evidence, some criminals who were on death row were let out of ...

The American Civil Liberties Union believes that the death penalty is unjust and goes against a lot of
what America believes in. Under the Constitution, Americans are promised equal protection under law

what is stated in the Constitution. Executions planned out spectacles and people gather around to

to house them in a federal prison for life. Not only is it affecting the family of the suspect but it is also
affects taxpayer s wallets. Performing the death penalty goes against all beliefs in our Constitution,

Examples Of Reality As Contradiction
The second dialectic concept is reality as contradiction. Reality as contradiction is not this or that , but
often this and that at the same time. Contradiction is the unity of opposites. An example of reality as a
contradiction would be when Abramoff was in prison and was accused of harassing a rabbi. While in
prison, he was trying to get access to Torah and spoke with the rabbi about getting one. With the
Jewish holiday right around the corner, Abramoff wanted to make sure he had the Torah in time. The
rabbi agreed to lend him one, but then he was later accused of harassing the rabbi, even though the

The basis for motion is contradiction. Readers will come to notice that Abramoff s life is fueled by an
event or change in his life that is contradictory to what he actually wants to do. Before Abramoff
became a notorious lobbyist his career was imbedded in movie making. He was in his mid thirties
when he started producing films and was constantly traveling, which led him to be away from his five
kids and wife. Abramoff wanted to be involved in his children s life and didn t want to leave raising
the kids up to his wife to do alone. As a producer, he was constantly working and traveling and had
little to no time to spend with his family. This really took a toll on Abramoff because he knew he was
missing the most important years of his kids lives. Abramoff was in a very conflicted spot because he
wanted to be that amazing father and husband, but also work at the same time. After much thought,
Abramoff dropped his career in film making and began lobbying. This is an example of motion
energized through contradiction because his contradiction powered the motion that transitioned him

Dna Isolation Research Paper
DNA Isolation, Quantification, and Visualization
DNA isolation is a process of DNA purification through physical and chemical means. DNA was
protected within the nuclear membrane of B. rapa, which was surrounded by a cell membrane and cell
wall. Mechanical and chemical lysis of the cell was necessary to break open the cells and solubilize
the membranes to isolate the DNA. Mechanical lysis, which consisted of grinding the leaves with a
pestle, broke down the cell wall. Chemical lysis, through the use of lysis solution, broke down the
lipid base membranes. The lysate was placed inside the Zymo spin IV spin filter to remove chunks of
debris from the solubilized cell components. A binding buffer was added to the collection tube that
held DNA,

Natural Gas Fracking
Not only is breathing in the methane fumes a risk to health, but also methane is flammable. In
Wyoming, a leaking methane gas well burst into flames, swaying the views of several individuals
(Lavelle 109). Since this well not only leaked methane but also natural gas, this fire quickly expanded
and burned a large flame. This fire lasted for months until the firefighters were finally able to put it
out. Copious amounts of individuals became forced to evacuate and eventually, their homes would be
engulfed in the flames. Another fire broke out, but this time it was located in a home. A family in

would be important in the safety of the town and the people. Not only would there be hundreds of jobs
created to build the wells, but there has to be people to maintain the wells, perform maintenance work
on them. In the past years, jobs have been a laborious task to come by, unemployment rates have

A statistics available from the Department of Environment reveal that 95 per cent of the tannery
industries have been built in unplanned way at the congested places of Hazaribag during the last fifty
years. At present during the peak monsoon about 21 thousand and 600 cubic meters of liquid toxic
wastes are dumped daily into the river Buriganga from the 185 tannery industries of Hazaribag. There
is no alternative way to dump this liquid toxic waste at the time of continuous production of tannery
industries.
Unfortunately a recent observation of Hazaribagh clearly shows an active decay and destruction
primarily attributed to unplanned growth and poor maintenance. This area now appears no more than
an inner city unhygienic environment. Technical compatibility is necessary to improve the houses and
the community with certain policies. An architect is one who has the socio cultural consciousness,

Theme Of Desire Under The Elms
This thesis is written in an attempt to analyze the symbolic meanings of the elms in Desire Under the
Elms from possible angles. The two elms show up at the very beginning of the play, impressing us
with a sinister maternity in their aspect, a crushing, jealous absorption. (O Neill, 1925:1)
One of the themes in this play is the Oedipus complex coined by Freud, revealed through Eben s
obsession with his mother. His addiction to her even brings about the hatred for both his father and
brothers, who all seem to be responsible for his mother s death from Eben s point of view. It is exactly
the Oedipus complex deeply rooted in his unconsciousness again makes him an easy prey for mature

The root of the elm buries itself deeply in the ground and reaches out for anything that will satisfy its
need, symbolizing the concealed part of the unconscious mind, the instinctual drives and the source of
desires and impulses. In the story, the protagonists are all seized by the strong and ungovernable
desire. Eben s half brothers expects freedom and the chance to leave the land and head for California.
Eben indulges himself in maternal love, for which the departure of his mother leads to his anxiety and
insecurity as well as his obsession with her possession, the land and the parlor. Abbie pursue a
complete control of the farmhouse as well as Eben s love. And it is her id entices her to murder the
baby in order to win back Eben s love, blinding her guilt and her love for her own baby. Cabot shows
an ambition of achieving something great, hoping to acquire both wealth, love and respect, with an
eagerness to run away from terrible loneliness. All of the portrayals of these characters accord closely
with the title: Desire Under the Elms. Those desires are intangible. However, through the conflicts of
the story, we are able to feel it, relive it or even smell

Encryption in Today s Information Systems
In today s world of instant connectivity and information at users fingertips, it s vital that sensitive
information is safeguarded against those who seek to do personal harm and profit from gaining access
to the data. The key behind keeping information safe is the method in which it s protected and
encrypted. In order to appreciate how information is secured, users must understand the encryption
concepts behind it. To do this, one must comprehend the current encryption standards, the trends and
developments in encryption technology, the importance of securing data, the government s regulations
pertaining to encryption, the companies involved in research and implementation, the implications of

When a fellow general received the message, he would wrap the paper around his corresponding
scytale to decipher the message (Tyson 2014). Since the advent of computers though, encryption has
become increasing important and relies almost solely on cryptographic means to secure information.
When speaking about encryption today, it refers more to the process rather than the mathematical
formulas used to scramble data. The basic idea behind encrypting a computer message is such that it is
scrambled with a sequence of random bits, known as a key, and only parties with the corresponding
key can transpose it back into a comprehensible format. These keys are created via a cipher, otherwise
known as an algorithm. When a user sends a message, known as the plaintext, across a network, the
computer applies an algorithm to the information to encode it, resulting in a ciphertext (Encryption
Basics 2014). This method can be best summarized visually: Plaintext message + encryption
algorithm + secret key = Ciphertext Ciphertext + corresponding key + decryption algorithm =
Plaintext message Generally speaking, modern encryption techniques fall into one of two categories
symmetric (homogeneous) and asymmetric (heterogeneous). Symmetric encryption is a system of
communication whereby both parties share the same key to encode and decode a message. The
Spartan generals used this method with their scytales.

Family Life And Discrimination In Barn Burning By William...
William Faulkner born and raised in the South. Faulkner being a Southerner had intimate knowledge
of the history of the south. Faulkner wrote Barn Burning on what he heard growing up. He would
listen to stories of famers from the small town he grew up in. Faulkner s family history gave him
inspiration to write the story about Colonel Sartoris in Barn Burning. William Faulkner s Barn
Burning is about a relation between a boy and his father. The young boy is expected to side with the
family to protect his family and his father. In Joseph Flora s essay about Burning Barn he points out
how two brothers in the same family could be so different (Flora 755). Colonel Sartoris a young boy

Abstract :
The Objective of this project is to recognise english handwriting from a given document image. In this
report we have used 40point feature extraction to extract pattern from the characters and then use this
data to train artificial neural network. This system is very successful in recognition of handwritten
characters. Hence this system will be suitable to convert handwritten text into text document.
Introduction :
Optical Character Recognition is one of the most researching field in recent years. It has numerous
applications in the field of automation and advancement of machine interface with man. Handwritten
recognition is one of the challenging and fascinating area for research in Optical
Character Recognition. Online and Offline are two modes for handwritten recognition. In Offline
method, writing is captured by scanner and final text is formed. The data formed from 40point feature
extraction is used to feed artificial neural network to train it and produce more accurate result. Several
applications such as document reading, mail sorting, postal address recognition and bank processing
require offline handwritten recognition. As a result, offline method is very active area for research for
more accurate solutions. In this project we used english alphabet characters to train artificial neural
network and test its accuracy of character recognition.

Possible explanations for differences between our findings and other published data could be
attributed to age, exercise protocol and intensity of exercise. Serum creatine kinase (CK) and lactate
dehydrogenase (LDH) are an indication of the degree of metabolic adaptation to physical training of
skeletal muscles. These enzymes are involved in muscle metabolism, and their serum concentration is
normally very low. They increase considerably after intensive exercise. Changes in serum activity of
muscle enzymes have been reported in normal subjects and athletes after strenuous exercise. The
amount of enzyme efflux from muscle tissue to serum can be influenced by physical exercise. These
results showed that the use of BCAA didn t reduce serum CK activity 24 and 48 hrs after heavy
resistance exercise. Serum CK activity was elevated in all groups after exercise and was highest in the
placebo group. It was obvious in BCAA group that the Ck and LDH levels were non significantly

The Is Not Healthcare Vending Machines
The technology promises seemingly limitless possibilities. Robots are already living among us,
controlling your refrigerator, your smart phone, your personal computer and even your car. Some
technology advancements sound far fetched to contemporary ears, and many people hesitate at the
prospect of adopting them. Nonetheless should we embrace a cyborg future in which tasks great and
small are carried out by robots? As robots are becoming increasingly common in human
environments, people will be presented with more opportunities in addition existing jobs in healthcare

two WORDS with various opinions on this prospect. Doctors are not healthcare vending machines,

healthcare professional, by contrast, undergoes many years of demanding training and sacrifice,
develops a practice, and pursues a vocation for the purpose of serving others. Professionals declare
that they are competent and willing to care for the sick, and they commit to healing as their way of

Ethiopi A Poor Resource Country
The African country, more commonly known as the Horn of Africa, is a poor resource country that is
in need of advanced medical care. Ethiopia is located in the east central part of Africa. Healthcare
options are limited, running water is scarce, mortality rates are continually increasing, nevertheless
Ethiopia is continually making strides to solve these challenging issues. In the following portfolio, the

diseases are widely preventable, however, when the healthcare system is lacking, the people of
Ethiopia are negatively impacted. In Ethiopia, the life expectancy for females is 62 years of age, and
for males it is 65 years of age. The probability of a person dying under the age of five years old is 68

Russian Ballet Dance In The 17th And 18th Century
Poverty and other major problems involving constant combatant situations and invasions Russia faced
in the 17th and 18th centuries led to many adaptations of performance and arts which were centered
around dancing. Due to the exclusivity of proper ballet teachings from known academies many lower
class Russian citizens were innovative in the creation of their own ballet performances. Unlike the
higher social classes who found great significance to formality and the esteem which surrounded
Russian ballet, the lower class had their own take on ballet. Lower class Russian citizens adapted
ballet dances through their peers who had commonly been instructed from a handful of other
interpretations of the dance. (Schmidt, 1988). Because the Russian ballet academies were selective
and difficult to attend many versions of the ballet were formed based upon various interpretations of
the dance. Most commonly ballet dances which were performed by those who were not receiving
ballet direction from institutions were more inventive and lively than the serious demeanor of formal
performances of Russian Ballet.

differences has great prominence in the cultural identity of the country. ... Show more content on

Civil Rights Movement in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
To Kill a Mockingbird was a 1960 s novel written by the author Harper Lee from Alabama during the
Civil Rights Movement which inspired the theme of her book; racism. The book is set in the 1930 s in
Maycomb which is a very poor town. The book is written in the view of Jean Louise Scout Finch a 6
year old girl who is the son of lawyer Atticus Finch and has a brother called Jem. They are close
neighbours to the dreaded Radley family and especially Boo Radley the son who they are terrified of.
Boo has been judged unfairly by the whole town of Maycomb because no one had seen him in years,
people were just going along with old wives tales about him stabbing his mother in the leg. This unfair
judgement links in with the racial prejudice that occurs in Maycomb when black people are treated
poorly just because of their colour.
Racism and Segregation happens throughout the book for example when Scout is at school and her
teacher Miss Caroline finds out Scout can read she tells her she can t read because the rest of the class
cant, she gets off to a bad start with Miss Caroline when she tries to explain Walter Cunningham can t
afford anything because his family are very poor which gets her in trouble. Also Miss Gates who is
very hypocritical says she condemns what Hitler is doing to the Jews which would make you think she
believes in racial equality but then she says she doesn t want blacks to get equal rights and they
shouldn t be treated fairly.

The 1996 Baz Lurhman Interpretation of Rome and Juliet
I will be doing my micro analysis on the 1996 Baz Lurhman interpretation of Romeo + Juliet, the
scene I have chosen to analyse takes place after the news report monologue in which after the two
families are introduced. The Capulets and the Montagues engage in an altercation at the petrol station
and I will discuss how mise en scene and cinematography are used in this sequence to construct
meaning. Initially a fast paced high angled tracking shot of the streets, houses and buildings are used
which displays the setting; this fast tracking shot is used along with intense non diegetic music which
connotes a frantic and chaotic feeling for the spectator or could be used to reflect the tone of the
movie. Text then appears on the screen reading In fair Verona the type face used was sans serif in
childish bubble writing, a type face which is typically associated with comic books subsequently
setting the tone of the film. Again numerous fast tracking shots of the chaotic urban city with zooms
are used to reinforce the opening feel of bedlam. In a wide establishing shot, we can see the
positioning of the Capulet and the Montague towers showing that the two families live and or work
next to each other and that they are openly in close competition with each other. Then a fast tracking
shot with a contra zoom is used to get extreme close up shots of the Jesus statue then the Capulet
tower and the Montague tower to a tracking shot of the surrounding areas, these types of shots

Descriptive Essay About My New House
I looked back at my house, the green peeling paint on the door, the ripped screen door, the huge
window at the top of the house, from which you could see into my room, and I only had one thought,
this is no longer my home. I tore my gaze away from the house and entered the car. The floor had so
much of our boxes and suitcases, I was forced to lift my feet so I could fit. My neighbors weren t
home yet, so I wasn t able to say goodbye to them. I wished they were there. I d always been really
close with my neighbors. They took care of me when my sister was born, and waited for my grandpa
to take me to the hospital. I was especially close to the neighborhood kids; ever since I could talk they
came over almost every week. I wondered if my new neighborhood would be like this. The engine
vroomed to life and away from the beautiful, old house we went. In less than ten minutes, we arrived
at my new house. The front was undeniably gorgeous. The grass was not the yellowish brown brought
on from the drought, instead it was a lively green that I had dreams about running in. The fall leaves
around the trees enhanced the feeling of Christmas soon to come and the stairs leading up to the front
door were clean. They had no muddy footprints that I was so used to seeing on my concrete. I walked
up the steps slowly. I had a half witted hope that if I moved slow enough I d end up back at the Azusa
house. I didn t move slow enough. I walked through the doorway and into a corridor type area

Neon Desert Music Festival Analysis
El Paso best defines itself as the truest wafer of Wild West. Its streets are so ancient that they have
witnessed the existence of the likes of Billy the Kid, Wyatt Earp and other lawless times. This is the
same place where the unfortunate Four Dead in Five Seconds shootout occurred. However, these are
not the events that have put El Paso in the limelight but it is the blending of culture and traditions that
take place in the city. After all, it is the meeting point of New Mexico and Old Mexico. Annually the
city holds the Neon Desert Music Festival and Sun City Music Festival each with over forty music
artists from the dominions of soft and hard rocks, hip hop, RnB and blues and other captivating
performances (Molinar). But the festival that is awaited with a lot of expectation is the Neon Desert
Music Festival. So what is so captivating about the Neon Desert Music Festival that makes tens of
thousands of feet pound ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Between the periods of 2011 and 2015 over 60,000 fans have turned up for the festival. Consequently,
the festival has moved from a two day to a three day event to quarter a large number of fans.
A three day event is just perfect for me , Allan Theodre said. You get more fun for your money . It was
his second year attending the festival.
Zach Paul of Splendid Sun Production, which is the promoter and producer of the festival, said that
they expect 40,000 to 45,000 people to attend this year festival.
Conclusively, Neon Desert Music Festival is one of the greatest events of its kind. This year the event
is expected to be bigger with a variety of music and performances to entertain the attending crowd.
With some of the big artist like Ludacris, Tyler, Future, Daddy Yankee and DJ Carnage on the list of
performers, it is far from being disappointing, but while attending the festival, you ought not to forget
to carry some sunscreen, after all, it is

Tet Offensive
The Vietnam war was started and lasts until 1968 when the Vietnamese launched their Tet Offensive.
The Tet Offensive was a surprise for the United States because at that time we didn t think any country
would be able to surprise attack us like the Tet Offensive did. The Tet offensive was one of the largest
military campaigns of this war, it was built of over 80,000 communist troops all coming together to all
attack the United States hoping in return, we would end the war.
On January 31, 1968, thousands of North Vietnamese forces launched the Tet Offensive, originally
named for the lunar new year holiday called Tet. Many large attacks on more than 100 cities and
towns ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the Tet Offensive did not have incredibly huge problems in South Vietnam as the leader
expected, it made a major impact in the United States. It turned out to be a rather good result for
Vietnam because the American public opinion against the war had us thinking that we should not be
supporting the war. According to encyclopedia even if the offensive did not bring immediate victory,
the Communists calculated it would allow rural forces to disrupt the pacification program, destroy the
American illusion of success ( Paragraph 2 )The Tet Offensive proved to be a good success but also
very tragic. More than 200,000 troops were sent to be a part of Tet Offensive. The War finally ends on
February 22nd 1968. It resulted in thousands of deaths, and an ending that neither side was happy
about. The United States and Vietnam both didn t win the war although they refused to show that or
say that. Instead we would say how the war turned out to be a

The Best Day Of My Life Essay
Thinking back on an event or a day that I would entitle the best day of my life was more of a
challenge because to me I feel I had so many, but there was this one day that kept haunting my brain,
not letting me suppress it. The memory of my 16th birthday. Now I know you may wonder why I
choose this particular day to be my top choice out my 17 years of life, but it was just something about
this time that makes it different than any other ordinary day.
It all started early morning on the twenty sixth day of May 2016, when my mom came into my room
and sung to me the black version of the birthday song. After, listening and laughing at her belt out her
high notes for a song that is primarily sung in a low to medium ... Show more content on

As I was observing my new phone, my eyes started to become full of tears of joy, because I was
asking for this gift for the longest but she would never budge to buy it for me, not knowing she was
just waiting for the perfect time to give to me. At this point my day could not get any better than this.
Still yet, her work wasn t done! She rushed me out of the house and drove two hours and 32 minutes
to be exact towards our destination, Myrtle Beach. On our ride there we did your normal car dues such
as karaoke where we would assign each other s parts to sing, we even took pleasure at laughing at
people s facial expressions as they passed by. There was also a point when we participated in a
stoplight race, which by the way was 100 percent safe, because we just wanted to see whose car had
the fastest takeoff.
Now that we were just an hour away from where we were going we stopped at a little corner store on
the edge of Tuberville to gas up and buy some snacks since we were getting hungry. As I was walking
towards the store with $30.00 in hand, I saw a little glare from the ground. Nearing the suspicious
flash, I bent down and right beside the broken glass was $200.00

Private Prisons Negativly Impact State and Local Governments
Private prisons have a negative effect on states and local governments. Unfortunately, the number of
private prisons has been increasing since their inception in 1983 causing further problems. For profit
prisons offer no real benefits and are bad investments for states. Furthermore, private prisons
beleaguer communities with high turnover rates that hurt local economies. The demands of these
institutions put an excessive burden on the local community s infrastructure. Similarly, private prisons
strain the county and city legal systems. More often than not, spin off industries and economic
benefits promised by the for profit correction industry fail to appear. Additionally, private prisons are
allowed to cherry pick the least expensive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, states like Texas, Tennessee, Florida, Ohio, and Arizona have been increasing the
number of private prisons in their states. In fact, there s been a similar surge in private prison
construction as the inmate population has tripled between 1987 and 2007: Inmates in private prisons
now account for 9 percent of the total U.S. prison population, up from 6 percent in 2000 (Khimm
2010). Regrettably, instead of alleviating budgetary woes these states have added new burdens to their
bottom lines.
Private prisons do little to improve local economies. By all means, the cost benefits of privatization
have not materialized to the extent promised by the private sector. Although there are examples of cost
savings, there are other examples in which such benefits have not been realized (Austin 2001, 39).
Furthermore, private prisons offer meager cost savings that stem from a reduction in labor related cost
(Austin 2001). On one hand, proponents of this industry say that private prisons are more cost
efficient. On the other hand, opponents say they are not cost effective. Indeed, private prisons do save
money in some respects. However, these savings come with hidden costs that make them irrelevant.
Moreover, the proliferation of private prisons has had a negative effect on states and local
governments. Rural areas in particular are drastically affected by private prisons. In fact, increasing
evidence suggests that by many measures prisons do not produce

Coffin Ed And Grave Digger Jones By Sherlock Holmes
The detective fiction genre is a wonderful conglomerate of intricate stories laid out in a well thought
out manner. The methods of detection used by many of the detectives that we have read about in this
class tend to work perfectly in the cases of the stories themselves. But if we were to take these
detectives out of their covered stories and put them into the real world, there would be a myriad of
different real world problems that they likely couldn t solve. In this writing I will analyze a few
different problems in the real world that our detectives would issues solving with their methods
described in their respective texts. Sherlock Holmes was the first detective to some to mind when I
thought of a troubled person. He does cocaine and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that Dupin uses the technique in a bit more of a locked out way than Holmes. It almost seems as if he
keeps everyone around him in the dark about what he is thinking. For example in The Murders in the
Rue Morgue the narrator describes Dupin saying, Dupin went on, very much as if in a soliloquy. I
have already spoken of his abstract manner at such times. His discourse was addressed to myself; but
his voice, although by no means loud, had that intonation which is commonly employed in speaking to
someone at a great distance. His eyes, vacant in expression, regarded only the wall (Levine 11). This
section illustrates my previous comments about him being an individual who thinks out loud to
himself and locks out

Erythropoietin Essay
Erythropoietin: Is it worth it?
Carriella Starnes
Emory Henry College
Over a century ago Eugene Goldwasser and Takaji Miyake worked together in Chicago to synthesize
the human hormone erythropoietin, better known as EPO. It took over 10 years for EPO to be
approved by the Food and Drug Administration to be used solely for patients with anemia. EPO is
naturally produced by the kidneys and is sensitive to the oxygen levels in the blood. When oxygen
levels are too low, EPO is released and stimulates the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells.
Often times a low oxygen level in the blood can indicate that a person has anemia, which is a
condition in which the blood is deficient in red blood cells... ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Genius as it was, the system soon caught up and cheating the test became harder (Hopkins, 2000). In
the 2004 Olympic games they solely used urine samples to test for synthetic EPO (or rhEPO) in the
system, which proved to be a much more accurate way to get results ( EPO detection , 2015). Now
there are more ways than one to obtain higher levels of EPO. More recently the use of hyperbaric
chambers has increased in use by athletes. Hyperbaric chambers increase our oxygen intake from 25%
to around 50% by forcing pure oxygen into the lungs which increases oxygen delivery, and thus
recovery time is shortened ( Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for athletes , 2015). Many professional
athletes have used these chambers to assist in injury recovery and recuperation after performances.
These aren t just used for athletes, though; hyperbaric chambers work very well to aid in the
management of diseases like chronic fatigue syndrome, Parkinson s disease, and rehabilitation after
surgeries (Howell, n.d.). A tool that may be a little more common is an elevation training mask; these
masks are designed to simulate training in higher altitudes by restricting the amount of air one can
breathe in. When the amount of oxygen someone breathes in is reduced hemoglobin is produced at a
higher rate, which then transports more oxygen and creates a higher amount of

Case 7.1 Handy Andy, Inc. Essay
1. Is this a customer service problem? Why or why not?
a. Why is this a customer service problem?
It is a customer service problem because ultimately it is reflecting poorly upon the company and
providing customers with poor and inadequate customer service. The distributors are lying to
customers to inflate sales. The distributors are not rendering adequate customer service all of which
whether direct or indirect is associated poorly in the customer s reflection and association with Handy
Andy s product (the trash compactors)

3. What should Handy Andy s marketing vice president do? Why?
Handle the situation and do not let it get any more out of control than it currently is. This sounds the
brewing of a perfect storm for customer service and relations. It is ultimately reflecting poorly upon
the company. The V.P. should make the distributors and retailers know that this behavior is
unacceptable and Handy Andy does not endorse this kind of business in relation to its valued
customers.
4. In the case is the statement, The factory distributors in these few cities indicated that they, not
Handy Andy, Inc., stood behind the one year warranty. Is this a problem for Handy Andy? Why or
why not?
This is a problem. It is not the distributors issuing the warranty. It is Handy Andy s warranty given to
the customers as a testament to stand behind their product. This is not a third party warrant that is sold
at say a used car lot. Again, this reflects poorly on Handy Andy and how they value their customers.
5. Bixby, Booher, and Ortega recognize that Handy Andy needs a better way to learn about the buyer s
installation experience. One alternative is to add an open ended question, dealing with the installation
experience, to the warranty activation form. Another alternative is to e mail a brief survey about the
installation experience within three to five days of receiving a warranty activation form. Which of
these alternatives should

quot;The Raven quot;
Edgar Allen Poe s journey into the realm of death, fear and the macabre, The Raven is an exploration
into the loneliness and despair associated with the loss of a loved one. Through the clever use of
rhyme, meter, imagery, symbolism and word choice, Poe catapults us into a world of sinister images,
morbid predilections and unearthly machinations. We are, at once, submerged in the pulsing, driving
force of supernatural fear as only Poe is able to create. And with every use of the haunting refrain
Nevermore, upon which the chilling cadence of this poem is built, Poe transforms a story steeped in
remorse and sorrow into a tale of preternatural mystery and suspense.
The first, and most powerful literary device that Poe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the use of the alliteration weak and weary , in addition to the internal rhyme of dreary and weary
, we are instantly struck by the tone of the poem as being one of loneliness, grief and depression.
In the second stanza, we are more fully enlightened to the setting from which these emotions stem.
With the use of such phrases like bleak December and dying ember , Poe conveys the speakers
internal state with the use of external clues. In both cases, the word choice seems to transmit feelings
of isolation and misery from which the speaker wishes to find relief. And, it is here that we are first
introduced to the reason for his sorrow, his lost love Lenore. It is from this base of raw emotion and
desolate misery that the poem garners speed and evolves.
Poe s use of symbolism is another potent tool with which he imparts the meaning and depth of the
poem. First and foremost, we must decipher the significance and implication of the raven itself. The
embodiment of death, the bird signifies the very issue with which the speaker is grappling. In the
suggestion that the bird has come from the Night s Plutonian shore, Poe calls upon the myth of Pluto,
the God of the Underworld, the land of the dead in Greek mythology. The Raven, therefore, may be
thought of as a creature from the land of the dead. The corresponding relevance of this in the poem is
that his loss and grief have taken on a living and

  • 2. Sdb Research Paper What is Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB)? Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB) is a common medical disorder that is increasingly recognized in children almost 30 million American children are living with SDB. SDB can range from frequent loud snoring to Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) a condition involving repeated episodes of partial or complete blockage of the airway during sleep. When a child s breathing is disrupted during sleep, their growing bodies are deprived of the one thing they need most oxygen. In response, some children become restless, irritable, and hyperactive, while others experience drowsiness, poor scholastic performance, bedwetting, chronic allergies, or any combination of the above. Additional Benefits for children Ortho Tain® ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is designed to feel like a pacifier that helps to familiarize the child with the process of wearing a device in their mouth every night. This initial device is typically worn anywhere from one to four months before moving on to the next step. Daytime wear and extended treatment time could be recommended depending on the child s specific habits and their severity. Step 2: Ortho Tain® for Kids During the second phase, a device specifically sized for each child is also worn at night. It works to gently guide the incoming permanent teeth into the appropriate places, correct jaw relations, and expand the arches to make room for the larger incoming adult teeth. This helps to eliminate and prevent any improper dentition. This device is worn for only about two to five months before the final phase of treatment begins. Step 3: Ortho Tain® for Kids Once the child has at least four permanent teeth in the mouth, the third and final treatment begins with a device used to accommodate the incoming adult teeth. This is a vital stage in our treatment process because as the adult teeth are forming, the gum tissue fibers are beginning to anchor these teeth in the mouth. When using this third phase of treatment, the Perfect Start System ensures the adult teeth erupt into their proper position and the natural fiber bundles are able to form, therefore locking them into the correct alignment. This method works to prevent any new erupting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The traditional processes can be replaced with the modern strategic decisions. A crisis may sometimes create a sense of urgency in the employees mind and can force them to act immediately. In case of TQM , the crisis can act as threat or various demands from the consumers for improving the quality of the services. Capulin underwent a rather large eruption that formed its current 1000ft cinder cone shape, which gave way to a number of small lava flows and cinder eruptions [that] paved over the mound, steepening it s slopes (NASA, 2016). The rise in sea level covered much of the west and connected one ocean to another and similar to Colorado, the sea level in New Mexico receded and decreased periodically. When it expanded and covered an area, dark colored, fine grained, and thin bedded marine sediments were deposited, [and] when the seaway contracted and retreated, beach, river and delta deposits built out and covered the marine deposits (Sayre and Ort, 2011). • 8. Analyzing The Strengths Of Qualitative And Quantitative... Q methodology was first introduced by psychologist William Stephenson (1902 1989). Q methodology combines the strengths of both qualitative and quantitative methods (Brown, 1996). The method is one that studies subjectivity and can be used on various researches. Subjectivity can be defined as a person s communication of his or her point of view and it is always stems from a person s internal frame of reference (McKeown Thomas, 1988). An internal frame of reference can refer to the personal viewpoint of the respondent; in this research, it is the viewpoint of several people for reasons why project are delayed. This frame of reference has been established through the experience of working on or being in other ways involved in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hence, this reference provides much more information than a yes, no question ever did (McKeown Thomas 1988). Q methodology uses the concept of ranking as simplified in Table 4.2. By asking multiple people from SHTC to rank the 40 statements, the prioritization of these criteria comes forth. All statements are based on people s opinion on why project delay, yet the comparison with other people s opinions and ranking the statements will bring about the real subjectivity (Brown, 1993). 4.1.2 The Q analysis process As the method revolves around the ranking of statements, the process starts by defining these statements. This set of statements, also referred to as the Q sample, should comprehensively represent the concourse: the sum of all things people say or think about the issue being investigated. The concourse is most typically collected through interviews and focus group discussions. In addition, sources such as publications, essays, or any other sources related to the issue may be used. The collection of the concourse and the Q sample is described in the previous chapter. What is in fact investigated is not just the concourse itself, but the inherent operant structure that exists in the concourse or the Q sample (Dryzek, Clark, McKenzie, 1989). The Q sample often exists of statements, however, it can be created from basically anything: from words to paintings or even songs (Brown, 1996). • 9. Reflection Paper On Regular Council Meeting Regular City Council Meeting I have always prided myself as a person who knows virtually everything that happens around my community. It is common for humans to judge or misjudge what they do not know or understand. Too often we are quick to criticize and lash after what other people say or do simply because we do not understand it. This fact describes the character and attitude of many people especially when it comes to politics and how a country is run right from the top to the bottom. The average people is generally unconcerned with political affairs like how politicians spend their tax money. You only need to look at the dismally low voter turn out to confirm this fact. This should to change and for me, this change came on 26th October 2017, when I decided to attend The Tempe City Regular Council Meeting. I had never attended such a meeting before. Part of the reason is perhaps owing to the attitude of most people as I explained earlier but more particularly, I had not seen any local issue that moved me enough to demand the necessity to have my voice heard or to be curious enough to want to find out about the secrets of the operations of the local government. Generally, I knew that the decisions made and policies developed by the city government affected my life directly or indirectly. However, to sit and watch all the work and grind that goes to the formulation of these policies and decisions has made me realize that democracy is not self driving. The Chambers After completing my classes for the day, I went directly to Tempe City Hall City Council Chambers which is housed in the Harry E. Mitchell Government Center. As I got in two minutes before the official starting time, the room was almost fully occupied but I was lucky to secure a seat at a position where I could follow the proceedings comfortably. The chamber is divided into two seating areas one for the Council Members and the other for the members of the public. The two areas face each other and are separated in the middle by a corridor that connects to two main entrance/exit points. The area accommodating the councilmembers is at a relatively elevated angle compared to the area where the citizens sit to facilitate easy and effective engagement. ... • 10. Rhetorical Analysis Of Martin Luther King In paragraphs 12 14 King uses a combination of rhetorical strategies to argue the urgency for changing current segregation laws. Kings selective use of imagery, parallel structure, and metaphors helps bring out the emotions of the eight clergymen, making them feel sympathy and understand Martin Luther King Jr.s point of view. In paragraph 12,Martin Luther King Jr focuses on addressing the opposition s statement that the direct action is untimely. King is pushing with great ordeal for the change of unjust segregation laws, even though his peers suggest that this is not the time for such big a change. In the same paragraph people questioned King, Why didn t you give the new city administration time to act? Of which he responded to by using a bit of logic that if he doesn t put pressure on the new administration, then no one would ever see any change. He says this because even though Mr.Connor is a nicer than Mr.Boutwell, both are segregationists , which meant that any hopes of change would be unlikely unless acted upon by an outside force. Later on, king builds his credibility by referencing Reinhold Niebuhr, a religious individual and his ideas about how, groups tend to be more immoral than individuals. Niebuhr, being an American theologian, ethicist, and public intellectual, backs up Kings main argument because Mr.Niebuhr has such high levels of clout, that the clergymen are able to understand that the reason king is preaching for social change is because the 8 ... This may have been one of the reasons for the anti war movement because the distraught faces of the innocent children brought a feeling of guilt to the American people. However this source is biased and may have been used as propaganda to try and persuade the American people that taking part in the war would result in the loss of many innocent lives. A couple of guys are dead, others are screaming in agony with a leg or arm blown off, or their guts hanging out . This is a shocking sentence which made American people feel that the U.S involvement in Vietnam was resulting in many gruesome and pointless deaths. Now, years later, I have aged but Eddie s Sweet Shop has remained the same. It s location still hasn t changed on Metropolitan Avenue in Queens, NY near the movie theater. The exact address of Eddie s sweet shop is 10529 Metropolitan Avenue in Flushing, NY in the borough of Queens. Eddie s Sweet Shop is about as Old Fashioned as you can get. How many restaurants have you heard of that can say they still make homemade ice cream? Eddie s Sweet shop is a true classic and the customers who go to Eddie s sweet shop always come back for its great taste. Even more memorable than the homemade ice cream and enormous scoops of ice cream that they give you is the hot fudge they pour onto your ice cream. The hot fudge is also homemade, as are all of the ingredients used at Eddie s sweet shop. The ambiance is very unique and well represented of a little kids store with teddy bears and kids toys scattered by the window sills. As we all know that is easier said than done when choosing a tenant a landlord must search to find a person they believe will in fact pay them rent, respect the property that is being rented to them, as well as agree to all terms and conditions stated in the lease. A tenant must be sure that he is renting from a reasonable, accountable landlord that will respect his privacy, as well as fix any problems that may occur with the unit while the tenant inhabits it. The required legal standards of how the apartment must be kept are usually stated in the lease. Even if the standards the landlord must meet are not present in the lease the implied warranty of habitability still applies which states that the landlord must meet all standards set by the local building code so that the area is sufficient for a human to inhabit it (Beatty Samuelson, 2007). Innocence And The Death Penalty Analysis In Richard Dieter s article Innocence and the Death Penalty: The Increasing Danger of Executing the Innocent , he shares the mistakes and the dangers of the death penalty. Capital punishment had gotten more and more controversial during the 90 s because of the risk of innocence. There was no DNA evidence during this time to prove if a person was innocent or guilty, so when putting them to death there was still a possibility that they were incorrect on the verdict. Today there are DNA tests that help prove whether someone is innocent or guilty, but it cannot bring those back who have been executed unjustly because of the death penalty. Lack of witnesses, the pressure from the public to solve the case, and limited resources for the defendant were common obstacles and quickened them to be charged as a suspect and then sentenced them to death based on the crime they committed . Since the advent of computers though, encryption has become increasing important and relies almost solely on cryptographic means to secure information. When speaking about encryption today, it refers more to the process rather than the mathematical formulas used to scramble data. The basic idea behind encrypting a computer message is such that it is scrambled with a sequence of random bits, known as a key, and only parties with the corresponding key can transpose it back into a comprehensible format. These keys are created via a cipher, otherwise known as an algorithm. When a user sends a message, known as the plaintext, across a network, the computer applies an algorithm to the information to encode it, resulting in a ciphertext (Encryption Basics 2014). This method can be best summarized visually: Plaintext message + encryption algorithm + secret key = Ciphertext Ciphertext + corresponding key + decryption algorithm = Plaintext message Generally speaking, modern encryption techniques fall into one of two categories symmetric (homogeneous) and asymmetric (heterogeneous). Symmetric encryption is a system of communication whereby both parties share the same key to encode and decode a message. The Spartan generals used this method with their scytales. ... Robots are already living among us, controlling your refrigerator, your smart phone, your personal computer and even your car. Nonetheless should we embrace a cyborg future in which tasks great and small are carried out by robots? As robots are becoming increasingly common in human environments, people will be presented with more opportunities in addition existing jobs in healthcare may be replaced by software, humanoid robots and smart machines by the year 2025. And there are two WORDS with various opinions on this prospect. Doctors are not healthcare vending machines, but professionals who understand the difference between negative rights, such as the right to refuse treatment . (Cheshire, JR., MD). Physicians, nurses and other healthcare workers are professionals. A healthcare professional, by contrast, undergoes many years of demanding training and sacrifice, develops a practice, and pursues a vocation for the purpose of serving others. Researchers have found if the infected person in a serodiscordant relationship is following the prescribed regimen, then transmission of the disease is 96% less likely to be passed to the HIV negative partner (Quinn, 2010) In 2010, because of extensive clinical testing, a new therapy for HIV prevention was created. Pre Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEp) is a prevention method that treats the uninfected partner with an orally administered antiretroviral medication. The Center for Disease Control supported the study, which was conducted in the United States and other countries with the hope being that this prevention strategy would lower infection rates. Studies conducted using the PrEp therapy in men having sex with men resulted in lower infection rates. (Gray RH, 2011). Russian Ballet Dance In The 17th And 18th Century Poverty and other major problems involving constant combatant situations and invasions Russia faced in the 17th and 18th centuries led to many adaptations of performance and arts which were centered around dancing. Due to the exclusivity of proper ballet teachings from known academies many lower class Russian citizens were innovative in the creation of their own ballet performances. Unlike the higher social classes who found great significance to formality and the esteem which surrounded Russian ballet, the lower class had their own take on ballet. Lower class Russian citizens adapted ballet dances through their peers who had commonly been instructed from a handful of other interpretations of the dance. (Schmidt, 1988). Because the Russian ballet academies were selective and difficult to attend many versions of the ballet were formed based upon various interpretations of the dance. • 38. Civil Rights Movement in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee To Kill a Mockingbird was a 1960 s novel written by the author Harper Lee from Alabama during the Civil Rights Movement which inspired the theme of her book; racism. The book is set in the 1930 s in Maycomb which is a very poor town. The book is written in the view of Jean Louise Scout Finch a 6 year old girl who is the son of lawyer Atticus Finch and has a brother called Jem. They are close neighbours to the dreaded Radley family and especially Boo Radley the son who they are terrified of. Boo has been judged unfairly by the whole town of Maycomb because no one had seen him in years, people were just going along with old wives tales about him stabbing his mother in the leg. This unfair judgement links in with the racial prejudice that occurs in Maycomb when black people are treated poorly just because of their colour. Racism and Segregation happens throughout the book for example when Scout is at school and her teacher Miss Caroline finds out Scout can read she tells her she can t read because the rest of the class cant, she gets off to a bad start with Miss Caroline when she tries to explain Walter Cunningham can t afford anything because his family are very poor which gets her in trouble. The Capulets and the Montagues engage in an altercation at the petrol station and I will discuss how mise en scene and cinematography are used in this sequence to construct meaning. Initially a fast paced high angled tracking shot of the streets, houses and buildings are used which displays the setting; this fast tracking shot is used along with intense non diegetic music which connotes a frantic and chaotic feeling for the spectator or could be used to reflect the tone of the movie. Text then appears on the screen reading In fair Verona the type face used was sans serif in childish bubble writing, a type face which is typically associated with comic books subsequently setting the tone of the film. Again numerous fast tracking shots of the chaotic urban city with zooms are used to reinforce the opening feel of bedlam. In a wide establishing shot, we can see the positioning of the Capulet and the Montague towers showing that the two families live and or work next to each other and that they are openly in close competition with each other. Then a fast tracking shot with a contra zoom is used to get extreme close up shots of the Jesus statue then the Capulet tower and the Montague tower to a tracking shot of the surrounding areas, these types of shots ... EPO is naturally produced by the kidneys and is sensitive to the oxygen levels in the blood. Now there are more ways than one to obtain higher levels of EPO. More recently the use of hyperbaric chambers has increased in use by athletes. Hyperbaric chambers increase our oxygen intake from 25% to around 50% by forcing pure oxygen into the lungs which increases oxygen delivery, and thus recovery time is shortened ( Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for athletes , 2015). Many professional athletes have used these chambers to assist in injury recovery and recuperation after performances. We are, at once, submerged in the pulsing, driving force of supernatural fear as only Poe is able to create. With the use of the alliteration weak and weary , in addition to the internal rhyme of dreary and weary , we are instantly struck by the tone of the poem as being one of loneliness, grief and depression. In the second stanza, we are more fully enlightened to the setting from which these emotions stem. With the use of such phrases like bleak December and dying ember , Poe conveys the speakers internal state with the use of external clues. In both cases, the word choice seems to transmit feelings of isolation and misery from which the speaker wishes to find relief. And, it is here that we are first introduced to the reason for his sorrow, his lost love Lenore. It is from this base of raw emotion and desolate misery that the poem garners speed and evolves. Poe s use of symbolism is another potent tool with which he imparts the meaning and depth of the poem. First and foremost, we must decipher the significance and implication of the raven itself. The embodiment of death, the bird signifies the very issue with which the speaker is grappling. In the suggestion that the bird has come from the Night s Plutonian shore, Poe calls upon the myth of Pluto, the God of the Underworld, the land of the dead in Greek mythology. The Raven, therefore, may be thought of as a creature from the land of the dead. The corresponding relevance of this in the poem is that his loss and grief have taken on a living and ...
