Article Analysis of Hugo Chave s Death
The reaction to Hugo Chávez s death has caused a huge stir up in not only Latin America, but in the
United States as well. There are many different opinions on how much Chávez s death will affect the
country of Venezuela as a whole. Certain articles state that his death is a positive for the country and
how the country will now develop in a better way. Other articles state that his death is tragic and many
people are saddened because of how much he has helped build the country. Regardless, most people
feel as though the country will continue to develop. In the first article, The U.S Reaction To Chávez s
Death: From Mourning To Celebration by Tom Watkins, there were different opinions on Chávez. On
one side, many people were celebrating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The publication (2013) stated, He strengthened OPEC, which helped to stabilize global supplies and
prices, took majority shares (with compensation) in lucrative new fields, and increased royalties and
tax collections. (p. 1) Each article makes valid points. Those points are that Chávez has played a huge
role in Venezuela, whether it was positive or negative. But the main goal I believe the power elites is
trying to make is that Venezuela is on its way to becoming as independent as any other independent
country. Some parts of the article is even trying to emphasize that Venezuela was already on its way to
independence before Chávez took control. Although these articles are stating how this country is
fighting for its independence, it isn t stating or showing the tragedies that are happening in the country
during this process. Many people are being killed in the country just for fighting for their rights. But
people in the U.S wouldn t know this because it isn t being broadcasted. It is being hidden so that
people don t know what negativity is going on and how many people are really helping to stop the
violence through the government in Venezuela (which people has some U.S involvement as well). My
hope is that somehow these violent actions stop and the people in Venezuela will have the rights and
freedom that the people in the U.S have. When comparing both articles, you can see the difference
between mainstream and alternative stories. In

Lev Vygotsky s Social Development Theory And Zone Of...
Each classroom is composed of a unique and diverse group of learners that have different abilities in
the way they learn. Models of learning and various theoretical frameworks provide a blueprint to help
teachers understand different theories across disciplines. Knowledge is everywhere and providing
children with the proper tools on how to learn is essential in education. I believe that if I create a
learning environment that allows children to grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically
it will allow students a path to help meet their full potential as an individual. A few of the theoretical
frameworks and theorists I have found most useful in my teaching experience and that have helped me
developed my philosophy include Lev Vygotsky, John Dewey and Howard Gardner. To better develop
students literacy knowledge and improve their usage of academic language, I will utilize Lev
Vygotsky s Social Development Theory and Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) to support the
instructional design in my lessons in the classroom. Vygotsky s ZPD suggests that children benefit
from having addition support or scaffolding from a More Knowledgeable Other (MKO). According to
Vygotsky the teacher s role of providing support and guidance will allow the student to achieve with
assistance that he or she might not have reached independently. According to the Encyclopedia of
Cognitive Science it states, Vygotsky argued that educative environments must utilize the ZPD,

My Wife And My First Child
In December of 2008, my wife and I found out we would be having our fourth child. We were living
in Sugarloaf Key, FL while I worked in Key West, FL. Due to some unforeseen circumstances with
our land lord, we terminated our lease in Sugarloaf early, rather than trying to find a place for the
remaining six months we would be there. We moved the family back home to North Carolina over the
Christmas break from school. I still had six months or so remaining before I transferred to my new job
in Tybee Island, GA. The military had moved us before, being a military family moving was a bitter
sweet occurrence. The family adjusted well and settled right in. Having family close by to help ease
this transition helped out greatly. The fourth addition to our family was developing on schedule,
regular doctor visits, and checkups. We decided that he would be born in NC since my wife was
comfortable with the doctor she was already seeing. The estimated delivery date also worked with my
work schedule and being home for the birth.
When I was finished in Key West, I had a few weeks off before I started my new assignment in GA.
During these few weeks I rejoined my family in NC and took my wife house hunting in GA. We found
a great development just going up with a new K 8 school, which was going to be finished for the start
of the next school year, just outside the gate of the development. With our expected due date for our
son in August, the family set up in NC, and the timing of my work

Spanish Leadership and Cruelty in An expedition by Miguel...
Philippines Research Paper 30,000 years ago, it is believed that the Negritos have migrated to the
Philippines from Borneo, Sumatra, and Malaya. Following that, the Malayans followed in successive
waves. The Malayan culture has survived to this day among certain groups such as the Igorots. The
later Malayan tribes that came had more highly developed cultures. In the 14th century, Arab traders
introduced Islam to the islands and extended their influence. In 1521, the Portuguese explorer
Ferdinand Magellan led an expedition around the world, and one of his resting points was in the
Philippines. One of the other Spanish expeditions was in 1542 by López de Villalobos from Mexico,

In February, 1899, Aguinaldo led a new revolt, the Philippine American War. The U.S. captured of
Aguinaldo on March 23, 1901 and in 1902, President Theodore Roosevelt proclaimed a full and
complete pardon and amnesty to all people in the Philippine archipelago who had participated in the
conflict, effectively ending the war. After World War II, Manuel Roxas became the first president of
the Republic of the Philippines when independence was granted, as scheduled, on July 4, 1946 from
the United States. As time went along, the Philippines had more presidents after Roxas, including
Elpidio Quirino, Ramon Magsaysay, Carlos P. García, and Diosdado Macapagal, all who served 4 year
terms. Then, the president after Macapagal, Ferdinand E. Marcos, served as president from 1965 to
1986. During this time, government corruption and civil disorder increased. After a series of fraud
attempts in the 1986 elections, Marcos lost his support and Corazon Aquino became president. In
1992, Fidel Ramos succeeded Aquino and Joseph Marcelo Estrada was elected as president in 1998. In
November, 2000, Estrada was impeached by the House of Representatives and in 2001 the Supreme
Court stripped him of his power and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was sworn in as Estrada s successor.
On June 30, 2010, Benigno Aquino III became the president of the Philippines. Works Cited

Write An Essay On Pork Tapeworms
A pork tapeworm, also known as a Taenia Solium, is a certain type of tapeworm that can infect people
who eat raw pork or under cooked pork. Pork tapeworms can survive in human intestines for up to 25
years, or even longer, and it shows little to no symptoms. If the eggs from the worm are digested this
can cause a extremely serious condition called Cysticercosis, which hatches the egg and releases the
larva, which migrates to other parts of the body like the brain and eyes, which can lead to
neurocysticercosis, causing epileptic seizures and psychiatric disturbances. Tapeworms are
hermaphrodites, which means they have both female and male gonads to generate both sperm and
eggs. They reproduce sexually, either through self fertilization ... Show more content on

Some patients with pork tapeworms have symptoms of diarrhea, nausea, weakness and decreased
appetite. People infected with the worm may not even have symptoms or any idea that the worm is
even inside them. Cysts are able to form on the brain and spinal cord, which could lead to seizures or
symptoms that are similar to a brain tumor. Cysts on a spinal cord can result in difficulty walking and
weakness. In very rare cases, death has occurred. They can also affect the organs in the body near the
intestinal and abdominal area. If worms reach the heart, this can cause heart failure and heart
arrhythmias. Eye blindness and vision loss are results of eye lesions. The worms typically don t take
up too much space, however if they grow to be too large this can cause blockage. A tapeworms habitat
is inside the intestines of humans. Its life is carried out between two hosts, one being the man host and
the other is the pig host. Except for the adults, the life is carried out through the body of the secondary
host, which would be the pig. Injuries to the mucous membrane lining are a result of the worm living
in the intestines. It can even cause mechanical injury of the alimentary canal which causes weakness,
abdominal pain, and extreme loss of

Throughout his career, Ernest Hemmingway’s writing style...
Throughout his career, Ernest Hemmingway s writing style has brought many questions from critics
all over the world. These questions mainly emerged due to his writing being different from anyone
else during that time. Hemmingway s writing was simple and direct unlike other fellow writers. This
made it easier for people to comprehend and it made connections to his ideas straightforward. In
works such as Old Man and the Sea and For whom the Bell Tolls, Ernest Hemmingway uses his style
of writing to convey his purpose and ideas of literary elements, such as plot, mood, character,
symbolism, and theme, which can be analyzed with New Critical Theory and Iceberg Theory. Before

This 127 page piece takes place in a small fishing village near Havana, Cuba and the waters of the
Gulf Mexico. Most of it, however, takes place in the waters. The novel is about a Cuban fisherman,
Santiago, who sets out to the waters for a journey. Little did he know that his journey would turn into
a four 4 day struggle with a giant marlin. The novel starts off with readers finding out that Santiago
has been on an eighty four day streak of returning empty handed from the sea. It is further learned that
his close young friend, Manolin, has been ordered by his parents to fish on a more successful boat.
Santiago s and Manolin s relationship resembles a relationship of a mentor to a protégé. Against his
parents order, the boy still visits Santiago every night at his hut. Here the boy helps the old man with
Syed Ali 3 several tasks such as grabbing food, tweaking equipment, and even talking about sports.
On another note, Santiago is eager to end his unlucky streak. The next day, the old man decides that
enough is enough and sets out to the sea seeking to end his notorious streak. After passing the shallow
waters in his skiff he arrives in the Gulf Stream. Once the skiff settles down, the old man throws out a
line into the waters. After some time something takes the bait. With his expertise, Santiago hooks the
fish. However, instead of pulling the fish up, the giant fish decides to pull the entire skiff. Santiago

significant changes to improve countries across the globe politically, economically and socially and
over the past few decades, there has been r in people s reliance and use of the Internet. The gap
between those who do and those who do not have access to the Internet is known as the digital divide.

So as the divide narrows, it gets deeper. This is not the only comparable cause of the digital inequality
since, both countries have many factors that are impacting their digital divide issue such as, the
internet usage gap between the older and younger generations, the correlation between income levels
and the level of computer illiteracy. Firstly, in both Australia and Malaysia, there is a correlation in the
age of its citizens and internet usage. Australians aged from 18 to 29 years old are nine times more
likely Internet users than those over fifty, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. While in
Malaysia, there are very similar studies with similar results such as, the ones done by Malaysian
Communications and Multimedia Commission where most of the internet users are 20 through 24
years old. This gap may be caused by the mindset of the older generations that may feel like that they
have been living without information technology for so long, they have no need for it, even though,
information technology could help them become more effective and efficient. Some of them may also
feel that information technology could jeopardize their jobs if certain processes are automated with the
use of information technology which, can actually create more jobs in the production

Brief history of American Airlines
On April 15, 1926, Charles Lindbergh flew the first American Airlines flight carrying U.S. mail from
St. Louis, Missouri, to Chicago, Illinois. After 8 years of mail routes, the airline began to form into
what it is today. American founder C.R. Smith worked with Donald Douglas to create the DC 3; a

How Did The Great Awakening Influence The Role Of Religion...
Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, a series of religious revivalist movements took place in the
English colonies of North America. Born out of the declining religious devotion of many colonists, the
revival, known as the Great Awakening, created a new form of Christianity and transformed how
religion was viewed in the colonies. This monumental event had long term effects on North America,
some of which continue to be felt even today. The most notable long term effects included the
transformation of Protestantism and religious worship, the spread of revolutionary zeal due to the
establishment of the American spirit, and the emergence of higher education in America.
The Great Awakening had many lasting effects, one of which was the transformation of religion in
America. The movement gave birth to a new branch of Christianity, known as evangelical Christianity,
as well as a new style of preaching. Traveling preachers used emotion and passion to ignite fear and
piety in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Great Awakening taught people that challenging previous authority, such as the church, was
allowed. People could speak out against the establishment and choose to have their own ideas
regarding religion and society. Thus, people were later less hesitant to speak out against British
authority. Furthermore, the Great Awakening unified people and created a distinct identity. As they
now could choose their religion and lifestyle, people bonded over their similarities and ways of living.
The church, whose authority stemmed from England, was rejected, and thus, the British influence on
people lessened. It was this that allowed people to break free from the British during the Revolution,
as they were now acting as their own entity, rather than a part of Britain. They wanted to preserve their
own freedoms and lifestyles rather than succumb to British authority, which fueled revolutionary

Choosing An Online Survey And Collect Responses
Instead of interviewing four people, I decided to make an online survey and collect responses because
I was at home for Thanksgiving. As a result I got more responses, and I think people were more honest
as well. I also allowed for the respondents to choose whether they have majority or minority status. I
had nine responses, three identifying as minority status, five as majority status, and one student who
was not sure, since he/she/they fell into multiple target groups but reported that she didn t experience
any discrimination. There were some interesting discrepancies, since one female student reported that
she was a minority, and another reportedly felt she was in the majority. At RIT, the distribution of
gender differs by program, so this could be a reason why this discrepancy exists. None of the students
who identified themselves as having majority status reported experiencing any discrimination
themselves, and neither did the one female student who identified as a minority but fell into no other
target groups. One respondent, a self identified conservative, Catholic white male chose to identify as
a minority group. I thought this made sense since college campuses tend to be liberal, so conservatives
are sometimes considered to be minorities. I thought about adding a checkbox for ideological
minorities to my target group list when I first made my survey, but I was concerned that anyone might
have a reason to check that box, since everyone s ideologies vary to some

Maslow Hierarchy Of Needs Analysis
Maslow s (1943, 1954) hierarchy of needs is a motivational theory in psychology comprising a five
tier model of human needs, often depicted as hierarchical levels within a pyramid.
Maslow stated that people are motivated to achieve certain needs and that some needs take precedence
over others. Our most basic need is for physical survival, and this will be the first thing that motivates
our behaviour. Once that level is fulfilled the next level up is what motivates us, and so on. maslow s
hierarchy of needs five stage pyramide
This five stage model can be divided into deficiency needs and growth needs. The first four levels are
often referred to as deficiency needs (D needs), and the top level is known as growth or being needs
(B needs).

5. Self Actualization needs realizing personal potential, self fulfillment, seeking personal growth and

Maslow posited that human needs are arranged in a hierarchy:
It is quite true that man lives by bread alone †when there is no bread. But what happens to man’s
desires when there is plenty of bread and when his belly is chronically filled?
At once other (and â€oehigherâ€) needs emerge and these, rather than physiological hungers,
dominate the organism. And when these in turn are satisfied, again new (and still â€oehigherâ€) needs
emerge and so on. This is what we mean by saying that the basic human needs are organized into a
hierarchy of relative prepotency (Maslow, 1943, p. 375).
The expanded hierarchy of needs:
It is important to note that Maslow s (1943, 1954) five stage model has been expanded to include
cognitive and aesthetic needs (Maslow, 1970a) and later transcendence needs (Maslow, 1970b).
Changes to the original five stage model are highlighted and include a seven stage model and a eight
stage model, both developed during the 1960 s and

A Clean Well Lighted Place
In A Clean, Well Lighted Place , Hemingway uses themes of depression and life as nothingness by
using symbols, and imagery. Two waiters in a Spanish café are waiting late one night for their last
customer to leave. As they wait, they talk about the old, deaf man sitting at the bar. It is revealed that
he has recently attempted suicide. The younger waiter in the café is very agitated and wants the old
man to go home. He says, I wish the suicide attempt had been successful. The younger waiter says that
he has a wife waiting for him at home, and is very unsympathetic. The older waiter sympathizes and
tells the young waiter that the old man had once had a wife as well. The old man eventually leaves
when the young waiter denied him any further drinks. The old man explains that drinking in the café is
completely different than drinking at home. He describes the old man as, One of those who like to stay
late at the café... with all those who do not want to go to bed. With all those who need a light for the
night. He is reluctant to close because there could be a lot of people that may need the café. The older
waiter points out that the bright atmosphere of the café is different than that of a pub. After the
younger waiter leaves, the older one asks himself why he needs a clean, well lighted place. The
answer is that he needs a contrast of order because of a nothing that

In the short story The Guest by Albert Camus, irony is show in many aspects throughout the story. In
the main title, the irony of it is that the word guest is not necessarily used to really describe a guest,
because the guest is the prisoner of the French government. The arab prisoner, had been convicted of

nationalism into the sectionalism that divided the country into north, south and west regions.
Celebrations of unity within the United States soon turned into disagreements concerning
representation within the government and the differences within the national government caused by
the emergence of different Republican factions. States distanced themselves from working collectively
in a united economy. They were largely concerned with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, there was a high tariff placed on foreign goods. This was beneficial for the north because
it increased the chances of Americans purchasing the goods produced in their factories. However, this
was disadvantageous for the south. Since slaves were viewed as objects, imported slaves were
considered imported goods and were sold with high tariffs attached to them. The three regions were
becoming more sectionalist because they were becoming increasing concerned with problems facing
their own area, and not the country as a whole. The sectionalism that emerged during this time period
did so within a short period of time. This is easy to see in the election maps of 1820 and 1824. Within
these four years, the United States went from being uniformly supportive of one candidate (Monroe in
1820), to having support for several candidates. While much of the south was in support of Andrew
Jackson, the first president who did not have a formal education and supported the common man ,
much of the north backed John Q. Adams, the eventual winner. These maps illustrate the regional
differences that eventually led to the lack of a majority vote. Sectionalism became quite prominent
with the emergence of different factions within the Republican Party and eventually the creation of
new parties. Each region was sectionalist in that they voted for the candidate who would be the best
advocate for their area, rather than leader for their country.

Distrust In Police
In recent years, society has heard cases of police brutality at an increasingly shocking rate, thus
creating a sense of distrust among communities towards police officers and other authority figures. As
the first line of defense against crimes such as home invasions or crimes against persons, police
officers are expected to be an ally towards victims; however, it seems that society is now viewing
officers as the perpetrators of crimes as opposed to the protectors. This has already posed an issue
because community members are choosing not to seek police help when needed, and when they do
decide to seek help, forgoing police assistance results in being uncertain of where else to go.
Chicago is the third most populated city in America, and in 2014 there were 57,863 crimes reported by
the Chicago Police Department. However, this does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Brown (2004) said that it is essential that police officials adjust their polices and practices to
accommodate the changing needs of the populace as it continues to metamorphasize. He suggests that
police help educate immigrants about U.S. laws and the role of police, and believes that serving a
diverse society requires police to interact with minorities in a respectful manner while also seeking
their input on local problems. Overall, Brown touts the option of community policing and shows that
he is in favor of integrating the police into the community in order to create deeper bonds with citizens
and form a sense of trust. In various studies, community policing has been shown to effectively
increase positive relations between citizens and the police; when people begin feeling like they can
trust the police, they are more likely to help the authorities out by offering information regarding
crimes that they may have witnessed, or even acting as eyes on the street when the police are not

The Importance Of Environmental Pollution In Bangladesh
Environmental pollution is amajor crisis that we are facing today. Due to the increased urbanization
and industrialization surface water pollution has become a crucial problem. It is necessary to obtain
precise and appropriate information to monitor the quality of any water resource and to develop a tool
to predict and summarize the quality and their usefulness (Mohammadet al.,2010).
Bangladesh covers an area of 147,570 sq. km, a little more than the size of Greece. It extends from 20
34N to 26 38N latitude and from 88 01E to 92 41E longitude. Maximum extension is about 440 km in
the E W direction and 760 km in the NNW SSE direction. The Indian States of West Bengal, Assam,
Meghalaya and Tripura border Bangladesh in the west, north and east respectively. Myanmar forms
the southern part of the eastern frontier. The total length of the land border is about 4,246 km, of
which 93.9% is shared with India and about 6.1% with Myanmar. The country is bounded in the south
by the Bay of Bengal. Although Bangladesh is a small country, the length of the coastline is more than
580 km. The territorial waters of Bangladesh extend 12 nautical miles (22.22 km) and the area of the
high SEAS extending to 200 nautical miles (370.40 km) measured from the base lines constitutes the
economic zone of the country. Because of the Geography of Bangladesh, the country has a mostly
monsoon climate. This means that the country has high rainfall in certain seasons, high temperatures
and high humidity.

My First Love Is Doing Business
My first love was doing business. With my family operating a restaurant when I was a child, I
unconsciously learned how to run an operation and deal with customers within the business
surroundings. It would be easy to trace its origins back to my mother, who was a restaurant manager,
and while she definitely encouraged me, I had a natural drive to unlock the power of doing business,
which gave me a lens through which to view the world around me. During the summer of my junior
year in high school, I hosted my first charity bazaar, a charity sale for self customized T shirts for a
local orphanage that sponsored by my high school. Given much advance publicity, I did well at the
sale, making over $100 in an hour. That accomplishment made me realize my passion toward
marketing and motivated me to pursue a Bachelor degree in Business Management during my
undergraduate studies.
When I enrolled at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), marketing was my core interest: it has
provided numerous opportunities for hands on experience from class projects, such as predictive
analytics with software like SPSS and Tableau, and strategic case analysis with marketing tools like
SWOT and Porter s five force. In addition, with my supporting minor in psychology, I also gain a
psychological perspective and deeply understand how customers are attracted to, and persuaded to,
purchase merchandise as well as how companies build lasting relationships with those customers.
Besides, after taking a

Satire and Fantasy in Kurt Vonnegut s Cat s Cradle Essay
Satire and Fantasy in Kurt Vonnegut s Cat s Cradle
For this essay, I decided to pick two terms that describe Cat s Cradle. I felt that satire and fantasy were
two terms that suited the novel quite well. The book qualifies as a satire because it makes a mockery
of things that were of concern in the sixties. For example, the Cuban missile crisis was a big issue in
the early sixties. Religion was taken much more seriously, and the family unit was more tightly
wound. In the novel, the threat comes not from a large warhead, but from a small crystal of Ice nine.
Religion is satired in Bokononism, which is a religion that is based on lies. The family unit is satired
by the Hoenikkers. The father is detached from reality, the sister is a ... Show more content on

Vonnegut has been quoted as saying that one of the reasons he writes is to poison minds with
humanity. . . to encourage them to make a better world. Cat s Cradle poisons minds with humanity
through the characters, who all very effectively demonstrate humanity. Even though the book itself
comes across as a surrealistic fantasy and the plot is sporadic and surprising, the characters seem very
real. Jonah is a narrator, but he is also an audience, as he travels through the book just as readers do.
Jonah was easy for me to relate to because he observed everything and nothing all at once.
Before he went to the island of San Lorenzo, Jonah was floating on a cloud, not really paying attention
to too much detail. However, as he met more people on the island things started to click for him, and
he was able to make sense out of some of the puzzle that would eventually become his book. Jonah
also makes some dumb mistakes, just like humans do. I don t think that his agreeing to become the
president of San Lorenzo was a smart move, but at the time all he could think about was marrying
Mona, and that in itself was enough motivation for him. Love is blind is a very popular saying, and it
rings true in most humans, and in this case, Jonah.
I thought that another very human character was Newt. He is the youngest sibling, and that s exactly
how he is treated.

The Ethics in Biomedical Research
Rebecca Skloot is a writer specialized in science and medicine. In her first book, Skloot writes about
Henrietta Lacks life story. Henrietta Lacks was a strong African American woman, who died because
of cancer without knowing that her cancer cells were immortal and very useful for medical research.
Her family lived a poverty life without health care, when her cell was commercialized all around the
world. That condition was related to biomedical research s ethics and how consent form should be
used properly. Henrietta Lacks was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on August 1, 1920 (Skloot 40). Her
mother died when she delivered her tenth child. Because of losing her mother, Henrietta ended up

However, when she came back to hospital for a check up, the medical team found out that her body

The worst thing was her kidney could not filter toxins in her body; it made her poisoned her own

HeLa has been used in medical research after Henrietta s death. However, Henrietta s family did not
know that her cell was taken and used that way. Her cells were part of research into the genes that
cause cancer and those that suppress it; they helped develop drugs for treating herpes, leukemia,
influenza, hemophilia, and Parkinson s disease (Skloot 22). HeLa was commercialized but Henrietta s

people gained profit from selling HeLa. Henrietta s children received only a little education and some

That Tally Stick
So many people have keepsakes to symbolize their love for one another. Couples have pictures and
mementos to remind them of their special times. In The Tally Stick , Jarold Ramsey introduces us to a
couple who use a tally stick rather than pictures to represent what is important in their lives. Ramsey
takes us from the beginning of the relationship, when the stick is bare, to the end when it is carved end
to end. We learn of the outside events that build their love, as well as internal measure, upon which
their love is built. According to Ramsey the stick is a part of the couple s relationship. The tally stick
shows that love can be a long lasting bond defined by failure and success that strengthen their
relationship. Before there is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our tally stick is whittled nearly end to end; delicate as scrimshaw, it would not bear you up (20).
Ramsey mentions that the stick is polished with regrets. Because they both have regrets that helped
build their love, the couple clusters those regrets with all other mishaps hand over hand (22). The
author ends the poem with the couple looking back on everything they have done. Running their
fingers from beginning to end they will explore everything that shaped their relationship and forgive
each other s regrets. Ramsey refers to their blameless eyes, telling us that the two no longer blame one
another and can go on loving through old age. Starting from when they were children, they follow the
grain all the way to adulthood and talk softly as of ordinary matters and in one another s blameless
eyes go blind (27). The Tally Stick is symbolic of everything this couple shares with each other. It not
only shows special occasions like a picture but tells a detailed story of their life together. The couple
relives the significant times they spent together by running their thumbs through the intricate notches.
Detailed depictions of their wedding, the births of their children, the tragedies they have gone through
can all be found within the stick. This stick defines the relationship, and is part of the each of them.

My Statement of Purpose for a Course on Networks and IP...
Statement of Purpose Introduction From an early age I learned to look at challenges not as
insurmountable problems, but as opportunities for continual growth, personal discovery, and
ultimately achievement. This mindset of translating challenges pervades my academic career to this
point, and in pursuing a Masters of Science degree I hope to challenge myself to the next level of
academic and professional achievement. Networks and IP Security The innate strengths I have include
the ability to create, critique and analyze algorithms for optimal performance, in addition to router
ripping, protocol analysis and understanding of and interest in data structures and data models. I have
excelled in the areas of electric circuitry design and components, and have also discovered an innate
ability to troubleshoot problems from a systemic, highly focused standpoint. This ability to view entire
networks and the Internet from a very detailed, systemic standpoint has also helped me to excel in
related studies of programming, data structures and algorithm development. The study of security has
been based on the insights gained from viewing the many functional areas of networks through the
perspective of fault tolerance, authentication, advanced connectivity and the development of data
structures that enable communication and collaboration (Adams, 1986). My passion is in the area of
computer networks and security, which is an area I will continually strive to excel in, relying on

Roy Adaptation Theory
Running head: ROY S ADAPTATION MODEL Nursing theory is an organized framework of
concepts that are designed to guide nursing practice and provide a foundation for clinical decision
making. There are many different types of nursing theories. This present paper will focus on one of the
Grand theories, the Roy Adaptation model (RAM). The paper is divided into four main sections
focusing on the importance of the RAM; summary of key concepts; view of RAM on specialization;
and conclusion. There has been an evolution of nursing practice from when Florence Nightingale
started. Nurses used to take direct medical direction to an evolution of independence. Today, advanced

The six steps include assessing behaviors, assessing and categorizing the stimuli, making a diagnosis,
setting goals, implementing interventions, and evaluating achievement. Roy also emphasizes that the
nurses should use their intuitive skills while assessing and initiating interventions. Roy s adaptation
theory has been used to perform nursing research for the past 35 years (Dobratz, 2008). The Boston
Based Adaptation in Nursing Research Society (BBARNS) helped provide and validate the use of Roy
adaptation model in nursing research. They helped identify over 163 studies of which 116 had links to
the RAM process. As a consequence, this theory has been used world wide for research including
holistic methods. I have practiced as a cardiology nurse for the past twenty years and I have seen the
implementation of RAM. Roy s theory can be applied to research pertaining to Cardiology patients.
On example of this is patients suffering with heart failure. It is estimated that 5.1 million patients have

A Research Study On Water Heating
Water heating accounts for (20 30%) share out of total residential electricity consumption in urban
areas. Economical and financial factors are the most important barriers followed by market
availability for penetration of solar water heater [5]. A study has been conducted to find out
determining factors behind adoption of various solar energy technologies: solar photovoltaic and solar
thermal options, collecting data from 296 respondents from Chennai. It has been found that scarcity
for electricity and carbon free operation are two most dominating motivating factors. A single point
estimation of economic viability showed that it is feasible for Chennai [6]. The life cycle cost and
payback period assessment has been done taking three cities in united states ( Los Angeles, Atlanta
and Chicago),two auxiliary systems (natural gas and electricity) and two types of solar collector (flat
plate and evacuated tube). It varies from 4 to 13 years for different configurations [7]. Economic study
has been conducted to calculate electrical energy savings, payback period and cost of unit electricity
saved. The domain of this study was: three locations (Pune, Mumbai and Chennai) and two solar
water heaters with capacity (250lpd and 375lpd).For pune 250lpd was found to be most attractive

Logan: A Stand Out Superhero Movie
In the past few years, the superhero genre has risen into the movie industry. This year alone, six
superhero movies were released. The superhero genre is popular among young adults. While big
studios like Marvel and DC are competing for audiences, many overlook Fox studio, which has been
making critically acclaimed superhero movies like the X Men way before the surge of the genre. The
competition between studios create an oversaturation making it hard for films like Logan to stand, but
it does this and more. Logan not only transcends the superhero genre but also turns the superhero
format on its head. Logan incorporates elements found in the drama, road trip, and western genre and
emphasizes emotion over action. Set in a post apocalyptic future, Logon tells the story of a broken
down Wolverine in his older years, taking care of Charles. Despite his reluctance to engage in any
more conflicts, he is forced to escort Laura, a young girl, to safety. Although Logan may be criticized
for its one dimensional villains and overdone story, director James Mangold, successfully crafted an
excellent film that separates itself from the genre through realistic characters and a simplistic plot.
Most of the time, Logan centralizes on its main characters, so it is understandable that other characters
are not as fleshed out. The villains came off as uninteresting and forgettable. Boyd Holbrook played
Donald Pierce, a generic villain with no reason why he is

It does not take much to look around and see how much medicine has developed over the years.
Scenarios involving certain illnesses that at sometime in the past seemed to be hopeless have been
studied and treatments carefully developed. Many medical discoveries have been made, and many are
the lives that have been spared because of such. On the other hand, however, it is undeniable that there
are many forms of physical disorder that still cannot be fully explained by medicine. Extremely
knowledgeable researchers and devoted doctors have been grappling with problems such as cancer
and AIDS for decades, yet nothing has been discovered or developed further enough to completely
cure these and also many other forms of deadly illnesses.
It is not possible to imagine the everyday life of a person plagued with terminal illness. Not only is
their burden incomparably heavy, but also that of their family and friends who are forced to watch a
loved one suffer over long periods of time. The Journal of Medical Ethics, one of the world s most
respected voices in the field of medicine, attempted to explore the experience of 18 people fighting
against a terminal illness and make known the opinion of patients who are the main target of any
decision made over this issue. A young female patient suffering from chronic obstructive lung disease

  • 3. Article Analysis of Hugo Chave s Death The reaction to Hugo Chávez s death has caused a huge stir up in not only Latin America, but in the United States as well. There are many different opinions on how much Chávez s death will affect the country of Venezuela as a whole. Certain articles state that his death is a positive for the country and how the country will now develop in a better way. Other articles state that his death is tragic and many people are saddened because of how much he has helped build the country. Regardless, most people feel as though the country will continue to develop. In the first article, The U.S Reaction To Chávez s Death: From Mourning To Celebration by Tom Watkins, there were different opinions on Chávez. On one side, many people were celebrating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The publication (2013) stated, He strengthened OPEC, which helped to stabilize global supplies and prices, took majority shares (with compensation) in lucrative new fields, and increased royalties and tax collections. (p. 1) Each article makes valid points. Those points are that Chávez has played a huge role in Venezuela, whether it was positive or negative. But the main goal I believe the power elites is trying to make is that Venezuela is on its way to becoming as independent as any other independent country. Some parts of the article is even trying to emphasize that Venezuela was already on its way to independence before Chávez took control. Although these articles are stating how this country is fighting for its independence, it isn t stating or showing the tragedies that are happening in the country during this process. Many people are being killed in the country just for fighting for their rights. But people in the U.S wouldn t know this because it isn t being broadcasted. It is being hidden so that people don t know what negativity is going on and how many people are really helping to stop the violence through the government in Venezuela (which people has some U.S involvement as well). My hope is that somehow these violent actions stop and the people in Venezuela will have the rights and freedom that the people in the U.S have. When comparing both articles, you can see the difference between mainstream and alternative stories. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Lev Vygotsky s Social Development Theory And Zone Of... Each classroom is composed of a unique and diverse group of learners that have different abilities in the way they learn. Models of learning and various theoretical frameworks provide a blueprint to help teachers understand different theories across disciplines. Knowledge is everywhere and providing children with the proper tools on how to learn is essential in education. I believe that if I create a learning environment that allows children to grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically it will allow students a path to help meet their full potential as an individual. A few of the theoretical frameworks and theorists I have found most useful in my teaching experience and that have helped me developed my philosophy include Lev Vygotsky, John Dewey and Howard Gardner. To better develop students literacy knowledge and improve their usage of academic language, I will utilize Lev Vygotsky s Social Development Theory and Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) to support the instructional design in my lessons in the classroom. Vygotsky s ZPD suggests that children benefit from having addition support or scaffolding from a More Knowledgeable Other (MKO). According to Vygotsky the teacher s role of providing support and guidance will allow the student to achieve with assistance that he or she might not have reached independently. According to the Encyclopedia of Cognitive Science it states, Vygotsky argued that educative environments must utilize the ZPD, providing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. My Wife And My First Child In December of 2008, my wife and I found out we would be having our fourth child. We were living in Sugarloaf Key, FL while I worked in Key West, FL. Due to some unforeseen circumstances with our land lord, we terminated our lease in Sugarloaf early, rather than trying to find a place for the remaining six months we would be there. We moved the family back home to North Carolina over the Christmas break from school. I still had six months or so remaining before I transferred to my new job in Tybee Island, GA. The military had moved us before, being a military family moving was a bitter sweet occurrence. The family adjusted well and settled right in. Having family close by to help ease this transition helped out greatly. The fourth addition to our family was developing on schedule, regular doctor visits, and checkups. We decided that he would be born in NC since my wife was comfortable with the doctor she was already seeing. The estimated delivery date also worked with my work schedule and being home for the birth. When I was finished in Key West, I had a few weeks off before I started my new assignment in GA. During these few weeks I rejoined my family in NC and took my wife house hunting in GA. We found a great development just going up with a new K 8 school, which was going to be finished for the start of the next school year, just outside the gate of the development. With our expected due date for our son in August, the family set up in NC, and the timing of my work ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Spanish Leadership and Cruelty in An expedition by Miguel... Philippines Research Paper 30,000 years ago, it is believed that the Negritos have migrated to the Philippines from Borneo, Sumatra, and Malaya. Following that, the Malayans followed in successive waves. The Malayan culture has survived to this day among certain groups such as the Igorots. The later Malayan tribes that came had more highly developed cultures. In the 14th century, Arab traders introduced Islam to the islands and extended their influence. In 1521, the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan led an expedition around the world, and one of his resting points was in the Philippines. One of the other Spanish expeditions was in 1542 by López de Villalobos from Mexico, who named the islands after Philip II. An expedition by Miguel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In February, 1899, Aguinaldo led a new revolt, the Philippine American War. The U.S. captured of Aguinaldo on March 23, 1901 and in 1902, President Theodore Roosevelt proclaimed a full and complete pardon and amnesty to all people in the Philippine archipelago who had participated in the conflict, effectively ending the war. After World War II, Manuel Roxas became the first president of the Republic of the Philippines when independence was granted, as scheduled, on July 4, 1946 from the United States. As time went along, the Philippines had more presidents after Roxas, including Elpidio Quirino, Ramon Magsaysay, Carlos P. García, and Diosdado Macapagal, all who served 4 year terms. Then, the president after Macapagal, Ferdinand E. Marcos, served as president from 1965 to 1986. During this time, government corruption and civil disorder increased. After a series of fraud attempts in the 1986 elections, Marcos lost his support and Corazon Aquino became president. In 1992, Fidel Ramos succeeded Aquino and Joseph Marcelo Estrada was elected as president in 1998. In November, 2000, Estrada was impeached by the House of Representatives and in 2001 the Supreme Court stripped him of his power and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was sworn in as Estrada s successor. On June 30, 2010, Benigno Aquino III became the president of the Philippines. Works Cited Philippine History. Pinas. N.p., n.d. • 7. Write An Essay On Pork Tapeworms A pork tapeworm, also known as a Taenia Solium, is a certain type of tapeworm that can infect people who eat raw pork or under cooked pork. Pork tapeworms can survive in human intestines for up to 25 years, or even longer, and it shows little to no symptoms. If the eggs from the worm are digested this can cause a extremely serious condition called Cysticercosis, which hatches the egg and releases the larva, which migrates to other parts of the body like the brain and eyes, which can lead to neurocysticercosis, causing epileptic seizures and psychiatric disturbances. Tapeworms are hermaphrodites, which means they have both female and male gonads to generate both sperm and eggs. They reproduce sexually, either through self fertilization ... People infected with the worm may not even have symptoms or any idea that the worm is even inside them. In very rare cases, death has occurred. They can also affect the organs in the body near the intestinal and abdominal area. If worms reach the heart, this can cause heart failure and heart arrhythmias. Eye blindness and vision loss are results of eye lesions. The worms typically don t take up too much space, however if they grow to be too large this can cause blockage. A tapeworms habitat is inside the intestines of humans. Its life is carried out between two hosts, one being the man host and the other is the pig host. Except for the adults, the life is carried out through the body of the secondary host, which would be the pig. These questions mainly emerged due to his writing being different from anyone else during that time. Hemmingway s writing was simple and direct unlike other fellow writers. This made it easier for people to comprehend and it made connections to his ideas straightforward. In works such as Old Man and the Sea and For whom the Bell Tolls, Ernest Hemmingway uses his style of writing to convey his purpose and ideas of literary elements, such as plot, mood, character, symbolism, and theme, which can be analyzed with New Critical Theory and Iceberg Theory. Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, a series of religious revivalist movements took place in the English colonies of North America. As a result I got more responses, and I think people were more honest as well. I also allowed for the respondents to choose whether they have majority or minority status. I had nine responses, three identifying as minority status, five as majority status, and one student who was not sure, since he/she/they fell into multiple target groups but reported that she didn t experience any discrimination. There were some interesting discrepancies, since one female student reported that she was a minority, and another reportedly felt she was in the majority. At RIT, the distribution of gender differs by program, so this could be a reason why this discrepancy exists. None of the students who identified themselves as having majority status reported experiencing any discrimination themselves, and neither did the one female student who identified as a minority but fell into no other target groups. One respondent, a self identified conservative, Catholic white male chose to identify as a minority group. I thought this made sense since college campuses tend to be liberal, so conservatives are sometimes considered to be minorities. However, political changes and economic differences between the states warped this nationalism into the sectionalism that divided the country into north, south and west regions. The three regions were becoming more sectionalist because they were becoming increasing concerned with problems facing their own area, and not the country as a whole. The sectionalism that emerged during this time period did so within a short period of time. This is easy to see in the election maps of 1820 and 1824. Within these four years, the United States went from being uniformly supportive of one candidate (Monroe in 1820), to having support for several candidates. In the novel, the threat comes not from a large warhead, but from a small crystal of Ice nine. Religion is satired in Bokononism, which is a religion that is based on lies. Statement of Purpose Introduction From an early age I learned to look at challenges not as insurmountable problems, but as opportunities for continual growth, personal discovery, and ultimately achievement. This mindset of translating challenges pervades my academic career to this point, and in pursuing a Masters of Science degree I hope to challenge myself to the next level of academic and professional achievement. Networks and IP Security The innate strengths I have include the ability to create, critique and analyze algorithms for optimal performance, in addition to router ripping, protocol analysis and understanding of and interest in data structures and data models. I have excelled in the areas of electric circuitry design and components, and have also discovered an innate ability to troubleshoot problems from a systemic, highly focused standpoint. This ability to view entire networks and the Internet from a very detailed, systemic standpoint has also helped me to excel in related studies of programming, data structures and algorithm development. The study of security has been based on the insights gained from viewing the many functional areas of networks through the perspective of fault tolerance, authentication, advanced connectivity and the development of data structures that enable communication and collaboration (Adams, 1986). My passion is in the area of computer networks and security, which is an area I will continually strive to excel in, relying on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Roy Adaptation Theory Running head: ROY S ADAPTATION MODEL Nursing theory is an organized framework of concepts that are designed to guide nursing practice and provide a foundation for clinical decision making. There are many different types of nursing theories. This present paper will focus on one of the Grand theories, the Roy Adaptation model (RAM). The paper is divided into four main sections focusing on the importance of the RAM; summary of key concepts; view of RAM on specialization; and conclusion. There has been an evolution of nursing practice from when Florence Nightingale started. Nurses used to take direct medical direction to an evolution of independence. Today, advanced practice nurses are PHD, DNP, researchers, nurse practitioners, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The six steps include assessing behaviors, assessing and categorizing the stimuli, making a diagnosis, setting goals, implementing interventions, and evaluating achievement. Roy also emphasizes that the nurses should use their intuitive skills while assessing and initiating interventions. Roy s adaptation theory has been used to perform nursing research for the past 35 years (Dobratz, 2008). The Boston Based Adaptation in Nursing Research Society (BBARNS) helped provide and validate the use of Roy adaptation model in nursing research. They helped identify over 163 studies of which 116 had links to the RAM process. As a consequence, this theory has been used world wide for research including holistic methods. I have practiced as a cardiology nurse for the past twenty years and I have seen the implementation of RAM. Roy s theory can be applied to research pertaining to Cardiology patients. On example of this is patients suffering with heart failure. It is estimated that 5.1 million patients have heart failure and one in 9 will die from it (CDC.gov). Furthermore, more than half the patients gt; 65 years of age are readmitted with heart failure with in 6 months. This has started to place a significant burden on many health care organizations and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. jennie Finch Essay You play like a girl! used to be one of baseball s classic insults. Not anymore. Softball diva Jennie Finch has made it cool to not only throw like a girl, but to run, field and hit like one, too. Not since Babe Ruth has a player dominated so completely from the pitching rubber and the batter s box, and she even gives the Bambino a run for his money in the charisma department. Jennie has also accomplished something Ruth never could: She is showing the boys it s okay to be one of the girls. This is her story... GROWING UP Jennie Finch was born on September 3, 1980, in La Mirada, California. Jennie s parents, Doug and Bev, already had two boys, Shane and Landon. In school, she was an excellent student. But softball consumed most of her free time. Every summer the sport brought her to a new part of the country for a national tournament. In 1995, Jennie s ASA team captured the 14 and under crown. During the summer of 1996, she rooted for the U.S. softball team as it rolled to Olympic gold in Atlanta. When the squad toured the country weeks later, Jennie waited on a long line to get Dot Richardson s autograph. She dreamed of becoming an Olympic champ herself, and swinging a Jennie Finch bat. At La Mirada High School, Jennie made the varsity as a freshman, earned the first of her four letters in the sport, and helped the Matadores to the first of four straight Suburban League titles. During her high school career, she also lettered twice in basketball and in volleyball, but the softball diamond is where she truly distinguished herself. Tall and lean, she was blessed with loads of natural talent and an intense desire to win. As a sophomore, Jennie began amassing an impressive list on honors, being chosen All Suburban League, All CIF Division II, and Whittier Daily News All Area. Analysis Of Riverbank Filteration In India Sandhu et al.,(2011)worked on potential of riverbank filteration in India and found that the abstracted water from all the RBF wells in Haridwar only requires disinfection by chlorination, and provides safe drinking water even when facing high variations in water demand (such as during the Kumbh and Ardh Kumbh Melas) and during monsoons. Tyagi et al.,(2013) Studied River Water Quality Using River Bank Filtration in Uttarakhand, India and found that This technique was found to be effective for removal of turbidity and bacterial contamination present in surface water of four rivers of Uttarakhand, namely Alaknanda, Mandakini, East Nayar, and Pinder.Study revealed that the improved water quality of rivers produced through RBF in a ... • 31. A Research Study On Water Heating Water heating accounts for (20 30%) share out of total residential electricity consumption in urban areas. Economical and financial factors are the most important barriers followed by market availability for penetration of solar water heater [5]. A study has been conducted to find out determining factors behind adoption of various solar energy technologies: solar photovoltaic and solar thermal options, collecting data from 296 respondents from Chennai. It has been found that scarcity for electricity and carbon free operation are two most dominating motivating factors. A single point estimation of economic viability showed that it is feasible for Chennai [6]. The life cycle cost and payback period assessment has been done taking three cities in united states ( Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chicago),two auxiliary systems (natural gas and electricity) and two types of solar collector (flat plate and evacuated tube). It varies from 4 to 13 years for different configurations [7]. Economic study has been conducted to calculate electrical energy savings, payback period and cost of unit electricity saved. The domain of this study was: three locations (Pune, Mumbai and Chennai) and two solar water heaters with capacity (250lpd and 375lpd).For pune 250lpd was found to be most attractive option [8]. Financial and commercial viability of domestic solar water heater has been assessed for Indian climate with lower capacity utilization and low purchasing power of people. A comparison has been ... • 32. Logo Movie Analysis Logan: A Stand Out Superhero Movie In the past few years, the superhero genre has risen into the movie industry. This year alone, six superhero movies were released. The superhero genre is popular among young adults. While big studios like Marvel and DC are competing for audiences, many overlook Fox studio, which has been making critically acclaimed superhero movies like the X Men way before the surge of the genre. The competition between studios create an oversaturation making it hard for films like Logan to stand, but it does this and more. Logan not only transcends the superhero genre but also turns the superhero format on its head. Logan incorporates elements found in the drama, road trip, and western genre and emphasizes emotion over action. Set in a post apocalyptic future, Logon tells the story of a broken down Wolverine in his older years, taking care of Charles. Despite his reluctance to engage in any more conflicts, he is forced to escort Laura, a young girl, to safety. Although Logan may be criticized for its one dimensional villains and overdone story, director James Mangold, successfully crafted an excellent film that separates itself from the genre through realistic characters and a simplistic plot. Most of the time, Logan centralizes on its main characters, so it is understandable that other characters are not as fleshed out. The villains came off as uninteresting and forgettable. It does not take much to look around and see how much medicine has developed over the years. Scenarios involving certain illnesses that at sometime in the past seemed to be hopeless have been studied and treatments carefully developed. Many medical discoveries have been made, and many are the lives that have been spared because of such. On the other hand, however, it is undeniable that there are many forms of physical disorder that still cannot be fully explained by medicine. Extremely knowledgeable researchers and devoted doctors have been grappling with problems such as cancer and AIDS for decades, yet nothing has been discovered or developed further enough to completely cure these and also many other forms of deadly illnesses. It is not possible to imagine the everyday life of a person plagued with terminal illness. Not only is their burden incomparably heavy, but also that of their family and friends who are forced to watch a loved one suffer over long periods of time. The Journal of Medical Ethics, one of the world s most respected voices in the field of medicine, attempted to explore the experience of 18 people fighting against a terminal illness and make known the opinion of patients who are the main target of any decision made over this issue. It will be an overall view of life of living creatures on and around ATV trails. It will compare how animal activity is when the ATVs are running and when the ATVs are sitting still and off. I will ride my ATV through the trails and see what I can see and hear and see what changes when there is no motorized vehicle running. I will explore how human made products influence nature and weather the influence is negative or positive. Throughout my community there are many man made nature trails. I will be going to Alabama for the ATV trails I am riding on. That is also being argued in the article by Joy Coppes and Veronika Braunish called Managing Visitors in Nature Areas: Where do They Leave the Trails. This article argues that on trail activities allow habituation, however wildlife species can hardly adjust to off trail disturbances (2).
