The Religious Issues Of The Malay Population During...
Part one: essay proposal (200 300 words)
a) Giving a brief explanation of the scope of the essay (the figure you will examine, the time period,
geographical focus, etc).
Question: How did the British managed the religious issues of the Malays during colonial rule in
Singapore?
Through an analysis of the Maria Hertogh riot case study, we are able to gain deeper insights into
British s colonial policies in their management of the religious issues of the Malay population in the
post 1945 era. At the same time this also allows us to see how race intersect with class as the Malay
population constitutes the lower income class in Singapore at that time. Using Maria as a case study,
we are also able to see how gender interact with race and class during colonialism as things may have
turned out differently if the child in case was a boy instead.
b) Outlining your key research questions and the conclusions that you have drawn from your research
thus far.
1. Did British mismanaged sensitive religious issues pertaining to the Malays during colonial rule?
2. Did the British pursue a strict policy of resistance in their religious policies?
This ethnic conflict has been widely argued to be the consequence of a mismanagement of the
religious issues of the Malay population by the British. However, it would be inaccurate to solely
blame the British s policies for triggering the riots as they were other factors that led to the riots such
as the media and the hidden motives of the

The Role Of Performance Enhancing Drugs In Professional...
If you are an avid sports fan and there is a chance to make superstar athletes whom you admire much
faster, stronger and better, would you be in favor of that opportunity? Performance enhancing drugs
have been a very controversial topic ever since American professional athletes introduced them into
the sports world during the 1990 s. Many athletes have experimented with these drugs over their
careers and have been tested, and ultimately caught, but does this really put the MLB in the direction
they and the fans want? Although some researchers and critics may consider performance enhancing
drugs a method of cheating, PEDs actually benefit professional leagues by increasing fan interest,
revenue, and levels of play. If performance enhancing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some athletes are hard workers, and others use PEDs, but players will do anything possible to gain an
advantage over their opponents. Because of this known fact, Higher level athletes are always going to
do everything they can to get an edge, to beat the competition, and extend their shorts careers
(Kolosky). Players careers are relatively short due to injury or fatigue. If players were to use steroids,
their bodies can recover from injury at a faster rate and build up more strength to avoid fatigue. Fans
may complain about how player statistics from different eras are now not comparable, but it s
important to note that historical statistics are already antiquated. Baseball has changed over time, so
records set by Babe Ruth or Roger Maris are obsolete. Rule changes radically modified baseball at the
end of the deadball era, ... Simply put, professional sports have evolved so much over the years that it
s mostly nonsense to directly compare statistics across eras, regardless of steroid use (Smith). This
implies that because of the more frequent use of steroids among players, it is now not possible to
correctly compare players from decades ago to the modern day stars, but with of all the rule changes
and defensive schemes used, it would not be possible to compare players anyways; even without
PEDs. Finally, many critics believe that an unfair level of play is created because of the handful of
innocent players but if we really want to level the playing field, it may be time to head in the other
direction, legalize performance enhancers... Not only would the playing field suddenly be even for all
players, it would be at a higher level (Smith). A proposed solution underscores the fact that if all
players used PEDs, a fair level of play would be created and it would be at a much higher level than
ever

Abstract The objective of this work was to investigate the mechanical properties in order to
demonstrate the feasibility of friction stir welding for joining Al 6061 aluminum alloy welding was
performed on pipe with different thickness 2 ,3 and 4mm,five rotational speeds
(485,710,910,1120,1400 and1800) RPM and a traverse speed (4,8 and 10)mm/min was applied. This
work focuses on two methods such as artificial neural networks(ANN) using software (pythia) and
response surface methodology (RSM) to predict the tensile strength, the percentage of elongation and
hardness of friction stir welded 6061 aluminum alloy. An artificial neural network (ANN) model was
developed for the analysis of the friction stir welding parameters of Al 6061aluminum pipe.
The tensile strength, the percentage of elongation and hardness of weld joints were predicted by taking
the parameters Tool rotation speed, material thickness and travel speed as a function. A comparison
was made between measured and predicted data. Response surface methodology (RSM) also
developed and the values obtained for the response Tensile strengths, the percentage of elongation and
hardness are compared with

Chronic fuel surfeit occurs in individuals that are chronically overweight or overnourished after their
adaptive responses have failed. Normally, these individuals are resistant to type 2 diabetes because
their bodies partition extra calories to the subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) instead of the liver, heart
and skeletal muscle (Nolan, Damm Prentki, 2011).
Treatments that seek to promote mitochondrial function and biogenesis would help in treating type 2
diabetes because this form of treatment mimics exercise, which reduces insulin requirements or the
exhaustion of β cells (Nolan, Damm Prentki, 2011). This treatment has the indirect effect of enhancing
insulin sensitivity in the skeletal muscle by making cells revert to taking energy rather than keeping it
out. Glycemic control therapy works by modifying disease (such as reducing chronic fuel

Bloodstain Pattern Analysis
14 December 2014 Blood and Guns The world of Forensic Scientist is an amazing and fascinating
place. There are so many aspects that go into forensic science but in this paper we are only covering
bloodstain spatter patterns. Bloodstain spatter patterns are not solely used to solve crimes but I do feel
it is one of the most important. Bloodstains never lie. A bullet is traveling at its fastest speed when it
leaves the barrel of the gun. Bullets traveling after firing is said to be using kinetic energy. Kinetic
energy is the energy the bullet has due to its motion from the firing pin striking the gun powder
causing an explosion that forced the bullet to discharge from the barrel. Now this bullet possess

The bullet will so receive damage itself causing it to be deformed and sometime disintegrate
depending on the target. Damage to the human body varies depending on where the bullet penetrates.
Muscle will offer more resistance to the bullet versus fatty tissue or an organ such as the liver. If a
bullet penetrates your lungs it will cause them to collapse. Bullets have also been known to bounce off
a person s ribs. Depending on what clothes you are wearing, like a heavy thick sheep skin jacket will
have a tendency to help slow down the bullet but won t stop it from penetrating the human body.
There is no set rules of what will happen when you are shot. The closer the range to the intended
target the more damage you will do. This is one reason suicide via gunshot wounds are so big (Warlow
109). Upon arrival at a crime scene you will need to speak with the lead officer or lead crime scene
investigator to find out what allegedly happened at the crime scene. There are certain precautions that
are taken at crime scenes to preserve evidence. First you will have to wear protective gear including,
hair net, shoe covers, plastic surgical gloves, suits and any other items that are required to prevent
scene contamination. This gear will also help protect you against any health hazards that may be
located in the crime scene such as blood or tissue contaminates. Before entering a crime scene be sure

Mckinsey 7s Framework
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McKinsey_7S_Framework The McKinsey 7S Framework is a
management model developed by well known business consultants Waterman and Peters (who also
developed the MBWA Management By Walking Around motif, and authored In Search of Excellence )
in the 1980s. This was a strategic vision for groups, to include businesses, business units, and teams.
The 7S are structure, strategy, systems, skills, style, staff and shared values. The model is most often
used as a tool to assess and monitor changes in the internal situation of an organisation. The model is
based on the theory that, for an organization to perform well, these seven elements need to be aligned
and mutually reinforcing. So, the model can be used to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of the authors worked as consultants at McKinsey and Company; in the 1980s, they used the
model to analyse over 70 large organisations. The McKinsey 7S Framework was created as a
recognisable and easily remembered model in business. The seven variables, which the authors term
levers , all begin with the letter S : Figure 1: McKinsey s 7S Model These seven variables include
structure, strategy, systems, skills, style, staff and shared values. Structure is defined as the skeleton of
the organisation or the organisational chart. The authors describe strategy as the plan or course of
action in allocating resources to achieve identified goals over time. The systems are the routine
processes and procedures followed within the organisation. Staff are described in terms of personnel
categories within the organisation (e.g. engineers), whereas the skills variable refers to the capabilities
of the staff within the organisation as a whole. The way in which key managers behave in achieving
organisational goals is considered to be the style variable; this variable is thought to encompass the
cultural style of the organisation. The shared values variable, originally termed superordinate goals,
refers to the significant meanings or guiding concepts that organisational members share (Peters and
Waterman, 1982). The shape of

Essay on Vietnamese Americans
Abstract
The following paper will discuss Vietnamese Americans and their journey to America. I will talk about
how these incredible and resilient people fought to succeed it a world that seemed to hold the odds
against them. The culture, beliefs, and challenges of Vietnamese people are a precise paradigm of their
strength and perseverance.
Unfortunately, Vietnamese Americans make up only a small percent of the total American Population
today. There are many stereotypes associated with the Vietnamese, but the truth is, we really know
very little about their culture. After the Viet Nam War, many Vietnamese citizens immigrated to the
United States to escape political Prosecution and poverty. Faced with a variety of obstacles and ...

The act was implemented in 1989 and called The Vietnamese Amerasian Homecoming Act.
Amerasian is a term used to describe children of Vietnamese mothers and American fathers (or vice
versa). Enabling approximately 25,000 Amerasian children into the country with their immediate
families, the act allowed over 77,000 Vietnamese immigrants into the United States. Overall, between
1981 and 2000, over 531,000 Vietnamese citizens, voluntarily immigrated to the United States and
were accepted. Although the United States progressively allowed more Vietnamese immigrants into
the country, if there were never limits to the number of legal refuges, tens of thousands of lives may
have been spared.
Currently, the United States continues to limit the number of immigrants permitted to enter the
country. Politicians are even trying to upgrade the charge to a felony offense if immigrants are caught
entering the United Sates illegally. The interesting part of this phenomenon is that the only people who
are native to America are the Native American Indians. Other than that, everyone s family had
immigrated to America at some point. Having said that, maybe we should be more forthcoming when
trying to pass a law by stating that now, since our family is already here, we should start to limit the
number of new immigrants that enter. I find the hypocrisy of our government to somewhat
overwhelming.
At this point, the American people

Case Study Of Mass Production At Toyota
Automobile industry of japan witnessed an awesome accomplishment with the growth of Toyota. It
became the biggest maker in the worldwide business. Toyoda kiichiro was hesitant to invest in
automobile sector. In the year 1933 the company started its production. In order to have cost efficiency
they adopted the mass production technology. The production of cars was hampered due to the war.
The government on judgement of the military denied generation of passenger cars. But after the war
Kiichiro decided to again establish the company and start production of cars. But certain problems
were faced. The market was limited for mass production as they had planned earlier. There was
another problem of setting up capital required by the company for starting the production. According
to the new law, the labours cannot be laid off easily. Other countries were ready to enter the Japanese
market. These all created a problem for re production process for Toyota. Mass Production at Toyota:
As the company started its production the main focus was on mass production. The fundamental
reason behind large scale manufacturing was to create a constrained product offering in large amounts

Male Dominance In Toni Morrison s Beloved
The presence of dominant groups leads to the development of conflicts for powerless individuals. One
means of dominance, male dominance, creates a struggle for women to maintain their identities. Toni
Morrison s Beloved presents the battered life of a woman, Sethe, who experiences male dominance as
a slave. Likewise, Ophelia in William Shakespeare s Hamlet is controlled by various men as she
suffers in a corrupt environment. In both Beloved by Morrison and Hamlet by Shakespeare, internal
conflicts are created as the lives of two different female characters are oppressed because the women
fail to coincide with the norms presented by the powerful males.
Throughout Beloved, Morrison alludes to the historical role of slaves, specifically the weakness of the
innocent individuals due to the dominance of the white race. As a slave, Sethe suffers internally as she
is stripped of her identity. Prior to escaping from slavery, schoolteacher s white nephews steal one of

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Audio Watermarking
Abstract: With the increasing usage of digital multimedia, the protection of intellectual property rights
problem has become a very important issue. Digital watermarking is now drawing attention as a new
method of protecting multimedia content from unauthorized copying. Over the past two decades,
many digital watermarking algorithms have been developed, each with its own advantages and
disadvantages. The main aim of this paper is to present a survey report of recently done work in audio
watermarking fields.

LITERATURE SURVEY
The audio watermarking has been a hot research area for protection of digital sound content. Many
researchers have suggested algorithms for that. Some has also done a good survey of previous work
done. That helps fellow researchers to work forward. In [1] Komal et. al presented a survey report on
various audio watermarking algorithms. They divided the work into three main categories: spread
spectrum algorithm, amplitude modification, replica method, dither watermarking and self marking
method. As per the author the spread spectrum method has the problem of synchronisation and time
consumed is higher whereas replica is good for synchronisation but echo handling is worst. Amplitude
modification method needs large channel capacity and introduces noise too. Overall self marking
method is good for synchronisation and robust for watermarking. Ali Al Haj [2] in his paper proposed
solution for shortcomings of spread spectrum method is overcome by combining it with singular value
decomposition for high rate of robustness. To make it more robust the watermark bits are inserted
diagonally into wavelet transformed input audio signals and a controlling gain parameter is
introduced. This method also

Research Paper On Marching Band
Marching Band: The Struggle is Real What comes to mind when someone mentions marching band?
Is it the music, uniforms, or the movements? Marching band is the sport in which musicians play
while they march on a field to make shapes, but it s not as easy as it looks? They have to practice a lot,
even during the summer; some practices are even 12 hours long. Even through all of this it is a great
sport to take part in. This year was my first year in marching band and it was hard! I had to go through
a lot of different struggles. Before school even started this year I came to school Monday through
Friday for two weeks to learn how to be in marching band. The first week we practiced from 8 to 6
and during the second week we practiced from 8 to 8. That is a 12 hour practice. At practices we
would start with stretches then start our conditioning. That is where we would walk for one minute,
jog for 45 seconds then sprint for 15 seconds: repeat. We did this for 10 minutes. After we conditioned
we would have a water break. If you join marching band, you start to understand why people always
say to stay hydrated because it can cause some serious problems. Usually during the water breaks
Abby, Jema, Corbin and me would talk all kinds of stuff from Corbin s leg hair to bras and food. Sadly
our water breaks aren t very long. We start practicing our marching and the basics of playing while
moving at a fast tempo. We do this by listening to music through the speaker. By the time we are

Bystanders In To Kill A Mockingbird
Watching and doing are two completely different things. A bystander watches and does not do
anything which makes them innocent. As a bystander, most of the time it is not our place to get into
other problems because it is not our business to. In the stories of, To Kill a Mockingbird and
Scottsboro: an American Tragedy, there are great examples of bystanders being innocent. Bystanders
are always innocent. They do no harm, but watch civil injustice, which is not our place to correct. One
example of this is from the movie, Scottsboro: An American Tragedy. In the movie, based on true

Summary Of Origins Of The Final Solution By Christopher...
The Origins of the final solution by Christopher Browning gives a comprehensive review of what led
up to the final solution. He belongs to the school of thought of moderate functionalism, that the final
solution was led up to, and that policies enacted led up to it, with no premeditation. He argues that the
final solution happened because of previous attempts to create a Judenfrei Europe that did not have
enough success. It uses multiple types of evidence to prove this thesis. First it talks about Jewish
policy in Poland, involving deportation and in turn the resettlement of Volksdeutsche. The problem
with this is that it does not have enough success, with deportation rates at a low 40% on average. In
addition, many government officials were

Seventh-Day Adventists
Introduction
Seventh day Adventists
The Seventh day Adventist Church is a Millennialist Protestant Christian denomination that was
founded in the 1860s in the USA.
The name Seventh day Adventist is based on the Church s observance of the biblical Sabbath on
Saturday, the seventh day of the week. Advent means coming and refers to their belief that Jesus
Christ will soon return to this earth.
Seventh day Adventists differ in only four areas of beliefs from the mainstream Trinitarian Christian
denominations. These are the Sabbath day, the doctrine of the heavenly sanctuary, the status of the
writings of Ellen White, and their doctrine of the second coming and millennium.
Adventists live modest lives, with a strict code of ethics. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The remnant
The remnant is a church that has the duty of keeping faith in Jesus and obedience to God s
commandments alive in this time when many people have abandoned true faith.
This remnant announces the arrival of the judgment hour, proclaims salvation through Christ, and
heralds the approach of the second coming.
The great controversy
The great controversy is the battle between Satan and Christ. Humanity is involved in this battle and
should choose Christ.
The Heavenly Sanctuary
The correct understanding of the ministration in the heavenly sanctuary is the foundation of our faith.
Ellen G. White, Evangelism
The Old Testament teaches that the Aaronic priests ministered within a sanctuary.
That sanctuary (a tabernacle or a temple) was a man made version of the sanctuary that God created in
Heaven, which is the Temple of God in Heaven; the place where God lives.
Adventists believe that Christ, as the high priest of the new covenant, ministers in the heavenly
sanctuary.
He said to me, It will take 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary will be reconsecrated.
Daniel 8:14
We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,
and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man.
Hebrews 8: 1 2
The heavenly sanctuary has two areas the holy place and the most holy place. When Christ went from
Earth to Heaven he went into

Jane Eyre By Charlotte Bronte
Following the experiences of Jane Eyre, Charlotte Bronte, expresses many elements of gothic
literature throughout her novel Jane Eyre. In her perfect understanding of gothic literature, she
expresses the three types of evil commonly found in gothic literature, including the evil of the
supernatural, the evil within or the instinctual evil motives of humans, and lastly, the evil because of
societal influence. Jane Eyre experiences all of these three evils with her aunt and three cousins with
her residency and return to Gateshead: Jane encounters the supernatural and the evil of societal
influence as a child and she fully encounters the evil within upon her return.
As a child at Gateshead, one discovers the first form of evil in the novel with the negative interactions
between Jane and her relatives, which sparks from both, physical inferiority, (Bronte 11) to her
cousins, and as Bronte eventually states, her lack of money. Doing rather short work, the reader
discovers Jane does not belong in Gateshead with her rich Aunt, Mrs. Reed, and her cousins, John,
Georgina, and Eliza. Jane s three cousins cluster, around their mamma, (Bronte 11) in the opening of
the novel, but Jane sits in solitary. She leaves to ask her aunt, What does Bessie say I have done?
(Bronte 11); her aunt responds she likes children, who do not take up their elders, and Bronte implies,
she likes good children, which becomes surprising with Jane s cousins later actions. As Mrs. Reed

The Importance Of Word Superiority On Word Recognition
The purpose of this essay is to evaluate the effects of word frequency and superiority on word
recognition when considering three models of lexical access with these being the logogen, frequency
ordered bin search (FOBS) and TRACE models. Included in this analysis empirical proof from
research studies will be considered. It is vital to understand the relevance of the word frequency and
superiority effects before contemplating their role in the models of lexical access. Word frequency is
often associated with Balota and Chumbley (1984) as their research, comprising of three experiments
using 20 participants, demonstrates that the time taken to respond to a high frequency, commonly
occurring words was shorter than that of a low frequency when recognising words. Contrasting this,
Mosell, Doyle and Haggard (1989) observed this effect on a lexical decision and then a semantic
categorisation task. Their findings demonstrate that word frequency and response time are equally
related in all tasks involving word identification. Balota and Chumbley (1990) responded to the
criticism as they remain confident in their own findings supporting the view that word frequency
demonstrates that words we encounter on a daily basis require a shorter response time. The purpose of
the word superiority effect is explored in Reicher s (1969) study which used 9 female students. After
being extensively tested via forced choice letter recognition on ability to recognise varying stimuli (4

Superstring Theories
My interests in physics surround the central theme of developing a unified description of the
fundamental laws of the universe that is based on underlying symmetries and devoid of free,
dimensionless parameters. Superstring theories are one class of theory that endeavours to provide such
a description. My graduate research has included projects in both theoretical developments using type
IIB supergravity (SUGRA), as well as its application via the AdS/CFT correspondence.
A string theory description of a standard model type theory is only made possible by the intro duction

We showed that including backreacting D3 branes in warped compactifications did not produce
divergences in the effective action and so represented a consistent theory from dimensional reduction.
Due to the self duality of the five form field strength (i.e. F5 = ⋆F5), we were able to describe the D3
brane compensators in terms of either electric like charge sources via d ⋆ F5 = ⋆Je with dF5 = 0, or
magnetic like charge sources via dF5 = ⋆Jm with d ⋆ F5 = 0. We further showed that other moduli of
warped compactifications, such as the universal volume modulus and its associated axion considered
in [5], could be recast in terms of electric or magnetic descriptions similar to the D3 branes.
In ongoing work with A. Frey, I am continuing to develop the description of monopole like sources in
extra dimensions. As an application, we consider a magnetic monopole in Minkowski spacetime. By
writing the field strength as the sum of a local source term plus a global total derivative, we are able to
derive the magnetic analogue of the Lorentz force law without the need of non physical dual
potentials.
One of the most widely recognized results to come from string theory is the gauge/gravity cor
respondence [6]. The most famous AdS/CFT duality is between classical gravitation in AdS5×S5 and
a superYang Mills SU(N) gauge theory living on the conformal boundary of AdS5. However, the
duality exists more

The essential differentiator is in where appraisals begin and where they put their core interest. Danger

It s been a long time since __Beowulf__ and the Geats returned from Denmark fifty years earlier. A lot
has happened, most notably the death of __Hygelac__ and his son in battle. The throne passed from
his cousin, Heardred, to Beowulf, and he has ruled wisely and well for a long, long time. There have
been no major battles, and Beowulf s thanes rarely have to fight at all.

The Stages Of Psychological Development
Erik Erikson is a well known psychologist one of his most well known theories is the stages of
psychological development. With Erikson s theory he takes on the idea that social events or situations
will affect a person s personality throughout one s life rather than just when they are developing in
their childhood. His big idea was about identity and how a person develops their identity, with this is
where he came up with the identity crisis and the eight stages of development. The eight stages are
trust verse mistrust, autonomy verses shame and doubt, initiative verse guilt, industry verses
inferiority, identity verses role confusion, intimacy verses isolation, generatively verses stagnation,
and ego integrity verses despair shape us as individuals and are a guideline to follow. The next main
theories of Erik Erikson is the stages of psychological development, there are eight stages that Erikson
divides development into. The first stage is trust verses mistrust which occurs during the ages of new

their needs (McLeod, 2008). In order for this stage to be successful with trust it leave a great deal of it

The Digital Media Production Club
When I was a junior in high school, I was curious of how videos were made, so I joined the digital
media production club. In one week we learned the basics of how to create a short film, and it wasn t
as difficult as I thought it would be to create a video. There was many interesting information about
filming, and I had fun producing each project with my club members. We had to create our own
stories or personal perspective of a story into a video. When we want to recreate a movie scene, we
need approval of the scene, and the instructor would make sure we didn t get hurt in the process.
Filmmaking could be for anyone to create wonderful memories or express a meaningful message, and

all of events unfold around her and lies that she constantly tells are eventually shed into light. A

Francisco Goya Third Of May Essay
The Third of May
Francisco Goya
I chose to my report on Francisco Goya Third of May, 1808. This painting represents the French
taking over Spain during the time Napoleon was in reign. This invasion was a two day process but the
painting is about what happened on the third of May. Napoleon chose to invade Spain because he
wanted to out his brother, Joseph Bonaparte, in power in Spain to have an alliance with Spain to
conquer Portugal (Zappella, 2014). The invasion was an ambush as the French told the Spanish they
were just passing through, but events soon quickly changed when the intentions became clear
(Zappella, 2014). According to Christine Zappella, on the third of May Spanish freedom fighters were
rounded up and massacred by the French. Their Spanish blood ran through the streets of Madrid
(2014). The artist was so profound by the evets, he recreated the uprising in his paintings (Zappelle,
2014). The first painting Goya created was the Second of May, which is Leonardo s Battle of
Anghiari. In this painting he depicts mangled horses and bodies on the streets of France. The second

Teaching Bilingual Students At The Elementary School Level
Based on my experience, the findings of this study are not surprising. Science has become a major
challenge for bilingual students at the elementary school level particularly those in fifth grade who are
scheduled to take the Science STAAR (in the past the TAKS) for the first time. In the schools I taught,
many students struggled with the Spanish version of the test. Teachers and administrators claim that
the reason for the students failure is the vocabulary. According to them, the Spanish version contains
science terms that are too sophisticated which make this test harder than the English version. Coming
from a science background and having received science education in both Spanish and English I found
this intriguing. Soon I discovered that many teachers lack of basic science skills and knowledge.
Consequently, they rely on the resources provided by the district, which were in occasions erroneous.
In addition, most bilingual teachers in these schools did not have teaching degrees or significant
teaching experience. In situations like this the availability of professional development for science
bilingual teachers becomes of critical importance. However, most training is designed for monolingual
English speaking students. Bilingual educators are left with the task of adapting materials in order to
satisfy the needs of their students. This attempt often causes translated materials to be inaccurate and
inconsistent with the original materials. Another factor that I noticed

Why Women Empowerment And Entrepreneurs
Why women empowerment and entrepreneurs
Swami Vivekananda, one of the greatest sons of
India, quoted that, There is no chance for the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is
improved, It is not possible for a bird to fly on only one wing.
Therefore, inclusion of Women Empowerment as one of the prime goals in the eight Millennium
Development Goals underscores the relevance of this fact. Thus, in order to achieve the status of a
developed country, India needs to transform its colossal women force into an effective human resource
and this is possible only through the empowerment of women.
Economic empowerment is the first step towards political empowerment and beyond. Economic
empowerment should enable woman to take greater financial risks, greater standards of development
and more access to resources; it is not merely a marginal increase in income.
However, if economic empowerment has to translate into substantial change in power relations, the
socio political empowerment should take place simultaneously. HE Tebelelo Seretse Ambassador of
Botswana to the united state said that when you empower a man, you empower an individual, when
you empower a woman you empower the nation. It is perfect statement because a nation s
competitiveness in the long term depends on how it educate ,trains and equips its women power
potential talent base by providing them the same rights ,responsibilities and opportunities as others.
Empowering women worldwide and investing

Pathos In A Whisper Of Aids
Two hundred thousand Americans are dead or dying Two hundred thousand Americans, two hundred
thousand brothers, friends, loved ones, all fighting a war; this war is not fought in foreign countries,
this war is HIV/AIDS ( American Rhetoric: Mary Fisher ). Sadly, Mary Fisher is one of the many
victims that are crushed by the heartbreaking diagnostic of being HIV positive, however, this was her
alarm to the severity of the virus. As a result, Fisher dedicated her life to spread awareness of HIV and
AIDS. In addition to the jaw dropping speech, Fisher, has dedicated her whole life to the awareness of
AIDS, through her store, biographies, non profitable organizations, and many more. However, A
Whisper of AIDS is the first domino in her line of work to break the shroud of silence known as AIDS
( American Rhetoric: Mary Fisher ).Fisher spoke from the heart, and as well as the mind in A Whisper
of AIDS , which effectively touched the hearts of many and did exactly what she hoped it would,
turned the whisper of the word AIDS into a shout spoken from numerous to prevent fear in the hearts
of many. In order to show the dire importance of awareness of HIV/AIDS, Fisher, Effectively uses
heartbreaking pathos, strong logos, and persuasive ethos.
Pathos can be seen in the heartbreaking statistics that Fisher uses to open the audiences eyes. She
states a hundred million infections can happen worldwide, and despite countless efforts put into the
cure and prevention of the virus it is

Here in the United States the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Federal White Collar
Crime Center (NW3C) partnered and established the IC3, which is the Internet Crime Complaint
Center. This is a central place where Internet crimes can be reported and then those crimes will be
investigated and transferred to the appropriate law enforcement agencies as well as appropriate
regulatory agencies.
1. The Internet crimes can often overlap between fraud and other crimes. Because of these overlapping
crimes it is important the there is communication and cooperation between our own agencies and
international agencies.
2. Discuss the level of cooperation between our law enforcement agencies and international agencies
and the problems they face.
B. The overwhelming amount of Internet fraud and crimes on individuals, small business, financial
institutions can be overwhelming for law enforcement because of the lack of fully trained, qualified
investigators. Basically we have more crime that we have laws and law enforcement officials can
handle.
1. We must have sufficient laws against these particular crimes. Our judicial system faces challenges
in developing the laws against the crimes. The other problem that law enforcement faces is the
collection of evidence and the fine line between public and private information available online. In
some cases there have been problems with collecting evidence and their relation to the first and

Essay On African American Participation
The Annual Black Caucus is a yearly event that takes place in the Nation s capital of Washington, DC
every September. At the conference, various leaders, policy makers, and educators respectfully come
together to discuss issues that face many African American communities. Most importantly,
meaningful discussions on solutions to resolve these issues are debated. The Annual Black Caucus
provides a platform to inform, inspire, and motivate future African American youth progressing into
the 21st century and beyond. I am on a quest to change some of the widespread problems that plague
many African American communities . Upon being inspired after reading Carter G. Woodson s, the
Miseducation of the Negro, I am on a mission to acquire more knowledge on the contributions of our
ancestors and how those contributions will expand and evolve as we advance into the 21st century.
Like many others, I desire to see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

younger African American children, becoming a mouth piece and passing on what I learned from the
conference. This will in turn influence and inspire my peers to strive for greatness. In conclusion, my
mission is to provide a message of fortitude to young African American children. I will to create an

Analysis Of Street Light By Giacomo Balla
I chose to travel to the Museum of Modern Art for this assignment. Once I was there, I wasn t sure
which artwork I wanted to focus my analysis on. At first I was overwhelmed by the sheer enormity of
the museum (I have never been), but after a little while I gained my bearings and began to explore for
20th century art. After viewing many of the paintings that we discussed in depth in class and many
that we did not, I decided to write my analysis on Street Light, by Giacomo Balla. I chose this painting
because the colors and aspects of it intrigue me. I am also familiar with it, which can help aid me in
my analysis. I was extremely interested when we discussed Futurism in class, and I was happy that I
could find something in the Museum of Modern Art that had to do with that particular movement,
especially a painting that we touched upon. The painting itself was much larger than I anticipated in
person, and stood taller than me the way it was mounted on the wall. The colors were more vibrant
than any picture online could convey, and I found that I had to restrain myself from physically
touching the lines of color that symbolized the street lamps light. Up close, I was able to notice the
finer details of the work. The lines seemed a little messier and more hastily painted than I had
originally thought, however, this added to the movement of the piece overall. I found myself wishing
that the lines of color pushed to the boundaries of the painting rather than ending before

Startup Americ A Government Initiative
Startup America is a government initiative that is used to inspire and produce entrepreneurship
throughout the country. By holding the belief that innovation is the backbone of this country, Obama
created this campaign in order to create and develop entrepreneurship. As a result, the goal is trying to
achieve sustainable growth and quality jobs in the economy. Overall, Startup America is a process that
believes entrepreneurship is a core American value that allowed for the country to be where its at,
therefore, this campaign is trying to increase the success and overall production of future
entrepreneurship. When Joseph Schumpeter analyzes this campaign, he would agree with its concepts.
To begin, Schumpeter is an economist who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, since entrepreneurs are the messengers and developers of the methods of producing
economic development, Schumpeter would be for Startup America. Overall, Schumpeter would agree
with the philosophy of Startup America, as it allows for entrepreneurs to be more successful, which in
his mind would increase economic development. Next, when Israel Kirzner would examine Startup
America he would approve of its focus on entrepreneurship in America, however, he would find flaws
in the methods that Startup America uses. First, he would like how Startup America concentrated on
promoting entrepreneurship, as he also believes it is directly correlated to economic development. In
Kirzner s article, The Alert and Creative Entrepreneur , he says, Successful entrepreneurship plays an
enormously significant role in driving economic development, growth, an in the achievement of the
prosperous economy (1). Clearly, as stated in his article, Kirzner understands the significance of
successful entrepreneurship and how it can impact the economy, therefore, he wants to find ways to
promote entrepreneurship and increase its success, which is exactly what Startup America is doing.
Although, Kirzner would agree with the philosophy of Startup America, he would dislike how it
prioritizes everything. Instead of prioritizing, Kirzner would call for clear and equal rules, which
would produce equality throughout the economy. Basically, Kirzner would find that Startup

Fate In The Monkey s Paw By W. Jacobs
Fate cannot be tamed and anyone who tries to modify their fate does so to their sorrow. This is the
main theme that is exemplified in the short work of fiction The Monkey s Paw by W.W. Jacobs. Jacobs
successfully creates characters who eventually learn the lesson about fate. Mr. and Mrs. White, the
main characters, are visited late one night by a fakir who gives them a monkey s paw that could grant
3 wishes. But, before the fakir leaves, he warns the Whites, if they use the paw, to wish for something
sensible (Jacobs 27). Not only does this create foreshadowing, but it also generates conflict between
the Whites as to whether or not to use the paw and what to wish for. The author uses the responses of
the characters to this conflict, especially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A terrified and grief stricken Mrs. White acts impulsively, trying to get her son back. She ultimately
grabs the paw from where it had been discarded, lying forlornly on the kitchen table, and uses another
wish to get her son back (Jacobs 33). Awhile later, the Whites hear knocking and realize that the paw
has worked again. Mrs. White rushes to the door, while Mr. White hangs back. Mr. White realizes
almost too late that whatever is behind the door might not be his son. So, Mr. White quickly grabs the
paw and wishes away whatever was behind the door. The door then swings open to reveal no one.
Mrs. White, once again grief stricken, runs outside to the quiet and deserted road and the story ends
with the sounds of her anguished cries cutting through the night (Jacobs 34). This, once again, is an
example of how the characters reactions help to build to the theme. The Whites certainly get what they
wished for, but not in the way in which they want it.
The reactions of the Whites help to build the story and specifically help to exemplify the theme. The
Whites ultimately find out twice that fate has its own plan. They messed with fate and instead, found
out that by messing with their fates they ultimately turned their happiness into sorrow. By obtaining
the monkey s paw, they lost their only son due to the first wish and used the second and third wishes
carelessly and by the end of the story, they were grief stricken and hopeless. They eventually learned
the lesson that for every wish, there is a price to

Late Devonian Calculation Paper
Abstract
Late Devonian paleoclimate proxy records indicate substantial sea level variations, however a
thorough understanding of the Late Devonian climate and the causes of these fluctuations remain
uncertain. Numerous theories, including glaciation, bolide impacts, global anoxia, and the spreading
of land plants are attributed to these events. This paper attempts to test the plausibility of the
glaciation hypothesis by applying Late Devonian boundary conditions to a general circulation model
(GCM). A Late Devonian paleo reconstruction is combined with soil and vegetation, pCO2, and
obliquity parameters. Temperature and precipitation patterns indicate that it is possible for mountain
glaciers to form in regions of Gondwana that have both high latitude and altitude. However, because
there is a low temperature gradient between the equator and poles, the climate is comparable to post
industrial greenhouse climates. Therefore, these GCM simulations provide a greater understanding of
Late Devonian climate conditions and add validity to Late Devonian glaciation. ... Show more content

3c) (De Vleeschoucer, et al., 2014). These simulations suggest that it was possible for mountain
glaciers to form on Gondwana in locations of both high altitude and latitude. An average monthly
temperature of 37 °C is recorded at tropical Gondwanan latitudes and the highest land temperatures
appear in January (Fig 4b)(De Vleeschoucer et al., 2014). Compared to modern pre industrial
simulations, Late Devonian sea surface temperatures are significantly higher. At 60° S this difference
is 13 °C and 1.2 °C at the equator (Fig. 4a). Therefore, the Late Devonian climate has a low pole to
equator temperature gradient and is comparable to post industrial greenhouse climates (De

  • 2. The Religious Issues Of The Malay Population During... Part one: essay proposal (200 300 words) a) Giving a brief explanation of the scope of the essay (the figure you will examine, the time period, geographical focus, etc). Question: How did the British managed the religious issues of the Malays during colonial rule in Singapore? Through an analysis of the Maria Hertogh riot case study, we are able to gain deeper insights into British s colonial policies in their management of the religious issues of the Malay population in the post 1945 era. At the same time this also allows us to see how race intersect with class as the Malay population constitutes the lower income class in Singapore at that time. Using Maria as a case study, we are also able to see how gender interact with race and class during colonialism as things may have turned out differently if the child in case was a boy instead. b) Outlining your key research questions and the conclusions that you have drawn from your research thus far. 1. Did British mismanaged sensitive religious issues pertaining to the Malays during colonial rule? 2. Did the British pursue a strict policy of resistance in their religious policies? This ethnic conflict has been widely argued to be the consequence of a mismanagement of the religious issues of the Malay population by the British. However, it would be inaccurate to solely blame the British s policies for triggering the riots as they were other factors that led to the riots such as the media and the hidden motives of the ... • 3. The Role Of Performance Enhancing Drugs In Professional... If you are an avid sports fan and there is a chance to make superstar athletes whom you admire much faster, stronger and better, would you be in favor of that opportunity? Performance enhancing drugs have been a very controversial topic ever since American professional athletes introduced them into the sports world during the 1990 s. Many athletes have experimented with these drugs over their careers and have been tested, and ultimately caught, but does this really put the MLB in the direction they and the fans want? Although some researchers and critics may consider performance enhancing drugs a method of cheating, PEDs actually benefit professional leagues by increasing fan interest, revenue, and levels of play. If performance enhancing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some athletes are hard workers, and others use PEDs, but players will do anything possible to gain an advantage over their opponents. Because of this known fact, Higher level athletes are always going to do everything they can to get an edge, to beat the competition, and extend their shorts careers (Kolosky). Players careers are relatively short due to injury or fatigue. If players were to use steroids, their bodies can recover from injury at a faster rate and build up more strength to avoid fatigue. Fans may complain about how player statistics from different eras are now not comparable, but it s important to note that historical statistics are already antiquated. Baseball has changed over time, so records set by Babe Ruth or Roger Maris are obsolete. Rule changes radically modified baseball at the end of the deadball era, ... Simply put, professional sports have evolved so much over the years that it s mostly nonsense to directly compare statistics across eras, regardless of steroid use (Smith). This implies that because of the more frequent use of steroids among players, it is now not possible to correctly compare players from decades ago to the modern day stars, but with of all the rule changes and defensive schemes used, it would not be possible to compare players anyways; even without PEDs. Finally, many critics believe that an unfair level of play is created because of the handful of innocent players but if we really want to level the playing field, it may be time to head in the other direction, legalize performance enhancers... Not only would the playing field suddenly be even for all players, it would be at a higher level (Smith). A proposed solution underscores the fact that if all players used PEDs, a fair level of play would be created and it would be at a much higher level than ever ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A bullet is traveling at its fastest speed when it leaves the barrel of the gun. Bullets traveling after firing is said to be using kinetic energy. Toyoda kiichiro was hesitant to invest in automobile sector. In the year 1933 the company started its production. In order to have cost efficiency they adopted the mass production technology. The production of cars was hampered due to the war. The government on judgement of the military denied generation of passenger cars. But after the war Kiichiro decided to again establish the company and start production of cars. But certain problems were faced. The market was limited for mass production as they had planned earlier. There was another problem of setting up capital required by the company for starting the production. One means of dominance, male dominance, creates a struggle for women to maintain their identities. Toni Morrison s Beloved presents the battered life of a woman, Sethe, who experiences male dominance as a slave. Likewise, Ophelia in William Shakespeare s Hamlet is controlled by various men as she suffers in a corrupt environment. In both Beloved by Morrison and Hamlet by Shakespeare, internal conflicts are created as the lives of two different female characters are oppressed because the women fail to coincide with the norms presented by the powerful males. Throughout Beloved, Morrison alludes to the historical role of slaves, specifically the weakness of the innocent individuals due to the dominance of the white race. Digital watermarking is now drawing attention as a new method of protecting multimedia content from unauthorized copying. Over the past two decades, many digital watermarking algorithms have been developed, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... LITERATURE SURVEY The audio watermarking has been a hot research area for protection of digital sound content. Many researchers have suggested algorithms for that. Some has also done a good survey of previous work done. That helps fellow researchers to work forward. In [1] Komal et. al presented a survey report on various audio watermarking algorithms. They divided the work into three main categories: spread spectrum algorithm, amplitude modification, replica method, dither watermarking and self marking method. As per the author the spread spectrum method has the problem of synchronisation and time consumed is higher whereas replica is good for synchronisation but echo handling is worst. Amplitude modification method needs large channel capacity and introduces noise too. Overall self marking method is good for synchronisation and robust for watermarking. Ali Al Haj [2] in his paper proposed solution for shortcomings of spread spectrum method is overcome by combining it with singular value decomposition for high rate of robustness. To make it more robust the watermark bits are inserted diagonally into wavelet transformed input audio signals and a controlling gain parameter is introduced. This method also ... Marching band is the sport in which musicians play while they march on a field to make shapes, but it s not as easy as it looks? They have to practice a lot, even during the summer; some practices are even 12 hours long. Even through all of this it is a great sport to take part in. This year was my first year in marching band and it was hard! I had to go through a lot of different struggles. Before school even started this year I came to school Monday through Friday for two weeks to learn how to be in marching band. The first week we practiced from 8 to 6 and during the second week we practiced from 8 to 8. That is a 12 hour practice. At practices we would start with stretches then start our conditioning. That is where we would walk for one minute, jog for 45 seconds then sprint for 15 seconds: repeat. We did this for 10 minutes. After we conditioned we would have a water break. If you join marching band, you start to understand why people always say to stay hydrated because it can cause some serious problems. Usually during the water breaks Abby, Jema, Corbin and me would talk all kinds of stuff from Corbin s leg hair to bras and food. Sadly our water breaks aren t very long. He belongs to the school of thought of moderate functionalism, that the final solution was led up to, and that policies enacted led up to it, with no premeditation. He argues that the final solution happened because of previous attempts to create a Judenfrei Europe that did not have enough success. It uses multiple types of evidence to prove this thesis. First it talks about Jewish policy in Poland, involving deportation and in turn the resettlement of Volksdeutsche. The problem with this is that it does not have enough success, with deportation rates at a low 40% on average. In addition, many government officials were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The name Seventh day Adventist is based on the Church s observance of the biblical Sabbath on Saturday, the seventh day of the week. Advent means coming and refers to their belief that Jesus Christ will soon return to this earth. Seventh day Adventists differ in only four areas of beliefs from the mainstream Trinitarian Christian denominations. The great controversy The great controversy is the battle between Satan and Christ. Humanity is involved in this battle and should choose Christ. The Heavenly Sanctuary The correct understanding of the ministration in the heavenly sanctuary is the foundation of our faith. Ellen G. That sanctuary (a tabernacle or a temple) was a man made version of the sanctuary that God created in Heaven, which is the Temple of God in Heaven; the place where God lives. Adventists believe that Christ, as the high priest of the new covenant, ministers in the heavenly sanctuary. He said to me, It will take 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary will be reconsecrated. Daniel 8:14 We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man. • 26. Jane Eyre By Charlotte Bronte Following the experiences of Jane Eyre, Charlotte Bronte, expresses many elements of gothic literature throughout her novel Jane Eyre. In her perfect understanding of gothic literature, she expresses the three types of evil commonly found in gothic literature, including the evil of the supernatural, the evil within or the instinctual evil motives of humans, and lastly, the evil because of societal influence. Jane Eyre experiences all of these three evils with her aunt and three cousins with her residency and return to Gateshead: Jane encounters the supernatural and the evil of societal influence as a child and she fully encounters the evil within upon her return. As a child at Gateshead, one discovers the first form of evil in the novel with the negative interactions between Jane and her relatives, which sparks from both, physical inferiority, (Bronte 11) to her cousins, and as Bronte eventually states, her lack of money. Doing rather short work, the reader discovers Jane does not belong in Gateshead with her rich Aunt, Mrs. Reed, and her cousins, John, Georgina, and Eliza. Jane s three cousins cluster, around their mamma, (Bronte 11) in the opening of the novel, but Jane sits in solitary. She leaves to ask her aunt, What does Bessie say I have done? (Bronte 11); her aunt responds she likes children, who do not take up their elders, and Bronte implies, she likes good children, which becomes surprising with Jane s cousins later actions. • 27. The Importance Of Word Superiority On Word Recognition The purpose of this essay is to evaluate the effects of word frequency and superiority on word recognition when considering three models of lexical access with these being the logogen, frequency ordered bin search (FOBS) and TRACE models. Included in this analysis empirical proof from research studies will be considered. It is vital to understand the relevance of the word frequency and superiority effects before contemplating their role in the models of lexical access. Word frequency is often associated with Balota and Chumbley (1984) as their research, comprising of three experiments using 20 participants, demonstrates that the time taken to respond to a high frequency, commonly occurring words was shorter than that of a low frequency when recognising words. Contrasting this, Mosell, Doyle and Haggard (1989) observed this effect on a lexical decision and then a semantic categorisation task. Their findings demonstrate that word frequency and response time are equally related in all tasks involving word identification. Balota and Chumbley (1990) responded to the criticism as they remain confident in their own findings supporting the view that word frequency demonstrates that words we encounter on a daily basis require a shorter response time. The purpose of the word superiority effect is explored in Reicher s (1969) study which used 9 female students. Superstring Theories My interests in physics surround the central theme of developing a unified description of the fundamental laws of the universe that is based on underlying symmetries and devoid of free, dimensionless parameters. Superstring theories are one class of theory that endeavours to provide such a description. My graduate research has included projects in both theoretical developments using type IIB supergravity (SUGRA), as well as its application via the AdS/CFT correspondence. A string theory description of a standard model type theory is only made possible by the intro duction of D branes as sources of background flux in compact extra dimensions. We showed that including backreacting D3 branes in warped compactifications did not produce divergences in the effective action and so represented a consistent theory from dimensional reduction. Due to the self duality of the five form field strength (i.e. F5 = ⋆F5), we were able to describe the D3 brane compensators in terms of either electric like charge sources via d ⋆ F5 = ⋆Je with dF5 = 0, or magnetic like charge sources via dF5 = ⋆Jm with d ⋆ F5 = 0. We further showed that other moduli of warped compactifications, such as the universal volume modulus and its associated axion considered in [5], could be recast in terms of electric or magnetic descriptions similar to the D3 branes. In ongoing work with A. Frey, I am continuing to develop the description of monopole like sources in extra dimensions. As an application, we consider a magnetic monopole in Minkowski spacetime. By writing the field strength as the sum of a local source term plus a global total derivative, we are able to derive the magnetic analogue of the Lorentz force law without the need of non physical dual potentials. One of the most widely recognized results to come from string theory is the gauge/gravity cor respondence [6]. • 40. Francisco Goya Third Of May Essay The Third of May Francisco Goya I chose to my report on Francisco Goya Third of May, 1808. This painting represents the French taking over Spain during the time Napoleon was in reign. This invasion was a two day process but the painting is about what happened on the third of May. Napoleon chose to invade Spain because he wanted to out his brother, Joseph Bonaparte, in power in Spain to have an alliance with Spain to conquer Portugal (Zappella, 2014). The invasion was an ambush as the French told the Spanish they were just passing through, but events soon quickly changed when the intentions became clear (Zappella, 2014). According to Christine Zappella, on the third of May Spanish freedom fighters were rounded up and massacred by the French. Their Spanish blood ran through the streets of Madrid (2014). The artist was so profound by the evets, he recreated the uprising in his paintings (Zappelle, 2014). The first painting Goya created was the Second of May, which is Leonardo s Battle of Anghiari. In this painting he depicts mangled horses and bodies on the streets of France. The second painting he created was the Third of May. This painting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 42. Teaching Bilingual Students At The Elementary School Level Based on my experience, the findings of this study are not surprising. Science has become a major challenge for bilingual students at the elementary school level particularly those in fifth grade who are scheduled to take the Science STAAR (in the past the TAKS) for the first time. In the schools I taught, many students struggled with the Spanish version of the test. Teachers and administrators claim that the reason for the students failure is the vocabulary. According to them, the Spanish version contains science terms that are too sophisticated which make this test harder than the English version. Coming from a science background and having received science education in both Spanish and English I found this intriguing. Soon I discovered that many teachers lack of basic science skills and knowledge. Consequently, they rely on the resources provided by the district, which were in occasions erroneous. In addition, most bilingual teachers in these schools did not have teaching degrees or significant teaching experience. In situations like this the availability of professional development for science bilingual teachers becomes of critical importance. However, most training is designed for monolingual English speaking students. Bilingual educators are left with the task of adapting materials in order to satisfy the needs of their students. This attempt often causes translated materials to be inaccurate and inconsistent with the original materials. Another factor that I noticed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Why Women Empowerment And Entrepreneurs Why women empowerment and entrepreneurs Swami Vivekananda, one of the greatest sons of India, quoted that, There is no chance for the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved, It is not possible for a bird to fly on only one wing. Therefore, inclusion of Women Empowerment as one of the prime goals in the eight Millennium Development Goals underscores the relevance of this fact. Thus, in order to achieve the status of a developed country, India needs to transform its colossal women force into an effective human resource and this is possible only through the empowerment of women. Economic empowerment is the first step towards political empowerment and beyond. Economic empowerment should enable woman to take greater financial risks, greater standards of development and more access to resources; it is not merely a marginal increase in income. However, if economic empowerment has to translate into substantial change in power relations, the socio political empowerment should take place simultaneously. HE Tebelelo Seretse Ambassador of Botswana to the united state said that when you empower a man, you empower an individual, when you empower a woman you empower the nation. It is perfect statement because a nation s competitiveness in the long term depends on how it educate ,trains and equips its women power potential talent base by providing them the same rights ,responsibilities and opportunities as others. • 47. Analysis Of Street Light By Giacomo Balla I chose to travel to the Museum of Modern Art for this assignment. Once I was there, I wasn t sure which artwork I wanted to focus my analysis on. At first I was overwhelmed by the sheer enormity of the museum (I have never been), but after a little while I gained my bearings and began to explore for 20th century art. After viewing many of the paintings that we discussed in depth in class and many that we did not, I decided to write my analysis on Street Light, by Giacomo Balla. I chose this painting because the colors and aspects of it intrigue me. I am also familiar with it, which can help aid me in my analysis. I was extremely interested when we discussed Futurism in class, and I was happy that I could find something in the Museum of Modern Art that had to do with that particular movement, especially a painting that we touched upon. The painting itself was much larger than I anticipated in person, and stood taller than me the way it was mounted on the wall. The colors were more vibrant than any picture online could convey, and I found that I had to restrain myself from physically touching the lines of color that symbolized the street lamps light. Up close, I was able to notice the finer details of the work. The lines seemed a little messier and more hastily painted than I had originally thought, however, this added to the movement of the piece overall. I found myself wishing that the lines of color pushed to the boundaries of the painting rather than ending before ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Overall, Schumpeter would agree with the philosophy of Startup America, as it allows for entrepreneurs to be more successful, which in his mind would increase economic development. Next, when Israel Kirzner would examine Startup America he would approve of its focus on entrepreneurship in America, however, he would find flaws in the methods that Startup America uses. First, he would like how Startup America concentrated on promoting entrepreneurship, as he also believes it is directly correlated to economic development. In Kirzner s article, The Alert and Creative Entrepreneur , he says, Successful entrepreneurship plays an enormously significant role in driving economic development, growth, an in the achievement of the prosperous economy (1). Clearly, as stated in his article, Kirzner understands the significance of successful entrepreneurship and how it can impact the economy, therefore, he wants to find ways to promote entrepreneurship and increase its success, which is exactly what Startup America is doing. Although, Kirzner would agree with the philosophy of Startup America, he would dislike how it prioritizes everything. Instead of prioritizing, Kirzner would call for clear and equal rules, which would produce equality throughout the economy. Basically, Kirzner would find that Startup ... • 49. Fate In The Monkey s Paw By W. Jacobs Fate cannot be tamed and anyone who tries to modify their fate does so to their sorrow. This is the main theme that is exemplified in the short work of fiction The Monkey s Paw by W.W. Jacobs. Jacobs successfully creates characters who eventually learn the lesson about fate. Mr. and Mrs. White, the main characters, are visited late one night by a fakir who gives them a monkey s paw that could grant 3 wishes. But, before the fakir leaves, he warns the Whites, if they use the paw, to wish for something sensible (Jacobs 27). Not only does this create foreshadowing, but it also generates conflict between the Whites as to whether or not to use the paw and what to wish for. The author uses the responses of the characters to this conflict, especially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A terrified and grief stricken Mrs. White acts impulsively, trying to get her son back. She ultimately grabs the paw from where it had been discarded, lying forlornly on the kitchen table, and uses another wish to get her son back (Jacobs 33). Awhile later, the Whites hear knocking and realize that the paw has worked again. Mrs. White rushes to the door, while Mr. White hangs back. Mr. White realizes almost too late that whatever is behind the door might not be his son. So, Mr. White quickly grabs the paw and wishes away whatever was behind the door. The door then swings open to reveal no one. Mrs. White, once again grief stricken, runs outside to the quiet and deserted road and the story ends with the sounds of her anguished cries cutting through the night (Jacobs 34). This, once again, is an example of how the characters reactions help to build to the theme. The Whites certainly get what they wished for, but not in the way in which they want it. The reactions of the Whites help to build the story and specifically help to exemplify the theme. The Whites ultimately find out twice that fate has its own plan. They messed with fate and instead, found out that by messing with their fates they ultimately turned their happiness into sorrow. By obtaining the monkey s paw, they lost their only son due to the first wish and used the second and third wishes carelessly and by the end of the story, they were grief stricken and hopeless. • 50. Late Devonian Calculation Paper Abstract Late Devonian paleoclimate proxy records indicate substantial sea level variations, however a thorough understanding of the Late Devonian climate and the causes of these fluctuations remain uncertain. Numerous theories, including glaciation, bolide impacts, global anoxia, and the spreading of land plants are attributed to these events. This paper attempts to test the plausibility of the glaciation hypothesis by applying Late Devonian boundary conditions to a general circulation model (GCM). A Late Devonian paleo reconstruction is combined with soil and vegetation, pCO2, and obliquity parameters. Temperature and precipitation patterns indicate that it is possible for mountain glaciers to form in regions of Gondwana that have both high latitude and altitude. However, because there is a low temperature gradient between the equator and poles, the climate is comparable to post industrial greenhouse climates. Therefore, these GCM simulations provide a greater understanding of Late Devonian climate conditions and add validity to Late Devonian glaciation. ...
