The Negative Outcomes of Online Dating Essay
Online Dating is defined as the practice of searching for a romantic or sexual partner on the internet,
typically via a dedicated website (Oxford). In 2012, there were an estimated 1500 different dating
websites in the United States and thousands more around the world. The most common dating
websites are Match.com, Adultfriendfinder.com, christianmingle.com, Zoosk.com, and
eHarmony.com. There are others depending on the user s interests such as Cams.com is for those who
like to communicate by camera, Gay.com is for those interested in other gay singles, Blacksingle.com
is for those interested in other black singles and Seniorpeoplemeet.com is for the older person who is
looking for that particular other in their age range. All dating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Nowadays people are meeting the same way but with a twist. More people are using the internet as a
way to put themselves out there to see what they can reel in. Dating sites are presently one of the most
popular ways of meeting singles. There are many different types of dating sites, choosing the right one
just depends on the person s interest. There are formal dating sites where what the person wants is a
serious relationship, marriage, or just a good time. There are also websites that tend to be a bit more
intimate. These intimate websites are for people looking for like minded adults with sexy photos,
seeking affairs, discrete relationships, shared sexual fetish and sexual encounters. Usually once the
person has found what dating site they want to use, they person starts off by creating a profile, after
that they design their profile by inputting information about themselves, post pictures, biography,
interests, likes and dislikes, and what type of partner they are seeking. The users fill out these in depth
questionnaires, some ask about 300 questions and some websites also track what users do online in
order to create a more accurate picture of their preferences. Also some of these dating sites are free
and others the users have to pay. Some might say it makes it simpler or a bit more difficult to find their
partner. These sites use a complex algorithm to help in the performance of

How Organizations Can Move Beyond The First Steps Of...
ABSTRACT
Change is best carried through by the many, not by just the hero leader. Ten challenges to the initiation
and sustaining of change are elaborated, illustrated by a rich range of case studies and supported by a
practical checklist.
We all know that change and innovation are of the essence for organisations today and in future. The
bad news, according to Peter Senge, is that most change initiatives fail. The good news is that Senge
and his co authors think they know why and what to do about it.
Senge is the guru of the learning organisation whose previous book The Fifth Discipline was hailed as
a groundbreaking book about organisational transformation. Senge and his co authors, all of them
change experts, call this new book a Fifth Discipline resource . The aim of the book is to show how
organisations can move beyond the first steps of corporate change and sustain the momentum.
The problems that cause the failure of change projects cannot be solved by more expert advice, better
consultants or more committed managers, say Senge and co. They stem from our most basic ways of
thinking. Unless these change, new initiatives will only produce the same unproductive types of
action. The fundamental problem is that most change initiatives deal only with growth processes and
not with the limiting processes. We need to change our way of thinking so that we can understand the
forces that impede progress and develop strategies for dealing with them.

Sociological Explanations Of Gender Display By Goffman s
This next section provides a general discussion of Goffman s (1976) gender display . This is used to
investigate how gender is represented through interaction, and therefore be seen as natural, while it s
being produced as a socially organised achievement . Femininity and masculinity are viewed as
prototypes of essential expression something that can be conveyed in any social situation and yet
something that strikes at the most basic characterisation of the individual (1976, p. 75). These are seen
as meaningful behaviour which are evidence of our essential natures . Goffman (1979, p. 69 70)
viewed displays as conventionalised acts organised as two part exchanges in which the existence or
non existence of symmetry could initiate inferiority ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This penis was seen as a fault which needed a resolution (Garfinkel, 1967, p. 126 32). Agnes admitted
that there are crucial biological measures that differentiate males from females. Furthermore, other
cultures have become aware of the existence of cross genders (Williams 1986, cited in West and
Zimmerman 1987) and the likelihood of more than two sexes (Cucchiari 1981, cited in West and
Zimmerman 1987). More importantly, Kessler and McKenna (1978, p. 1 6) made a significant
argument that genitalia isn t revealed to society on a day to day basis; still we carry on observing a
world of two naturally sexed human beings. It is the assumption that measures are required that
supplies the basis for sex classification. They argue gender is cultural occurrences, rather than a group
of characteristics or ways of acting. Original sex assignment and having the crucial criteria for that
gender category hasn t got much to do with the identification of sex category in day to day life. To

The dangers of teenage alcohol abuse are underestimated in our country due to the social acceptability
of the drug alcohol. The social acceptability of alcohol itself is seen by the frequency it is categorized
separately from other drugs and substances when we talk about use and abuse. Alcohol is a drug but
our nation and the media do not want to call it one or treat it like one. Alcohol is a legal drug abused
by many teenagers and this paper will address some of the issues today s teenagers face when dealing

Parents may think as long as their children are drinking beer instead of doing drug s its okay. People in
America do not want to wake up to the fact that alcohol is a drug and it does kill our youth. Youth
need to be educated on the affects alcohol can have on their bodies, and parents and communities need
to play a role in their education. Contrary to popular belief, youth do drink alone just like some adults
do. They drink to change their mood, alleviate boredom, and to handle stress. Many youth will drink
anything as they don t realize the difference in alcohol content between hard liquor, beer, or wine
(Novello, 1997). Even if teenagers attempt to read the labels on alcoholic beverages, they may be
confused due to obscure labeling. High school students drink 35% of all the wine coolers consumed in
the United States and they believe beer has a higher alcohol content than wine coolers. According to
the 2006 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), in the past year, 32.9 percent of the
youths surveyed from age 12 to 17 had used alcohol. According to the 2005 NSDUH survey, 74.3
percent of high school students nationwide had already consumed one or more drinks in their lifetime.
Many teenagers and children get their information about alcohol from friends and the media. With
these sources they do not have sufficient information to advise them of the dangers of alcohol

The Youth Of A New Country
1. Grabbing people s attention with certain programs can be a hard task to achieve, especially if they
don t know your language that well, or they are newcomers to your country. The way I would reach
out to the newcomer youth in the Greater Toronto area would be creating a flier to post around schools
and public places to promote the program, this way the more instances that people see the flier, the
more interested in it they become. Another way of grabbing the attention of newcomers to pull them
into coming to our program would be giving out packages explaining to the parents of the children
what our program can benefit to their children who are being welcomed into a new country. This
makes sure the child s parents are aware of the programs that the YMCA has for them, plus give them
a chance to look over and contemplate if they believe it is going to be a good opportunity for their
children. Lastly, I would develop a presentation, and go into the schools most populated with
newcomer kids to introduce them to the types of programs that they can get involved in. I would even
ask for it to be held outside of normal school hours so their parents would be able to sit in on the
presentation so they are able to get the same information. There is one major barrier the I need to
consider while developing ways to promote the YMCA programs. That barrier is communication.
While most of the people who live in Toronto speak either English or French, immigrants also in the

Descriptive Essay On My Clocks
Everyone I know has already seen a clock reach zero. A timer constantly floating over somebody s
head, representing different things for anyone who sees it. When they reach zero, something happens,
something different for everyone. The floating numbers have never dropped that low for me. When
Maria sees someone s timer reach zero, that person sneezes. Steven watches a clock bottom out as the
person with that clock laughs. Even Kelsey saw a baby start to cry when it dropped its toy and its
countdown hit zero. Me, never. Nobody I ve ever seen has hit zero, and it s been seventeen years.
Seventeen years of friends learning what the countdowns they saw meant, seventeen years of people
swearing up and down that I d see what my clocks symbolized, seventeen years of endless ticking,
seventeen years of lies. My mom always used to say that meant I was special, that I still got to find out
what my clocks meant at an age where I would remember my first time, where I would be able to
relive the excitement. I never told her that my clocks aren t counting down. Of every person I ve ever
talked to, they ve never seen their clocks count up, or freeze, or bounce between times. Oddly enough,
none of them ever caught on that I was asking to see if I wasn t actually alone. Stupid jerks. Even right
now, my phone sits on silent under my bed, having been thrown there after Allie s text of excited
news; she just saw some girl reach zero on the street when a greasy construction

President Reagan And Iran During The Cold War
During the time of the Cold War, many people lived in fear of communism and terrorism. In 1983,
several Americans were taken hostage in Lebanon by a terrorist group. This terrorist group was loyal
to Iran, so President Ronald Reagan stated he was against Iran. In addition, he told American allies not
to sell weapons to Iran which would help them in their war with Iraq. Reagan proved to be against
Iran, however, in 1986 President Reagan allowed the selling of weapons to Iran. By the selling of
these arms, America would have the seven hostages in Lebanon returned. Then, members of President
Reagan s staff gave some of the money from these sales to Contras in Nicaragua. After several
investigations, it was seen that there was a scandal

The Myth Of Prometheus And The Garden Of Eden
How can there be similar themes in different books? Themes can be found in every story. If one says
ignorance is bliss, or spirituality vs. science, these are all themes. Correspondingly, acceptance is a
theme that has always been used. However, this word has not only been used for texts it has been used
everywhere, from books to relations to even movies. To put it differently, ambition is getting what you
want, this is seen often in stories. This word makes people think what their needs are and what their
wants are. Furthermore, themes are generally made when you feel like you have seen the movie or

How Is Iago Honest In Othello
A rebirth of Iago s honesty
Othello, one of the most well known tragedies written by William Shakespeare, is one of the symbolic
piece of Shakespearean tragedies throughout 15th and 16th century, which is also known as the period
of English Renaissance the rebirth . Iago is often called honest in the play as the speech by Othello

just literally honest will be stated regarding my findings and opinions in following paragraphs.
First of all, I think that Iago s honest words only apply to those honest people whom he shared special
relationships with throughout the play of Othello, indeed. A few relationships can be defined: (1) the

Iago is an embodiment of Utilitarianist the antithetical ideas of humanism throughout the period of the

Napster and its founder held the promise of everything the new medium of the Internet encompassed:
youth, radical change and the free exchange of information. But youthful exuberance would soon give
way to reality as the music industry placed a bull s eye squarely on Napster.
I. Introduction
Today the use of a computer has provided many privileges to its users, and among those privileges the
main and largest one is the distribution of information across the internet. Through the internet, the
average person has the ability to access millions of databases of information at no cost. This is the

Thus because no one realized the true potential of the internet (nor was the technology available at the
time), no great amount of information was transferred from computer to computer, at least by the
average person. Each file had to be transferred physically by floppy discs that could only hold an
insignificant 1.44 Megabytes. Sure, you could still share files back then, but this required the physical
act of getting the disk, transferring it to your computer, and then copying the file. All this took a
relatively large amount of effort compared to the copy and paste methods of copying files today.
After a while around 1995, a small underground network of file sharing developed through the use of
a medium known as mIRC. m IRC is basically the early version of today s chat rooms with the
exception that most users identities can be kept hidden from one another while still allowing the users
to exchange information freely. These users created their own private FTP sites which other users
could upload and download from. These users became labeled as internet pirates , who dedicated their
time to obtaining the latest software and other such files to upload to FTP sites whose IP addresses
changed constantly so that they could not be tracked. These FTP sites grew to

Undergrad Personal Statement
When I entered college, I had little idea of what I wanted to study. Eventually, I found two majors that
have been most fulfilling, Russian and International Studies. These majors have also led me to areas
of public service I never before considered. While I knew about positions in the Defense Department
and in intelligence, I quickly learned that my foreign language abilities were valuable outside these
capacities. Although I have an interest in working internationally, I recognize there are many ways to
serve meaningfully in the United States. As an undergrad, I worked part time in warehouse off
campus. While I value my education and all of the opportunities it has provided me, this was one of
the most educational experiences I have had. Working with men who were supporting families on a
meager wage was truly eye opening to me and made me question many of my preconceived notions.
One man s well water quality was so poor that he brought empty milk jugs to fill and take home to his
family. Other coworkers recounted their experiences as children, living in poor neighborhoods and on

Castle Clash Research Paper
Castle Clash is an astounding game full of strategy and competition. Unlike the dim, rival game, Clash
of Clans, Castle Clash is based on heroes. Heroes are a necessity in this game. You won t get far
without them. Heroes in Castle Clash are separated into three groups; ordinary, elite, and legendary.
Ordinary heroes are the basic type of heroes, the easiest to acquire. The next step up is elite heroes.
Elite heroes are not yet the superlative, but they are far more ameliorating than ordinaries. They are
easily attained, but they re a slight trickier. Legendary heroes are the most problematical to obtain.
Ordinary heroes have the lowest stats, but are reasonably priced. If you have just started the game,
they will be great for you. There are eight ordinary heroes that consist of Angel, Marauder, Hill Giant,
Engineer, Frost Witch, Dryad, and Marksman. In order to get a specific hero you have to purchase
them with shards. You can also get them by rolling with Honor Badges or gems, but there is a random

Essay On Republican Party
The United States population is spread out across a spectrum of the political ideologies. We are
typically seen as being on the left , also called liberals, or on the right , called conservatives. The two
main political parties in our country are the Democrats, whose supporters are typically on the left, and
the Republicans, whose supporters are on the right. These parties and their policies, however, are
becoming more polarized and are attracting the more extreme members of their party and not the
moderate voters, which make up the majority of the voters. By setting policies that the moderate
voters would agree with can help political parties gain more voters, as long as they do not lean too far
away from their base groups, or their strongest and more extreme voters. Republicans would gain
supporters by changing their policies on free trade agreements, immigration, healthcare, and wall
street to those that are more similar to the most of the public. These supporters would come from the
moderate voters, like the hard pressed skeptics and the young outsiders, and some of the other liberal
groups, like the next generation left and the faith and family left. Today the Republican party wants to
repeal all free trade agreements. This is in contrast with the majority of the general population, in
which 59% believe that free trade agreements are good for our nation and 30% believe that they are
bad. The Democrats on the other hand support most of the agreements that are around

In the documentary Fed Up presented by Katie Couric and Laurie David they focus on the fabrications

history. Leading up the English reformation King Henry was married to Catherine of Aragon and had
many attempts at giving birth to a male heir as a result of this King Henry began to tire of this married
and looked elsewhere to Anne Boleyn and became what historians refer to as infatuated with her,
wanting an annulment Henry asked the Pope at the time Clement VII to grant him one and utilized his
knowledge of the Old Testament to give reason to his request stating that Leviticus 20:16 said If a man
shall take his brother s wife, it is an impurity; he hath uncovered his brother s nakedness; they shall be
childless Henry also referred to his marriage with Catherine as blighted in the eyes of God However
the pope did not grant one because it goes against the Catholic faith, one underling reason is the fact
that one of the most powerful monarchs in Europe was Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor who s
kingdom spanned over Spain, Germany and Italy this accumulated to nearly 4 million square
kilometers in land. Charles was the nephew of Catherine and if an annulment was to occur it was
likely that Charles would take it to offence causing the Western Catholic

The Negative Effects Of Gress Stress And Its Effects On...
Through the fast pace of today s economy and job market in the United States, students are constantly
being asked to do more in order to maintain a competitive edge. Although, obtaining such an edge
might promote a positive outcome, there are also negative responses that essentially hurt students as
individuals and the American job market as a whole. The constant government and societal push
towards measuring up to the rest of the world is essentially, harming students more than it is
promoting them.
Although stress stress isn t always a negative aspect, in extreme situations, it can prove to be very
unhealthy. The American Psychological Association has found that Teens report that their stress level
during the school year far exceeds what they believe to be healthy... The association also says that
Many teens also report feeling overwhelmed (31 percent) and depressed or sad (30 percent) as a result
of stress. The stress that students are experiencing is not the problem as much as the consequences that
come from it. Depression and lack of motivation can result from too much pressure upon students, and
these negative side effects can cancel any of the positively intended effects. From elementary school
to college, the American school system is constantly striving to keep up with that of other countries.
This constant motivation can be very toxic to the entire cause at hand. The University of La Verne
took statistics of their students and found that ...at least 50% of

Technology And The Mobile Applications
Abstract Location based services and location tacking applications are gaining much popularity
among the youngsters and designing such an android mobile application is also expected to have much
attraction among users. Designing such an application is our project idea. Although many new
applications provide such facilities user s privacy is not up to the mark. Moreover this location hunter
tracks the location of the other user when a call is made, and only those phones in the paired networks
will be able to track the location of the target mobile devices. Thus privacy may be provided to the

When a person s location is known overtime and if being noted continuously for a long period it is
really a great deal and may be leading to gather information on who the person is and what is highly
valued by him/her. A person who knows all of another s actions can construe whether daily habits

facts could be found very easily. But still this could be very useful in locating a missing person. So we
may be puzzled whether to use or not use such applications. Thus we may come to a decision that we
shall use such applications provided they offer good privacy apart from providing good location
information.

Brief Summary Of The Documentary Gamer Girl
my group decided to do our documentary on a topic that we are all passionate about. Video games and

Barack Obama s Dreams From My Father
In the United States of America people of multi racial foundations feel like they are compelled to pick
a piece of the racial character to characterize themselves. Throughout the years, numerous imperative
assumes that have existed in the United States have talked on this issue. A standout amongst the most
applicable individuals, who have talked on this, is W.e.b. Du Bois. He created a hypothesis called
Double Consciousness . This hypothesis expresses that as an individual you have a double personality;
one character that is American and the other personality that is dark. This hypothesis relates
impeccably the subject of racial character in Barack Obama s book, Dreams from my Father. In this
book, Obama examines racial way of life as an issue to end up in the United States. He does this by
permitting the peruser to complete his adventure life, and talking about the encounters that made him
doubt his character in view of the numerous trials that occurred in his life. While reading this section

Literary Analysis Of Pride And Prejudice
It is a truth universally acknowledged that Pride and Prejudice is the most memorable, riveting and
heartwarming romance novels in history. Diving into the 1813 lifestyle from a modern viewpoint
raises the political correctness alarm: marriage as a means of survival for women, the rigidity of birth
and the intimidating, cruel class system. In 2017, Regency England in multiple ways seems utterly
daunting, nevertheless, Austen cleverly and entertainingly exposes these harsh customaries to ridicule.
Mrs. Bennet has a sole trivial aspiration for her 5 young daughters Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty and
Lydia to unite in wedlock. And lustful, engrossing events arise from the first pleasurable encounter
with Jane and the rich handsome suitor Mr. Bingely as well as the meeting of Mr. Bingley s conceited
friend Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth who ironically experience hate at first sight. For many, Pride and
Prejudice is a highly satisfying love story that has importantly laid the basic foundations for romantic
literature. So, the love story mainly endorses the romance genre expectations for a modern audience
through its inclusion of the vital romance ingredients, namely our archetypal hero, heroine, engaging
obstacles, conflict, tension and ultimate happy ending.

Mere Christianity Chapter 3 Summary
The chapter three of Mere Christianity talks about the Christian how believe in God in the human life.
It summary the chapter 7 to 12 as there are Forgiveness; The Great Sin; Charity; Hope and Faith. The
chapter seven was explained the forgiveness. One of the most distinct aspects between non believers
and Christian morality is that have duty and responsibility to forgive the enemy. We need to love our
neighbor as ourselves. In the Bible, we are born guilty, and if we do not forgive then we do not have
god s forgiveness. We can hate the wrong thing that someone did, but can t hate the person, and if we
can, to be hope they can one day try to correct it and turn over a new leaf. Christians believe in eternal
life, and the soul of human will eventually come together for a moment, and no one will hate each

The Impact Of English As A Lingua Franca
English has undergone some changes in relation to its status in the world. Some years ago, it only
became the first or second language for several countries. Nowadays, alongside with the development
of information, communication, and technology the status of English becomes a lingua franca in the
world. That is, a language that is used as a means of communication between people with different
language. This change, of course, brings some impacts in the roles of English as a language. English is
not seen as a language for identity anymore. Yet, it functions mainly as a means of communication.
Added to this, the change of the English status as a lingua franca will also impact to the educational
sector especially in English Language Teaching (ELT). With regard to this issue, this paper tries to
present the notion of English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) and its implication to the teaching learning
process especially in Indonesian context.

now we shall look into a common process of DNS Hijacking where DNS Zoning along with

In the following figure , it shows the basic outline of how the domain name system acts and how

When attackers enter into open WiFi or Public accessed networks, they bypass all the Proxy

The biggest challenge that they face as a company is they do not have the room the increase
expenditure by such a vast amount. Currently there is $3,675,000 in promotional dollars allocated as
follows; sales and administration expense (995,000), cooperative advertising programs with retailers
(1,650,000), consumer advertising (562,000) and trade promotion (467,000). adding the $225,000
increase in consumer advertising will not allow the 5% of expected sales for total promo expenditures.
John Bott, the vice president of sales disagreed with the budget allocation and noted that sales
expenses and administration cost were projected to be $65,000 in 2008. This led him to believe that an
additional sales representative would be needed to service company accounts because 50 were being
added. Therefore he estimated this addition would cost at least $70,000 including salary and expenses
in 2008. Bott also stated that That s about $135,000 in additional sales expense that have to be added
to our promotional budget for 2008
My recommendation is that they do not invest the additional $225,000 in consumer advertising.
Considering the additional amount will only be going into magazines which do not provide enough
incentive for a purchase decision from the buyer. I believe that Haverwood should allocate the amount

Contributions Of John Locke
John Locke was born in a small town in England and later became a student at Oxford University
(Connolly, n.d.). At first, Locke had a passion with medicine and spent a lot of his time creating
medicine recipes. In the later years while still at Oxford University, Locke found a passion for natural
philosophy, writing, and politics. According to readings from chapter two, after finding a career in
politics, Locke developed a friendship with the earl of Shaftesbury, Anthony Ashley Cooper, whose
governmental influence declined in 1681 (Schultz Schultz, 2016). Locke was forced to relocate to
Holland for a while after Cooper was involved in a plot against King Charles II. After returning to
England Locke began to write books in religion, economics, and education (Schultz Schultz, 2016). It
wouldn t be long before he became one of the most famous influencers. Locke s interests shifted to the
religious freedom and rights of the citizens to govern themselves. His beliefs and his writings quickly
increased his fame level and before long he was known throughout most of Europe as a champion of
liberalism in government (Schultz Schultz, 2016). While all of Locke s work is relevant, a piece done
in 1690 was of most importance to the field of psychology. One of Locke s most popular pieces was

Analyzing The Stag s Irony In The Funeral Of The Lioness
Another fable that deals with the relationship between classes is, The Funeral of the Lioness , who s
focus is the interactions between king and subordinate. Having his queen recently passed away, the
king held a funeral for the Lioness for all to attend. All are overcome with grief and wept over the
death of the lioness, except the Stag who stand emotionless. Before the king punishes the stag for
insolence, the stag replies that the queen would approve of his behavior and that she is in a better
place; so instead of punishment, the Stag is rewarded for his noble words. Irony is a strong element in
this fable. First off, it is ironic that the Stag says such kind things about the queen, such as calling her

has no reason to mourn the loss of the murderer of his family, but rather that offend the king directly

of false flattery is another form of irony that comments on the noble s eagerness to hear fond words be
spoken about them. One without a large ego could have been capable of detecting the fake sincerity
the Stag expresses, but because the king is accustomed to those around him singing his praises he
takes the Stag s words at face value. The other irony is the rewarding of the Stag for the very same

but he has never asked any of us to go with him, nor have we asked him. In the future I would like to

Through celebrating the Jewish holidays like Rosh Hashanah, Passover, and Yom Kippur, I have been

happens during Passover. The tradition consists of my dad hiding the afikomen, which is a half piece

my siblings and me because we tried to watch my dad very carefully to see where he hid it, but he
somehow always found a way to hide it without us knowing when and where he did so. After the
traditional Passover meal was finished, my siblings and I would race up out of our chairs to go wildly
search for it. Whichever kid found it first was given a prize, and it was usually a few bucks, so we
were always very competitive in trying to find it. Eventually, I wasn t allowed to look for it anymore
because I got too old, which I found very unfair, but my brother and sister loved it because now they

Reflection On Mindfulness
I have a somewhat regular, yet sincere contemplative mindfulness practice that helps me understand
why I experience life the way I do both internally and externally. I get to see my own urges, those I m

mindfulness practices I learned to become in touch with my own urges and to control them through
awareness and self discipline. So, here are a few reflections for your coffee time. As you sip on your

Finally, at the 3rd mindfulness class I took with Daniel, I decided to do the homework he had
suggested to everyone, which was to do one thing we do routinely during the day, mindfully. That is to
be with the experience of it and fully giving it our undivided attention. For example, if we chose

what it felt like, the taste of the tooth paste, what the mind was doing; observe everything about that

in the 1930 s, a time of high unemployment through out America and a time of racism and sexism and

The tension increases as George and Lennie try to out run the men on horses. The music becomes
faster and more exciting. There is a lot of sound in the background such as dogs barking, men
shouting, George telling Lennie to run faster. This increases the tension in the audience. George and
Lennie jump and hide in the river so that the dogs lose there scent. After George and Lennie lose the
men who were after them, they jumped on to a train which was going extremely fast. It is dark and
there are shadows. They had to jump on the train because they had no money and had to run away
from Weed.
There was an atmosphere of danger. There was no music at all except sounds of the train and whistles.
There was minimal lightening so that the setting could blend into the surroundings. There are a range
of camera shots which focus on George and Lennie. These shots show that they are workers and the
state they are in which is fatigued, exhausted and drained. In side the train is only the sound of the
conversation between George and Lennie. This conversation highlights the relationship between
George and Lennie and illustrates who is in control. It also indicates that George is being a father like
figure towards Lennie as he says go to sleep Lennie and take off your coat after Lennie says I m wet .
After that George and Lennie board a grey hound bus in a town, it is day time, with long camera shots

other like a Yin yang relation. In the beginning of the play Austin is dressed in a light blue sport shirt,
light tan cardigan sweater, clean blue jeans and a white tennis shoes. a hard working screenwriter at
his early thirties who has a family, a house and a car; which Austin Symbolized the goals of the
American Dream. On other side, Lee the bigger brother in his early forties dress in a tattered brown
overcoat covered with dust, dark blue baggy suit pants from the salvation army, holes in the soles,
pointed black forties dress shoes scuffed up with no socks. Lee is an alcoholic, a thief, and a person
who likes violence. Austin and Lee has a father who is an alcoholic, who lives on the streets, which
Austin works really hard to avoid being like his father. In the middle of the play after Saul
Kimmer(Hollywood producer) appears between Austin And Lee the roles of both brothers began to
shifted, and at last both brothers ends up being like his father. This play should be produced at the
Voorhees Theater because In life there s many student who likes to compare their success to another,
to worry about what others think about you, and at last they wish to aim higher in life due to the
effects of people around you, but in life you are who you are, there s no reason to change, because at
the end you are still yourself. One of the theme in True West is the curse of

A Narrative Essay On Octavian
Percy was bored, like real bored, and he swears, he will go crazy if he couldn t do anything else other
than being bored for the whole day. Yup, he ll go insane, like Dionysus level of insanity, and that s
saying something! Actually, let s go with Octavian, because Octavian is just a whole new level of
insanity, ugliness, idiocy and some other big words that you can find in the dictionary. Piper and Jason
were out on a date night, Frank was busy trying to turn into a panda to impress Hazel, Hazel was
watching TV and trying to catch up with everything she missed, Nico was too busy eating happy
meals he got from his undead... companions, the Stolls were grounded apparently for accidently
leaving a very realistic jelly spider into the Athena ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her HOMEWORK! Camp doesn t five you homework, the last time he checked, but apparently only
Athena s kids get it, to boost their potential highly . Annabeth thought of it as fun, Percy thought of it
as hell. Annabeth? Mhmm. Annabeth. Yeah? Are you almost done with your homework? Annabeth
turned from her desk to look to her right, where Percy was sprawled on her bed, looking at the ceiling.
I just started, Seaweed Brain. I can t finish all my homework in five minutes. She sighed, looking back
to her stack of papers and textbooks. But you re smart! Not just smart Athenian smart. And you re
Poseidon dumb, but I still have more homework. Can t you take a quick break? Please? Annabeth
turned around from her work for the second time, and felt her lips pull into a grin. Percy was sitting on
the edge of her bed, making his baby seal face. She gave him a wry grin, and tapped her pencil s
eraser against her chin. Should I? She questioned, enjoying Percy s pleading

Why Is It Important To Be Taught In Schools
Students are not being taught good character in school. Students need to be taught character and
participate in clubs to grow their characteristics. Character needs to be taught in schools so that the
students can learn how they are supposed to act or behave. Schools are not teaching their students
character and they are growing up to be immature adults. Parents want what is best for their children
and that is for them to be well educated and behaved. This is important because students are not
behaving well or focusing on doing their work. This causes them to fail or get close to failing.
Students are also rude to other students and that is one thing that a character class may help. Character
is important and should be taught in all schools. Meanwhile, schools should create clubs to grow
characteristics. KIPP is a charter school system that implemented an approach to character education.
The text says that essential traits of mind and habit referred to as character , should be taught because
some schools have begun to foster their students. Reading clubs are spilling ... Show more content on

Many people today that feel that public schools are, at least in part, responsible for providing students
with the education in areas such as morality, ethics, and the good citizenship they need to know. At
this point, character education programs have been created. Most public schools do not have character
education programs, therefore the students that are enrolled in public schools are not learning
character. Answering the call, numerous character education programs have been created by private
organizations, state and local school boards, and corporations that have designed curricula, created
lessons, and provide the tools necessary for schools to provide character education to their students.
Schools are slowly adding character programs to their school to provide the students with an education
that they will use forever

How Heinrich Hertz Changed The World Of Radiology
So Good, It Hertz Heinrich Hertz was a German Physicist who was able to contribute many
discoveries and contributions to the world of Radiology. Hertz was known to have paved the way for
numerous advances in communication technology through the discovery of radio waves and also
confirming the Electromagnetic Theory made by James Clerk Maxwell. Though many people do not
know who Heinrich Hertz was, many know the word hertz (Hz) as a unit of measure of frequency that
was established in Heinrich Hertz honor during 1930. To further expand on the man named Heinrich
Hertz, looking at his early history, his radiologic contributions, and why those contributions were
important gives insight on how he changed the world of Radiology. Heinrich Hertz ... Show more

It all started when Hertz was teaching and was simply showing his students electrical sparks. He soon
began testing out different sparks and seeing how the electricity jumped from each of the wire
receptors. He soon discovered that the vibration from the wires could radiate electromagnetic waves
that could pass through the air invisible. With these findings, Hertz created an apparatus called an
Oscillator. With using the Oscillator, Hertz was able to use high voltage A.C. electricity to create
sparks that could jump from one wire to the other. Thus, Hertz had not only produced radio waves, but
he was also able to detect them also. Once Hertz discovered radio waves, he was easily able to also
prove Maxwell s theory of electromagnetism over the course of three years by doing simple
experiments. By using his Oscillator apparatus, Hertz was able to prove that the waves that were being
produced were a form of electromagnetism because much like light, they could be reflected, refracted,
and produce standing waves. Hertz also was able to discover the Photoelectric Effect during one of his
experiments. Though he did not proceed with this discovery, it was picked up by Albert Einstein.
Einstein was able to win a Nobel Prize in Physics for the Photoelectric Effect even though technically
Hertz had discovered it years

Factors Lead To The Low Standard Of Living In Chad
In Chad, the majority of the population has a low standard of living, this is shown through their high
levels of inequality, poor housing, low standard of health, high infant mortality rate, high corruption,
high levels of malnutrition, lack of overall education and high poverty levels. Its gdp per capita (PPP),
has relatively remained stagnant over the last four decades according to IMF world economic outlook
data published in 2016. It shows that Chad s share of worlds gdp (PPP) was approximately 0.02% in
1980 s and is 0.03% in 2017. This stagnant growth in the standard of living in Chad is momentous as
it exemplifies that standard of living 35 years ago has remained constant and is roughly the same in
present times. This is also evident through its high poverty headcount, over half of the population is
still living below the poverty line, meaning that the citizens of Chad cannot afford adequate housing
and vaccines and other basic necessities. All of these factors contribute to the low standard of living in
Chad, which is a direct result of Chad s lack of economic growth and development.
Whilst most underdeveloped nations have unemployment rates ranging from 10% to 20%. Chad has
an even higher unemployment rate, at about 68.2% of the total labour force. This proportion seems to
be lower in reality as its difficult to measure unemployment in an undeveloped economy as it doesn t
account for people working in family business or in farms. Substantial dependence on

sexual.

  • 3. How Organizations Can Move Beyond The First Steps Of... ABSTRACT Change is best carried through by the many, not by just the hero leader. Ten challenges to the initiation and sustaining of change are elaborated, illustrated by a rich range of case studies and supported by a practical checklist. We all know that change and innovation are of the essence for organisations today and in future. The bad news, according to Peter Senge, is that most change initiatives fail. The good news is that Senge and his co authors think they know why and what to do about it. Senge is the guru of the learning organisation whose previous book The Fifth Discipline was hailed as a groundbreaking book about organisational transformation. Senge and his co authors, all of them change experts, call this new book a Fifth Discipline resource . The aim of the book is to show how organisations can move beyond the first steps of corporate change and sustain the momentum. The problems that cause the failure of change projects cannot be solved by more expert advice, better consultants or more committed managers, say Senge and co. They stem from our most basic ways of thinking. Unless these change, new initiatives will only produce the same unproductive types of action. The fundamental problem is that most change initiatives deal only with growth processes and not with the limiting processes. We need to change our way of thinking so that we can understand the forces that impede progress and develop strategies for dealing with them. One of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Sociological Explanations Of Gender Display By Goffman s This next section provides a general discussion of Goffman s (1976) gender display . This is used to investigate how gender is represented through interaction, and therefore be seen as natural, while it s being produced as a socially organised achievement . Femininity and masculinity are viewed as prototypes of essential expression something that can be conveyed in any social situation and yet something that strikes at the most basic characterisation of the individual (1976, p. 75). These are seen as meaningful behaviour which are evidence of our essential natures . Goffman (1979, p. 69 70) viewed displays as conventionalised acts organised as two part exchanges in which the existence or non existence of symmetry could initiate inferiority ... More importantly, Kessler and McKenna (1978, p. 1 6) made a significant argument that genitalia isn t revealed to society on a day to day basis; still we carry on observing a world of two naturally sexed human beings. It is the assumption that measures are required that supplies the basis for sex classification. They argue gender is cultural occurrences, rather than a group of characteristics or ways of acting. Parents may think as long as their children are drinking beer instead of doing drug s its okay. People in America do not want to wake up to the fact that alcohol is a drug and it does kill our youth. Youth need to be educated on the affects alcohol can have on their bodies, and parents and communities need to play a role in their education. Contrary to popular belief, youth do drink alone just like some adults do. They drink to change their mood, alleviate boredom, and to handle stress. Many youth will drink anything as they don t realize the difference in alcohol content between hard liquor, beer, or wine (Novello, 1997). Even if teenagers attempt to read the labels on alcoholic beverages, they may be confused due to obscure labeling. High school students drink 35% of all the wine coolers consumed in the United States and they believe beer has a higher alcohol content than wine coolers. According to the 2006 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), in the past year, 32.9 percent of the youths surveyed from age 12 to 17 had used alcohol. According to the 2005 NSDUH survey, 74.3 percent of high school students nationwide had already consumed one or more drinks in their lifetime. • 6. The Youth Of A New Country 1. Grabbing people s attention with certain programs can be a hard task to achieve, especially if they don t know your language that well, or they are newcomers to your country. The way I would reach out to the newcomer youth in the Greater Toronto area would be creating a flier to post around schools and public places to promote the program, this way the more instances that people see the flier, the more interested in it they become. Another way of grabbing the attention of newcomers to pull them into coming to our program would be giving out packages explaining to the parents of the children what our program can benefit to their children who are being welcomed into a new country. This makes sure the child s parents are aware of the programs that the YMCA has for them, plus give them a chance to look over and contemplate if they believe it is going to be a good opportunity for their children. Lastly, I would develop a presentation, and go into the schools most populated with newcomer kids to introduce them to the types of programs that they can get involved in. I would even ask for it to be held outside of normal school hours so their parents would be able to sit in on the presentation so they are able to get the same information. There is one major barrier the I need to consider while developing ways to promote the YMCA programs. That barrier is communication. Sure, you could still share files back then, but this required the physical act of getting the disk, transferring it to your computer, and then copying the file. All this took a relatively large amount of effort compared to the copy and paste methods of copying files today. After a while around 1995, a small underground network of file sharing developed through the use of a medium known as mIRC. m IRC is basically the early version of today s chat rooms with the exception that most users identities can be kept hidden from one another while still allowing the users to exchange information freely. We are typically seen as being on the left , also called liberals, or on the right , called conservatives. These parties and their policies, however, are becoming more polarized and are attracting the more extreme members of their party and not the moderate voters, which make up the majority of the voters. By setting policies that the moderate voters would agree with can help political parties gain more voters, as long as they do not lean too far away from their base groups, or their strongest and more extreme voters. Republicans would gain supporters by changing their policies on free trade agreements, immigration, healthcare, and wall street to those that are more similar to the most of the public. How Did King Henry Viii Change Over Time 481 years ago change was stirring in the court of King Henry the Eighth and The Roman Catholic Church, this was no ordinary change though this kind of change is the kind that changed religious history. Leading up the English reformation King Henry was married to Catherine of Aragon and had many attempts at giving birth to a male heir as a result of this King Henry began to tire of this married and looked elsewhere to Anne Boleyn and became what historians refer to as infatuated with her, wanting an annulment Henry asked the Pope at the time Clement VII to grant him one and utilized his knowledge of the Old Testament to give reason to his request stating that Leviticus 20:16 said If a man shall take his brother s wife, it is an impurity; he hath uncovered his brother s nakedness; they shall be childless Henry also referred to his marriage with Catherine as blighted in the eyes of God However the pope did not grant one because it goes against the Catholic faith, one underling reason is the fact that one of the most powerful monarchs in Europe was Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor who s kingdom spanned over Spain, Germany and Italy this accumulated to nearly 4 million square kilometers in land. Charles was the nephew of Catherine and if an annulment was to occur it was likely that Charles would take it to offence causing the Western Catholic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Literary Analysis Of Pride And Prejudice It is a truth universally acknowledged that Pride and Prejudice is the most memorable, riveting and heartwarming romance novels in history. Diving into the 1813 lifestyle from a modern viewpoint raises the political correctness alarm: marriage as a means of survival for women, the rigidity of birth and the intimidating, cruel class system. In 2017, Regency England in multiple ways seems utterly daunting, nevertheless, Austen cleverly and entertainingly exposes these harsh customaries to ridicule. Mrs. Bennet has a sole trivial aspiration for her 5 young daughters Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty and Lydia to unite in wedlock. And lustful, engrossing events arise from the first pleasurable encounter with Jane and the rich handsome suitor Mr. Bingely as well as the meeting of Mr. Bingley s conceited friend Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth who ironically experience hate at first sight. For many, Pride and Prejudice is a highly satisfying love story that has importantly laid the basic foundations for romantic literature. So, the love story mainly endorses the romance genre expectations for a modern audience through its inclusion of the vital romance ingredients, namely our archetypal hero, heroine, engaging obstacles, conflict, tension and ultimate happy ending. Annabeth turned from her desk to look to her right, where Percy was sprawled on her bed, looking at the ceiling. I just started, Seaweed Brain. I can t finish all my homework in five minutes. She sighed, looking back to her stack of papers and textbooks. But you re smart! Not just smart Athenian smart. And you re Poseidon dumb, but I still have more homework. Can t you take a quick break? Please? Annabeth turned around from her work for the second time, and felt her lips pull into a grin. Percy was sitting on the edge of her bed, making his baby seal face. • 42. Why Is It Important To Be Taught In Schools Students are not being taught good character in school. Students need to be taught character and participate in clubs to grow their characteristics. Character needs to be taught in schools so that the students can learn how they are supposed to act or behave. Schools are not teaching their students character and they are growing up to be immature adults. Parents want what is best for their children and that is for them to be well educated and behaved. This is important because students are not behaving well or focusing on doing their work. This causes them to fail or get close to failing. Students are also rude to other students and that is one thing that a character class may help. Character is important and should be taught in all schools. Meanwhile, schools should create clubs to grow characteristics. KIPP is a charter school system that implemented an approach to character education. The text says that essential traits of mind and habit referred to as character , should be taught because some schools have begun to foster their students. Reading clubs are spilling ... Many people today that feel that public schools are, at least in part, responsible for providing students with the education in areas such as morality, ethics, and the good citizenship they need to know. At this point, character education programs have been created. Most public schools do not have character education programs, therefore the students that are enrolled in public schools are not learning character. Answering the call, numerous character education programs have been created by private organizations, state and local school boards, and corporations that have designed curricula, created lessons, and provide the tools necessary for schools to provide character education to their students. Schools are slowly adding character programs to their school to provide the students with an education that they will use forever ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. How Heinrich Hertz Changed The World Of Radiology So Good, It Hertz Heinrich Hertz was a German Physicist who was able to contribute many discoveries and contributions to the world of Radiology. Hertz was known to have paved the way for numerous advances in communication technology through the discovery of radio waves and also confirming the Electromagnetic Theory made by James Clerk Maxwell. Though many people do not know who Heinrich Hertz was, many know the word hertz (Hz) as a unit of measure of frequency that was established in Heinrich Hertz honor during 1930. To further expand on the man named Heinrich Hertz, looking at his early history, his radiologic contributions, and why those contributions were important gives insight on how he changed the world of Radiology. Heinrich Hertz ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It all started when Hertz was teaching and was simply showing his students electrical sparks. He soon began testing out different sparks and seeing how the electricity jumped from each of the wire receptors. He soon discovered that the vibration from the wires could radiate electromagnetic waves that could pass through the air invisible. With these findings, Hertz created an apparatus called an Oscillator. With using the Oscillator, Hertz was able to use high voltage A.C. electricity to create sparks that could jump from one wire to the other. Thus, Hertz had not only produced radio waves, but he was also able to detect them also. Once Hertz discovered radio waves, he was easily able to also prove Maxwell s theory of electromagnetism over the course of three years by doing simple experiments. By using his Oscillator apparatus, Hertz was able to prove that the waves that were being produced were a form of electromagnetism because much like light, they could be reflected, refracted, and produce standing waves. Hertz also was able to discover the Photoelectric Effect during one of his experiments. Though he did not proceed with this discovery, it was picked up by Albert Einstein. Einstein was able to win a Nobel Prize in Physics for the Photoelectric Effect even though technically Hertz had discovered it years ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Factors Lead To The Low Standard Of Living In Chad In Chad, the majority of the population has a low standard of living, this is shown through their high levels of inequality, poor housing, low standard of health, high infant mortality rate, high corruption, high levels of malnutrition, lack of overall education and high poverty levels. Its gdp per capita (PPP), has relatively remained stagnant over the last four decades according to IMF world economic outlook data published in 2016. It shows that Chad s share of worlds gdp (PPP) was approximately 0.02% in 1980 s and is 0.03% in 2017. This stagnant growth in the standard of living in Chad is momentous as it exemplifies that standard of living 35 years ago has remained constant and is roughly the same in present times. This is also evident through its high poverty headcount, over half of the population is still living below the poverty line, meaning that the citizens of Chad cannot afford adequate housing and vaccines and other basic necessities. All of these factors contribute to the low standard of living in Chad, which is a direct result of Chad s lack of economic growth and development. Whilst most underdeveloped nations have unemployment rates ranging from 10% to 20%. Chad has an even higher unemployment rate, at about 68.2% of the total labour force. This proportion seems to be lower in reality as its difficult to measure unemployment in an undeveloped economy as it doesn t account for people working in family business or in farms.
