The topsoil, which is rich in organic content and essential for new vegetation, should be stripped to a
depth of 20 cm from the areas proposed for buildings, roads, paved areas, and external services. It
should be stockpiled to a height of 40 cm in designated areas and reapplied during plantation of the
proposed vegetation. The topsoil should be separated from the subsoil debris and stones larger than 50

The Correlation Between Maximization And False Confessions
Minimization and maximization interrogation techniques are two categories that are widely used in
order to gain a confession. However, maximization techniques are misrepresented and it is believed
that they are used in order to scare suspects into confessing, and may even include evidence that was
manufactured by the interrogator, which could lead to false confessions (Russano, Meissner, Narchet,
Kassin, 2005). This is not the case. Maximization techniques are used as a way to obtain a confession
once the interrogator is certain that the suspect is indeed guilty. This can include a variety of different
tactics, but can not include direct threats or manufactured evidence. This misconception about
maximization techniques also does not take into account that the court will not accept a confession if
they see it as being induced by a number of things, including direct promises, and threats or actual
harm. As Kassin et al., (2010) explain, maximization is usually combined with minimization, and that
maximization is usually the last resort in order to reduce the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Studying collage students, or any other narrowed group, does not represent the majority of individuals
that could be in the situation of a false confession. The consequences of a confession of a crime can
lead to an investigation to close, leaving the perpetrator with higher charges. These real life
consequences can also discredit any real evidence on a case, letting the real perpetrator off. With this,
if an individual decides to retract their false confession, a jury is more likely to convict them because
they are seen as untrustworthy (Kassin et al., 2010). These consequences are unlikely to be taken into
consideration with experimental research on false

Evaluating Company s Strengths And Weaknesses
Evaluating Company s Strengths
A lot could be learned about a business by compiling all the relevant ratios taken from the business
financial statement. Ratios taken from financial statement according to Sobel, M MBA in a nutshell
are a testament of a given organization s solvency; which is the ability of an organization to meet its
financial obligations. These obligations are efficiency and profitability. While some ratios apply across
the board of an industry, they also tend to differ by industry.
From the balance sheet given information, I would cull some of the following financial ratios: current,
net working capital, quick, and debt to equity; I would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Usually, according to Sobel, M MBA in a nutshell , one of the most common causes of new business
failure is undercapitalization. Fledgling organization like Nano Brewery with solid product lines and
good marketing efforts may nonetheless require a great deal of funding if it plans to expand. Liquidity
Ratio or Quick Ratio: The liquidity ratio or quick ratio according to Sobel, M MBA in a nutshell , is
another measure of short term solvency, in relative terms. This is considered a conservative indicator,
according to Sobel, M MBA in a nutshell , given that the assets represented in the numerator of the
ratio do not include inventory, which is difficult to liquidate quickly. The formula that expresses this
is:
Liquidity ratio = Cash + accounts receivable + marketable securities divided by Current liabilities
Placing the values from the balance sheet into the formula
Liquidity ratio = $10,972.18 divided by $4,073 = 2.7
An organization s quick ratio is supposed to be greater than 1.1. From the result above, we can see that
we have 2.7. Debt to Equity Ratio: The debt to equity ratio according to Sobel, M MBA in a nutshell
is a measure of longterm solvency, in relative terms. The formula that expresses this according to
Sobel, M MBA in a nutshell :
Debt to equity ratio = Total liabilities divided by Total shareholders equity
Debt to equity ratio = $43,236 divided by $26,915 = 1.6 = 160% According to Sobel, M MBA in a

Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment Essay
Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment The Tuskegee Syphilis experiment was a study conducted by the U.S.
Public Health Service and the Tuskegee Institute to determine how untreated syphilis affects African
American men. The incident occurred in Macon County, Alabama, from 1932 to 1972 on the campus
of The Tuskegee Institute .The study consisted of a total of 600 African American men; 399 that were
previously identified with having syphilis and 201 were uninfected ( USPHS Syphilis Study 1).
Throughout the entire study the men were never told that they had syphilis, only told that have a
condition known as bad blood .

The key aspects of the study did give doctors and scientist an in depth of view of how syphilis effects
the body when untreated. On the other hand, the consequences is that other people, such as the wives,
sexual partners, and unborn children were also infected with the disease and were unable to obtain
proper treatment. Another consequence was uncovered racism in the medical community. This lead
people to believe that the reason the experiment went on so long was because the subjects were all
African American men that wore poor, and some even unable to read. For African American
community, the exposure of this unethical study continued to distrust in the government and laws. The
study did contribute to major changes. For example, public concern about lax protocols and potential
harm motivated the U.S. government to reevaluate standards for federally supported studies involving
human subjects. The changes made included requiring proof of informed consent by subjects and
mandatory review of all proposed studies by groups called independent review boards. These new
standards encourage ethical treatment of subjects, and help to make certain that people are aware of
the potential benefits and risks of participation in research

Irving Berlin Contributions
Irving Berlin made important contributions to musicals and music writing. After his background
information is provided, the prior sentence will be proven by using examples of the songs he made as
a freelance songwriter, a songwriter for Broadway musical productions , and Hollywood Musical
productions, the popularity of the songs, and the awards.
Israel Berlin who we now know as Irving Berlin, was born May 11th, Eighteen 1888, in the town of
Tyumen, a Siberian city in Russia. He was the one out of eight children. His father, Moses Baline, was
a Cantor in the Jewish Synagogue, and his mother was Lena Lipkin Baline During the time he lived in
Russia, he and his family were treated terribly, for the fact that Russia was at that time attacking the
Jews and the Jewish community. The only thing he remembered about Russia was when an Anti
Semitic group burned down his house, and he sat in front of his house all night watching it burn. In
circa 1883 his family moved to Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United States of America via
Ellis Island. Everyone in his family regardless of age, except for practical reasons such as an infant,
had to work. Although his family was very poor, he did not seem to notice. His father was a very strict
Jew and would punish his children with beatings even for as simple of a reason as taking their shoes
off in an unorthodox way. He worked odd jobs until he was eight years of age, when his father died,
he became a street singer while doubling as

Asynchronous Transfer Mode for Transmitting Information Essay
ATM is called Asynchronous Transfer Mode. ATM is a networking technology which transmits
information in the form fixed cells. The main vision behind designing ATM was integration of
services and performance requirements of both telephony and data networking which was shortly
called Broadband Integrated Service Vision (B ISDN). This cell relay protocol was designed by ATM
forum and was universally adopted by ITU T. Usually the size of the fixed cells is about 53 bytes with
5 bytes for header and 48 bytes payload. When compared to the cell sizes used in the previous
technologies, the size of an ATM is small. The smaller size of the ATM cells gives us a major
advantage. ATM enables us to transmit video, audio and data over the same network ... Show more

This should be done without any degradation in the performance or without requiring any
replacement. 3. The design must be implemented in a less expensive method. In case the ATM
becomes the backbone of the international communications the cost of implementing it should not be a
major barrier. 4. The proposed system must ensure accurate and predictable delivery. This is possible
only if ATM is a Connection Oriented system. 5. The major objective of ATM was to move most of
the functionalities to the hardware side and have comparatively less functionalities in the software.
This will ensure higher speed in the delivery of packets. It is clear from the above points that the
major goal of ATM was to ensure guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS). To ensure this various service
classes were defined by the ATM forum like Constant Bit Rate, Real time Variable Bit Rate, Non Real
time Variable Bit Rate, Unspecified Bit Rate, Available Bit Rate. ARCHITECTURE OF ATM
NETWORKS The ATM is a cell switched network as discussed previously. There are two important
interfaces which acts as a backbone to the whole architecture of ATM. The first is Network to Network
interface (NNI) and the other is the User to Network interface (UNI). The User to Network interface is
used to connect the User access devices or the end points to the switches, while the Network to
Network interface is used to connect various switches. The connection between two end

brewpub, microbrewery, etc., there are many questions, not just a few, that you will need to obtain the
answers for as they apply to your situation. You may already know the answers to some of the
questions but others you will have to research. To assist you in organizing the answers that you have
obtained to date and to identify some important questions which you may not have considered, the
following is a list of nine function steps that you must systematically and professionally proceed to do.
Important questions that you need to ask yourself and find the answers for are listed in point form for
your reference as a checklist of topics, problems, etc. to be covered under each function. The only
difference between the answers for the brewpub as compared to the mini brewery will be the depth
and detail of the answers, but the questions are common to all new brewery ventures. The answers

A Chariot Racing Day in the Roman Times Essay
A Chariot Racing Day in the Roman Times
The Circus Maximus was the oldest and the largest of all the circuses where chariot races took place
holding up to 250, 000 spectators. It was traditionally founded in the sixth century BC by Tarquinius
Priscus, the fifth king of Rome. In 329 BC, permanent starting gates were constructed and, in 174 BC,
that they were rebuilt and seven large wooden eggs were set up to indicate the completion of each lap.
The track was originally formed by the low ground of the valley. Inside, the track was covered with a
bed of sand which sparkled with bright mineral grain. The lower seat tier was made out of marble, the

Some people in the crowd looked for powerful beauty of the stallions, the richness of their

Some people watched it because they gambled money into it. A few minorities hated chariot racing. A

There s never anything new or different. He s amazed by the amount of people who watch it and

such as childish desire to see horses and men driving chariots. He thinks if spectators watch the beauty
and running of the horses, then that would be good but complains that isn t the case. They are only
interested in the winning horse. If they were attracted by the speed of the horses or the skill of the

History and Relocation of Native Americans Essay
1. Trace the history of relocation and Indian reservations. In what ways did reservations destroy
Native American cultures, and in what ways did reservations foster tribal identities? Be sure to
account for patterns of change and consistency over time. When one hears the word relocation , I
assume, they think of taking one thing exactly as it was and placing it in a different location, but
placing it as it was and with the same resources. Relocation is a loaded term because before the word
relocation came about settlers of early America were forcefully pushing native peoples off their
homelands; they just didn t have the term relocation . In 1838 Mireau B. Lamar, president of the

The whole point of the meeting was to come to an agreement over disputes of land claims between
colonies and Indian nations including the Iroquois. Though, through trickery, the Iroquois had ceded
to the colonies land from sea to sea .2(p. 187) This meant land from the Ohio Valley all the way to the
Pacific Ocean. Needless to say the Indians involved were disappointed and angered. The Royal
Proclamation was the next advancement in the idea of relocation. The Royal Proclamation, made by
the British, was an intangible line drawn to separate Indian lands from colonial lands. This was made
to please the Indians, but also served as a way to contain and control its own peoples within the
colonies. I point this out as a step towards relocation because, one of the first steps is: knowing where
something can be moved from and then moved to. When a solid border is made of land that is known,
by all parties involved, of whose is whose, then half of the process is accomplished. I mean by this: if
the party, not yet aware of possibly being moved again, they will not try to occupy what the other
party has defined as their lands because there is the belief that the same will be reciprocated from the
latter party. Therefore, not as much attention is needed by the British to defend the land that is
understood to be in possession of the British, and more

American Revolution Around the period of 1765 to 1788 North America was going through great
changes. Around 1775 the thirteen colonies demanded to be democratic government and in 1776 they
established the declaration of independence. The thirteen colonies refused to be under the British
government and wanted to separate. In the year 1781 the British surrendered in the American

Great Britain. The main reason the Americans revolted against the Britain was taxes on certain goods.
Between the year 1754 and through 1763 the war between Britain and France ended with the British

My Great Sacrifice When My Husband was Deployed Essay
Until I felt the effects of sacrifice last year, I never knew what strength truly meant. At the time
strength did not seem possible during my husband s year long deployment. A favorite quote of mine
by an unknown author matched my situation. You never know how strong you are until being strong is
the only choice you have. During this year long sacrifice, I found strength not only in myself but also
from the love between me and my husband.
Deployment is a word that all military spouses and military families dread to hear. When my husband

My heart ached like I was hit with a ton of bricks. The white busses were lined up and it was time to
say goodbye. I did not want to take the time we had left for granted. Our hug seemed like it lasted for
an eternity; each time we would let go we would grab each other once more for another strong
embrace. Wiping away my tears, my husband made a promise to me and our unborn son that he would
stay safe and would come home soon. He told me this was not a goodbye but only an I will see you
soon. His ever so caring smile calmed me and I was able to let him go.
On December 5th 2012 our son was born. We were so grateful for the time my husband was able to
come home for our son s birth. Not many other soldiers have that opportunity. We were able to spend
ten days as a family, but it just meant we had to say goodbye again. For some reason, our second
goodbye was not as difficult as our first. I knew I had to be strong for my husband and our son.
Every day we looked forward to my husband s homecoming. I kept a countdown on the white board
hanging on the fridge. It was another day down and another day being reunited again. As that written
number lessened, I became more anxious for his homecoming. Three hundred sixty five days later, my
husband arrived safely on US ground. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. I felt both nervous and
excited at the same time. My family was finally reunited. Our missing puzzle piece was finally home.

Keeping The Cold And Flu Bugs At Bey
Winter is a time of fun in the snow, hot chocolate, and resting by a warm fire. It is also a time for
viruses to run a muck. The following are a few tips to help keep the cold and flu bugs at bey. 1. Wash
your hands frequently. This is a commonly known virus fighter. Anything we touch has been touched
by others who might be carrying a virus. Frequent hand washing can keep us from allowing these
germs to enter our bodies. 2. Crack a window in your house for a few hours a day. One of the reasons
a house gets sick during the winter is because the germs have no where to go. They get into the
ventilation and circulate through the house with no outlet. Cracking a window in a different room of
the house a little while each day can give the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Appropriation Of Mindfulness
Mindfulness has slowly crept into modern day America and has become commonly thought as
unattached from its Buddhist origin. In order to attract customers and adherents, writers and teachers
of mindfulness separated it from Buddhism. Secular practitioners still benefit from mindfulness, not as
a religious meditative ritual, but as a concentration and thinking technique that can improve their
wellbeing and efficiency. Even if mindfulness is used as an improved thinking tool and health
practice, it remains linked to the Buddhist religion and ideals, and a clear ignorance of that
relationship is wrong no matter the benefits. The appropriation of mindfulness into secular America
also definitely waters down core Buddhist principles such as the ... Show more content on

To secular teachers it is reasonable to completely ignore mindfulness Buddhist roots in order to
propagate it further. And one could argue that in fact that applies well to the idea of stopping the
suffering and the open approach to different beliefs that is an attribute of Buddhism. Yet, however true
that might be, it would be quixotic to think that modern secular mindfulness is being distributed solely
for its benefits to society. The advertisers and magazines sell out mindfulness as a product. They have
commercialized it into sessions, trainings and therapies for profits a complete shift away from the
principles of Buddhist teachings. If the real goal was to promote mindfulness for its health and
productivity benefits then its Buddhist roots would not be an issue. Most people would arguably want
to practice mindfulness to improve themselves regardless of the source. So in truth, it is the act of
selling mindfulness that, seeking to maximize its outreach, requires mindfulness as a completely

Robotic Surgery Essay
Robotic Surgery
Robots are used in everyday life. They are in cars, our houses, and many places we do not care to
notice, as they have become a necessity for daily living. Advancements have been made, that allow for
robots to be used in surgery. Robotic surgery is relatively new to the medical industry and it is often
underrated. Robotic surgery offers greater efficiency, and utility than that provided through traditional
surgical methods. The most traditional and common way of performing surgery is laparoscopically.
This means the surgery is performed while looking through a small, camera inserted into the patient s
body. Though this technique is minimally invasive, it poses disadvantages, which can be overcome
with the use of robotics in surgery.
Robotic surgery is new compared to cell phones and laptops, however the surgical practice has been
around since the 1980 s. The first recorded use of robotics in surgery was in 1985, when the PUMA
560 robotic arm was used in a brain surgery (neurosurgical biopsy). This surgery laid the foundation
for a plethora of groundbreaking operations and a brand new scientific branch pursued into the twenty
first century. In 1998, after several years of development and advancements, Ralph Damiano Jr.
performed robotically assisted heart bypass surgery (Ditlea 2). This surgery is regarded as one of the
most difficult operations a surgeon can perform. The use of robotics in surgery remained throughout
the remainder of the twentieth century and

How Did Thomas Paine Attack The Monarchy By Thomas Paine
In the primary document Thomas Paine Attacks The Monarchy it talks about how Thomas Paine
attacked the monarchy by Common Sense. I feel as if this document really adds to what the textbook
has to say about what Thomas Paine did to make him such an important person in history. It is always
nice to get the perspective from people who were actually there. Thomas Paine s pamphlet Common
Sense is seen as one of the worlds most influential documentaries of all time. One of the reasons
Common Sense was so popular was because unlike many writers from his time Paine used a lot of
common sense arguments that average people could understand. Thomas Paine wrote the pamphlet
Common Sense in 1775 and it was published in January of 1776. The main impact of this pamphlet is
known as a way to help cause the American colonists to decide to fight for independence. Common
Sense challenged the authority of the British government and the royal monarchy. So if Thomas Paine
would have never wrote this the Americans may have never decided to fight for their independence. In
this primary document Thomas Paine states how corrupt the relation between the colonists and
England is, and how it needs to change. He starts off by saying how even though everyone is born
equal, people are not being treated equal. He says this is due to the fact that the rich oppress the poor.
Another reason for this he states is because we assign people as kings which is giving these people
more power. He states how it

Heroism In The Hobbit
Pattern of Heroism Fantasy author J.R.R Tolkien once said, All that is gold does not glitter, not all
those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the
frost. In one of Tolkien s best selling novels, The Hobbit, the main character Bilbo Baggins, who was
a timid and quiet creature, sets off on an adventure after being dragged out of his hobbit hole by
Gandalf and thirteen dwarves. With all starting out as a simple adventure, soon turned into a race
against time. Between saving the dwarves and battling the powerful dragon Smaug, Bilbo could see he
was slowly becoming a hero. Since The Hobbit was an adventure packed story, Tolkien modeled the
qualities of a hero and the plot leading to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

quiet folk and have no use for adventures. Nasty .disturbing uncomfortable things! Make you late for

Sadism in the Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe
The tell tale Sadist:
Sadism and Masochism in The tell tale heart
Many of Poe s tales portray characters which intently harm other creatures or people and enjoy the
process of doing so. This tendency which Poe himself called the spirit of perverseness (Poe 10) in The
Black Cat is described as the need to cause pain to other being without any reason, evil per se.
However, from a psychological point of view, this spirit of perverseness would be labeled as sadism
and its source may be traced by making a deep analysis of the character s psyche. It will be posed that
the character participant narrator in the tell tale heart does not kill the old man as an act of pure
evilness or spirit of perverseness, but rather the source of his/her ... Show more content on

This does not mean that sadism is a common feature of men s sexual behaviour, it is a sexual
aberration but gender influences this tendency. Besides aggression, according to Lacan, is represented
through certain images for example castration, mutilation, devouring (Glowinsky, 2001) and it should
be born in mind that the narrator mutilates his victim in order to hide it, which provides extra evidence
of the narrator s aggressiveness. In addition, a homosexual love for the old man would create a greater
conflict in the mind of the narrator and a greater difficulty to fulfill his sexual desire in a normal way.
It can often be recognized that the masochism is nothing but a continuation of the sadism turning
against one s own person in which the latter at first takes the place of the sexual object. ( Freud, 1914)
Indeed, masochism seems to derive from the sadist drive. It is usually believed that victimizer
becomes victim given certain circumstances and this may provoke pleasure as well. In the philosophy
of composition, Poe unintentionally provides a good definition of masochism by talking about the
human thirst for self torture. Indicating the eagerness of men to feel displeasure or even pain, this may
be done in innocent ways (by suffering through fiction) or by remaining or looking for situation that
might be painful. In the tale tell heart, the murderer after having tormented the old man

Quebec Sovereignty Movement
Quebec Sovereignty Movement The separation movement of Quebec has been a constant headache to
Canadian government for decades of years. As Quebec s main resident population speaks French,
there are inevitably many clashes between French and English cultures. Historically, Quebec was not
first colonized by British immigrants but the French, and claimed as French territory in 1608. In 1663,
under the reign of Louis XIV, it became French royal colony, and named as New France. In order to
firmly seize this piece of land, French and British militaries fought with each other for quite a long
time until 1763, ending up in the victory of Great Britain and France s surrender. However, Britain s
military success failed to repel France s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The independence + socialism project of the ASIQ was a source of political ideas for the Front de
libération du Québec (Quebec Liberation Front) (FLQ).
In 1968, separatists founded Patti Québécois (PQ), which publicly supports Quebec s independence.
In PQ s decrees they clearly tell the world that they are planning to procure Quebec s separation from
Canada, and later govern it. In November 1976 PQ officially took the control of Quebec, quickening
the pace of sovereignty movement.
Quebec City, the capital city of Quebec Province, is the ninth largest city in Canada, and the province
ranks the second largest one in the whole country. It also enjoys a high level of economy, and has a
large portion of GDP of Canada. In Quebec City, 680,000 citizens use both English and French as
official languages while ninety five percent of them only speak in French. No matter how strong the
separatist movement is in Quebec, it is impossible for Canadian government to easily grant Quebec s
requests of being independent because of the importance of Quebec.
In October 1979, Patti Québécois advocated establishing a new relationship with Canada, namely
politically independent while economically belonging to Canada. A referendum was held on such
independence + socialism project in 1980. The result is 40.44% of all voters agreed to it while 59.56%

Moods of Norway
Moods of Norway case indicated many interesting issues relating to brand management study. In this
paper, first, we outline two key challenges that Moods are facing, then analyze the brand based on
CBBE pyramid, and finally suggest two marketing programs that the company should invest.
1. Key challenges
The first challenge facing Moods of Norway is expanding the business to U.S. This is always a
profitable but risky opportunity for every firm, including Moods of Norway. The company with free
styling wants to just go to the U.S. and see what happens (Austin, O Donnell, and Krogh 2009, 15).
However, U.S. market one of the most difficult markets in the world has many implicit challenges for
Moods. Firstly, their brand is unknown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although this concept is highly successful in Norway, it is very difficult to apply to other markets.
This requires Moods to develop another story to tell in US market.
Brand Judgments
Brand Judgments and Brand Feelings are both of brand responses that elicit the proper customer
responses to this brand identification and brand meaning (Keller 2008, 60). From the performance and
imagery of Moods of Norway, we know partly about the customers evaluation of the brand. Following
the Possible Measures of Brand Building Blocks that is given by Keller (2008, 75), firstly, Moods
bring good value for customers. Indeed, they not only provide the clothing products for customer, but
also provide a chance to interact with their clothes by inscribing the lore on its inside. Customers
receive more value and feel more satisfied by Moods of Norway s fun stories. Secondly, in
comparison with standardized goods, fashion collections for the winter are not the same for the
summer and its change over years continuously. Hence, customers judge the brand based on the
success of previous products, other customers and especially in designers reputation. By borrowing
associations from its high qualified designers and owners, Moods become trustworthy and credible
brand (Keller 2008, 305). People buy their products because they can trust the Moods Boys
innovativeness and uniqueness. As mentioned in the case: When customers and partner companies

This would give me insight into how I would approach the different types of employment
opportunities and what conditions came with them. I strategized that if Top Foods first offered
permanent employment, then I would negotiate for lower rates. However, if permanent employment
was only conditioned on the proving of a successful campaign, then I was going to go for a hirer pay
rate. Furthermore, after hopefully learning the type of employment that Top Foods was looking for, I
was going to move onto how much control my client would have in terms of the marketing plan. I
strategized to start with my client s wishes to have full control over the marketing plan, but given the
unlikeliness of that happening, I was going to comeback with the idea that Top Foods could review the
plan and ask for any revision to be made. Thus, letting the negotiation unfold from that point.
Ultimately, throughout the negotiation, I strategized to keep emphasizing my theory that my client had
successfully created other marketing plans for Asian inspired foods in the past. I hoped to show
through stressing this that Top Foods had found an asset to its company and the right person to hire for
this type of work. I hoped to methodically go through each issue between the two parties and touch on
each one in order to come to an agreement that would be suitable to each side. 2. How well did

Environmental Issues Of Ocean Pollution
Environmental issues such as ocean pollution is caused by the careless acts of humans. Ocean
Pollution is a serious environmental issue that is slowly killing our largest water source and many
innocent sea creatures. Some things we will be looking over is the causes and effects as well as the
way it is severely killing and destroying not only marine life, but their homes.
One of the biggest sources of pollution is called nonpoint source pollution, which occurs as a result of
runoff. (What Is the Biggest Source of Pollution in the Ocean? From NOAA, 2016) These are from
things like septic tanks, sewers, littering, or automobiles. When we think of pollution, we think of

A big issue within all of the plastic in the ocean is the BPA inside. BPA is an organic pollutant and not
healthy for our environment. BPA is found in a lot of plastic and kills marine life as it disintegrates in
the waters. (Pyrek, C. (n.d.). Plastic Paradise (1st ed., Vol. 28). Retrieved November 9, 2017.)
When it comes to ocean pollution, it doesn t only affect our beaches, but it also affects the sea animals.
In Figure 1, you can see an innocent seahorse wrapping their tale around a q tip. The seahorse in
Hofman s photo is just one example of how marine animals interact with plastic debris. (How a
Photographer Snapped This Tragic Photo of a Seahorse Lugging a Q Tip. The Verge, The Verge, 15

adapted it as their everyday life because the plastic levels in the sea is increasing massively year by
year. Human waste is taking over the sea and this photo proves just that.
The garbage patch is full of trash that is from runoff or trash left by careless fisherman. In the
documentary Plastic Paradise, Angela Sun discusses how fisherman leave fishing nets in the ocean. If
they get trapped or dirty, typically the fisherman s easy way out is to throw it into the ocean and forget
about it. While floating around in the ocean, the nets eventually get picked up by ocean currents and

that he gave on March 5, 1946, at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri that later was referred to as

Out of admiration for Sir Winston Churchill, President Harry Truman attended and introduced him to
the audience. The main purpose of the speech was to argue for a closer relationship with the United
States and in regulating the post world. It was CHurchill s passion and oratory excellence that rallied
his countrymen, Parliament, and the Allies around the world when Britain stood fast and alone against
Hitler. When Churchill present the Iron Curtain Speech to the House of Commons, he reiterated and
encouraged the troops to give everything they had even if it was only blood, toil, sweat, and tears.
According to Cannadine s meticulous research, the term Iron Curtain was used to describe the actual
metal barrier that separated the Warsaw Pact countries from the Nato countries until the end of the

conceived the term Iron Curtain. An iron curtain is drawn upon their front. We do not know what is

High Turnover Is Tactical Work
Analysis Entry Phase According to Robinson and Robinson (2008), the issue of high turnover is
tactical work because it focuses on the design and implementation of solutions that address the
barriers to successful performance (p. 19). This tactical work can be reframed to focus on lowering the
turnover rate of engineers so that half the engineers stay with the company and do not quit within the
first two years and as a result, innovative products are produced. Assessment Phase One obvious
factor of a should assessment is that the company should be creative and not old fashioned so that

In advance, prework helps to advance information in future communications. Therefore, more
knowledge is gained through questionnaires sent prior to personal interviews. The next factor is to
seek answers as to the current state of work accomplished by engineers in the gap analysis to identify
strengths and weaknesses in frequency and skill levels. An IS assessment focuses does not focus on
the star employees or the managers, but on the group of engineers. Barriers and signs of inefficiency
indicate gap areas of needed improvement. Again, questionnaires may gain insight as to how the
engineers do their jobs and comparisons can be made to the star employees and managers. It is
advisable to interview the managers of the average engineering groups in addition to questionnaires to
yield more valuable data. Two sources of data is adequate and within reason in regard to time and
budget constraints. Questionnaires are a good start because of the direct information sought and
interviews allow for follow up questions and more detailed data. It is important that employees are

and the high numbers mean successes. The last assessment involves identifying the causes in order to

Picasso s Guernica: An analysis based on the methodologies provided by Panofsky and Barthes
In January 1937, Pablo Picasso accepted the commission for a 25 foot long mural for the Spanish
pavilion at the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne (Borja Villel et
al., 2010). This exposition was a creation of the Spanish Government in exile, at the time of the Civil
War. Therefore it was imbued with political and diplomatic meanings and served as propaganda for
the Republican Government (Borja Villel et al., 2010). The subject matter of the painting is the attack
on the Basque town of Guernica by German planes (Borja Villel et al., 2010). However, this event per
se is not what is highlighted in the painting. Picasso used this scene to demonstrate his personal
rejection of war and, taking this further, to demonstrate to the world the costly struggle by the Spanish
people in search for freedom (Borja Villel et al., 2010; Corbin, 1999). As a result, Guernica became to
be a worldwide icon for political protest (Kopper, 2014). The ... Show more content on

Measuring Measure Of Implicit Attitudes
MEASURING ATTITUDES
Implicit association test measure of implicit attitudes
All measures of sampling verbal behaviour
Social psychologists employ a variety of different measures in attempt to measure attitudes, which
cannot be directly measured due to their hypothetical and unobservable nature. However, they are
often inferable from behaviour. For example, a negative attitude towards smoking might be reflected
in moving away from someone who lights up in your vicinity (behaviour). Attitudes measures can be
explicit (i.e. participant is asked directly about their attitude towards an object e.g. opinion poll), or
implicit (i.e. measure wherein participants sub conscious attitudes are assessed without their
knowledge e.g...) (Haddock and Maio, 2008). Questionnaires are the most common measure of
attitudes, utilising one of four types of attitude measurement scales.
For example, Louis L. Thurstone (1887 1955) devised his equal interval scale in his 1928 work,
Attitudes can be measured , based on results obtained from a study on religious attitudes, ranging from
extremely positive to extremely negative (Thurstone and Chave, 1929). However, constructing such a
scale is a complicated and time consuming process. Items on the scale are assumed to have equal
intervals (i.e. items are divided into groups containing an equal range of numbers) between them, with
each representing a pre assigned value (e.g. Homosexuality is a choice attached value of 1;

The Beneficial Head Start Program Essay
The Head Start program is a beneficial one that helps youth overcome educational setbacks. In order
for one to understand the benefits of the program one must know what its goals are, how its goals
continue to be accomplished, what specific setbacks are remedied from it and how others feel about it.
Head Start is a comprehensive child development program that has an overall goal to prepare children
from low income families for school (The Administration For Children And Families, 2002). To
prepare a child for school the program has the goal of meeting educational, health, social service, and
parental needs. Head Start also wants to help bring about a greater degree of social competence in

The social services aspect of needs is met after the needs are identified. The family would be eligible
for community outreach programs, referrals, recruitment and enrollment of other children, and

2002).
Although the Head Start program focuses on preparing the children for school it does offer outreach
and training activities to assist parents with understanding their child s development and their overall
parenting skills (US Department of Health and Human Services, 2001). Parental needs are met when
parents receive classes or workshops that educate them on their child s development allowing parents
to create activities for their child at home as well as when they are in Head Start (US Department of
Health and Human Services, 2002).
The program also encourages parents to: volunteer in the classroom, participate in home visits by the
teacher at least twice a year, enroll in job training programs, literacy programs, or other adult
education programs, serve on policy making bodies, apply to work in the program, and serve in state,
regional, or national Head Start Associations (Mallory and Goldsmith, 2002).
Head Start has already accomplished the goal of affecting services available for low income families
and children. This is being accomplished due to better resource and referral services (Blank, 2002).

Analysis Of The Water Related Adaptation Interventions For...
At the community level, from my observation in work, I recognized that the local communities have
the best capability to adapt with the adverse impacts. People had managed to protect their livelihood
resources such as cropping fields, ponds, aquaculture farms and domestic facilities. For example, in
the early rainy season, some focal groups of local residents are formed. These groups are responsible
for monitoring the water levels and protecting proactively the irrigation facilities and the critical areas
of dykes. In order to cope with inundation, local residents have to work together to dredge the small
channels and to upgrade the paddy field embankments when they get the heavy rain forecast. They
have stored fresh water and changed in their water use to cope with potential floods, storm, inundation
and drought.
In short, the water related adaptation interventions in Thai Binh province focuses on upgrading hard
facilities in irrigation and water supply systems; capacity building programs; afforestation in coastal
zones and developing the local communities respond effectively to climate change. iii. Management

Using Correlation Method For Match Two Digital Images
MATCHING:
We have used correlation method to match two digital images. This technique is also known as
template matching. It compares portions of one image against another on a pixel by pixel basis.
Correlation is a measure of degree to which two variables agree, not necessarily in actual value but in
general behavior .The two variables are the corresponding pixel values in two images , template and
source.
The matching process moves the template image to all possible positions in a larger source image and
computes a numerical index that indicates how well the template matches the image in that position.
Template is nothing but a small region of image. Correlation method is simple and hence can be
analyzed appreciatively. There are two key features which make it simple and they are: shift invariant
and linear.Shift invariant means that we perform the same operation at every point in the image.
Linear means replacing every pixel with a linear combination of its neighbours.
The goal of this method is to find the correlated pixel within a certain disparity range that minimizes
the associated error and maximizes the similarity.

Gun Ownership Pros And Cons
Carrying or owning a gun has a lot of pros along with a lot of cons. Why some see the necessity of
owning a gun for reasoning from hunting game to house security, I personally do not have a true
reason to own one. Owning a gun has much more responsibility than I care to have by spending a fair
amount of money and time for an item that has little to no use for me and would not make me safe.
The legality of owning a gun far exceeds the mental health of the owner, few things non gun owners
know and what all gun owners should know. A lot of gun owners will say that non gun owners have
little say as to why one should not own guns, well I can say that gun owning and sales can go far
greater than a few old white men at Cabela s talking about the how the AR can have a swapped .223
barrel to a .556 barrel and how the overload of attachments can put on the gun with rails. When
writing this originally I thought to research a tad to fully understand guns and the legality of them,
until I came across how some states require one to have the firearm locked up in one s house in case
little kids go wondering around the house and happen to stumbles across a firearm and accidently fires
it because the horrid gun owner did not just leave the gun out but also had a clip ready. As I continued
my research on locking up guns, I saw some states and insurance companies require one to own a

and remove the old filter. Then take your new filter and take a little

  • 3. The Correlation Between Maximization And False Confessions Minimization and maximization interrogation techniques are two categories that are widely used in order to gain a confession. However, maximization techniques are misrepresented and it is believed that they are used in order to scare suspects into confessing, and may even include evidence that was manufactured by the interrogator, which could lead to false confessions (Russano, Meissner, Narchet, Kassin, 2005). This is not the case. Maximization techniques are used as a way to obtain a confession once the interrogator is certain that the suspect is indeed guilty. This can include a variety of different tactics, but can not include direct threats or manufactured evidence. This misconception about maximization techniques also does not take into account that the court will not accept a confession if they see it as being induced by a number of things, including direct promises, and threats or actual harm. These obligations are efficiency and profitability. While some ratios apply across the board of an industry, they also tend to differ by industry. From the balance sheet given information, I would cull some of the following financial ratios: current, net working capital, quick, and debt to equity; I would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Usually, according to Sobel, M MBA in a nutshell , one of the most common causes of new business failure is undercapitalization. Fledgling organization like Nano Brewery with solid product lines and good marketing efforts may nonetheless require a great deal of funding if it plans to expand. Liquidity Ratio or Quick Ratio: The liquidity ratio or quick ratio according to Sobel, M MBA in a nutshell , is another measure of short term solvency, in relative terms. This is considered a conservative indicator, according to Sobel, M MBA in a nutshell , given that the assets represented in the numerator of the ratio do not include inventory, which is difficult to liquidate quickly. The formula that expresses this is: Liquidity ratio = Cash + accounts receivable + marketable securities divided by Current liabilities Placing the values from the balance sheet into the formula Liquidity ratio = $10,972.18 divided by $4,073 = 2.7 An organization s quick ratio is supposed to be greater than 1.1. From the result above, we can see that we have 2.7. Debt to Equity Ratio: The debt to equity ratio according to Sobel, M MBA in a nutshell is a measure of longterm solvency, in relative terms. The formula that expresses this according to Sobel, M MBA in a nutshell : Debt to equity ratio = Total liabilities divided by Total shareholders equity Debt to equity ratio = $43,236 divided by $26,915 = 1.6 = 160% According to Sobel, M MBA in a nutshell , the ... After his background information is provided, the prior sentence will be proven by using examples of the songs he made as a freelance songwriter, a songwriter for Broadway musical productions , and Hollywood Musical productions, the popularity of the songs, and the awards. Israel Berlin who we now know as Irving Berlin, was born May 11th, Eighteen 1888, in the town of Tyumen, a Siberian city in Russia. He was the one out of eight children. His father, Moses Baline, was a Cantor in the Jewish Synagogue, and his mother was Lena Lipkin Baline During the time he lived in Russia, he and his family were treated terribly, for the fact that Russia was at that time attacking the Jews and the Jewish community. The only thing he remembered about Russia was when an Anti Semitic group burned down his house, and he sat in front of his house all night watching it burn. In circa 1883 his family moved to Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United States of America via Ellis Island. Everyone in his family regardless of age, except for practical reasons such as an infant, had to work. Although his family was very poor, he did not seem to notice. His father was a very strict Jew and would punish his children with beatings even for as simple of a reason as taking their shoes off in an unorthodox way. • 8. Asynchronous Transfer Mode for Transmitting Information Essay ATM is called Asynchronous Transfer Mode. ATM is a networking technology which transmits information in the form fixed cells. The main vision behind designing ATM was integration of services and performance requirements of both telephony and data networking which was shortly called Broadband Integrated Service Vision (B ISDN). This cell relay protocol was designed by ATM forum and was universally adopted by ITU T. Usually the size of the fixed cells is about 53 bytes with 5 bytes for header and 48 bytes payload. When compared to the cell sizes used in the previous technologies, the size of an ATM is small. The smaller size of the ATM cells gives us a major advantage. ATM enables us to transmit video, audio and data over the same network ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This should be done without any degradation in the performance or without requiring any replacement. 3. The design must be implemented in a less expensive method. In case the ATM becomes the backbone of the international communications the cost of implementing it should not be a major barrier. 4. The proposed system must ensure accurate and predictable delivery. This is possible only if ATM is a Connection Oriented system. 5. The major objective of ATM was to move most of the functionalities to the hardware side and have comparatively less functionalities in the software. This will ensure higher speed in the delivery of packets. It is clear from the above points that the major goal of ATM was to ensure guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS). To ensure this various service classes were defined by the ATM forum like Constant Bit Rate, Real time Variable Bit Rate, Non Real time Variable Bit Rate, Unspecified Bit Rate, Available Bit Rate. ARCHITECTURE OF ATM NETWORKS The ATM is a cell switched network as discussed previously. There are two important interfaces which acts as a backbone to the whole architecture of ATM. The first is Network to Network interface (NNI) and the other is the User to Network interface (UNI). Though, through trickery, the Iroquois had ceded to the colonies land from sea to sea .2(p. 187) This meant land from the Ohio Valley all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Needless to say the Indians involved were disappointed and angered. The Royal Proclamation was the next advancement in the idea of relocation. The Royal Proclamation, made by the British, was an intangible line drawn to separate Indian lands from colonial lands. This was made to please the Indians, but also served as a way to contain and control its own peoples within the colonies. I point this out as a step towards relocation because, one of the first steps is: knowing where something can be moved from and then moved to. When a solid border is made of land that is known, by all parties involved, of whose is whose, then half of the process is accomplished. I mean by this: if the party, not yet aware of possibly being moved again, they will not try to occupy what the other party has defined as their lands because there is the belief that the same will be reciprocated from the latter party. Therefore, not as much attention is needed by the British to defend the land that is understood to be in possession of the British, and more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They are in cars, our houses, and many places we do not care to notice, as they have become a necessity for daily living. Advancements have been made, that allow for robots to be used in surgery. Robotic surgery is relatively new to the medical industry and it is often underrated. Robotic surgery offers greater efficiency, and utility than that provided through traditional surgical methods. The most traditional and common way of performing surgery is laparoscopically. This means the surgery is performed while looking through a small, camera inserted into the patient s body. Though this technique is minimally invasive, it poses disadvantages, which can be overcome with the use of robotics in surgery. Robotic surgery is new compared to cell phones and laptops, however the surgical practice has been around since the 1980 s. The first recorded use of robotics in surgery was in 1985, when the PUMA 560 robotic arm was used in a brain surgery (neurosurgical biopsy). This surgery laid the foundation for a plethora of groundbreaking operations and a brand new scientific branch pursued into the twenty first century. In 1998, after several years of development and advancements, Ralph Damiano Jr. performed robotically assisted heart bypass surgery (Ditlea 2). I feel as if this document really adds to what the textbook has to say about what Thomas Paine did to make him such an important person in history. It is always nice to get the perspective from people who were actually there. Thomas Paine s pamphlet Common Sense is seen as one of the worlds most influential documentaries of all time. One of the reasons Common Sense was so popular was because unlike many writers from his time Paine used a lot of common sense arguments that average people could understand. Thomas Paine wrote the pamphlet Common Sense in 1775 and it was published in January of 1776. The main impact of this pamphlet is known as a way to help cause the American colonists to decide to fight for independence. Common Sense challenged the authority of the British government and the royal monarchy. So if Thomas Paine would have never wrote this the Americans may have never decided to fight for their independence. In this primary document Thomas Paine states how corrupt the relation between the colonists and England is, and how it needs to change. He starts off by saying how even though everyone is born equal, people are not being treated equal. He says this is due to the fact that the rich oppress the poor. Sadism in the Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe The tell tale Sadist: Sadism and Masochism in The tell tale heart Many of Poe s tales portray characters which intently harm other creatures or people and enjoy the process of doing so. This tendency which Poe himself called the spirit of perverseness (Poe 10) in The Black Cat is described as the need to cause pain to other being without any reason, evil per se. However, from a psychological point of view, this spirit of perverseness would be labeled as sadism and its source may be traced by making a deep analysis of the character s psyche. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This does not mean that sadism is a common feature of men s sexual behaviour, it is a sexual aberration but gender influences this tendency. Besides aggression, according to Lacan, is represented through certain images for example castration, mutilation, devouring (Glowinsky, 2001) and it should be born in mind that the narrator mutilates his victim in order to hide it, which provides extra evidence of the narrator s aggressiveness. In addition, a homosexual love for the old man would create a greater conflict in the mind of the narrator and a greater difficulty to fulfill his sexual desire in a normal way. It can often be recognized that the masochism is nothing but a continuation of the sadism turning against one s own person in which the latter at first takes the place of the sexual object. ( Freud, 1914) Indeed, masochism seems to derive from the sadist drive. It is usually believed that victimizer becomes victim given certain circumstances and this may provoke pleasure as well. In the philosophy of composition, Poe unintentionally provides a good definition of masochism by talking about the human thirst for self torture. Indicating the eagerness of men to feel displeasure or even pain, this may be done in innocent ways (by suffering through fiction) or by remaining or looking for situation that might be painful. The independence + socialism project of the ASIQ was a source of political ideas for the Front de libération du Québec (Quebec Liberation Front) (FLQ). In 1968, separatists founded Patti Québécois (PQ), which publicly supports Quebec s independence. In PQ s decrees they clearly tell the world that they are planning to procure Quebec s separation from Canada, and later govern it. In November 1976 PQ officially took the control of Quebec, quickening the pace of sovereignty movement. Quebec City, the capital city of Quebec Province, is the ninth largest city in Canada, and the province ranks the second largest one in the whole country. It also enjoys a high level of economy, and has a large portion of GDP of Canada. In Quebec City, 680,000 citizens use both English and French as official languages while ninety five percent of them only speak in French. No matter how strong the separatist movement is in Quebec, it is impossible for Canadian government to easily grant Quebec s requests of being independent because of the importance of Quebec. In October 1979, Patti Québécois advocated establishing a new relationship with Canada, namely politically independent while economically belonging to Canada. A referendum was held on such independence + socialism project in 1980. The result is 40.44% of all voters agreed to it while 59.56% disagreed. The first referendum on Quebec s ... • 25. Moods of Norway Moods of Norway case indicated many interesting issues relating to brand management study. In this paper, first, we outline two key challenges that Moods are facing, then analyze the brand based on CBBE pyramid, and finally suggest two marketing programs that the company should invest. 1. Key challenges The first challenge facing Moods of Norway is expanding the business to U.S. This is always a profitable but risky opportunity for every firm, including Moods of Norway. The company with free styling wants to just go to the U.S. and see what happens (Austin, O Donnell, and Krogh 2009, 15). However, U.S. market one of the most difficult markets in the world has many implicit challenges for Moods. Firstly, their brand is unknown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although this concept is highly successful in Norway, it is very difficult to apply to other markets. This requires Moods to develop another story to tell in US market. Brand Judgments Brand Judgments and Brand Feelings are both of brand responses that elicit the proper customer responses to this brand identification and brand meaning (Keller 2008, 60). From the performance and imagery of Moods of Norway, we know partly about the customers evaluation of the brand. Following the Possible Measures of Brand Building Blocks that is given by Keller (2008, 75), firstly, Moods bring good value for customers. Indeed, they not only provide the clothing products for customer, but also provide a chance to interact with their clothes by inscribing the lore on its inside. Customers receive more value and feel more satisfied by Moods of Norway s fun stories. Secondly, in comparison with standardized goods, fashion collections for the winter are not the same for the summer and its change over years continuously. Hence, customers judge the brand based on the success of previous products, other customers and especially in designers reputation. By borrowing associations from its high qualified designers and owners, Moods become trustworthy and credible brand (Keller 2008, 305). People buy their products because they can trust the Moods Boys innovativeness and uniqueness. As mentioned in the case: When customers and partner companies sought ... I strategized that if Top Foods first offered permanent employment, then I would negotiate for lower rates. However, if permanent employment was only conditioned on the proving of a successful campaign, then I was going to go for a hirer pay rate. Furthermore, after hopefully learning the type of employment that Top Foods was looking for, I was going to move onto how much control my client would have in terms of the marketing plan. I strategized to start with my client s wishes to have full control over the marketing plan, but given the unlikeliness of that happening, I was going to comeback with the idea that Top Foods could review the plan and ask for any revision to be made. Thus, letting the negotiation unfold from that point. Ultimately, throughout the negotiation, I strategized to keep emphasizing my theory that my client had successfully created other marketing plans for Asian inspired foods in the past. I hoped to show through stressing this that Top Foods had found an asset to its company and the right person to hire for this type of work. I hoped to methodically go through each issue between the two parties and touch on each one in order to come to an agreement that would be suitable to each side. 2. How well did ... Ocean Pollution is a serious environmental issue that is slowly killing our largest water source and many innocent sea creatures. One of the biggest sources of pollution is called nonpoint source pollution, which occurs as a result of runoff. (What Is the Biggest Source of Pollution in the Ocean? This exposition was a creation of the Spanish Government in exile, at the time of the Civil War. Therefore it was imbued with political and diplomatic meanings and served as propaganda for the Republican Government (Borja Villel et al., 2010). The subject matter of the painting is the attack on the Basque town of Guernica by German planes (Borja Villel et al., 2010). However, this event per se is not what is highlighted in the painting. Picasso used this scene to demonstrate his personal rejection of war and, taking this further, to demonstrate to the world the costly struggle by the Spanish people in search for freedom (Borja Villel et al., 2010; Corbin, 1999). • 33. Measuring Measure Of Implicit Attitudes MEASURING ATTITUDES Implicit association test measure of implicit attitudes All measures of sampling verbal behaviour Social psychologists employ a variety of different measures in attempt to measure attitudes, which cannot be directly measured due to their hypothetical and unobservable nature. However, they are often inferable from behaviour. For example, a negative attitude towards smoking might be reflected in moving away from someone who lights up in your vicinity (behaviour). Attitudes measures can be explicit (i.e. participant is asked directly about their attitude towards an object e.g. opinion poll), or implicit (i.e. measure wherein participants sub conscious attitudes are assessed without their knowledge e.g...) (Haddock and Maio, 2008). Questionnaires are the most common measure of attitudes, utilising one of four types of attitude measurement scales. For example, Louis L. Thurstone (1887 1955) devised his equal interval scale in his 1928 work, Attitudes can be measured , based on results obtained from a study on religious attitudes, ranging from extremely positive to extremely negative (Thurstone and Chave, 1929). However, constructing such a scale is a complicated and time consuming process. Items on the scale are assumed to have equal intervals (i.e. items are divided into groups containing an equal range of numbers) between them, with each representing a pre assigned value (e.g. Homosexuality is a choice attached value of 1; Homosexuality is ... Although the Head Start program focuses on preparing the children for school it does offer outreach and training activities to assist parents with understanding their child s development and their overall parenting skills (US Department of Health and Human Services, 2001). Parental needs are met when parents receive classes or workshops that educate them on their child s development allowing parents to create activities for their child at home as well as when they are in Head Start (US Department of Health and Human Services, 2002). The program also encourages parents to: volunteer in the classroom, participate in home visits by the teacher at least twice a year, enroll in job training programs, literacy programs, or other adult education programs, serve on policy making bodies, apply to work in the program, and serve in state, regional, or national Head Start Associations (Mallory and Goldsmith, 2002). At the community level, from my observation in work, I recognized that the local communities have the best capability to adapt with the adverse impacts. People had managed to protect their livelihood resources such as cropping fields, ponds, aquaculture farms and domestic facilities. For example, in the early rainy season, some focal groups of local residents are formed. These groups are responsible for monitoring the water levels and protecting proactively the irrigation facilities and the critical areas of dykes. In order to cope with inundation, local residents have to work together to dredge the small channels and to upgrade the paddy field embankments when they get the heavy rain forecast. They have stored fresh water and changed in their water use to cope with potential floods, storm, inundation and drought. In short, the water related adaptation interventions in Thai Binh province focuses on upgrading hard facilities in irrigation and water supply systems; capacity building programs; afforestation in coastal zones and developing the local communities respond effectively to climate change. iii. • 36. Using Correlation Method For Match Two Digital Images MATCHING: We have used correlation method to match two digital images. This technique is also known as template matching. It compares portions of one image against another on a pixel by pixel basis. Correlation is a measure of degree to which two variables agree, not necessarily in actual value but in general behavior .The two variables are the corresponding pixel values in two images , template and source. The matching process moves the template image to all possible positions in a larger source image and computes a numerical index that indicates how well the template matches the image in that position. Template is nothing but a small region of image. Correlation method is simple and hence can be analyzed appreciatively. There are two key features which make it simple and they are: shift invariant and linear.Shift invariant means that we perform the same operation at every point in the image. Linear means replacing every pixel with a linear combination of its neighbours. The goal of this method is to find the correlated pixel within a certain disparity range that minimizes the associated error and maximizes the similarity. Why some see the necessity of owning a gun for reasoning from hunting game to house security, I personally do not have a true reason to own one. The legality of owning a gun far exceeds the mental health of the owner, few things non gun owners know and what all gun owners should know. When writing this originally I thought to research a tad to fully understand guns and the legality of them, until I came across how some states require one to have the firearm locked up in one s house in case little kids go wondering around the house and happen to stumbles across a firearm and accidently fires it because the horrid gun owner did not just leave the gun out but also had a clip ready.
