The internet revenue earned by Marks and Spencer Group plc reached £ 100 million in the year 2007
(Anon A, 2011). This strategic decision will also be discussed in more detail later in this report. As a
final significant event on the company timeline, in November 2009 it was announced Marc Bolland
would take over as Executive Chairman from Stuart Rose in early 2010.
M amp;S outlined their strategic plan between 2010 and 2015 and thus the strategy changes chosen in
this report will partly follow this.

Strategy Definition
Before the individual strategic changes are described and evaluated, it is necessary to fully understand
the definition of the term strategy and strategic management.
The flame of competition has changed from he smokey yellow to intense white heat. For companies to
survive and prosper they will have to have a vision, a mission and strategy (Johnson, 2001). The use
of strategy in this well known quote from the Chief Executive of Lloyds TSB Peter Elwood shows the
importance strategic decisions plan in the modern era for organisations. To supplement this, strategy is
theoretically defined as the direction and scope of an organisation over the long term, which achieves
advantages in a changing environment through its configuration of resources and competences with
the aim of fulfilling stakeholder expectations (Johnson et al., 2005). According to this definition, the

Range Of Motion
Range of motion refers to the full potential movement of a joint. This movement typically comprises
the range of flexion and extension along a particular axis. Limited range of motion is caused by a
decline in a joints ability to move like it should. This is caused by pain, swelling, or stiffness in the
joint area. A goniometer is a tool that is used by therapists to measure the range of motion of a joint in
a client s body. This is done by the therapist placing the center of the goniometer on the joint that is
being evaluated. Next, the therapist aligns the main arm of the goniometer with the trunk of the client
s body while moving the measuring arm with the client s arm or leg as they flex or extend their limb.

I have personally witnessed many times that an occupational therapist used these techniques to assess
their client. Not only does this measurement let the therapist know how much the client is improving
over time, but it can also build confidence in the client by knowing that the work they are putting into
therapy is paying off. Recording a client s range of motion is a good way to keep track of what stage
of the recovery process the client may be in. Many times a client will go to an occupational therapist,
because they cannot complete their full range of motion without experiencing pain or fatigue.
Through my research, I was surprised to see how many different types of tools there are available for
testing range of motion and other therapy related tests. I learned a small amount about a Baseline
Wrist Inclinometer, a Baseline AcuAngle Inclinometer, and a Baseline Scoliometer. Although not all
of these tools measure the range of motion, they are still fun to learn about. I look forward to learning
more hands on techniques throughout this

Research Paper On Homo Sapien Animals
Jordan Woltjer 8/28/2016 The Homo Sapien species has existed for 60 to 120 thousand years. Only
during the last ten thousand years have humans existed in civilizations, with a multitude of differing
forms that underwent development patterns often as a result of interaction with foreign societies.
Because humans have existed in a wide variety of structural contexts, it becomes exceedingly difficult
to derive universal human attributes that can be used to produce a theorem of human nature. The
difficulty lies in that the varying forms of human socialization and institutions profoundly influence
the value systems of the societal occupants. Thus, humans operate and think differently in different
societies. For example, in modern liberal market

What Is The Role Of Coal Miners In The 1930 s
their conviction, it was the striking miners who negotiated with the coal operators. Dan Moar
represented the miners and was successful in signing a temporary agreement.
5. The coal miners were paid 25 cents for, every ton of coal that they dug, hand loaded on coal cars
and pushed to the main shaft. An experienced miner who worked hard during his 10 hour shift, was
given an opportunity to earn $1.60. The collection of rocks, clay and small sized coal reduced a miner
s pay. Miners were also forced to do extra work such as laying tracks, pumping water, timbering and
clearing roof falls that were not part of the pay.
6. The living conditions of the miners were worse in comparison to their work environments. Among
many, there were only two mines that had shower facilities for its workers. The miners and their
families referred the mine houses, as hovels in comparison to the village of Bienfait as they were
forced to live in them so as to maintain the status of a permanent employee that guaranteed work for
the miner. The houses were shacks with no lighting, insulation, or plumbing and were often infested

The timeline of the events that occurred before, during and after the Estevan strike of 1931:
 In 1931, there were many people across Canada that were struggling through the Depression. In
Bienfait, Saskatchewan, coal miners were facing a similar struggle. At that time, the price of coal was
lower than it had been in recent years, and the mine workers were facing unsafe working conditions
and lower wages. As new strips of mine opened in Saskatchewan, many workers were faced with a
wage cut of up to 15 percent.
 In July and August of 1931, groups of mine workers secretly gathered to discuss how to resolve the
concerns regarding unsafe working conditions, wage cuts and to how to form a local organization.
 The miners appealed to the Trades and Labour Congress of Canada, anticipating that they would
help them establish a union, but their requests were

An 46 Year Old Male With Chest Pain
Scholarly Assignment on an 46 year old male with chest pain Chest pains is one of the most common
reasons for presentation to the emergency department (Czarnecki, Wang, Tu, Lee, Schull, Lau,
Farkouh, Wijeysundera, Ko, 2014, p. 289). It can be cause by various conditions, including mild to
chronic diseases or illnesses, viruses, strokes or heart attacks. Subjective A middle aged, 46 year old
male patient is complaining of chest pain, upon being brought to the urgent clinic. He recalls that he
was in his backyard laying down new large, heavy stones for his new backyard patio. He works at a
sedentary office job, and lives a sedentary lifestyle. The patient also complains of shortness of breath
and indigestion, as he did not intake as much food that is need for an average male. He also suffers
from asthma and GERD. Reviewing this data, the nurse can get more subjective data from the patient
if they would to ask specific questions to obtain a complete health history like, when did the pain
start? Does it hurt more if you touch it? Does this type of pain usually occur? How often does the pain
occur? Where exactly on your chest does the pain occur? Is the pain superficial or deep? Does the pain
feel like it is dull, sharp, or throbbing? On a scale of one to ten how would you rate your pain? What
were you doing at the time the pain started? You say you have not eaten much today, but can you
please tell me what you did eat? What was the list of foods you ate in the last 24 hours?

Teaching As A Brilliant Lesson Essay
In the past I thought that teaching a brilliant lesson would help students to learn, but I have gradually
realised that didactic teaching has little or no impact on the majority of our students. It is a sad truism
that a significant number of our students are uninterested and resistant to learning, possibly due to
their own previous experiences, peer pressure and the nature of influences outside of the classroom.
My concern as a teacher of these students has been to identify strategies that can be used to facilitate
their learning, improve their self confidence and persuade them that learning is something worthwhile
for them.
One of the implicit aims of our school is to increase the aspirations of our students; to help them
obtain the qualifications they need to achieve their life goals and so help them and their families
improve their life chances (see appendix 1). So given that our aim is to increase the aspirations of our
students; to help them obtain the qualifications they need to achieve their life goals ; the question we
must ask is how can we do this ?
I am increasing drawn to the ideas of Vygotsky (Fisher, 2005: 210; Minton, 2012: 15 17) who in the
1960s, along with others, challenged the notion of inborn intelligence prevalent up to the 1950s,
leading to the still evolving idea that we all can grow in intelligence by improving our cognitive and
meta cognitive skills, learning how to learn (Fisher, 2005: 210). As a result of scientists describing

Causes And Effects Of Alcoholism
Cause and effects of Alcoholism
Alcoholism has become prevalent throughout time in History. This affliction has brought about several
negative effects to the users as well as America s society in general. Such effects include brain damage
or organ failure, separation from family and eventually death. It is not easy to tell if a person abuses
alcohol until much later. Alcohol abuse calls for total attention because of the violence related risks it
symbolizes in society. Despite alcohol s acute harmful consequences, people have continued to abuse
alcohol and become addicts. Alcohol related problems are associated with several factors in
establishing the effect that alcoholism has on individuals, family relations, and the public. Alcohol
abuse imposes profound suffering to individuals and family members, which may contribute to
conflicts, domestic violence, child neglect, irresponsibility, and immaturity, as well as many other
overall health problems.
Many people venture towards alcohol which in turn leads up to alcoholism. This occurs due to their
influence from others, whether it be from, their peers, friends, or family members. According to Tom
Price recognizes in his article, Alcohol Abuse. , children who live in a family with people who abuse
alcohol have a natural inclination to abuse alcohol themselves, and begin drinking thus predisposing
them to abuse alcohol. Alcohol abuse is thought to be useful in relieving stress. When people are
mentally depressed, they try

Hybrid Body On Frame Sport Utility Vehicles
The second generation Armada has sailed into port.
Few manufacturers build full size, traditional body on frame sport utility vehicles these days. Count
Nissan among the few.
Among mainstream brands, the Nissan Armada, Toyota Sequoia, GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe, and
the Ford Expedition are your choices. Of the five, the Armada is the newest name, but for several
years it was the oldest moniker in terms of product age.
That s all changed now as the 2017 Nissan Armada is out, the second generation of this big eight
passenger SUV.
Derived From the Nissan Patrol
The first generation model was built from 2004 to 2016 and was underpinned by the same platform
powering the Nissan Titan pickup truck. The Titan itself is all new for 2017, but ... Show more content

All New Endurance Engine
The all new Armada shares the same 5.6 liter, V8 gasoline engine found in the Titan and Titan XD.
Known as Endurance, the engine is the same size as the previous V8, but otherwise it, too, is new.
Nissan says the beefy V8 is outfitted with variable valve event lift (VVEL) technology for improved
response and performance. Further, Nissan enhanced throttle response by controlling the intake valve
and also employs direct injection gas technology.
Where the previous engine created 317 horsepower and 385 pound feet of torque, the latest engine
makes 390 horsepower and 401 pound feet of torque. Nissan rounds out the powertrain with a seven
speed automatic transmission.
Powerful, Expressive Exterior
Without getting lost in the details, Nissan combined elements from its other vehicles to develop the
new Armada s exterior. To begin, the grille offers a familiar look, one advanced by the popular
Pathfinder crossover. While the headlamp assembly is similar to the Titan s, it offers its own look. The
lower grille or air intake is unique, coming in wider and longer than the pickup truck line.
The truck s frontal presentation is muscular, with a sculpted hood not unlike the Titan s. So, what you
have here is a combination of existing and new Nissan elements to establish the Armada s face.
Front to back this SUV is burly. Nissan went easy on

Our hero has decided to stick to his moral compass and keep fighting crime, which unfortunately leads
to Rachels death. The Joker has kidnapped Rachel and Harvey in two separate buildings strapped to a
warehouse sized bomb. Batman has to decide between love and law, and he chooses to save Harvey, as
Rachel dies in the timed explosion. 7. Apostasies Batman, having faced death numerous amounts of
times, has become more than just a human. He is able to fight evil, like never before and he is
rewarded, often by glorification. However, this is where the story plot messes with our minds a little
bit, because it isn t Bruce Wayne who receives the reward of glorification; it is Harvey who attains
that feeling. The Joker issues an ultimatum that people will die each day unless Batman reveals his
identity; as a result, Bruce plans to reveal his identity, but Harvey Dent instead names himself as
Batman to protect the truth. Batman encounters more decisions to make; he must sacrifice himself to
the city he loves. He merely must become the villain, in order for true peace to exist in Gotham. 8.
Refusal Of Return Having reached his goals, having saved his people, Batman doesn t see a need to
return to normal life and pain. When The Dark Knight Rises story begins, Bruce Wayne is now a deep
hiding in his manor. A source of stories and tales suggest tales of him being messed up and disfigured.

Bilingual Observation Report
New fossils of our species were unearthed from Morocco that makes the evidence soar past about
100,000 years.
The bones, about 300,000 years old, were discovered thousands of miles from the previous record
holder, unearthed in fossil rich eastern Africa. The new discovery tells more about our ancient people
with a mix of modern and more primitive qualities.
They are not just like us, said Jean Jacques Hublin, one of the scientists reporting the find. But they
had basically the face you could meet on the train in New York.
The Moroccan fossils unearthed suggest that Homo sapiens may have experienced our own one in any
place in Africa, said Hublin, of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig,
Germany, and the College ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The discovery could explain the theory of evolution of our spices. Chris Stringer and Julia Galway
Witham of the Natural History Museum in London released in a Nature commentary.
In the last 300,000 years, the main story is the change of the brain, Hublin said.
Some experts who didn t take part in the discovery called that idea attainable despite the fact it was
not explained. John Shea, However, who is an anthropologist at Stony Brook University in New York,
said it s better to think of the different local people as a single one.
These are parts of a network, through which ideas and genes flowed, he said.
Shea said it was possible to unearth such old traces of early Homo sapiens in northwestern Africa.
However, finding them there does not mean that our species first made an appearance there.
When it comes to evidence for human origins in north west Africa versus Eastern Africa versus
southern Africa, it s a tie, he wrote in an email.
Richard Potts of the Smithsonian Institution s National Museum of Natural History said the Morocco
fossils appear to reflect the very early transition to Homo sapiens, very possibly denoting the outset of
the lineage to which all people

Coming To America Passage Analysis
Welcoming. Belonging. Sense of Purpose. Everyone wants that. Without it we feel naked, incomplete.
Ultimately, it is what mankind really strives for. While food, water, and shelter are important, there is
no purpose to life without that sense of belonging. Kao and her family never really felt belonged
anywhere, and they struggled to feel a sense of purpose in their home .
My favorite passage in the book, is when Kao is telling her story of her adjustment of coming to
America. This passage is part of the third section of the book, The American Years. In the section, Kao
and her family had just arrived in their new tiny home in Saint Paul, Minnesota. While they had
training of what to expect from America, it did not prepare them well enough for what was to come.

In the passage, Kao says, For the first year and a half, we wanted to be invisible (112). This is my
favorite passage because it is really jaw dropping to see that after all Kao and her family had been
through they wanted to stay invisible in America for the first year and a half that they were afraid of
being who they are, Hmong. Back in their old home they were accustomed to frequent bombings,
disease, malnourishment, and so much physical pain. But here, their biggest fear being in the US is the
hatred and racism that is targeted on them. Day after day it s a struggle for Kao s family. For many
immigrants, America has always been projected as the Golden Gate . A place where one would no
longer struggle for their family and if you worked hard enough one can accomplish anything.
Malnourishment, clean air, and safety would no longer keep you up at night. And at the start of Kao s
American journey, it was hard to see if any positive opportunity would arise. But it would, as they
didn t let the hard work or racism get to them. Kao s parents would

To What Extent Did The Union Win The Civil War
The Union s layout for winning the war included several main strategies. Utilizing its superior navy,
the North would blockade Southern ports to prevent supplies from reaching the South, as well as to
impede the South from earning revenue by exporting cotton. Cotton remained a significant factory in
the establishment of slavery and South s agricultural economic system. Raw materials, especially
cotton were shipped to a textile mill in the North but the majority of what the South produced was
exported. Gaining control of the Mississippi River was another significant and necessary Union
strategy as it would fracture Southern lines. Finally, the North planned to capture Richmond, the
Confederate capital. The South s primary aim was to maintain

The exceptionally intriguing point I find about the entire Web 2.0 development is that in one specific
viewpoint, it s extremely just the same old thing new. In the 70 s the innovation boffins were urgently
attempting to make tracks in an opposite direction from the centralized server/idiotic terminal

organisations exist and function within society and consequently are subject to a variety of social
influences. These influences, which include demography, social class and culture, can change over
time and affect both the demand and supply side of the economy. Marketing organisations recognise
and make use of these factors when segmenting markets for consumer goods and service Worthington,
I (2009) p.135. The social demand for chocolate varies for several reasons. One of which is a change
in the level of the population. The population of the UK is aging, people are living longer and there

because of people living longer there are fewer children, which is the main consumer for the chocolate

has increased consumer awareness and is affecting the decisions that are made in respect to the foods
they are purchasing. People will not just buy anything that is on offer but will look for healthier

Rhetorical Devices In Julius Caesar s Speech
In Shakespeare s play of Julius Caesar, Rhetoric is the art of convincing and persuading people by
language through public speaking which is used in Julius Caesar s speeches. These devices are used in
Brutus and Antony statements throughout the play. Brutus is a conspirator who kills Caesar since he
fears that he will have too much power over Rome and its people. In comparison, Marc Antony is the
closest friend and most trusted to Caesar, who persuades the people of Rome against Conspirators for
killing Caesar. (Thesis statement) Brutus appeals to logic when he explains his actions in Caesar
funeral, where as Antony appeals to emotions, playing with the audience feelings to seek justice upon
the conspirators. Brutus gives a speech to the people of Rome to explain his reasoning in killing
Caesar by using logic. He claims that he killed Caesar because he loves Rome and fears for well being
of the people since Caesar was an ambitious man. Brutus expresses feelings by saying Had you rather
have Caesar were living, and die all slaves/ than that Caesar were dead to live all free men? (III.I.175).
Brutus uses rhetorical questions to make a point to the audience of saying that Rome is better without
Caesar because Caesar if he was alive they would all be slaves since Caesar would have ultimate
power and control. Brutus showing facts to the people of Rome, Brutus s argument becomes
influential to win over the audience. Throughout his Aboelfoul|2 speech, he calls Caesar ambitious

The Aryan Brotherhood, The Guerilla Family, And The...
Abstract
Prison gang/security threat groups are growing and impacting penitentiary s around the world in a
negative way. The Aryan Brotherhood, The Guerilla Family, and the Mexican Mafia are three of many
powerful and efficient gangs that flourished in a California prison. Each of these gangs has its own
differences and have a long term history that explains to the reader how these gangs started their
record of criminal acts such as murder, drug trafficking, etc. Correctional staff main goal is to
minimize the violence that come with the prison gangs. It is concluded that the best way to control
gang violence is through separation of members and enemies. Whether if it s through transporting
members to other prisons or through segregation. Studies have shown these findings may not always
be effective because of the growth of prison gangs and the unique ways of communicating with other
inmates in prison and on the outside world.
Prison Gangs and Security Threat Groups
Prison gangs are flourishing in modern prisons throughout the U.S. every day. Every gang has its own
way to distinguish themselves from other gangs. Colors, symbols, hand signs, race, and tattoos are
some of the characteristics gangs use to identify which gang each member belongs to. The increase in
gang activity has been a growing concern to correctional facilities because prison gangs ultimately put
staff and non members safety at risk. Gangs, such as the Aryan Brotherhood, Mexican

The battle of Verdun was one of the bloodies battles in WW1, in fact it was one of the bloodiest battles
in world history up to that point. It was also the longest battle of WW1 lasting at around 10 months (In

Falkenhayn (Intro to the documents at the top of the page). He states that the key to winning the war
did not rely on the Eastern Front against Russia, but rather on the Western front (First paragraph in

Germany (End of first paragraph).
The battle lasted from February 21st, to December 18, 1916 (In class notes).

What Is The Positive Impact Of The Stock Market Crash Of 1929
In the years leading up to 1929, the American economy was thriving and stock trade sales were at their
highest peak. The majority of people were thriving in this newfound success, and had been constantly
building off their fortunes. The people of the United States had never lived through such a time, so
experiencing this for the first time they were ignorant of any negative effects that could occur. They
never would have expected the economy to undergo such a drastic change in such a short period of
time. According to credible sources, the unemployment that resulted from the Stock Market Crash of
1929 impacted choices and caused financial anxiety and panic. American in the 1920 s continuously
celebrated and relied on economic prosperity, ignoring the negative aspects of putting all their
attention on the present time in the article Bernard Baruch s Own Story by Bernard Baruch, a first
notion of an imminent market crash was described as, To most people it seemed as though prosperity
would never end, that everyone would simply go on making and spending more and more money
(Baruch 2). They were pushing their possible doubts outside of their minds to focus on the all too
obvious positive impacts of the thriving economy. Furthermore, in the article Firing, Not Hiring by
Nancy Hayes, it states, People had started buying things such as refrigerators on credit: they didn t
have the money on hand to pay for these goods, but they agreed to make regular future payments.

The Immortal Life Of Henrietta Lacks Summary
Objectivity is an important factor in the world of journalism. Some journalist falls short of objectivity
while others seem may seem to contain too much of it, abandoning the artistry of persuasion. Today
we live in a world where our own president claims the mainstream news outlets publish fake news. It
leaves us to wonder whether some factors affect the journalists reporting. Whether this is ethically
correct is also something to ask ourselves. Journalist Howard A. Myrick, professor broadcasting,
telecommunications, and mass media at the Temple University of Philadelphia weighs in on this his
article, Search for Objectivity in Journalism published in USA Today in the month of November 2002.
The article begins with this quote as his header, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Myrick s article, Objectivity in Journalism, states ... the human element in the business of perceiving,
processing and interpreting information through the prism of personal feelings and, yes, prejudices
that determine objectivity. (50) Myrick s statement leads us to think that our personal feeling define
may define our own objectivity but how could a journalist truly get to know their work without
including personal feelings? People may think that Rebecca Skloot s close relationship with the Lacks
family may have blurred the thin line between having objectivity and lacking it. This might not be
okay in other scenarios but since Rebecca Skloot interprets the story with varied information
involving different cases having to do with cases similar to Henrietta Lack s she proves that the story
of Henrietta Lacks is not uncanny, it is just not well distributed one due to either the time it has
occurred or the public s ignorance towards the

The leaders of the five ninja villages refuse to aid him and instead join forces to confront Tobi and his
allies. This results in a fourth great ninja war between the unified armies of the Five Great Countries
(collectively known as the Allied Shinobi Forces) and Akatsuki s forces of zombie like ninjas. Naruto,
and Killer Bee, the host of the Eight Tails, head for the battlefield refusing to sit back as instructed.
During the conflict, it is revealed that Tobi is actually Obito Uchiha, Kakashi s former teammate who
was thought to be dead, but he was saved by the real Madara and has been working with him ever
since. As Sasuke learns the history of Konoha, including the circumstances that led to his clan s
downfall, he decides to protect the village and rejoins Naruto and Sakura to stop Madara and Obito s
plans, which unleash the Ten Tails. However, Madara s body ends up possessed by Kaguya Ōtsutsuki,
an ancient princess who intends to subdue all of mankind, and a reformed Obito sacrifices himself to
help Team 7 stop her. Once Kaguya is sealed, Madara dies as well, but Sasuke takes advantage of the
situation and takes control all the Tailed Beasts to realize his true goal of ending the current village
system. Naruto confronts Sasuke to dissuade him, and after they almost kill each other in a final battle,
Sasuke admits defeat and reforms. After the war, Kakashi is chosen to become the Sixth Hokage and
pardons Sasuke of his crimes. Years later, Kakashi steps down and Naruto becomes the Seventh

Fort Sumter Essay
Introduction: On the twelfth of April 1861, Union troops had just taken refuge in Fort Sumter under
the cover of darkness. They were out number out gunned and running out of time. The newly formed
Confederate States of America (CSA) had now occupied the five other military installations within the
Garrison. At 0430, the first shot of the American Civil War rang out and Fort Sumter was fast under
the barrage that the surrounding garrison forts occupied by the confederate forces (sumter). Major
Anderson was reluctant to return fire, as his previous orders were not to be the aggressor. The first
shots returned in volley to the confederate forces was by a private under the Major Anderson, who
raced up to the third story of Fort Sumter where the largest artillery guns were loaded and ready to
fire. In following his lead, other soldiers in the fort also began firing on the confederate antagonists
(Civil War Journal: Destiny of Fort Sumter, 1993). Thirty four hours later Major Anderson surrendered
the fort over to General Beauregard without a single loss of life on either side of the battle. However,
death was soon to befall the soldiers of Fort Sumter. Thesis: The complete lack of organized military
and government intelligence solidified the abysmal start to the civil war. If the Union leadership
during the Buchanan administration had anticipated the treachery of the southern officers and leaders
within the federal government then they could have prevented the secession

Using The Heat Energy Equation
INTRODUCTION (Pre lab)
What will be the amount of energy contained in specific snack foods? This question will be solved by
using the heat energy equation, Q=mCΔT. Q or q will represent the heat in joules, this will be found
algebraically by filling in the rest of the heat energy equation. m will represent the mass in grams, this
will be found by finding the mass of the water. C will represent specific heat in Joules/grams °Celsius,
the specific heat of water will always be 4.184 J/g°C. ΔT will represent the change in temperature, this
will be found by subtracting the final temperature of the water by the original temperature of the
water. Capital Q means that heat will be added endothermic. Lowercase q means that heat will be lost
exothermic. The law conservation of energy says that energy will not be created nor destroyed, but
will be converted from one form to another. The percent error equation will be (accepted
experimental) ÷ (accepted), accepted is the Cal/g on the snack food s package, and the experimental is
the Cal/g that is calculated during the experiment. The independent variable will be the Marshmallow,
CHEEZ IT, Cheetos, and Chex mix. The dependent variable will be the energy in either Joules/grams
or Calories/gram because the amount of energy depends on the snack food. The controlled variable
will be the amount of water in the calorimeter because the water will be the same amount in every
trial. A bar graph will be needed to determine which snack food

Best PCEP Classes
The Good Part of School: The Best PCEP Classes All of the best classes to take at PCEP share similar
qualities. They are all easy, fun, and elective based. Although a few are somewhat related to core
classes, they are still interesting nonetheless. I speak from experience because I have taken (or are
currently taking) almost all of the classes on this list. The most common quality that some classes
share is that they are easy. The easiest class of all would be Combination Rackets. All that is required
is to show up and participate. It s hard to not get an A unless attendance is an issue. Another really
easy class is Photoshop. There is never any homework and the majority of the graded work is the tests
that are given every once in a while. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The best electives to take are the gym classes. They are the most enjoyable overall because they are
both fun and easy. They can also potentially help boost a student s GPA because of how easy it is to
get an A. Another category of good electives are Auto classes. They re pretty simple and students can
get a lot of work accomplished in there, like doing repairs on a car belonging to a kid in the class.
There are opportunities to learn all the advanced techniques of mechanics in order to use them in the
future for fixing up cars. The third and most interesting category of electives is electronics classes, like
Photoshop and Web Design. They teach students a lot about computer skills and are really easy. They
can also be enjoyable sometimes when the class does special projects that involve students using
creativity to make something, like a website or a picture. In summary, they are lots of different types
of PCEP electives that are worth

If no CSR is available, the caller waits as the call is placed in a queue for the next available CSR on a
first come, first serve basis.
* Single Phase
Although 6 call types are mentioned in the case, there is no specific sequence for answering those
questions and customers may ask only one type of question. Therefore it is single service.
Formula:
5. What is the expected number of people waiting in the queue?
The expected number of people waiting in the queue is Lq = 0.0677 * * Look up the table and find the
result is about 0.059
However, we don t think it is accurate.
* We stimulate these calculations of the Queuing Models on excel, which is called Q.xls. Finally, we
get a more accurate Lq.
6. What is the average number of callers in the system?
The average callers in the system not only contain the customers who are on the call, but also include
those customers who are waiting in the queue. So the average number of callers can be calculated by
adding the expected number of people waiting in the queue and the average utilization of the
employee.
* = 0.0677 + 112.39 / 27.55 = 4.1472
7. What is the average total time in the system?
The average total time in the system can be divided into two aspects, the waiting time and the serving
time. For the average waiting time, we should use the expected number of people waiting in the queue
to be divided by the arrival rate.

The Narrative Techniques Used by Hitchcock in Rear Window...
The Narrative Techniques Used by Hitchcock in Rear Window
L.B. Jeffries is a high class magazine photographer for what seems to be a worldwide publication. In
Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window , he is a temporarily wheelchair bound man and his voyeuristic side
appears later on in the film.
Rear Window depicts a 20th century New York in which fraudsters, murderers and salesmen all live
alongside each other. The story describes a man who broke his leg during a photography assignment.
He is, for the time being, stuck in a wheelchair with nothing to do but look at the neighbours through
his Rear Window . He hasn t seen the light of day since seven weeks ago.
Rear Window is one of Alfred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This also shows that it is the start of the story. The window fills the whole frame of the shot. This is a
good way of setting the scene for the viewers. Old style joyous jazz music is played at the start a good
way of portraying happy times. The opening scene in Rear Window has no dialogue, leaving even
more of the viewers in a pool of anticipation. The scene highlights the fact that every single thing in
the film will be seen through that particular window.
Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window is a great example of first rate camerawork. The camera is used as
the narrator and probably plays the biggest role within the film. At the start of the film, the camera is
used to pan around every single apartment within the inner city New York apartment block to
introduce the characters. Although the characters do not speak, they still play a major role in the film.
Alfred Hitchcock puts the viewers in the position of L.B Jeffries, making us all voyeurs. The camera is
used to tell the story, as there is very little dialogue in the film. Throughout nearly all of the film, only
one shot is used to tell the story, there are very few cuts. By doing it this way, Hitchcock is showing us
exactly what the character is seeing.
The cast of Rear Window includes Jimmy Stewart, the lovely Grace Kelly, Thelma Ritter, and

The Double Helix Rosalind Franklin Essay
This story starts May 1, 1992. Rosalind Franklin is responsible for photo 51, a remarkable photo of
DNA taken with x rays. It was a top view of a strand of DNA. Watson used this picture to write a book
called, The Double Helix. In the book he cast Franklin as an evil spirited women, but this is the
opposite of what she was actually like. Many scientist objected to Watson s book and one even
questioned, Did you even say she died? To start the film they talk about how the Franklin family was
wealthy, and full of philanthropist. Also from an early age she loved arithmetic and memory games.

Franklin died before she was credited with her information, and still today she does not get her credit
that is due. The credit that Wilkins, Crick, and Watson received was hers. When they stole her
information and saw her findings they wanted to go straight and claim it as their own, but couldn t
right away because they didn t know how to explain it without Rosalind Franklin. You can take all of
the notes from her as you want, but if you don t understand it or explain it then it is obvious that it is
not yours. This happened to Crick and Watson, but eventually they overcame this slight twist in their
plans and stole all of her data. For these men to copy her data, not acknowledge her as the author,
plagiarized. Unfortunately at this time since Franklin herself didn t publish her data there was no well
known record besides her notes to back her up as the author, it was not an obvious enough cause to
say that Crick and Watson stole her notes. For these reasons it is why it is important to credit research

The Global Bearing Market For Automotive Bearings
1. Introduction
In 2014, the global bearing market had a value of 75.91 billion dollars with a Compound Annual
Grade Rate (CAGR) of 7.7% from the year of 2014 to 2020. The bearing market is mainly driven by
automotive industry, meaning that if there is an increase of demand of vehicles, it will lead to an
increase of bearings and steel (material used to manufacture the bearings) (PR Newswire, 2014).
In March 2014, the European Commission found irregularities in the market for automotive bearings.
These irregularities consisted of six companies that operated as a cartel for seven years (April 2004
July 2011) in the European Economic Area. Therefore, the European Commission penalized the
participant companies by imposing fines of € 953,306,000 in total and also provided an opportunity
for reduction when the involved companies agreed to clear up the case with the Commission. The
involved companies were: the Europeans SKF and Schaeffler and the Japanese JTEKT, NSK, NFC,
and NTN (European Commission, 2014).
This paper presents a description of market structure in which the bearing companies operate in
Europe, possible environment that led to collusive behavior, incentives for companies that led them to
participate in cartel and resulting welfare from it. Moreover, the paper also presents an assessment of
Government intervention with costs and benefits analysis and its effects to all stakeholders. Through
this assessment, an argument is carried out on the appropriateness of

This strategic decision will also be discussed in more detail later in this report. As a final significant event on the company timeline, in November 2009 it was announced Marc Bolland would take over as Executive Chairman from Stuart Rose in early 2010. M amp;S outlined their strategic plan between 2010 and 2015 and thus the strategy changes chosen in this report will partly follow this. (Source: M amp;S Annual Report, 2011) Strategy Definition Before the individual strategic changes are described and evaluated, it is necessary to fully understand the definition of the term strategy and strategic management. The flame of competition has changed from he smokey yellow to intense white heat. For companies to survive and prosper they will have to have a vision, a mission and strategy (Johnson, 2001). The use of strategy in this well known quote from the Chief Executive of Lloyds TSB Peter Elwood shows the importance strategic decisions plan in the modern era for organisations. To supplement this, strategy is theoretically defined as the direction and scope of an organisation over the long term, which achieves advantages in a changing environment through its configuration of resources and competences with the aim of fulfilling stakeholder expectations (Johnson et al., 2005). • 3. Range Of Motion Range of motion refers to the full potential movement of a joint. This movement typically comprises the range of flexion and extension along a particular axis. Limited range of motion is caused by a decline in a joints ability to move like it should. This is caused by pain, swelling, or stiffness in the joint area. A goniometer is a tool that is used by therapists to measure the range of motion of a joint in a client s body. This is done by the therapist placing the center of the goniometer on the joint that is being evaluated. Next, the therapist aligns the main arm of the goniometer with the trunk of the client s body while moving the measuring arm with the client s arm or leg as they flex or extend their limb. I have personally witnessed many times that an occupational therapist used these techniques to assess their client. Not only does this measurement let the therapist know how much the client is improving over time, but it can also build confidence in the client by knowing that the work they are putting into therapy is paying off. Recording a client s range of motion is a good way to keep track of what stage of the recovery process the client may be in. Many times a client will go to an occupational therapist, because they cannot complete their full range of motion without experiencing pain or fatigue. Through my research, I was surprised to see how many different types of tools there are available for testing range of motion and other therapy related tests. I learned a small amount about a Baseline Wrist Inclinometer, a Baseline AcuAngle Inclinometer, and a Baseline Scoliometer. Although not all of these tools measure the range of motion, they are still fun to learn about. I look forward to learning more hands on techniques throughout this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Only during the last ten thousand years have humans existed in civilizations, with a multitude of differing forms that underwent development patterns often as a result of interaction with foreign societies. Because humans have existed in a wide variety of structural contexts, it becomes exceedingly difficult to derive universal human attributes that can be used to produce a theorem of human nature. The difficulty lies in that the varying forms of human socialization and institutions profoundly influence the value systems of the societal occupants. Thus, humans operate and think differently in different societies. For example, in modern liberal market ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Dan Moar represented the miners and was successful in signing a temporary agreement. 5. The coal miners were paid 25 cents for, every ton of coal that they dug, hand loaded on coal cars and pushed to the main shaft. An experienced miner who worked hard during his 10 hour shift, was given an opportunity to earn $1.60. The collection of rocks, clay and small sized coal reduced a miner s pay. Miners were also forced to do extra work such as laying tracks, pumping water, timbering and clearing roof falls that were not part of the pay. 6. The living conditions of the miners were worse in comparison to their work environments. Among many, there were only two mines that had shower facilities for its workers. The miners and their families referred the mine houses, as hovels in comparison to the village of Bienfait as they were forced to live in them so as to maintain the status of a permanent employee that guaranteed work for the miner. An 46 Year Old Male With Chest Pain Scholarly Assignment on an 46 year old male with chest pain Chest pains is one of the most common reasons for presentation to the emergency department (Czarnecki, Wang, Tu, Lee, Schull, Lau, Farkouh, Wijeysundera, Ko, 2014, p. 289). It can be cause by various conditions, including mild to chronic diseases or illnesses, viruses, strokes or heart attacks. Subjective A middle aged, 46 year old male patient is complaining of chest pain, upon being brought to the urgent clinic. He recalls that he was in his backyard laying down new large, heavy stones for his new backyard patio. He works at a sedentary office job, and lives a sedentary lifestyle. The patient also complains of shortness of breath and indigestion, as he did not intake as much food that is need for an average male. He also suffers from asthma and GERD. Reviewing this data, the nurse can get more subjective data from the patient if they would to ask specific questions to obtain a complete health history like, when did the pain start? Does it hurt more if you touch it? Does this type of pain usually occur? How often does the pain occur? Where exactly on your chest does the pain occur? Is the pain superficial or deep? Does the pain feel like it is dull, sharp, or throbbing? On a scale of one to ten how would you rate your pain? What were you doing at the time the pain started? • 7. Teaching As A Brilliant Lesson Essay In the past I thought that teaching a brilliant lesson would help students to learn, but I have gradually realised that didactic teaching has little or no impact on the majority of our students. It is a sad truism that a significant number of our students are uninterested and resistant to learning, possibly due to their own previous experiences, peer pressure and the nature of influences outside of the classroom. My concern as a teacher of these students has been to identify strategies that can be used to facilitate their learning, improve their self confidence and persuade them that learning is something worthwhile for them. One of the implicit aims of our school is to increase the aspirations of our students; to help them obtain the qualifications they need to achieve their life goals and so help them and their families improve their life chances (see appendix 1). So given that our aim is to increase the aspirations of our students; to help them obtain the qualifications they need to achieve their life goals ; the question we must ask is how can we do this ? I am increasing drawn to the ideas of Vygotsky (Fisher, 2005: 210; Minton, 2012: 15 17) who in the 1960s, along with others, challenged the notion of inborn intelligence prevalent up to the 1950s, leading to the still evolving idea that we all can grow in intelligence by improving our cognitive and meta cognitive skills, learning how to learn (Fisher, 2005: 210). As a result of scientists describing how our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to Tom Price recognizes in his article, Alcohol Abuse. , children who live in a family with people who abuse alcohol have a natural inclination to abuse alcohol themselves, and begin drinking thus predisposing them to abuse alcohol. All New Endurance Engine The all new Armada shares the same 5.6 liter, V8 gasoline engine found in the Titan and Titan XD. Known as Endurance, the engine is the same size as the previous V8, but otherwise it, too, is new. Nissan says the beefy V8 is outfitted with variable valve event lift (VVEL) technology for improved response and performance. Further, Nissan enhanced throttle response by controlling the intake valve and also employs direct injection gas technology. Where the previous engine created 317 horsepower and 385 pound feet of torque, the latest engine makes 390 horsepower and 401 pound feet of torque. Nissan rounds out the powertrain with a seven speed automatic transmission. Powerful, Expressive Exterior Without getting lost in the details, Nissan combined elements from its other vehicles to develop the new Armada s exterior. To begin, the grille offers a familiar look, one advanced by the popular Pathfinder crossover. While the headlamp assembly is similar to the Titan s, it offers its own look. The lower grille or air intake is unique, coming in wider and longer than the pickup truck line. The truck s frontal presentation is muscular, with a sculpted hood not unlike the Titan s. So, what you have here is a combination of existing and new Nissan elements to establish the Armada s face.

The bones, about 300,000 years old, were discovered thousands of miles from the previous record holder, unearthed in fossil rich eastern Africa. Chris Stringer and Julia Galway Witham of the Natural History Museum in London released in a Nature commentary. In the last 300,000 years, the main story is the change of the brain, Hublin said. Some experts who didn t take part in the discovery called that idea attainable despite the fact it was not explained. John Shea, However, who is an anthropologist at Stony Brook University in New York, said it s better to think of the different local people as a single one. These are parts of a network, through which ideas and genes flowed, he said. Shea said it was possible to unearth such old traces of early Homo sapiens in northwestern Africa. However, finding them there does not mean that our species first made an appearance there. When it comes to evidence for human origins in north west Africa versus Eastern Africa versus southern Africa, it s a tie, he wrote in an email. • 18. Rhetorical Devices In Julius Caesar s Speech In Shakespeare s play of Julius Caesar, Rhetoric is the art of convincing and persuading people by language through public speaking which is used in Julius Caesar s speeches. These devices are used in Brutus and Antony statements throughout the play. Brutus is a conspirator who kills Caesar since he fears that he will have too much power over Rome and its people. In comparison, Marc Antony is the closest friend and most trusted to Caesar, who persuades the people of Rome against Conspirators for killing Caesar. (Thesis statement) Brutus appeals to logic when he explains his actions in Caesar funeral, where as Antony appeals to emotions, playing with the audience feelings to seek justice upon the conspirators. Brutus gives a speech to the people of Rome to explain his reasoning in killing Caesar by using logic. He claims that he killed Caesar because he loves Rome and fears for well being of the people since Caesar was an ambitious man. Brutus expresses feelings by saying Had you rather have Caesar were living, and die all slaves/ than that Caesar were dead to live all free men? (III.I.175). Brutus uses rhetorical questions to make a point to the audience of saying that Rome is better without Caesar because Caesar if he was alive they would all be slaves since Caesar would have ultimate power and control. The Aryan Brotherhood, The Guerilla Family, and the Mexican Mafia are three of many powerful and efficient gangs that flourished in a California prison. • 32. Using The Heat Energy Equation INTRODUCTION (Pre lab) What will be the amount of energy contained in specific snack foods? This question will be solved by using the heat energy equation, Q=mCΔT. Q or q will represent the heat in joules, this will be found algebraically by filling in the rest of the heat energy equation. m will represent the mass in grams, this will be found by finding the mass of the water. C will represent specific heat in Joules/grams °Celsius, the specific heat of water will always be 4.184 J/g°C. ΔT will represent the change in temperature, this will be found by subtracting the final temperature of the water by the original temperature of the water. Capital Q means that heat will be added endothermic. Lowercase q means that heat will be lost exothermic. The law conservation of energy says that energy will not be created nor destroyed, but will be converted from one form to another. The percent error equation will be (accepted experimental) ÷ (accepted), accepted is the Cal/g on the snack food s package, and the experimental is the Cal/g that is calculated during the experiment. The independent variable will be the Marshmallow, CHEEZ IT, Cheetos, and Chex mix. The dependent variable will be the energy in either Joules/grams or Calories/gram because the amount of energy depends on the snack food. The controlled variable will be the amount of water in the calorimeter because the water will be the same amount in every trial. A bar graph will be needed to determine which snack food ... Introduction In 2014, the global bearing market had a value of 75.91 billion dollars with a Compound Annual Grade Rate (CAGR) of 7.7% from the year of 2014 to 2020. The bearing market is mainly driven by automotive industry, meaning that if there is an increase of demand of vehicles, it will lead to an increase of bearings and steel (material used to manufacture the bearings) (PR Newswire, 2014). In March 2014, the European Commission found irregularities in the market for automotive bearings. These irregularities consisted of six companies that operated as a cartel for seven years (April 2004 July 2011) in the European Economic Area. Therefore, the European Commission penalized the participant companies by imposing fines of € 953,306,000 in total and also provided an opportunity for reduction when the involved companies agreed to clear up the case with the Commission.
