Consequences Of Underage Drinking
Underage drinking has been a growing concern among the public. As society idolizes the party life
style, adolescence seem to be more encouraged to join the movement. Because the youth of todays
generations are not aware of the responsibilities that come along with drinking, they are ignorant to
the fact that there are ramification that come along with underage drinking. Though there are factors
that play along with the juvenile party trend, as a community, we must come together and be aware of
the poor results these actions can cause. Underage drinking has become an outrage; its use among
teenagers has consequences such as brain damage, addictiveness, and safety risks. Teenagers can tend
to view alcohol as a conversation starter, helping them loosen up around people; but it can cause harsh
brain damage. In spite the reality that alcohol can affect several parts of the brain while drinking
underage, the Hippocampus and the Prefrontal Lobe, are especially susceptible to alcohol damage.
Hippocampus is in control of memory and learning, Studies of adolescents show that ... Show more

As though the youth don t already make inferior choices without alcohol, with it, the results can be
fatalistic. ...about 1155 persons under 21 die every year in car crashes involving underage drinking.
(Consumer Information, 2013). This is proof of how alcohol is poison to the youth, dominating their
behavior, and becoming the cause to such young deaths. With the help of alcohol, teens awareness is
being altered. In 2008, almost 40,000 youth ages 15 20 were admitted to hospitals due to alcohol
problems. (Consumer Information, 2013). The numbers review the risks put in place by teens
consuming alcohol. If the damage done is not lethal, it very well can still be life changing. From
broken bones, to possibly killing or injuring someone else, everything can change in one

Purpose Of Genesis
This analysis will serve the purpose of analyzing Genesis chapter one, two, and three as well as
Romans chapters one, two, and three. The author will incorporate various connections between the
chapters read and, will also, make applications on how families, churches, or society can use these
verses in their lives.
Background Information The author would say that the background to the creation story is one of the
easier ones to grasp. Simply because: that is when the world began. I would hope that, as a Christian
in a Christian school, this is not a mind blowing conclusion. According to Alex Varughese (2006), The
book of Genesis is the first book of the Torah or the Pentateuch (pg. 64). The meaning of the book of
Genesis means as it sounds; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Christians were set apart until the sin of Adam and Eve. After the sin, Christians no longer had the
easy way out. Christians have to work hard, not only on work, but also in their presentation of
Christianity. The second connection to the sin of Adam and Eve would be the list that is given in
Romans of all the sin that the people of Rome are committing. It is no coincidence that worse and
worse consequences to sin have come about since the fall of man. There is no one who understands;
there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away they have together become worthless; there is
not one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit, the
poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to
shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is not fear
of God before their eyes (Romans 3:11 18, New International Version). The most prominent
correlation between Genesis and Romans would be that sin is worse than it was at the fall of man and
just as Adam and Eve sinned; man is still sinning. No longer is their simply disobedience; now there is
a list of the sins that man is committing and willingly displaying for anyone to see. Adam and Eve
were trying to hide their sins, the people of Rome are sinning for full

Demographic Characteristics In Research
2. METHODOLOGY
The methodology that we adopted in the present study consists of first our research site, then the
population and afterwards the sampling and analysis method.
2.1 Research Site
Our research site was Collège Privé MBF d Abobo. This school of secondary education was at its first
participation as an examination center in July 2017. The management of the school made available 25
classrooms in order to welcome all the candidates of the baccalauréat 2017 .
2.2 Research Population
A total of fifty proctors were assigned to the exam center. For the present research, twelve of them
were available for the interview that took place at the end of the exam. They consist of two
accountants, two secretaries, one office clerk, four ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

3.1.3 Implications on Proctoring in General
The fact of being a non remunerated activity makes it non attractive to the majority of public school
teachers, who refuse to participate.
3.1.4 What Might Compel the Private Staff Accept what the Public Staff Refuse?
The proctors from private schools revealed that their colleagues from public schools are too rich to
accept to work for almost a month to earn the equivalence of USD 100. To our question why do you
accept such a small amount? the following verbatim summarizes all their ideas:
« Est ce que nous on n a le choix? Moi, j ai ma maitrise, avec ça, on me paye 60,000 par mois parce
que y a pas travail. En plus, Mai, Juin, Juillet, Aout et Septembre, pas de salaire. Je vis comment si je
refuse l argent ? Eux, ils sont à l aise avec leur gros salaire que l Etat leur donne tous les mois. Ils vont
faire quoi avec l argent de bac? »
The English translation gives approximately the following:
Do we really have the choice? With my masters degree I m paid cfa 60,000 monthly because there are

Grammatical Analysis To Chisholm
Lexical and grammatical analysis Avoidance of agency or attribution of agency to collectivities and
not individuals, is a characteristic feature of Chisholm s speech. She tends to use generalized and
impersonal constructions. For instance, in the opening phrases of the address, she puts forth the
following example: [...] when a young woman graduates from college and starts looking for a job, she
is likely to have a frustrating and demeaning experience ahead of her. If she walks into an office for an
interview, the first question she will be asked is, Do you type? The underlying assumption of this
fragment is that all women are generally thought to be only capable of performing tasks that involve

Causes And Treatment Of Chronic Illness
Throughout the past century the world has seen a drastic shift in not only life expectancy but in quality
of life. Medicine has become incredibly advanced and thus life expectancy rates have increased over
the years. However, it must also be recognized that there are now higher rates of chronic illness.
Chronic illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, arthritis and heart disease are the leading causes of
disability throughout the United States. As of 2012, about half of all adults 117 million people had one
or more chronic health conditions (CDC 2016). People with a chronic illness essentially have a
disease or disorder that requires a lifetime of coping. It is not uncommon for people to often become
so ill that they are unable to work. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a study conducted by Brown, Sheffield, Leary and Robinson (2003) the researchers tested the
association between social support and levels of pain. The study tested 101 undergraduate students.
The subjects were randomly assigned to one of three groups. The groups were required to press a cold
presser that delivered a small pain and after, rate their pain on a 10 point scale. Each group was either
paired with a friend, a stranger or carried out the task alone. The study concluded that the individuals
who used the cold presser while another person was in the room, stranger or friend, reported lower
levels of pain. Evidently there is a connection between social support and pain tolerance. This
information is extremely important because chronic illness is essentially a diagnosis of lifelong pain.
If social support can improve this pain, these patients could improve their quality of life. In a study
conducted by Lopez Martinez, Esteve Zarazaga and Ramirez Maestre (2008) the effects of social
support on pain were further studied. In their study, the purpose was to test the relation between
perceived social support and the coping responses to pain in those suffering from chronic pain or
illness. The study consisted of 117 subjects recruited from a Clinical Pain Unit at a hospital in Spain.
The average subject was around 54 years old and mostly consisted of women. In order to measure the

Plagiarism Essay
Plagiarism. We do it everyday. But most people don t even know that they do it. Plagiarism is the act
of taking the work or a idea of someone else, and passing it off as your own (Webster). Now, there are
two main types of plagiarism: intentional and unintentional. Intentional plagiarism is when someone
copies words, ideas, or phrases and purposefully pass it off as their own, all without giving credit to
the correct source. On the other hand, unintentional plagiarism is when someone cites poorly, or if
they didn t know that someone else had an idea, and they pass it off as their own, thinking they were
the first to come up with it. The issue with plagiarism and the United States, is whether or not America

Each state will have a certain number of representatives, and also pay direct taxes, on the basis of
population size (US Constitution 1 2). This excerpt from the US Constitution talks a lot about power
being divided in the government, by having three different branches, judicial, executive, and
legislative. The judiciary is the Supreme Court, which is addressed about later in the US Constitution,
the executive is the president, and the legislative is the Senate and the House of Representatives. They
also talk about power being divided in the Declaration of Independence. In the Declaration of
Independence it states Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the
consent of the governed...He has obstructed the Administration of Justice...He has dissolved
Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the
people (Declaration of Independence). It doesn t directly state it, because the Declaration of
Independence talks about how the king of England is unfair, and how he rules poorly. When they state
what the king is doing wrong, the reader can infer that the US will do the opposite. So, when they say
that the king is dissolving the Representative Houses, the reader can assume that the US will not
dissolve the Representative Houses repeatedly like the king previously did. However, famous foreign
documents talked about power being divided way before the US did. For

The Fence Between Bonnie And Amanda s Property
The issues generated in consideration of the contested property line between Bonnie and Amanda s
property include: i) Conventional boundaries: Does the fence between Bonnie and Amanda s house
constitute a conventional boundary? ii) Improvements by Mistake of Title: Whether the improvements
made by Bonnie constitute an entitlement to the land.
i) Conventional Boundaries
In circumstances where the true location of a boundary is unascertainable, the conventional line
doctrine provides abutting property owners the ability to create one. After a conventional boundary
has been legitimately established, Robertson v. Alberta provides that the property owners maintain the
security to rely on the boundary to lawfully develop the land under the ... Show more content on

In fact, the previous Kardashian owners assumed that the fence was an accurate indication of the
property line, which they thought was located directly between the houses and therefore never
attempted to ascertain the actual location of the boundary. If the uncertainty of the boundary was never
acknowledged, the principles found in Bea v. Robinson finds that a conventional boundary could not
be existing because was no attempt to ascertain the actual boundary. Bea v. Robinson states that this
attempt is a mandatory element in the foundation of a conventional boundary. Even in the presence of
strong evidence that the boundary was agreed upon and treated as a boundary, it seems likely that the
test for conventional boundaries must fail in consideration of the fact that the surveyor Amanda hired
was able to ascertain the true boundaries which were not consistent with that of the fence. If the
doctrine of conventional lines fails, the foundational principle (lecture) of estoppel provides no
security for Bonnie in the reliance on the boundary to build. ii) Improvements by Mistake of Title
Under the conditions that a person genuinely believes land is their own and is mistaken, statue law
provides an equitable remedy when individuals have invested in lasting improvements to the land. The

Donald Trump s tax plan would enact a number of tax reforms that would both lower marginal tax
rates on workers and significantly reduce the cost of capital. These changes in the incentives to work
and invest would greatly increase the U.S. economy s size in the long run, leading to higher incomes
for taxpayers at all income levels. The plan would also be a large tax cut, which would increase the
federal government s deficit by over $10 trillion, both on a static and dynamic basis. Finally, it is
worth noting that the Taxes and Growth Model does not take into account the fiscal or economic
effects of interest on debt. It also does not require budgets to balance over the long term. It also does

The Importance Of Being Knocked Down
I believe it s okay to be knocked down, just make sure you fight your way back up and rise stronger

the consequences. Just like if you don t make the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Wanderer And The Dream Of The Rood Comparison Analysis
In the poems The Wanderer and The Dream of the Rood, anonymous authors give way to the idea that
an Almighty God will solve every problem a person has by doing two things: 1) drawing upon the
memories of a warrior who has lost everything near and dear to him due to war, and 2) entering the
dream of a man who has been exiled and isolated. Each piece takes its reader through the trials and
tribulations that one may not relate to in this era, yet the reader is still there alongside the character
wanting them to find peace with their world and themselves. Initially, it is believed that the characters
will overcome their hardships and achieve the happiness they seek. However, as the reader delves
deeper into the character s story, there is an overwhelming sense of incompleteness. What actually
happens at the end of each piece is not written in stone telling us the story is not whole nor has a
conclusion been reached. The intrapersonal thoughts being shared with the reader reveal the obstacles
that keep an overall wholeness from occurring. Starting with The Wanderer, the speaker begins his tale
by reminiscing upon his trials and tribulations of which he has suffered a great deal and longs for
relief, the Almighty s mercy (118). He has lost his friends and no longer has anyone to confide in,
forcing him to be alone with his thoughts: So I must hold in the thoughts of my heart (118). In the
midst of his grieving, the Wanderer recalls a joyous occasions, such as when his friend and lord helped
him to the feast (119), only to realize that what once was, is no longer. He finds comfort in his dreams,
longing to be back with his liege lord again only to awaken and have reality come shattering down
upon him (119). However, he comes to the conclusion that through hardship and suffering, one
matures, grows, learns his place in life and how a good man holds his words back, tells his woes not
too soon, baring his inner heart before knowing the best way (120). Throughout this piece, the
Wanderer is struggling with losing much of what made his life whole and debating whether or not the
war was worth the suffering he is faced with with no one by his side. There is a constant battle
between longing for those

Impact Of The Affordable Care Act
Policy Background When the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was enacted on March 23rd, 2010, it
transformed the lives of people all over the US, in states who expanded. It allowed families to qualify
for government programs such as Medicaid, CHIP, and government subsidies, and for young adults to
stay on their parent s insurance until the age of 26. The ACA was a sign of relief and good news for all
but two groups, lawful permanent residents and undocumented immigrants. In 2012, DACA recipients
under the DREAM Act also became part of the groups excluded, leaving more than 6.5 million unable
to access affordable care. In order to make a change, the New Mexico Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham,

The HEAL for Immigrant Women and Families Act of 2017 is seeking to expand access to health care
services from the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to lawful permanent residents (green card holders) and

intended to break down barriers for women and their families by expanding the definition of lawfully

subparagraph (A) to expand the definition of lawfully present to include such an individual who is

these women, researchers found that 51% live below the federal poverty level (FDL) and are often

definition in the subparagraph (A) of the Social Security Act of 1903, it would expand eligibility for

Journey Motif Essay
In literature, the Journey is often a metaphor for discovery. The journey motif is used in Coleridge s
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. It is also shown in Hawthorne s My Kinsman, Major Molineux and
Young Goodman Brown. In these stories, each main character changes sometime between the
beginning and the end of the story. In addition, religion plays a part in each of these stories. Typically,
in journey literature the hero encounters several obstacles that he or she must overcome.
In Coleridge s The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, the Mariner shows negativity. The Mariners moral
vision is so impaired that his comparisons are persistently pessimistic. This pessimism is seen
repeatedly in the similes that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By this, the Mariner shows the beginning of his attitude change. At this point in the poem, the Mariner
s fate begins to change when he is rescued by a hermit. The Mariner endures tremendous physical
agony and starts to recognize the importance of all living things after his lowest point, the curse. An
example of this is when the spell breaks at the point in which the snakes are blessed. As he regains a
sense of beauty, the Mariner observes the snakes and realizes how beautiful they are. He begins to see
things brightly and the mariner s comparisons and references are less pessimistic and dark.
Hawthorne s My Kinsman, Major Molineux, Robin s Journey is clear. Robin is on a journey to find
Major Molineux and it is his first journey to town. It is ironic about his shrewd youth; as he continues
his journey, he becomes shrewd. His journey is an acquisition of learning, especially since he only has
the education of a youth. When Robin goes into the tavern, he is guided by a murmur of voices. He is
confident enough when speaking to the innkeeper that he is befitted to be the Major s relative. Robin
doesn t understand parts of his journey with the innkeeper as his guide. As the story moves on, Robin
starts to be less confident and instead, more cautious. Doubt begins to seep in. Although he feels
sympathy, he gives into the opportunities that he has. Robin begins to get desperate and starts to

Positive Advantages Of Millennials Staying Home During...
Advantages of Millennials Staying Home during College
For all generations, including millennials, the majority of students seeking a post secondary degree
have the traditional college experience. The traditional college experience includes students that live
on campus in a dormitory. Millennials take longer than past generations to become independent and
reach adulthood because they are still living with their parents. Many positive factors lead millennials
to stay home: cheaper living expenses, less stress, and the ability to focus on their education. There are
also many advantages for millennials living at home for college over millennials living in a dorm.
Living at home allows students to focus on schoolwork instead of maintaining a dorm or other
distractions. Parents can teach their children responsibilities and aid with their college work while they
stay at home. While millennials who move out experience independence at an earlier age, they pick up
negative habits such as addictions that hinder their chance of being successful. Millennials who live at
home during college have a greater advantage over students moving out because they will have
superior education, financial security, responsibility, and no harmful habits to become successful and
prosperous individuals.
Additionally, millennials staying at home during college instead of living independently is an
advantage over living alone because these millennials will eventually become autonomous, successful

The Importance Of Gender Equality In Education
All around the world, generations of children have grown up with a history of male leadership. Gender
equality has always been and continues to be a struggle, but with more awareness being shed on this
problem, it has been improving on a local and global scale. However, governments still lack the
gender diversity in their leadership positions that is needed by today s standards and expectations.
With more activism on a local and global level, future generations will grow up becoming leaders
without limitations due to their gender.
I have been able to grow up in a fortunate environment with a strong sense of equal gender
opportunity, but there was always the absence of equal gender icons to look up to when I was growing
up. Most textbooks and lessons were filled with the accomplishments of male scientists, explorers,
artists, and most of all, leaders. It is essential that we educate children at a young age the importance
for the push towards gender equality in leadership positions. After all, it is difficult for little girls to
believe teachers when say that they can grow up to be anything they want to be when there are male
clad posters of the United States presidents hanging up on the wall behind them. We cannot change the
faces of the past to match our egalitarian expectations, but we can add an equal mix of genders to the
curriculums and environments that all children grow up with to encourage them to change the future.

Factory Farming And Its Effects On Our Health

Factory Farming and how our food is affecting our health , the environment and the cruelty toward the

products and meat products, they are quite the opposite. Factory Farm is a modern farm where they
keep a large sum of livestock such as cattles , poultry, and fish in one area. According to ASPCA over
99% of farm animals in the U.S. are raised in factory farms for food. I had never realized how clueless

coli, obesity and many more. What constantly strikes me is the way they throw the animals waste in
the lagoon which causes air and water pollution and then pay fines for the violation because their
profit seems more important than other lives.
The problem is that today, everything we eat has meat in it. Many Americans love a juicy beef burger
with a side of fries or a hot dog at a summer bbq. In the article A Nation Of Meat Eaters: See How It
All Adds Up which was heard on Morning Edition reports that U.S has slightly dropped the meat
consumption per person to 270.7 pounds in the recent years, but we still consume more meat per
person than the rest of the country except for the Luxumbourgers and chicken is the number one meat
of choice after the beef consumption was declining in the 1970s (Aubrey, Charles, Wertheimer). The
demand for meat and dairy product is so high from the consumers that the company is coming with
new ideas to add meat and dairy product in their products, for example, Burger King came up with
Chicken fries then Mac and Cheetos ; today donut shops offer bacon donuts, the hot dog stands now
sells bacon wrapped hot dogs and the list goes on. You will hardly see any company coming up with

Land Inequality In Guatemala
Land ownership and distribution are extremely unequal in Guatemala. This is immensely unfair
because 2% of landowners hold 65% of the arable land ( Guatemala Country ). Due to these extreme
numbers, the distribution of land is one of the most unequal in the hemisphere ( Guatemala Country ).
As a result of this, lower class citizens have no way of earning money other than taking a, usually
laborious and low paying, job. Not only is this causing a low quality of life for many Guatemalans,
this is also contributing greatly the chronic poverty in Guatemala. The fact that Guatemalan farm
owners are not using their farmland is another issue. This is an unfortunate situation because a greater
profit could be made if the extra land was in use,

Japan Imperialism
Japan Within the History of Empires Japan s history has been mostly accounted as a history of a
homogeneous national entity in the post war historiography. Yet as Andre Schmid and Jordan Sand
contest, this notion is replete with problems. Not only does this interpretation gloss over the historical
fact of Japan as an imperialist and colonialist power, but it also dismisses the dynamic embedded in
history that shaped the trajectory of Japan from an empire to a nation state as seen today. This paper
will briefly discuss the question of Japan s national history and argues for a reconsideration of Japan s
historical position within the history of empires by drawing this week s readings. There is no doubt
that Japan was once an empire and an imperialist as well as a colonialist power. James Huffman s
definition of colonialism and imperialism gives a concise account: while imperialism refers to tangible
or intangible dominance and colonialism caters more to concrete extra territories, they are not
exclusive to each other. Although not until the acquisition of Taiwan in 1895 was Japan as a formal
imperialist/colonial power established, its exertion of power in Hokkaido and Okinawa could be
traced as preceding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Cooper argues, the emergence of nation states is only a recent phenomenon, a result of the
permeable boundaries between empires and other types of political entities within the dynamic world
politics. The transformation from an empire to a nation state is not an inevitable result of the European
experience. Neither is the historical trajectory of Japan. Its abrupt change from a formal empire to a
state is actually a product of imperial intersections which brought about the collisions among the
empires and led to the defeat and eradication of Japan s imperialist/colonialist

Teaching Reading Comprehension Support For Students With Adhd
ADHD and Comprehension
Problem Statement
There is a general problem in providing effective reading comprehension support for students labeled
with ADHD. Despite many programs and modifications in place for students labeled with ADHD to
become as successful as their unlabeled peers, recent studies have demonstrated that students labeled
with ADHD continuously fall short of their peers in many facets of reading comprehension. This
problem has negatively impacted students labeled with ADHD in a multitude of ways during their
academic careers which in turn could lead into lifelong difficulties with reading and comprehension. It
is imperative for teachers to understand the causes that add to the students challenges to appropriately
offer remediation. A possible cause of this problem is not having identified which instructional
strategies and interventions are most effective when teaching reading comprehension to students
labeled with ADHD in the in elementary and middle school grades. A study which investigates the
comprehension deficits of students with ADHD, and identifies the most effective instructional
strategies and interventions in reading comprehension for these students may prove to be a step in the
right direction could remedy the situation.

Technology and Us According to Nicholas Carr
Every morning I wake up searching my bed for my phone. Flipping sheets and pillows until my phone
appears. I lay back in bed and check my Facebook, Snapchat and Reddit. Telling myself that i ll get
out of bed in fifteen minutes but I get absorbed into my phone and that fifteens minutes turn into thirty
minutes. I start to do the rest of chemistry homework but in five minutes I lose my concentration and I
reach for my phone without thinking. I end up doing my homework last minute before class. I always
tell myself that I got to do my homework right after school. But that never happens because the same
thing that always happens in the morning, Its a endless cycle. While I was typing up this essay, I
thought of batman and went to Netflix and watched Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Five hours
wasted that i could ve used for homework. Some people self diagnose themselves with ADHD and
blame their attention span and willingness to learn on ADHD. I blame it on the internet and ourselves.
According to Nicholas Carr, people are losing their attention span to fast because of sites like google.
Nicholas Carr say that something is tinkering with his mind, he can feel it. Just as he quoted the scene
from the Odyssey movie when the astronaut is taking the memory out Hal the computer. He compares
to himself when he reads a book, after three pages he loses his concentration and tries to look for
something else to do. He says this happens because that information is so easy to

On April 20th 2010 an explosion on an oil ridge of the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, was the cause of
the greatest environmental disaster in history of the United States. This explosion took the lives of
eleven men who were working on the ridge, and also ruptured an oil line, which dumped more than

the 1990s. This is true despite it being one of the less developed nations in Europe at that time. By

especially important after the formation of Europe s borderless Schengen Area. It has also contributed
to the country s transition to an immigrant receiving nation. Greece has become a common route for

Diamondback Moth Research Paper
Every year farmers crops are subject to droughts, floods, storms, and so much more. But one of the
biggest problems that seem to be plaguing the agricultural industry, specifically the cabbage and
lettuce industry, is pests. One pest in particular is the diamondback moth, and it has been wreaking
havoc all over New York. However, all is not lost; there still will be cabbage and lettuce in the grocery
store. The reason for this? Scientists have come up with an effective new way to manage the
diamondback moth, and it isn t reliant on pesticides. It uses genes. But, best of all, it won t be one
farmer paying for one treatment. It will be a universal movement, and this movement has the
possibility to revolutionize the crucifer, or, in more simple terms, the cabbage and lettuce market. ...

The diamondback moth is an invasive species that is believed to have originated in Europe. Since it
was not originally native to New York, it has few natural predators, so the population can easily spiral
out of control. It is brown and tan in appearance and is somewhat elongated in shape. Females lay
approximately 150 eggs at a time, but they can lay up to 300. In addition, the moth only lives for up to
16 days. This may not seem like a long time to us because we live for decades, but the diamondback
moth is laying eggs for ten out of those sixteen days (Capinera, 2000). Now think about it. That s a lot
of larvae in a short amount of time. This can be a big problem for farmers, especially because the
problem comes in the form of a common moth. There are so many moth varieties in New York that it
is almost impossible to know all about each one, and that is why farmers like me who live all around
New York have an even tougher

Football should not be done away with in high school because it tends to build character, is good for

The Problem Of Judicial Review
There is nothing controversial about saying, as Alexander Bickel did in The Least Dangerous Branch
in 1962, that judicial review is a counter majoritarian force. When one gives an unelected judiciary the
power to declare null and void laws enacted by popularly elected representatives, there automatically
exists the possibility that those jurists will rule counter to the wishes of a majority. To be sure, the
existence of this judicial power creates fundamental problems in a constitutional democracy, and
many forests have been felled in the scholarly quest to analyze those problems. As Bickel observed,
the counter majoritarian nature of judicial review is the root difficulty in the American judicial system.
He also noted, however, that this force is an ineluctable reality. It is therefore misleading to argue that,
empirical studies of judicial review have consistently found that Bickel s difficulty does not actually
exist. The difficulty of which Bickel wrote did, and most definitely does continue to exist. Unpacking
the socio political factors that influence the way in which the difficulty manifests itself in judicial
decision making has prompted the aforementioned studies. However, those studies have never shown,
because they never could show, that the difficulty, as Bickel defined it, does not actually exist. If we
view The Least Dangerous Branch as a monologue on the problematic counter majoritarian nature of
judicial review in America s constitutional

Housing Affordability in Australia Essay
Background
Housing Affordability in Australia has become the focus point for urban planners in recent years. In
particular, South East Queensland (SEQ) has experienced significant pressure as the demand for
property and affordable dwellings increases and population growth in the region continues. The issue
has come to the forefront in discussions for local governments in the region and there is a real need to
address the problem of housing affordability. The subject of affordability is complex and is
contributed to by a number of factors including the impost created by Council processes, which is the
scope of the HAF T5 Project.

Improvement Program including regional and council specific recommendations.
The underlying intention of this document in its current form (Parts 1 and 2) is to establish an As Is
picture, so to speak, of a Council s development assessment processes.
Parts 1 and 2 will be presented to Council for validation and discussion with HAF representatives.
File Survey Overview
HAF T5 programme Objectives
The aim of the Target 5 Days (HAF T5) project is to reduce government s impact on the development
assessment process through reductions in assessment time. This will reduce the holding costs and
infrastructure costs for applicants, contributing greatly to the bottom line overheads experienced by
developers, both professional and non professional (without considering the greater issue of land
supply).
The objectives of HAF T5 project are to deliver process reform such that Councils in SEQ will
deliver:
Reduced assessment timeframe for 95% of residential development applications; and
75% reduction in approval timeframe for residential developments with a five day turn around for low
risk/complying applications.
Residential Application Focus
The typical types of applications that were surveyed are:
Reconfiguration of lots up to 50 lots;
Dual Occupancies (Duplexes);
Multiple Unit Developments (generally 6 or less);
Boundary Realignments; and
Houses in overlays (e.g. character,

What Was The Mashiach s Impact On Judaism
Judaism, one of history s oldest monotheistic beliefs, is a semitic religion based upon the covenant
made by the Jewish God, Yahweh, to Abraham. Abraham s descendant was Jacob called Israel. From
Abraham came the beginning of the Jewish religion and from Israel came the nation through which
the covenant was to continue. However the people did not always stay faithful to God and it is due to a
number of significant people that the religion was able to continue to today. Isaiah s impact on
Judaism can still be seen in modern Judaistic society and religion.
Isaiah was born at a time of historical importance during an era of political turmoil. Around the year
740 BCE Isaiah was born. During his life he experienced the destruction of Israel circa 722 BCE,

It is one of the core beliefs of Judaism that the promised anointed one, the Mashiach, will indeed
come. Isaiah speaks of the restoration and redemption of Jerusalem under the Messianic King. These
prophesies, reinforced elsewhere in the Tanakh (sacred text), describe the Mashiach and ultimately
give the people hope for the future of the world. The Mashiach will be fully observant of the
commandments, bring about the political and spiritual redemption of the Jewish people through the
restoration of Jerusalem and the exiled and establish a world authority in Israel for Jews and gentiles.
The return of the exiled has been a long awaited prophecy for the Jews during Isaiah s time and ours
with the holocaust having displaced masses of Jews. The Messianic age, called the Olam Ha Ba, will
be characterised by the peaceful co existence of all people... [recognising] the Jewish G d as the only

What is the most effect way to increase your physical fitness and improve your health? In the 1970 s
jogging became a popular form of fitness. The 1980 s brought us Jane Fonda, Jazzersize, and other
forms of dance aerobics; while Billy Blanks had us punching and kicking our way to health with Tae

measure physical fitness; while Cross Fit fanatics prefer to lift hard and heavy. There is so many ways
to train, so many fads to wade through in the search for a technique that works. The conflicting
research and opinions when it comes to physical training and overall health is confusing at best.
Mostly, the overwhelming amount of information, techniques, programs, workouts, self proclaimed

The Influence Of The Enlightenment On The American And The...
The Enlightenment, also known as the Age of Reason, encouraged the power of reason to change
society and advance people s knowledge. The Enlightenment was a period in the mid sixteenth and the

based solely on the concept of reason. During this period of time, there was a decline of both the
power of the churches and the absolute monarchies. The ideas of the Enlightenment influenced both
the American and the French Revolution. During the Enlightenment, traditional views were
challenged by Enlightenment philosophers which ultimately led to both the American and the French

Effects of Online Dating on Relationships In the old ages, dating was considered to be sacred. It was
only permissible for the adults that had the rights to have a sexual partner. The sacred nature can be
considered to be a conservative nature of the society regarding the religion, customs, and laws. As a
result, getting a partner was a nightmare considering the fact that people had to rely on gathering
places such as religious meetings, school and social interaction points such as bars and hotels to meet
up with new people. This is without mentioning that there were no convenient means of
communication apart from the slow mode of sending letters. With difficulty to getting a new partner,

When more online dating sites get into the market, there will be a devastating decline of commitments
between spouses. From a personal experience, I have a married friend who subscribes to an online
dating site called Match.com. This friend spends most of his time on this site interacting with other
people while ignoring his responsibility of spending more time with his family. As a result, his
marriage now is not stable. His wife complains he is not showing any commitment towards their
relationship and marriage. Slater (2013), in his article, points out that he has interviewed online dating
company executives. From the interviews, the executives suggested that an increase in dating websites
would decrease commitment in a relationship. Gian Gonzaga, who is a research scientist from
eHarmony which is a conservative site stated that; the good thing about online dating is that people are
free to get into a new relationship, learn new things and more likely choose a better person from a
pool of people. Again he criticizes it by arguing that online dating creates a shortcut for people in
relationship to quit the moment they feel it s not working (Slater, 2013). Slater (2013) also adds that
Dan Winchester the founder of free dating site based in the UK pointed out that the older we get, the

  • 2. Consequences Of Underage Drinking Underage drinking has been a growing concern among the public. As society idolizes the party life style, adolescence seem to be more encouraged to join the movement. Because the youth of todays generations are not aware of the responsibilities that come along with drinking, they are ignorant to the fact that there are ramification that come along with underage drinking. Though there are factors that play along with the juvenile party trend, as a community, we must come together and be aware of the poor results these actions can cause. Underage drinking has become an outrage; its use among teenagers has consequences such as brain damage, addictiveness, and safety risks. Teenagers can tend to view alcohol as a conversation starter, helping them loosen up around people; but it can cause harsh brain damage. In spite the reality that alcohol can affect several parts of the brain while drinking underage, the Hippocampus and the Prefrontal Lobe, are especially susceptible to alcohol damage. Hippocampus is in control of memory and learning, Studies of adolescents show that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With the help of alcohol, teens awareness is being altered. In 2008, almost 40,000 youth ages 15 20 were admitted to hospitals due to alcohol problems. (Consumer Information, 2013). • 3. Purpose Of Genesis This analysis will serve the purpose of analyzing Genesis chapter one, two, and three as well as Romans chapters one, two, and three. The author will incorporate various connections between the chapters read and, will also, make applications on how families, churches, or society can use these verses in their lives. Background Information The author would say that the background to the creation story is one of the easier ones to grasp. Simply because: that is when the world began. I would hope that, as a Christian in a Christian school, this is not a mind blowing conclusion. According to Alex Varughese (2006), The book of Genesis is the first book of the Torah or the Pentateuch (pg. 64). The meaning of the book of Genesis means as it sounds; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Christians were set apart until the sin of Adam and Eve. After the sin, Christians no longer had the easy way out. Christians have to work hard, not only on work, but also in their presentation of Christianity. The second connection to the sin of Adam and Eve would be the list that is given in Romans of all the sin that the people of Rome are committing. It is no coincidence that worse and worse consequences to sin have come about since the fall of man. There is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away they have together become worthless; there is not one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit, the poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is not fear of God before their eyes (Romans 3:11 18, New International Version). The most prominent correlation between Genesis and Romans would be that sin is worse than it was at the fall of man and just as Adam and Eve sinned; man is still sinning. No longer is their simply disobedience; now there is a list of the sins that man is committing and willingly displaying for anyone to see. Adam and Eve were trying to hide their sins, the people of Rome are sinning for full ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Grammatical Analysis To Chisholm Lexical and grammatical analysis Avoidance of agency or attribution of agency to collectivities and not individuals, is a characteristic feature of Chisholm s speech. She tends to use generalized and impersonal constructions. • 6. Causes And Treatment Of Chronic Illness Throughout the past century the world has seen a drastic shift in not only life expectancy but in quality of life. Medicine has become incredibly advanced and thus life expectancy rates have increased over the years. However, it must also be recognized that there are now higher rates of chronic illness. Chronic illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, arthritis and heart disease are the leading causes of disability throughout the United States. As of 2012, about half of all adults 117 million people had one or more chronic health conditions (CDC 2016). People with a chronic illness essentially have a disease or disorder that requires a lifetime of coping. It is not uncommon for people to often become so ill that they are unable to work. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a study conducted by Brown, Sheffield, Leary and Robinson (2003) the researchers tested the association between social support and levels of pain. The study tested 101 undergraduate students. The subjects were randomly assigned to one of three groups. The groups were required to press a cold presser that delivered a small pain and after, rate their pain on a 10 point scale. Each group was either paired with a friend, a stranger or carried out the task alone. The study concluded that the individuals who used the cold presser while another person was in the room, stranger or friend, reported lower levels of pain. Evidently there is a connection between social support and pain tolerance. This information is extremely important because chronic illness is essentially a diagnosis of lifelong pain. If social support can improve this pain, these patients could improve their quality of life. In a study conducted by Lopez Martinez, Esteve Zarazaga and Ramirez Maestre (2008) the effects of social support on pain were further studied. In their study, the purpose was to test the relation between perceived social support and the coping responses to pain in those suffering from chronic pain or illness. The study consisted of 117 subjects recruited from a Clinical Pain Unit at a hospital in Spain. The average subject was around 54 years old and mostly consisted of women. • 7. Plagiarism Essay Plagiarism. We do it everyday. But most people don t even know that they do it. Plagiarism is the act of taking the work or a idea of someone else, and passing it off as your own (Webster). Now, there are two main types of plagiarism: intentional and unintentional. Intentional plagiarism is when someone copies words, ideas, or phrases and purposefully pass it off as their own, all without giving credit to the correct source. On the other hand, unintentional plagiarism is when someone cites poorly, or if they didn t know that someone else had an idea, and they pass it off as their own, thinking they were the first to come up with it. Each state will have a certain number of representatives, and also pay direct taxes, on the basis of population size (US Constitution 1 2). This excerpt from the US Constitution talks a lot about power being divided in the government, by having three different branches, judicial, executive, and legislative. The judiciary is the Supreme Court, which is addressed about later in the US Constitution, the executive is the president, and the legislative is the Senate and the House of Representatives. It doesn t directly state it, because the Declaration of Independence talks about how the king of England is unfair, and how he rules poorly. When they state what the king is doing wrong, the reader can infer that the US will do the opposite. In fact, the previous Kardashian owners assumed that the fence was an accurate indication of the property line, which they thought was located directly between the houses and therefore never attempted to ascertain the actual location of the boundary. If the uncertainty of the boundary was never acknowledged, the principles found in Bea v. Robinson finds that a conventional boundary could not be existing because was no attempt to ascertain the actual boundary. Bea v. Robinson states that this attempt is a mandatory element in the foundation of a conventional boundary. Even in the presence of strong evidence that the boundary was agreed upon and treated as a boundary, it seems likely that the test for conventional boundaries must fail in consideration of the fact that the surveyor Amanda hired was able to ascertain the true boundaries which were not consistent with that of the fence. The plan would also be a large tax cut, which would increase the federal government s deficit by over $10 trillion, both on a static and dynamic basis. • 13. The Wanderer And The Dream Of The Rood Comparison Analysis In the poems The Wanderer and The Dream of the Rood, anonymous authors give way to the idea that an Almighty God will solve every problem a person has by doing two things: 1) drawing upon the memories of a warrior who has lost everything near and dear to him due to war, and 2) entering the dream of a man who has been exiled and isolated. Each piece takes its reader through the trials and tribulations that one may not relate to in this era, yet the reader is still there alongside the character wanting them to find peace with their world and themselves. Initially, it is believed that the characters will overcome their hardships and achieve the happiness they seek. However, as the reader delves deeper into the character s story, there is an overwhelming sense of incompleteness. What actually happens at the end of each piece is not written in stone telling us the story is not whole nor has a conclusion been reached. The intrapersonal thoughts being shared with the reader reveal the obstacles that keep an overall wholeness from occurring. Starting with The Wanderer, the speaker begins his tale by reminiscing upon his trials and tribulations of which he has suffered a great deal and longs for relief, the Almighty s mercy (118). He has lost his friends and no longer has anyone to confide in, forcing him to be alone with his thoughts: So I must hold in the thoughts of my heart (118). In the midst of his grieving, the Wanderer recalls a joyous occasions, such as when his friend and lord helped him to the feast (119), only to realize that what once was, is no longer. He finds comfort in his dreams, longing to be back with his liege lord again only to awaken and have reality come shattering down upon him (119). However, he comes to the conclusion that through hardship and suffering, one matures, grows, learns his place in life and how a good man holds his words back, tells his woes not too soon, baring his inner heart before knowing the best way (120). Throughout this piece, the Wanderer is struggling with losing much of what made his life whole and debating whether or not the war was worth the suffering he is faced with with no one by his side. It allowed families to qualify for government programs such as Medicaid, CHIP, and government subsidies, and for young adults to stay on their parent s insurance until the age of 26. In 2012, DACA recipients under the DREAM Act also became part of the groups excluded, leaving more than 6.5 million unable to access affordable care. In order to make a change, the New Mexico Rep. The act is intended to break down barriers for women and their families by expanding the definition of lawfully present instituted under the Social Security Act in the Medicaid Section 1903. By amending subparagraph (A) to expand the definition of lawfully present to include such an individual who is granted deferred action or other federally authorized presence other than as a nonimmigrant (H.R. 2788, 2017). In addition, religion plays a part in each of these stories. Typically, in journey literature the hero encounters several obstacles that he or she must overcome. Advantages of Millennials Staying Home during College For all generations, including millennials, the majority of students seeking a post secondary degree have the traditional college experience. The traditional college experience includes students that live on campus in a dormitory. Millennials take longer than past generations to become independent and reach adulthood because they are still living with their parents. Many positive factors lead millennials to stay home: cheaper living expenses, less stress, and the ability to focus on their education. There are also many advantages for millennials living at home for college over millennials living in a dorm. Living at home allows students to focus on schoolwork instead of maintaining a dorm or other distractions. Parents can teach their children responsibilities and aid with their college work while they stay at home. While millennials who move out experience independence at an earlier age, they pick up negative habits such as addictions that hinder their chance of being successful. Millennials who live at home during college have a greater advantage over students moving out because they will have superior education, financial security, responsibility, and no harmful habits to become successful and prosperous individuals. Additionally, millennials staying at home during college instead of living independently is an advantage over living alone because these millennials will eventually become autonomous, successful ... Gender equality has always been and continues to be a struggle, but with more awareness being shed on this problem, it has been improving on a local and global scale. However, governments still lack the gender diversity in their leadership positions that is needed by today s standards and expectations. With more activism on a local and global level, future generations will grow up becoming leaders without limitations due to their gender. I have been able to grow up in a fortunate environment with a strong sense of equal gender opportunity, but there was always the absence of equal gender icons to look up to when I was growing up. Most textbooks and lessons were filled with the accomplishments of male scientists, explorers, artists, and most of all, leaders. It is essential that we educate children at a young age the importance for the push towards gender equality in leadership positions. After all, it is difficult for little girls to believe teachers when say that they can grow up to be anything they want to be when there are male clad posters of the United States presidents hanging up on the wall behind them. Yet as Andre Schmid and Jordan Sand contest, this notion is replete with problems. Not only does this interpretation gloss over the historical fact of Japan as an imperialist and colonialist power, but it also dismisses the dynamic embedded in history that shaped the trajectory of Japan from an empire to a nation state as seen today. This paper will briefly discuss the question of Japan s national history and argues for a reconsideration of Japan s historical position within the history of empires by drawing this week s readings. There is no doubt that Japan was once an empire and an imperialist as well as a colonialist power. James Huffman s definition of colonialism and imperialism gives a concise account: while imperialism refers to tangible or intangible dominance and colonialism caters more to concrete extra territories, they are not exclusive to each other. The Problem Of Judicial Review There is nothing controversial about saying, as Alexander Bickel did in The Least Dangerous Branch in 1962, that judicial review is a counter majoritarian force. When one gives an unelected judiciary the power to declare null and void laws enacted by popularly elected representatives, there automatically exists the possibility that those jurists will rule counter to the wishes of a majority. To be sure, the existence of this judicial power creates fundamental problems in a constitutional democracy, and many forests have been felled in the scholarly quest to analyze those problems. As Bickel observed, the counter majoritarian nature of judicial review is the root difficulty in the American judicial system. He also noted, however, that this force is an ineluctable reality. It is therefore misleading to argue that, empirical studies of judicial review have consistently found that Bickel s difficulty does not actually exist. The difficulty of which Bickel wrote did, and most definitely does continue to exist. Unpacking the socio political factors that influence the way in which the difficulty manifests itself in judicial decision making has prompted the aforementioned studies. The objectives of HAF T5 project are to deliver process reform such that Councils in SEQ will deliver: Reduced assessment timeframe for 95% of residential development applications; and 75% reduction in approval timeframe for residential developments with a five day turn around for low risk/complying applications. Abraham s descendant was Jacob called Israel. From Abraham came the beginning of the Jewish religion and from Israel came the nation through which the covenant was to continue. However the people did not always stay faithful to God and it is due to a number of significant people that the religion was able to continue to today. Isaiah s impact on Judaism can still be seen in modern Judaistic society and religion. Isaiah was born at a time of historical importance during an era of political turmoil. Isaiah speaks of the restoration and redemption of Jerusalem under the Messianic King. These prophesies, reinforced elsewhere in the Tanakh (sacred text), describe the Mashiach and ultimately give the people hope for the future of the world. The Mashiach will be fully observant of the commandments, bring about the political and spiritual redemption of the Jewish people through the restoration of Jerusalem and the exiled and establish a world authority in Israel for Jews and gentiles. The 1980 s brought us Jane Fonda, Jazzersize, and other forms of dance aerobics; while Billy Blanks had us punching and kicking our way to health with Tae Bo in the 1990 s. The new millennium gave birth to Insanity, P90X, Zumba, and the whole Beach Body franchise. The Army still clings to the idea that running, push ups and sit ups are the only way to measure physical fitness; while Cross Fit fanatics prefer to lift hard and heavy. There is so many ways to train, so many fads to wade through in the search for a technique that works. The conflicting research and opinions when it comes to physical training and overall health is confusing at best. Mostly, the overwhelming amount of information, techniques, programs, workouts, self proclaimed YouTube experts, and google search results leave the average American not knowing where to start or what kind of training would move them towards their goals. One of the most ardently debated fitness topics is which form of cardiovascular training is most effective for weight loss; steady state cardio or high intensity interval training. As a Drill Sergeant, there is always limited time to physically train; an issue most soldiers have, particularly those in combat zones. It was only permissible for the adults that had the rights to have a sexual partner. The sacred nature can be considered to be a conservative nature of the society regarding the religion, customs, and laws. As a result, getting a partner was a nightmare considering the fact that people had to rely on gathering places such as religious meetings, school and social interaction points such as bars and hotels to meet up with new people. When more online dating sites get into the market, there will be a devastating decline of commitments between spouses. From a personal experience, I have a married friend who subscribes to an online dating site called Match.com. This friend spends most of his time on this site interacting with other people while ignoring his responsibility of spending more time with his family. As a result, his marriage now is not stable. His wife complains he is not showing any commitment towards their relationship and marriage. Slater (2013), in his article, points out that he has interviewed online dating company executives. From the interviews, the executives suggested that an increase in dating websites would decrease commitment in a relationship. Gian Gonzaga, who is a research scientist from eHarmony which is a conservative site stated that; the good thing about online dating is that people are free to get into a new relationship, learn new things and more likely choose a better person from a pool of people. Again he criticizes it by arguing that online dating creates a shortcut for people in relationship to quit the moment they feel it s not working (Slater, 2013). Slater (2013) also adds that Dan Winchester the founder of free dating site based in the UK pointed out that the older we get, the more experience we have. For example, men have more experience than women when it comes to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
