Iago As A Sociopath In Shakespeare s Othello
Iago as a Sociopath in Othello Trust is fundamental to life, but knowing who to trust can be quite
difficult. Having faith in the wrong person could lead to unfortunate outcomes. In William
Shakespeare s Othello, many characters are blinded by Iago s false personality, causing them to put
their trust in someone who eventually makes them feel cheated and betrayed. After reviewing the term
sociopath, defined as, a person with a personality disorder manifesting itself in extreme antisocial
attitudes and behaviour (English Oxford), one could say that Iago has antisocial personality disorder.
The traits Iago displays throughout the play, such as his use of manipulation, his abusive behavior
toward others, his lack of remorse, and his deceitfulness make him a true sociopath. According to
Mayo Clinic, a sociopath uses charm or wit to manipulate others for personal gain or personal pleasure
(Mayo Clinic). Iago exhibits this characteristic by manipulating Roderigo for the whole duration of the
play. He traps Roderigo in his web by making empty promises and choosing his words carefully, as
seen in the following quote by Iago:
I grant indeed it hath not appeared, and your suspicion is not without wit and judgment. But,
Roderigo, if thou hast that in thee indeed, which I have greater reason to believe now than ever I mean
purpose, courage and valor this night show it. If thou the next night following enjoy not Desdemona,
take me from this world with treachery and devise engines for my life. (4.2.243 250)
In this scene, Roderigo is sceptical of Iago s plan and puts a sword to his throat. Iago swiftly
maneuvers out of this situation by telling Roderigo how his judgement is brave and now he believes
that Roderigo will do whatever it takes to get Desdemona s love. Iago says that if Roderigo does not
complete the plan, then he cannot try to kill him. The fooled Roderigo is shocked and is now
completely loyal to Iago who barely got out of this bad situation using his manipulation skills. Later in
the play, Roderigo finally recognizes that Iago has been taking advantage of him saying, O damned
Iago! O inhumane dog! (5.1.74). As seen by his constant manipulative actions and dialogue, Iago
reveals himself as a sociopath.

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. Kafala System in...
Summary
Since the introduction of Kafala system, also known as sponsorship system, in the GCC (Gulf
Cooperation Council) along with Lebanon and Jordan in Mashriq region, some serious human rights
violations have aroused. Kafala system is a sponsorship system designed to regulate and employ
migrant workers in countries compromising of GCC states (Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United
Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, Kuwait, and Sultanate of Oman), Jordan, and Lebanon.
Under the sponsorship system, a contract is signed between worker and recruitment agency for a
minimum of 2 years, in which sponsor assumes full legal and economic responsibility of the migrant,
including visa status, residence, living conditions, wages, and health ... Show more content on

However, as Qatar started its colossal preparation and constructions for FIFA World Cup 2022,
massive human rights violations were recorder by Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International,
sparkling heavy criticism and condemnation throughout the world.
In this document I will identify human rights violations in GCC countries and Lebanon under the
Kafala system and try to explore how thousands of employers abuse millions of migrant workers. I
will also document the problems of exit visa in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, scarce living conditions and
health problems of migrant workers, violence against migrant domestic workers in Lebanon, violation
of freedom in Saudi Arabia, and violation of basic labor rights in Qatar during the preparation of FIFA
World Cup 2022. I will conclude the report by identifying the violations under Intentional Law and
giving recommendations to countries which use Kafala system.
Background
Historically, the Kafala system was never intended to be the main source of exploitation and abuse of
migrants. Khan and Harroff Tavel claim in their article that, The sponsorship system is a time honored
tradition of the Bedouin principle of hospitality, which sets obligations in the treatment and protection
of foreign guests (Khan Harrof Tavel, 2011, p. 294). However, over some period of time, its purpose
and practice has dramatically changed. The necessity of Kafala system was increased after the

The Comparable And Contrastable Philosophies Of...
The Comparable and Contrastable Philosophies of Kierkegaard and Kant
In this paper, I will investigate the comparable and contrasting views of Soren Kierkegaard and
Immanuel Kant. Their extraordinary journeys towards the meaning of morality and ethics is riveting,
spiritual, universal, and in many ways, incredibly different. My conclusion is that though there are
aspects which bind their theories together, ultimately both men possess different understandings of
what morality is and how an individual ought to be moral. Kierkegaard, while exemplifying a less
structured philosophical outline embeds his theory too heavily on Christian faith. This makes it
unapproachable beyond a surface point with individuals of a different religious belief. On the other
hand, Kant exemplifies an extremely strict structure, less associated with religion, and inclusive of
universality, reason and equality. I will show how both Soren Kierkegaard and Immanuel Kant s
theories on morality contribute to the teaching of philosophy by comparing and contrasting their
views. Ultimately, this paper is intended to illustrate the superiority in the writings of Immanuel Kant
and his philosophical theory.
Danish philosopher Soren Kierkegaard, credited as the father of religious Existentialism , formed his
philosophical beliefs around Christianity bridging religiosity and morality. The ethics which emerged
from the teachings of Kierkegaard circulated around his religious upbringing. In Kierkegaard s

In my early forties, I was given a second chance to choose a career. I was laid off from my workplace
of 18 years due to a slump in the oil industry. I started working with an employment agency to perfect
my resume and come up with creative ways that my skills transferred to other industries, but my heart
wasn t in it. My job had meant to be a short term pit stop on my way to realizing my true purpose, one
that got too comfortable. This was an opportunity for me to select a meaningful career that I could be
proud of. The direction of my career change chose me, even before I took the battery of career
aptitude and personality tests offered by the employment agency. I had spent the last year battling a

A dimensional model provides a continuum with normality appearing on one end of the continuum
and severe forms of a disorder at the opposite end (Sue, Sue, Sue Sue, 2016, p.93). Using the same
Schizophrenia diagnosis to describe a high functioning doctor stabilized on her medication who has
identified her triggers and has learned coping mechanisms to deal with her auditory hallucinations and
a low functioning woman living in a long term care facility who needs help getting dressed in the
morning isn t helpful. One step in the right direction of behavioral health care is the fresh emphasis on
patient centered care. Moving away from a disease centered model allows clients to be active
participants in their treatment plan (Tempier, Hepp, Duncan, Rohr, Hachey Mosier, 2010, p. 453),
which aligns with social work s strengths perspective and empowerment of the client. Using a
comprehensive biopsychosocial model and respecting the diversity of culture and values helps to truly

Research Paper On Breaking Cosmic Ice
Breaking the Cosmic Ice
Scientists have shown that the Earth stops energetic neutrinos, according to data collected from the
IceCube array in Antarctica. High energy neutrino interactions monitored by the IceCube detector, an
array of 5,160 basketball sized optical sensors buried a mile deep in a cubic kilometer of exceptionally
clear ice near the south pole.
Neutrinos are infinitesimally small and nearly massless particles that surround us at any given
moment. Roughly one trillion from the Sun pass through a human s eyes every second, and they come
in three types (called flavors): electron, muon, and tauon neutrinos, each name corresponding to three
charged particles with which they pair. Since they interact so rarely, it s extremely ... Show more

The neutrino interactions analyzed have energies in the trillion electron volt, or TeV, range. A
mosquito puts out about one TeV. The detected neutrinos energy ranged from 6.3 TeV to 980 TeV.
Miarecki performed much of the data analysis whilst working toward her PhD as an IceCube
researcher. It s a multidisciplinary idea, she said in a news release. In order to understand if the cross
section of neutrinos detected matches Standard Model predictions, the analysis used input from
geologists who supplied models of the Earth s interior from seismic studies. With this, scientists were
able to compare their data with a simulation of neutrinos passing through the Earth.
In this study, researchers measured the flux of muon neutrinos as a function of their energy and their
incoming direction. Neutrinos with higher energies and with incoming directions closer to the North
Pole are more likely to interact with matter on their way through Earth. Image credit: IceCube

We created some of the data from seismic data bouncing off of various parts of the Earth, Miarecki
told Futurism. Putting together all the constraints, including the gravitational constriction of the Earth,
and you have a good model, she added. The bulk of detected neutrinos mass around the lower range,
with the high energy neutrinos growing scarce until the frequency of their occurrence passes beyond

Psychoanalytic Theory And Psychodynamic Theory
Psychoanalytic Theory
In this paper, I will discuss the theoretical perspective of psychoanalytic theory and discuss a few of
the theorist that helped to shape and expanded upon this theory. I will focus mainly on Sigmund
Freud, the founder of the psychodynamic approach and use his theory as the foundation to compare
other theorist perspectives. Psychoanalytic theory is based on the belief that the human mind often
represses threatening wishes or painful experiences. Repression is believed to place these painful
experiences and emotions into the unconscious mind until they resurface. I will discuss the tools that
therapists take to help their patients find insight into their repressed feeling and I will discuss the

For example, consider a newborn baby who is hungry and cries when it needs to be feed, or when it
needs to be changed. When a baby wants something, it will cry regardless of the situation and without
any consideration for others. This behavior is the result of the id and its desire to have its basic needs
meet.
As the individuals, basic needs are met and these needs become more of a want than a need, and
becomes more of a conscious thought than an unconscious one, the ego begins to form. The ego is the
rational, pragmatic part of our personality ( Freudian Psychoanalytic Theory of Personality Boundless
Open Textbook , 2016) and functions according to the reality principle. The reality principle is the
ability of the mind to be able to assess the realities of the world and act upon it in an appropriate way.
The ego acts as a mediator and will make compromises to keep the id happy; in a realistic way. The
ego has no concept of right or wrong; something is good simply if it achieves its end of satisfying
without causing harm to itself or to the id (McLeod, 1970).
As the ego struggles to keep the id happy and encounters obstacles, it keeps a record of those obstacles
and the objects that have assisted in obtaining its goals. This record of things to avoid and strategies to
take becomes the superego (Boeree, Sigmund Freud). The superego is believed to be the moral part

An Essay On The Brain By Teh Iverson
The Brain

The body could not operate without the brain. The brain controls most of the things we do. The brain
could not operate properly if all of the parts were not there. It includes many parts.
The structure of the brain is divided into three areas, other than the right brain and the left brain: the
forebrain, the midbrain, and the hindbrain. The forebrain consists of the cerebrum. The midbrain

Tattoos Senior Project
My senior project was over the History of Tattooing, I chose this as my topic because Tattoos really
interest me with all the different styles and meanings behind them. Some things I already knew about
Tattooing is a lot of tribes used tattoos to symbolize things, but I didn t know what. With my research I
expected to find a lot more upfront information, like maybe a for sure area on where they originated
and exactly how it spread, but it was so spread out it was hard for anyone to pinpoint exactly who did
them first.
Doing my senior project I found out that just doodling a Tattoo is difficult because you wouldn t want
it to be flat or too simple, so you have to really but in detail and attempt to put in depth to help your
piece come to life even before it s on skin, What I did was I put in a different color where the bottom

Adoption And Abortion In The Film Cider House Rules
In the film Cider House Rules, the doctor offers two taboo services, one that is legal and the other that
is not. The movie takes place around the early 1940 s when abortion was still illegal. Dr. Larch is a
physician that offers women the choice of adoption or abortion for babies they have decided they are
unable to keep. In many ways, adoption and abortion might seem like complete counterparts, however,
they do have a few similarities that allow them to coexist. They are each an alternative to becoming a
parent. Whichever the woman chooses, she will not be pushed into raising a child before she is ready.
Each of these allows the woman to continue to follow her career and educational goals. These goals
women have in mind won t have to be put on hold to raise a child. Both of these choices are an
emotional processes that can be challenging. While these choices may be somewhat different, neither
is an easy choice to make. Homer Wells, who is the main character, is faced with many moral
dilemmas as his life develops. Homer is an orphan who was born at the orphanage and Dr. Larch takes
him under his wing as a young boy. Dr. Larch teaches Homer to be a doctor and perform deliveries,
among various other procedures. As Homer becomes a mature physician, he makes the decision not
perform abortions because he feels it is unethical. He considers every life to be precious, and is
grateful that his mother made the decision to leave him at the orphanage instead of aborting him. I feel

It is also because Buzz is so cool; he is brand new and shiny with lots of cool gadgets. As the story
moves on Woody begins to change and realize that Buzz is not such a threat as he first assumed. He
begins to change to what he was before, leading the way and setting a good example. He helps them
get to Pizza Planet and saves Buzz from being blown up by a firework by their evil next door
neighbour, Sid.
Sid is a villainous character; he destroys toys for fun and is feared by all of the toys. Woody shows his
great leadership again when he organizes the toys in a revolt against Sid, leaving him shaken and very
scared. He is a very dark character and this is shown by his image, a black t shirt with a skull on,
scruffy hair and chipped, black teeth. His dog Scud is like a sidekick sharing Sid s hate for toys,
regularly chewing them to pieces.
The way in which the toys are represented is important as well, when there is humans around the toys
are looked down on from a higher perspective. The toys were first seen as inanimate objects, Andy s
playthings. This changes when the toys are alive , they are looked at from their perspective or from
what they are seeing. When Buzz is first seen in the bedroom the camera angle changes to give him a
look of superiority and power, the camera looks at him from a very low view and then slowly reveals

Federal Budget And The Budget
It is no secret, the federal budget is in a major deficit. The federal government continues to borrow
money to finance obligations that include Medicare, Social Security, military defense, federal salaries
and other programs. The more the government borrows; the deeper the country sinks into debt
(Krulick, 2015). As federal debt grows, the congress raises the allowable debt ceiling. The
Congressional Budget Office estimated the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was $17.3 trillion in 2014
and that the federal budget deficit was $506 billion ( Congressional Budget Office, ).
I believe the sources I have used to research this date are credible. The Congressional Budget Office
claims to be a nonpartisan agency which makes no recommendations on policy. The agency simply
analyses budgets at the congressional level. Throughout my research, all sources reported similar
information regarding the budget. It is possible the information related to the federal budget could be a
skewed statistic or propaganda from one or another political party.
I determined the data related to the federal budget to be supportive of the Republican Party. The
Republican Party potentially may have constructed inaccurate information to help solicit votes for an
upcoming election or general support of their political party. It would be in the Republican Party s
favor to suggest a higher debt than the actual debt; for the reason that politicians may emphasize the
costs of domestic welfare programs that liberals

A New Angle On Car Safety
According to Chris Urmson, 1.2 million people are killed on the world s roads every year. In America
alone, 33,000 people are killed each year (Urmson). Urmson is the Director of Self Driving Cars at
Google, and in March of 2015 he presented a TED Talk in which he addressed issues of car safety. In
his presentation, Urmson goes on to explain that for over a century, America has come up with ways
to mitigate car safety issues. Manufacturers have specifically addressed the fact that car drivers often
err, and in so doing, create unsafe conditions for themselves and others on the roads. To address this,
vehicles have been revamped to be more structurally sound, and collision safety features have been
added, such as air bags and seatbelts. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Urmson). Driverless cars also have other sensors, including four radars, a GPS, an inertial
measurement unit, and a wheel encoder. The radars detect obstacles. The GPS, inertial measurement
unit, and the wheel encoder determine where autonomous vehicles are currently and track where they
go (Guizzo). Incorporating Vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communication in self driving cars would
provide additional safety. V2V is the technology that allows cars to exchange information such as
speed, direction, location and other data with one another. This technology is also useful for vehicles
with drivers because it allows them to receive a warning of unexpected events and enables them to
react quickly, thus improving safety. For instance, if a driver ahead quickly presses the brakes, nearby
cars will get a warning that allows them to react promptly. If a car is speeding in a curve, the driver in
the car will get a warning that indicates that they re going too fast and need to slow down. Vehicle to
vehicle communication also allows roads to talk to cars about traffic jams, road work, and road
conditions. If there s black ice ahead, the driver will get a warning indicating the hazard. According to
the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there could be 600,000 fewer crashes involving

Data Collection Method
Research is defined as the organized and thorough analysis that is intended to answer questions about
nursing phenomena (LoBiondo Wood Haber, 2014). There are several different data collection
methods that are used when one is doing research design. For this discussion post I will choose a type
of data collection method and describe a scenario when it would be useful, as well as potential pitfalls
of the method. The observation method is a process of gathering data on how people act under certain
circumstances. This includes collecting data on verbal and non verbal communication, behavior, and
conditions of the environment. This is a great method to use when collecting information on different
cultures. I work on an ambulatory surgical unit and I believe this method would be useful within my
unit because we do admit patients who do not speak English from time to time. This method would
allow us to observe how non English speaking patients and their families communicate verbally, as
well as non verbally. We could study their body language and how they act with each other and the
healthcare team members. One of the downfalls to this kind of method in regards to how I would use
it on my unit, is that it would be hard to realize what the patient and family members are
communicating to one another, unless there was an interpreter present. In conclusion, there are many
different data collection methods that are used for research. Many arguments in ... Show more content

Theme Of Beloved By Toni Morrison
Beloved (1987) is a sensitive novel written by Toni Morrison a renowned Afro American author. It
deals with the forgotten era of slavery and the pathos of black slaves. The novel tells a wrenching
story of a black female slave, Sethe, who kills her own daughter to protect her from the horrors of
slavery. Morrison has excelled in creating her female characters. Her novels show a deep sense of
bonding between the female characters. In Beloved the female bonding and the multiple layer of
meaning in their relationship makes the story emotionally appealing and according to Barbara
Schapira in Contemporary Literature it is the story that, penetrates perhaps more deeply than any
historical or psychological study could, the unconscious emotional and psychic consequences of
slavery. (194). The story touches the social, psychological, philosophical and supernatural elements of
human life.
Toni Morrison is a famous Nobel Prize and Pulitzer Prize winning American novelist, editor and
professor. Her novels are known for her epic themes, vibrant dialogues and richly black characters.

How Did Henry Ford Impact The Automobile Industry
Henry Ford was the man who created the weekend and we thank him for that. Henry Ford changed the
car industry more than anyone before him. Ford was the man who started the Ford Motor Company,
the quadricycle, the Model T, and changed the way businesses run. Ford made it farther with the help
of friends, Thomas Edison who gave Ford a job at his plant. Due to all of the things that Ford did, he
impacted the car industry forever. The support in Ford s early life helped him get to the inventor he
was. Ford s parents supported him in his inventing, they gave him a little work space in a barn for him
to work on his invention. Henry Ford was born on a farm outside of Detroit, Henry was one of the

quadricycle while there. Henry decided to leave Edison s plant in 1898 to pursue his own company.
Ford sold his to finance work on a second vehicle, and a third, and so on. Ford used his money to keep
building his projects and create more things. Before leaving Edison s plant in 1898 Ford got his first

Model T was able to be produced for so long because of its investors, Charles Edgar, J.Frank Duryea,

Populist Party
With tension on the rise, American farmers continue to demand reforms to lift their burden of debt as
well as greater representation in government. Recently, with the tremendous growth in
industrialization of oil and steel, migrants have felt the difficulties associated with farming and
continue to fall into arrears.
New organizations have been formed to attempt to resolve the debt issue. One of these organizations,
calling themselves the Populist Party, is proposing economic reforms to increase the money supply.
The reforms aim to pass immigration quotas, create a federal loan program, and establish a graduated
income tax, which are all crucial for many indebted farmers. The first objective outlined on the
Populist s agenda is to place restrictions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Secondary Article #1:
Do the Railroads Help or Hurt?
Farmers are being tricked into moving West. The government is declaring that it is easy for farmers to
make a good living in the Midwest and for them to come out and reap the rewards. The government is
also promising that the railroads will allow farmers to prosper by letting them send their products all
over the nation.
But recent reports state that the railroads are profiting off of the farmers by charging more to transport
their goods than the profit the farmers are making from their products. The government has not put in
place any regulations to prevent the railroads from charging the farmers so much. Without these types
of regulations, railroad owners can set prices, no matter how high, which is affecting the farmers
livelihoods. This has led many farmers to file for bankruptcy forcing them back East.

Bowling For Columbine The Cove Analysis
The purpose of a documentary is to promote one s views or beliefs, in order to provoke change in
society. This is evident in Michael Moore s documentary Bowling for Columbine and Louie Psihoyos,
The Cove. Both documentaries manipulate the audience into taking the composers side of the
argument. Bowling for Columbine uses satirical humour and interviewing techniques to make an
extremely persuasive argument highlighting issues such as gun violence levels in America and the
Columbine High School massacre itself. Louie Psihoyos The Cove uses statistics and archival footage
to persuade the audience that dolphins are beginning unnecessarily slaughtered, and there is something
underhanded going on in Taiji, Japan.
Michael Moore s, Bowling for Columbine manipulates the viewer to believe that gun violence in
America is directly linked to the laws in place. Moore uses the satirical humour of South Park
cartoons to highlight that America was built on a foundation violence towards others and eventually
themselves. Satirical humour is endemic in scenes containing imagery of the Ku Klux Klan and The
NRA walking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

darkness, as the music is fast paced and the visuals last no longer than three seconds each, an extra
level of anonymity is added due to the videos being filmed with night vision imagery. The use of night

Social Interactions And Development During The Younger Age...
2. Social Interactions/Development While observing the younger age group, I observed many social
interactions and play. One example was EJ, a male born on 6/3/2015, who was stacking blocks with an
adult in the room. He would stack them up and knock them over each time he built a tower. I
identified this play as exploratory because he was using the tangible properties of the blocks
(Steinberg, Bornstein, Vandell, Rook, 2011). I identified his social skills as normative. He enjoyed
knocking down the blocks and thought it was funny to knock over his work. He would giggle to
himself every time he knocked them over. He also always looked at the adult s expression when
knocking the blocks over. This was another factor in identifying his normative development because
he understood he had an audience and looked for their attention (Oesterreich, 2007). 3.Emotional
Development While in the younger age group, I observed many examples of emotions. EJ, a male
born on 6/3/2015, gave me a great insight. He showed anger when Tula took his toy. He screamed and
yelled until someone paid attention to him. I assessed this as normative because many toddlers at that
age have a hard time understanding the concept of sharing. EJ showed happiness as he was running
around the room laughing and giggling. I assessed this as normative because he expressed his
emotions normally as someone would when they are happy. He also showed affection when the
teacher walked into the room by reaching for her to

Virginia Woolf Death Of The Moth
The Death of the Moth by Virginia Woolf explains the life of a moth that is centered around a role that
represents life. The theme is the mystery of death and the correspondence of the life of the moth with
the true nature of life. Death is a difficult subject for anyone to speak of but it part of life.
The Death Process, the struggling and fighting against death. It is demonstrated that death was
inevitable, humans tend to fight against death and anything in the way of the power will fail
eventually. Moths are associated with death as a symbol. The character of the moth itself is a
metaphorical reference and also the representation of Woolf s mental illnesses. The moth s battle with
death can represent the struggle Woolf had with her illnesses, the ups and downs in her own personal
battles. The acceptance of death relates to the suicide of Woolf, after many successes and failures, you
can t always keep fighting. The moral is that regardless of what happens to someone, life goes on and
the world does not stop turning. The word death is repeated many times in the last paragraph as it is
trying to emphasize that nothing can win the battle against oncoming doom. ... Show more content on

Analysis of Firebird by Stravinsky Essay
Analysis of Firebird by Stravinsky
Immediately we are introduced to the leitmotif, major and minor thirds, within a tritone. This returns
at bars 15 18 and at various other parts in the suite of which I will later elaborate. Within the opening
few bars the pizzicato and legato combined in the cello and bass section produces an ominous opening
to the work. The base drum roll and the murky off beat and horn entry at bar 5 makes it clear that it is
evil magic. One of Stravinsky s traits that often appears is how he uses tritones to represent evil
magic, e.g. f# to C, shown in bars 11 and 12, and more simple harmony and chord progressions, e.g.
dominant 7ths and 9ths to show good magic which can bee ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The bars silence leaves the audience in suspense wondering whether or not Ivan has managed to catch
the Firebird, before a certain elegance added in the variations which has a waltz like lilt to it. The high
register, quick rhythms and simple harmony represent good magic and has an uplifting feeling to it.
The imagery is quite clear of a bird teasing Ivan mocking him as he can t quite catch her. In bar 3, the
tonality becomes less clear, and a whole tone scale is used, this is yet another of Stravinsky s traits, he
pushed these boundaries where other great composers were scared to use it. Stravinsky uses the
piccolo to represent the Firebird taking to flight; this can be seen in 2 bars before figure 11. During the
coda there is a feeling of speeding up without actually doing so. The flurry of descending triplet semi
quavers could represent the Firebird falling slowly down, into Ivan s clutch.
Stravinsky s use of orchestra shows that Ivan finally manages to catch her in the pantomime.
(Pantomime used in the traditional sense, miming). The hand stopped horns in figure 20 represents
Ivan actually capturing the Firebird, there is a first inversion augmented 6th and tritones heard three
times during figure 20 this is the firebird trying to escape from Ivan s tight clutch. We hear once again
the original leitmotif in semi quavers, retrograde inverted and simply retrograde.

Criticism Of Karl Marx s Ideas Of Capitalism
Bertrand Russell once expressed that advocates of capitalism are very apt to appeal to the sacred
principles of liberty, which are embodied in one maxim: The fortunate must not be restrained in the
exercise of tyranny over the unfortunate (Russell). Even in a relatively capitalist society, there are
always criticism regarding the capitalism and its disregard for the unfortunate and the tyranny the
fortunate exert over. The foremost proponent of this antagonism would be Karl Marx, who claimed
that capitalism is ultimately hurtling toward its downfall.
The basic premise of the capitalism that Marx denied was as thus: in the modern industrialisation
inevitably creates a bipartisan system, in which the bourgeoisie, or those who are the ... Show more

This, in turn, would create a dissention from the proletariat and lead to an uprising. Marx actually
predicted that the first ones to have revolution would be the more industrialised countries.
Marx never addressed the actual capitalism we face today in his Das Kapital. Instead, he proposed a
setting of ideal capitalism, in which there are no monopolies, no unions, no special advantages for
anyone. It is a world in which every commodity sells at exactly its proper price. And that proper price
is its value (Heilbroner). The value is defined as the amount of labour it took to create that certain
merchandise. This obviously has a flaw, as if products were traded at its true value there would be no
margin of profit. The margin is produced via the discrepancy of the labour value and the value of the
actual labour performed; that is, if a labourer needs six hours of labour to survive at the rate of one
pound a day, the labourer would actually work for eight hours while being paid for only six hours.
This is because a labourer can only ask for what is due by his subsistence; he can only ask for six
pounds a day, because that is all he needs to survive. The capitalist, by owning the means of
production, can force the terms into ten our eleven hours as opposed to six, while

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Diazonuim Salts
Introduction:
Diazonuim salts are unsaturated compounds which have a trible bond.
There was a scientist his name was Griess, this scientist gave Diazo name to diazonuim salts as he
thought that two hydrogen atoms in the benzene ring will be replaced by two atoms of nitrogen.
Diazonuim salts divided into two types of salts:
Aromatic diazonuim salts and alephatic ( non aromatic) diazonuim salts.
Non aromatic salts are less important than aromatic.
Under normal conditions, diazonuim salt is highly unstable.
Dizonuim salts have some properites such as shock sensitive, decompose violenthly when heating and
they can conduct electricity, for this reason they are considered one of the electrolyte compounds.

this reaction is done by adding some compounds to the salt such as, aromatic amines, compounds
which have keton group in its structure like aceton, compounds which have OH group like phenol or
naphthalen and hetrocyclic compounds in two steps:
Step 1:

The persistence of earnings and earnings components after the adoption of IFRS Based on the research
paper of Doukakis (2010), working with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) may
impact determining earnings and earnings components. An analysis of data collected from all non
financial companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange, before and after the implementation of the
IFRS, implies that the adoption of the IFRS system does not appear to have a positive impact on
earnings. Because of the use of the IFRS for a better financial reporting and an ease in decision
making process, the utilization of other accounting procedures are restricted, which results in a
decrease in reporting accounting data. A critical observation, based on the empirical findings, suggests
that IFRS adoption has no effect on the persistence of earnings and earnings components for
profitability in future. On the other hand, the outcome of the findings, illustrates that using the IFRS
principles appears to reduce the persistence of operating income (for the year 2006) as well as the
persistence of non operating income (for the years 2005 and 2006) (Doukakis, 2010). In other words,
the study was able to prove that, although it does not entail that IFRS earnings are of a lower quality,
an immediate decline in the explanatory power of all research models occur after implementation of
IFRS.

Narrative Essay About My Butterfly
There was a time when my butterfly flew away. Before, I met a very special person. Really, my
attention was on his easy going personality, goodness and charisma. On those Summer days, the
garden was full of colored flowers. Constantly, the sun went down and the moon came out; the wind
was fresh and our hearts betrayed. After, I met with my butterfly in the back room. Automatically, he
embraced me in his warm arms; my heart shake and my desires sprouted. There were shivering and
sweating. However, inside the small chamber lusting vanished; every time, I realized, it went too far.
Every morning, he looked at me and apologized. we didn t mean to hurt anybody; it was just a magic
attraction. In many other occasions, I met with my butterfly in the back room to talk and share about
feelings.
One day, in the small alcove, my butterfly touched my neck and hair, I never met a person like you,
you are so different , he said; in a sweet and slow tone of voice. He pulled me into his arm, we
touched each other, we detailed how much we missed and loved. There was a front window, where we
walked to see the flowers in the garden. A white sheer hanged from the highest point of the wall, it
flew all around, the wind blew and the curtains fell on top of us. This is when he kissed me, ecstasy
was so high; it was difficult to stop. Silently, the flowers smell so sweet and the wind kept blowing,
while, the sheers wrapped us; we laughed and hug each other. Then, I removed the sheers from the

Space Race Pros
It is often debated whether or not the Space Race was necessary. People have viewed it as a waste of
time, money, and resources. America spent over $25 billion on the space program, equivalent to $100
billion today. Many believed that there were far more pressing matters on Earth, and that they should
not explore space. Those people only saw the disadvantages that it had (Biddle, 2009). However, the
Space Race was beneficial to humanity in various ways. Today Americans can use the knowledge

The Principles Of Goal Setting Applied
How are the Principles of Goal Setting Applied in this Case
The case study incorporates the multiple perspectives, including the industry, organizational, and
employee based remodeling tools (Layman, 2011), which may help the management of HIS domain to
properly set goals which are meaningful, considerate and are in alignment with the department s
strategic goals, objectives and mission. In addition the study also provides three levels of
consideration while devising efficient and effective goals to optimize the performance, process and
work dynamics of jobs and responsibilities. These include the hard side of organizational theory
dynamics including specialization, departmentalization, unity of command, and span of control, soft
side of organizational behavior and employee motivation (Layman, 2011) including nature and type of
job tasks, jobs characteristics and demands, and their contextual factors (Layman, 2011) which help
organizations to effectively align its strategic values with the job and work redesign models.
All these critical aspects provide the management with the important tools to consider while
redesigning the processes which require the employees to set efficient and achievable goals to
accomplish the requirements of the ever evolving nature of HIS department processes.
Further the weighing in factors (Layman, 2011), of choosing different courses of action as per the

I live in Grand Rapids, MI because I have always loved the city, but most of all, all the opportunities it

There`s Always Laughter to Life
There`s always laughter to life Understanding life and why things happen is impossible. Life is like a
game, accepting the things that life throws at us is the challenge. For some, giving up is the key to life.
For others it`s important to look at the bright side of life and live on. Nick Hornby tackles very serious
issues in his novels Slam and A Long Way Down. However, he addresses the topics in a more comic
manner which creates a more appealing and effective story. In both novels, Hornby takes on serious
issues in today`s society. Although lessons are to be learned about these issues, he takes a funny
approach to telling the story. In Slam, several issues arise with a 16 year old boy. The first big issue he
discusses is teen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But something happened (Hornby, Slam 61). He gives a great deal of detail of what has happened, and
even puts emotion into what he is saying to a reader. Although Sam is usually calm, he gets rather
angry when his mother brings up his birth, Yeah, yeah. It f***** up your life (Hornby Slam 59). This
is quite ironic, because Sam believes her life is messed up due to an early baby. However, although an
accident, Sam is planning on having a child with Alicia at the age of 16 as well. Hornby uses these
parallels to create a comic image in his readers mind. Alicia s parents play a strong role in Sam s life.
Hornby uses them as the stereotypical strict parents. Andrea, a counsellor becomes very upset about
the pregnancy. Robert Burns, a college professor is furious about the pregnancy. This puts extra
pressure on Sam and his struggles. Hornby uses the parents to create some controversy, which is
another great comedy technique. Squires 4 Characters in A Long Way Down are very diverse. Hornby
relates to every character in a way, I have a disabled son of my own, and there are lots of things in her
that I m clued into (Hornby). When able to relate to characters in your own novel, it s easy to joke
about things you may have experienced yourself as an author. Hornby does a great job with character

  • 2. Iago As A Sociopath In Shakespeare s Othello Iago as a Sociopath in Othello Trust is fundamental to life, but knowing who to trust can be quite difficult. Having faith in the wrong person could lead to unfortunate outcomes. In William Shakespeare s Othello, many characters are blinded by Iago s false personality, causing them to put their trust in someone who eventually makes them feel cheated and betrayed. After reviewing the term sociopath, defined as, a person with a personality disorder manifesting itself in extreme antisocial attitudes and behaviour (English Oxford), one could say that Iago has antisocial personality disorder. The traits Iago displays throughout the play, such as his use of manipulation, his abusive behavior toward others, his lack of remorse, and his deceitfulness make him a true sociopath. According to Mayo Clinic, a sociopath uses charm or wit to manipulate others for personal gain or personal pleasure (Mayo Clinic). Iago exhibits this characteristic by manipulating Roderigo for the whole duration of the play. He traps Roderigo in his web by making empty promises and choosing his words carefully, as seen in the following quote by Iago: I grant indeed it hath not appeared, and your suspicion is not without wit and judgment. But, Roderigo, if thou hast that in thee indeed, which I have greater reason to believe now than ever I mean purpose, courage and valor this night show it. If thou the next night following enjoy not Desdemona, take me from this world with treachery and devise engines for my life. (4.2.243 250) In this scene, Roderigo is sceptical of Iago s plan and puts a sword to his throat. Iago swiftly maneuvers out of this situation by telling Roderigo how his judgement is brave and now he believes that Roderigo will do whatever it takes to get Desdemona s love. Iago says that if Roderigo does not complete the plan, then he cannot try to kill him. The fooled Roderigo is shocked and is now completely loyal to Iago who barely got out of this bad situation using his manipulation skills. Later in the play, Roderigo finally recognizes that Iago has been taking advantage of him saying, O damned Iago! O inhumane dog! (5.1.74). As seen by his constant manipulative actions and dialogue, Iago reveals himself as a sociopath. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Comparable And Contrastable Philosophies Of... The Comparable and Contrastable Philosophies of Kierkegaard and Kant In this paper, I will investigate the comparable and contrasting views of Soren Kierkegaard and Immanuel Kant. Their extraordinary journeys towards the meaning of morality and ethics is riveting, spiritual, universal, and in many ways, incredibly different. My conclusion is that though there are aspects which bind their theories together, ultimately both men possess different understandings of what morality is and how an individual ought to be moral. Kierkegaard, while exemplifying a less structured philosophical outline embeds his theory too heavily on Christian faith. This makes it unapproachable beyond a surface point with individuals of a different religious belief. On the other hand, Kant exemplifies an extremely strict structure, less associated with religion, and inclusive of universality, reason and equality. I will show how both Soren Kierkegaard and Immanuel Kant s theories on morality contribute to the teaching of philosophy by comparing and contrasting their views. Ultimately, this paper is intended to illustrate the superiority in the writings of Immanuel Kant and his philosophical theory. Danish philosopher Soren Kierkegaard, credited as the father of religious Existentialism , formed his philosophical beliefs around Christianity bridging religiosity and morality. The ethics which emerged from the teachings of Kierkegaard circulated around his religious upbringing. In Kierkegaard s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

High energy neutrino interactions monitored by the IceCube detector, an array of 5,160 basketball sized optical sensors buried a mile deep in a cubic kilometer of exceptionally clear ice near the south pole. Neutrinos are infinitesimally small and nearly massless particles that surround us at any given moment. A mosquito puts out about one TeV. The detected neutrinos energy ranged from 6.3 TeV to 980 TeV. Miarecki performed much of the data analysis whilst working toward her PhD as an IceCube researcher. It s a multidisciplinary idea, she said in a news release. In order to understand if the cross section of neutrinos detected matches Standard Model predictions, the analysis used input from geologists who supplied models of the Earth s interior from seismic studies. With this, scientists were able to compare their data with a simulation of neutrinos passing through the Earth. In this study, researchers measured the flux of muon neutrinos as a function of their energy and their incoming direction. Neutrinos with higher energies and with incoming directions closer to the North Pole are more likely to interact with matter on their way through Earth. The movie takes place around the early 1940 s when abortion was still illegal. Dr. Larch is a physician that offers women the choice of adoption or abortion for babies they have decided they are unable to keep. In many ways, adoption and abortion might seem like complete counterparts, however, they do have a few similarities that allow them to coexist. They are each an alternative to becoming a parent. Whichever the woman chooses, she will not be pushed into raising a child before she is ready. Each of these allows the woman to continue to follow her career and educational goals. These goals women have in mind won t have to be put on hold to raise a child. Both of these choices are an emotional processes that can be challenging. • 16. Federal Budget And The Budget It is no secret, the federal budget is in a major deficit. The federal government continues to borrow money to finance obligations that include Medicare, Social Security, military defense, federal salaries and other programs. The more the government borrows; the deeper the country sinks into debt (Krulick, 2015). As federal debt grows, the congress raises the allowable debt ceiling. The Congressional Budget Office estimated the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was $17.3 trillion in 2014 and that the federal budget deficit was $506 billion ( Congressional Budget Office, ). I believe the sources I have used to research this date are credible. The Congressional Budget Office claims to be a nonpartisan agency which makes no recommendations on policy. The agency simply analyses budgets at the congressional level. Throughout my research, all sources reported similar information regarding the budget. It is possible the information related to the federal budget could be a skewed statistic or propaganda from one or another political party. I determined the data related to the federal budget to be supportive of the Republican Party. The Republican Party potentially may have constructed inaccurate information to help solicit votes for an upcoming election or general support of their political party. Incorporating Vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communication in self driving cars would provide additional safety. V2V is the technology that allows cars to exchange information such as speed, direction, location and other data with one another. This technology is also useful for vehicles with drivers because it allows them to receive a warning of unexpected events and enables them to react quickly, thus improving safety. For instance, if a driver ahead quickly presses the brakes, nearby cars will get a warning that allows them to react promptly. If a car is speeding in a curve, the driver in the car will get a warning that indicates that they re going too fast and need to slow down. Vehicle to vehicle communication also allows roads to talk to cars about traffic jams, road work, and road conditions. If there s black ice ahead, the driver will get a warning indicating the hazard. There are several different data collection methods that are used when one is doing research design. For this discussion post I will choose a type of data collection method and describe a scenario when it would be useful, as well as potential pitfalls of the method. The observation method is a process of gathering data on how people act under certain circumstances. This includes collecting data on verbal and non verbal communication, behavior, and conditions of the environment. This is a great method to use when collecting information on different cultures. One of the downfalls to this kind of method in regards to how I would use it on my unit, is that it would be hard to realize what the patient and family members are communicating to one another, unless there was an interpreter present. I identified this play as exploratory because he was using the tangible properties of the blocks (Steinberg, Bornstein, Vandell, Rook, 2011). I identified his social skills as normative. He enjoyed knocking down the blocks and thought it was funny to knock over his work. He would giggle to himself every time he knocked them over. He also always looked at the adult s expression when knocking the blocks over. This was another factor in identifying his normative development because he understood he had an audience and looked for their attention (Oesterreich, 2007). 3.Emotional Development While in the younger age group, I observed many examples of emotions. EJ, a male born on 6/3/2015, gave me a great insight. He showed anger when Tula took his toy. He screamed and yelled until someone paid attention to him. I assessed this as normative because many toddlers at that age have a hard time understanding the concept of sharing. EJ showed happiness as he was running around the room laughing and giggling. I assessed this as normative because he expressed his emotions normally as someone would when they are happy. He also showed affection when the teacher walked into the room by reaching for her to ... • 25. Virginia Woolf Death Of The Moth The Death of the Moth by Virginia Woolf explains the life of a moth that is centered around a role that represents life. The theme is the mystery of death and the correspondence of the life of the moth with the true nature of life. Death is a difficult subject for anyone to speak of but it part of life. The Death Process, the struggling and fighting against death. It is demonstrated that death was inevitable, humans tend to fight against death and anything in the way of the power will fail eventually. Moths are associated with death as a symbol. The character of the moth itself is a metaphorical reference and also the representation of Woolf s mental illnesses. The moth s battle with death can represent the struggle Woolf had with her illnesses, the ups and downs in her own personal battles. The acceptance of death relates to the suicide of Woolf, after many successes and failures, you can t always keep fighting. The moral is that regardless of what happens to someone, life goes on and the world does not stop turning. The word death is repeated many times in the last paragraph as it is trying to emphasize that nothing can win the battle against oncoming doom. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, compared to the oncoming doom , even the large and strong outside world was fragile and insignificant, let alone the little moth. • 26. Analysis of Firebird by Stravinsky Essay Analysis of Firebird by Stravinsky Immediately we are introduced to the leitmotif, major and minor thirds, within a tritone. This returns at bars 15 18 and at various other parts in the suite of which I will later elaborate. Within the opening few bars the pizzicato and legato combined in the cello and bass section produces an ominous opening to the work. The base drum roll and the murky off beat and horn entry at bar 5 makes it clear that it is evil magic. One of Stravinsky s traits that often appears is how he uses tritones to represent evil magic, e.g. f# to C, shown in bars 11 and 12, and more simple harmony and chord progressions, e.g. dominant 7ths and 9ths to show good magic which can bee ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The bars silence leaves the audience in suspense wondering whether or not Ivan has managed to catch the Firebird, before a certain elegance added in the variations which has a waltz like lilt to it. The high register, quick rhythms and simple harmony represent good magic and has an uplifting feeling to it. The imagery is quite clear of a bird teasing Ivan mocking him as he can t quite catch her. In bar 3, the tonality becomes less clear, and a whole tone scale is used, this is yet another of Stravinsky s traits, he pushed these boundaries where other great composers were scared to use it. Stravinsky uses the piccolo to represent the Firebird taking to flight; this can be seen in 2 bars before figure 11. During the coda there is a feeling of speeding up without actually doing so. The flurry of descending triplet semi quavers could represent the Firebird falling slowly down, into Ivan s clutch. Stravinsky s use of orchestra shows that Ivan finally manages to catch her in the pantomime. (Pantomime used in the traditional sense, miming). The hand stopped horns in figure 20 represents Ivan actually capturing the Firebird, there is a first inversion augmented 6th and tritones heard three times during figure 20 this is the firebird trying to escape from Ivan s tight clutch. We hear once again the original leitmotif in semi quavers, retrograde inverted and simply retrograde. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Criticism Of Karl Marx s Ideas Of Capitalism Bertrand Russell once expressed that advocates of capitalism are very apt to appeal to the sacred principles of liberty, which are embodied in one maxim: The fortunate must not be restrained in the exercise of tyranny over the unfortunate (Russell). Even in a relatively capitalist society, there are always criticism regarding the capitalism and its disregard for the unfortunate and the tyranny the fortunate exert over. The foremost proponent of this antagonism would be Karl Marx, who claimed that capitalism is ultimately hurtling toward its downfall. The basic premise of the capitalism that Marx denied was as thus: in the modern industrialisation inevitably creates a bipartisan system, in which the bourgeoisie, or those who are the ... Marx actually predicted that the first ones to have revolution would be the more industrialised countries. Marx never addressed the actual capitalism we face today in his Das Kapital. Instead, he proposed a setting of ideal capitalism, in which there are no monopolies, no unions, no special advantages for anyone. It is a world in which every commodity sells at exactly its proper price. And that proper price is its value (Heilbroner). The value is defined as the amount of labour it took to create that certain merchandise. This obviously has a flaw, as if products were traded at its true value there would be no margin of profit. The margin is produced via the discrepancy of the labour value and the value of the actual labour performed; that is, if a labourer needs six hours of labour to survive at the rate of one pound a day, the labourer would actually work for eight hours while being paid for only six hours. This is because a labourer can only ask for what is due by his subsistence; he can only ask for six pounds a day, because that is all he needs to survive. The capitalist, by owning the means of production, can force the terms into ten our eleven hours as opposed to six, while ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The persistence of earnings and earnings components after the adoption of IFRS Based on the research paper of Doukakis (2010), working with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) may impact determining earnings and earnings components. An analysis of data collected from all non financial companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange, before and after the implementation of the IFRS, implies that the adoption of the IFRS system does not appear to have a positive impact on earnings. Because of the use of the IFRS for a better financial reporting and an ease in decision making process, the utilization of other accounting procedures are restricted, which results in a decrease in reporting accounting data. A critical observation, based on the empirical findings, suggests that IFRS adoption has no effect on the persistence of earnings and earnings components for profitability in future. On the other hand, the outcome of the findings, illustrates that using the IFRS principles appears to reduce the persistence of operating income (for the year 2006) as well as the persistence of non operating income (for the years 2005 and 2006) (Doukakis, 2010). In other words, the study was able to prove that, although it does not entail that IFRS earnings are of a lower quality, an immediate decline in the explanatory power of all research models occur after implementation of IFRS. A white sheer hanged from the highest point of the wall, it flew all around, the wind blew and the curtains fell on top of us. This is quite ironic, because Sam believes her life is messed up due to an early baby. However, although an accident, Sam is planning on having a child with Alicia at the age of 16 as well.
